look at this godforsaken mess (that you made me)

“Uh, hi” Joel says awkwardly. He looks — older . Raff doesn’t know why it takes him by surprise but he wasn’t expecting Joel to have grown out of his baby face in spite of being closer to twenty-six now. The scruff fills his face in a way it didn’t at nineteen, frames it perfectly, and his hair is longer than Raff ever remembers him growing it out. He looks like a fucking adult, less goofy and more put together, less like he’s going to shake apart at someone saying the wrong word and not as angry as he used to be.

day two of the flyers' offseason: I've already lost my sanity. did I sit here and make a mock-up of the most highly anticipated album of 2021? yes. yes I did. I also had a lot of fun making the track-list, what are some of your favorites?
also some bonus tracks for fun:
and ps: to that anon and @dancesheepdance that found the names he would call his albums, I owe y'all, thank you guys so much!

title: the world’s a little blurry
[written with @chevalric]
pairing: joel farabee/michael raffl
rating: explicit
word count: 32k
summary:
Joel holds his breath on instinct, feeling his eyes go wide, maybe wider than they’ve ever been before. If he stays perfectly still and doesn’t move a single muscle, then maybe this moment of Mr. Raffl wanting to take him home can last forever.
Alternately, the catboy au.

anyway, this is a series i like to call ‘sam carchidi speaks in a presser and the flyers don’t even attempt to pretend they don’t hate him’
(for those who don’t know, carchidi is a philly beat reporter that literally no one likes)

Also, someone needs to get carter a toque
(Would it kill them to show some personality?? To wear some color?? Like since when does philly patty wear more color than literally everyone else?????)
((Peep the matching outfits & patty matching his toque to his phone. He said yall can have a pop of color and thats it))

live in living color by CatchAsCatchCan
joel farabee/morgan frost, carter hart/kevin hayes, travis konecny/nolan patrick, scott laughton/michael raffl (flyers) | 10k | teen and up
Just as Travis is drifting off to sleep, radio playing as vague background chatter, he hears Nolan’s voice. He knows this is impossible, because Nolan and his sprained ankle are miles away in Philadelphia, but still it really sounds like—
“I’ve got this—this friend, and I don’t know what to do about him,” says the voice on the radio. Says Nolan’s voice.
Nolan is on the radio and Travis is suddenly wide awake.
Or: two Philadelphia radio hosts play matchmaker until there’s no one left to matchmake but themselves.
rec comments: this didn’t feel like a fic that i would end up absolutely adoring but, here we are. This is so cleverly written, four different pairings bound together by a radio show and it just hits all the fave au’s. i will definitely be re-reading this one from time to time - @pattyrosyteeks
