Yeah!! I think all of these characters are particularly stubborn in their own right, honestly? They all struggle with accepting things that fall outside of their personal worldviews. Akechi and Anthy think that true kindness can only result from ignorance and Akira and Utena both believe that they know what's best for the people around them even though they might have a hard time/just blatantly refuse to acknowledge the things that actually plague the people they care about. And you know, misprescribed medicine usually does more harm than good.

There’s a lot of little things like that sprinkled into Akechi’s Confidant. He smiles quite a bit, or laughs, and he uses a lot of detective/crime/mystery-based words, which I guess ties into the Detective Prince personality he has. It’s not as constant as one might think, though. In rank 4 he drops that act completely, and is completely candid and incredibly personal and vulnerable with Ren in ranks 5 and 6. He even comments about how this doesn’t fit his forced image as the Prince at all.

Personally I understand that the writers wanted to go a certain way with the plot but I really didn’t like how they did it.

I would have told the betrayal story in a completely different way. It felt... weird. Too unexpected. There was no previous warning and it feels like everything went from “I’m good!” to “I’m bad!” without a real explanation.

There are still lots of things that haven’t been explained properly (or at all) and overall I’m pretty confused about everything that happened.
