LawLu hc - Franky built Luffy captain's quarters that he only uses when Law stays over.

YES. Any in-universe OP fic of mine (and a lot of other fic writers) will most definitely have a captain's quarters that Luffy reserves just for his tired emo babygirl (Law).

Ever since they set sail on the Merry, Luffy has slept in the men's quarters. They didn't have a Captain's Quarters back then because there wasn't enough space but Luffy never cared because he hates sleeping alone.

When he was a kid, he always had Ace and Sabo to sleep with but after Ace left on his journey, Luffy had to sleep by himself and he hated how quiet and cold it was without them. Once he was finally able to travel with his crew, nothing made Luffy happier than being able to sleep with his friends again. Sometimes they even let him cuddle with them at night which is Luffy's favorite thing to do with the people he cares about. When Franky was building the Merry, he offered to build Luffy a captain's quarters but he denied saying that he'd rather sleep with his friends.

Then Law comes aboard after Punk Hazard and Luffy couldn't understand why he would never sleep in the men's quarters with him and instead chose to sleep on the deck in the cold. Law refuses to tell him and it drives Luffy crazy because he wants to cuddle with Law so bad. He tries to go on the deck and snuggle with Law but everytime he does, Law shambles him halfway across the ship with no explanation.

Their relationship progresses into something much different than what Luffy has with his crewmates and after much pestering, he finally gets Law to admit that the two-fold reason why he won't sleep with the rest of the men is that he often has nightmares from his dark past which embarrasses him and he also isn't part of their crew so sleeping with them would make it seem like he's accepting that he's no longer captain of his own ship and just one of their nakama like Luffy claims he us.

Luffy thinks this is ridiculous so he secretly has Franky build him that Captain's Quarters he offered before. Franky does, repurposing a random closet of junk into a small but perfect Captain's Quarters. On the night it's done, Luffy drags Law through the new door that suddenly appeared, shoving him on the bed, crawling in next to him, and wrapping his arms around him so tight that Law can't escape.

Law is not sure if he's most confused as to how this new bedroom just materialized seemingly out of thin air on the day they stopped at a supply island or why Strawhat is now alone in bed with him, nuzzling against his neck and holding him against his body. Luffy declares that it's the Captain's Quarters and he had Franky build it so they could have a room for just the two of them. That way Law doesn't have to worry about his nightmares or what anyone else thinks.

Law points out that it's still the Captain's Quarters and Luffy is the Captain and Luffy snaps back with "Well you're a Captain so that makes it your quarters too. It doesn't say which Captain it belongs to," and Law can't argue with that ridiculous but sound logic that only Luffy could come up with.

Law accepts his fate, relaxing in Luffy's arms, realizing that it's been so long since he was able to just curl up under the blankets with someone else. He feels all warm and fuzzy, not only because Luffy is like a space heater, but also because he realizes his alliance mate did all this just so he could have a space he feels comfortable at night. From that day on, he sleeps with Luffy in their room. It does mortify him when Strawhat tells other people that they sleep together every night but at that point, Luffy's already decided that they're dating and he knows there's nothing he can do.

After Law leaves the crew, the room remains and Luffy only uses it when Law comes to visit him, never allowing anyone else to sleep in 'Him and Torao's room'.

Luffy just wanted a room where he could fuck Law nasty so he has Franky build one and suddenly the Captain of the Thousand Sunny has his own personal sex dungeon for him and his boyfriend.

@flyfarflyfast YOU’RE RIGHT AND YOU SHOULD SAY IT. I also think Law just kinda gets…..weirder? Like there comes a point where it becomes obvious that part of the reason these two losers go so well together is because in their most natural state they both just say shit. Turns out Law just was low key masking all the time and as soon as he doesn’t have to he’s just like “good morning your outfit is terrible.” Also separately with Luffy shenanigans law goes from “why tf is this always happening to me” to “here we go again” to “this is just a normal part of my day” to “ready to square up the second my husband does.”

Transitively Luffy will say things like “stick to the plan!!” to people more often because how DARE anyone destroy the plans his man slaved over??? luffy gets approximately 0% better at not fucking up literally anything law plans.

Love a good lulaw aphrodisiac situation but what I never see is Law would literally be so embarrassed if he got hit with an aphrodisiac effect he'd probably immediately lock himself in the captain's quarters and not let anyone in. Even if he's already in an established relationship with Luffy it would take lots of very enthusiastic offers to help make his Torao feel better before he allowed any touching lol

Angsty lawlu thought: any kids they have could develop laws disease. Imagine law seeing their kid born with those spots or gets it when their two or three. Law having to go through that trauma again. But has to focus on healing his kid.

