What are your opinions on the other Crow films?

I’ve made reviews for them and little posts as I watched- a lot of rambling but I’ll try to summarize here.

All of them have some sort of value to them. A interesting concept or a bit of added lore that I find beyond interesting and would LOVE to see expanded. (Like in city of angels it heavily implies that crows (the birds) are Crows that failed? That shits tragic and amazing) however … for the large part they’re kinda? Bad. Which I think a large part of it is not the concept itself but the studio meddling and the fact it was the early 2000s and the suffer from everything that made most early 2000s movies pretty bad.

City of angels was decent, again it had a bunch of concepts that? I wanted to be expanded but oh no “but sex cult look at the sex cult let’s spend more time with them than the main charecter” there was a LOT they could’ve done and it’s really interesting because it was his son instead of a lover? And his kid was 5 which is a whole other layer on top of it. As much as I want him to be with his son. I like the original ending where he fails and is a wandering spirt a whole lot better. It makes sense, wonderful tragedy and they really shoehorn fixed the ending literal last minute so it suffers because of it. (Also his face paint being his sons paints is everything)

Salvation is hands down the worst of them, it had a LOT going for it? Like a man’s wrongly killed by the state instead of a gang it’s a whole other layer, but it suffers the same weakness of to much focus on the villains and how fucking bonkers they are? It’s like they just wanted to make them more insane(the orignal goes out of irs way to show they are bad people but still?? Human at the end of the day, Funboy in the comics  specifically. Salutation also had the weakest love interest? I cannot for the life of me care about Lauren. She’s- there’s nothing there besides the mystery  surrounding her and it sucks? Espically seeing how much it tears Alex apart and how much pain he feels but- it’s weakened by remembering how - plain she was, you know?

It is the weakest movie but a strong concept some of the stuff I like is that he has no makeup it’s literally just the scars on his face and how - a way of getting the power is making them willingly give it up. Tricking them into thinking they’re done. I also love this moment where Alex talks with the bird over the police files “I guess there’s nothing under crow” you can see the annoyance in a literal birds eyes and it’s hysterical. I love how Alex is the youngest of all the crows and he acts like it! I keep calling him “bird boy” he genuinely acts like one- and has the eyes of a bird it’s not even funny.

I may sound insane by saying this but wicked prayer is my favorite of the sequels. Now it suffers the WORST by being in the 2000s and by focusing on the villains WAY to much (seriously they get more time then Jimmy, the main fucking charecter, because they got David Boreanaz). However Edward Furlong goes WAY harder then he had to. His performance is so raw, honest and just wonderful the whole movie and it sucks that it gets overshadowed by the wack ass writing of everyone else. The movie turns to comedy half way through and he’s the only one still playing it straight… it’s kinda sad because his performance and Emmanuelle’s are so good but the writing went to shit. Its love story is the strongest since Eric and Shelly. I genuinely feel for Jimmy and Lilly. Espically considering the layer of their murder and the fact he may loose her forever- without her eyes she’d be damned to the spirit world and it’s the fact he’d rather be damned to then anywhere without her and it’s - ah - it’s great. While the comedy part and cartoonish villains do suck and really don’t fit the film or the point they did get a genuine laugh or two out of me, I religiously quote “is it really you?! The original Ganster?” Because it ducking- it’s great. It’s so bad it’s a great line.

Jimmy is also just great. Emotionally and his sarcasm carry half the movie

None of them are really….good. Or carry half the punch of the original movie or comic. Because the reasons above but also because they don’t come from the same pain? They don’t come from the genuine pain and loss James wrote the graphic novel from- they aren’t personal or  vulnerable in the same right. You can tell it comes from Hollywood, from a team of writers trying to strike gold again but failing to see the point isn’t action or violence but the fact at its core it’s a love story. It’s sad because I genuinely think they all could’ve been great if it wasn’t for everything. I don’t know.

Reviews while I watch Farming Life in Another World: Episode 12 Finale

I was debating whether to catch up on shows that I was behind on or finish the shows that have just finished airing that I’m up to date on. I have decided to do the latter as its a nice conclusion and I am not rushing the other shows just to finish right now. 

Anyways. Time for a finale to a show that I thought was just going to be another Harem isekai. I was very wrong on that fact and have actually really enjoyed the show up until this point. I really hope they can do the ending justice. Time for a baby. 

And as for tradition. I must watch the opening in the final episode. This show really wants to be a harem anime but really plays on that fact and makes jokes with it. 

The couple is so cute. How?

Ha. They're distraught that she can’t drink alcohol.

Ha they want to sell of the alcohol. That's priceless. And the Dwarves are now sad. Shame.

So a bartering system doesn’t work because you can’t equate how much something is worth compared to something else. Yet. How do you put a worth on how much something costs. It’s literally just a middle man. Let’s use the one they use in the show. If one apple is worth three coins, and a strawberry is worth one coin then an apple is still worth three strawberries. How does one decide how much shit costs. It doesn’t make much sense to me. “to eliminate turmoil” welcome to the real world, people hike up prices to earn more money. 

Also “Reward medals?” for how hard they work? That’s just a salary. 

Yeah. This is going to be great. In a system that didn’t go poorly and now they have money and people will go broke. What happens if people go broke?

Everyone is drunk. 

The guy that quit the demon place is back!

Expansion time. Potential set up for a season 2?

It felt weird typing that for the first time. Wow. 

This show seriously surprised me. I would not be against watching this again soon. It was really wholesome but also extremely chaotic. I liked the mix of characters and how they decided to resolve conflict. I love the fact that people were scared of the place. That to me was hilarious. 

I was really sceptical about this show when I started but it really defied my expectations by flipping around many tropes and the way it’s story progressed as I mentioned in the opening of this post. 

The art style was really cute - especially the animals. I wish they had continued a bit more with the video game like graphics but that's a minor thing. Some story beats were wack and it would have been nice to flesh out some of the main cast a little more but honestly overall that was really well done. 

I thoroughly enjoyed that and would look forward to a season two if they decided to renew it. 

And that is officially a wrap on  Farming Life in Another World. 

It was a great 8/10

Finding the First Gay Kiss - Diary of a Big Ole Gay: 12/9/22

Coney Island (1917) dir by Roscoe Fatty Arbunkle

So this is one of the more transphobic films so far and honestly not the vibe. If you are like me and you keep looking up pictures of Fatty Arbunkle in drag for "research" then you will have seen him in a bathing outfit. In fact I saw a clip of this in disclosure and nobody chose to credit fatty arbunkle in this so I could watch.

The actually plot is beyond annoying we have the classic henpecked husband trope, (tbh I find the trope intresting just because its such a different marital dynamic then I'm used to seeing in film), who goes to coney island. Buster Keatons girlfriend just fucking leaves him cause he can't pay for tickets so he sneaks into the fair to do shaninagans. who the fuck cares its buster Keaton I would watch that man do anything.

at some point Fatty wants to go swimming but the clerk is fatphobic to him so the obvious answer to this problem is of course crossdressing. I still absolutely love how this is the solution for everything in these films its refreshing after growing up in the 2000s

also buster keaton does a backflip.

