In honor of Halloween, here's some headcanons about how the seven kingdoms (plus Saporia and the Dark Kingdom) celebrate Halloween!
Bayangor calls it the Spirit Harvest, or Jīngshén synkomidí. They celebrate with masquerade balls all over the country, but the best one is always at the palace. They also set out food and shrines to their dead ancestors, and lay out food for Hades and Persephone as well
Rapunzel still calls it Marmalade Moon Night, but the rest of Corona calls it Hallow-Feast. Corona's the kingdom whose celebration is closest to how America celebrates it; with costumes and trick or treating and they have a parade the night before. During trick or treating there's a huge potluck feast in the town square
Instead of celebrating the dead, Koto uses Halloween to celebrate the magic in their country, calling it Witch's Day. There's a small feast and tons of magic shows/games (think Olympics for wizards) and plays about historical icons of magic
Ingvarr uses Halloween as a day to celebrate and remember their fallen warriors, as well as their fallen enemies. Every year there's a play about the creation of Ingvarr. Similar to Saporia, they have bonfires in the streets and children run around banging their swords and shields (or pots and pans) to scare off spirits
Neserdnia and Galcrest the only kingdoms that don't celebrate any kind of Halloween
Pittsford also has trick or treating, but it's way lower scale than Corona. Their main tradition is carving out jack o'lanterns to guide Jack of the Lantern, also known as Jack Skeleton or Skellington, back home. Jack is a lonely trickster spirit in Pittsford folklore, said to have wandered into the woods following strange lights on Halloween night only to never be seen again
Of all the kingdoms, Saporia RULES Halloween. It's one of their most sacred holidays, and they call it Hallow's Eve. It's also called the Feast of Kaldur, their god of death. They celebrate for seven nights straight with bonfires, feasts, and ballads under the stars so they can celebrate with both Skinandi as well as their dead. Saporian magic users also have seances, using owl feathers to call to Kaldur to guide their dead home for a night
The Dark Kingdom has never had a Halloween before, but they're slowly starting to make it a thing

Yes hello hi, I said I'd start posting here, so here goes LOL
These are some fake screenshots I created for my 7 Kingdoms story (and with the power of order, I can post them in chronological order LMAO)
This would be the second trial, the Water trial. And I definitely think this would happen in Neserdnia (if y'all remember the 7 Kingdoms actually had names). Up at the top of the archipelago, there was a spring. The water was clear as could be, and you could see all the way to the bottom... And the water itself could give you the ability to breathe and swim underwater with ease! But there were creatures lurking in the depths...
Sirens... Sirens that could show you visions of your ideal life. They lure you in, only to capture you in their blade-like appendages.
Varian is the first to realize something is wrong, and he's able to break free of their spell with only a small injury to his arm. He's able to warn the others before going to Hugo, who is completely entranced by the siren.
The siren is promising him a life with no more poverty, no more running, and he gets to stay with his new friends. Much to Varian's horror, it's his own voice that comes out of the siren's mouth and says that to Hugo, the siren's hair and eyes morphing into a mirror image of Varian's. And before Varian can snap Hugo out of the trance, the siren makes its move.
Hugo is badly injured, the siren stabbing through his shoulder, but Varian manages to free him and start swimming frantically for the surface. Hugo is, not shockingly, very surprised that Varian is saving him without question. He's done nothing to prove the gang can trust him, so why is Varian saving him? Only time will tell...
I'm gonna work on posting more of these. I haven't forgotten about Tumblr LOL

Are there any good clear pictures of the emblems of the seven kingdoms? Or behind-the-scenes art of them?
The other kingdom's emblems can be seen here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second image is for the full view of Neserdnia's.
The only behind the scenes art I have from the Seven Kingdoms is in this post, but it's all small and blurry.

ALRIGHT I have PROGRESS. Follow up to this post, behold: the (updated) Moonrise Map of the 7 Kingdoms + Equis + The Dark Kingdom
I bring both a colored and uncolored version. Whichever is easier to read <:]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes it looks like I did just crop a part of a continent to show you. Big chances I'm still gonna edit this but I AM MUCH HAPPIER. KRESTEN LOCH EXISTS GUYS !!!
A few things have been done to make everything make sense:
- In "Not in the Mood", the representative of Pittsford leaves in a little boat, which means my original design where Pittsford is landlocked is debunked.
- In "Pascal's Dragon", we get shipment from Neserdnia, implying it too has sea access. In "Day of the Animals", our team is on a feeble little cart ride on their way to Neserdnia. I have no idea how they thought they could go that far without a carriage at least, but assuming they're already on Neserdnian territory just on their way to where they actually want to go... Well. Canon is weird.
