1. The character everyone gets wrong
Oh this happens to like. All my favorite characters every time I get into something it’s so sad.
Some standouts:
Biana Vacker from KOTLC (not by the modern KOTLC Tumblr fandom but on here in like 2020-2021 and still to this day on other sites with younger userbases) who seems to have her personality distilled a lot. She always gets portrayed as like this sassy best friend matchmaking all the ships and her canon personality gets thrown out the window. People also ignore her trauma like… canonically this girl’s father was reduced to a state of mind-scrambled insanity and she hid from everyone for weeks iirc and nobody EVER talks about that. This girl who grew up being valued for her high status and beauty and not who she was as a person was shoved through a mirror and not only suffered physical wounds that made her pass out of blood loss but also the trauma of the experience and the fact that she was now covered in scars and outside of the impossibly high beauty standard that she was taught to hold her self esteem in, and did all the healing from ALL OF THIS offscreen because it wasn’t interesting enough to write about I guess and then the fandom barely ever talks about it! Most of the fandom won’t even draw Biana with the scars!! I know there are other characters people do this even worse about because no one’s trauma other than Sophie and Keefe seems to matter to this fandom in general but it’s still annoying.
Martin Blackwood from TMA gets like. Uwuifyed by the fandom a lot is the best way I can explain it. Like yes he is a nice person that is a major character trait for him I get that, but the series also shows he can be manipulative if he has to, he can lie if he has to, he’s petty, he’s openly hypocritical in some scenarios. This adds to his character and people remove it sometimes because they don’t know how to deal with the fact that none of the protagonists are perfect saints because it is not that kind of series.
9. Worst part of canon
Idk what fandom to ask this for I actually don’t think I have many hot takes on canon in any of them. I’ll just go with KOTLC again and say that there’s the fact that so much of the books make it abundantly obvious that Shannon was like “oh shit I gotta add racial diversity to the books” and proceeded not to research a lot of things she should have. Lots of racist undertones in the series that other people have talked about already and I don’t think they are intentional but that really doesn’t change much.

Alright guys, we’re doing a Sophitz ship week—starting the 22nd (see schedule below). For anyone who doesn’t know, some of these were run back in late 2020 to early 2021, courtesy @cadence-talle and others, but a Sophitz week never actually happened. So at long last, I’m here to write that wrong (pun intended).
I’ll be posting prompts regularly throughout the week. The prompts will include broad and specific ideas, and you can pick whichever sparks your creativity best. All forms of content are welcome (from moodboards to art to fanfiction, and whatever else you come up with), and interpretations can be romantic or platonic!
While I will be running the event from this blog, @sophitz-week will be a gallery of creations based on the week, so make sure to check that out!
The tags to use are #sophitz week and #kotlc ship weeks 2020. (Sorry if the year is confusing, but I’m trying to keep consistent with the other weeks!)

Sophiana Ship Week Day Four
Pairing: Sophie Foster x Biana Vacker
Prompt: Late Nights
Word Count: 372 (sorry it’s so short lol)
Warnings: Fluff and bad writing
(A/N): Sorry this is so short, and that I didn’t participate in the last two days. I’ve had a poetry project due for school, and I’m not a good poet so it takes up a lot of time. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this fluff!
“Do you miss it?”
Sophie looked over at her wife, who was snuggled up on the couch laying beside her. The two were wearing matching candy cane striped pajamas, and reindeer slippers. Home Alone was playing on the TV screen, filling Sophie with nostalgia. She was glad Biana had been so open to learning about Christmas and celebrating with her.
“Miss what, Bi?” She wrapped an arm around Biana’s shoulders.
“The Lost Cities. Our families. Our friends.”
She thought for a long moment. “Sometimes. I miss the people more than anything. But… after Dex and I got kidnapped nothing was ever the same. I didn’t fit in before that, and it only got worse from there. It was almost a home, but never quite.”
Biana nodded, and snuggled into Sophie's side.
“What about you, flower?” Sophie asked. Using the nickname she had given her beautiful wife.
“I miss it some days more than others.” Biana admitted. “Living there was a lot of pressure, and honestly pretty traumatic at times. I don’t miss anything to do with the Black Swan or the Neverseen. But… I miss my mom. And brothers. Well, just Ftz I guess. I miss the Alvar I grew up with.”
Sophie nodded sympathetically.
She understood where Biana was coming from. As screwed up as their teenage years had been, there were good parts as well. She would always miss Edaline comforting her after a long day, and Grady letting her help with chores around the reserve. She even missed Foxfire, as stressful as the classes had been. And of course, her friends weighed heavy on her mind. They probably hated her.
“But, I don’t regret coming with you.” Biana looked up at her, teal eyes wide. “It’s the best decision I’ve ever made.”
“I love you, Bi.” Sophie leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
“I love you too, Soph.”
They turned back to the TV, watching as Kevin's family realized they had forgotten him.
“You know…” Sophie smirked. “There are two more of these. We could watch all of them and have a Christmas movie marathon.”
“That sounds amazing.” Biana smiled. The two snuggled under a blanket, getting ready for the late night of laughter and love.