Law sounds like the kind of dad who'd be so happy with a daughter. He'd do her ponytails, read her books, and do her nails and eyeliner when she gets older. Idk I just think he'd be so happy with a daughter. And she would remind him of his sister and he'd get emotional watching her sleep. So when the first spots start appearing, he sees Flevance all over again. He freezes. Nothing in the seven seas would have prepared him for that. It's all happening all over again. He'll lose it all again.

His daughter, barely six years old, doesn't understand why her dad is so terrified. She feels alright. Her little white spots are funny, even. They don't hurt. So why is dad so... pale ?

She tugs on his jeans and brings him back to his senses. He holds her close and tell her that everything will be alright. Silly daddy, she thinks, everything already is alright.

When Luffy reaches his house after Law's urgent call, he finds him in the kitchen, passed away surrounded by two empty wine bottles from their cellar (a gift from Mihawk).

They had moved in their house a few years after retiring. On an island in the east blue, a calm sea to raise their daughter. In a few years, they planned to start training her so that she gets to see the world with her own eyes. Those eyes were already full of wonder, in awe at the stories her fathers told of giant dragons and magical fairies, stories their friends told of giant whales and marvelous seas, stories her grand-grandparents told of great wars and great pirates.

Law never told her about Flevance. She is too young. He wanted to shield her from the horrors of the world, and yet, because of him, there she was, so young, and already thrust into them.

When Luffy hugs him from the back, Law wakes up and leans into his touch.

"Is everything alright ?" He asks, knowing fully well that everything was not okay.

"It's my fault, Luffy..." He mumbles in his husband's chest "I gave her that..."

Luffy stays silent and craddles his husband's hair. By extending his observation haki, he knows their daughter is sleeping in her room. He doesn't comment but hugs Law tighter, letting him know that he is not alone. He waits. He's not worried about their daughter. Law healed himself. He can heal her too. But that wasn't about the Amber Lead per se, Luffy knew. It was about the trauma, the loss, and all the suffering those white spots brought to his partner. His sister, his parents, Cora... Law lost them all, one way or another, because of those same spots he sees on their daughter.

After a few moments, Law broke the silence: " This shouldn't be happening."

"What ?"

"I took all the lead out of my system. I am healed. It shouldn't be happening."

" Okay. And ? "

" And ??? " Law was flabergasted. " What do you mean And ???? Our daughter has an incurable desease that she shouldn't be having in the first place !! What do you mean "And" ????"

"What does it matter, Torao, if she should be having it or not ? Why does it matter why she caught it ? "

"Aren't you worried ????"

"No-"

The slap that landed on Luffy's face was heard all across the house. He answered it by hugging his husband closer.

"I am not worried, Torao, because sometimes, the why doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that you healed yourself, and you can heal her too. Alright ?"

"Yeah... You're right."

Random One Piece Headcanons

Luffy: He's a rather gassy person (both ends) due to his appetite, and whether he's shameless about it or not depends on the context. If he's with his friends or in a public place, he'll usually be pretty nonchalant, often giggling at his own emissions. If he's with (LAWLU ALERT) Law and cuts the cheese, however, he'll immediately turn fifty shades of red and start up with the "I'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRY"-ing. Luffy also can fart on command, which he likes to demonstrate when joking around with his friends.

Chopper: He is transmasc, and the reason why his human form looks the way it does is tied to the fact that Devil Fruits are tied to people's dreams and Zoans have minds of their own, and the Hito-Hito no Mi probably realized that Chopper dreamed of becoming a man. Also, my personal HC about Chopper's life in the herd: Chopper's parents actually didn't mind that their son had a blue nose (probably because Chopper's father's father had a blue nose too) and it was the rest of the herd that didn't like it (Chopper's blue-nosed ancestor was executed via being gored by the herd leader's antlers), and it only got worse after Chopper ate the Hito-Hito no Mi. Chopper's parents, however, still loved him, and were heartbroken to see the other herd members exile Chopper with the intent of him being completely helpless and dying as a result. Also, Chopper was known to the herd as Blue Aurora, and his parents were Pine Needle (father) and Dry Grass (mother). (AAAAA not me trying to give Chopper's herd xenofiction aspects again)

another lawlu hc related to that: law has sensory issues with eating sometimes because of his autism and it makes him internally scream and go to an empty room to cry. luffy realizes law has been giving him too much of his food recently. after finding out why, luffy gives him all the comfort and love he deserves and it causes law to eat a little more 🥹💜 (this sadly happens to me in real life as an autistic person. I NEED A SPOUSE LIKE LUFFY AAAAAH)

Yes! This is actually so sweet. Law's autism could totally explain his very particular eating habits. You inspired me to write the below headcanon based on this. I have had people in my life who are autistic but I do have it myself so I hope I could do the experience justice in the context of Law and his personality. I just love the idea of Luffy finding out and making sure Law gets whatever he needs because he's the best partner anyone could ask for <3

Law is very self-conscious when it comes to his eating habits, as he is with most of his peculiarities and it's nearly impossible for him to bring himself to ask to be accommodated when others are cooking even though he knows people will do so even when he doesn't tell them why. He accidentally blurted out that he doesn't like bread and ever since then Sanji has always made him his own special dish whenever he is serving bread dishes to the others. He appreciates Sanji's understanding but he feels like a burden for making him create something entirely different just for him.

