I just wanna say that every time I see Kat as a character (in any of her forms) in your AU's, I internally squeal in delight! I never thought my lil comfort OC would ever exist outside of my own AU's!

Also, Soulmate AU Desher and Atem live rent free in my head lol. I can picture Atem finally getting his alone time with Desher, and in comes kitty shoving herself between them and demanding Desher's attention (like the attention hog she is lol)

Funnily enough, her inclusion was a complete coincidence at first, but now I can't imagine this au (and the guard!kura au) without her! Kat made a home for herself in the back of my mind and forces my hand to draw her whenever it suits her. In any case, I'm glad that her inclusion brings you joy! :3

And yes, that absolutely does happen XD

Kitty pops out of nowhere and literally jumps between them before they can kiss and stuff

Also, @antaresr gave me this idea, which is canon in the au now!

Atem will eventually grow to tolerate the cat to a degree because it makes Desher happy. Big emphasis on eventually. That cat is the bane of his existence lol

imagine randomly meowing at the touchstarved characters (uhm yes i do this…am i ashamed? no bcus it scares my friendz😈) personally i think leander would do it back, except he sounds like hes dying. im telling you this mans voice cracked, and he sounded like a banshee and you’re just like “wtf are you trying to sound like???..” the ones who would just stare at you would probably be mhin and kuras(though i think it depends on kuras’s mood like if he feels a little devious.) and finally vere and ais would flirt with you, would probably make a sexual innuendo about you being their little pet and call you kitty (or vere would chase you like your his prey….)

this gave me incredibly vivid flashbacks to my server meow channel . we just Say Meow irl but i love and respect u actually meowing IM SO BAD AT IT? anyways this ask is real. u have my stamp of approval. canon

like leander would be like . "Meow???" and you'd do it again. and he'd say meow or ask what you're doing. and you'd meow Again before he actually tried meowing. not good at it but give him a chance. eventually he'll do one really good meow and both of u will celebrate don't worry

mhin absolutely stares and asks what you're doing before choosing to ignore it. won't meow back. joke's on them bc u meow at the cats on patrol and they respond. kuras is more amused after the initial confusion + comments on how good u are at it. might say a meow if u keep asking. generally doesn't mind and then plays along as if u just said an actual sentence

if ais will drink leander's awful looking drink i think u could goad him into trying bc u said he'd never be as good & he'd try to hide the fact he's slightly annoyed he can't meow. if u don't do that then yes he Will make a joke about calling u kitten instead of sparrow. vere would Also ask if he should call u kitten and is more likely to actually do so if u meow again. goes further and says smth about u wanting a collar or behaving. bro Relax

7. your preferred writing fonts

For the longest time it was Arial, then basically from Covid lockdowns to maybe about a year ago I was a Comic Sans truther. But recently I've been using Optima and Trebuchet! There is something very delightfully round about them... they are soft like bunnies.... Bonus points, they're a bit of larger, thicker fonts, which makes is much easier for me to read. I have no idea if I'm dyslexic because I've never been tested but reading--while fun and one of my favorite pass-times--is like. So hard. And it feels like the longer I've been out of Lit classes the harder and harder reading gets. :') I've got a mountain of fics and books I'd like to read but it takes a lot of energy to keep track of what line im on that i gotta save it all up for writing... ive had city of dogs open in a tab for like months now bro i just wanna read.... TAT

But yeah I love me them thicker rounder weighted sort of fonts.

9. start to finish, how long did it take you to write the last fic you posted?

so the last finished one-shot i posted was Who We Don't Expect to See, which took probably about six months to a year wrestling to get the dialogue to behave. The last complete multi-chapter fic was the Baristsa on Autumnal Avenue, which took about nine months!

