I started playing "Midnight Cinderella" quite recently. This is a pretty old Cybird game. In fact, it's so old that it doesn't work on new phones. So, I found my old one and downloaded it on it. I saw a few references here and there, so I was curious. And it itches so much if I cannot satisfy my curiosity. Oh, Liam… I understand you so well… I'll definitely tell you a bit about my impressions later, when I finish all the routes I wanna read. But… since today is the birthday of the twins from this game, Leo and Alyn Crawford, I'll say a few words about them.

First and foremost, they are a pre-version of the IkePri's twins, Licht and Nokto. In the prologue, Leo behaves very much like Nokto, and Alyn has some resemblance to Licht. I haven't played Alyn's Route (and, frankly, don't plan to), but I've almost finished Leo's route and I can say a bit about him.

At first, he seems like Nokto, annoyingly similar. He's constantly flirting, has a reputation for being an extremely frivolous womanizer…Not my type at all. But Leo is not what you expect him to be. He has more similarities with Clavis than Nokto. And despite the simplicity of the game, the boys here are insecure, they have a lot of cockroaches in their heads, and they don't explain anything at all. So most of the time I was at a loss. And that kind of thing makes them more real than you actually want them to be.

But even so… I actually like Leo. His story is quite dark and even sometimes depressing. And it would be nice if he shared his problems with someone… He has a brother, and Giles is his friend… At least Leo's acting like his friend on Giles's route… But no, he preferred to deal with problems in the most unhealthy way.

Stubbornness sometimes equals stupidity.

But even so, he's so very sweet…

Happy birthday, Leo. Take care of yourself. Not everyone can be a psychotherapist, as MC in this game prove.

Second Thoughts

Summary: On thinking he's a burden to his princess, Giles makes the ultimate sacrifice.

Warning: Angst, tears, breakups, Giles thinking crazy, fluff at the end

“So what is the point of us being together and planning on getting married if you don’t know if you love me.” Antoinette looked on the verge of tears as she waited for an answer from Giles. When none was given she just got up from her seat and went to the door. Before leaving his office “After all we went through to prove to everyone that you were the only one I would choose as my consort, you are going to throw it all away just like that.” And with that, she left his office and made her way to her chambers, with tears running down her face while he stayed where he was looking at the ring that she had left on his desk.

Giles couldn’t go after her, everyone knew about his illness including the Princess. So when it was coming to plan the wedding he couldn’t help but remind himself that he was being selfish by putting that much burden on her and he thought that she would be better off without him but his heart was breaking in half as hers when she left his office.

Antoinette did not leave her room for the rest of the day and bright and early the next morning she got ready and went to see King Ronold before anyone. After explaining what had happened between them, she requested that Giles no longer be her chamberlain\tudor and really didn’t want to see him in the palace at all. The King understood her feelings and assured her that he would take care of it and that her new tudor would be Leo and would have a word with Giles. As she stepped out of the King’s chambers, Giles was about to knock on the door, They both paused before out of nowhere she punched him so hard that the documents went flying and he landed on the floor, his eyes were in disbelief that she just punched him and with that, she left without a second glance at him but a tear silently fell down her cheek. It took him awhile to get up and when he finally did, Leo was just arriving at where he was to speak to the King as well, he helped Giles but didn’t say anything because he had just seen the Princess slam the door to her office and he felt like he was about to find out what had happened between them. Giles went in to see the King first, King Ronold just shook his head at him before letting him know that the Princess had requested for him to step down from his position and Leo would be taking over from now on. “Giles please tell me that this isn’t because you feel like you are a burden with your illness to Princess Antoinette and that is why you called off the wedding?” Giles didn’t respond but King Ronold just needed to see in his eyes that was the reason. “Fine, you leave me no choice. I know Leo is there at the door, let him in.” An hour later Giles stepped out of the chambers and went to his room, he passed the Princess’ office, put his hand on the doorknob before letting it go, and went to his room to pack up.

The King thought it best for Giles to go away for awhile until he got in his mind that he was not a burden to anyone, so the King sent him to Laurelia to see an old friend of his that has a son who has the same illness and to show that he can live a good life without anything terrible happening. Princess Antoinette was told that he had a new job as ambassador at Laurelia and would be gone for many months at a time so there was no risk of having him near. The first few weeks were painful for both of them, she cried every night with an article of clothing that was left in her room from the last time they were intimate, and for him, he had a handkerchief of hers with a bottle of her favorite perfume. After some time the Princess stopped to cry every time Michelangelo came into the room that she was in, and with Leo’s help she was a little more cheerful whenever King Byron or Rayvis came over to visit, the group from Stein was told by Leo what had happened between Giles and the Princess so that is why they tried to come as much as they could or Spinner would always bringing Antoinette a gift. As for Giles as soon he got to Laurelia he had another episode but his host, the king, and queen of Laurelia knew exactly what was going on and had their physician come and check on him, After a few days Giles was better, and with the help and the physician he was now able to control the attacks to bear minimal and was able to meet the crown prince and saw that he was also suffering the same as him gave him hope for the future with his princess.