Law's food preferences don't just end with bread though, and he can't just refuse to eat what he's being served, that would be rude. Luckily, he has a very hungry partner who is always eyeing up his plate for scraps so he can generally just give him the things he doesn't like but recently it's been getting worse to the point that Law is barely eating because his sensory issues have become overwhelming.

Law thinks he's pretty slick but Luffy knows him better than he knows himself most of the time and one day, he confronts him. Luffy asks Law if he's okay and why he hasn't been eating virtually any of his food recently. He tries to play it off by saying he just hasn't been hungry but Luffy calls out the fact that his stomach has been growling and he's clearly hungry. He demands Law to tell him what's going on and if he's sick, he'll figure out how to make him better. Law, knowing he can't get out of this without telling Luffy the truth, explains that he has a condition where specific food textures make him feel extremely uncomfortable and he can't eat them without feeling like he's going to either throw up or explode.

Much to Law's relief, Luffy immediately understands. "That's okay, everyone is different, Torao! You should have told me before so I can make sure you get all the yummy food you like! Now, tell me all the things that make you feel gross and I'll make sure you never have to eat them again. Food is the best thing in the world and you need to eat so you can be nice and strong!" he says and Law has to hold back his tears. He's been struggling with this for so long and he's always been afraid to tell people because he doesn't want them to judge him and just assume he's annoying when he can't help it.

He's not sure why he didn't just tell Luffy this before, he's not the best at expressing himself. Emotions and connecting with others are hard for him. He's already so much of a burden on Luffy as it is even though Luffy constantly reassures him that he loves him, he's never a burden, and he just wants him to be happy.

After that day, Luffy makes sure that Law's plate never has anything he doesn't like on it. If anyone dares to call Law 'picky' he yells at them and advises that Law is artistic (Law has corrected him and told him it's autistic but he doesn't seem to listen) and he can't help it and that he'll beat them up if they make fun of his Torao. Law wonders every single day what he did to deserve such a loving and understanding partner who goes out of his way to make Law's life easier in whatever way he can.

MONKEY D. LUFFY HC: DANCING

Luffy loves to dance ever since he was a kid

It's fun and brings him joy. He takes any chance to dance, a lot of times, it's with his brothers around a fire. As he grew older, its with his crew and even those he helped liberate during parties and festivities

People would say that there's no rhyme nor rhythm whenever he dances and they'd be right that he's uncoordinated whenever he danced. He's a mess of limbs, moving to the beat of his own drum

But that's whenever he wants to have fun

There'd be times, rare as they may be, that Luffy wants to dance because he wants to express himself. To pour all of his emotions and heart with every move of his limbs and the sway of his hips

In respect to Luffy's connection to Brazil, I like to HC that Luffy prefers the samba whenever he wants to express himself. A lot of times, he's done this alone because while his nakama would dance with him, Luffy finds that none of them can dance with him, y'know?

Until he meets Torao

It's not long into their alliance when Luffy finds out that not only they're both in sync in battles, that connection has also translated into their daily lives too. They move easily around each other, matching and predicting one another a little too well.

Eventually, Luffy finds out that Law can dance with him too

It'd been after a nightmare and knowing he wont be able to fall back to sleep, Luffy does what he usually does to calm himself (besides a late night snack), which is dancing. It helps to concentrate on something else, letting his exhausted body move into familiar steps

But then a large hand reaches out of the darkness to catch his own before gently twirling him into familiar arms. Then, Torao's palm comes up to support Luffy's upper back to bring them close so that Luffy's still erratic heartbeat is flushed against a calm, steady thrum

Like instinct and as easy as breathing, they move together

That night, as Torao leads them into a dance full of elegant rise and fall turns and flowing movements of what the older captain calls as the waltz, is when Luffy discovers that he won't be dancing alone anymore

Not when Torao matches him move to move. Step by step. Predicting and meeting him halfway where none has ever done before. Challenging him and allowing (encouraging) Luffy to be vulnerable in expressing himself fully without censure or expectations of responsibilities

Luffy of course, never really thought about finding a dance partner. Was content as he is, dancing to the beat of his drum. Full of joy and freedom

But as Torao holds him close, Luffy can never imagine anyone else as his partner either which is very good because he doesn't want anyone else but Torao anyways

His perfectly imperfect partner