The actually cross dressing elements become quickly problamatic. Its like if fatty arbunkle did so wack cocaine and one of his orgys and dream walked into the mind of a 21st century terf before he wrote the script. its a lot of sexual predators, (fatty), invading women's spaces and men being "tricked" by fattys drag persona. and don't get me wrong its not like there isn't other gender shaninagans in these role reversal films but this one is just recognizable transphobic. Like it plays off tropes and narratives I recognize from modern discourse just in the same way that behind the screen was a recognizable "fairy" trope.

I Don't Want To Be a Man (1918) dir Ernst Lubistch

so this film sucks in the sense that I hate the characters and its super sexist but you do have this character in boy mode absolutely making out with a guy heres a quote from my LB review.

Its at this point we get to the stage of HOW GAY WAS IT! because essentialy what happens is that Occi gets drunk AF and starts making out with a dude.

Now I feel that even though objectively this was some straight shit since she identifies as a women its still siturationally queer, I've been watching a lot of these "Role-Reversal" comedies back to back and there really isn't a concept of passing in these films even in siturations in which a character is very clearly cross dressing, (Mabel's Blunder and the Porter from The ABC of Love) come to mind the characters are unable to distinguish them from there presentation. I also don't think that this suspension of disbelief is set specifically to this era either. Even modern films like ugh... Shes The Man present these cross-dressing as serving masc with the suspicion presented being about performance not presentation. 

Side Note: A lot of these types of films absolutely reek with transphobic and homophobic "comedy"

So in the scope of the narrative and genre, I have to assume that Occi presents fully as male in these scenes and that the other characters are interacting with her in boymode. Which to me means that when the guy kisses her, thats gay. Its gay because he was had the absolute attention of kissing a man at the time dispite him not having all the available information. 

Also he was like totally surprised when he found out she was a women so like honestly we stan this bisexual disaster right here. 

like sure I don't love this film but like her DADDY being bisexual is kinda hawt.

Side note: I'm using the term daddy to refur to this love interest character who is present as moralizing and domineering. Its usually paired with a "wild child" who needs to be taught to settle down and you know be a "respectable women" think Angel and the Bad Man, theres this fucked up conflation of a male love interest as being both sexual desirable and paternal its very fruedian.

(I couldn't find that scene where Clint Eastwood beats his wife and its presented as totally chill so heres the only picture under "spanking" that isn't literal porn)

Yankee Doodle in Berlin (1919) dir F. Richard Jones

So yeah this is just a comedy where a guy dresses in drag. Bothwell Browne was a female impersanator from europe and while I don't believe he had very many film gigs he was of a similar celebrity as Julien Eltinge. Eltinge himself starred in a similar propaganda flick whose name escapes me.

These films were playing off of the public interest of vauldeville and female impersanation so its a lot more family friendly drag show then any thing queer and subversive.

Interesting history note but not great otherwise.

Ander die Als Anderan {Different from the others} (1919) dir. Richard Oswald

ok so I have exactly one minute to finish this blog so I'm just gonna paste the whole ass history of this film from my working script on the subject.

Ok so I was really excited to get to this film but first I need to talk about post world war 1 Germany, yaasssss bitch, its the part of every video that I just accidentally bring up the rise of Fascism, woopsie. But First Homophobia. 

This film is heavily concerned with the appeal of section 175 which those who know there gay history immediately recognize. Section or paragraph 175 was a german law that and I’m simplifying here, criminalizes Homosexual Activity. It was based off of medieval anti-sodomy laws and during different parts of Germanys history it has existed in more lenient and draconic measures. 

This measure was protested by a variety of people notable the Scientific Humanitarian Committee which was founded in 1897 and the World League for Sexual Reform in 1921 both founded by one Magnus Hirshfield. Hirshfield was a sexologist and while he wasn’t the only person or first person involved in this fight he was very influential. Now once again simplifying but a pet theory that was going around europe at the time was this idea of degeneration. Bitch do I need to explain eugenics to you. So Hirshfield with his queens and eggheads were like um actually Reich und Lander being homosexual isn’t literally a suicide gene meant to destory civilization its actually just a natural variation of humanity. Hirschfield referred to it as being a sexual intermediary or Third Sex, this notion of being between the dicometric poles in nature, Your’ve may have heard the phrase Sexual Invert as well all from the same well you get it. 

In 1919 Hirshfield founded the Institite fur sexualwissenkraft, which was a non-profit dedicated to researching queer identity and also provided education and medical resources, for instance being involved with the transition of Danish Painter Lili Elbe. During the same year an austrian director by the name of Richard Osward teamed up with hirshfield to make a Aufklärungsfilm, or sexual enlightment film. Basically an education film about a taboo subject like drugs or the gays. 

The film was supposedly very successful but in 1920, the republic established a censorship board and Different from the Others was reduced to only being able to be shown to clergy and doctors for educational purposes. There was however a shortened version included in another documentary called Laws of Love in 1927 that just so happened to make its way to Ukraine. Keep a pin in that. 

Unfortunately as we all know in 1933 The Nazis official took power and in may of the same year The German Student Union called “Action against the Un-German Spirit” which called for the destruction of any work that went against nazis ideals, Hirshfield being a Jewish Kinkster was obvioiusly on the list, The German Student Union broke into the Institute fur Sexualwissenkraft and tore down the thousands of books, films and other documents and burned them including of course the full version of Anders als die Anderen. Like that in one day in may, one of the largest resources of queer knowledge was destroyed. 

As Tragic as it is luckily the frost didn’t get to all the potatoes. Remember that copy of Laws of Love well luckily historians managed to get ahold of it so the world at least has a glimpse of hirshfields original intention. 

Well now that I spent a good what 15 minutes telling you about the cultural baggage this film has I guess I should probably talk about whether or not the gay kiss happens. 

Well yes and know most of the film is concerned about how kinda fucked up how Section 175 is and while the movies straight up is like Hello I’m a homosexual can I have some rights please. Its actually pretty light on the pda. Its definitely queer Hirshfield wanted to “Usualize” Queer experience so we have people cruising in a ballroom and so forth but the closest we get to a gay kiss is through implication, where we have to young school boys lean in and then a fade to black. Like we definitely know what was going on but we don’t get to see it.

Netlfix, seriously, just go ahead and announce season 2 because we ALL want it. I NEED it so badly just, do it do it do it.

In all seriousness, as for as YA book adaptation, this is top notch if not the best adaptation I've seen. The cast was A+, nailing the characters so beautifully and bringing life to some that I really didn't fully appreciate in the books. Specifically Archie with Mal, credits to him and the writers (and Leigh) for really working to make him a stronger, fully developed character. It was so well done and I am really rooting for them more so than I was in the books.

Crow wise. Brilliant. Absolutely fucking brilliant. Kit, Freddy, Amita, Danielle, Calahan; literally the most perfect casting. Period. I was so incredibly nervous when the show was announced how casting would go for the crows. They're my favorites, ones that I really treasured and when I tell you just the cast photo I had a feeling this was going to go well. Well was an understatement. I was absolutely blown away by how well they nailed the Crows. The humor, the small gestures, the teasing and comments; absolutely perfect. I have only one complaint, the same as Kit: GIVE ME WYLAN!!!