As for unfinished works, I'm expecting Maelstrom to probably take another year , maybe year and a half at this pace! Ideally, I'd love to have it done by December which would mean a year and two months total, but we'll have to see thinking emoji

16. favorite place to write

I'm usually either at my desk in my office or on my couch lol and that's just a question of whether I feel more like writing on my desktop or my laptop! But since I started back at my local community college, I've found INSANE productivity at the campus cafe!! I don't know what it is, but as soon as my ass is sitting at the table with a coffee I'm like fucking sonic the hedgehog the way I start pumping chapters out. Probably about 80% of Maelstrom fic's been written in that little cafe!!

24. how do you recharge when you’re not feeling creative?

banging my head against the wall until im creative again :( or until i knock myself out, whichever comes first

actually lol I spend a lot of my recharge time watching youtube or playing video games. I'm big into Splatoon and Phasmophobia! I used to be really into Fall Guys until Epic bought the game out. but mostly it's just youtube these days lolll cause once im out of creative juice thats like. it. my energy's gone and i tend to spiral, so I'll end up just snuggling my kitty and watching gamegrumps or something (i dont know why, he just really likes watching game grumps)

I'm gonna count the 487 words I spilled into a doc as writing for today.

Nothing that really adds to anything, just a small scene that I may or may not use in a future chapter. I just needed to write something.

Brain was being a massive ass (see earlier post).

Took another go at the whole digital art thing. Definitely less pixilation now that I know how to change the canvas size. Unfortunately with the barometric pressure doing it's thing, I was too shaky to even follow basic lines. Anxiety from brain being an ass didn't help.

I managed to gain two levels on one of my other FFXIV character jobs though. I have 2 others that I like to play on other than my Kura bunny. One is a kitty named Ali Kat. She was actually the first character I created when I started playing FFXIV. The other is a bunny girl named Morrighan Rhavina.

FFXIV characters dump below the cut because I can.

Ali Kat as RDM (Red Mage)

Morrighan Rhavina as RDM (I really like playing Red Mage lol)

Kura Touzuko as RDM (I love how grumpy he looks)

They all have at least 2 other jobs that I actively level, but RDM is the only one I could remember after having not played for about a year.

Other jobs for each:

Ali Kat- Ninja (NIN), Samurai (SAM), Machinist (MCH)

Morrighan Rhavina- Dragoon (DRG), Bard (BRD)

Kura Touzuko- Summoner (SMN), Ninja (NIN)

Whenever I’m trying to sleep and Kura comes to sit on top of me I just pretend to be asleep and it’s so funny what she does to try to get my attention. It’s a test of my willpower for me to be hearing and feeling this kitty rolling around and headbutting my face and making weird little meows without breaking and petting her. Frankly my success rate isn’t very good.

January 10, 2024:

Did some work then went shopping in Shimokitazawa. Definitely an interesting place!

January 11, 2014:

Checked out the Human Made store along with some thrifts in the Harajuku area.

January 12, 2024:

Did some work and then showed my boss around Shibuya. Hit the club and got stuck because the trains don’t run after a certain hour. Absolute nightmare getting home.

January 13, 2024: Went to Tokyo Big Sight to check out a shop fair. Bought some very cool prints. It decided to snow today for a very short period. Went back to Daiba then Hooters.

January 14, 2024: Checked out the Ameyoko Shopping District in Ueno then went to Ce La Vi in Shibuya.

January 15, 2024:

Tokyo Dome and Donki run.

January 16, 2024:

Work then shopped around Shibuya and Miyashita Park.

January 17, 2024:

Somehow ended up at Shimokitazawa again then went to Nakano Broadway and had a gigantic bowl of ramen at Kamukura.

January 18, 2024:

Did some work then wandered around and ended up at Daikanyama T Site which was super cool.

January 19, 2024:

Had some Italian food at the place near me.

January 20, 2024:

Went to Kawasaki. Shopped around there at the book off. Had whoopi goldburger in shibuya. Then went to this random punk bar.

January 21, 2024:

Went to the Mirage Bowl which is a football matchup between Japan and the Ivy League. Somehow Japan won 10-5. Then checked out the Olympic Park and Akihabara.

