desperate times, desperate measures

Tonight is turning out to be my fifth night of sleep deprivation due to a nasty upper respiratory virus running its course through my system. Thankfully, it's not Covid (which I've already had twice), but I'm only getting about three hours of sleep each night due to excessive post nasal drip & phlegm that wakes me up from coughing and bad nausea. Unfortunately, I used up the last of my sick time to call out on Sunday (with Monday as my regular day off) and had to go back to work on Tuesday. Between the exhaustion, coughing, and nausea, it was pure misery.

If I call out again, I will reach my work limit (only 5 absences allowed in a rolling six month period) and will be subject to dismissal (sadly, that's the state of employment for most 'essential workers' in the US these days), so I'm going to have to apply for a 3-day leave of absence (minimum I can request) in order to save my job. Meaning I'll be short three days pay towards my lodging next week.

As much as I hate to ask for help once again, I have to try to raise $300 to cover the difference.

my challenges continue...

I'm happy to share that I've been managing a bit better at making ends meet these past several weeks, as I continue to search for a permanent home. However, the wait list for low-income housing in my state remains closed; one of my coworkers who lost her apartment due to a fire (a priority classification for such housing) has been homeless for as long as I have and hasn't moved up a single spot on that list. So for now, I'm still paying for a room week to week.

Thankfully, a family member helped me pay for this week (through Sunday morning, April 7), but now I'm running short for next week, as both the storage fee for my belongings and my car insurance went up 15 - 20%. I've put off asking for help for as long as I could, but now I'm facing losing my lodging come Tuesday if I can't come up with enough money to pay out next week (I'll be able to cover the following week as I get paid next Thursday).

So I'm making this emergency request to raise $235 to keep a roof over my head at the cheaper weekly rate.

As ever, I appreciate any help anyone can manage, as well as any reblogs to share my request!💗Thank you, thank you, thank you😌.

Hi guys, there might be some good news around the corner for me.

So good news I have applied for and will soon be moving into a new apartment by Thursday or Friday (December 8-9), so horray!

But unfortunately I may not have sufficient funds for the first month’s rent and I won’t get any help from my family at the moment. So I’m asking for some help paying at least half of the deposit plus first month’s rent so I can no longer be homeless!

I currently have a Ko-Fi open to get the funds necessary, so please either reblog or spread this around so I can get some help!

anyone have any experience with ko-fi. am thinking abt it. however my friend raised the concern that since transactions go thru paypal and u need to use ur full name and stuff there, that if someone donates to u on ko-fi, in their activity/history (for transactions) on paypal, they might see ur full name and stuff which. Is not a reassuring thought

but we don’t know if that’s actually what happens and i haven’t seen anything clarifying that on ko-fi sooo if anyone has any experience there and can clear that up. please 🤲🤲🤲🤲