Also,Jessie as Alina, round of applause as well. I didn't mind her character in the book, but in the show I felt more connected and really was cheering for her and I have to give that to Jessie. Like Archie, she did a great job bringing the character to life and making her enjoyable, more fully developed tbh. I don't even need to go into Ben because I despise the Darkling as much as I did in the books so I'd say he was fucking brilliant.

The fact their budget was limited, they somehow was able to create a world so beautiful so incredibly well done and oddly inviting. The costumes, the sets, even the Fold looked nearly inviting. It all seemed so well done, so well put together and as I imagined it for the most part. The display of Grisha power was not corny but subtle and well created, not overdone like some like to do. It was believable and so cool to see displayed on tv.

Honest to god this is, to me at least, by far the best YA book adaptation in a long, LONG time. This coming from a HP, Twilight, Series of Unfortunate Events fan. I've seen YA books fail so badly (Euragon, ugh the heartbreak of that disaster) or just, be so flat it hurts...looking at you Twilight. Some having a cast that just, despises the entire book and movie all together, others so well connected and done so brilliantly only for the story to be torn to bits in some parts that you're left wondering if you read the same book at times (HP, never forgive you for that final battle scene, wtf was even that??). But for real, this had the perfect cast, perfect sets & editing, amazing music, fantastic writing to piece it all together and overall was just...absolutely amazing. Definitely going to be something I rewatch over and over and over again till the next season.

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts

I couldn’t help but describe this as “Baby’s First Fantasy Adventure” like The Dragon Prince. It looks good, colorful, imaginative enough, but nothing about the story or characters pushed me to watch past episode 3 because I’ve no doubt seen stuff like this before but more interesting. It’s a good watch no doubt, but hardly groundbreaking to me. (Grade: C+)

The Owl House

Now this was more my speed. I definitely enjoyed the various designs of monsters and average Boiling Isle citizens far more. Eda immediately became my favorite witch character. While it reminded me a little too much of Gravity Falls, I was honestly hooked for more than just it’s otherwise eye opening demonic aesthetics. (Grade: B+)

Dorohedoro

Now THIS is a post apocalyptic series I’ve been waiting for in a while. Q really put together a world worth checking out, seeing its nooks and crannies, while giving us characters worth exploring with at every angle. She especially does a great job manga-wise where the black and white makes the edgy details pop in a meaningful way. The anime itself is just as good. Brought down by some wonky action scenes and movements, but the blend of 2D and 3D worked better than the Beastars anime. (Grade: A)

Keep Your Hands Off the Eizouken!

Talked about it plenty of times before, but this is that series that just speaks for itself, manga and anime. Smooth pacing, no contrived drama bullshit, hardly leaves any loose ends, easily accessible for anyone. It's the DMC5 of anime, meaning it is the most 'anime' anime I've seen thus far. (Grade: A++) 

Duncanville

Surprisingly not a wack family sitcom. The characters are what really sell the comedy, except for Duncan himself who’s not terrible but isn’t great as the star of the show, especially compared to his mom; and it’s weird cuz they share the same VA. Plus it’s actually well animated and stylized compared to the average Family Guy knockoff. It’s worth a check out in my book. (Grade: B)

Thundercats Roar

Oh wow, a nostalgia cartoon reboot that everyone will argue over but at the end of the day, is about as average as it gets. While I can appreciate the animation when it gets dynamic during its action scenes, I came out every episode remembering nothing and moving on. If I wanted a half hour centered around safe memes or forgettable punchlines, I would’ve subscribed to Jimmy Kimmel or ankle-beez by now. (Grade: C)

Harley Quinn series

This was a left fielder for me; the trailer gave a far different impression than expected. I can definitely appreciate how they treated not only Harley’s character, her relationship with Joker vs Ivy, but the rouge gallery of DC villains and heroes. What other DC product got me to love King Shark as much as this? Plus, Harley x Ivy are the OTP, but I appreciate them giving Kite Man some respect. (Grade: A-)

Birds of Prey

I didn’t mind the movie, but it lacked that dry punch that Harley’s series gave me. It was kinda the reason why I’ve seen people say Harley was becoming DC’s Deadpool type. even when Harley was a good star of the film. Didn’t help that Black Canary and Huntress were the only other characters I liked, and I don’t wanna get into the implicating homophobia. I want to say Sionis was great, but he doesn’t work when you have both the villain and protagonist be unhinged. All in all, I’ll give it the same score I gave Deadpool 1. (Grade: C+)

Dolittle (2020)

The movie’s climax was a long dragon fart and I wanted to die. (Grade: D)

Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)

A live action video game movie about an animated character. Let me put it like this: references and fanservice is not substance, taking place in the human populace does not help the escapism, reminding me that Olive Garden sucks ass is not funny, and only being half animated is cock and ball torture. If I don’t care for realism in my video games, this DOESN’T help. It has a couple good moments, but this is mostly unimaginative, by the book, and not worth going back to. Works as a Flash movie, I guess.  (Grade: C-)

Sonic Rebuilt

Sincerely the chad Sonic film of this year. Even when it’s a reanimated version of the 90s film, the creativity every artist applies for their respective scene brings better life to the original film like with Shrek Retold. Yeah, there’s live action segments in it, but it’s part of the gag not a crux of the film’s visuals. It isn’t fully original since they use the original’s voice work and music, but everyone involved gave a genuinely good spin on the pretty overlooked feature. Plus it has a Sonic that gets shit done and has the better voice. (Grade: A-)

Ishuzoku Reviewers

Kono anime wa igaito shinsendesu. Bōru o korogashi tsudzukeru hōhō o shitte imashita. Sore wa yoi owarai de, kesshite mumide wa arimasendeshita. Itsumo mitakatta ano etchina shirīzudeshita. (Grade: A-)

Meggy’s Destiny

The plot has its low points, but this is still an entertaining short film. The characters were what kept the ball rolling and the ending was that coup de gras on the main character’s overall story arc. (Grade: B+)

Trolls World Tour

This film works better than the first to me mainly because we can focus on Trolls and their musical world rather than the Bergens who didn’t offer much. The plot is simple, but it being a multi-genre musical kept me hooked. The finale especially was that cherry on top of this bouncy film. Also Poppy is still the best. (Grade: B+)

Glitch Techs

It stands to say Men in Black meets Captain N and Pixels works well as a premise for a show, and this certainly delivered by actually being ANIMATED. I’m sorry, but can corporations soon understand that premises and ideas that work better with animation stop trying to make it live action? Also, it brought Fanboy and Chum Chum back from the dead, and that is a worthwhile achievement. (Grade: A)

Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons

They’re honestly the same game from what I got to play. AC was a little more stressful than Doom, especially with managing my stalks, but they were both nonetheless an all around great time so they get the same score. (Grade: A)

Steven Universe Future

Had some shit episodes, had some delightfully fun episodes, and had a half shit/half delightful finale. Pretty on par for Steven Universe but I say it’s elevated above most of the original series with the grown Steven himself. Much as I wish his character was dealt with better, I was still invested in his story nonetheless even when the fixed perspective honestly fucked over most else in this series. It’s far better than season 5, not as good as seasons 1 & 2. So yeah, I liked it and I’m gonna miss this show. (Grade: B-)

Onward

The ending doesn’t make up for a pretty middle of the road film. If I wanted a film about familiar bonding in a goofy fantasy world, I could’ve just watched A Goofy Movie. The world feels creative enough, but it’s like Pixar has been losing their touch or mostly peaked when it comes to imaginative premises. I’m hoping Soul can bounce ‘em back cuz while this isn’t the worst, certainly didn’t feel like their best. (Grade: C+)

Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Review

Since I’m getting closer to the ending of Ghost, I’d thought I’d post my review of Ex-Aid. I know it’s been a while since I finished the show but it took me a while to digest it and get all my thoughts together without raging. This is gonna be a controversial one. I know a lot of people love Ex-Aid, but if you’ve been watching my liveblogs, you probably know how this review is gonna end

Still trying to find a suitable review style so I hope you like the one I came up with. Without further ado, let’s get this over with… What I Liked: -The Opening:  I freakin’ love Excite! It’s one of the best toku theme songs. Every time I’d watch an episode of Ex-Aid, I would sit through the opening just to listen to this song. It’s that good. Too bad for like 10-12 episodes it was more like an ending song but I didn’t mind it too much.

