I like to joke with my friends that there'd be world peace by now if men were brave enough to go to therapy. I know too many men who have suffered from abuse, trauma, violence, etc., that have deluded themselves into believing they're "fine". That it wasn't "that bad". That all they need to do is just play video games, go to the gym, work it off, or just "walk it off" to feel better. They'd rather ignore the pain because it's easier. What those men don't realize is their choice to suffer in silence also makes the people around them suffer. Their spouse, partner, friends, and even family. What many men don't see is the people closest to them dealing with the side effects of theirs their unhealed trauma. Things like OCD tendencies, anxiety, paranoia, hoarding, trust issues, lack of assertiveness, depression, fear of abandonment, cycles of dysfunctional relationships, and even aggressive behavior are all effects of unhealed trauma that not only hurts the man in denial but everyone around him, too. A significant other or partner isn't a substitute for therapy, either. Choosing to dump trauma on them is only going to put a strain on the relationship. Unless his partner is a licensed therapist, they can't help him the way he truly needs. No one needs a reason to go to therapy, either. Sometimes you just need a friend with an unbiased perspective. Therapy isn't some horrible experience. The way some men are phobic of it, you'd think it was the end of the world! Talking about emotions is healthy. And if this post bothers you, it's probably because you already know you need to see a therapist... . . . . . #psychic #psychicmedium #spiritual #spirituality #spiritualism #psychicreadings #psychicreading #psychicsofinstagram #atlpsychic #intuitive #intuition #empath #empathic #empathy #awakening #awaken #therapy #gototherapy #mengototherapy #menintherapy #therapists #lifecoach #emotionalintelligence #emotions #depression #lesliejones https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn0oY8dMCHK/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
