littleferal’s 2021 roundup (2) 🌙
hi everyone!!! i guess it's time to start rounding off 2021 and where did it go?!? my present to you all is to share my favourite works this year. you can find my previous fic rec roundup from the first half of 2021 here. and also my pegging collection here. for specific tastes :“)
as always, each character has their own section broken down into thoughts, rabbles & headcanons (smallest pieces), one shots and multi-chapters. multi-chapters are always linked to the first chapter or their masterlist if they have one. summaries follow all one shots and multi-chapters. they have all been pulled from the fic themself or i have added a brief one if one wasn't available.
you may find some pieces on here that were on from before; if it's a multichapter still updating you know i'm going to keep throwing it at you!! plus, a reread deserves a reblog, so maybe not everything is from this year.
please go and show everyone a bit of love and don’t forget to reblog what you love for your content creators!!! <3
finally, as always, please read all warnings on pieces first. i have used a simple key to give you an idea to what you’re heading into but you are responsible for the media you consume

Hotels are built for mistakes; a heady cocktail of anonymity, overpriced drinks, and the luxury of running away before check-in the next morning. Jack “Whiskey” Daniels – a costume cowboy and all-around obnoxious blowhard with a penchant for bourbon, ropes, and sharp-tongued women – might as well be a mistake on legs. Unfortunately for you, he’s also hotter than a goddamn wildfire. And, unfortunately for the both of you, some mistakes are far more addictive than others.

* * * * *
Halfway to the drive you remember to ask, "So who are we interviewing at the school?"
"James O'Malley, who is the principal, and Margaret Solokowski, one of three first grade teachers." His response is automated as he looks to the right out the window.
Your mind drifted back to the case from when you were only nine. It was the reason you wanted to be involved with S.W.A.T or the FBI.
Your brother was playing in a sand pit at the local playground when you turned around to go buy the two of you some ice cream cones from the truck driving slowly past.
There was a priest with a group of nuns walking through the park, discussing something about the "Lord's Will". You didn't believe in any of that stuff then, so you rolled your eyes and told the nice man what ice creams you wanted.
"There you go, kiddie."
"Thank you!"
Spinning on your heel, you licked your own ice cream as you went to get back to Joey, your brother.
Something was wrong though. When you looked, he wasn't there anymore. He had been playing with a group of three kids, and none of them were there anymore. Turning back around you remember the Priest had been driving away with the nuns. You saw the two other childrens' mothers crying and talking, flailing their arms wildly at each other.
"Joey? Joey where are you," you wandered around the play set for a minute and started crying when you couldn't find him.
Wandering up to one of the adults scattered through the play area, a mother with a small baby in her arms, and said, "Can-" a sniffle before, "Can I borrow your phone? I need to call my mom."
"Of course, honey," she shuffled the little girl to her other hip and grabbed the phone from her other pocket. "Here you go sweetie. Is there anything else you need?"
"No. Uh, thank you. I'll bring it right back."
Taking a few steps away you called your mother's house number, suddenly grateful for the pressure she had put on you from a young age to remember her house number and her cell number.
"Mom-"
Hey, honey,- what? What's going on?"
"Mom, I can't find Joey. He's not here. I just walked ten steps to get our ice cream and he's- I can't find him, mom. And the other two kids were gone too. I don't know what to do, he's gone. Mom-"
"Honey?"
"I can't find-"
"Y/N!" You finally stop rambling and quiet down enough to hear your mom's voice and your own heartbeat. "We'll find him, okay? Tell whoever's phone this is what happened, and then wait there for me okay? Ask the lady you borrowed this from to call the police and help you explain what happened and I'll be right over there okay? It will take me five minutes, okay?"
"Okay. I love you."
"I love you too, Peanut."
Hanging up the phone you do as she told you and explained your situation to the kind woman with the baby. She agreed to help you call the police, even though the other parents had probably already done it.
"Are you okay, Y/N?"
"Y/N? Hey. Y/N! You missed the turn..."
You snap out of your flashback and look around you at the road.
"What?"
Hotch let out and annoyed puff of air and pointed to the road that you were about to drive past. "That's our turn. You know, to get to the school. That's right there."
Mumbling under your breath you turn the signal on and slam the breaks after seeing there was no one behind you. You smirk to yourself when you see that the man in the passenger seat had to throw his arm out so as not to hit the dashboard.
"Agent, if you do not drive this vehicle with care, I will personally revoke your privilege of driving on the clock," he threatens as he adjusts the lapels on his suit jacket.
You ignore him and park in front of the school, getting out and straightening your own blazer.
"You let me do the talking, L/N." He declares as he brushes past you, not bothering to hold the door on his way.
Murmuring under your breath, you follow him in.
Almost immediately, you are stopped by someone from campus security and flash your badges in reply. The guard simply nods and sends you through, pointing to the principal's office.
"Mr. O'Malley? I'm SSA Aaron Hothcner, and this is Agent L/N. We are here from the BAU in Quantico investigating the homicides that I'm sure you've heard about. I was wondering if we could ask you a few questions about the victims; they were all students here." Hotch's air of professionalism was back full force rather than his childish antics only five minutes ago.
O'Malley shakes his head slightly, a red tint coming to his ears as his eyes scan the clock. "Actually, I don't have the time right now. I have another meeting coming up shortly-"
"Sir, your meeting isn't for another fifteen minutes," the secretary states before turning back to you and Hotch, "Surely that's enough time for you and your partner to ask him a few questions?" The young woman looks at you when she speaks, her eyes silently pleading. She must know something as well.
"No, Anne. I really don't have time for that-"
"Hotchner, if you want to talk to Mr. O'Malley, maybe I could ask," you pause, reading her desk tag, "Ms. Brink a few questions?"
She nods her head eagerly, and as much as Hotch wanted to argue, he has seen her desperate look as well and would have suggested splitting up if you hadn't.
"I was just about to say that. Mr. O'Malley is there somewhere we could go that's a bit more private?" Hotch questions, signaling behind him, "If that's a break room that would be perfect."
O'Malley nods, standing up. He walks towards the door, opening it as he turns back to look at the you and Hotch. There's a glint of something in his eyes and-
And he's running.
"Go! Hotch, go, go, GO!" Before you even finish urging him to chase the principal he's running after the man. "Anne, if you know anything suspicious about James O'Malley you need to tell me, and you need to tell me now."
Tears well in the younger woman's eyes as she nods, fists bunching in the skirt of her peach colored dress. "He, uh. He has made- you know. S-sexual advances on a few young girls. He did the same to me, b-but when he d-did it to me he said he would kill the next girl that w-was in here if I told..." Anne breaks into sobs as she hangs her head low.
"Anne, listen to me. None of this is your fault. You were only trying to protect these girls and yourself. This has been extremely helpful, thank you, Ms. Brink." Gently you reach over and squeeze her hand, sliding a box of tissues towards her before quickly slipping out of the office.
Pulling your phone out of your pocket, you call Garcia.
"BAU Sperm Donation: You jack 'em, we pack 'em. How can I help you my pretty?"
You don't have time to laugh, though you so badly wanted to. "Pen, I need to to pull everything you can find about James O'Malley. He's the-"
"School principle of Opportunity Elementary. He's 37 years old, comes from a highly religious background- Papa Bear was a Priest. He- oh boy. Oh no. This is not good." You hear computer keys clacking on the other end before you prompt her to keep speaking.
"Yeah, Pen? What's not good?"
"This guy," she clicks her tongue, "And his entire recent history when you deep-dive in my Fancy Google. This guy is on review for child molestation and rape charges."
You slam your fist against the nearby wall and curse lowly, "Do you have any large property in his name? Anything big enough to have some sort of shrine, or altar? Also, with enough room to... oh God... cleanly chop off a-"
"Ah! AH! Stop! I get it. I'm looking."
After a moment she sighs, "Bingo! 142 Walnut St. right outside of the town that the school is in. Twelve minutes and forty-three seconds from your current location. I'll ping the directions to you and notify the rest of the team. They are slightly further away, so you and your partner should get there first. Hurry, Y/N, he might have another kid there."
"Bye, Pen." You hang up and start running to the SUV, surprised to see Hotch there, already waiting in the passenger seat. You wonder why he hadn't sat on the other side and remember about the key in your pocket.
Getting in, you slam the door, not bothering to buckle and say, "Take my phone and pull up the directions from Pen. That's where our guy is going, she think he has another child based on video footage from this morning's video feed of the back entrance of his office."
Hotch surprisingly doesn't argue, instead doing exactly as he was told while you sped in the direction you had come from before.
Withing ten minutes you had made it to the house, not saying a word to Hotch as your mind ran through all of the possibilities of what you'd find. This was your first child case since you moved to the BAU and honestly you weren't handling it very well.
When you made it to the barn, you snatched your gun from your holster and kept it aimed towards the ground. Motioning to Hotch you signal that he should go left and you will go right.
Clearly, he didn't like you making all the calls, but he was so upset about losing the guy the first time around that he didn't have it in him to command you down.
Beginning your move-in, you start to circle the barn just how you had told Hotch and kept your gun up as you crept towards the final turn to the back of the barn. Out of the corner of your eye you see the rest of the team start to jog over to the barn from the forest behind the bar, they must have decided to use a different entrance as hopes to catch O'Malley off guard.
Taking a moment to steel yourself you keep your back against the side of the barn before spinning in a quick step to raise your gun again and aim at the final possibility of where he could be-
But it was just Hotchner.
"L/N, he must be inside, turn back the way you came and we'll go in together." His voice is stern as you nod in compliance and turn around, raising your gun as you see a little boy. With a gun trained on him...
It's Joey. Joey is there dead in front of the church, a big cross burned into his chest... his five year old body.
That's all you see, just like that day so many years ago. That's all you see, so you jump forward in front of him and you-
Fall. You fall. And you can't tell why.
Blood, there's blood under you. Who's hurt?
"Y/N! Oh my God, Y/N!" Anything between your name being said the first and second time is lost in your fuzzy ears.
You don't realize why the voice is yelling at you until you feel the burning, fire-like pain, radiating up your left side.
After a moment, you feel hands on your shoulders, one of them moving to slap you in the face a few times to get your eyes to open, which they did.
"Hey, you need to stay awake. Okay? Y/N! Open your eyes. Look at me." Emily transfers her hands to your hip, pressing down on the wound there roughly. Your body instinctively crunches up to get away from the new, uncomfortable pain, but Emily presses down on your chest, keeping you to the floor.
You try to mumble something, but the second your mouth opens, it's as if you completely lost your voice.
"Shh, Y/N, you're going to be okay, you just need to keep your eyes open okay?
"What the hell, Aaron?! You were standing right there, man, why didn't you go to her?! She was fucking shot and you just stood there! You're our leader, start fucking acting like one!" You can't pick out all the words, but you can tell that it's Derek's voice and you smirk to yourself.
The last thing you heard before passing out was Derek ripping into Hotchner like you'd been waiting to for months.

Study: Nearest exoplanets could host life
Rocky, Earth-like planets orbiting our closest stars could host life, according to a new study that raises the excitement about exoplanets.
Tumblr media
When rocky, Earth-like planets were discovered orbiting in the habitable zone of some of our closest stars, excitement skyrocketed -- until hopes for life were dashed by the high levels of radiation bombarding those worlds.
Proxima-b, only 4.24 light years away, receives 250 times more X-ray radiation than Earth and could experience deadly levels of ultraviolet radiation on its surface. How could life survive such a bombardment? Cornell University astronomers say that life already has survived this kind of fierce radiation, and they have proof: you.
Lisa Kaltenegger and Jack O'Malley-James make their case in a new paper, published in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. Kaltenegger is associate professor of astronomy and director of Cornell's Carl Sagan Institute, at which O'Malley-James is a research associate.
All of life on Earth today evolved from creatures that thrived during an even greater UV radiation assault than Proxima-b, and other nearby exoplanets, currently endure. The Earth of 4 billion years ago was a chaotic, irradiated, hot mess. Yet in spite of this, life somehow gained a toehold and then expanded.
The same thing could be happening at this very moment on some of the nearest exoplanets, according to Kaltenegger and O'Malley-James. The researchers modeled the surface UV environments of the four exoplanets closest to Earth that are potentially habitable: Proxima-b, TRAPPIST-1e, Ross-128b and LHS-1140b.
These planets orbit small red dwarf stars which, unlike our sun, flare frequently, bathing their planets in high-energy UV radiation. While it is unknown exactly what conditions prevail upon the surface of the planets orbiting these flaring stars, it is known that such flares are biologically damaging and can cause erosion in planetary atmospheres. High levels of radiation cause biological molecules like nucleic acids to mutate or even shut down.
O'Malley-James and Kaltenegger modeled various atmospheric compositions, from ones similar to present-day Earth to "eroded" and "anoxic" atmospheres -- those with very thin atmospheres that don't block UV radiation well and those without the protection of ozone, respectively. The models show that as atmospheres thin and ozone levels decrease, more high-energy UV radiation reaches the ground. The researchers compared the models to Earth's history, from nearly 4 billion years ago to today.
Although the modeled planets receive higher UV radiation than that emitted by our own sun today, this is significantly lower than what Earth received 3.9 billion years ago.
"Given that the early Earth was inhabited," the researchers wrote, "we show that UV radiation should not be a limiting factor for the habitability of planets orbiting M stars. Our closest neighboring worlds remain intriguing targets for the search for life beyond our solar system."

“A great HW fight, a few great prospects, Jimi Manuwa and .500″ The UFC returns to the UK Preview
Joey
March 11th, 2018
Fights: 12 (11?)
