“‘The Going to Bed Book’,” he told him, making an adorable little scrunchy face. “These animals are on like, a boat? For some reason? Maybe it’s a Noah’s Ark thing or something? But there’s only one of each? I don’t fucking know. That would be weird for Stan and Patty to have, so probably not. But they all take a bath together, which is fucking weird enough, and then! Then! Riiight before they go to bed? They exercise!? Like, they just got clean and put on pajamas and they’re jumping rope and shit! And then they’re expected to fall asleep? That’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard! It’s scientifically proven that exercise actually wakes you up!”

Richie tried, heroically, to hold in his laughter; they were meant to be calm and relaxed, to help Georgie fall asleep, but Eddie’s spirited rant was just about the opposite, and he didn’t want to add to it by being too loud himself.

“Oh my god, Eds,” he snorted, knowing his shoulders were shaking with his muted laughter, as Georgie wiggled a little in his arms. “You are fucking adorable, man.”

Eddie blinked up at him, eyes wide in surprise.

Kay's comments: Ah, I'm having a craving for hospital hurt/comfort stories recently and this one really scratched the itch! Featuring hospital volunteer Wei Wuxian and comatose Lan Wangji, who were teenage sweethearts until Wei Wuxian had to leave because of ~reasons~. Despite the premise of Lan Wangji being in a coma for 2 out of 3 chapters, this story is absolutely sweet and wonderful! There's also some Lan brothers feels in this and just Lan family feels in general!

Excerpt: “Do you know what my job here at the hospital is?” Xian-gege asks him. Sizhui shakes his head. “Well, if children are here, that’s because either they need to see a doctor, or they’re visiting someone,” Xian-gege says. “And hospitals can be scary, with how big they are, and how many people are here. So I am here to look after the children in the waiting rooms. I tell them stories or play with them, so they’re less scared. Would you like me to stay with you for a bit?” Sizhui gives it some thought. In the end, he nods. Xian-gege seems nice, and he thinks it’s better than to wait alone. “I have a book Baba often reads to me,” he tells Xian-gege in a quiet voice. “It’s also about a bunny.” Xian-gege smiles again. “Does your baba like bunnies? When I was younger, I used to have a friend who also really liked them. Would you like me to read to you from that book?”

I tend to not consider myself very active but I just came back from a 5 day hiking and camping roadtrip and the first thing I did today after getting home was take a 2 hour walk so actually I think I’m just so affraid of the gym.

#dylan says things #it was so fun #it was me and four people I play dnd with and we went to a couple national parks and camped and hiked a binch #then ended in Philly #I love the people I went with and I love hiking in national parks #plus my parents lived in Philly for a while so I went a few times as a kid #we went to Monks’ which was great #there was one terrible night where we were camping and there was a crazy thunderstorm #my computer which I brought to do work on ended up getting soaked #as did I (and I also got a nosebleed. it was freezing and my sleeping bag was really broken #but luckily that was the night before we went to Philly and stayed in the only hotel we stayed in on the trip #so it was actually pretty decent timing. made me really fucking appreciate the warm bed #but yeah we hiked all day and then we played dnd in the tent at night #it was the perfect trip #also I actually really like being in the car for a long time

i hate that i've been complaining about everything in my life lately but if you're a frequent reader of my personal posts (side note, if you are: why. also i'm sorry) but if you remember earlier this week on tuesday i slipped outside and hurt my knee. i didn't end up seeing a doctor about that bc they literally had no openings when i talked to the secretary she was like i am so sorry sweetie. we can't take you for the rest of the week and i was like oh. and after a couple days it didn't hurt sooooo much although i think the limp ive been walking w has not been doing me any favors. but now today especially (? for some reason) BOTH of my legs were really hurting. i'm wondering if that might somehow be related to me getting my period today bc sometimes. you know how period pain can just end up wherever it wants. but then around 8 o'clock today i stubbed the SHIT out of one of my toes and i think i might have injured it (? i dont think it's broken but i cant stand on it and it's been hours). this is my left foot and the knee i hurt on tuesday was on my right leg. i am literally limping on both sides of my body now and i cant stand or walk.