-Kiriya: Kiriya was, without a doubt, the best character in this show. Loved his lying ass personality. Loved his Hawaiian shirts. Had a pretty heartbreaking backstory and every time he was on screen he was a joy to watch. Also his actor’s hot

- The Game Driver and the Gasthats: At first I wasn’t sure about them. They’re so campy looking with their design and the neon bright colors, but over time I grew to really like them. They’re so different compared to other Rider belts. An odd one but I find when the belt says “GASHATO” very satisfying. -Kuroto and Masamune Actors:  I love how much fun they’re having playing their characters. I’ve heard Kuroto’s actor is the one that gave him the crazy personality and Masamune’s actor is a famous musician and carries his gashat to his shows. I think that’s really sweet. 

-Brave and Para-DX design: All his forms are great. He’s the best looking rider in my opinion in this show next to Para-DX who designs is just gorgeous. I’m still not a fan of the eyes on the visor, but they work better on them than the other suits.

-Taiga and Nico: Taiga by himself is an emo asshole who withheld the “treatment” of a patient because he wanted a gashat, but when he’s with Nico he’s tolerable. They’re dynamic made me kind of like him as the show went on. I’ve heard what the brave and snipe movie does to him, however I’m only basing his personality on the show, not the movies. In the show, he did get better. He was still an asshole, but less so in later episodes. And Nico, while annoying and bratty, I enjoyed her overall. Together, they had some of the more memorable moments in the show for me. -The Saki Revival Scene: That one scene when Masamune releases Saki and she keeps saying “Become the world's best doctor” is amazingly well done. How there’s no music when Saki keeps repeating her line and her face is glitching out. The tone of that scene was phenomenal. What I Didn’t Like: -Emu: Despite the fact that I put him in the “Didn’t Like” section, I don’t think Emu is a bad character. It’s his characterization I hae a problem with. He’s super inconsistent. Generally, he’s an empathetic person, but sometimes he uses that empathy in the wrong ways. Both Taiga and Hiiro hate him for a good 3/4ths of the show and multiple times Emu considers them his friends. Then there’s the scene with Kuroto where Emu says “he’s a good person.” That whole speech made me good “What the fuck is wrong with you, Emu?!” considering Kuroto killed Kiriya, Emu’s friend! The whole “M” personality part of him was not handled well. There are times throughout the show where I wasn’t even sure who was who. When you can tell who is who, like the one time Parad possesses Emu, he doesn’t know how Emu talks...even though he’s supposed to be “M” and should know how Emu speaks… I don’t know if that’s Emu’s actor, Hiroki Iijima, not being able to act as “M” or Yuya Takahashi not knowing how to write a character with a split personality. Whatever it was, the split personality part was very hard to follow. There’s also times where Takahashi tries to make Emu a badass and it comes off very awkward and out of character. One scene I wanna bring up is the one where Emu straight-up murders Parad. There’s no build-up to it, no foreshadowing, no indication whatsoever. He brutally beats up Parad and “kills him.” All to teach him a lesson about humanity and death. It’s so out of character and cruel for a character that’s supposed to be empathetic and caring. And all because we needed another “shock death.” It felt like Takahashi wanted to do this scene and he was going to do it no matter how little sense it made.

Hiiro: The hot embarrassing himbo.There’s being tsundere and then there’s being a dick and Hiiro is a massive dick. I got where Takahashi wanted to go with him. Hiiro is a man who lost someone he loved and he is still suffering from it, however, in my opinion it wasn’t executed well. The only scenes we see of Hiiro and his girlfriend, Saki, together before she “dies” are when he’s being a total dick to her and when she succumbs to the virus. That’s it. If we had scenes where they were a loving couple, I could be more sympathetic to Hiiro but he’s no different before Saki died and after. He’s just an asshole and yes, I get that some people are simply assholes, but if you want me to care about your character then don’t make them assholes without subsistence! This whole subplot could have been half the length with how long they dragged it out too. Speaking of which… Saki: Who is Saki? What did she like to do? What dreams did she have that didn’t center around her boyfriend? Saki was a McGuffin. A McGuffin for Hiiro to obtain. Hell, I think even Masamune describes Saki as a princess trapped in a castle at one point. She was an object. I really hate saying that but there’s no better way to describe it. She’s an object in human form for our heroes to obtain. If Saki was given a character at all, I wouldn’t be as pissed as I am with her treatment. Taiga: What is better than a character that’s an asshole for no reason? How about TWO characters that are assholes for no reason! Taiga wasn’t interesting by himself. I didn’t care about him or his “struggles” (which barely got to see in the show proper anyway) The only times he was was when he’s with Nico, but other than that I really didn’t care for him.

Kuroto: The villain of the first half of the show that becomes a meme. I don’t have too much to say about Kuroto, just that it’s clear Takahashi had a set plan for Kuroto that got thrown away once he came back. His character was done better in Build with Gentoku and from what I’m hearing about Zero-One, Gai as well. 

Parad: Creepy gremlin that should not have been "M" “ I didn’t understand life that couldn’t continue.” No you understood, you lying sack a shit. In all seriousness, Parad never felt like he was a “full character” to me. He always felt like nothing more than a lackey like Graphite. Speaking of Graphite…

Graphite: If there was an award for the most wasted character in toku, he’d be it. He was the bugster created from Saki’s death. He was Hiiro’s and Taiga’s antagonist and what did they do with him? Throw him under the bus for half the show, force his ass back and then he dies a few episodes later… what a character The Tone:  This was the worst aspect of this show for me. One moment, there will be a serious scene and then a second later, wack zany shinanigines happenes. Like the whole scene where Hiiro and Emu are talking about Kiriya’s death and Emu trips over himself. Or when a character dies and the voice pops in with cheery fanfair and says “GAME CLEAR” It’s like this show wants to tell this deep dramatic, story but you got clowns running aorund in the background honking. 

Overall Thoughts: This show wasn’t for me. I couldn’t take it as seriously as it wanted me to. I could go on and on about Ex-Aid but I think this sums up my feelings fairly well. I have a lot of Rider shows to get to. Who knows maybe there will be a season worst than this one but for right now Kamen Rider Ex-Aid is the worst season I’ve seen yet. It goes in the “trash” tier. 