Debuts: 5 (John Phillips, Charles Byrd, Magomed Ankalaev, Hakeem Dawodu, Dimitry Sosnovski)
Fight Changes/Injury Cancellations: 4 (Rustam Khabilov OUT, Stevie Ray IN vs Kajan Johnson/Dmitry Prohebetz OUT, Dmitry Sosnovskiy IN vs Mark Godbeer/Alex Reyes OUT, TBD IN vs Nasrat Haqparast/Elizeu Zaleski OUT, Brad Scott IN vs Jack Marshmann)
Headliners (fighters who have either main evented or co-main evented shows in the UFC): 5 (Fabricio Werdum, Alexander Volkov, Jimi Manuwa, Jan Blachowicz, Stevie Ray)
Fighters On Losing Streaks in the UFC:  2 (Terrion Ware, Paul Craig)
Fighters On Winning Streaks in the UFC:  7 (Fabricio Werdum, Alexander Volkov, Jan Blachowicz, Leon Edwards, Peter Sobotta, Mark Godbeer, Kajan Johnson)
Main Card Record Since Jan 1st 2016 (in the UFC): 18-8
Alexander Volkov- 3-0 Fabricio Werdum- 3-2 Jan Blachowicz- 3-2 Jimi Manuwa- 2-1 Tom Duquesnoy- 1-1 Terrion Ware- 0-2 Leon Edwards- 4-0 Peter Sobotta- 2-0
Too High Up- Terrion Ware vs Tom Duquesnoy
Terrion Ware is the sort of fighter every MMA organization loves to have. He's a guy who can test your prospects, give them a few unique looks and test what guys can and can't do. Thus far, Ware has given some dicey moments to Cody Stamman and Sean O'Malley so you know he can be your prospect tester dijour. The problem is Ware is fighting third up on the card vs Tom Duquesnoy in a fight entirely designed to get Duquesnoy back on the right track. I'm not opposed to young fighters getting opportunities to rebuild their stock because it's just smart business but Duquesnoy-Ware should not be third fight on the card. Thus far Ware's agent has got him on International Fight Week, the co-main event of an FS1 card and now this premier slot on Fight Pass. Dude's out here putting in work.
Too Low- Danny Henry vs Hakeem Dawodu
In his UFC debut, Canada's top prospect gets what is the usual "hyped guy debut" fight---a really fucking tough matchup where nobody respects his opponent. Henry is a former AFC champ who debuted vs Daniel Teymur and had a hellacious war with him in a FOTN bonus earning win. Henry looked huge for 155 lbs so lord knows what he'll look like at 145. Henry is a flawed fighter who Dawodu should be able to style on BUT there are no guarantees under 155 lbs and Henry has a lot of tools (power, size and cardio) which should give Hakeem some issues. This fight should be on the main card.
Stat Monitor for 2018: Debuting Fighters (Current number: 6-9):  John Phillips, Charles Byrd, Magomed Ankalaev, Hakeem Dawodu, Dimitry Sosnovski
Short Notice Fighters (Current number: 6-2): Stevie Ray, Dmitry Sosnovski, Brad Scott
Second Fight (Current number: 8-9): Oliver Enkamp, Danny Henry, Nasrat Haqparast
Cage Corrosion (Current number: 5-9):
Undefeated Fighters (Current number: 11-8): Hakeem Dawodu, Dmitry Sosnovski
Twelve Precarious Ponderings
1- I'd actually like to begin by doing a bit of an exercise if you'll so indulge me. There are 17 European fighters on this card from top to bottom if you remove the in limbo fight for one Nasrat Haqparast. Removing the debuting fighters, that number drops to 15. Of those fifteen fighters, how many of them are some combination resulting in 2-2 in their last 4 fights?
Jimi Manuwa Jan Blachowicz Danny Roberts Jack Marshmann Brad Scott Paul Craig Stevie Ray
So of the fifteen fighters on this card from Europe who have set foot in the UFC octagon, seven of them are 2-2 in their last 4 fights. That fifteen also includes guys like Tom Duquesnoy, Alexander Volkov and others who don't even have a four fight minimum in the org.
The point was to illustrate the challenges of the European fight scene. MOST of these guys fight in Europe and the UFC goes to Europe, what, six times a year? That leaves these guys taking fights outside of Europe but never in America; like Mexico, Canada or Brazil primarily. That creates a pretty weird dynamic where most of these fights are outside of their comfort zones and on the road in enemy territory where they're really just there to be "an opponent." All of this leads to an erosion of fan support as more and more European fighters get smelted out of their home markets, creating the illusion that they're just not good enough. It all leads to a challenge of balancing the desire to showcase international fighters in front of their fans with the fact that there are X amount of cards to fill up with guys who have to fight X amount of times across X amount of dates. When SO many local fighters are in a state of "win one, lose one, win one, lose one" there's no semblance of momentum.
2- What fighter in Fabricio Werdum's past does Alexander Volkov best represent? I can't think of somebody who he's faced who provides the combination of workrate, size and striking depth that Volkov has. That's not to say Werdum can't win (or won't win) but I'm at a loss for a real good comp for Volkov.
3- It's amazing the level of durability Fabricio Werdum has displayed throughout his career. Not even looking at the level of growth he's displayed as a fighter, we're talking about a guy who has fought at a high level since at least 2007 when I first got reintroduced to MMA. He's fought everybody under the sun and only two guys have managed to put him down and out; Stipe Miocic and JDS. That includes fights with Overeem (three times), Cain Velasquez, Mark Hunt, Fedor, Big Foot, Andrei Arlovski, Big Nog (twice), Travis Browne (twice) and Gabriel Gonzaga. All of that is to lead into the obvious; at SOME point this dude is going to crack. He's over 40, fought three times last year and might fight three more times this year given how often the UFC calls upon him. It's just the nature of the human body to EVENTUALLY erode from prolonged damage. Volkov isn't blessed with the one hitter quitter that can put a dude out on impact but he is very active and aggressive. It probably wouldn't happen early but if this fight drags, accumulation of damage could be a serious problem.
4- So this main card is actually not bad considering it's a European Fight Pass card. Werdum/Volkov is a really good HW fight (and the winner probably is facing the winner of Lewis/Ngannou for a #1 contender spot), Blachowicz/Manuwa I was an awful fight but this is a relevant fight between big dudes at 205 lbs including one dude who will always be a "maybe sorta" #1 contender type because he creates highlight reels. Peter Sobotta vs Leon Edwards isn't the world's sexiest fight on paper but Sobotta has really turned his career around since coming back to the UFC and he seems really confident in his hands right now. On the other hand, Leon Edwards has lost his fight finishing spark but still has fights which suggest he's growing somewhat as a fighter. Even Duquesnoy/Ware should be tons of fun. The prelim slate is just so "UFC Fight Pass in Europe" level that it really dampens the excitement. Brett Johns getting on this card wouldve been huge for him.
5- Jan Blachowicz has sort of had a chance to mentally reset his stock on the lower half of the 205 lb division and gets rocketed RIGHT back up the top of the division. Blachowicz has really struggled around this level with losses to Pat Cummins (in a fight he could've won), Jimi Manuwa (fight he should've won), Alexander Gustafsson (in a fight he probably shouldn't of taken) and Corey Anderson. The level of competition there is pretty intense and it's not like Jan has been completely outstyled in those fights. He's just NOT on that level (or wasn't enough to win those fights). He gets a second crack at Manuwa now.
6- I'm really beginning to lose faith in Danny Roberts as a prospect. On the regional circuit, he always seemed to put himself in various states of peril but it seemed to be more out of inexperience. In the UFC, he's continued to put himself in bad spots defensively and his chin has been cracked on a number of opportunities. Dominique Steele had him hurting in a bad way, Mike Perry finished him in a fight where Roberts just couldn't get out of the way for a fifteen minute period, Bobby Nash had Roberts all sorts of thrown off before Danny Roberts finished him off and Nordine Taleb finished Roberts in violent fashion in December. Roberts draws Swedish karate ace Oliver Enkamp in a pivotal fight for both guys.
7- Can Leon Edwards somehow finish Peter Sobotta and keep pace with the other 170 lbers who seem to all be getting their careers on the right track?
8- If Leon Edwards wins, do they try to put him vs Ponz in Chile? I really like Edwards but since nearly finishing Claudio Silva and smelting Seth Baczynski, he's had 6 fights and gone to a decision in all but one of them. There's really no reason somebody with his tools should be so....not fun. His fights are heading in the opposite direction at a time where Kamaru Usman, Darren Till, Ponz, Max Griffin, Elizeu Zaleski, Jake Matthews, Mike Perry and others in that  "fun new WW to care about" are all having damn fun fights.
9- All Magomed Ankalaev has to do is finish his fight and be the savior of 205 lbs. It's not asking too much.
10- Alright Mark Godbeer, what stupid shit you gonna get yourself into this time?
11- So about the Godbeer fight, maybe this exposes my lack of knowledge but I could not tell you the differences between Dmitry Sosnovskiy and Dmitry Poberezhets, the guy who was originally scheduled to fight Godbeer. The UFC seems to have like a bevy of heavyweights who they signed but can't seem to actually get to get into the cage, it's almost infuriating if you're one of those OCD guys who wants to keep up with everything going on.
12- Stevie Ray getting a new contract to try and smelt Kajan Johnson is very UFC of the UFC. It's almost like a Batman TAS plot from the Joker.
Must Wins
1- Fabricio Werdum
I feel like all of Werdum fights are must win given how much trouble he seems to bring with him. The last time we saw Werdum, he was throwing boomerangs at folks and shouting out Chechen warlords while also decisioning a very good HW in Marcin Tybura. The time before that he took a fight on thirty minutes notice vs Walt Harris and was caught on camera using the unacceptable f word in Spanish like six times. Werdum vs Volkov is a great HW fight that pits the old dog in the race vs the seasoned in his prime pro who is peaking. Good fight but a must win for the always controversial Werdum.
2-  Tom Duquesnoy
This entire thing is tailor made for Duquesnoy. He's getting a guy coming off two losses who is a glorified opponent. He's in Europe, he's on the main card and this entire showcase is built to make him look good and like the star. He truly cannot fuck this up.
3- Magomed Ankalaev
Mr. Ankalaev, I do not know you. I do not necessarily believe I have to know you at this point. All I know is you're a new light heavyweight. God speed, my dude.
Five Can't Miss Fights
1- Alexander Volkov vs Fabricio Werdum
2- Tom Duquesnoy vs Terrion Ware
3- Hakeem Dawodu vs Danny Henry
4- Jack Marshmann vs Brad Scott
5- John Phillips vs Charles Byrd

Life Could Be Evolving Right Now On Nearest Exoplanets
Our closest neighboring worlds remain intriguing targets for the search for life beyond our solar system." Read the full article

Nervously you busy yourself, doing anything, before Jack arrives to pick up Finn.  Had swept the house multiple times.  Vacuumed and vacuumed again.  Mopped until you were light headed from the cleaning supplies, and still you couldn’t sit still.  A constant beating and banging of Finn’s drums, and honestly it makes you want to scream.  Thrilled when Jack just walks into the house without knocking.
Walking into the kitchen to see you unloading the dishwasher.  Again.  He takes a deep breath, and dramatically coughs at the lingering clean smell, before sitting down at the bar, “What’s the deal with the cleaning?”
“I’m getting the stench of loneliness out of this house,” you answer shortly.  Continuing about your business.
Jack’s finger taps on the counter, hissing through his teeth.  “Can we talk?”
“Is that not what we’re doing?”
“No, I say something, and you snap back.  That’s different.”
“Well, what do you want me to say Jack?” You go to make a cup of coffee, and Jack walks over to you, pointing at the stools.  “What do you want?”
“I’m going to make you a cup of coffee,” while you roll your eyes, he moves around to the machine, and spins on his heels to stare at you.  “I messed up.”
“Mhmm.  We established that nearly a year ago.”
“Can we go back to sessions?” You shake your head no, but his face doesn’t change from his determination.  “Why?”
“We tried Jack.  I tried.  While I was trying you were getting text messages at three o’clock in the morning from that woman.  Doesn’t take a genius to figure out your late night bootie calls.  So while I’m at home asleep, with your son upstairs, you’re getting your dick wet with some whore that you promised you would never speak to again.  So why should we go back to therapy?  I filed for divorce.  You were served.  I’m done.”
He grimaces a moment before he blurts out, “I never had sex her.”
“Oh?  So what were you doing?”
“Talking.  That’s it.”
“Hmm, you know, I think I liked the idea of you having meaningless sex better.  But I guess if you can talk to her instead of me, it wouldn’t be meaningless would it?  You developed feelings for her.”
“I deserve that,” he chokes out, turning around to grab the creamer from the fridge.  “I should have stopped.  She works at the DA’s office, and…it was mostly business because I feel I can’t talk to you about things from work.”
“Oh my god!  Jack, you’re telling me that she’s always going to be in your life?  This is great.  And you let her around my son.”
“You had Dean around our son.”
He slides the mug over to you, starting his own cup, but you can only angrily stare at the mug, it was the perfect shade of brown.  It smelled divine, and you hated that Jack knew how to make your perfect cup of coffee.  “Is this what this is about?  You saw me with Dean.”
“I saw Dean groping you on a Ferris wheel.  Cal had to stand in front of Finn so he would see what a disappointment…”
“Say it.  I’m a disappointment?  You can risk your marriage for some bitch that you’re not even fucking.  And the minute that I get out and go on a date, I’m the disappointment.  Which, by the way, we weren’t even together.  Just because your indiscretions went unseen by Finn doesn’t mean that you’re the innocent party.  I didn’t know you were going to be at the fair.  And if I recall, Dean wasn’t the first one to grope me on a Ferris wheel.  So is Dean your problem?  Because I’m at a loss here?”
“Do you have a date with him tonight?” You snort, shaking your head no.  “This weekend at all?”
“No.  I’m not dating Dean.  Not that it’s any of your concern.  Is that all?”
“Why him?  He’s Finn’s teacher, and…why him?”
“Is this because he’s Finn’s teacher or does it bother you that he was my first love?” Jack shrugs, unsure how to answer.  He didn’t know if it was Dean in general that got under his skin, because who Dean was to you, or the fact he was in too close a vicinity to Finn.
“Remember when I told you I was okay?  Before the arguing really started, I just shut down.  Then you were gone and didn’t come home until four or five in the morning.  And one time I had to take our son to the ER because his fever skyrocketed, and I couldn’t wake him up, and I couldn’t reach you?  My son was so feverish he was unconscious in my arms,” Jack has to look away from you.  He was ashamed that he chose someone else’s time over his family that needed him.  It was the reason that he now made time to be with Finn as much as possible.
“Work, and this woman took you away from the two people you claimed to love above all else.  Our son was in the hospital, and I didn’t get in touch with you until his fever dropped.  He needed you.  I needed you, but you were unavailable to us, because of her,” you slap your hand on the counter, getting upset at how utterly alone you felt then.  How you couldn’t help but wonder what would Jack do if he were there.  Instead, you watched over your baby who had finally broken his fever, and still you were alone.  Comforting him, but not having the support that you needed.