- The green, unnamed spots are unclaimed or unexplored areas.
- Kingdoms closer to Corona are warmer, whereas those closest to the Dark Kingdom are colder. Rakesh is the only area in the entirety of the cold-side that has farmlands thanks to Saporia's magic combined with the naturally fertile land of a volcanic area.
- The food that once was acquired only through Ingvarr (who got said food by using greenhouses designed to keep their crops alive despite the natural cold) could now be mass produced in the Dark Kingdom, feeding all of its population and having enough to sell off to neighboring kingdoms even cheaper than Ingvarr.
As Rakesh's farmlands grew, Ingvarr's economy crashed when their crops were no longer being sold in favor of Rakesh's cheaper ones. It led to many conflicts between the Dark Kingdom and Ingvarr, pushing the Dark Kingdom's people to continue training warriors to defend against Ingvarr's occasional attacks—which only stopped after the Exile during King Edmund's reign.
Ingvarr is now the main provider of food to Galcrest and the few Rakeshian villages that refused to leave the kingdom.
- The Great Tree and Demanitus' Maze became part of the Dark Kingdom territory about 1.5k years after the Great Saporia-Corona War.
- Demanitus' Tomb is technically located within Old Saporian territory; in modern days, it's considered within Coronan territory.
- The Spire, as well as Kresten Loch, are Galcrestian territory.

Writer's Month Day 7: In the Mountains
Fandom: Tangled: the Series (though once again, just Cassandra here; keeping things consistent for the nonce 😊)
Rating: G (very consistent)
Summary: Cassandra knows it's ridiculous, but she still can’t help but feel a sort of...kinship with the mountains of Corona. (not much plot again today, but the prose is kinda pretty, so there's that).
+++
There are mountains ringing Corona to the north, arcing along its border and extending down into the west where they taper off gently, forgivingly, into foothills. They are not conventionally pretty mountains. Too short to be as awesome as the ones that are the staunch guardians of Arendelle, those monstrous yet beautiful things that stand in state around the small seaside kingdom even as their slopes rumble warnings to those who mistake them as docile things and attempt a climb (folly unless you know how to Listen and Respect).
Nor are they lush and green and *alive* with jungles that peer, coquettishly, out over Neserdnia through fingers of mist, giggling as monsoon rains patter gaily against the banana leaves and fill the bromeliads that adorn them. Corona’s are some awkward, in-between sort of mountains that are perpetually caught in those uncomfortable teenage years, albeit one of cliffs and peaks and foliage rather than growing limbs and shifting senses of the world.
Clusters of tall, impassable wolf’s teeth of mountains tower over shorter, smiling ones that even a stooped-over dowager could navigate with nary more than a good walking stick. The trees populating their slopes (well, those that have slopes accepting of trees) are thoroughly lacking the sort of homogeneity that makes for a picturesque autumnal landscape painting, maples and oaks and birches with brilliant autumn finery stand crowded amongst spruces and feathery white pines and hollies who refuse to believe that green is *ever* out of season, themselves interspersed with a few grumbling plums determined to buck nature’s tide and insist that *purple* leaves are the color of the future (never mind the future never arrives, or that the other factions whisper judgments among themselves). The end result is a chaotic composition of too much color and too many opinions to ever make them a popular choice among Corona’s artistically inclined.
A handful are capped in snow, but not the sugar-dusted stuff of confectioner’s labor; treacherous, volatile piles perched in precarious ways that are merely biding their time as they wait for the permission granted by so little as a whisper to warrant crashing forth in an avalanche of white and temper. And the slopes that are bare of green or white? The drab gray tumbling down them, pimpled with boulders that jut from the scree at odd, cursed angles, is hardly the sort of harsh beauty the poets write of.
True, the royals have a cabin nestled somewhere among the harsher peaks, but the spot was chosen by an unfortunate king who felt God had erred and placed him on a throne instead of a hermit’s cave, valuing privacy and remoteness over convenience or pleasing views. It is not a popular retreat among the monarchy, as a whole preferring friendlier country houses they let from gentility who are in the market for favors and boasts, and it’s existence is mostly forgotten (and a topic of debate among the midnight patrons of Corona’s taverns). Rare is the king or queen who *chooses* to retreat to the world of ridges and cliffs.
So, no, Corona’s mountains are not pretty, but Cassandra doesn’t care. Gazing out at them from one of the guest suite’s windows, basket of barely-used bed linens in hand (honestly, if Duchess Stockton *insisted* on a new set every damn day, she could change them herself), she can’t help but feel a sort of...kinship with the mountains.
