Nondescriptive talk about nude bodies, Ezra's injury from the film, talk about how thin he's gotten, grief. Pain/comfort. Reader has hair that Ezra can thread his fingers through.

I have a F!Reader in mind, but I don't know that I actually use any pronouns or female descriptions? Please shoot me a message if I missed something there.

You woke in the early hours of the morning to your dearest childhood friend weakly rapping on your cottage door. He was beaten all to hell, down one arm, and had become thin and wan. You quickly ushered him into your cozy home and slowly helped him undress, shushing him when he balked about his modesty. 

You'd been friends for years and he needed help. You assured him he wouldn't be the first naked man you'd ever seen, and it wouldn't be the first time you'd seen him naked; with as long as you'd known one another. It occurred to you then in that moment that he had in fact been the first to hold such an honor; but you knew if you told him that it would go straight to his ego.

You smiled briefly at the sudden flood of memories: the two of you as toddlers playing in the mud together, children jumping into springtime puddles, bashful teens taking a gander at each other's changing bodies; too shy to do anything more than gawk and quickly redress. 

He flushed deeply as you uncovered him, but more for how scarred up, thin, and dirty he was rather than his poor excuse of false modesty. You pursed your lips together but said nothing, understanding him enough to swallow your worries for now. You bared him to the waist, taking time to unwrap his mangled arm; you were no doctor, but you were fairly certain he had an infection. 

You sat him on the edge of your great stone basin of a tub, and tended to him. Neither of you spoke, you didn't need to. After applying your various herbs, salves, and medicines, you wrapped his wounded limb in fresh linen bandages.

After washing your hands and checking that the dressing was secure, you sat next to him on the lip of the tub. He looked you directly in the eyes for the first time that night, pressed his forehead to yours, and murmured a raspy thanks. You cupped his face in your hand, squeezed your eyes tightly shut, and swallowed your tears before speaking.

"You never have to thank me, love," leaning forward, you kissed the tip of his nose. "You're my dearest heart, Ezra." 

His expression crumbled. With trembling lips he whimpered, burying his face in your neck and weeping quietly for a time. You held him close, whispering comforting sounds in his ear as you tenderly rubbed your hands up and down his bare back. 

He suddenly jumped up, babbling apologies about how badly he smelled, how he was ruining your nice floors, getting you all dirty. You stood and covered his soft lips with your fingers, looked him in the eye and murmured 

"No."

"No? Birdie, I-"

You interrupted him, stating more firmly this time, "No."

He argued no more as you slowly stripped him bare and helped him into the bath. You scrubbed him down till he was pink and shiny, then let the bath out and refilled it with clean water. You threw in some dried flowers, soaking salts, and a precious little bit of goat's milk. You smiled as he seemed to sink into the deep tub and finally relax. 

Slowly, gently, you used the washcloth to squeeze the warm, fragrant water over his now-clean hair, his drowsy face, down his sinewy neck. You watched the cream colored drops travel down his broad chest, frowning a little at how bony he'd become. His breathing evened out, and you realized he'd fallen asleep.

Your smile fell as you surveyed your sleeping friend, his body so broken and pale. You reached over and brushed the long blond strand of hair out of his eyes, your fingertips gently tracing his full eyelashes. Unbidden tears began to blur your vision. 

Ezra had dreamed of becoming a dashing rogue of a treasure seeker ever since he was a boy, rushing to find the nearest ship that would take him off galavanting as soon as he came of age. He'd been so full of life then, gung ho and certain that he was going to come home a rich man. He swore he'd share his wealth with you, his very best friend. 

You wept then, too, as you’d waved goodbye. You’d stood unmoving on the outward bound docks for hours, staring at the little black speck that was Ezra's ship till the stars were bright in the sky and your eyes were nearly swollen shut from shedding so many tears.

Ezra shifted and cracked a weary eye open to peer at you, pulling you from your memories. You smiled fondly down at him, squeezing some warm water over his chest again. He caught your hand in his, and clumsily pried it open, letting the cloth wetly plap into the tub. He brought your fingers to his lips, kissing each of your digits with utmost reverence. He looked up through his lashes at you, the love in his eyes apparent.

"Little bird, in all my time of suffering on the Green, the memory of your sweet countenance was my only joy and comfort." He closed his eyes, his brows scrunching together in grief. Taking a deep breath, he tried to steady the tremble in his voice. "Do you know how dear you are to me? How it devastated my soul to be unable to return to you?" 

You pressed your hand to his cheek as tears began to freely fall from your blurry eyes, and Ezra choked on a sob, reaching for you. Without a second thought you knelt in the bathtub with him, not caring that your clothes were instantly soaked through. You held each other and wept as you pressed kisses all over each other's faces, thankful to be together again. 

You caught his face between both of your hands and pressed a long, frantic kiss to his lips. He tangled his wet fingers into your dry hair and pressed you as close as he could to himself until you had to break the kiss to breathe. He whined and chased your lips with his, latching to you again, begging for access with his tongue. You granted him entry, and explored each other for a time, small whimpers and moans echoing in the tiled room. 

Parting, you pressed your foreheads together once more, the feelings you'd both held close to your hearts for so long, now out in the open. 

You knew you'd never have to be parted from him again.

Your mother smooths her hand over your shoulder. The lines by her eyes deepen as she smiles. Her touch, her soft look—she offers a warmth you never thought you’d feel from her again. You burn—happily, you burn under her gaze.

“I am,” you admit. Sweeping your gaze back in Din’s direction, you sigh. “It’s been… a weird few days.” Few months, few years. Stars, you’re tired.

Your mother follows your gaze, and she moves to stand alongside you. She crosses her arms, but she isn’t angry. She is comfortable, considerate. She tilts her head, narrowing her eyes. “Who is he to you?”

Her question doesn’t make sense at first, not with the rising heat of the day and your lack of breakfast, but then you realize she is asking about Din. She is asking about the man in the field, pausing long enough to explain the mechanics of his farming equipment to a smitten little girl. 

You answer without hesitation. “He’s my partner… in all things.”

Z. If you could choose one work and immediately finish it, what would it be? How would you end it?

Oh my GOD that would be the Epiphany Series I have with Marcus Moreno and an OFC named Eleanora. I have LITERALLY two and a half chapters left to write and I just can't. It's the first thing I starting writing again after joining the Pedro fandom and it kind of shows in the writing style, there's a part of me that wants to finish it and post a rewrite version now that I've gotten more comfortable with my writing style.

The way I envision it finishing out is the resolution of the lead female coming to peace with her terrible childhood, accepting a proposal from one Marcus Moreno, and accepting that she's not the curse she thought she was.

Hi Lia! I'm sorry I'm so late in answering this 😵

It's been a rough week so a tough one to answer right now but here goes.

Sense of humour - I can be witty sometimes and I occasionally make myself laugh like the 120% dork that I am.

Friendship - when I commit I'm ride or die, and will definitely break someone's kneecaps for friends. The downside is that I've had friendships where I haven't received the same level of support :/

That I can cook - I haven't killed anyone (yet) and I really love food....that's where Real Sugar came from 😂
