Can you spot the public transit? One of these photos in Ulster County and Orange County (part of the NYC metropolitan region) has a bus, but it isn't heading to Minnewaska State Park, one of the most popular weekend spots this time of year north of NYC (whether you define this as Upstate or not yet Upstate is up to you). Perhaps a State which wants to be seen as a leader in alleviating climate change (or traffic congestion) could at least have a bus shuttle from nearby New Paltz (where there are public transit options to NYC). The shuttle could even be funded partly by parking fees! Some of the greatest gifts in life are coincidences, and yesterday I got one! I was worried I wouldn't get to film my #songoftheday without some kid yelling out or something in the background, but we did it once and it was fine thankfully! Then, as soon as we were done, someone yells out "BELLE-SKINNER!" And at first I didn't understand and was like, "woah, good thing we finished just in time" and then I realized what he yelled and was confused that someone recognized me all the way upstate in New Paltz! And guess who it was - my friend @shlomofranklin 's brother!! We had 2 native-French speakers in his company so I sang "Mon Cheri" and it was so much fun, so here's the video of our little gather-round ^.^ There were many small incidents that day that delayed our coming to that spot at that time, and we were just early enough to get Violets filmed okay, and just late enough to run into them. What a nice birthday present, I say! :) #lakeminnewaska