(I have watched Kamen Rider Black and Gaim, but it’s been YEARS since I’ve seen them and I don’t feel confident to rank them with how long ago I’ve watched them. Also I’m ranking Amazons season 1. Haven’t watched season 2 yet)

revolutionary girl utena review

ep 1-5

the plot is actually kinda different from what I thought ?? in my mind the plot was: utena was a girl in a princess school who each and every princess would be "conquered" (for a lack of better words rn) in a ceremonial duel by a prince who fancied them, maybe she didnt wanna wanna marry anyone or she liked Anthy already but anyway in my mind utena showed up in the ceremony with duel clothing and then, in a very brave tm like-scene, she would openly declare she refused to be conquered by anyone and tbh I'm not even sure how Anthy would come into the plot... but back into what actually happened in the episodes everything so far is very introductory and just showing what mechanics will be explored further down the line I think?? the op is really good too

also every boy so far reminds me so much of knights of the zodiac?? maybe it's just the design I guess...) and nanami can get these hands, jealousy is a disease and she's the sickest person on earth for all I know

I feel like the main thing on the episodes are parallels, one way or another I always feel like they're setting up parallels and giving me clues for a bigger picture and a deeper plot arc that is still to come and the bet on it fmv just made this impression stronger, also I wanna say it's done in a good way, one that is both mysterious (??) and "honey you've got a big storm coming" at the same time 🤔🤔 much to think about honestly

↳ just saw ep 11 and even though I already knew this was coming sooner or later it still felt like crap seeing utena lose to dick head, at the end of the episode when he says anthy was always just reflecting utena's own wishes for himemiya (in another way bc I dont remenber the exact words) it felt like 😐 bc yes I knew that (the way she was working her thoughts was simply a copy and paste of what utena was saying) at all time I kept those essays about anthy in my head, I dont think theyll be truly relatable to what I'm seeing rn but yeah anthy rights (even though I know you betray/cheat on utena down the line bc of the bet on it fmv but I'm sure you had your own motivation)

↳ saw ep 12 bc I just couldnt handle being in a cliffhanger and yeah it happened what I absolutely thought it would lmao not that it was that difficult to foresee but yeah, I kinda liked how utena did it for her instead of being like "oh I wanna save anthy from touga" and treating her like a damsel in distress (I know that's kinda her position as the rose bride for what I've been told so far and that this is a subject spoken about in many many essays on tumblr but yeah) bc so far she's been treated as a trophy and a way to get something else, for the green haired guy it was a way to see something eternal, for miki it was a way to hold on into his "shining thing" and for touga it seems (so far) like a way to manipulate (just like he does with nanami) and just mark his position as above everyone else as he seems to view himself?? man I might be saying random stuff rn but it kinda does makes sense in my mind with the information I've had to this point

ep 13-25

honestly 😐😐 through 9 whole episodes I felt like they were trying to make the side characters deeper and show their hidden face and motivations but it felt so shallow...... not even actually shallow, just not deep enough that it would make me care about these characters and the fact there was no actual build to showing us why we're getting to know these characters backgrounds was just kinda meh too, didnt really help that all episodes had all the same formula and the same timing just for the developers made in those episodes be forgotten at the end and also just that pink haired guy could be like "ah failure again", it felt like watching the same episode over and over again, it was really tiring and like?? girl help I do not care about these characters at all, I feel like it could have been done well (like the keiko ep in comparison to the furuba chapter that deals with the yuki appreciation (??) club president graduating.... the way this ep was done and setup didn't really bring me any emotions) overall not to my taste and tbh I feel like I could have skipped all those episodes except for maybe the miki and juri one so 😑

all nanami focused episodes are the worst so far, she's so boring and I cant stand now annoying she is, the diary episode?? the cow episode?? the episode when tsuwabiki fuels with utena?? honestly I know they're trying to show me a better and different side of her but it just doesnt!! work!! bc i feel no sympathy for her, my biggest wish rn is her and touga just disappearing and no more filler episodes🗣🗣

I thought akio was utena's prince?? but apparently he's just anthy's brother and like.. I'm do done with his little talks with utena and yadda yadda, I just wanna see their duel is that too much to ask I'm dying over here (if this lenga lenga continues until ep 25 i will be so mad bc why were so many episodes wasted on such boring and and not necessary side characters backstories?? idc about them at all man aaaaaaaaaa)

first of all, ep 25 was good but kinda reminded me of the nine episodes (13 until 21) where absolutely nothing interesting happened so I hope I'm wrong also can I just say just seeing the preview of the next episode made me roll my eyes so bad I almsot saw my brain?? bc yeah I'm fucking tired of nanami fosuced episodes she's so annoying oh my god nobody cares about a goddamn egg and much less one coming from her let her die or something pls she's so annoying there's nothing I've learned about her that was not against my own will I'm basically rotting over here 🤒

“The Album” by BLACKPINK: Album Review

✧･ﾟ: *✧･ﾟ:* 　How You Like That　 *:･ﾟ✧*:･ﾟ✧

Overall, I didn’t mind How You Like That, but, like most people, I didn’t quite like the production. I feel like it could’ve been improved a lot with a little bit more of a bass-filled undertone-ish thing. I was also a bit critical of the way it started out as a sort of... sad-sounding (albeit a bit plain) song... and then went into badassery. And lastly for the negative aspects, the whole cultural appropriation thing with the statue of Ganesh kind of irked me, although that had more to do with the music video than the song itself and I doubt was on the girls.

(Little rant on that: Who was like “let’s put this statue of Ganesh here” without thinking it would be a good day to know a thing about Ganesh? I’m so........)

On the upside, I loved the actual vocals and rap (especially Lisa’s part and the “Look at you, now look at me”s). I just felt like they belonged in different songs, and the production didn’t link them together. However, I really actually liked the way the chorus’s instrumental was, contrary to most people’s opinions.

Eh. Wouldn’t listen to this for fun, but just because it isn’t my taste. The one thing I did like was Rose’s parts (and the way the instrumental changed during Lisa’s part was cool), but other than that... It just wasn’t my cup of 🍵tea🍵. I... Ok, there is no respectful way to say this, fuck those little whistle things in the back. They remind me of... Kahoot or some shit. Something I would make at age 9. And all the high-pitched vocals also weren’t my thing. Now that I’m thinking about it again, I kind of liked the lyrics. They weren’t as bad as people acted like they were. At least they meant something.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

By far my favorite song off the album. The production was great, the delivery was great, everything was great although I’m not a huge fan of the “oh-oh-oh”s. Other than that, it’s all... Perfect.

This song wasn’t totally my style, but it would’ve been ok without Cardi B. I guess... She’s just a bad person. So songs with her in them are always difficult for me to enjoy. It’s cool the collab happened, but not really. I also didn’t really like her verse, it just didn’t seem right in the song. I would’ve liked the song more without it. :/

Even without the verse, this was kind of a song that reeked of potential but that wasn’t quite right. So I guess... I kind of liked it?

This is my second favorite song on the album probably, only because Pretty Savage was an uncontrollable bop (that word *semi-ironic sksksksksking*). The “born to be alone” seemed kind of generic, but I really liked the rap especially. The music video was also really cool. It reminded me of the “Stay” M/V.

