Why is there so much biphobia in the harlivy fandom? People are really dense on this app and think that a bisexual/pansexual woman's identity is only valid when she's dating another woman, so, I have a few things to say about that.

🗣 IN THE TV SHOW/EAT BANG KILL COMICS SHE'S BISEXUAL. Let me repeat it louder for the nitwits in the back: 🗣IN THE TV SHOW/EAT BANG KILL COMICS SHE'S BISEXUAL. This is me taking the words of many writers, but particularly the writer of said comic, Tee Franklin, whom people have been harassing nonstop for weeks. Why is THAT such a hard concept to grasp? Why does that bother y'all so much that IN THIS CANON Ivy is bisexual? She dated Kiteman, fucked him multiple times and almost married him. Now, I've never liked Poison Kity and hating men is my favorite past time, but being biphobic is extremely unnecessary and quite frankly I'm tired of seeing that shit everytime i go to the harlivy tag.

There are many different universes with many different ways of portraying Ivy's sexuality. In some canons she's a lesbian/lesbian coded. In some canons she's bisexual/queercoded. In some canons if you ain't a plant she ain't fucking with you. Me personally and in most cases when a character starts off as straight and becomes bi, pan, lesbian, etc., I respect whatever the particular canon says about the characters sexuality. Not everyone is that respectful, especially when it doesn't suit their narrative.

The show/EBK comic is one canon in which she is bisexual. ONE. CANON. And then. AND THEN people keep implying that every woman who's had sex with a man/men just hasn't figured out she's a lesbian yet, like, do y'all hear yourselves? No, seriously. Do y'all actually take a moment to listen to the harmful shit y'all be spewing from y'all mouths? Obviously, there are women who've had sex with men at some point and realized they're a lesbian... but that's not the case for every woman... so why is someone lesbophobic for pointing that out but you're not biphobic for bi-erasure? Somebody ain't doing the math right.

Comphet is most definitely a thing but like... why is comphet almost always brought up in the case of bisexual characters? Why is that a thing and when will it end? Going off on a quick tangent, people said this when Harley and Booster Gold were a thing. "They're trying to straightwash Harley" as if this girl hasn't been bisexual since 1992 😐 Now, I don't like Booster Gold (well, I don't know him enough to like him or care about him) so I was so irritated by the pairing. "This female character is only with this man because of comphet 😔." Or maybe it's because she's bisexual, Karen. Maybe she actually likes men, sorry not sorry of that bothers you, Karen.

I am Harlivy's personal whore til the day I die and although I've written fanfics where they're not dating each other, I hate seeing them with anyone that ain't each other and I get it. As a fellow queer, I want to see my faves be more intimate with women cause in a lot of cases with bisexual characters, especially women, they seem to only date men but the writers still want brownie points for being inclusive. That's not to say that some bisexual women don't have a preference for men, it's just to say I see what the writers are doing and they will be hearing from my lawyers. But at the same time, I'm not going to spew biphobic shit to suit some asinine narrative that if a woman is bi/pan then she can only be with women cause that's the only way her sexuality is valid. No. Just, no. Throw it away. Burn it to the ground. Don't even bother putting out the fire.

In conclusion, I don't give a single fuck if people have something to say about what I have to say cause imma keep saying it. Fuck all of you biphobic assholes.

I understand some of the major concerns regarding characters like piper and the feather and hazels description but when you bring Leo and Reyna into the fucking conversation I have lost all respect.

Reyna is not a negative stereotype, she isn't defined by being latina and neither is Leo, he isn't a stereotype simply because he’s latino and was abused. also him being called an elf was because he was short, which had nothing to do with him being latino. also the mamacita comment like y'all hide under the label “progressive” but ignore that mamacita has been a thing in Latin American communities for a fucking while. its not an insult dammit. its something that happens in our communities!!! its like saying muchacho y'all don't see men bitching about that.

HIS TRAUMA WAS CAUSED BY HIS UPBRINGING, Nico isn't a 2000′s character, he’s from the 30′s, so obviously he woudn’t be perfect with his sexuality for gods sake it was the 30′s. the exact same thing happens with hazel, she isn't a modern black woman, she's a 30′s black woman. Nico’s coming out isn't him as a 21st century teen its from the time when the GOVERNMENT KILLED YOU FOR BEING GAY

also saying there are no lesbian characters? like wow look emmie and jo don't exist. So I FINALLY found out what happened to I Am Fish, and it's incredibly disgusting. All of you should be ashamed of yourselves for finding every reason you can to host a witch hunt just because you so desperately need to lash out at whatever target you can think of within arms reach.