Because she was extremely busy, the months passed by, and her birthday was around the corner. King Ronold and the rest of her friends wanted to bring Giles and her back together, so a letter was sent to the Royal family of Laurelia to bring him back Giles all the while not letting Princess Antoinette get any hints of his return. To make sure that she was distracted Rayvis made an unannounced, to her, with Rook to celebrate her birthday. The staff of the palace made sure that dinner ran without a hitch. After a wonderful dinner, even though she had a great time she couldn’t shake off that bit of sadness that Giles was not her, and when blowing out the candles of her cake she wished for him to return even if it was for a moment. Sadly making her way to her room she didn’t notice that everyone was looking at her with care to see if what she finds next will make her happy again. When she got to her door, she noticed that her favorite kitty was at her door dressed with a purple kitty tie and a purple rose in its mouth “Michelangelo, did you get all dressed up for me?” Michelangelo drops the rose with a meow and leaves, She picks up the rose opens the door, and makes her way in, but as she closes the door she looks up stops suddenly, and drops the rose. There in the middle of her room in a purple rose petal heart shape stood Giles, A mix of emotions came to her but she ran to his open arms, and with tears running down her face she kisses him with all the love she still has for him. After what was an eternity, Giles breaks the kiss “My love, my Antoinette I am so sorry but the reason I left was because I was selfish, I didn’t want you to suffer due to my illness. But this trip has shown me that my worries were baseless” Breaking away from her embrace, he gets on one knee and pulls out the purple star sapphire ring and puts it on her ring finger “I Giles, offer my love and my life to thee, for better or worse, for all time. Will you accept me, the good and the bad, and become my Queen once and for all?” “Yess, a thousand times yes” she whispers before getting on her knees and kissing him again with all the love she has for him. For the rest of her birthday, Giles made her feel like a Queen he sees her every day.

Sid (part 2)

I just finished Sid's route and actually I liked it more than I expected.

The first… he's a pre-pre-version of Silvio (Jonah is a pre-version). And there's bit of Leon. If you know then you know.

Oh, he has a pet dog. You would never have guessed…

And he even has a very similar epilogue to Silvio's honey/romantic ending. Way too many similarities, don't you think?…

But even beyond that… There were quite many goodies.

MC on this route is quite active. She moves the plot, makes decisions and behaves like a real boss (no, not a princess, I don't see it as a job). She's smart and has pretty decent conversations. And some of her inner thoughts even made me laugh.

There was a hint of a love triangle. Not too much, but it was interesting to watch the boys' reactions.

But the story between these two has never been fully explained… Maybe on Louis' route… Well, then I'll never know.

Other boys often show up, and it doesn't look out of place at all. They either give advice or some sort of food for thought.

And I like the plot. It has an interesting development and many unexpected twists… So far, this is the best story I've read in this game. Yes, this is only the third one, and I plan to stop on Byron, but… I love it. And even more… I'm thinking about re-reading it someday…

Oh, and I even found this very familiar background…

I'm absolutely sure it was on Silvio's route. And I think I've even seen it in Villains… At least, it definitely was in Elbert's story of newbies event.

Reverse AU: The Good Guys

Fiona is the Ladybug for this AU. Haven't come up with a name for her yet.

Blake is the Chat Noir for this AU. Also doesn't have a hero name yet.

They stay platonic though. Fiona's still got something going on with Keagan. While Blake sees Fiona as even more like a sister to him since he got separated from Blair and Fiona is the most sister coded person he's stuck with for prolonged periods of time.

It doesn't help that they started off as a team of four with the Aurelio cousins dropping in as an akuma and as a Butterfly rather than as a duo, so their relationship never got to be as intimate as ShizuBlair's version of the LadyNoir partnership.

Keagan is still kind of an investigative reporter. However, there's now more emphasis on him being the rich mayor's son. He pretends to be a dumb hedonistic party guy with no talent for fencing. Little do the Supreme know, he's Lorelei's go-to combat akuma and is a hacker for the Resistance.

Lorelei is the big good, current head of the Resistance. She descended from a long line of people running the Resistance, all the way back to Adrinette.

Initially, it was just her, a few of her friends (her husband who died so she could escape with her secrets, Mrs. Liung and grandma Hisui), her son Leo, and her nephew Keagan who found a way to contact them discreetly.

Fiona joined in, lead to the group by Keagan. Keagan was initially just trying to convince Fiona to stay away from certain people so her family doesn't get pocketed by the Supreme (like his is) or worse, recruit her (like a certain bodyguard keeping tabs on him). He's doing what he could to prevent the Supreme from getting any more powerful.

But one thing led to another and Lorelei decides this girl had what it takes to be the next Ladybug (instead of her son, whom she'd rather stay safe and away from the front lines as the next Butterfly).

Blake joined in a couple of years before Fiona. Its cause he overheard Mrs. Liung talking to Lorelei, who can't get in contact with the rising model Blair. They can't reach her no matter how many strings they pulled, which is really saying something as one was a former celebrity and the other is the mayor's sister-in-law. They suspect the Supreme had something to do with it. This is why Blake joined the Resistance.

Mrs. Liung couldn't talk him out beyond getting trained first before jumping into the field. There's that and the Supreme tried to get rid of them and framed it as the Resistance's doing, so now they had no choice but to fight back and hidevwith the resistance.

Mr. and Mrs. Crawford were also members of the Resistance until they got caught and were snuffed out... yeah, Blake has plenty of reasons to be angry at the Supreme here and its why he's a bigger grouch in this au than in the main mlb au.

Grandma Hisui (real name: Haruji Tate) was one of the kids the Resistance saved from the Supreme, hence, why the Turtle Miraculous is with them. She left her daughter behind in Japan thinking she'd be safe there. Little did she know, the Supreme had influence there too, through the Tsurugis.

Some people are helping the Resistance but not on a regular basis. The Hale Clinic patches them up during the period when they didn't have a Ladybug. The Guerreros were one of the few rich families who heeded their warning and saw how horrible a deal with the Supreme is. So in gratitude, they let them hide in their property owned by their real estate business. Talia and Damien, being from those families the resistance helped, helps them out whenever they could.

Vincent Liung may be the turtle in this AU, trained by Hisui.

That's about it on everyone actively supporting the Resistance for now.
