What if...Kang kidnapped Kamala Khan?
Tumblr media
(SPOILERS FOR ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA)
So after watching Quantumania and thinking of the possibilities of where Kang could show up next, I came up an idea that would work well in a What If…? Episode.
So my idea around a What If…? for Kang revolves around two things:
1: Kamala Kahn/Ms. Marvel time traveling back to the night of the partition to save her grandmother Sana as a child during the Partition.
2: Kang’s multiversal ship having neurokinetic capabilities, including storing all of his memories and past events inside of it.
From there, I pitch you my idea:
[In this universe, when Kamala Khan travels back in time to the night of the Partition, instead of immediately traveling back to the present, her Bangle locks onto an energy signature in the Quantum Realm (Kang’s Ship) as Kang during this time tried to experiment different ways to escape with the help of Darren Cross/M.O.D.O.K.
Because of this, Kamala instead gets transported into the Quantum Realm, and because of the colliding energies from the ship and the Bangle, Kamala’s arrival causes her memory to be locked inside the ship, giving her memory loss.
This, while shocking to Kang, does provide him with a both means to escape and to ascend in power. So now he’s able to convince the now amnesiac Kamala into joining his side, training her to be a more ruthless and hardened version of herself aptly named…Kamala Kang.
Now, after amassing their forces, they use the Bangle to escape from the Quantum Realm and into their main universe with only one goal in mind: to conquer.]
I know it’s a bit of a stretch here and there, but I do think it would be quite an interesting idea to help tie What If…? Seasons 2 & 3 into the grander future of the Multiverse Saga. Plus, seeing a villain like Kang turn Kamala Khan into a darker version of herself would be intriguing twist on the hero-protege trend of recent MCU projects.
IDK, let me know what you guys think! Hope you like it!

2. Terrible taste in men
3. Finger guns
4. Flannel
5. Gen Z
I have been queer baited and will accept no counter arguments

The Marvels is a lot of fun even though it is low stakes & does not totally make sense. It' a quick movie and worth a watch for the comedic relief from Kamala Kahn.
Spoilers for the Marvels below
This film was 100000 times better than Quantum Mania and infinity times better than Secret Invasion, which I think we can all agree never needed to happen and did absolutely nothing to set up the Marvels---literally! Fury and Carol have still done nothing and failed the Skrulls.
Kamala Kahn (Iman Vellani) carried the humor in this ride and it was well worth the watch for her. I'm glad I saw it. There was lots of funny parts but for the most part the overall plot did not come through or make any sense--but you know what that's totally fine! I'm just in it for fun and it did make me remember that Nick Fury and superhero movies are supposed to be fun--or can be fun! Who cares if it's low stakes or doesn't totally come together--did it make you laugh? Did the actors do a good job? Did you leave excited for what comes next? For me yes to all three.
The most exciting and fun parts were really from the B-Story or from Kamala Kahn and her family. The dancing/singing planet story was silly but Kamala carried that scene for me too! And there def needed to be more reunion of Monica/Carol but I was happy to see more Maria Rambeau!!! Also did anyone else think Dar-benn meant a son and not the physical sun in the sky lmao.
It's also not clear how, or why, or if at all Secret Invasion folds into it. Even the skrulls themsleves are pretty irrelevant to the plot of the Marvels--in fact what happened to them is unclear/awful and largely un-adressed as well as what is happening to skrulls on earth! Also it was a good reminder that Nick Fury aside from Secret Invasion is actually quite fun? It was infuriating to see him care more unnamed crew members and returning them to earth than him caring about Maria or Talos his two besties? I DON'T KNOW. I am going to assume this show is not cannon based on how it wasn't referenced or acknowledged at all. Also no mention of Varra, and for someone who left a huge mess on earth, Fury seemed pretty good overall...
Also, so now there's also countless Flerken on earth? Are you telling me over 30 years Fury never investigated Flerken eggs? I DON'T KNOW. Was it funny? Yes and it was a good time but it just made me sad that Talos & Maria Hill got the shaft from this mostly feel good movie (minus the fact the skrulls are still without and once again ignored) It kind of makes me think they made a 212 million dollar show just off Talos and Maria because there was no other explanation for their absence in the film.
One thing I loved at the end was the Winter Soldier call back when Kamala showed up to surprise Kate! Kamala is just a delight. But you know who would have been the best person ever to lead a team of young (mostly female) Avengers.......... MARIA HILL!!! Imagine Maria Hill leading Yelana, Kate, and Kamala? Plus she & Kamala would be great. Kamala is the perfect person for Maria to work with too because she's cute and funny and Maria can be the serious one. UGH MARVEL. I HATE THE OPPORTUNITIES YOU MISS.
thoughts? agree/disagree? Was this my favorite marvel movie ever? no! was it the best one ever made? no, but it's definitely not worth the hate it's getting that's for sure!
Also do wish they used the intergalactic remix more.

Absolutely obsessed with Bruno’s relationship with Kamala’s parents so far. It makes me wanna cry her mom calling him beta, giving him food when he can’t stay for dinner, and her dad being so pleased with the little Alexa he made him??? I am sent I would die for that little family.

Watching a movie where a genocidal settler colony destroys entire peoples for spite and resources was like a super fun escape from reality (/s). And then you remember the Pakistani partition that played a LARGE role in the diaspora of a main character. And you're like, hunh maybe the genocidal people ARE the bad guys in the real world too, even if some of the reasons they are *like* that comes from a collective trauma.
And then when we drill down further, maybe imperialism is bad? Idk I just watched a comic book movie that has no relation to our current political climate.

Iman Vellani is so real this and I completely agree that the MCU is Earth 199999 and the main comics universe is always Earth 616