The guitars had a nice 2NE1 style to them (so did Pretty Savage. I guess I just like the 2NE1 style a lot lol).

I also feel like even though the song wasn’t upbeat, it was a pretty complex song, and typically when those have a... I guess I call it the “clearance”, where the beat gets less complex and someone just sings in a pure style close to the closing part of the song. I’m sure there’s a real word for it. As I was saying, I feel like sometimes clearances in an otherwise complex song are not my thing, but I liked how it was done here. Also, the lyrics were pretty good.

Another favorite! The instrumental... Oh my God 😳 so many levels of amazing. I really liked the opening, it set a good scene. Also, I felt like this song was a good showcase of Lisa’s style. Really, just... Everything about this was so cool. I haven’t payed much attention to the lyrics so I can’t say this factually, but it really had a yandere vibe to it, and considering how much of a shitbag that YanSim guy is, the term “yandere” needs a new image hehehehe~

I think I was rather critical of How You Like That for having too many parts that didn’t sound like they belonged together, and while I did kind of feel that for some parts of Crazy Over You, I mainly actually appreciated the diverse styles that repeated throughout the song.

At first, this seemed way too generic, with the clapping sounds (is that the word? Lmfao this review has me noticing how many dumb terms I use in my heard which probably aren’t even that accurate). As soon as those sounds sped up, I was like, oh shit, it’s about to keep being generic by leading up to the generic-ass chorus with this...

But then that didn’t happen! And I really liked the way the chorus part was formed! Kind of made me visualize a sort of canyon of sound (more wack terminology) at first... I’ll admit that vision got a bit crushed by the next part, but it was cool while it lasted.

The chorus and the section around it was my favorite, and also the rap... I’m really appreciating the rap on this album, lol.

While I do feel like the album needed a song like You Never Know and I think it was a good decision to make it the closing song, I probably wouldn’t listen to this on my own time, you know? There was a lot of talent in it, but it seemed like the typical high-note-filled kind of sad bright white and pastel pink and blue (lol trans pride uwu) song... Yeah that doesn’t make sense, but hopefully anyone who reads this understands the style of song I am describing.

Average score:  7.375/10. I guess this sums up the quality of the songs, but I would actually give this album a 7.5 or 8 out of ten. My little BLINK heart went crazy when I saw the tracklist poster, because although there are only 8 songs, we’ve waited a long time for this and it made me very happy and no I did not cry what are you talking about shut up.

I also really liked the arrangement of the songs, and I liked that Jisoo and Jennie had credits on the lyrics and Jennie did some of the production. 🥺

I really enjoyed the album. 🖤💟

so i finished hamatora. i’ve always wanted to talk about the animes ive watched but never get the chance to so ill just spill my thoughts out. so a new thing on my blog? anime reviews but its just my subjective opinion? fuck yeah! if you dont want to read the rest, its ok. heres my score: 8.5/10

summary: hamatora is about this group of people who have these abilities called minimums. they get hired by people to do stuff for them like solve cases or body guarding. one day, they get a job that is connected to a serial killer and they have to find that serial killer with their detective friend.

things i like about it: oh boy, i have a lot to say. i really like the main cast of characters. their designs are very unique and you can tell each of them apart. you cant really hate a character (unless theyre evil, duh) and they feel like one big happy family. i always love it when the cast of characters feel like a family to me. it makes me super warm and fuzzy inside.

second thing i really like: the animation. the animation in it are great. in the first season, its colorful and its unique. it really pops out from other anime with its color schemes and character designs. episode 5 of season one was an animation train wreck tbh but we can forget about its existence. i really like how they toned down the colors in later episodes, especially season 2. its really evident when they start activating their minimums in season 2. i have no idea if it is because of the budget or animation studio but im glad that they toned it down. it was hard to look at.

story was, aight. got really confusing at times and somewhat boring at the talking parts but thats just me with any anime. i dont really like long talking parts. it all really clicked together at the end and it wrapped everything with a nice bow on top. i cant find any loopholes, i dont have the brain for that.

another thing i like: THE PROTAGONIST. his? minimum? is? super? cool? and? hes? pretty? hot? every time he is on screen i just, cry. hes so cool god i love him sm.  

look at him... perfection

last thing i like is the season 2 op god damn. its so good. sen no tsubasa? absolutely wonderful its great perfection. i cant pass it on osu sadly… things i dislike: i put some dislikes in the likes oops. but ill restate them and add on some more stuff one thing i disliked is when the characters used their minimums. the filter they use... it hurts my eyes. super grateful they got rid of that in season 2.

look at this shit. wack. its very unique but it just... hurts to look at.

another dislike: the fighting. i wish the fights were longer and more thought out. like, more strategic fighting. but this anime is more mystery based so ill let that slide.

this next dislike is a spoiler so skip it if you havent finished re: hamatora:

i really disliked how they put in the romance at the end. hajime and nice barely interact in all of hamatora. they shove in the chemistry at the end of the series to act as a motivation for nice. they didnt need to force the romance for a motivation, them being friends is fine.

i was gonna write down my before/after thoughts, but im really lazy right now so ill leave it here. i sorta wish this series was more popular and had some kind of fandom around it. really underrated.

“I can’t believe you’re still not unpacked yet.  Hasn’t it been almost a week since you moved?”

The voice came from Sasha’s laptop.  She was busy multi-tasking while video-chatting with her best friend Pierce.  Well she could see his face IF she turned over from rummaging through boxes and laying out things on the floor.  Some might consider this rude, but Pierce just found it a little hilarious.

“Look it’s a lot of stuff okay?  Besides, I was busy this week going back and forth with work preparations and trying to get the layout of the place,” Sasha said with a huff, looking over her shoulder at the computer.

“Sounds like too much work. You should’ve just stayed home. What’s wrong with waiting a few more years before moving out?”

“Nothing.  Nothing’s wrong with it.  I just...”

“Wanted to break your best friend’s heart?” Pierce gives a very exaggerated pout.  Sasha turns around and smiles coyly.  She crawls over to the computer and lays in front of it, resting her chin on folded arms.

“No.  Even though you kind of deserve it sometimes.”

“I COULD always go easy on you in pool you now?  I don’t mind toning it down.  You’re not gonna beat me otherwise.”

“First off, I don’t want a pity play from you.  Second, you know damn well how close I got last game.”

“Yeah, only to hit the eight-ball into the complete opposite pocket you called. Gotta say, it was almost impressive how you hilariously made a masterful bounce into the wrong fucking pocket,” he grins, holding back his laughter.

“Well I mean that counts as skill doesn’t it?”

“Yeah like scoring a basketball shot for the other team.”

“Whatever, jerk.”

“But back on topic…”

“Okay yeah, look.  I love my hometown, my parents, and even your obnoxious butt.  But I just…didn’t want to get rooted.  I didn’t want to be living with my parents the whole time.  I didn’t want to know ONLY my home.”

“You worry too much.  The rest of the world’s not going to get up and leave if you take too long to hit the road Sasha.”

“I know that, but I wanted…a challenge.”

“A challenge?  You?  I thought you liked everything neat and controlled.  You want to throw things out of wack now?”

