I'm so disappointed in the adult fans in the fandom because I can expect the temper tantrum about "ANNABETH IS SUPPOSED TO BE BLONDE" from the kids but not from those of you who have grown in the fandom and have seen the evolution of how diverse it became in terms of canon and fanon content and how much it helped the fanbase.

Like it genuinely hurts to see people say stuff like "oh but this is too political, they should just stick to the plot" as if adaptations of books haven't changed up scripts or castings for political agenda before.

Literally JKR queerbaited the entire fucking Harry Potter fandom and everyone ate up that shit even though it was garbage and wasn't even canon in plot, she was trying not to get cancelled; her representation of desi women was shit and the entire thing about elves being slaves was political.

So if a black actress being casted for a white character is where you draw the line for things being "too political" know that all of your arguments come with racist undertones and it's fucking terrible.