Ridiculous, she knows (they’re *mountains,* just glorified piles of rocks), but, well, she knows how people see them. The mountains. Too harsh in too many places, soft in all the wrong ones, and the antithesis of the prevailing idea of beauty. But there was more to them than that, she knew.
Because she saw.
The crags caught the setting sun as it westered towards the foothills, filling with pools of molten gold; the trees in all their shades rippled like she’d always fancied the rainbow scales of an Iris Basilisk did; and the way your eye traversed the line they drew across the sky, now rising, now falling, now climbing so high into the firmament it stole your breath, spoke of things that sent a thrill thrumming through her sinews.
Secrets waiting to be discovered. Adventure waiting to be had. Wildness waiting to be traversed so it may bestow upon the dauntless soul who dared ride through it exploits the stuff of legends and renown. And-
“Cassandra?”
Judith’s impertinent voice broke her reverie, and Cass turned from the vista with a sharper than normal scowl. “Aren’t you finished *yet?*“
“Yeah, yeah, I’m done.” Cass hefted the basket against her hip and stalked towards the door where Judith was leaning against it insouciantly. “Don’t you have anything better to do?”
Judith canted her head to a side, auburn locks brushing her shoulder as she looked at Cassandra consideringly. “Laundry, same as you, though mayhaps not for much longer.” A wicked smile flashed across her face and she used a foot to shove her own basket of bedsheets and clothes across the threshold. “Be a dear and carry my load down to the laundry yard, Cassandra? Since you’re going that way.”
“I’m not doing your-“
“And Maybe I’ll forget to tell Crowley I caught you daydreaming, hmm?”
A hectic red flashed up Cass’s neck as Judith gave a saucy wave and sauntered off down the hall, skirts swishing like the tail of a cat that fancied itself clever. She kept her tongue to herself, though (fists too, regretfully) and set her basket atop Judith’s so she could carry them two high, consoling herself with the fact that Judith’s lipstick was smudged in that singular way Crowley perennially disapproved of and always resulted in a night spent with supper dishes.
Cass paused before leaving the room, though, hand on the knob, and cast one last, longing look out the window before shutting the door on the mountains.
-And freedom.

Remake Neserdnian Royals
Remember the Polynesian looking royalties from Neserdnia in TTS? I kind of loved those, and found it a little sad that they were made into a context like they were. I honestly didn’t liek the way they were introduced. They didn’t fit into the Europeian 7 kingdom thing at all. I honestly thought they fitted better to be from let’s say Terapi Island.
So I took myself the liberty of remaking them so the’d look more Euripeian.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here they are. I first had the idea of making them itno an Avalor-like kingdom, but then I watched The Priate with Judy Garland, that takes place in a Carabiean place, and got the idea of making them a mix between Carabieans and Spanish looking people.
I know, I know, Carabiean isn’t at all European, but hey, is Polynesia? At least their outfits are more natural to Europeian and one step closer to the Neserdnian riding hats. I made them both everyday and formals, and the Queen’s pink formal gown reminds of the one Judy wore in the movie. But I kept the flowers and the pearls.
And another idea! I thought since they’re wearing those big, blue pearls, I imagined that Neserdnia had these special blue pers as a thing that only is found there, perhaps around their island?

*this is purely headcanon with certain amounts of research backing it up to make a reasonable conclusion*
okay, here's a footnote. I did this purely because I wrote a fic that INVOLVED the seven kingdoms but only as a passing mention and i really didn't feel like calling them "the air kingdom" or whatever. so i pulled up gen. facts abt vat7k and cross referenced. this is the result of this unholy union, i hope you enjoy
In this universe, there are a total of seven kingdoms that are in alliance with each other. Corona, Koto, Neserdnia, Bayangor, Galcrest, Pittsford and Ingvarr. Alone in its Wiki page, these are just simple names, but due to the growing fandom that is 'Varian and the Seven Kingdoms', I figured it would be prudent if I started attaching names to them.
Each kingdom embodies a certain element and a certain stage of Alchemy. All seven kingdoms probably have a distinct history with alchemy, which might be the reason why they also adhere to certain stages of it. The practice and study of alchemy may be dwindling, but the experience of it has not.
But I won't be covering the alchemy aspect of this, I just figured it was a good fact for you to recall. Instead, I looked into the origins of each kingdom's name and decided its specific element according to the facts I found.
Corona -- Light
Tumblr media
Corona is in possession of the Sundrop and their whole motif circles around the sun. The citizens are bright, happy, and cheerful, and have the annual tradition of lighting the night sky using lanterns.