“I realized something then.  I realized I lost myself.  I was a hairdresser.  I was Jack’s wife, and I was Finn’s mom.  But I wasn’t me.  It became painfully clear that instead of your partner, I became your live-in maid and babysitter that would sometimes share the comfort of your embrace.  Sometimes I was used as wet flesh for you.  And yes, I pushed for us to have a baby because you were so good when Finn was a baby.  I had all of you.  I thought by having a baby I would get that back, and you stop with your tomfoolery.  And you refused, so I refused to let you just fuck me.  Because Jack, that’s what it was.  There was none of that passion that we used to have.  There was none of the kissing or the holding each other.  It was the gripping and pounding every fucking time.  And I couldn't bring the Jack that I love back.  That’s why I needed to separate from you.  I couldn’t play these draining mind games I was having with myself.  You move out and came here every night.  Every night we had us back, and every morning you left and I had to wake our son and get him ready for school.  I always get the hard part.  You get to be the fun dad.  And you blamed me when I got jealous of you getting to have fun with our son.”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s too late,” he shakes his head rapidly, trying to reach towards you.  “It’s too late,” the two of you caught up in your emotions don’t realize that Finn had stopped beating on his drums.  He places a hand on your hip, and you jerk it off.  “No.  I am done being the one that loved the most in our relationship.  There’s nothing I wouldn’t have done for us, but I can’t do this.  I won’t go back to feeling like a prisoner in our home and our relationship.  I can’t do that.  I need to find me.”
“Sharkie, please.”
“No!  Don’t you fucking use that name with me, Jack.  You lost the privilege when you chose someone else,” he tries to hug you, but you push him off of you again, “No.  Stop it!”
“Mom?” Finn squeaks out, and you spin around and away from him, trying to wipe the tears off your cheeks, while Jack steps away from you.  “Dad, is mom okay?”
“She’s fine, buddy.  Go get your things,” not listening to his dad, he walks behind you, and gives you a big hug.  Squishing his face up against your back before he goes back upstairs.  You don’t even let Jack get out your name before you’re walking away from him.  “Wait.”
“I’m not talking about this.  You should have talked while we were in therapy.  Things might be different.  Have a good weekend,” you wait at the bottom of the stairs, giving Finn a big hug and kiss, watching only him as they leave.  Going into your bedroom, you lay down.  There was enough time to take a nap before you called Nick.  You just needed a moment.
Tumblr media
Jack is too focused on the road.  Usually he made jokes with his son, or would poke at him.  He does nothing.  Finn looks over at his dad, and crosses his arms over his chest, “Why did you make mom cry?”
“I made her cry?  Why would you say that?”
“You were in there.  And she was crying,” Jack shakes his head no, looking out at the road before him.  “You’re lying.  You always make her cry.  Every night.”
“What?  Finn, no…no, your mom and I…”
“You fight.”
“Argue.”
“And it hurts her feelings.  She only cries when she talks to you.  I miss when you both were happy, and together.  Don’t you?  You came home and tucked me in.  If you couldn’t we would FaceTime, and mom left smiling, still talking to you.  She loves you, and you…do you love her?”
“Finn,” Jack has to stop his words, while he tries to hold the tears in his eyes.  Not wanting to make this a bigger deal in front of Finn.  It was a huge deal, but you both decided he didn’t need to know everything.  “I love your mom very much.”
“Not like she loves you.  She still sleeps in your shirts.  Still sometimes sets the table and puts a plate in front of your chair.  She holds a pillow when she watches TV.  She doesn’t sleep.  Do you do those things like she does?  And if she misses you so much, why can’t you just come home?  I don’t want you sleeping on the couch this Christmas.”
Jack pulls into the apartment complex and turns to look at him, “I love your mom very much.”
“Not like she loves you.”
“I just don’t show my love the same way she does,” Finn rolls his eyes, and opens up his door.  Needing to get out of the car, and away from him.  “Finn.  Buddy stop.  Why are you so upset?”
“Why did Coach Winchester ask how mom was doing?  He asked if you were living back at the house.  Why?  He was at the fair with mom wasn’t he?  Is she going to see him now?  I wanna go home.  I don’t want her with him.  I want her with you.  Take me home!” He pushes his face up against his dad’s chest, while Jack tries to think of the best way to deal with Dean.
Dean should have never involved his son in any of this.  Much less allude to them dating.  Jack just pets his son’s fluffy hair.  “Buddy, it’s my weekend.”
“Stay in the guest bedroom.  I don’t want him to be with her.”
“He’s not.  He’s just majorly overstepping his boundary because he thinks he knows your mom. I’ll make sure that your mom knows, and we’ll let her take care of everything, and if he asks you anything else about your mother, I need to know, okay?” Finn gives him a pitiful nod of his head, and Jack pulls him along to the apartment.
“Uncle Cal and Uncle TJ are coming over for some pizza and beer.”
“You mean I get root beer, TJ drinks that nasty static water, and you and Cal drink beer?” Jack laughs, answering with a yep.  “Can we play Mario Kart or Mario Party this time?”
“Yes, this time you get to pick out the games, movies, and snacks, okay?”
“Good because you guys suck,” Jack ruffles his son's hair, and gently pushes him into the apartment.  Trying to take a deep breath and reflect on everything that was said in a short amount of time.  He had already determined he was going to do whatever he could to get you back, and while everything you and Finn had told him hurt like hell, he still wasn’t ready to give up.  It just made him face the reality of how he made you feel.
Tumblr media
“Nice place you got here,” Nick says walking through the door.  Looking around the living room before his eyes gaze up and down your body.  “Where to my lady?”
“Maybe,” you start as his mouth attaches to your neck.  His hands roam down your body, and you lead the way to the room.  “Maybe let’s not make this sound so gross and…transactional.”
“Are you wanting to fuck me and that’s it?  Or you wanting to date me?” You bite at your lip stopping at the door, “That’s what I thought.  Listen, I’m okay with the casual hookup.  A weekend long sex marathon, whatever.  I’m less inclined with the dating scene.  Let’s face it, you chose me to piss Jack off.  And I’m okay with pissing him off, because I’d like to piss him off myself.  So maybe if we can get to the foreplay so I can make you forget how you’ve officially filed for divorce and stop with this silly nonsense.”
Opening the door, Nick looks around, and then turns back to you, “This big house, and that’s the master bedroom?”
“This is the guest room.”
“Rolling out the red carpet for me, huh?  What’s wrong with your actual bedroom?” Your eyes go to the floor, and you lose confidence.  This was a bad idea.  He had no right to be in your home.  And you didn’t want another man in your bed that you shared with Jack.  With his fingers, he lifts your chin up, making you look at him.  “You don’t have to explain.  What about the table?”
“My kid eats there.”
“The couch?  Right, kid.  I would suggest the stairs, but your kid walks down them,” he lifts you up, pinning you against the wall.  Those skilled and sinful lips start kissing and sucking on your neck.  “This wall okay?”
“Y-y-yeah.”
“When was the last time anyone made you feel good?  Just you.  Not you trying to get themselves off, but made you feel like the only one in the room.  Fucked you so hard that you forget about all those ugly things in your brain.  You become mush, and pliant.  This guest room is perfect.  But I’m going to enjoy softening you up on this wall.”
Every whispered word comes out raw on your neck.  A warm tingly feeling courses through your veins, and your body starts moving on its own accord.  Slightly running your sweltering core over Nick’s stomach.  He rips at your shirt, pulling it down enough, and attaches his mouth to your shoulder.  Kissing on your skin until a bruise forms on you.
Even when you try to kiss him, he pushes your face away, “I said this was about you.”
“Why?”
“You look like you need to have your brains fucked out.  And if it’s good enough, do I get to stay all weekend?” His hand pushes past the elastic of your leggings moaning when he feels how slicked up you are.  Pressing his finger against your bundle of nerves, still letting you hunch on him.
“You need this,” he walks you into the spare bedroom, never moving you off his body, and crawls the two of you on the bed.  You start pulling down your leggings, and Nick shoves two fingers in your cunt.  Slowly pumping into you before adding a third finger.  “She likes being stretched, huh?” He notes as you move your hands to your tits. Tweaking your own nipples, while Nick enjoys your body’s reactions.  Even in just a shirt, you were enjoying discovering your body again.
You were shaping up to be everything he always thought you were.  Jack hadn’t dulled your light too much.  You were sure of yourself, and what you liked.  Even started slamming your body on his fingers.  Holding still he lets you enjoy yourself.  Using his fingers to make yourself feel good.  Your juices drip into his palm, and he can’t believe his luck.  You were responsive.  A neglected sex goddess.
Curling his fingers, he fucks into you.  Your voice sings out when he hits your special spot.  Pressing down on your stomach, he starts pushing into your warmth with a heated fervor.  You reach behind, and cling to the headboard, as you moan.  Body lifting off the bed, as your tummy heats up.  Pleasure you hadn’t felt in years builds up, and you want to hang on.  Let him push you past the limits that you set for yourself.  Letting Nick dominate your pussy.
Your toes curl up, and you nearly lift off the bed.  Bending your back to a harsh angle as juices gush out of your body.  Nick keeps going.  Smirking at you when he pushes down on your stomach harder, and you scream.  Gritting your teeth as you squirt once more.  Trying to say thank you, but it was more of a grunt.
Removing his fingers, he lets your body settle back down, but he buries himself in between your thighs.  Slurping up all your juices, and when you try and push him off because the pleasure was almost blinding, he just goes harder.  Sucking your bundle of nerves into his mouth, giving it a tiny nibble as your walls start crumbling down.
Nick pulls back enough to lick up your juices.  Those bright eyes smiling up at you from your cunt.  Making sure that you hear every salacious sound, turning his face to the side, he wipes your slick on your thighs.  Lifting up to sit on his heels, and he gives you a dopey smile.  “You good?  Or do you need more?”
“More!”
“What do you want, hmm?” Your eyes flick down to the tent in his pants, and you whimper.  Nick was blessed, and he seemed to know exactly how to use his gifts.  You were too far gone, and needed to see what else he could do.  “What do you want?”
“I want you to fuck me.”
“Are you giving me permission to do whatever the fuck I want to your body.”
“With a condom.”
“Of course, safety first.  Now, I know your best friend is with Jack.  He came by the station for something, and said he would see him this weekend.  You’re going to be all alone.  What are you going to do?”
“Are you asking to stay all weekend?” He slowly unbuttons his shirt, and you gaze down at his body.  He looked like he was carved from marble.  He gives you a quick shrug, and looks down at your throbbing pussy.  You wanted it.  After today you needed it all  weekend.  You needed to forget.  Desiring nothing more than to push away the despair that you felt deep in your chest.  You felt it was truly over, and there was nothing that could save you and Jack, so why not let him give you a mindless weekend?
“I could make you my own personal fuckdoll for the weekend.  Use you for my pleasure, but if you think I’m talented with my tongue, you’ve not seen anything,” his pants were undone, but he wanted you to wait.
Leaning over you, making you feel his hardened cock on your weeping cunt, he fully rips off your shirt.  “There’s no need for clothes.  We’ll have food delivered, and then I’ll walk away, and we forget this ever happened.  I never stay long.”
“Just until Jack calls to bring Finn back.  And!” He cocks up an eyebrow, waiting to see what stipulation you come up with.  “You have to make me pass out.”
“Oh, darling, are you hurting that bad?” Even though you smile, it never reaches your eyes.  Still hovering over your body, he starts kissing on your skin. Making a trail of bruises along your collarbone, while he rolls his hips into you.  “If I make you pass out, you become my dumb baby the rest of the weekend?”
“Yes,” you whine, palming him over his pants.  “Yes, you make me pass out.  I’m yours all weekend.”
He sits back, and quickly reaches into his pocket, grabbing out a foil packet, and tears it with his teeth.  Spitting the small part out with a puff of air.  It was like watching a ballet the way he finished undressing, and rolls the condom on his long cock.  Everything was so precise, and almost beautiful.  You had never found the action of putting on a condom to be sexy, but he was proving you wrong.
Jerking you down to him, he spits down at your puffy and spread pussy.  Rubbing on your swollen clit, before slapping it a few times, making your body jolt with excitment.  In one swift motion, he pushes into your tight channel, not stopping even when he’s fully entered.   Pulling back out, he starts rolling his length into you.  Much too slow and steady of a pace for you at the moment, “Harder.”
“You want harder for the first time?”
“I said, harder,” you growl, grabbing ahold of his tight ass, shoving him even deeper into you.  He grabs your legs and lifts them up.  Putting them in the same direction as your head.  Vigorously fucking into you, and you mewl out his name.  The prettiest and most desperate sounds spew out of your mouth, and he goes harder.  “Yeah!  Yeah!”
“Oh, you’re going to be bruised and sore when this weekend is done.”
“Give it to me.  And Don’t stop.”
“I won’t,” letting your legs rest on his shoulders, he grabs onto your hands on the headboard, “So you into choking?  Can I choke you?  Or are you going to swallow my spit?”
“Just fuck me!  Ahh!” He was hitting all the right spots, even if he did talk a lot.  Demanding your body, much like he demanded a room.  Nick was cocky for a reason, and you couldn’t wait to find all those reasons.  “I’m gonna cum.”
“I can tell.  Fuck!  Got me in a fucking vice grip.  Go on.  Let’s see how many times you cum before you pass out,” as your walls flutter around you, he removes one hand to grip to your neck.  Adding a bit more pressure, until you pussy clenches down on him, and he releases you.  “There’s one.”
Tumblr media
You give Nick a dopey smile as he feasts on your cunt.  He seemed to favor this the most.  Running your fingers through his hairs as you bite your lip.  His scratchy beard and tongue had made you raw in the best way.  You had convinced Jack to keep Finn Sunday night and just take him on to school Monday easily.
And this is how you woke up.  With Nick dragging your body down the soiled bed, and shoving his mouth into your worn cunt while he kneeled in the floor.  He kept his promise of keeping you dumb.  It was the most peaceful weekend you could remember in months.
His tongue enters into your sore pussy, while his nose stimulates your clit.  You were wrecked in the best possible way.  Thankful to have Mondays off, so you could enjoy this.  Condom wrappers were discarded throughout the floor, and after a long nap, you knew this room needed the deepest of cleans, but right now it was just Nick drowning in your juices.
