Authors note: I swear those of you who have waited so long for this are the best ever 😭 I'm so horrible for taking forever but life has been so crazy and made the writers block last too long. I want to say that I'm slowly getting back to my old self and getting a better headspace on how I want to continue my stories. I can't promise this will be done as fast as they were before but I can say that it's time for our two to get their happy ending. After being scouted at countless events, news of his restaurant has reached the desk of this famous food reviewer. Onigiri Miya is on the list of nominations for this years Chef's Table a popular magazine promoting the hottest restaurants. Could things get better? Y/N who works on CT's review board as one of the Chief Critics is returning to Japan after 2 years of working around Europe. But her plans to finally take a well deserved vacation are interupted when her boss gives her a last minute assignment. Which is none other then, the review of his restaurant. However, what seems like a standard assignment gets a little more complicated with the familiar faces they didn't think they'd run into. With the interviewer being an old childhood friend that disappeared without so much as a goodbye and a chef that holds the memory of a bitter love? How will this situation benefit either of them?

Chapter Fourteen- Bittersweet Celebration

Promotional Events are finally here!! Next few updates will be a time skip to the actual event.

Y/N had the idea of using a single one of Osamu's recipes as a highlight event, Osamu suggested they use his plum one as he thought of doing a find the plum contest.

Y/N agreed to this as it was a really good idea but did mention they needed a catchy prize as well as how many people they wanted to reach.

Osamu wanted this event to be accessible to everyone so that even young kids could participate. He decided that he wouldn't charge for he event itself instead as long as they met a required amount.

Yuna was the one who thought of using Atsumu has the face to the event. In the past, he would send Onigiri Miya support or even modeled for their IG posts. If it meant helping his brother he'd do it.

So this chapter included quite a lot. As things progress positively for the program, it gets harder for them to keep their feelings about the past at bay.

Even if something pulls them closer together, the distance still feels big.

Y/N got slightly triggered when Osamu mentioned being upset because she thought about how she felt that day.

Their past is fighting to come to light and will either of them be ready to face it.

Sometimes love can be sweet one moment but turn bitter the next.

Chapter Thirteen - A Moment

Y/N arrived at the set time for their meeting. Since the sudden promotional announcement coming out she didn't want to waste any time. The first thing she had Osamu do was pick at least 8 of his onigiri to make for tonight and then lay out the ingredients he used. Osamu saw how serious she was and followed her instructions, heading into his kitchen he went to work and made some of the main and popular flavored onigiri he sells.

They're time together went fairly well and professional. Until a slight slip up occured between them, revealing a mutual misunderstanding but also a brothers terrible timing.

****30 minutes earlier at Onigiri Miya****

"So I didn't want to ask before but why did you want me to make these many different types of onigiri and lay out their ingredients? Shouldn't we be taking about ideas for my event?" Osamu said as he finished making the last onigiri.

"I told you, the first thing to a promotional event is figuring out what product you want to promote, not what strategy you'd do to promote the product." Y/N said as she took pictures of his food.

"I've tried your food, but I need to sit down and try the recipes for Onigiri Miya with my complete focus here. Now that you've made them, I can assess your food properly so we can talk about which one might benefit more for your promotion."

Osamu looked over his counter and watched as Y/N picked up his onigiri starting her observation process. "Is your inner critic gonna come out?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Now might be the time you hold your breath Miya-san."

Y/N started quietly trying his food and taking notes down. Osamu didn't think he would get nervous but to his surprise he was nervous to hear what she'd say. To calm his nerves he decided to work on his prep work for tomorrow. Y/N looked back at him and chuckled at how he handled stress.

After about 10 minutes Y/N finally tired the last onigiri, she closed her notebook and turned back to Osamu.

"You're really an amazing cook." She complimented.

"Thanks. I have come really far compared to meals I use to cook in the beginning."

"I can tell which one had your friend's rice and which one didn't. Did you do that to throw me off?"

Osamu laughed, "I wanted to show that the taste of rice does matter and that with certain onigiri Kita's rice works best to bring out the flavors."

"Well you've proved it to me once again. But this one with bonito flakes has a taste I'm not too familiar with. I'm looking at your ingredients but I can't figure out what's different..." Y/N said lifting up the onigiri she was curious about.

Osamu seemed confused as well, did he possible make a mistake somewhere?

"Was it a bad taste? Can I try it?"

"It wasn't bad just a slight taste seemed different then the one I tried last time." Y/N nodded as she lifted the plate to him. Osamu didn't reach for it and just looked at her, "Here?"

"Y/N could you possibly feed it to me? My hands are occupied right now." He asked, Y/N looked at how he was currently working on a sauce mixture.

Y/N naturally reacted as she picked it up with chopsticks to hold it out for Osamu to eat. As he went forward to eat it, Y/N quickly pulled it away from his mouth... realizing how inappropriate this action looked.

"Y/N are you seriously playing with food?" Osamu was baffled by her action as he wasn't expecting it but also because he had an unspoken golden rule that you should never play with food.

"I'm sorry. But I just realized this is completely inappropriate..."

"Ohh... I didn't mean to offend you. My hands were just occupied and it doesn't mean anything... We're like colleagues."

"Not that exactly but its inappropriate to your fiancee... If she found out I fed you in such a way it hurt her feelings." Y/N confessed and she wasn't even sure why she did.

"Huh?"

"AND YOU SHOULDN'T JUST REACT IN THAT WAY EITHER! YOU SHOULD REJECT ACTIONS LIKE THAT!" Y/N scolded Osamu but did she have a right too. She knew it wasn't her place to wonder about his relationship with someone else but at the same time this bothered her so much she couldn't sleep well. She remembered her interview with him and a part of her felt that with one question, he could have been talking about her. But if he had a fiancee it only made sense that she was the one he was thinking about.

Why would he even think of a girl he already rejected?

"Fiancee? What are you talking ab---" He stopped himself and remembered Rei's visit. "Y/N wait! Rei isn't my fiancee!" He blutered out.

"Huh?"

"Have you been assuming this entire time the girl you met that day... Was my girlfriend?" Osamu asked with such serious eyes.

"Was she not?" Y/N asked.

"Noooo! In fact I'd appreciate if you didn't make that comment in front of Tsumu. He'd get a good punch in on me."

"But isn't she the person you asked to have present for our meeting? She seems very important."

"She's basically my sister in law but she's not the one coming to our meeting. My friend Yuna helps with my event planning so I asked her to come."

Y/N covered her face embarrassed by her sudden outburst as well as how terrible she read that situation. "I'm sorry Miya-san, I crossed a professional boundary by asking that."

Osamu laughed as he couldn't help but imagine how she looked like thinking about his relationship this entire time, although he wasn't any different.

"If I cross one as well, can we call it even?"

Y/N looked back at him, "Are you in a relationship with anyone?"

"Miya-san that's not ap---"

Osamu cut Y/N off, "Appropriate... Yeah that's why I said we'd be even."

".... No, I'm not." After hearing her answer, Osamu wasn't curious anymore to ask who picked her up. He was content knowing she was single and that was enough.

"Well clearing the air between that, how about we get back to work. I'll still need your help though." Osamu asked as his hands were still not free.

"Just this once." Y/N said as she picked up the onigiri again and guided it towards his mouth.

Osamu smiled as he opened his mouth as Y/N was about to feed him. But sadly before he could try it, his front door burst open with a loud voice filling the quiet atmosphere they had.

"IM HOME MY LOVELY BRO BRO!!!!!" Atsumu yelled out, slamming open the restaurant doors and popping confetti, "IM HUNGRY LETS EA---"
