Foreword

These are character and stand concepts I had created to create a hypothetical JoJo’s fan comic under the working title “Metal Skin”. Upon creating what feels like a complete cast of main characters and a proper stand concept for all six, I’ve decided to share this online in hopes that someone will like this as much as I do. This will be broken into three parts. Characters, stands, and namesakes. Characters and stands are self explanatory, namesakes will be where I document not only the music references in the stands, but also the namesakes of the characters I have created. It is a lot of words, a lot of information, and therefore a lot of reading, I hope you consider reading as much as you can, despite this. Maybe my work will capture your attention for just long enough for one more entry.

Characters

Victor: Victor is the main character of Metal Skin. He’s a normal kid who got wrapped up in the manhunt for the villain of the story. The villain of the story is his father. He gained a stand when his mother was killed. His father impaled her with a stand arrow and the fever killed her. Victor is unaware that his mother is dead, and is also unaware that his father did it. His father is a serial killer who has always covered all his tracks very well. After also receiving the fever due to his blood ties to his mother, Victor pulled through the fever and gained the stand “Metal Fingers”. He wasn’t sure what Metal Fingers was, deciding to look for his father in hopes that his father can explain and/or help him. He started to look for his father and people that were also looking for his father started to follow him, hoping that this will get them to his father.

Epeita: The older of the Clymene twins, born on December 31st, 2026 at around midnight. Epeita was born with his stand, Endless. He’s the larger brother, however, he’s a coward who follows and listens to his brother endlessly. Epeita spends a lot of time worrying about his brother, always trying to please him, even if it means hurting himself and others. He is surprisingly tough compared to his brother, often not reacting to pain and just moving through it. The group notices this and questions why he’s such a coward. Epeita doesn’t understand the question and Ithas explains that when they were very young, Epeita developed slower than other children, learning to depend on Ithas. And in the time before Epeita grew larger and tougher, he was treated very poorly by most of the children and adults in their life and as Ithas was the only person to defend him, he learned to stand behind his brother and listen with open ears and prepared body.

Ithas: The younger of the Clymene twins. Born on January 1st, 2027, at around 1 am. Doing the labor for the twins killed their mother and Ithas blames himself. He was born with his stand, Nameless. Ithas is the smaller of the two twins, however, he’s the leader between the two. He’s smarter and tends to order his older brother around. He’s very aware of how far his brother would go to please him, seemingly aware of the abandonment issues his brother developed in adolescence. Ithas uses this to his advantage whenever necessary, he doesn’t like to see his brother hurt but he’ll tell his brother to be hurt before watching anyone else suffer pain. Ithas is also very selfless, the twins are 13 and despite that, Ithas is prepared to die and ask his brother to die to save anyone. The twins join the group as they had yet to meet any other stand users. They leave home as to learn more about the powers they’ve had since infancy. The group notices how Ithas and Epeita act and try to get them to act more like normal kids, Epeita receives it well and does it without question. Ithas struggles to let go of his self destructive tendencies.

Lara: Lara was born and raised on a small farm without much contact with people, her parents homeschooled her and, perhaps as a result of her lack of contact with people, she didn’t talk much. She’d speak scarcely and mostly just grunt and point at things, leaving her mother to figure out what she wanted. Her mother learned and taught Lara sign language, hoping that would allow Lara to communicate. Lara started using sign language to communicate with her mother and due to her upbringing, had developed a fear of people. One day, a person lost and without any way to find his way, made his way up to her family’s home. He knocked on the door and asked for help and her parents invited him in and helped him as much as they could. Upon receiving all the help he could need, he reached into his bag and began explaining to her parents what it was. Lara, hiding upstairs, listened and believed him. He explained it was something called a stand arrow. Her parents didn’t believe him and he said that he didn’t blame them and started to put the arrow away, accidentally cutting her mother on the arrow. He left after apologizing and offering to make it up to them. They rejected his offer and put a bandage on her cut. By sunrise the next day, she had died from a mysterious fever. Her father didn’t believe Lara when she explained how the tourist had killed her mother. Lara, whose spirit had been ignited by her mother’s murder, awoke a stand, named “Maneater”. She left home at 16 under the guise of studying outside of her boundaries and started to hunt for the tourist that killed her mother. Not long before the story starts, she manages to find information pointing her to Victor’s father, joining Victor after she threatens to kill him with her stand and he says that he’s looking for his father.