“Nothing elaborate.  Just a life challenge.  Take care of my own expenses and start from the ground up.  Meet people on my own and establish a career.”

“I feel like you’re letting your childhood slip away here.”

“Pierce, we’re not kids.”

“YOU sure as hell aren’t.  You always took freakin part-time jobs during college, and full-time jobs in the summer. I had to DRAG you out to the pub and parties for your own sanity.”

“Well moving and covering the cost of living is EXPENSIVE, Pierce.”

“Jesus, how much did you have saved up?”

“Enough so that I could get a place living by myself,” Sasha smiled proudly.

“Not that I don’t think that’s an impressive achievement girl, but I think I would have felt a little better if you had a roommate.  You’re out there by yourself I mean.”

“Look I worked hard for this, so I want my privacy.  I also didn’t really feel comfortable with finding a roommate way out here.”

“You didn’t pick your roommate in college either though.”

“Yeah, but that was our local college Pierce.  I had friends and family right nearby, so if things got weird I had help.  I’m a few hours away from all that now.”

“A ‘few hours’ you say.  It’s like, you’ve gone too short a distance to even warrant a move, and yet just far enough to making it a hassle with visits.”

“I disagree.  I think it’s the perfect distance.  I wanted to be able to visit home, but I didn’t want the temptation to go running home every chance I could get.  Not impossible to go home though.  The point here Pierce is for me to be ‘independent,’” she huffed.

“Whatever.” Pierce rolled his eyes.

“Say what you will, the deed is done.”

“So uh…Rockland.  Why?”

Sasha shrugged.  “No particular reason.  Just seemed like the best choice.  I looked at job advertisements for surrounding areas by distance, looked at their reviews and job pay and what kind of areas they were located at.  The job in Rockland was just better pay from my current job, and the place is small but still attracts tourists.  Means I don’t have to worry about being overwhelmed, but at the same time it SHOULD have just enough amenities and attractions to keep me entertained.”

“Oh?  Entertain yourself huh?  Last I checked that was my job.  Isn’t your idea of fun sitting at a café and going through files?” He smirked.

“Very funny.  Did you forget all the movies we’d watch together too?  I don’t need a buddy for that, and I’ll find other hobbies here. Maybe I’ll start running again.”

“Well good.  Not like you’re gonna get any excitement from your current job.  I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to push yourself to do something a little more interesting.”

“Thaaat’s what the hobbies are for Pierce.  The job is just for stability.”

“Could have added a little more drama to your life if you’d just decided to follow your namesake.”

“Pierce, literally no one in my family has ever been a detective.  DESPITE our last name.  It’s just a random name picked by a random author for a character that became randomly popular.  It is not a go ahead to pursue a career in criminal justice.”

“Seriously, why has NO ONE in your family ever tried to be a detective?”

“Because it requires you to see a lot of messed up shit?  I think I’ll pass.  I mean…if it makes you feel better, I had a great uncle who was a PI.”

“Really?? What was that like!?” Pierce looked a little excited.

“Honestly?  From the stories I heard, he just got a lot of crazies paying him.  People paranoid about being stalked or just using him as a way to harass others.  Wasn’t exactly fun work.”

“Bummer,” he said in a dejected tone.  “Well, I guess if you’re in a place like Rockland, probably wouldn’t get much action anyway.”

“What makes you say that?  Haven’t you been here before?”

“Just SOUNDS plain to me.  LITERALLY makes me think of rocks.  Yeah I’ve been there.  But that was like, when I was a kid?  Just visiting.  Was never for long.  Uncle was there.”

“Right.  Younger you was probably also too busy running around and sticking his hands in the dirt to actually pay attention to what was around you.”

“Yeeeeep that sounds like me,” he smirked.

“Well, I don’t know if the place has changed since you were little or you literally just have zero awareness of what’s around you, but I wouldn’t EXACTLY call this place boring.  Not after today.”

“Oh?” Pierce leaned in, curious.  “I’m so sorry, what WAS your day like dear Sasha?”

“Well, I was…looking for a place for a regular hangout.  I found this one bar in the Town Central.  At least it felt a lot more welcoming than some of the clubs around here.  Most of the people in general seem friendly here…but they can tell I’m new.  Like…ALL of them can tell.  It’s a little nerve-racking.”

“Look if you didn’t want to want to stick out like a sore thumb, you should have moved to a city.  I told you that.  Much easier to blend in there.”

Sasha shook her head.  “No, I didn’t want to get overwhelmed like that.  The best city choices were too big.  Then I’d really feel lonely.  It’s not bad here, I just…have to be sure I make a good first impression is all.  I don’t…think they hate new people?”

“You JUST said they were friendly, didn’t you?”

“Yeah but…see the bartender…” Sasha shook her head again, “No, no you know what?  I think I was just getting jittery since it’s a new place.  Forget it.”

Pierce tilts his head. “What about the bartender?”

“He…OH!  His name,” she quickly recovered and laughed.  “His name is Whesker!”

“Like Resident Evil Whesker?” Pierce chuckled.

“EXACTLY LIKE RESIDENT EVIL WHESKER!  Dude even knew what that was!”

“SHIT FOR REAL?!  That’s actually pretty sick.  Points for the bartender.  What’d you order from him?”

“Nothing, actually.  Him and the other bartender had to do something out back.  Didn’t actually get to drink anything the whole time I was there.”

“Boo.  Points deducted.”

Sasha chuckled, “Well I mean they were busy.  I wasn’t really mad.  Kind of got distracted with this one guy having…a mental breakdown?”

“Woah.  Like, what do you mean?”

“I mean he was…really off kilter.  Not gonna lie, dude was kind of terrifying.  He kept cussing up a storm and saying he was gonna slit someone’s throat. He did SOMETHING awful.  Could not figure out for the life me what EXACTLY he did. He had a friend with him and I was certain this dude was going to punch him in the face or toss him across the room. He didn’t though.  He just…kinda…slumped down into a weeping mess. It was weird.  He said something about drinking.  I think the dude was an alcoholic.  It was kind of scary to watch.  At first I was kind of quivering from the raw temper he had.  Then…I felt a little empty.”  Sasha went a little quiet.

“Hey, it’s okay,” Pierce said in a reassuring tone.  “Dude was probably just drunk.  Lots of people probably get a little emotional when they’re drunk.  Met a ton of guys who say a lot of shit they don’t really mean when they’re wasted.  Did he go near you?”  Pierce looked a little concerned.

“Oh no, no I didn’t get caught up in any of that.  His friend I guess took him to some place to cool off.  The alcoholic kept saying something about disappointing someone for…whatever he did.”

“That’s good.  If you were to guess what he did though, what would you say?”

Sasha shrugged.  “Maybe he got in a fight?  Broke someone’s nose?  Or maybe he’s got a gambling problem?”

“Yeah.  Could be those.  He could also literally have just spent all his paycheck on booze, and now he’s gotta figure out what to do for rent.  I’ve seen that a few times.  Whatever the case, just…keep your distance Sasha.  Dude was probably just being overly emotional, but I suggest you stay away from wildcards like that you know?”

“Oh yeah don’t worry.  I don’t do so great anyway with very…loud people.”

Pierce laughed. “Yeah I know.  Just saying that if it’s a small place, you MIGHT spot him again.”