Also, corona can be defined as the gaseous envelope of the sun and other stars, which is probably the reason they're closely associated with the Light element.
Koto -- Fire
Tumblr media
Koto is the Japanese word for thing. From the notes about the seven kingdoms, the Fire kingdom also has some Asian type of influence, despite being more Chinese than Japanese. Because of these  associations, I've chosen Koto to be the Fire kingdom. And don't forget about the firework traditions, because those are definitely a thing.
Neserdnia -- Water
Tumblr media
Neserdni is a Bulgarian word meaning "not hearty". Bulgaria is a country that has multiple water resources, including being surrounded by water and having various rivers crossing through its land. Thus, Neserdnia is the Water kingdom.
Bayangor -- Dark
Tumblr media
It was actually a little difficult pinning this country down. Bayangor has a word that relates to the Indonesian language, and Indonesia itself is filled with bustling industry. It would have been a perfect fit for the Industry 'element' except: bayang means shadow. I went for that connection instead.
Galcrest -- Earth
Tumblr media
If Bayangor was difficult to pin down, then Galcrest was even harder. For one thing, there was no language that closely matched up with Galcrest during my initial research for it. So I got the closest variation of it, which was Gilcrest. Gilcrest is a town in Colorado with a history that detailed the use of the land's natural raw resources to contribute to its wealth and prosperity. That was the primary reason I pegged it down as the Earth kingdom.
But due to more recent research, I found that galcr meant calories in Welsh and proceeded to figure out which country it came from. Welsh is a minor language from Wales, a country that is known for its mountainous peaks and several hiking trails. It seemed almost appropriate.
Pittsford -- Industry
Tumblr media
Now, Pittsford, I couldn't place. I did the same thing I did for Galcrest and found a town with the same name in New York. Pittsford, New York is a town that is well received by its residents. New York itself is a city with a LOT of industrial settlements, businesses, and other such objects around it. That's why I made it the Industry kingdom.
Ingvarr -- Air
Tumblr media
Ingvarr was refreshingly simple to research. While the word itself does not mean anything, it's Swedish in nature. I looked up Sweden and found that it was very popular due to its wonderful vantage points of the Northern Lights. If you recall, the Air kingdom is known for its astrological/astronomical advancements. I figured the Northern Lights would be a perfect fit for this category.

Tangled Headcanon: Mandate of the Heavens
Largely for use in my own stories, but I don’t mind sharing it here...
Basically the idea is that the major faith in the world of Tangled is the Mandate of the Heavens, an interpretation of different heavenly bodies as divine figures. Some are associated with specific trades, others with larger concepts like creation and destruction and history, some have a more local significance. There’s no sense of historical overview or cosmogony, except where the followers of the Mandate faced persecution by (and rebellion from) followers of older faiths; as far as the Faith is concerned, the Heavens have always been there, and anything else is just a matter of looking. This would be the faith practiced in Corona, where for obvious reasons the Sun is most prominent, but similar chapels and cathedrals are found across the Seven Kingdoms and their allies.

word count: 2001
description: Rapunzel is pregnant, and Nigel thinks that she needs to give her child an arranged marriage. She and Eugene strongly disagree.
Nigel had been droning on about customs regarding the newest addition to the Royal Family for almost an hour now, and Eugene felt like he was about to fall asleep. Their baby still had at least 6 months until she was even born, yet apparently, they still had so much to figure out.
“Captain, are you even listening?” Nigel asked, narrowing his eyes.
“Yeah, yeah, royal customs, baby things,” he said, bored out of his mind.
“What he means to say,” Rapunzel cut in before Nigel could answer, “is that we have months before the baby is due, couldn’t we spread this planning over time?”
“We are spreading it over time, Your Majesty. This child will be the heir to the throne, there are lots of preparations to make before she’s born.”
Eugene held back a groan as Nigel pulled out a long scroll. “We can finish for today once you make a decision on who to promise the child to.”
“‘Promise?’” Rapunzel repeated. “What does that mean?”
“It means to give her an arranged marriage.”
“That’s dumb as hell,” Eugene said.
“Eugene!” Rapunzel scolded, though she didn’t disagree with him.
“Sorry. Respectfully, that’s dumb as hell, Sir.”
“It’s tradition! Future Kings and Queens should be promised to other royalty,” Nigel said tritely.
“I don’t want to do that to our child! What if I had been promised to someone, then where would we be now?” Rapunzel argued.
Nigel frowned. “Your Majesty, you were promised to someone.”
“What?” Eugene and Rapunzel said at the same time.
