Even though Sophie is super dense, I think it's hilarious that I'm somehow even denser than she is.

Like, it took me until book SIX to realize that Fitz liked Sophie. I thought he saw her as a sister lol, and that he was the type of person to do nice gestures without realizing that they had any romantic implication. I thought Sophie was just reading into things too much. So when I finally realized it, I totally struggled to wrap my head around it, because I'd been so convinced Fitz thought of her as a little sister.

And as a hardcore Sokeefe shipper, I of course knew that Keefe liked her, but I had no idea that it was since book one. I thought his feelings started in book four, maybe book three, so that was definitely a surprise. Like, I don't think I'd even considered him liking her in books one/two, I thought he just saw her as fun to tease lol.

The only one I got from the beginning was Dex's feelings for Sophie, and I honestly shipped them quite a bit in book one. That was until I realized that they were, uh, cousins (adopted but still) and dropped that ship so quickly.

Also shoutout to Jensi, the first character I shipped with Sophie for all of two seconds, before I realized that he was a minor character. Love their friendship in Stellarlune though! :D

An intriguing proposition. The specifics of the dynamic would depend on where in time we're drawing Jensi from; if we're going with earlier in the series, we'd have more of an opposites attract situation, with Tam's distrustful nature vs Jensi's overly enthusiastic and eager one.

If we draw from recent books instead, we could have a more equal disillusionment with the world--Tam as a social reject from birth exacerbated when he manifested, Jensi as someone recently confronting the realization he's going to be outcast. In fact, Jensi's disillusionment could be what pushes the two together, him looking for comfort and understanding and Tam able to provide it. Of course their situations aren't identical, but there's a basis of relation

I'm confident Tam would give zero shits about Jensi being talentless, and that kind of complete certainty in how little it actually matters could help build Jensi's confidence back--perhaps then creating the distrustful v. eager dynamic I mentioned. But this time with a more mature undertone.
