I love the Starcake lore that is Starlo moving into Pancake's house. Slowly. Bit by bit.

This girl built her own house in the Wild East, with the help of others, and Starlo would soon drop by and chill. A long day patrolling, or going in early in hopes that he'd swipe a couple pancakes she's making, or losing track of time and he's sleeping over on her couch. Starlo really did make this place his house as much as Pancake did.

It wasn't until one night when Starlo was sleeping on the couch and Pancake came home early, looking at him snoozing so she put a blanket on him, that she realized. Hey. Hey he's been kinda living here rent free. And he's got his own place on the other side of town. This guy had been sleeping over at least three times a week, what's up with that?

They do talk about it, thankfully, but yeah he kinda unintentionally moved in XD

starlo would ramble and rant about u to ceroba but insist its a hatred thing (during the rivals part of ur relationship) (it is definitely not a hatred thing.)

OOOO YES ROTTEN STAR DYNAMICS!!! YEAAAASSSSSS!!!

Oh gosh this DEFINITELY happens!! It even happens unprompted, like the two of them sit at the saloon for a drink, Ceroba hoping it'd be a calm day, when Starlo immediately starts on a rant about how much he Does Not Like Rotten Jack. And she's all 'ohh boy, here we go again.'

A lot of the time he doesn't even realize his ranting, to Ceroba or the Four or anyone else, doesn't sound like he hates her. It sounds like he...ADMIRES her. And not just in a "I have respect for her" way, it sounds like someone in denial that he likes her! Like, LIKES HER likes her! How well she focuses, how strong she is, how intense that glare of hers is, that stupid nickname she called him that tooootally didn't make his insides flip and his soul skip a beat, ohhh he HAAATES it ALLL!!

It doesn't help that it sounds like they're flirting when they're fighting. Or that North Star seemed rather flustered when Rotten Jack pushed him against a wall. Or her her smirk when he pulls his gun on her and presses it against her throat.

It's all flirting, but it's the fronts playing with each other while the people themselves are freaking out on the inside. It's also why their relationship could only be flirting but nothing more when they were rivals, as fun as it was to fling those around like no ones business. They only knew the FRONTS, and not the people behind the masks.

Which is why I love the Rotten Star dynamic, it could have only gone so far. Both secretly yearning for the other, but only knowing the surface level, and it couldn't go further than that. It was also safer to flirt because the personas were easy to deal with, because they could brush it off. However, once the hat and bandana came off, it was a much different story. Out in the open, but finally able to PROGRESS with that relationship

Thinking about maybe rewriting how Starlo and Pancake met as a kind of "first contact" thing. North Star pacing around at night when he sees a massive monster-like being race across the sky as it falls, crashing into the ground

Starlo's nicknames for Pancake and why he calls her those:

Honey bee: Pancake loves bugs, so much she talks about bugs non-stop to him. He didn't really like bugs at first, until she came around and he ended up liking them. One of his favorites are honey bees, due to how cute they are and how much Pancake likes them. It's a cute, simple nickname and it fits her quite well

Wildflower: Starlo had at one point found a wild desert flower and picked it, placing it behind Pancake's ear and calling her "Wildflower." She got so flustered at the nickname that her face scrunched up with the cutest laugh he ever heard. From then on, he knows she's extra flustered when her nose scrunches

Darlin', Sugar, Sugar Cube: All typical nicknames, especially darlin'. They're more casual nicknames than anything else. Still, they're cute, and he loves watching Pancake melt when he calls her Sugar

Starshine and Stardust: He's a star, he has to have at LEAST one space-themed nickname!! To him, she is also a bright light in the Underground. Literally an alien crash landing to earth, in his eyes! He has a couple others he rarely uses, like comet, but he very much prefers Stardust snd Starshine.

I'm pretty sure I have a couple others but I forgot tiebdjdbs. But yeah, Starlo's nicknames for Pancake!!

I just realized that Pancake wouldn't have been able to see Starlo's hands for a very long time, so now im thinking of a time when he first takes them off and HOOOOO

Back to Starcake posting, had an idea with Stars-

What if Starlo could glow in a UV way? Like a blacklight? Pancake gets a UV henna tattoo and just being around Starlo makes it glow.

But also, leaving kisses also leaves glowing marks (He's a star don't ask me how)

This also leads to a funny imagine where Cakes, Ceroba, and the Feisty Four are stuck in a room together, and when it gets dark something starts glowing. They look over and ask, "Pancake, have you and Star been making out?" And there's Pancake, covered in LOTS of glowing marks, from her forehead to cheeks to nose to ears to neck [one side is more bright than the other] and even her hands are glowing. And she goes, "no, why?"

Just. Star kisses,,,,,