Nigel nodded. “As I said, it is all future rulers. Your marriage just fell through when you were… ahem, taken.”
“So what happened to who she was promised to?” Eugene asked.
“I assume he was given a new Princess,” Nigel shrugged.
Eugene frowned at the idea that Princesses were something you could just give away. It made them sound like some kind of cattle rather than human people. That didn’t sit right with him, especially concerning his wife and future daughter.
“Well, I appreciate the concern, Nigel, but we won’t be ‘promising’ our daughter to anyone,” Eugene declared, crossing his arms.
“But you have to! It’s tradition.”
“There’s no law stating it,” Rapunzel pointed out. “If it’s just ‘tradition,’ I think we’re gonna pass.”
Nigel tightened his grip on the scroll. “Your Majesty, I would strongly urge you to comply with the traditions of the Kingdom. There’s no use changing it if it’s worked well enough so far.”
“But it hasn’t! We wouldn’t even have this baby if I had been forced to marry someone else,” she said.
Nigel sighed. “We’ll come back to this issue at another time,” he said as he exited the room. Rapunzel turned to her husband.
“I’m not promising this child to anyone.”
“I agree with you, Sunshine. And I’m sure we can get Nigel on our side eventually, or at least wear him down ‘til he gives up.”
“Ugh, imagine if that marriage didn’t fall through. What if I had come home just to be told I had to marry someone else?”
“Honestly, sweetheart, I don’t think that could’ve happened, only because you would have raised hell the second they told you.”
“Hey, I just know what I want!” she defended.
“Well, I guess I’m just lucky enough to be what you want,” he said, kissing her cheek. “So who do you think you were promised to?”
She shrugged. “I guess it could be any of the princes or kings.”
“Like King Trevor!”
Her jaw dropped. “Trevor?”
Eugene had a cheeky grin on his face as he responded, “You never know! Maybe that’s why he never leaves us alone!”
“Or maybe it’s because you’ve broken into his castle twice,” she said. “Plus, we did technically crash Trevor Jr.’s wedding.”
“Blondie, that was a seal wedding. If anything, we made it more interesting.”
“Well, I doubt it’s Trevor. He was in love with my mom, remember?”
“All the more reason to try to marry you!”
Rapunzel smiled and rolled her eyes. “I guess it doesn’t matter who it is, since I’m clearly not going to marry them.”
“Come on, aren’t you at least a little curious?”
She sighed. “Yeah, I kind of am now,” she admitted. “I bet my parents would know, we should ask!”
So, at dinner later that day, they brought up the subject of the arranged marriage again. “Nigel thinks that we should promise our child to some random Prince, which I think is a little crazy,” Rapunzel recounted. “But he told me I was also promised to some random Prince.”
“The tradition of promising the future rulers is long-standing, but if you think breaking it is what is best for your family, by all means, break it,” Frederic said.
Arianna smiled. “I was pretty reluctant about arranging a marriage when I had you, I’m glad you’re standing up against it.”
“Do you know who my marriage was arranged with?” Rapunzel asked. Her mom thought for a moment, then shook her head.
“I believe we made the agreement long before you were born. After everything we went through with my pregnancy, I hardly remembered by the time I had you.”
“Was it Trevor?” Eugene asked jokingly. Arianna choked on the food in her mouth before laughing.
“Oh, dear, I hope not!”
Rapunzel giggled, placing a hand on her stomach. Looking at the way her family so easily cared for each other, she couldn’t help but feel excited about their new edition. Their daughter would be loved and cared for, no matter what happened. Rapunzel was ready to do everything she could to give her daughter a happy life, starting with making sure she wasn’t married off without a say in the matter. It was the least she could do.
Over the next few weeks, Nigel would occasionally bring up the matter of arranging a marriage, only to be immediately shot down every time. No one was surprised by his insistence in the matter, though. He was always concerned with upholding the traditions of the kingdom, even if the traditions were outdated and, as Eugene so gracefully put it, dumb as hell.
They finally got a break from all the preparations when they went to visit the Dark Kingdom. Ever since Edmund had left to restore the kingdom, Rapunzel and Eugene did their best to visit at least once every other month to stay connected with him.
Edmund was elated to see them as always. He walked over to them with a grin on his face and wrapped his arm around Rapunzel’s shoulder. “It’s great to see you two! Or should I say, you three?”
She laughed, placing a hand on her stomach. This was the first visit to the Dark Kingdom since they found out about the pregnancy, but Eugene had told his dad everything in a letter. Needless to say, Edmund was beyond excited to be a grandfather.
“Yep, one more Der Sonne on the way!” she beamed.