You give his damp hair a quick tug at the roots, clearly, he had already showered.  Your fingers run up the back of his head, putting him as close to you as possible.  His hands were fondling your tits.  Pinching at your nipples when the spring in your tummy winds up.  The number of times you had came this weekend was unknown.  The amount of times you passed out was a mystery.  But right now that sweet high runs through your body, and a bright light blinds you momentarily.  Waking up only for Nick to run his tongue up your slit.  Gathering all your sweet honey, and moaning with satisfaction..
“If ever you need to forget, you’ve got my number,” he smirks as he struts out of your house.  You breathe harshly for a moment.  Letting your body come down from your high, before closing up the room that stenched of filthy sex.  Walking into your own where you grab one of Jack’s shirts, and carry it into the bathroom.  You needed a soaking hot bath to ease your aching muscles, and aspirin.
You weren’t sure if now you felt better or worse.  Feeling as if you crossed a line with one of Jack’s co-workers.  You dip your body into the warm water slowly, groaning until your ass hits the bottom.  Leaning back, and sighing.  At this moment.  You really didn’t care.
——
Jack watches Nick as he struts into the precinct break room.  Getting unnecessarily close to him to make coffee, when Jack smells it.  A mixture of your favorite shampoo, and the undeniable scent of you.  He had left it on himself plenty of times to know.  Nick brings the mug up to his mouth with a smirk, giving Jack a wink.
“Fowler,” Cal nods his head to get his own coffee.  “How was your weekend?”
“It was rough.  I stayed in the house all day, soaking wet.”
“You do a new workout?” Cal asks, grabbing out a water bottle.
“Oh, I was definitely working something out.  All weekend long,” he sticks his finger in his mouth, and pulls it out with a pop.  “Still taste that sweet honey on my fingers.  Of course.  My fingers were very busy, having them in the honey pot over and over again.”
“You son of a bitch,” Jack growls out.
“What?  Is there something wrong?  Did I say something?”
“That’s why she wanted Finn to stay another night?” He slams his mug in the sink, and it shatters into thousands of pieces.  “You tell her how you like to brag about your sexual conquests?”
“It’s just sex.  Just hot, wet, throbbing, trembling, screaming, squirting flesh,” Jack lurches towards Nick, but Cal wraps his arms around his whole body.
“Jack, he’s an asshole,” Nick chuckles as he walks out the room, and Jack attempts to push Cal off of him.  “That’s not gonna work, you realize that, yes?”
“Get off me!”
“You almost punched your colleague.  Jack, the divorce is in the system.  She didn’t do anything wrong.  If she feels the need to sleep with a loser that won’t ever walk through her door again, that’s her prerogative.”
“It’s my fault,” Cal nods his head, grimacing, “No…we got in a fight when I picked up Finn.  She told me she was done.”
“Let her be done,” Jack shakes his head no, still refusing to even let that be an option.  “Then let her explore this time.  Maybe she needed it,” Jack looks up at Cal growling, and he backtracks.  You didn’t need Nick.  “If you want her, it’ll take more than telling her.  It’ll take time.”
“Finn says she still sleeps in my shirts.  What am I supposed to do with that?  I can’t…I can’t shake the feeling this is really it.”
“You want her back?  Work for it.  What did you do, agree to therapy after the divorce was filed?  It should have been your chance to make it work to begin with.  It’ll take more than that, and you know.  Expect more of these one off guys, buddy.  She’s turning into a buck wild woman again, and if she’s still sleeping in your shirts, maybe she’s trying to convince herself she doesn’t love you.  But you gotta work.  And work hard if you want to be with her.  Get ready for the ride of your life.  Because that’s two men you know she’s slept with.  Deal with it the best you can, but don’t give Nick what he wants.  He’s been hard up on her for a long time.”
“She didn’t want me to call her Sharkie,” Jack looks down at the floor, giving the disgusting wood a few taps with his boot.
“Jack, that’s your nickname for her from your first…hell, your first time sleeping with her.  That name represents the best part of your relationship.  Of course she doesn’t want you to call her that.  It hurts her.  Now, go clean up that mess, we’ve got paperwork to do.  And by we, I mean you.  You need your mind busy.  You’re gonna need that for a while,” Cal leaves Jack to clean up his coffee mug shards, but all he can do is picture you alone in your once shared bed, holding his pillow, and wearing his shirt.  If Finn saw you like that, it was true, and that hurt him more than anything.
The reality of just how much he had hurt you was becoming stifling to him.  He didn’t deserve you, and yet, he wanted to prove at least to himself that he tried.  Try to be the man that you deserve.  And tried with everything he could to get his family back.  He had to.  But he also knew Cal was right.  And your dates had only just begun.  And he hoped that this was the last one he knew about.  Because he couldn’t handle flashes of their hands on your body, the same body that he once called his.

new arrivals 11-17-17
stormy records13306 michigan avedearborn, mi 48126 313-581-9322 the holiday season is about to be here. we're looking forward to helping you all find thoughtful musical artifacts to bring joy to you and yours. stop by and talk turkey - literally - while looking over all the great items in the shop!! new arrivals for 11-17-17 HAINO/JIM O'ROURKE/OREN AMBARCHI, KEIJIThis Dazzling, Genuine "Difference" Now Where Shall It Go?  2LP  $34.99Black Truffle presents the eighth full-length release from the trio of Keiji Haino, Jim O'Rourke, and Oren Ambarchi. Over the course of four LP sides, the October 2014 concert documented here ranges from rock power trio dynamics to maelstroms of analog electronics. Once again, the three demonstrate their commitment to pushing into new areas of instrumental exploration and group interaction. Where their previous releases featured extended vocal workouts from Haino, his vocalizations here are restricted to the occasional impassioned cry, putting the focus squarely on instrumental interplay. More than ever before, this feels like the work of three equals, with O'Rourke or Ambarchi taking the lead role as often as Haino does. The four pieces presented here each focus on extended development. The first side is propelled by Ambarchi's busy, Jack DeJohnette-esque cymbal and tom work, which provides a skittering yet insistent pulse over which Haino and O'Rourke's FX-saturated strings rise and fall, momentarily converging for passages of near stasis before wandering through areas of gently sour discord; O'Rourke's use of a six-string bass here boosts the harmonic density of the music and often makes his contribution difficult to distinguish from Haino's guitar. On the second side, O'Rourke uses his pedals to make his bass near unrecognizable, generating a squelching, harmonically unstable riff that Ambarchi accompanies with a semi-martial snare pattern. Haino moves between frenetic octave-doubled fuzz riffing and streams of feedback. The third side is the most abstract; Continuing Haino's explorations of new instruments, the side opens with a long passage of toy piano. Alongside occasional vocal interjections from Haino (singing in English), Ambarchi creates delicate textures on cymbals and metallic percussion while O'Rourke, for the first time in this group, performs on the EMS Synthi. With Haino joining in with his own electronics, the side eventually builds to a chaotic climax. Beginning with a sequence of "fourth world" drums and flute, the final side unfolds an epic build-up over a hypnotic foundation of pounding toms. Moving from flute to vocals to electronics, Haino eventually picks up the guitar in the second half of the piece, igniting a spectral blur over driving rhythms from bass and drums that eventually builds to a frenzied climax. Cover image by Traianos Pakioufakis; Live action pics by Mike Kubeck. LP design by Stephen O'Malley; Gatefold sleeve. Mastered and cut by Rashad Becker at Dubplates & Mastering. GORDON, JOHNErotica Suite  LP  $25.99Everland Jazz present an official reissue of John Gordon's Erotica Suite, originally released in 1978. One of the rarest albums on Strata-East Records. a great later label effort under the leadership of trombonist John Gordon -- with work by James Spaulding on alto and flute, John Miller on piano and keyboards, Waymond Reed on trumpet, Lyle Atkinson on bass, and Frank Derrick on drums and bells; The whole thing has a very spiritual feel, and it features the long "Erotica Suite", plus "Ora Lee Tingle", "Blue Na", and "Neleh". Licensed by Strata-East Records. GAINSBOURG & JEAN-CLAUDE VANNIER, SERGELes Chemins De Katmandou  LP  $29.99After decades in the making, Finders Keepers present the first-ever pressing of Serge Gainsbourg's most elusive and coveted soundtrack studio recordings, co-written, arranged, and orchestrated by the genius Jean-Claude Vannier (the arranger behind 1971's Histoire De Melody Nelson) during what many consider to be the dynamic duo's most definitive creative period. Believed to have been lost in a studio fire by Gainsbourg enthusiasts for over forty years (a myth that also shrouds Morricone's lost Danger Diabolik soundtrack), the misplaced master-tapes for the drug-fueled/Mai 68 cash-in/road-movie Les Chemins De Katmandou (1969) have been widely considered the final audio jigsaw piece in an immaculate discography/filmography, thus earning this soundtrack bona fide holy grail status amongst the most avid disc detectives. Featuring the original crack team of Paris based players now recognized as French library music royalty, this album epitomizes the inimitable musical direction and expert psychedelic pop musicianship that graced classic Gainsbourg/Vannier soundtracks like La Horse (1970), Cannabis (1970), and Sex Shop (1972), the sound that laid the stylistic, future-proof foundations for subsequent decades of forward-thinking Gallic funk mastery. Comprising Vannier's signature recipe of thick plucked bass lines, close-mic'd drums, biting clavinet, and Eastern influenced strings and percussion (and a sprinkling of subtle traditional French instrumentation) the soundtrack to Les Chemins De Katmandou ("The Road To Katmandu", or "The Pleasure Pit") captures Vannier and Gainsbourg in the first year of their creative partnership capturing their unique embryonic energy. The music on this record contains the full extent of the music found on the newly discovered studio tapes. It has since been preserved through the "baking" process, re-emulsified, transferred, remastered, and recompiled and sequenced in accordance with the original screenplay in close collaboration with Finders Keepers and inaugural artist, Jean-Claude Vannier. BAKER/SIMON GOFF/THOR HARRIS, AIDANNoplace  LP  $29.99Noplace is an improvised collaboration between Aidan Baker (Nadja, Caudal, B/B/S/), Simon Goff (Molecular, Bee & Flower), and Thor Harris (Swans, Shearwater, Thor & Friends). Having known each other for a number of years and previously contributed to one another's recordings, this trio finally came together as a whole on May 7th, 2017 at Redrum Studios in Berlin. In a short, improvised session of just a few hours, they set about laying down as much material as possible which was then subsequently edited and re-worked (without overdubs) to form this album. The same evening the trio played together as part of a nine-piece Thor & Friends ensemble which also included Christopher Hefner (on musical saw) whose artwork graces the cover of the record and gave it its name. Noplace is a hypnotic and deep listen. Kinetic rhythms pulsate throughout whilst the guitar and violin jostle and weave around the metronomic beats, creating a cathartic and all-encompassing experience. The very nature of the instrumental repetitions gives it an immediate avant/krautrock feel but the whole record is coated in a wonderful psychedelic atmosphere that's both melodic, textured, and innovative. Without doubt a perfect marriage and the sum of its parts. You would be forgiven for thinking Noplace took years to craft, but that's testament to three excellent musicians who have produced a real treat of a record. Broken down into seven pieces, but best enjoyed as a thrilling whole, Noplace is a powerful and highly addictive album. File under: avant/krautrock/improv/experimental. Artwork by Christopher Hefner. Mastered by Lawrence English. Includes download code; 180 gram vinyl; Edition of 500. KONSTRUKT & KEIJI HAINOA Philosophy Warping, Little By Little That Way Lies A Quagmire  LP  $23.99Turkish free jazzers Konstrukt and the Japanese avant-garde/noise icon Keiji Haino present their first collaboration album. Formed early 2008 in Istanbul, Konstrukt have since been gaining high reputation and an ever-growing audience within European improvised music circles. Over the past decade, the Turkish free jazzers not only released a couple of superb albums under their own name -- they also regularly invite significant musicians like Peter Brötzmann, Joe McPhee, William Parker, Akira Sakata, Marshall Allen, Evan Parker, Thurston Moore, Michael Zerang, Alfred Harth, or Alexander Hawkins for recording sessions and/or concerts (a.o. at festivals like A L'arme, .Konfrontationen Nickels-Dorf, Krakow Jazz Autumn). Their latest work A Philosophy Warping, Little By Little That Way Lies A Quagmire sees Konstrukt team up with Keiji Haino -- and besides all the elements you may well expect from such a musical meeting like Konstrukt's "acerbic razor-edged sound" (Mark Corroto, All About Jazz) and Haino's unmistakable voice/guitar explosions, there's also some real surprises... Personnel: Korhan Futacı - alto and tenor saxophones, zurna, kaval, sipsi, instant loops, voice; Umut Çaglar - Moog (MicroMoog), Korg (X-911), gralla, bamboo flutes, xylophones, percussion, tape echo, Vermona (Retroverb); Berkan Tilavel - Nord (Drum2), electronic percussion, tef, cymbal; Erdem Göymen - drums, cymbals, percussion; Keiji Haino: electric guitar, percussion, voice, airsynths. Cover painting "Escape" by Artur Trojanowski. Recorded and mixed by Ozan Öner at Pür Recording Studio, Istanbul. Mastered by Rashad Becker at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin. SUN RA & HIS ARKESTRAFeaturing Pharaoh Sanders And Black HaroldLP  $29.99"'To understand the significance of the word 'featuring' on Featuring Pharoah Sanders And Black Harold, consider how infrequently Sun Ra used it and the exact way it had been used. The October Revolution in Jazz, organized by Bill Dixon in the West Village in 1964, presented a vivid cross section of approaches to the new music, including a sextet led by Ra. For the October Revolution's continuation, titled Four Days in December, held at nearby Judson Hall on the last days of 1964, the Arkestra performance presented Pharoah Sanders as well as a flautist (who was and remained obscure thereafter) named Harold Murray, nicknamed Black Harold. It wasn't until long after Sanders had achieved worldwide acclaim with John Coltrane that Ra and manager Alton Abraham decided to issue the music they'd recorded at Judson Hall. After its first release in plain or hand-decorated covers in 1976, Featuring Pharoah Sanders And Black Harold remained an exceptionally rare item in the El Saturn discography, known to a few lucky collectors. We're lucky to have this glimpse of what Sanders sounded like in such a different context, galvanizing the large group and in turn being inspired to make his first significant contribution on record.' --John Corbett (excerpt from the liner notes)" PROGETTO MORTEProgetto MorteLP  $25.99In 1995, Marco Corbelli shaped an interesting side-project, Progetto Morte, in collaboration with Walter Piano. The outcome of these twisted minds was a tape with the same title of the project recorded at Corbelli's home on June 10, 1995 and released the same year on Slaughter Productions with a booklet with the lyrics of the seven tracks, wrote by Walter Piano in Italian, and with the first Progetto Morte proclamation (translated in English too) revealing the nihilistic concept of this new alliance: the total sense of no-existence. The tracks on cassette are monolithic machines of industrial death that are portrayed in lovingly, grating, and rasping detail, with engines of soul rapine and pulsating, paranoid words eager to slice their way through soft flesh. The putrescence is tangible, and one could almost smell and taste the miasma of decay that pervades the entire vinyl. A blood and thunder, bass-heavy assault on the senses. Cold and surgical power electronics inspired by death, diseases, and suicide. Reprinted for the first in LP, tracks were remastered from the original tapes. Comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve; Includes booklet with lyrics (in Italian) and flyer from the first USA concert in 1996; Black inner sleeve; 140 gram vinyl; Edition of 199. PATHAK, PANDIT ASHOKAncient Court Raga Traditions  CD $13.992017 repress. Subtitled: The Pathak Gharana, Dhrupad Ragas On Surbahar. Performed by Pandit Ashok Pathak (surbahar). Ancient Court Raga Traditions is comprised of two long tracks: "Raga Malkauns" and "Raga Bagesri," recorded in 2000. Only part of India's noblest classical instrumental traditions have been adequately documented on recordings, beginning with sitarist Imdad Khan in 1905. With the compact disc, raga performances could expand from pioneering 4-minute excerpts on 78 rpm discs to span well beyond an hour on CD, allowing full development and style to unfold. One vital court style remains in a fragmentary way: the ancient art of dhrupad, characterized by slowly singing and playing, which favored the arrhythmic alap section, based on the ancient Vedic chant. Too few of these family-based traditions survived the ending of royal patronage. Amongst them are the Pathaks, representing a musical lineage through 5 generations of dhrupad singers, veena players and sitarists, with the current generation including a composer and tabla player. Balaram Pathak introduced the use of harmonics on sitar with meend, heard on his one CD. This unique practice has been further explored by (his son) Ashok, who uses it extensively, along with thematic playing on the sympathetic strings. Before beginning a raga, he dwells on these strings, at times playing two simultaneously, creating harmonies which he adopted after having heard it in pre-Renaissance Western music (in polyphonic works by Perotin, Josquin des Prez, etc.). The recording took place over two afternoons. Each raga was played through once and without any changes or edits, and the decision was made to play "Raga Malkauns" on the second afternoon. As Balaram Pathak recorded one short work on surbahar, these performances further reveal the rare court tradition Pandit Ashok represents, its continuation despite the odds of a diminishing public which prefers khyal, and the musical contributions made by the performer himself to further their lineage. A/N:  so I got an ask about Jack and reader in the beginning, and this was originally going to be a drabble...but it didn’t turn out to be.  These two are something else, but at least it gives you an insight as to what they’re fighting for, and their sweetest stage of the beginning of the relationship.