I CANNOT believe fakemintan + Dawnbreaker infiltrated the Tumblr fandom. That's absolutely insane. Fakemintie was a popular figure on the wiki fandom from about 2018-2019, and I think about her almost every day. She was the creator of bald Keefe, as well as many other wonderful edits, and she shipped herself with Fintan: FakeMintan. quil if you want me to, I could go on forever and tell you the entire history of fakemintan and the fakemintan wiki and what the 2018 wiki fandom was like. it's a RIDE. there was also gisorkle, which was some really complicated theory involving Lady Gisela and Mr. Forkle (not a ship), but I'd have to consult someone more involved in that.
Unfortunately, most of the original posts were lost when FANDOM transitioned to a new platform in 2020. The content was so good, too... it's too bad. But one of the current wiki administrators, Gildie-Everblaze, was one of the authors of Dawnbreaker, and she would know better than me.
unfortunately the legend fakemintie disappeared one day and was never seen again :( and her IRL friend Mintie, who was a wiki admin 2020-2021, is gone now too, so there's no way at all to contact her. I miss her.
sorry for infodumping, it's just that I could talk for literal hours about the history of the fandom + explaining it— I've thought about making YouTube videos before about it—
who knew my offhanded shitpost would awaken such a visceral, ingrained memory in so many people !!
the wiki sounds like an absolutely chaotic place to be, I must admit. though the FakeMintie being a username makes a lot more sense as to where the name came from. naming a goldfish after yourself or however that worked out is a little less explainable but honestly projecting yourself into a story as a goldfish is understandable. wake up babe new y/n just dropped, if you get what I mean. Also, I think i've seen bald keefe! I don't see a lot of kotlc edits (in case you couldn't tell, I've kinda dug myself very deep into the character analysis/logistical side of the fandom. i might be that side of the fandom). I have a memory of other bald edits following afterwards, some becoming profile pics. but i could be making that up
gisorkle is funny just for the name itself. like snorkling. brb just gonna go gisorkling. but whatever theories there were behind that sound intriguing!
oh no! sorry so much of the content got lost--I can only imagine how devastating that would be. FakeMintan seems to be pretty well loved by a fair number of people...
it's always bittersweet when people you interacted with/followed/just saw around disappear from the internet. Not too long ago i was going through my following list and unfollowing a bunch of blogs that were inactive now and so many of them hadn't posted since like 2019 and it felt so strange, which i guess my brain has made an association to your Mintie disappearing. i hope maybe one day you'll be able to get in contact again--you never know! Just a few weeks ago one of the people I knew from elementary school found my email and reached out to me to reconnect. Hadn't seen him or heard from him in over five years and yet suddenly we (and another person from then) were just talking like we'd never separated. so maybe you'll find him again!
and don't worry: there's nothing to apologize for! i think a lot of the knowledge you have is fascinating, and I'm entirely open to hearing whatever it is you'd want to share. Also, if you felt like making youtube videos, I'd 100% watch! it's super cool when people have very expansive knowledge of very niche things!!

So about that ML post... let me tell you about a really wild time that was known as April 2020
@/buggachat made a joke about Adrien looking up his name and Chat Noir to see if people had theories about him being Chat... except he accidentally discovers fanfic that shipped Adrien and Chat (adrichat)
Anyways the fandom went *wild* with this, fanart and fanfics and headcanons that slowly went from Adrien going "Uh what" to Adrien having a crush on himself and actively writing his own fanfics (maribug and others ended up coming about too)
I just want to let you know that a good chunk of the content happened within like... 5 days. So much happened that on tumblr's top 20 ships for the week, Adrichat managed to get #2.
Adrichat was the #2 most posted about ship on Tumblr for the week, more popular than the Love Square itself
(So what evil was happening in that post? This is the evil that happened (it was so hilarious though, buggachat herself was so confused, because this was just a joke that ended up blowing up))
Oh forking hell that's wild. That just proves how absolutely crazy fandoms can be. I knew a bit about Adrichat, but the second most posted ship for the week is just wow.

hey! I decided to drop the requirements for the reward down. Previously, I said:
anyone who participates in every prompt by (not on) July 3 will receive an exclusive sneak peek of my long-term WIP: “A Barista’s Guide to Getting a Boyfriend (The Wrong Way).” It’s a coffee shop AU that includes fake dating and a whole lot of pining.
I didn’t anticipate that many people would be that interested in the prize, so I didn’t worry about the goal too much. But it turns out that y’all are interested!
So instead, you just have to participate in four days (still by July 3) to receive the sneak peek. And if you participate in less and still feel like you deserve the prize, let me know! If you’re not able to participate that much because of mental/physical illness, or if you were really inspired by one prompt and want to focus a lot on that, etc. that’s totally okay!
The point of the event is to have fun, to be inspired, and to encourage content around a ship I love—not to feel obligated to do something you don’t like. Still, I want it to be a bit of a challenge. I want to push people to try to do a little more creating than they usually would, because I know just how good creativity is for you. <3
p.s. just please don’t share the sneak peek with people who didn’t ask for the prize—this WIP is super important to me, and I don’t want to share it too freely yet. I’m trusting you all to keep it to yourselves! <3