The three of them exchanged pleasantries, with Eugene and Rapunzel talking about the pregnancy, and Edmund talking about all the progress he had made in restoring the kingdom.
Edmund gave them a quick tour of all the changes he had made, but in all honesty, they couldn’t tell the difference. They had only been to the Dark Kingdom once before the restoration, so they didn’t notice things like new carpeting in a random room on the edge of the castle. Nonetheless, they nodded along as they listened to his descriptions.
“Oh, you two must be tired from your travels! Come with me, we’ll sit for dinner!” he said, leading them to the dining room. “Plus she’s pregnant, she must be tired enough as it is!” he added to himself. He had gotten better at keeping his thoughts to himself, but he still slipped up sometimes. Rapunzel just giggled lightly, shooting Eugene an amused glance.
“So, have you two been swamped with planning for a royal baby?” Edmund asked.
Eugene snorted. “Definitely, I’m getting sick of all this work that comes with it.”
“It was the same way when your mother was pregnant with you. There was so much paperwork for just one child. And none of the paperwork even mattered after the kingdom fell!” he added exasperatedly.
Rapunzel’s eyes widened excitedly. “You had to do the paperwork for Eugene? Did you promise him to someone?” she asked. Edmund nodded, and a smile grew on Rapunzel’s face. “Who was it?”
“Seriously?” Eugene groaned.
“Hey, we don’t know mine, so I at least want to know yours!”
“Sorry, Rapunzel, I don’t know off the top of my head. I might still have the documents in storage, though,” Edmund answered.
After some convincing, Rapunzel dragged her husband to a storage room so they could sift through old Dark Kingdom documents to find his birth records. There were cabinets and boxes full of various documents, each one starting to rip or fade.
Eugene was quickly scanning papers for information, but Rapunzel was reading as in-depth as she could into each document. “It’s so cool! There’s so much to learn about the history and the culture of the Dark Kingdom in these documents!” she said.
“Wow,” he replied. “I can’t believe I married a nerd.”
Rapunzel giggled and nudged him lightly, going back to her dive through all the documents. About 20 minutes later, she was halfway through a record of the trades between the Dark Kingdom and Neserdnia when Eugene spoke up.
“Hey, I think I found them!” he announced.
“Oo, what does it say?”
His eyes flitted over the page, then a huge smile grew on his face as he looked back up at her. “Wow, Blondie, it looks like you have some competition.”
“What?”
“I mean, the girl I was promised to is a real catch, you might have to look out,” he said teasingly, handing her the documents. She raised an eyebrow as she took them, reading through the page. She couldn’t help but smile as well when she saw what was written on the page.
Prince Horace of the Dark Kingdom is to be married to the first born Princess of Corona.
“Look at that! I guess we were destined to be together after all!” she beamed.
“Or just a really lucky coincidence,” he responded.
“Come on, there was some kind of fate working on our side!”
“Let’s not give Max that much credit.”
“Fate or not, we still found each other after all,” she said, grabbing his hand. He smiled and kissed her forehead.
“And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The two of them spent the rest of the night trying to come up with ways that their lives could have gone differently, but still finding each other every single time. They knew there were so many small coincidences that led to them meeting and falling in love, but even if all the moving parts weren’t there, they would still fall in love. That’s the thing about soulmates- they’ll always find their way to each other.
“The ruggedly handsome Flynn Rider would easily woo the beautiful and mysterious Princess Rapunzel!” Eugene laughed. Rapunzel scoffed.
“Maybe Princess Rapunzel would think Rider was an arrogant thief,” she teased lightly.
“Maybe, but then she would realize deep down, he’s just a rogue with a heart of gold,” he said.
She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder. “Yeah, she would. And they would fall in love despite everything.”
“And live happily ever after.”
Maybe it wasn’t “fate” or “destiny” or “soulmates,” but no matter what, the universe was on their side. Or maybe it was all just luck. They’ll never really know for sure if any magical forces were at work to bring the two of them together.
In the end, it didn’t matter how they met. What mattered was that they loved each other more than anything, and they would make sure their child would feel that same love. That’s all the “destiny” they needed.

And here is version 3 of my headcanon world for «Tangled: the series»
Tumblr media
Now with the Spire Vault;
Neserdnia has a internacional exotic market and is the comercial hub with south and east;
Ingvarr with a giant open-pit iron mine. (And they hold the strongest comercial relationship with Gallienoir -Hugo's headcanon home kingdom- in equal exchange for coal and iron);
The Lombards Pass finaly has it name;
Corona now has his own canonical castle.