You take a sip of your beer as your eyes roam the bar, dumped again by a jerk who wasn’t worth your time, but now here you sit on a Friday night with your best friend TJ scoping out the bar, “Why are we here?” You whine looking up at him.
“You said you wanted to get laid.”
“Did not,” before you can even pout, TJ covers your face with his hand. Already spotting a man he had been eyeing again.
“Being seen with you is not helping my game.”
“Fine, then leave me,” he turns, looking at you, narrowing his eyes, and starts shaking his head. “We came here for me to find someone as desperate as me to have sex, and go on about our lives, but now you’re eye fucking some hot man at the bar.”
“Guilt tripping?”
“Yep,” you answer, popping the p. “Find me a man.”
“That one,” he points out quickly, and you turn to glare at him. He wasn’t your type at all. “Are you looking to get fucked or looking to get married?”
“Why not both?”
“No!” He playfully bonks you on the head. “You don’t marry the first guy you see at a bar.”
“I’m not interested in the first guy. Find me another,” you look back at the bar to see the man you actually were sizing up. He was just your type. A bit rugged, drank beer, boots, leather, and one that kept looking back at you. Confused as to why you were checking him out when you clearly had a man with you.
“Fine, then why don’t you go talk to Mr. Mysterious and his giant friend.”
“I am not interested in the giant friend.”
“No, you’re interested in a man that looks like he has ten layers on,” you give him a whack to his arm, but look the man up and down again. You couldn’t see, but it looked like he had a cute ass. He gives a stretch, and another look over at you before his friend and him go over to the pool tables. “Don’t look at his ass.”
“A good ass is the way to my heart,” you respond, lifting up off your chair, and yes, a perfectly rounded tush. “I want that.”
“Go get that. One night,” getting in front of you, TJ puts both hands on your shoulder, “I know you. One night.”
“Or…”
“No! Down girl. One night.”
“I was going to say, all night, next morning, and all weekend,” he rolls his eyes and shakes his head, “TJ, you’re killing my game.”
“This…this is your problem. One night turns into you doing sweet things for them. Leaving your little crumbs that you were with them. I swear you wipe your pussy juice on their shit, because they can’t get enough of you. That or you're a freaky thing in bed, and quite frankly I don’t want to know which is correct. But then they chase you around, and you love it, but when you give them nothing in return, they retreat, and you chase, but it’s not fun for you, and your texting and calls happen less frequently until they break up with you.”
“Are you writing a book on my dating?” Slapping his hand on his face, he pulls it down. “That is not…no, I don’t do that. I don’t wipe my pussy juice on anything.”
“They become obsessed with you, until they don’t. Explain.”
“I would say that you could sleep with me, and find out, but I’m not your type,” you start walking away and over to the man with his giant friend.
“I tried! The thought of touching that made me vomit.”
“Shh,” you whisper as you get closer. Grabbing up a pool cue, and playing the dumb girl. TJ groans, because he’s seen this a few times as well. He sits down at the bar, ordering another drink for him, and a beer for you.
Just like clockwork, you pick out a cue, but somehow a few fall to the ground, “I’m sorry,” your whiney voice. He wasn’t going to fall for it. Even Daphne the bartender snickers watching the show. She’s seen it, too. “Oh,” you stop standing up as the man you had been ogling for an hour comes to your rescue. “Thank you. I’m such a clutz,” standing up you get to finally see his eyes, and he was exactly your type.
Bright, and almost innocent looking. “It’s okay. You play?”
“Yes,” TJ and Daphne answer together, but of course you shake your head no.
“I don’t even know how to stack the balls,” another play. Say things that could possibly turn into a crude twelve year old boy joke, make them sweat, while they try to be as polite as possible.
“Why hasn’t your boyfriend taught you?”
“Boyfriend?” You give him a smile, and look over at TJ, “That is my best friend. He’s gay. While he might be someone who I would go after, he’s been looking at that man right there,” thankfully you always knew when to help TJ out. Giving him the go ahead to leave you be.
“You wanna play with us?” Jack grabs a stick, and places it in your hand, “Seems you’re losing your best friend.”
“Will you teach me?” Daphne doesn’t even pop the top of your beer. You were in your zone. Jack timidly grabs your hand, and leads you to the table him and his friend were playing at. Introducing him as Callum, and nervously realizing he never got your name.
It’s easy to pretend you didn’t know what you were doing when Jack actually did know how to play. Jack wasn’t a dummy, though. He had caught you a few times slightly shaking your head at the plays that Cal had made. Well, if you wanted him close to you, he was going to make sure that you got what you wanted.
Leaning over your body completely, and holding your hand, every time it was your turn. His mouth was right at your neck as he whispers directions on what to do. His front was pressed completely to your back, and you could feel what he was hiding under those loose clothes. His arms were huge, and you had a desire to have them wrapped around your neck, or even ripping your legs apart.
Jack chuckles behind your ear, as his lips brush against your heated and tingly skin. You arch your back, and push your ass more into him, and he softly moans in your ear, “What’s wrong, Jack?”
“Nothing. Just,” his voice was silky, and the way he was speaking made a flood of slick rush to your core.
“How much have you had to drink?”
“Just a beer, why?”
You peek back at him after you hit the cue ball yourself. His eyes were just as black as your own. You were adults, and there was no need to deny your urges. “You could drive us to your place?”
“Yep,” he says quickly, standing up and looking at Callum, “I’m calling it a night,” he raises his eyebrows, while Cal looks between the two of you. His shoulders falling.
“We’re not finished yet.”
“Yeah, well, I’m tired. I’ll call you sometime tomorrow,” Cal watches as Jack pulls you towards the door, but TJ bolts to the exit, and stands there. “What?”
“I need an address. Real one. What is it that you do? I know karate, and know how to use a gun.”
Jack gives him his address, and pulls out his wallet. His ID shares the same address as he told TJ, and even shows his police badge, “There’s the badge number. You’re killing the mood.”
“As long as you’re not killing her, I really don’t care,” you can’t help but giggle at your overprotective bestie. Following Jack out to his car.
“How far away?”
“Ten minutes,” you give him a pout, but Jack reaches over, and lays your seat down a bit.
“What are you doing?” You squeak out.
“Since I’m so far away, how about you let me play with your pussy.”
Oh!”
“I’m sorry…is this where this was going? If I misread all this, I am,” you unbutton your jeans, and slide your hand down your front, pulling it out to show Jack just how soaked you were, “How does it taste?”
Slipping your fingers in your mouth, you moan at your taste, “Good enough for me,” his hands dip under your pants, and for a man that had only just met you, he seemed to know what you liked. Teasing at your clit. Giving enough stimulation, but never too much. He didn’t want you to cum on his fingers, he selfishly only wanted his dick to feel you clench around him.
Both of you knew this was just a one night deal. You were aware that this wasn’t serious, but you enjoyed it. Your body rocks with his ministrations as he pulls into his garage. You looked almost too pretty like this to even want to get out of the car, until he finally pushes two fingers into your neglected hole. Pumping them in and out of you, and you were sensitive. Whimpering out his name, and your walls start to flutter. God, he hoped this wasn’t a quick encounter.
Grabbing at his hand, you pull him out of your pants, and bring his fingers to your mouth. Sucking off your arousal, before smiling at him, “I think you have something better than your fingers, huh?” Looking down at his jeans, he readjusts himself again, but he couldn’t hide how hard he was. “Show me the bedroom.”
Jack struggles to find the door handle, and helps you out. Your mouth slams onto his, while he walks backwards into his house. Pushing aside any item that was out of place with his foot, before the two of you were dropping onto the bed. Becoming a mess of sloppy kisses, wandering hands, and flying clothes until he was crawling over you.
Settling himself in between your thighs, and pushing them further apart with his legs. His tip runs up and down your slit as he gathers your slippery juices on his cock. One night stands were rarely this personable. He was staring only at you as he slowly enters into your wet heat. His cock stretched you out beautifully. He was thick, his mushroom tip guiding him deeper, and you could feel every ridge and vein on his cock as they sunk into your pussy.
It was like he was made for you, because he hit every spot inside of you. Picking up your hands he holds them over your head as he bottoms out. You let out a desperate moan, wrapping your legs around his waist, you pull him even closer, “Can’t get enough of me, huh?”
“I want to feel your entire weight on me,” he lets go of your hands, and holds himself up with his forearms. Slowly pulling himself out completely, before he drills back into you. Making you yip as his tip grazes your cervix. Leaning down he gives you a filthy kiss while his thrusts become harder. His speed picks up, but still he wants to take time with you. Watching every change your face makes as you slip into pure unadulterated pleasure.
Fingers grip tight to his back as your jaw goes slack, letting him feel every heated breath coming out of you. You scream out his name as your walls clench down tight around him. His hips push him deeper into your weeping cunt, until the dam breaks, and you gush on him. Throwing your head back as a deep guttural moan releases from the both of you. You don’t want him to pull out, but you know you should.
He pulls out and barely makes it with his spunk coating your mound, and he lays his forehead on yours, panting. “You want me to call a cab?”
“Shh,” he whispers. “Shh, just…shh,” Jack doesn’t want you going anywhere. He wants to keep you here all night. “When I get horny again, can…”
“Please?” He chuckles at your answer, and leans back to look at you. His calloused fingers pet over your face.
“Where did you come from?”
“The bar.”
“Well, how about you stay here tonight,” he pulls himself off of you, and his naked ass walks into the bathroom, and you still think he has the cutest tush. Coming back with a cloth where he cleans himself off you. “And when one of us gets horny, just, have at it?”
“Just for tonight?”
“You want to make this a regular thing, Sharkie?” You curl your nose up looking at him. “What? You want me to believe you didn’t actually know how to play pool? Even the bartender was laughing at you. You gonna play me and leave, Pool Sharkie?”
“Never.”
Tumblr media
Callum follows Jack out to his car, and gets in, and immediately starts laughing, “What?” He asks as Callum lifts up a pair of your panties, “Yeah, about that…I have no explanation.”
“You see her every night?”
“When you get to spend most of the night fucking, yeah. Yeah, she can come over whenever she wants to.”
“And you go see her?” He asks, holding your lacy underwear up with two fingers before Jack swipes them from him, tucking them safely in his pocket.
“TJ prefers her to be here at my place. He says we're loud,” Callum slaps at his partner's shoulder laughing. “What?”
“You’re falling for the girl.”
“I’m falling for her pussy.”
“You’ve been drunk fucking her.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Jack scowls looking at Callum, who shrugs his shoulders. “No, spill it.”
“I’m sure Mrs. O’Malley would love to hear that her alter boy was fucking a townie every night. Unprotected?”
“Man, shut up. I pull out.”
Tumblr media
You pace around the bathroom, while TJ just stares at the test. Waiting for anything to change, “Have you ever heard of condoms?”
“Yes, Teej. Things just…happened. He pulls out.”
“Yeah, well, your lack of a period is proving that’s a bad idea. Like…when was your last one?” You give him a shrug the last couple of months were a blur. “Seriously?”
“I’ve had at least one. Never had someone who wanted to have sex during my period either. If you could do it, I would highly suggest it.”
“Does he even take you out?” You give him a little swat on his arm. TJ knew that Jack took you out, you just didn’t stay out long. “Honey,” he looks down at the test and then back at you. “You and Jack need to have a talk.”
“Shut up. Shut up,” picking up the test, you throw it into the trash, and reach for another one. “I’m going to test again. That one was a lie.”
