I couldn't stop myself from drawing up just the neighbors; I sprinted the whole nine yards for over a month! XD It was worth it though; I even pixelated plant life for the first time, and they came out pretty well! >u<

Today birding was worth it because...

...What I thought would be another slow August day soon came to life when I saw a blackbird, and then a chiffchaff, and then a blackcap, and then I heard a robin, and all of a sudden I was surrounded by a flock of blue tits and great tits, and there was a marsh tit (!) too, and then two nuthatches joined, and a great spotted woodpecker, and a European pied flycatcher... I didn't move, but they were everywhere, and my demotivation disappeared, and all the feared quietness turned into magic. ✨

Something that's bugged me since the first time I watched it is how an entire group of kids hear about a guy, who is literally 5 feet away from them, being able to turn into a bird and nobody asking to see it

Because to the colonists, they were the same ‘cardinal red’ as the robes of the cardinals in the Roman Catholic church. this is not the exact one I watched but I saw one of these "dish scape" things at someone's house who actually has TV (like they pay for dish/cable instead of just watching stuff online) and I think they're meant to be relaxing atmospheric stuff that you mostly ignore, but I sat there for 35 minutes watching absolutely engrossed.. further proof that I genuinely think my brain is incapable of experiencing boredom lol..

#IT'S BECAUSE there's so many little details that like you can spend minutes just scanning every corner of the image and taking it all in and #you keep finding new things! like 'oh I didn't know that blade of grass moved!' or 'I didnt see that bucket before!'. And then on top of #so many details - some things genuinely do change. The one I saw was a Beach house scene and sometimes a bird would fly by or ONE TIME kite #came out of nowhere. a sandcastle built and unbuilt itself. there's a firepit and it comes on when the sky changes from day to afternoon!! #this is like watching a sports game to me. I need weird detail oriented friends who will sit for 20 minutes staring at a barely moving pict #ure & cheer and clap with me when a seagull flies across the screen ghgj.. THERE HE IS!!!! etc!! and there's just so much to think about!! #Like how the images are layered or animated and the choices that were made (like I think the sunrise and sunset sky background images for t #e beachouse are just the same picture flipped and recolored) and trying to predict what's going to happen next (will the lights in the hous #turn off for night time? will another bird show up??) etc! I even got up at one point to walk close to the screen and get a better view of #hese paintings that were visible through the beachhouse windows. and then thinking about building a similar home in the sims! OR ALSO THIS #WOULD BE SUCH A COOL medium I think to tell a story! Like you upload a video to youtube that is framed just as a completely average moving #screensaver ambiance type of thing. It's like 7 hours long and mostly loops the same still image. However. over time at certain points you #can see some thing happen like watching characters interact through the windows. animals or people walk across the screen. certain elements #in the environment morph or change. etc. In such a way that an entire like plot is conveyed. maybe like fantasy mystery sort of thing. I WI #SH I could do this style of art / had friends who could or had money to pay somebody to. I would LOVE to collaborate on a weird surreal #It's Just Your Average Slowly Looping Moving Screensaver Video I Promise' type story.. jjhhgHH.. Okay, I have to assume that most other people missed that the Collector wasn’t demanding pizza bagels for himself, but instructing Odalia to make pizza bagels for the Owl Beast. Because I cannot be the only person who is way too amused by the mental image of King or Lilith curtly accepting “kiddy”/junk food meal service from Odalia. The insult upon injury for poor Eda and Lilith that the only hot meals they get are like, pizza bagels and dinosaur chicken nuggets and Happy Meals. Guys fucking hell im so upset but I really can’t be mad at my cat

Okay so there were these eggs I found in a nest RIGHT next to my house

I watched them hatch and got it all on video and I was so excited because I love seeing baby birds grow up and become adults, watching their mom care for them

But every day I just checked on them from a safe distance and watched them happily

I didn’t take more photos (which I regret so much you’ll see in a moment)

But then I notice my cat taking interest in the tree

He was tied up though so I tried not to think too much of it and always made him not go near the trees

But I guess he manages to get himself loose by going in a circle around this bush, to tug free of his leash and collar

And ate the baby birds

I know it was him, there wasn’t no way he didn’t eat them. There’s no way he didn’t coincidentally get himself free and didn’t eat them. The nest was tilted

And I tell you I fucking almost cried and sobbed at the moment

Because I was so dumb and didn’t bother to think what could’ve happened to those little birds and I could’ve prevented it

Idk if it’s just nature playing with me or shit but I can’t imagine how the mom feels to just come to an empty nest

The Lord is worsening, and I have barred all but myself and the maid from entering his sleeping quarters. His wife was in great distress, of course, but as I do not regularly interact with people outside of the sick, I was not sure I could console her. I left the job to her handmaiden.

To tell the truth, he may not survive, and that is a fact that saddens me greatly. But he is already far too gone- in fact, he is sleeping right now, and I have closed his blinds to stop light from entering.