Does anyone know any good sites or articles that have a deep insight into North African, East Asian, Grecian, Persian, Inuit, and Polynesian culture? I need them for Seven Kingdoms research

I love your saporian!cass but I was turning events over in my head with that added element and mind, and it makes Cass turning down Ingvarr to stay on as a servant for Rapunzel even MORE depressing, because aside from turning down an exciting career opportunity she’s also turning down a life in a country that is possibly free from anti-Saporian bigotry and the visible effects of colonialism and cultural genocide. So...(gulp), yikes!
😔
tbh i’m not sold on ingvarr being .. much better than corona in this regard because. well first of all the 7K alliance also includes neserdnia, which is an empire, so that’s at least two ingvarran allies with a canonical history of imperialism. and then second of all ingvarr is a military power which begs the question of where and why they’re using that army. ingvarr didn’t conquer saporia but they are allied with the kingdom that did + insofar as there’s enough information to make any kind of guess at what sort of country ingvarr is, there are at least a couple points in favor of reading ingvarr as also imperialist to a greater or lesser degree. birds of a feather, you know?
i always kinda imagine cass building up ingvarr as this perfect paradise for her in her head (somewhere she can do what she loves and be recognized and admired for it! where none of her problems exist anymore!) and then if she actually went there becoming very disillusioned because it… isn’t like that, it’s a country with as messy a history and as many systemic problems as corona even if the details are different. no matter how you slice it it’s all very sad 😭

I figured out how Eugene acts at diplomatic events.
Part of this scene came to me in a dream last night and I couldn’t rest until I wrote it.
This oneshot has unfortunately contracted a Plot, but let’s be honest I’m never going to finish it.
Karina is a name I came up with for the Queen of Ingvarr. As far as I know she’s never canonically named, so.
Now with parts 2 & 3 in the form of ridiculously specific memes
“The Seven Kingdoms being, as we are, a coalition invested in the safety and prosperity of both our own sovereign lands and our neighbors’,” Queen Karina of Ingvarr said, “King Trevor of Equis, a sponsored junior state, has called into question Corona’s right to hold the title.”
“What are you all, morons?” the Griffin of Pittsford demanded, nearly vibrating out of his seat in his sudden rage. “If Corona is expelled from the Seven Kingdoms, Pittsford goes too! See how you like a Seven Kingdoms with only five kingdoms!”
Karina looked at the Griffin like she might look at a particularly obnoxious fruit fly. “Griffin, if Corona or Pittsford leave the Seven Kingdoms for any reason, their membership will be passed to other deserving nations.”
Beside Rapunzel, Lance leaned toward Eugene. “Haha, and would Equis be in the running, by any chance?”
Rapunzel, without waiting for anyone to change the subject, shot her hand up into the air. “Excuse me, Your Majesty, pardon the interruption, but the esteemed royal advisor to Corona’s crown, Mr. Lance Strongbow, has a question.”
Across the room from her, the Duke of Koto leapt to his feet. “Objection!” he thundered. “Koto tolerates the presence of these… these criminals in this hall, but to hear them lambasting the good name of respected kingdoms --”
“Objection not sustained,” Karina interrupted. “Princess Rapunzel, please relate your advisor’s question.”
Rapunzel smiled sweetly. “Oh, he was just wondering, if Corona was expelled from the Seven Kingdoms, would Equis, perhaps, be considered to take our place?”
Karina was a calm and collected woman, respected by all as someone with a level head who rarely engaged in disputes before first considering most alternatives, but right now her patience was visibly strained to the limit. “If Corona were to be removed from the Seven Kingdoms, her replacement would be chosen in council from among Eritol, Arendelle, and yes, Equis.”
“So --” Rapunzel’s smile widened as she pressed her advantage. “-- it could be argued that Equis brought their concerns regarding Corona’s handling of an internal dispute to this council to further their own political interests?”
The Prince of Bayangor raised his own hand, waiting for Karina to acknowledge him with a nod before speaking. “I would like to dispute Princess Rapunzel’s description of the incident as an internal matter. By her own admission, there was an ancient demon who expressed intention to destroy Corona and then take over the world?”
Rapunzel hesitated, unsure of how to proceed, but her father laid his hand over hers and smiled at her before speaking. “Records from the age of Demanitus are sparse and incomplete, but do seem to indicate that Zhan Tiri was once a citizen of Corona,” he said. “Unless anyone else would like to claim her?” There was a long moment of silence. Frederic continued, “A dispute between Coronan citizens on Coronan land remains an internal matter until it directly affects other countries. My advisor’s question stands.”
King Trevor stood, dramatically throwing a hand to his brow. “I did not come here to be attacked like this!” he declaimed. “My concern is only for the citizens of Equis and her neighboring kingdoms!”