Odd Eyes: Odd Eyes was born a normal boy with a normal name. After he was born, his parents started to hate and neglect him, leaving him to fight to take himself out from under the weight of the world. Doing all this made him a combative, angry man. When he was around 20, he met a woman who showed him that he didn’t have to be angry. He changed for her, became a better person and they married before he was 22. By the time he was 24, he had a child. Not long after his 25th birthday, he met a man in a bar. They drank for a long while, Odd Eyes got much drunker than the other man. So drunk that when that man took him outside and showed him an arrow, explaining it was a “stand arrow”, Odd Eyes believed him and he let himself be cut. He went home that night, bandaged his hand, and woke up the next day with a slight fever. One day after that, he had awakened the stand “Odd Eyes” and he was ecstatic. The day after that, his daughter came down with the same fever. Two days later, she’s dead. Four days after he met a kind man while drinking, his daughter was dead. His wife didn’t believe him about “stands” but she still blamed him, perhaps she just knew something had happened. She left him, and he didn’t know what to do. His spirit, ignited once again and ready to fight, led him to abandon his name and hunt for the man who “gifted” him Odd Eyes. Going by the same name as his stand and quickly getting used to it, he encounters Lara half a year later, and they clash before realizing they have the same goal. Realizing they have the same goal, they join together and start to hunt down the man who killed the most important people in their lives.

Koutoa: Born as a happy baby to Irene Kujo and Narciso Anakiss, Koutoa Kujo was raised in a happy, healthy family home. There was only one odd thing about her life growing up, there was an outsider. Her grandfather had taken in an abandoned little boy, Emporio Alnino. Emporio Alnino obsessively researched something called Stands. Emporio seemed to have experienced something that traumatized him deeply. Koutoa, followed Emporio around every time they went to visit their grandparents. Asking over and over what Emporio is doing. Emporio keeps trying to distance himself from Koutoa. By the time Koutoa was 12 and Emporio was 33, Koutoa had stopped asking Emporio what he was doing. However, one day, Koutoa was sent to Emporio’s study to get him for dinner. Emporio, who had finally gotten his hand on a stand arrow, wasn’t paying much attention to Koutoa when they walked in. Koutoa approached Emporio from behind and startled him. He had been holding the arrow and when he dropped it, it fell off the desk and cut Koutoa on the leg. Emporio panics, cleans the wound, and insists that their family should stay there for the night. When Koutoa awakens with a fever, Emporio cares for them as much as he can and eventually, Koutoa comes out of it. And awakens a stand, “Jigsaw”. Emporio spends a while explaining stands and what he remembers. What he remembers is the entire events of part 6 and the original universe. This scares Koutoa and they also start to research stands and their source in the world. Upon hearing about Victor’s father, fearing that their mother will be cursed in this universe as well as the original, they start to look for him. Hoping to stop Victor’s father from ruining things.

Intermission 1:

What follows next is the stands I had assigned to these characters. For all the characters and all the stands, these are almost entirely first drafts, these are the very first iterations of these concepts. Therefore, if you have any questions about how a stand works, or what’s going on with a character, or anything, ask and I will do my best to answer in a timely manner.

Stands

Metal Fingers: The stand of Victor. Metal Fingers is primarily a defensive stand, using his arms and hands to defend, he absorbs the energy that would be used to attack him. If Metal Fingers, a stand who tends to be on the slower side, managed to use his hands to defend, he absorbs the energy and stores it. The energy is stored in his body for exactly 4 seconds, if he hasn’t used that energy, or used it, it is dispersed from his body and he returns to the weak body he has naturally.

Maneater: Lara’s stand. Maneater allows Lara to manipulate her own blood. Using Maneater, Lara can create weapons to be wielded in battle, for example, a large sword for the stand to wield in battle. Maneater has fairly standard defensive and offensive capabilities. The blood creations allow Maneater to boost her abilities. Lara can only use so much blood, if she uses too much, she passes out and the stand and creations disappear. Needing a few hours to recover before being able to fight again.

