[ID: A digital comic in two images of Samama Khalid and Celia Ripley from The Magnus Protocol on a gray background. Sam is a fat South Asian man with short, curly black hair, and a mustache and small goatee, and he is wearing a turtleneck, a cardigan, black nail polish and small black earrings. Celia is a slim Korean woman with short black hair, and she is wearing a button down shirt, a vest, rectangular glasses, an x-shaped earring, an industrial piercing, and snakebite studs. Sam is colored in solid red, and Celia is colored in solid green.
The first image is three drawings of Sam. The first is of him looking up pleadingly with his hands clasped and his eyes large and sparkly with sparkles around his head saying "Ahem, please?" The second is him holding up two tickets and smiling, saying "Ta-da! These incredibly exclusive, hardly-discounted, barely obstructed theatre tickets?" The last is him holding up the tickets to himself to read them and saying "I don't really know much about it, I just thought-" His eyes are drawn as dots in the last one.
The second image is of Celia smiling down at him with half-lidded eyes and an amused and slightly scheming smile. She is blushing lightly with a thought bubble next to her with partially blocked out text reading "I need to (blank) him and (blank blank) him until he (blank)". The censored parts also contain pink hearts on the black censor bars. end ID]

The Five and Klaus interactions were amazing this season. It made me so happy. Klaus whining ‘no Five don’t leave’ Five responding ‘No Klaus, I’m leaving’, Five giving the karaoke mic to Klaus and choosing him for the duet, sitting at the bar and talking over each other about their recent, respective experiences. They were just always ready to talk and/or listen to each other. And the best example of that was that road trip, which was one of my favorite parts of the whole season.
I mean aside from ‘We’re gonna crash!’ ‘I don’t care! No twine no birth mother!’ which was fucking gold, the moment where they’re at the ball of twine and they just take a moment to talk was so touching. Five asks Klaus about his birth mother. He’s genuinely interested in what he has to say and his reasoning behind the trip. And by the end of the conversation, Klaus tells Five he’s glad he came along and he’s a good brother. And he is. It was so nice to see Five finally be appreciated, and by his soft expression, he felt good about it too.
This season seemed to have less fight scenes for the sake of exploring what family truly is, and it started with that scene of Five and Klaus. They talk over each other a bit, but together they end with ‘What’s the point?’. Because they understand. They’re on the same page.
Also…this trip is when we see Five genuinely smile for the first time in a bit, so I just loved it so much. Klaus going ‘Love you too little dancer!’ also deserves an honorable mention. That whole scene just. Had me in my fucking feels.

I will say I fucking love how the central question of d20 neverafter is essentially just. what if there WAS a reason bad things happen to good people? what if all of this was actually a part of some larger cosmic plan and your suffering was another cog in its machine?? bc the more and more they ask this question, the more and more you realize that it wouldn’t be comforting, to have all of the terrible things in your life be some pre ordained stepping stones to a perfect, untouchable happy ending. it would be fucking horrifying.

The Crow and The Robin
"And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door; And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming."
“I’m man’s inedible
Permanent bird.
I dine in his garden,
My spoon is his spade.”
I find extremely interesting the association of Sebastian with crows/ravens and Ciel with robins, amongst the various meanings and interpretations we have of course death for crows and fire for robins. But what really captivates me is how both birds have a myth regarding how each got to be the colour they are today.
Ravens, once white, were scorched by Apollo, while Robins got their signature red chest by removing one thorn from Jesus's crown and stabbing themselves.
Divine Punishment and Self Inflicted Wounds.
Truly interesting...