“While we’re on this,” Eugene said, not bothering to raise his hand, “I have a question.”
“Objection!” the Duke of Koto bellowed.
“Objection not sustained,” Karina said through clenched teeth. “The Captain of Corona’s Royal Guard has a voice in matters relating to Corona’s military activities.”
Eugene smiled winningly. “Thank you!” His attention swung to Trevor, though he did not stop smiling. “Equis seems to have a lot of information about the Incident, as we’re apparently calling it, that Corona has not yet made public, which is funny, because I checked our records and we were not hosting any guests from Equis at the time. So tell the honored council, please, how exactly you came by this information.”
Karina shifted. “Captain Fitzherbert,” she said. “Are you insinuating that King Trevor of Equis is spying on Corona?”
“Yes!” Eugene said. “I’m sorry, was that not obvious?”
“I will not stand here and be accused by this thief!” Trevor shouted, throwing his hand to his brow again.
“I trust you have evidence?” Karina asked.
Eugene turned his grin back to her. “I’m glad you asked!” he said, producing a scroll from seemingly nowhere as he stood. He approached the raised table where Karina sat and proffered the scroll with an exaggerated bow. The Queen of Ingvarr took it and broke the seal, beginning to unroll it.
“He has nothing on me, nothing, I tell you!” Trevor insisted.
The scroll rolled off the table and across the floor, finally coming to a halt at roughly eight feet of thin parchment covered in small hand-done printing.
“Don’t be intimidated by the length,” Eugene said, leaning on the table and pointing to a line on the scroll. “I’ve marked the highlights in red ink.”
Karina skimmed the scroll, her eyebrows rising higher and higher on her forehead as she did so. “Spy seals?” she asked, looking up.
Trevor gasped. “The Secret Sealers! How could you possibly have found out about my top-secret spy organization?”
“I assume you’re not aware of this,” Eugene said, “but wild seals don’t typically follow people into their bedrooms.” Rapunzel and Lance hid giggles behind their hands.
The Duke of Koto leapt to his feet again. “This is all fascinating,” he growled, “and will be taken into consideration when and if Equis is considered for membership in the Seven Kingdoms, but can we please get back to the point of this council, which is the fact that Corona almost allowed an ancient demon to take over the world?”
Nodding, from most representatives present. Karina began to roll up the scroll again. “What steps has Corona taken to ensure that it will not happen again?” she asked Frederic.
“Well, thanks to my daughter, the source of Zhan Tiri’s power is no longer on the planet,” Frederic pointed out.
“Neither is Zhan Tiri,” Lance added in a low voice.
Karina glanced around. “Ingvarr is satisfied with Corona’s handling of the incident,” she said.
“Pittsford is satisfied with Corona’s handling of the incident,” the Griffin huffed.
The Duke of Koto stood. “Koto is satisfied with Corona’s handling of the incident, but would once again like to put forth a proposal requiring the surrender of the convicted criminals Lance Strongbow and Flynn Rider to face justice for their crimes.”
A long, awkward silence hovered over the room. “No one is going to second your proposal, Duke,” the representative from Galcrest finally said. “Please stop asking. Galcrest is tentatively satisfied with Corona’s handling of the incident, but would like to request a day-long recess to discuss it.”
The Prince of Bayangor stood. “Bayangor will be satisfied with Corona’s handling of the incident provided they relate in detail the circumstances that led to such an incident.”
The Queen of Neserdnia stood as well. “Neserdnia seconds the proposition put forward by the Prince of Bayangor. We have a right to know how things became so serious.”
“Of course,” Frederic said, inclining his head.
Lance leaned toward the king. “Are you sure that’s such a good idea? I mean, if we’re going with ‘it was an internal matter...’”
“We have nothing to hide,” Frederic responded, equally quietly. “Bayangor and Neserdnia always want details incidents, but rarely deviate from the will of the rest of the Kingdoms. And I think our Captain has thoroughly discredited anything Trevor may bring against us.”
Trevor was fuming. This wasn’t the outcome he had hoped for, that much was clear. To make matters worse, the scroll Eugene had produced was currently being read by the representative from Galcrest, whose eyebrows were climbing even higher than the Queen of Ingvarr’s had. “Invited Coronan nobility to Equis and locked them in the library for four days?” she said faintly.
Trevor pounded on his table. “You can’t prove anything!” he shouted, pointing at Eugene, who was leaning against Karina’s table with his arms smugly crossed.
“Oh yes I can,” Eugene said. “Because while I was in there, I rearranged all your periodicals.”
