There's this argument haters use against ships they hate like it's the ultimate "gotcha!", that has been bugging me for quite some time now.

It's when they bring up the power imbalance in a pairing — be it an age gap, a height/physical strength disparity, or a human/vampire relationship — as if its mere existence "automatically" means the older character will most definitely (or "they've been doing it all along, stupid!") exploit the younger one. Why? Because real-life abusers tend to take advantage of power imbalances IRL? This ain't real life.

Well, here's something the haters fail to consider — intentionally, more often than not: How the relationship was actually portrayed on-screen by the writer(s). If the writer didn't have a character exploit the power imbalance in their relationship and their actions demonstrate this, then it's not a problem, period.

TL;DR: A power imbalance by itself isn't "inherent evidence" that a ship is "abusive, actually!"

To fix a maybe plot hole and not having a William 2.0 situation by having Jeremie go to Lyoko, he doesn't go as much as the others since he's not a fighter but a researcher so only going when there isn't a xana attack and leaving when there is. But also, if he got xana-fied, it wouldn't be practical since he's too much of a simp to hurt Aelita. I dont know. Will probably explore this idea more later.

I was having a bit of a creative block, so I decided to rewatch a few episodes of Code Lyoko out of boredom.

So a little bit about me, but Jeremie/Aelita was probably my first otp (either this or Ulrich/Yumi from the same show), back before I knew about the concept of fandoms.

As for the last two works, those were doodles I did while watching Code Lyoko and it was just going to involve Gaige and Angel with Jeremie and Aelita, but I added Maya and Krieg because I remember in the prequel episode, Aelita was originally named Maya and I thought it would be funny if Aelita/Maya meets Maya the Siren from Borderlands and... yeah.......

(it's supposed to be like "girls hanging out while their boyfriend's (along with Angel's girlfriend) do something)
