The webcomic that first inspired me to make a webcomic of my own.
I dearly hope it comes back someday. I miss it so much.

Logan makes a very valid point here. Helping others can often be a double-edged sword, redirecting the hurt toward either yourself or someone else. It’s also a nice contrast between Kamala’s rookie optimism & Logan’s veteran cynicism.

My Adventures with Superman lands at Channel 4
Warner Bros. My Adventures with Superman is heading to Channel 4, launching next week
Warner Bros. My Adventures with Superman is heading to Channel 4, launching next week, Friday 20th October. This joyous, anime-styled take on the Superman story is a serialised coming-of-age story that’s earned plenty of praise from fans of the DC Comics character. Catch up with twenty-somethings Clark Kent (voiced by The Boys star Jack Quaid), the bright and driven Lois Lane (Alice Lee), and…

The Well by Jake Wyatt and Choo
Tumblr media
As always we're starting off with trigger warnings, and I think the only one I've got for this one is death of a family member. Please tell me any you think I need to add.
Li-Zhen's parents and grandmother died fighting the monster that was terrorizing their small archipelago island. But when she a small handful of coins from a well, so that she could have money for her Ah-Gong, she learns that she didn't steal coins. She stole wishes.
This book is so good. Beautifully written, with amazing drawings and dreamy scenery. Li-Zhen is a very real protagonist who carries herself throughout the book in the way a real person would deal with their problems. As the book carries on, her actions weigh more and more heavily on her, and you can see that in her posture and in her more reserved personality, whereas she was super bubbly at the beginning of the book. Would definitely recommend this book the everyone.

The Well by Jake Wyatt and Choo
▪︎ sci-fi graphic novel ▪︎
money is a (unfortunately) necessary item to have in the world. money gives us food, warmth, shelter. but how far are you willing to go to have enough money to survive?
our darling main character lizzy has a tragic backstory—her family left her alone with her grandfather when she was just a baby. he raised her on his own, and quite well—the two live in harmony. but their life is disrupted one day when lizzy goes to the town's annual market. having been distracted, she realizes that she's spent all her money, and now she doesn't have any left for the winter. desperate for enough money to get home, she steals some coins from a magical well without knowing the consequences. lizzy must now grant the wishes she stole, or be consumed by the well and made its servant forever.
▪︎
this book was quite good—a quick read, but good nevertheless. however, the transition from the backstory to the main plot, along with the ending, certainly left something to be desired. personally, i found some of the main plot points a tad confusing, and there were definitely a few things that didn't make sense until much further into the story. but the adventure was fun to follow, and overall it was a good read.