Jigsaw: Koutoa’s stand. Jigsaw is below average in every ability aside from speed. To circumvent this, Jigsaw will randomly select an attribute then choose if it will increase greatly, increase slightly, decrease slightly, or decrease greatly. Jigsaw will then fire an object the size of a tennis ball directly into the air. Whichever person catches the ball can decide which person will gain that effect, anyone in the fight, Jigsaw can count up to 7 people in a single fight. The effects wear off after 7 minutes.

Odd Eyes: The stand of Odd Eyes(duh, right?), Odd Eyes is incapable of creating a physical manifestation outside of the body of its host. It manifests in the user’s eyes. Allowing the user to change their eyes to function as any technological device. Able to chance to use night vision goggles, a camera, a projector, etc. Secondarily, it allows for the user to see different objects broken down as though they’re looking at a blueprint.

Endless: Epeita’s stand. Epeita has no physical manifestation, it lives in Epeita’s hands. Endless gives Epeita the ability to use stored calories to create objects. Epeita can freely alter the size, shape, and chemical composition of any object he creates. He can only instantly create items that would fit in the palm of his hand, any other object larger than that, he must create as though his hands are the nozzle on a 3d printer. Using Endless, Epeita can create bodies, devoid of mind and soul, but with everything else a body needs to live.

Nameless: Ithas’ stand. Using Nameless, a small and week stand a la Heaven’s Door, Ithas can project his mind into the body of other creatures, human or otherwise. If the body has a full, complete, and strong mind, Nameless becomes useless. Nameless can always be used otherwise. The stronger the mind, the weaker the projection, turning into suggestions often. However, if the body has no mind, or an extraordinarily weak mind, Ithas can fully control his target. Project himself onto corpses, weak minded people, and the soulless bodies that Epeita can create.

Intermission 2:

As we reach the third and final section, I’d like to thank you for reading this far, this is the first time I’ve ever created something with the intention of showing people, I thank you for reading this far and hopefully showing me your support.

Namesakes

Metal Fingers: One of two meanings behind the abbreviation “MF” in MF DOOM. Metal Fingers is for when DOOM is producing on a track, I figured a position with less fame would make sense for Victor. Victor is a noobie who doesn’t even want to fight, he’d rather be stuck in the background than front and center.

Victor: I got the name “Victor” from Victor von Doom a.k.a. Doctor Doom, the name sake for MF DOOM

Ithas: An alternate name for Prometheus, a twin Titan who represents foresight.

Epeita: The root word for Epimetheus, according to my very scarce research. The twin of Prometheus representing hindsight.

Endless: Epeita’s stand, named from the song Endless, Nameless by Nirvana. I gave Epeita specifically endless as a jab to Epithemeus in myth. Epithemeus in myth, was given the job to give a quality to all creatures on earth. Epithemeus, being the embodiment of hindsight, ran out right as he got to humans and Prometheus had to figure out an alternative. Giving us fire and the ability to stand upright, like the gods.

Nameless: The second half of Endless, Nameless by Nirvana. There is no reason that Ithas specifically received Nameless. It was simply the one left after Epeita was given Endless.

Lara: Named after Dea Tacita. A Roman goddess of the dead known as “The Silent Goddess”. Lara is a name that one very shady, unverified website had listed as an alternate name. So I took that and used it.

Maneater: Named after the song Maneater by Daryl Hall & John Oates. There is no clever reason for this name. I liked it.

Odd Eyes: Odd Eyes’ name is derived from Odysseus, the star of Homer’s The Odyssey. Odysseus was a clever man known among god and man alike as tricky as can be. However, during my reading of The Odyssey, I didn’t find Odysseus having any true, unique, godlike abilities that belonged to him outside of his mind. So, Odd Eyes’ name was derived from Odysseus as Odd Eyes is a normal human outside of his eyes, his one unique, powerful ability belonging to him.

Koutoa: Derived from Kotoamatsukami, the name of the first gods to come into existence in Japanese myth. Koutoa received this name as a family name, emphasizing the pressure that they feel to fix their family’s issues.

Jigsaw: Named after Jigsaw Fall Into Place by Radiohead. I chose the name Jigsaw due to the gimmick of the stand. The gimmick is an object flying upwards and falling. Falling “into place”, usually into the hands of a person.