“And if that one is positive?”
“Then I’ll test until it’s negative.”
“That’ll be a few months, honey,” you scream, as you sit down on the toilet, letting your head rest in your hands. “It’s not that big of a deal. If you don’t want to say anything to Jack, we’ll go to a clinic. He never has to know.”
“I would know,” you look back up at him, and TJ squats down, “You know, all these failed relationships…I never…never mind.”
“Tell me. Because, I already know. You were reckless with sleeping with men. You get tested regularly to make sure you’re safe, but after a few months of sleeping with people you never cared if they came in you. You wouldn’t care if they left you if you were pregnant, because you wanted to be a mom. Those tests under your sink aren't because you’re scared, they’re in hopes of an actual positive test, and now that one is, you’re wondering if Jack is going to leave you or stay.”
“I hate you,” you pull him close to you, and rest your chin on his shoulder. “I could do it, you know? Be a single parent, I could do it.”
“I know. You just don’t want to. You want that nucleus family. If he doesn’t want the baby…I’ll be a good uncle,” you hiccup through your tears, clinging to him more. “I’ll take you to your appointments, because I know you want a baby. You want a child, so just…talk to Jack. You actually talk right? Or is it just moaning?”
“Yes, we talk. He loves Italian food.”
“Wow. I’m glad you know so much about your baby daddy.”
Tumblr media
“So…you’re sure, sure?” You nod your head as you look at Jack go through all the emotions. “And where…what…I wanna give you the choice. This is your decision. It won’t affect me,” your eyes go wide at him, and you start to stand, pissed off at the audacity, “I mean, you’re the one that changes. Not me. You’re the one that has to deal with the strain and taking off work.”
“Do you want to be a part of the baby’s life?”
“Yes. But,” his hand goes behind his neck, and he ruffles his hair, grimacing at you. “I can’t tell my mom.”
“What?” This was all very confusing that he couldn’t tell his mom. He was a grown man, and eventually whether he told her or not, you would show that you were pregnant. If he wanted to be apart of the baby’s life, eventually his family would see you.
“She would die if she knew I was having sex without a ring on my hand. She’ll want this traditional husband and wife when it comes to children, and I can’t…I don’t want to do that to her.”
“What are you suggesting? Me turning up after the baby is born?”
“No. It’s crazy…it just is. I’m not suggesting anything,” he can’t even look at you while he talks. But it’s like nonsense over and over again. “I mean, eventually I’d like to think we got there, but to suggest it now, seems dumb. But I want to be in the baby’s life and yours. And I don’t want the baby to be the family secret and…it’ll happen sooner or later, so why not sooner.”
“What are you asking?”
“It’s crazy, so don’t freak out, but…we should get married,” you stare at him stunned, because this wasn’t at all where you thought he was taking this conversation. Never believed he would try to commit that much. There was a baby, and now there was a proposal of sorts. “I shouldn’t have said that.”
“If we’re married you would…I mean your parents wouldn't freak out about the baby?”
“Alter boy,” he points at himself. “Ma thinks I’m still her perfect son.”
“So you don’t want to tell her that two people who have known each other for a little over two months that they can’t be in the same room long without fucking or sucking, and now I’m pregnant, but you’ll be okay with telling her we’re married?” It was crazy, but at the same time, you wanted to give it a try, and that made you feel even crazier.
You and Jack had shared a quick relationship, and one built mostly on sex, but it felt right. The moment he entered into you, you felt like he was your future. You tried to make the others work, knowing it never would, but Jack was different. “Okay. This is stupid, but let’s do it. We’ll get married. No wedding. Just…married. Maybe a wedding later, if we make it.”
“When we make it.”
“When,” you add in.
Tumblr media
You slide into the booth, waiting on Jack as well, as you have a nice dinner with Cal and TJ. You were beginning to get uncomfortable and stretched because your growing boy was just getting so big. Jack seemed a bit distant and removed from the pregnancy, and you didn’t know what to make of it.
“You know, I never saw this one with kids,” Callum hums, holding his beer towards Jack. “He’s surprised me.”
“I always knew she was going to become a mom. She wanted it,” you wince, but smile over at TJ, “Everything okay?”
“He’s just moving a lot.”
“I can never feel him,” Jack awkwardly laughs. “I try, but I haven’t ever felt him. TJ has of course,” this was what was bothering him. You pick up your cup, and take a big drink. Waiting on Finn to start rolling around. Pressing your hand on your swollen stomach, and hoping to coax him out of hiding so his daddy could feel him.
Just when you see him push out your stomach, you grab Jack’s hand, and he waits. Getting a bit miffed, until Finn kicks right under his palm. Jack gasps as he looks up at you. Feeling around your stomach for his moving son. “That’s him.”
“It is,” you smile, tears springing in your eyes. For the first time Jack looked so proud of his son. “That’s your son, daddy.”
“Oh,” he moves his hand around, continuing to feel him. “Finn, I have waited months to feel you. It’s like you're really here now.”
“They’re so cute,” TJ whispers up at Cal. “You think they’ll make it,” he didn’t have to be too quiet, because you and Jack were lost in a bubble all on your own. He was so handsome, smiling at your moving boy.
“I think they could. Marriage is hard work though. And they got married quickly, so as not to make their timeline for conception too confusing. But look at him,” Jack leans in to give you a bruising kiss, but keeps his hand on your stomach, a place that it hardly ever left the moment he felt Finn kick. “I’ve known him for a long time, he’s never been happier.”
“Same. I’ve been her bestie since middle school. She pretended to be my girlfriend for a few years. She’s a loyal one. But for whatever reason, that man makes her happy. And apparently, nobody does it better than him.”
“I figured. I’ve found a few panties.”
“She leaves them for him,” Cal looks over at TJ, raising his brow, “Just a reminder of what he gets to come home to. By the way, you need a roommate? Mine got knocked up, married, and left me.”
“Hmm, yeah. I could move in. As long as you don’t mind women coming home with me.”
“I got used to men coming home with her,” Callum holds up a fist, which TJ awkwardly bumps. Looking back at you, before he slaps the table, “Alright, we came here to eat. I don’t want to vomit beforehand. We get it, Finn is precious and sweet. But the pregnant woman needs to eat. No pregnancy sex before dinner.”
“You ruin all the fun,” Jack groans, readjusting his pants, and then pulling you closer. Letting his hand rest on your belly, while he feels his son growing. “But I should feed you. You get angry without food.”
“So do you,” you knock your shoulder into him, before resting a hand over his. It felt right. Like even though you and Jack had rushed into this, it felt like you could do it. Like there wasn’t anything in the world that could stop the two of you. Plus, good sex. But the more time you spent with Jack, the more you grew to love him. And you were doing it together.

“Dad!” Finn says from across the table, still laughing a bit, “And then, Brody, he blocked the shot.  Not everyone saw it, but I got to witness it first hand, and it was awesome,” Jack gives a big smile to Finn, reaching over to rustle his hair, and your son looks over at you with a smile.  “Dinner is delicious, isn’t it dad?”
“Your mom is always a good cook,” he answers immediately.  You thank him, taking a bite of your food.  “Finny, make sure you eat your broccoli.  It’s not that bad.”
“Can you stay the night?” You clear your throat, giving a quick kick to Jack, who looks at Finn unsure of what to say.
“I can, um…well, I can…why don’t we watch a movie until you fall asleep?”
“And then you sneak out?”
“Finn, your dad isn’t sneaking out.  He’s going to his apartment.  Finish your food, and both of you put your things in the dishwasher.  The kitchen is already cleaned up.  So don’t make a mess, but I’m going to take a shower,” Jack says your name quietly, but you shake your head no.  Grabbing your phone off the counter when you go into your room.
Taking a deep breath, and rubbing your hand on your neck.  Things were far too comfortable.  You enjoyed Jack coming over more nights for dinner, but you wondered if it was giving Finn the wrong impression.  It seemed like as of late all you did was make mistakes.
You look at your phone, and smile at the recent selfie from Frank, “Do you think you’ll remarry?” You text him, and throw your phone on the bed, a bit disgruntled that you even sent that.
He responds immediately, and you clamor to grab up the phone, Yes.  Do you want more kids?
Yes.  At least one more, but preferably more.
I’m glad we’ve moved past our likes and dislikes, and we can get into the things that really matter.  Now, have you always wanted to stay here?
Oh, he was good.  Of all the times that you had Frank had been talking, it was casual.  Never deep enough to get to the point that it went into the future, and what you wanted.  But he wanted to get married.  And you told him you wanted more kids.
I’ve always wanted three or four total kids.
You smile looking at your phone, sending him a quick photo of yourself and telling him that was a good number.  Finn runs upstairs to his room, while a shadow looms outside of the bedroom.  It didn’t take a genius to figure out who it was.  “What do you want Jack?”
“Uh, I don’t know.  Maybe to get a few clothes,” he was hiding what he felt, and that was evident to even you.  You weren’t playing games with Jack anymore.  If he had something to say, you would let him say it.  Opening up the door, he smiles walking into the closet, and thankfully doesn’t make a comment about a few of his shirts in the hamper.
“Don’t take that one,” you blurt out as he pulls a hoodie down.  “I’m quite fond of that one.”
“Is this one okay?” He asks, and you grimace.  “Which of my clothes can I take?”
“Jack, this doesn’t have to be so hard.”
“I came in here to take a few things to my apartment.  You’re the one refusing me my clothes.  So tell me what I can get,” if he didn't have that cocky little smile, you would worry that he was being an ass, but with a huff, you walk into the closet with him pulling out a few things that you were willing to part with.
His hand flicks out and touches your thigh, but you keep moving.  Trying to reach up higher to get some of his lounge pants, but couldn’t reach.  “Here,” he says, stepping behind you to lift you up.  It would have been easier for him to reach it himself.  But any excuse to touch you was fine by him.
“Where’s Finn,” you ask, smoothing out your shirt.
“I told him to take a bath.  Your water wasn’t running,” you go and grab up a duffle bag, folding his clothes in there neatly.  “About the other night.”
“It’s not a big deal.  We were married for eight years…”
“We’re still married.”
“What I mean, is sometimes you just react.  It’s fine,” you lie.  You can’t let yourself be vulnerable with him anymore.  You were tired of giving and giving, while he was void of any deep emotions.  You knew that Jack loved you and Finn, you just never heard him say he did often.
“Oh, um…yeah,” he sighs, grabbing another shirt that you had fully intended sleeping in, but you ignore it.  “I think you got the wrong impression.”
“What impression?  That we were about to have sex in a club bathroom stall?  Wouldn’t have been the first time.”
“See, I’m trying to have a serious conversation, okay?  You’re not just flesh to me,” you furrow your brow, looking at him oddly.  “What I mean, I didn’t just want to have sex at the club with you.  That kiss…”
“Jack, we don’t have to do this.  We can continue to go on and…”
“No.  You listen.  I know that you think that all you’ve been for me has been sexual.  That even when I was…you know,” you glare at him.  He couldn’t even say her name.  Couldn’t be blatantly honest, because it painted him as the bad guy.  “When I was choosing to spend my time talking to another woman instead of you,” that came as a shock.  Jack never admitted fault.
“And I would come home late, barely even wake you up, before I was checking to see if you were wet.  If you weren’t I was grabbing lube out of the draw.  Yeah, I screwed up.  I had no emotional connection with you during that time, and I was just…I used you for sex.  You were always right there on our bed.  And you never even complained, you just took it.  I’m sorry.  But that’s not what I wanted that night.  There was….did you feel the sparks?  It was like the first years all over again.”
You wipe at your cheeks, finally getting validation for your feelings during the time that Jack was doing whatever the hell he was doing.  He finally fessed up to it, “You never slept with her?”
“No.  I never kissed that woman.  Have you checked the phone records?  I haven’t even talked to her.”
“For three whole weeks.  That’s progress,” you didn’t want to be short and sarcastic with him, but dammit, him and that woman ruined your relationship.  You were bitter when it concerned their relationship.
“I know.  And I know what you’re doing with the dating.”
“What exactly am I doing, Jack?  I want to know what you think I am doing.”
“Nick?  Dean?  You’re getting with people that you know will get back to me. You’re hurting me because I hurt you.”
An annoyed laugh escapes your mouth, and you put your hands on your temples trying to find the best way to respond, “I didn’t choose Dean.  He asked me out.”
“At our son’s school.  You think that it wouldn’t get back to me?  And Nick Fowler, damn, could you have chosen a bigger asshole?  He fucking sniffed his damn lips that whole first day from being with you.  Sucked on his fingers because they tasted like you.”
“You finished?” You knew there was only a few minutes before Finn would be done with bathing, and coming back down the stairs to watch a movie with Jack, but you had to get this off your chest.  “Dean reminded me how simple love can be.  It’s not about these big strong gestures.  It’s simply spending time with someone.  Nick reminded me what it was like to be put first.  To use sex as something more than you getting off.  Sex is a way to connect with someone.  And before you ask, I have no damn intention of dating either one of them.  Hell, in hindsight, Nick was a very bad idea.  Dean…well, he was more involved in that than I was.”
And neither one of them was Jack.  The man that was standing in front of you that pissed you off more lately than anything.  They were not him.  They didn’t care about your son.  You didn’t care about them.  Not like that.  You weren’t sure if you could ever be fully available to another man emotionally like you were with Jack.  In ways, he had ruined you for other men.
“Just…”
“Jack, I’m tired.  I can’t be that person for you.”
“Ever?”
“Right now.  I’m not changing my mind on the divorce.  I lost myself with you,” you shrug, starting to walk towards the bathroom.  “I gotta find myself again.  Just like you did.  You see all that you’re losing now, but I can’t have you in this relationship only for you to long for something else four years from now.  I wanted you.  I did what I had to do to keep our relationship, outside of sex, alive.  You were checked out that whole time.  You just knew that I was eventually going to take you back.  So you only put a smidgen of effort in the therapy.  You kept talking to that woman, and was coming into our home, and fucking me, then leaving early in the morning.  Instead of her being your dirty little secret, I was.  Because let's face it, you even admitted it, you didn’t even bother with foreplay.  You’d just soak my cunt with lube, before you were jamming your dick in me.  And you wonder why I felt like sex was all we had.”
“I’m sorry,” he says quietly.  “I really am.  That’s all on me.  But…I’m here, and I’m not ready to give up on us or our family.  I know it’s gonna take more than that.  I know that you’re pissed off at me, and you have every right to be.  You’re affording me extra time with our son. Letting me come here and have dinner as a family.  You’re still giving me more than I deserve.  But I am sorry.”