For those that don't know the real events that happened, apparently Fish was just clicking follow on a lot of people who followed them and happened to follow a loli blog and a "questionable opinion blog" (as to the specifics, it was left up to the imagination). And for whatever reason, someone was digging through the blogs he followed and found these two blogs in a sea of hundreds or thousands and decided to take these as signs and certified proof that fish was actually a pedophile who was actively preying on children. And this never changed, despite Fish saying they weren't paying attention to all of the blogs they followed and unfollowed them as soon as he became aware of what they were.

This was also after people started saying they were lesbophobic despite posting so much support. It was always met with a bunch of people calling him a liar and trying to push it further.

Now there are people actively telling him to go kill himself and encouraging the depression thoughts he mentioned on his blog shortly before he left due to mental health reasons.

Cancel culture has driven people to the point of being rabid animals who lash out at whatever someone puts in front of them. And just like a bunch of sick animals, they should be put down before they cause any more harm to come to more innocent people.

the whole thing with bisolationist is confusing me. anon sends him your post and asks his opinion on the post and comments, you then comment why didnt you link to op. anon replies their explanation and bisolationist tags you and continues on to write his response to the comments. and then you get mad that your question was answered?? and idk if you just cant see how it looks but if bisolationist theorized about why some lesbians are biphobic or sth like that and someone commented an idiotic and borderline if not fully lesbophobic statement and he says hmm never thought of it that way 🧐 i’ll give it more thought. wouldnt you or rightfully group him with the commenter😭

im gonna repeat myself one last time cause there’s something rly insidious about how u guys keep rewriting the situation? i didn’t get mad that the anon answered my question and in fact took issue with him implying i had sth to do with other people’s statements. i also took issue with the fact that everyone involved in the other side decided to repeatedly skim over the fact that the convo was specifically about bi ppl who basically openly state that they’re attracted to both sexes, but insist on calling themselves lesbian/gay/homosexual. it was also mainly about the “lesbian with an exception” phenomena. such people have been used against lesbians specifically for a very long time to argue WE don’t exist. please tell me how this is biphobia first and foremost and not homophobia? how is arguing homosexuals can have an “exception”, that we can be OSA, is not first and foremost harming gay ppl? and here’s the real convo u misconstrued:

i took issue with him putting me in a group with people saying “bisexuals kill yourselves” “bisexuals are just evil degenerates”, none of which are statements i ever said or implied. i even said that much, i didn’t get mad at him “answering my question” but i appreciate being reframed as some hysterical irrational person in the convo for taking issue with me saying “hmm good point.. need to think on this” being equated with encouraging a minority to commit suicide! i also took issue w being repeatedly framed as acting as an authority. for what? i said good point to a lesbian who was disagreeing with the argument that bi ppl perpetuating such homophobia are doing it out of self-hatred, rather than homophobia.

it was stated that i was applauding like-a-ruby and made several comments like “omg so true ur so right queen” when in actuality all i said was “hmm good point” and in the notes or the same post “hmm i need to think on this but you made good points” alongside my own perspective that i do not know why this is a phenomena.

if lesbians were making up a significant portion of the bi community, if our voice was louder & stronger & we were sitting there arguing that bisexuality isn’t real (i know there’s lesbians who do this but their voice isn’t the dominant one in the community or the public) and everyone is only attracted to one sex, someone said it’s due to internalised homophobia and a bi person said “that’s not due to internalised homophobia. it’s just biphobia” why tf would i take issue with that statement either? why is it extremely offensive to y’all that another lesbian doesn’t think that bi ppl openly proclaiming their OSA but insisting they’re gay & insisting no one can be exclusively SSA, ie actively harming gay ppl, is being argued as homophobic rather than self-hating? why is the mere argument that “they’re literally openly proclaiming that they’re both SSA and OSA. yet they insist on coopting terms for homosexuals & redefining homosexuality not bc they hate themselves but bc they hate gay ppl” about not all bisexuals but literally only the portion of them that are outwardly and frequently homophobic this offensive to u? the topic at hand is about homophobic bi ppl who openly proclaim their bisexual attraction while insisting on coopting gay terms. like. that was the specific group being talked about. i don’t agree with jumping in to argue someone is lying about their sexual assault, or telling bisexuals overall to kill themselves, but im also not responsible for other ppl doing that the same way he’s not responsible for the bi people doing those things to gay ppl.

#thinking of that one bi woman who’s literally married to a man but INSISTS she’s a lesbian n argues it’s bc she’s only into this one man #like a woman married to a man claiming to be a lesbian into men … who is she harming here? right. gay ppl.#why send me an anon acting confused and neutral while intentionally misinterpreting the situation. when did i get mad that my q was asked.#answered ** like. thanks for making me seem irrational and hysterical ig but u know that’s not how it went.
