Genuine question: Does the lack of direct threat from Izzy in the 1x10 cabin confrontation register as a really weird / noticeable tone shift for everybody or is it just me?

Like, a major part of why I feel like doing a double take every time people write meta like that was a real threat of going after Edward is because I would expect him to say that more directly. Maybe it's just my preferred media background, but I expect "Do this or I'm going to kill you" to be stated pretty similarly to that, and having Izzy (who has said stuff like that before) suddenly switch to vague "Watch your step" while alone with Edward and really pissed feels like stepping into a kids show that can't say the word die. I can't actually be expected to think he means that as a serious threat, can I? Why would he suddenly decide to be roundabout with triple layered implication? Especially if this is so important to him?

This stands out to me to the point I literally wonder how many fans that take him seriously there are coming from children's / teen media fandoms where ominous implication IS a death threat equivalent.