“Thank you,” you whisper.  Not daring to say another word, before you lock yourself into the bathroom.  Waiting until your bedroom door closes once more, and you go back for your phone.  Giving yourself one more chance to match with someone before you see where you and Frank could be headed towards.
Clicking on the first man that you find attractive before you wash it all away.  Letting the hot water scald your skin and you try not to think.  You want to believe Jack.  Wanted to think that he could really be telling the truth this time, but it terrified you.  You weren’t even sure that you were ready for that.  Did you know enough about yourself to forget the past and move on?  But something told you three weeks and a passionate kiss just wasn’t enough to prove to you he had changed.  No matter what you believed.  And you wanted to believe him.
Tumblr media
“Please, tell me you didn’t tell that man where you live,” you look up at TJ shaking your head no.  “So…where did you find this one?”
“That stupid app.  I’m meeting him at the mall.  Do you have a problem with him?”
“He’s smoking in the picture.  You hate cigarettes, and he just looks like bad news.  What happened to Frank?  We like Frank.  Frank sends you nudes.”
“Ugh,” you start, walking past TJ to grab up your coat.  TJ meant well, but he was being too judgey right now.  “Frank and I are still talking.  But…I don’t know if I’m ready for Frank.  And those aren’t nudes.  Frank was covered.  His boxers were just very very low,” you turn your phone around to show him that he was indeed covered.  Grabbing at some boots to put on.
“Why aren’t you ready for Frank?” You shrug, tying up your boots, and start to change the subject.  “No!  I know what you’re doing.  We’ve been friends forever, remember?  No, you’re trying to ignore what I asked you.  Why aren’t you ready for Frank what happened?”
“Jack O’Malley happened.”
“What does that mean?”
“We had dinner,” TJ squeals, but you shake your head.  “It was with Finn.  It wasn’t that serious.  And then it was.  He apologized.  He admitted what he was doing with that woman was wrong.”
“But?” He stands in front of you, resting his hands on your hips, trying to get you to smile, but you look away.  Grabbing your keys, “Why are you being so damn stubborn when it comes to Jack?”
“Because I love him, and he has the ability to do that to me again.  She works at the DA’s office, so it’s not like he can completely avoid her.  I’m afraid that if I give myself to Jack right, before I have discovered me as a woman, outside of his wife, and outside of Finn’s mom, and he does that again, I’ll never recover.  I gave everything to Jack.  And I’m not punishing him!”
“No, you’re punishing yourself.  Tell me, why this guy?  Greasy, smokes, leather, and he rides a bike.  Why him?” You shrug, walking out the door with him.  “You want me to tell you what I think?  I think you enjoy that bad boy side that Jack has.  He likes to drink at Irish pubs, he plays pool, he can have a filthy fucking mouth, and he fucks you like his dirty little whore.  But sweetheart, this man, he’s all bad boy.  Jack has the bad boy vibe with a good guy heart.  This one looks like…trouble.”
“Quit judging him by the way he looks.  He’s hot, no?” TJ nods his head, undenying the man was hot.  “It’s one date.”
“Yeah, only Dean has been able to get past the first date,” you lean over smacking at his leg.  “And I have a date with some cute man that I met at the club.  So are we meeting back at the mall later?”
“Yes.  If you want to stay you can.”
“You’re trying to make an excuse not to bring the bad boy home with you, aren’t you?”
“Yep.”
“You’re dooming this relationship before it starts.  Why are you so incessant about the one date?”
“I want to ride on the back of a Harley with a hot man.  Is that wrong?” He holds up a condom, giving you a smile, “Do you have a stash of condoms everywhere?”
“Yes.  Safety first.  Wrap it before you tap it.  Put on your raincoat.  The last man you had unprotected sex with you ended up married and pregnant.  But sometimes you get something you can’t wash away.  So here, take this.  Just in case, but keep it in your pants.  Aren’t you glad you had it with the DJ?  I was hoping you would have used it on that cop you were dancing with,” pulling into a parking spot, you throw your head back on the seat, whining.  “Was the kiss at least good?”
“It was amazing.  But I need to fully trust Jack before I let him back in, and I don’t right now.  And I don’t want to complicate it with sex, because my heart is in my vagina.  You sleep with me, and I start catching feelings.”
“Nick?  Dean?  The DJ?”
“Dean was a been there done that.  Nick was a one time weekend thing, he was never going to stay around.  And Mickey I don’t even know his last name.  So there’s that.  TJ be safe, and text me if you need me.”
“You be safe.  And just say that you need to get some sprinkle donuts, and I know that this is a code red, and I need to get you out of there.”
“Yes, because you know karate and can shoot a gun,” you smirk, getting out of the vehicle.  You were sure it was going to take a minute before Jax had got there.  You remind TJ that he’s on your gps app just to give him a peace of mind, and kiss him on the cheek goodbye.  Waiting outside and away from your car, because TJ warned you to be cautious with men like Jax.
Little did you know he had already gone snooping through his socials.  Holding onto information just in case.  Ready to alert Jack of everything.  Jack however also had his eye on Jax for very different reasons.
The tall blonde pulls his motorcycle right up beside you.  Giving you a boyish grin as he takes off his helmet, “For you,” he says, holding it out, and giving you a hand to hop on the back.  “You ever rode before?”
“Can’t say that I have.”
“Hold on tight,” he smiles, taking off on the bike.  It was such an odd choice for a date.  Keeping you on the back of a bike, without talking.  You had guessed the few messages you had shared back and forth were enough.  And while it was fun, you weren’t learning anything else new about him.
Tumblr media
Cal lays down a file on Jack’s desk, and he pulls it closer to him, “Where’s Finn?”
“At my mom’s until I get off.  So do we have enough to arrest Teller?”  He goes through some more information, and smiles, “A sting operation?”
“It appears that he’s using girls he meets online to make him look more innocent as he runs the drugs,” Jack looks up at Cal, but shakes his head no.  “What?”
“How’s he meeting them online?”
“Dating site.  Why?”
“Where’s Teller now?  We got eyes on him?  Do we know anything?” Jack slams his hand on the desk, cussing, and choosing to walk out.  But Nick meets him at the door, “What do you want?”
“Teller is on the move again.  We’ve got someone enroute.  He’s got a girl on the back of the bike with him.  So he’s definitely running something.  Anytime he gets pulled over without one, there’s nothing.  You going?”
“Cal, you drive,” Jack says, already bolting out the door.
“He still pissed off about…”
“No,” Cal walks past Nick, letting his shoulder knock him on the way out.  He wasn’t quite sure what Jack was going on about, he just knew he was on a mission.
Tumblr media
Your eyes roam around the road as you cling tight to Jax.  It just didn’t make sense as to why he wanted this to be the date.  You give his belly a few tickles, trying to get his attention, “Why don’t we pull over and get some coffee or something?”
“We will in a bit,” he says with finality.  You try not to question it.  But it was odd.  Like he had ulterior motives, besides a date.
Being married to a cop, you were always on alert.  Watching the cars as they get closer to you.  This was not your idea of fun.  It was like they could just touch you.  Jax weaves in and out of traffic, and you have to whisper in his ear you had a kid and to please stop.  He did, but only for a minute.
“Jax, stop!”
“It’s fine.  I’ve rode longer than I legally could.”
“And I want to make it back home to my son,” it all happened too fast.  Unmarked vehicles start to plank you, and he doesn’t obey the road laws.  Leaving in a flash when you start to get chased by the cars.  “Jax!  Let me off!”
“You’re in it now baby.”
Glancing back behind you, you couldn’t tell who was in the car, you just knew that Jack had to work today.  “My ex is a cop.  Get me off this fucking bike.”
“Not going to jail for you.  Sorry sweetheart,” you glance back around at the cars.  Trying to find anyway that you could get off without getting seriously injured.  Letting this stupid man have you in a chase.  You should have known.  You got an odd feeling when you agreed to this date.
Trust your gut.  No, you had to see where this led to.  Getting far enough away from the cops, you hit his leg, “Let me off now.”
“Don’t have time,” you scream out in frustration, starting to tuck and roll, “You get off this goddamn bike, and we’re going to have a problem.  I’m almost where I need to be, and you can keep your fucking mouth closed.”
His bike slows down, and you start screaming again, “Let me off!  Oooh!” a thick arm wraps around your waist, and you come flying off his seat, crashing into an even larger body while a car drives in front of Jax.  Braking in front of him quickly, and the bike runs into it, with Cal and Jack coming out of the car.  “Let me go,” you scream, looking over to Jack who was too far away.  Reaching out a hand to him, screaming his name.
“You okay?” The arm in question, spins you around to look at you.  “I don’t see anything.”
“Sharkie!”
“Jack!  Jack, I was so scared.  He didn’t want to let me off.  And I was afraid that I was going to have to jump, and I can’t think about that.  We have a son, and…Jack, what…what happened?” Jack grimaces at the man that still hadn’t left your side, but pulls you in close to him.  Resting his chin on your head, and pets at your back.  “What is going on?”
“We need you to take her down to the station.  We have to interrogate her,” Nick groans as Cal cuffs Jax.  “It’s just some routine questions.”
“They can wait,” Jack nearly growls, turning to glare over towards Nick.
“No, they can't, this is procedure.  You, too,” he points at the man.  “What’s your name?”
“Syverson.  Wait, what is this?”
“He was running drugs.  Using women he met on a dating site as a front.  Jack, bring her to the station.  You’re not equipped to ask her anything.  You can question Syverson.  You can meet us back there, right, big guy?”  Nick hands over a card, giving him his number and the precinct address.
Syverson rolls his eyes, taking the card, “Do you need a ride?”
“She can ride with us,” Jack answers quickly, but you still cling to him.  Crying about how scared you were, and all you could think about was getting to your son.
“Your car has a Harley in the side of it,” Jack finally agrees to letting this man take you to the precinct, and he starts leading to the discarded vehicle.
“Where’s Finn?”
“He’s with my parents.  He’s okay.  Come on, I’ll ride in the back with you,” you don’t argue.  Just follow along with him.  Settling beside him in the back seat, you lean over onto his shoulder.
Cal starts putting Jax in the back of Nick’s car smiling, “You picked the wrong one to date.  Woman’s got a tracking app on her phone connected to my partner’s phone, my phone, and even her bestie’s phone.  You realize how easy it was to find you?  And we caught you with enough blow to put you away for a long time,” Jax gives Cal an eat shit grin, but doesn’t say anything.  “Wrong woman.  Should have let her off when she asked.”
“She’s an accomplice.”
“Good try.  She’ll hand over her phone freely.  It will be easy to pin this all on you.  Not to mention your MO of using nice girls as your cover up.  We’ll be talking to you later.”
Tumblr media
“Your story doesn’t even make any sense,” you sling your phone across the desk towards Nick.  Leaning back over on Jack.  “This is highly inappropriate.”
“She answered your fucking questions.  She’s giving you her damn phone.  Go through her messages with Teller.  You were the one who even figured out what he was doing with these women.  But now, you’re questioning her like she’s the criminal?  This is low even for you.  Take the goddamn phone or don’t.  You know he used her just like he used the others.”
“Something just isn’t adding up, Jack.  Teller caught on to being followed.”
“I told you that I told him that I was married to a cop.”
“Getting a divorce from a cop,” Jack hits Nick’s desk, and you stand to leave.  “Where are you going?”
“Am I under arrest Nicholas?” He shakes his head no, looking between you and Jack.  “Then you can’t hold me.  I told you all I knew.  Now give me my phone, so I can get my son, and I can go home.”
“You were on a date.  Isn’t it Jack’s weekend?”
“You son of a bitch!” Jack leans over the desk, pulling Nick’s shirt towards him.  “You have no right!”
“Jack, TJ has my car.  Take me to get our son, and we’re going to the house,” yanking the phone out of Nick’s hands, you head to Jack’s car.  Not stopping to say goodbye to Cal.  You just needed to get home.  Needed to see your son.  Needed to hold your baby, because for a moment you thought you wouldn’t see another day to hold him or see his smiling face.  Leaving him behind was not an option.
Waiting in the main foyer, you see that stupid woman, and turn away from her.  Staring at nothing when Jack heads towards you.  Hand out to capture yours with his own.  Never giving Robyn another look as he guides you to his car.
You don’t want to cry.  Don’t want him to think that seeing her was making you upset, but it was everything.  Whatever today was, the impending divorce, kissing Jack, the meaningless sex that made you feel worse, it was all coming to a head.  And the moment you’re out in the open you let a cascade of tears flow down your face, and Jack pulls you into his chest.
“Shh…”
“Jack, I could have died.  Our son would have been without a mother,” your words turn into sobs.  Neither of you heading to the car now, just letting him hold you for the moment.  He always made you feel so much safer.  “H-h-h-he…he wouldn’t…wouldn’t let me get off.”
“Shh, you didn’t die though.  You’re okay.  You’re okay,” he whispers, giving a tiny kiss to your head.  “I wasn’t going to let anything happen to you.  The moment I saw it was you, I didn’t care about the case.  Neither did Cal.”
“I want to get our son.”
“Okay,” he whispers, pulling you out of his embrace.  You continue to hold onto his hand, just to feel something real.  At this moment you didn’t want to fight the love that he had for his son, but also for you.  You had tried to deny his love.  Saying if he really loved you, he wouldn’t do the things he did.
Tomorrow it might change, but right now, you didn’t want anything but your family…used to be family.  “Jack?”
“Hmm?” He looks over at you with such kindness as his parents' neighborhood comes into view.
“I don’t want you to leave tonight.  I didn’t give Jax our address, but what if…Jack, Finn’s gonna be there, and…please stay?” Your hand goes to hold his on the console, and he could still feel your pulse beating out of your veins.  You was trembling.  “Please?”
“Of course,” he wasn't going to mention the use of our in your sentence.  He didn’t want to leave you and Finn anyways.  He wanted to keep the both of you as safe as possible.  Didn’t want either of you out of his sight.
He didn't even have the car in park before you were running up to his parents house.  Barreling through the door, and dropping to your knees, pulling Finn close to your body, while his mom stares at you confused.  “It’s Jack’s weekend,” she starts, but stops when Jack walks in shaking his head no.
“Mom?” Finn tries to pull you off him, looking at his dad with too many questions in his eyes.  “Mom, what’s going on?”
