As weak and gullible as our species may be, there are also those of us who are completely unpredictable.

And humans are built to endure anything and everything.

We have a level of anger worse than ANY other being I've ever met. Like- worse than God if I'm being real here.

We used to be able to run prey like MAMMOTHS down until it fucking died of heatstroke and we'd eat that mf and harvest it.

What's worse is nowadays we wipe out entire species that frighten us, look pretty to us and make profit, or are a threat to us and our livestock if we farm.

What's worse is that humans develop so... fucking... fast..

We have weapons like no other could ever have. If all the governments so desired, they could just destroy the world with nukes. That is what humans can do.

Now think about this in the touchstarved universe where we don't have nukes and all that, but we have magic and alchemy and probably shit like guns and other weapons. Things we could probably mix to cultivate a more controlled nuke, but a nuke.

The fact that there are HUMANS who can hunt and kill Soulless shows that if everyone were to step the fuck up, humans could very well wipe out the entire population of Soulless. If education were easily accessible to all, then humans could very well fuck up monsters like it's nothing. All we have to do is stick together. Humans are literally pack animals. We do best in groups.

In touchstarved, it doesn't matter how weak or strong a human is, so long as they can outmaneuver whatever threat is there and they have the resources to either trap, kill, outsmart, or gain the favor of the threat they face.

We seem to be good at doing all of that. Especially outsmarting and gaining favor. (Usually with food or sex)

No. Just because Leander and Mhin are weaker than the rest of the cast, does not mean they could not and would not kill anyone else.

Kuras is a stretch for anyone tho.

Finally after a year, I proudly present y'all Asmara and Intisar full body sprite! 🥰

I redesign their outfit a bit to suit their personality more. Intisar got a detailed beautiful embroidery wrapping his arm, and dark blue dupatta with matching embroidery design! (I love how the velvet texture turns out 💙).

While Asmara got new manarkali sherwani ♡ As a comparison, Asmara previously had a literal peacock tail accessories. I think those design is too festive for an adventurous story, so I replaced it with a cute latkan(tassel) inspired by peacock feather! (Do not worries cause Asmara's peacock tail will be back on his masquerade design! 😍)

I WANTED TO KNOW WHY AIS CALLS MC SPARROW AND I WAS LIKE

I grabbed an article.

This makes me wonder what the dynamic between Ais and MC is supposed to be.

Ais said he found the nickname "Sparrow" to be more fitting.

Clearly the Sparrow is supposed to represent some form of remaining positive and persevering in the face of adversity. Perhaps this relates to keeping Ais grounded; maybe even helping him keep control of himself.

MC is a source of hope for Ais?

And if a Sparrow visits you, in many cultures it means protection and good luck.

Ais saw something in you that made him view you as that symbol. A symbol of good luck at the very least, and seeing how low his luck is, we can confirm he certainly needs it.

Now maybe, even if MC's luck isn't as good as it could be, MC is still luckier than anyone else there. MC lucks up a lot, and based on the implications that Ais brought MC to Kuras' clinic, he probably knows that. That's why he called them Sparrow. They were lucky enough to survive.

And if MC stays with him and chooses to help him, that would make MC his protective charm against Ocudeus and the Seaspring in a way, keeping him from losing himself. He has something else to focus on now, and someone to help him, and probably someone to return the favor for.

So here are my general impressions of the Touchstarved MCs based on the demo and OCs.

Unnamed: Religious trauma, cult survivor, in their “fall from grace” arc, “woman? no you misheard. I identify as an omen,” can range anywhere from wet cat to mass murderer with the highest kill count out of all of the origins (usually it’s both)

Hound: Poverty trauma, “eye of a needle,” career criminal — but if they weren’t, they give me union comrade vibes, either Just Some Guy™ or the deadliest badass there is no in between, but either way they’re probably really sad.

Alchemist: Parental trauma (whether it’s from birth parents or a parental figure via magic mentor), gifted kid burnout, there’s a little mad scientist in there — whether it is dormant, repressed, or fully embraced, there is a powerful compulsion to conduct ✨Experiments✨, Nerd™

This goes without saying but they also all need therapy.
