when i picture carpenter silt verses i am picturing a woman in her late 40s with the same physique as jason voorhees and hair that she's been washing with motel bar soap since she was 18 btw. this woman looks like if a long haul trucker occasionally had to perform ritual self-flagellation. like if a man with a single bottle of dawn dishsoap in his shower was a middle-aged woman who feared neither pain nor death. we're talking dry skin, resting bitch face, and something of the classic slasher villain in her sheer size and resilience. someone who could break an ankle and still not stop trying to kill you with an ax, genuinely frightening.
i believe in scary, gruff, aging women's rights.

I know Egon's spirit has passed on and all that
but imagine he was still hanging around (incorporeal though) with his family, playing chess with Pheobe, giving Trevor the tools he needs when fixing the car, giving Callie hugs and using tech to 'talk' to her, being annoying and making life inconvenient when they are trying to move because they forgot to pack up with spores, moulds, and fungi to bring to the firehouse
(god what I wouldn't pay for ghost egon to finally be able to punch dickless without much/any repercussions)

I recently listened to The Sit and Chat (Jake and Bradley's podcast) episode that had Kelli on it and decided to create timestamps where they talked about anything relating to MM, LR, or LR:EF
But seriously go watch it for yourself, it was neat listening to Kelli talk about her life, insightful in general, and very funny!
youtube
11:46 - 12:31 - They talk about first working with each other on LR:EF and the Lab Rats vs. Mighty Med episode
20:40 - 21:08 - Billy is briefly mentioned due to Jake mixing up where Kelli is from with where Billy is from
25:00- 26:22 - Bradley and Kelli talk about how thankful they were to be on Disney as kids and their experiences
27:16 - 28:17 - Kelli talks about starting LR and how she grew up with Bree/as Bree and was happy with her character arc and where Bree ended up
28:17 - 29:22 - Bradley points out how Kaz, Oliver, Skylar, Bree, and Chase were essentially all different characters in LR:EF compared to who they were in their original respective shows
29:22 - 30:20 - They talk about how all five of them in LR:EF were ready as lead actors but were confined down to the writing of the show and how difficult that became as the characters switched leading parts in different episodes. Bradley says that they weren't angry at each other because of this, but Jake and Kelli say that something deeper than that was going on. Jake expresses that he wished he could have done more on LR:EF
30:20 - 31:09 - (continuation of conversation above) Jake talks about how he was interested with where Oliver's character arc would go in LR:EF and didn't know what to expect going from MM to LR:EF. He said he trusted the creators of LR who went on to create LR:EF and their writing for Oliver, but quickly realized in LR:EF that it wasn't what he was expecting for Oliver (I feel so bad for Jake). He still appreciates his time on the show and being on Disney, but views that time as a transition into more serious acting
31:49 - 35:33 - Bradley talks about how funny it was that Kelli always had a difficult time hitting her mark, especially when he was directing an episode ("Sheep-Shifting")
41:09 - 42:13 - They briefly talk about how they weren't allowed to do other projects without approval after LR:EF ended while they waited to find out if the show would get a season 2 and how the holdout on that was for one year after season 1 came out. Bradley says that they weren't even told what was going to happen to LR:EF and how it just dissipated out

Noel Miller (yes, THAT Noel Miller) said that he had an opportunity to interview Logan when he was in F2 for his F1 podcast but Logan was so skeptical about him the entire time and the interview went odd so he decided not to publish it. He said Logan might have had imposter’s syndrome because he would not believe someone would reach out to him for an interview (they did it on discord) 😭

Okay, I finally listened to it and it is really good.
I mean technically from a perspective of someone who is in fandom a lot it's not much new to learn. I think it describes the general fandom experience very good to people who might not be familiar with that side. I think most of us have people in their lives, who don't understand that part of us. Like most of my family doesn't really. In fact my grandma is probably the only one who can relate (she's been in fanclubs back in the early 60s, even travelling around for concerts and stuff). This is also where the sports fan parallel comes in (with my dad being a huge soccer fan, so technically he should relate from that side of things).
But also for me it was just nice to listen to, because so many if not all the things this podcast episode talks about are things I've seen or experienced in my time in fandom.
The immense joy it brings to talk about your fan passions with people who feel the same obviously being the biggest one. It's my fave thing about fandom. I have made friends through fandom, I've changed fandoms with people who I met in a different fandom, I've drawn in irl friends into some of my fandoms (kinda). Of course I've seen the ugly side of fandom (who hasn't honestly). I've met and connected to (online and in person) so many people, which is crazy to me as someone who has always been a really shy and introverted person (and honestly I can see/feel that I've gotten a lot of personal growth from it).
I honestly kinda forgot where I was going with this, but yeah I really quite enjoyed listening to it. Great rec and give it a listen.

fantastic day. woke naturally around 10am, nutella croissant breakfast, spent the morning reading public domain books about the history of spanish knitting guilds, made fried egg sandwiches for lunch, took a three hour nap, had sex, lounged around aimlessly, took the train to chinatown for dinner, ate vegetarian dry pot spicy enough that i could feel my eustachian tubes, now lying around aimlessly again

National Clean Your Home Month Day 12
Today was a big production because of the first item on the list:
- I cleaned all my CPAP machine parts that needed cleaning (for the tubing and headgear this generally meant rinse, wash with soap, soak in vinegar-water solution for some of the parts, wash in soap again to get the vinegar smell out, rinse again; the reservoirs got wiped down, soaked and vinegar solution, and then put through a dishwasher cycle in the top rack). I have not been working nonstop on it all day since a lot of it is just waiting around for things to soak, but the project has been going all day. The tubes and headgear aren't dry yet but hopefully by tonight all of them will be. I really need to pay attention to the calendar reminders that tell me to do this in smaller increments on a more regular basis lol.
- Inspired by @likearumchocolatesouffle to make a dent in my online banking and balancing my statements with my registers. A good thing, too, because I found out that the automatic credit card payment that was supposed to go through on Thursday didn't, so even though I don't want to spend any time tomorrow calling up the credit union to complain and try to get any late charges dropped, at least now I know I need to. And I paid it manually.
- Currently soaking the kitchen faucet in vinegar solution because might as well make as much use of it as possible before dumping it down the drain.
- Put away my remaining laundry from Friday/yesterday.
- Put away the bike saddle bag that had dried (the other one is still wet but wow I can nonetheless tell how much cleaner it is than before I washed it)
- Put a rain cover on the bike to store it for winter
- Stared at and thought about the comforter project I mentioned yesterday
The podcasts I listened to while cleaning and things I read while waiting for things to soak/wash:
I listened to the most recent episode of Nobody Should Believe Me, which focused on disheartening breaking news. To get in a better head space, I then listened to the most recent episode of Overcoming Compulsive Hoarding, which was about the pros and cons of ethical consumerism. (The podcaster's main focus is always on how whatever topic she's covering affects people with hoarding disorder, which I don't have, but a lot of what she talks about is applicable to people in other circumstances as well. This week's episode was super thought-provoking, and I know I will keep thinking about it in the coming weeks. I really enjoyed it.)
I stared at Tumblr a lot but then I ran out of new post to read, so I then read Living Bird magazine, which is published by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Most interesting articles to me were one about the effects of geomagnetic fluctuations on bird migration and another on the encroachment of woodlands into Nebraskan prairie due to inappropriate land management post-colonization, and how people are now trying to reverse the trend.
Oh, and I posted a new chapter of my fic!