“I’ll be careful.  Should be easy to tell if he’s been drinking again anyway.”

“Sounds like his friend can keep him under control.  Don’t worry, I’m sure the next person you come across won’t be as scary Sasha.”

“Well…by all accounts…I suppose you’re not wrong, even though I feel like you should be,” Sasha laughed nervously.

Pierce cocked an eyebrow.  “The heck is that supposed to mean?”

“I..ummm…I never thought I would say this in my entire life…”

“And that would be?”

“….I met a drug dealer.”

Pierce blinked. “YOU.  Met a DRUG DEALER?  You are shitting me right now.”

“No, no this is a thing that happened.  Right after the alcoholic left.”

“What, you parked close to the back alley and he came out to hassle you?”

“No this was in the bar.”

“Oh, oh so you’re telling me that a drug dealer just walked right the fuck up to you and said ‘Hey wanna buy some drugs?’” Pierce was grinning and trying to hold back his laughter.

“…Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“YES!  I’m not joking! This happened!  And the dude collects snow globes and friendship bracelets too!” Sasha blurted out, exasperated.

Pierce burst out laughing, “NO FUCKING WAY!  No, I’m not believing that shit for a second.  Sasha you must have misinterpreted something there or this dude was just fucking with you.”

“THERE’S NO WAY TO MISINTERPRET THE LINE WORD-FOR-WORD, ‘You want to buy drugs, kid?’”

“Sasha no drug dealer is going to deal that stuff in public.  Cops eat at those places too.”

“Yeah, about that…apparently the cops here are either inept or can be ‘persuaded.’  I don’t know. Tyler’s plan was apparently to give them a blow if he got caught.”

“Okay one, who’s Tyler?  And two, which blow you talking about?”

“Tyler is the drug dealer and…both?”

Pierce stares for a full 10 seconds, stunned.  He then burst out laughing again, falling over on his side this time.

“OH MY GOD!  OH MY FUCKING GOD! Sweet innocent Sasha left home for no less than a week and you’re already hooked up with the world’s nicest drug dealer.  Oh man.  Sasha I take back what I said about Rockland.  Sounds like a riot.”  He had a large Cheshire grin on his face, but was holding his sides from laughing so hard.

Sasha rolled her eyes and said in a deadpan tone, “Well I’m glad through this long conversation, the thing that finally seems to get you to approve of my move is my association with a drug dealer.  Of all things.  Your reaction also makes me understand Dylan’s pain even more now.”

Pierce sighed, “Oh man, that just, that just made my day.  Thank you….wait who the hell is Dylan?”

“You’re welcome, and Dylan is Tyler’s friend.  He was mostly horrified about how open Tyler was.  Probably one of the more sane people in the bar that night. He dragged Tyler away at the end.”

“Aww, so you didn’t get any drugs?”

“No?  No number, no drugs.”

“Why would you NOT get drugs?!”

“What th-YOU KNOW ME!  That’s not me.  Plus my parents would have a heart attack if I tried anything.”

“But Sasha!  It’s not enough to just not buy a product from a vendor whose actions you don’t approve of.  You gotta purchase from their competition whose conduct you prefer!”

“…Okay I get what you’re saying.  Like if I want to support humanely raised animals, buy the food in the store that’s only from farms with humane raising tactics.  But, Pierce…you’re talking about DRUG DEALERS here. That’s ALL illegal.”

“Same difference.  I’d rather pay the friendly snow globe collecting drug dealer in the bar than the creepy freak in the dark alley.  It’s how you make the world a better place Sasha!  Illegal or not, not like they’re going away.”

“You are…just…I think I understand Dylan’s feelings even more now.”

“Let me come visit sometime.  You can take me to see Tyler.”

“Oh hell no!  If I have any say in this, I’m gonna try my hardest that you two never meet.  I will NEVER hear the end of it otherwise.”

“Boo.  Fine, be that way.  …Hey can I tell your parents about Tyler?”

“NO.  You’ll make THEM start to question my choice in coming here.”

“Okay okay.” Pierce settled down.  “So in summary, you walked into a bar where the bartenders dipped out, an alcoholic was in hysterics and the drug dealer was trying to get you in his books….Eh, you know when I say it out loud it doesn’t sound like the craziest bar ever. May even be pretty normal compared to some standards,” he grinned.

Sasha chuckled, “Yeah, I think I’ll pay the place another visit sometime. It was…interesting.”

“You could use a little spice in your mundane life girl.  Sounds like this place could be a gem.  Let me know who else pops up there next time, kay?” he winked.

“I will.  Have a good night Pierce.”

“Say hi to Tyler for me!”

“GOOD NIGHT Pierce.”

Sasha clicked “End Call.”

Sasha sighed.  She felt emotionally exhausted.

Her eyebrows furrowed.  “Did I forget something?  I think that was all the news.  There was something though…” Sasha thought to herself.  Something was nagging at her.

“The…bartender?  What am I…oh no I mentioned his name!  Pretty sure that was it,” she chuckled.

Sasha looked at the boxes and just shook her head.  She’ll finish it later.  Right now, bed sounded like the best idea after all that excitement.

After scrolling through Instagram and watching a few videos I decided to interact with my fans by streaming, but I couldn't pick between Outlast and Resident Evil. I went on twitter and asked them.



Wait. . . is that, that one dude from BTS? I scroll through his profile to see that it was him.

I've only ever listened to there music once or twice, never really got deep into the whole Kpop music and fandom.



Damn the poor boy can't like someone's tweet without being shipped.

I decided to do his request and play outlast, as I've seen a few of my favourite Youtubers play the game and gave it high reviews.



I only shake my head. These people are extra. The dude just wanted to comment on someone's profile.

'Maybe I should give him a message after I finish?' I thought to myself

I started setting up to play the game.

"Hey guys, so seeing as my music video became #1 on both the Spotify and Top Billboard I decided to stream to thank you for supporting me! So today we are going to play outlast because who doesn't love to shit their pants and see weird people getting killed?!" I said with a smile. I loaded the game and feel like backing out already.

I saw the dude from the screen go inside the creepy house

"See this is why I don't understand people, you see a scary looking house and you INSTANTLY go inside, like that doesn't make any sense. It's like he has a death wise." I exclaimed.

I looked at the comments section and read a few of them out loud.

" ' He's a reporter that's why' Not me, I ain't going there, you're crazy if I'm gonna risk my life for that!"

I kept playing until I saw a few naked men

"What the fuck? WHY IS THERE NAKED MEN CHASING ME THO?! THIS IS WACK AS FUCK! Yo-yo yo-yo, where the fuck do I hide? Sorry sorry for cursing but I'm not going to die today satan!" I shouted at the computer.

I kept playing for 2 more hours until I got tired of it.

"Okay guys, I had enough of this bull, I'll play some other time. Hope you guys enjoyed this video and please keep supporting me! You guys make me feel like we are actually a family the way we comfort and support each other. See you guys next week!" I said happily as I ended the stream and shut down my computer.

After I've liked a few messages I decided to go offline and started watching Riverdale. A few of my fan recommended this show to me and I was excited about the first two seasons until I got to season 3. I did not enjoy the crazy madness that took place.
