Free comic book day is always sooo fun. I discover new things all the time. These were the non-freebies.
And a close-up of the gorgeous hardcover trades for Jim Henson’s The Storyteller
I’ve been collecting the individual issues of Storyteller for awhile now, but have been wanting to buy the trades.

So #TheKiller has an adaptation by @netflix in the works? Is it gonna last two seasons like everything else? Probably considering what this franchise is all about.
What are people gonna complain about glorifying a hitman?
Not if they play the source material right. The French comic series translated in English by Boom Studios’ Archaia imprint features title character who internally monologues his nihilistic outlooks on life.
It might come with some insightful commentary, but the way it’s written doesn’t feel natural; it feels mechanical and dull. Thing is that’s par of the satire; the killer’s average joe looks can’t make him some charming debonair, he’s not really someone you’d want to share a beer with, and the killings feel dull. The whole point is that an actual professional hitman is just plain boring.
So why the heck would Netflix make a show out of this? The showrunners will probably play up the small bits of the Killer’s humanity. Like his trophy wife who remains loyal and brings out some feeling out of him. That includes his son. But also the mystery surrounding his true identity before going off the grid, including his apparent sister looking into him.
For all I know, it could be played like the #Sopranos. But first it’ll have to get past one season.