January 22, 2024:

Walked around Jimbocho and went to Yakiniku Ike which is a make your own meat spot

January 23, 2024:

Worked then went to Dover Street in Ginza then the Tokyo Dome

January 24, 2024:

Went to Saiyzeria then Donki along with Tokyo Dome. Then was able to check out the character street in Tokyo Station.

January 25

Worked then went to Curry Up. Kinji and a couple other stores were cool.

January 26

Want to go check out Crocodile and hit the Bruno Mars hello kitty pop up store. Also went to this weird comedy club.

January 27

Went to Ultraman Street in Setagaya which I would not recommend. Also went to Toho Studios. Ate at the Murakami Cafe in Nakamo Broadway and the Hooters in Ginza again.

January 28

Back to the Ueno market and watched my Ducks get smoked. Then went to Donki and would not recommend the soccer museum in Tokyo Dome City.

Checked out FTC and Komeda’s Coffee. Went to Worm which is crazy. Did a weird cooking class.

February 1

Went to Syabu yo

Went clubbing all night with some friends started at Voyagrr which is cool then Atom which sucks. Ended up at 33.

Shopped around Bape and the other Shibuya stores.

February 4

Walked around Shibuya and went to the Miyashita park Inter Miami pop up.

February 5

It snowed a lot. Went to the Snoopy restaurant then bowling. Then walked around Tokyo Dome.

February 6

Did some work went to Donki.

February 7

Walked around the Taylor Swift Concert. Then went to the Inter Miami Game saw Messi play.

February 8

My interview at the Inter Miami Game is released. Went to the Voyager Lounge again. Sprinted and made last train.

February 9

Secured Ghibli tickets. Then went to Tokyo Dome. Saw a friend I’ve know forever. Went out to dinner with some pals in Shinjuku.

February 11

Went to Granberry Park. Nike store insane. Want to go to Peanuts Museum. Went to the movies. The 身代わり忠臣蔵 film is really cool.

February 12

Woke up early as hell went to HobGlobin for the Super Bowl. Insane atmosphere. Then went to the Shinjuku hat shop.

February 13

Kura revolving sushi and the Sensoji temple in Asakusa.

February 14

Volunteered at a school. The burger place in shibuya next to Jennifer 7 is so good. Checked out MeijuJingu shrine which is beautiful.

February 15

Ohi flea market which is mid then went to Betty Smith in Ebisu then met up with Sean Wotherspoon. Hit the first bape outlet mid. Then went to Bloody Angle then a pregame spot then experienced the craziest club scene at Womb. Ended up at 33.

Legit slept the entire day after clubbing but hit Donki.

Day 11 - Kyoto

We managed to find ourselves on the Hello Kitty Shinkansen train as we made out way from Osaka to Kyoto. After arriving, we trekked through the rain to Toji Temple, where the world’s largest pagoda stands. We were luck in that on that day they were letting people into the pagoda, and we got to see inside. We walked around the gardens for some time as the rain kept on pouring. We also explored a traditional style house that had beautiful gardens in it. In my opinion, the rock garden there, with it’s scattered trees, looks better than the famed rock garden that we would see on a later day.

We got a konbini lunch at the train station before stopping by the hotel to change our water logged shoes and head for Fushimi Inari Shrine. The signature red torii gates greeted us and some of us attempted to make the climb to the top. I only made it about halfway before I felt like I needed to turn back, the randomly increases in the amount of rain making it harder to keep going. The path back down to the main shrine was very interesting, and really shows how tradition is kept alongside everyday modern life in Japan, as the path took us through a residential area that continued to have torii gates and small shrines scattered between houses. The sun finally made an appearance at the very end of the day, when we were treated to a beautiful sunset framed by Kyoto’s tall buildings.

For dinner, I made my way to a Kura Revolving Sushi restaurant, having wanted to see the difference between the ones in Japan and the ones in the US. The biggest difference was in the rolls, as they didn’t have anything like a California roll or even the signature “Kura rolls” they have in the US. I ate to my hearts content, happy to find that it was quite affordable too.