“We’re gonna take you home,” Finn wasn’t a baby, but you still stand with him in your arms.  Holding onto him like he was.  Kissing on his cheek.
“Mom?  Dad?  What’s going on?”
“Go ahead and take him to the car,” he says softly.  He was close with his mom, and he hadn’t picked up his phone since you had been with him, so you knew that he needed to speak with her.  You carry Finn out to the car, just wanting to look at him.  He looked so much like his father, and to think you almost didn’t get to wake to see his face another day.
“Jackie, what’s going on?”
“She was in a police chase.  Almost…there was a man that was in the military that pulled her off the back of a bike.  And…long story short, we made the arrest.  He was injured because he was thrown from the bike, and she has no scratches,” his mother starts to speak, but Jack holds out his hand, speaking louder, “I told you not to get involved in my marriage.  I have to do what is right for me and Finn, and right now being with her is what’s right.”
“What if she breaks your heart?”
“Like I did her?  I was the one that messed up in our marriage.  Now, I’m going to be with her, and my son.  My marriage or lack thereof is my business.  Okay?” She gives him a nod of her head, letting him walk out calmly, and he sighs in relief.  She didn’t usually drop a subject that easily.
Every part of you wants to touch him, and then you’re so scared to confuse Finn even more than you had.  Telling him that his dad was coming to the house because something happened at work.  He is too smart of a kid and didn’t believe you, but it was still good enough for him.
“Can we order pizza and watch a movie?” He breaks the tension in the car, and you look back at your son.  He gives you a wink, and holds his hand on the side of your seat, like he did when he was smaller, “Here, I need your hand,” reaching back behind you, you hold his hand, and try and calm your nerves.  “So about that pizza and a movie?”
“Yeah, buddy, I’ll get us some pizza and we’ll watch one of your mom’s favorites.”
“Or!” He giggles from the back, giving your hand a little squeeze, “How about we watch How to Train Your Dragon?”
“That’s perfect,” you squeeze his hand back.  Relaxing a bit more.
Jack gives you a pat to your leg, as you pull into the garage.  “Let me look around real quick.  Let TJ know you’re here.”
Tumblr media
“You want me to go?” Jack asks, reaching a hand over to Finn’s head on your lap, he runs his thumb over his cheek, and you push his hand away.
“He’s sleeping.  Stop,” you look down at him smiling.  He had been such an amazing kid during all this.  A few outbursts which are to be expected.  “He never falls asleep on me anymore.  He’s getting old, and I’m not cool like his dad.”
“And I don’t bandage his scrapes and cuts like his mom.  Can’t make waffles like his mom because mine come from the freezer.  He can’t go to sleep at his bed time because I don’t brush his hair out of his face like his mom does.  I’m the fun one, but you’re the one that makes him feel better.”
“I want you to stay,” you whisper, looking down at Finn’s face.  “I just…what if…if Jax gets out, he can…”
“He has no idea where to find you.”
“Just stay,” you finally look up at him, a million and one things running in your mind, but the main thing is you didn’t want him to leave.  He picks up Finn’s legs off his lap, reaching down to pick him up.  Starting to carry him to the stairs, “In our bed.”
Still not wanting to assume anything, Jack slowly walks Finn into the bedroom, and you pull the covers down before he lays him in the middle of the bed, while you switch your feet around.  He leans over, giving him a kiss, and pulling the covers up.  Starting to leave, but you stand in front of the door, “What are you doing?” He whispers.
You know this wasn’t going to help your confusion, but Finn would be in between you.  “Sharkie?”
“You still have jogging pants here.  You don’t need to sleep in your clothes,” you slowly lick your lips, and Jack’s eyes flick to them quickly.  “Jack…I don’t wanna be alone.”
“I’m not leaving,” god, you wished things were different.  If they were this wouldn’t be so damn awkward.  “I’ll put on some pajamas.”
“Where are you going to sleep?”
“The couch?” You shake your head no, and he looks up to the ceiling, “The guest bedroom?”
“The bed is big enough,” before he can speak, you put both hands on his chest calmly, “Nothing’s gonna happen.  Our son is in the bed.  He can sleep between us.  I just…I feel better knowing you’re close to us.  Please?”
“Is that all this is?” He didn’t know how you would answer, only that he hoped you said that there was more.  His eyes watch you intently, and your head slightly shakes no, before your mouth ever utters a word.
“I don’t know.  I just…I want you with us.”
“Okay.  Okay,” cupping your cheeks, he gives you a chaste kiss to your forehead.  “I’ll stay right here,” you whisper out your thanks, pulling away from him, and walking to the bed.  Making sure to give Finn a kiss, before you close your eyes.  Just breathing.  Just living in this moment.      Trying to not read too much into this.  You have always felt safe with Jack around, and that’s what this was.
Jack takes a quick shower, before going back into the bedroom, and you were already softly snoring.  It was almost like Christmas night.  Wanting to prolong the day, and have Finn in the bed with you.  He pops his neck, and grabs up his phone, flipping through his messages from Cal and TJ.
How is she doing?
Why have you not came home?  We are waiting.  I thought I was for sure going to be heading back to that house.
I’m still here.  Staying the night.
😳😮Where are you sleeping???
You don’t have to answer that Jack.  TJ is being nosy.
Goodnight.
Going through a few more, he almost growls, because it was a new number, You think you can just block me?  And ignore me?  Hold on to her like you have a future?  That isn’t how this is going to work.
He hits block again, and walks over to the bed.  Settling down, when your cold feet slide over to touch his leg, and he grins a bit.  No matter how much time had passed, or how long it had been since he had been in your bed, you still reacted in the same way.  He didn’t know what you were feeling, but what he was feeling wasn’t complicated.  He wanted you.  Wanted this right here.
He shouldn’t have taken these moments for granted.  Shouldn’t have thought they were always going to be here.  And now he was left with hoping that this happened again.  And this would be the normal once more.  But if it was just because you were scared, he would take what he could get.  It is what he deserved for just how shitty he made you feel.  He was going to enjoy whatever crumbs you decided to give him.
But he saw you react to his question.  He wasn’t going to push it.  Anytime he did, you retreated even more.  He just had to wait for you to decide these stupid men that you were dating was not him, or until you found someone that ticked all the boxes, and he hoped that never happened.  He hoped that this was going to be his life again.  Cherishing each second, and not even wanting to fall asleep, because this could all be a dream, and tomorrow was the reality.

“Hey!” Jack says excitedly when you call. You never call on your weekend, “Wait, is something wrong? Is Finn okay?”
“Yeah, he’s fine,” you hated this. Hated every bit of it, and missed when life was just simple. When you could call him because you missed the sound of his voice. “TJ was wanting to go out tonight, and it’s my weekend. Finn wants to spend the night with my parents, but I wanted to check and see if you wanted him?”
“Oh,” he hesitates, looking over at Cal. “Um, I already had plans.”
“It’s okay. I just wanted to give you that option. Also, wanted to talk to you about maybe getting him on a weekday. He misses you. Maybe have a night or two of dinners at the house? You’re better at math anyways.”
It felt normal and strained all at the same time. Felt so forced, and it almost felt like you were holding onto whatever strings you had left of your family. “You know I want to spend as much time with him as possible,” it was one of the few things you wanted from Jack. An available father. “So where’s the dynamic duo going tonight?”
“We’re going out,” he was such a slime ball sometimes, always trying to trick you into telling him where you were going.  You knew he was going to be doing his own research, and he would find you.
“Hmm,” he playfully chides you.  “I’m guessing you two are dressing in all black, TJ is going to have his fancy little martinis, and you can’t even fake classy like that when it comes to your alcohol, you’re going to have a bottle of beer in your hand, and you’ll be dancing up a storm.  Just stay away from pool tables.”
Both of you sigh, remembering happier times between the two of you.  It was bittersweet to think that it all started with a pool table, drinks, and TJ and Callum.  “You and Cal have fun tonight.  I’m picking the boy up tomorrow, and we’re going to see a movie,” you leave it open for a second, hoping that he will invite himself.  Unsure of why you did it.  But there was still a deep longing for your family.  For your husband.  You just couldn’t trust him.
“If you’re going to go see the latest Batman movie, do you mind if I tag along?”
“You better ask our son.  I need to get him to my parents, and get ready.  Have fun, Jack.”
“You, too,” he clicks off, and puts his phone on his chin thinking.  Contemplating everything that you had said, before jumping up and looking at your social medias.
“What are you doing?” Cal asks, peeking around Jack’s shoulder.  “Get off her page.”
“Her and TJ are going out tonight,” he says, clicking through your recent activity.  Nothing.  You were a ghost online, but not TJ.  TJ wants everyone to know that he’s having more fun than everyone else.
“They should.  TJ is good for her, and you won’t have to worry about her having sex,” Jack turns to glare at Cal, and he holds his hands up in surrender.  “No one has her back quite like Teej, you know this.  Ooh!” He points at a local club that was hosting a new DJ, “Can we go there?”
“Yep,” Jack answers, putting the address in his phone.  “We’re not the only ones.”
“Jack!” Cal throws his head back dramatically.  “You can’t go chasing her around all the time.”
“No, you said I needed to try.  I’m trying.  Me and her have open dialogue.  She can actually look at me again.  She invited me over for dinners at the house with Finn.”
“You’re not weaseling your way in, are you?  Like you legit want to be with your wife?  Want to wake up in the bed with her every morning?  Want to clock out, and go home to her every night?  Want to deal with the hard stuff?  Want to see your son every day?  Want to be there for her?  And want to compromise and have another kid?  This isn’t some conquest.  This is a woman that does in fact love you, maybe she’s still in love with you, maybe she’s in love with the idea that she had in her head of you.  But you can’t just do this, and spend time with Finn and then flake away.  You have to be there for her during the hard times.  Have to have arguments, without turning to someone else who will just tell you what you want to hear.  That woman is who you talk about things with.  Open yourself and be vulnerable.”
“Yeah,” he answers.  Standing up to walk out of the station, “Like I know this is stupid, but I realize what I had, now that it’s gone,” he gets a hard whack in the back of the head at that admission, “I know, I’m dumb.  I am a dumb man.  I wanted to have it all, and now I have nothing.  But she and my son are what I want.  This isn’t just to prove that I can have her whenever I want.  This is wanting the life that I should have been working to have with her.  They don’t make women like her.”
“Yeah, she made the best lunches.  And now, I don’t get snacks.  You messed up my snack time for me Jackson.  I miss those cute little boxes of a cheese and meat platters.  With the little nuts, and jellies.  It was like a charcuterie box.  I’m going to tell her I want that.  She’ll make me one.  I haven’t pissed her off.  So we’re going to this club, and you’re hoping that she and TJ will be there?”
“Yep.  They’ll be there, or we’re going to look like idiots.”
“Correction, you dance like a white boy.  You’re going to look like an idiot.”
Tumblr media
“Stop dancing with me,” TJ yells in your ear, trying to pull away from you, but you pull him back.  “That fine as fuck DJ is checking you out.  Keeps smiling at you, and that tall drink of water keeps thinking I’m straight because you won’t quit grinding on me.  You’re cockblocking me. Again.  And yourself,” he gives a wave up at the DJ trying to push you away.
“Don’t leave me.  He’s working,” you glance up at the man, and he was smiling the whole time, and directly at you.  Waving his hand for you to come up there to him.  “Oh!”
“See!  Now, go suck his dick while he plays or something,” you smack him in the stomach, and his obnoxious and roaring laughter lifts your mood even more.  “Not everyone you date has to be on that app.  You can meet people out in real life.  Go talk to the man.”
“Yeah.  Yeah, I’ll…I’m going up there,” you depart from TJ, going up to the DJ which you find out quickly his name was Mickey.  He even pulls you in front of him, teaching you how to work the turntables.  Getting close to your body quickly.
TJ sits at the bar, ordering up another martini when he sees Jack and Cal walk in, and starts laughing.  Raising a hand to the two men, and they trot over to him, “Quit looking,” TJ says, pointing up at the stage.  Jack’s face falls for a minute seeing you smiling and laughing.  “She just got up there.  He’s been watching her all night.”
“She looks beautiful,” his eyes drift all down your body.  You and TJ always did make a statement when you walked in somewhere.  Coordinated enough, but could still attract the people you wanted.
“She looks hot,” TJ responds, taking a sip from his martini.  “You went digging on my facebook didn’t you?” Jack looks over at him quickly, and TJ shrugs, “You’re predictable Jack.  You can’t stand not to snoop.  And yes, I put that shit out there to lead you to where she was going to be.  She’s not on a date with this guy.  She’s flirting.”
“He looks sloppy,” Jack notes, looking down at his clothes.  TJ pulls apart one of Jack’s layers, and then another.  “What are you doing?” He slaps his hand off him.
“How many layers do you have on today?  Your wife has a type, and it starts with the clothes,” Callum throws his head back, starting to laugh, but Jack squints his eyes, glaring at TJ.  “Ain’t none of y’all going to win best dressed.  She stays with me, so we can look good together, and then she has you and whatever that is to make her look like the queen she is.  Look at fucking Dean.”
“Don’t talk about that man.  I have a meeting with him on Monday.  He’s talking to Finn about his mom,” TJ points up at you, and Jack shakes his head.  “She’d pull Dean’s testicles off his body if she thought that he was including Finn in her dates.  I think she ended it with Dean,” TJ nods his head quickly, “Okay, she definitely ended it with Dean, and he doesn’t like it.  So he involves our son.  She…I gotta go,” he bolts off quickly when he sees you start to walk off the stage, and TJ slaps at Callum’s arm.
“Big guy, that sweet thing right there is checking you out.  Now, if you would please, I have got this man that I have wanted to talk to you, and if it isn’t my bestie, it’s you and Jack.  Talk to her, dance with her, take her home.  Jack is busy.”
“You think this is gonna work?” TJ shrugs his shoulders, taking a sip of the martini, already tapping his finger on the bar for another.  “They love each other.  They know they love each other.  She’s stubbornly trying to prove she doesn’t.”
“She still believes Jack slept with that woman.  Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t.  Doesn’t matter.  She thinks he did.  She’s stubbornly trying to prove she doesn’t love him, so she doesn’t get hurt.  She’s sleeping around, because ‘he did’.  That woman is struggling because her heart starts in her vagina.  But Jack has something no one else does.”
The two men look at each other, and both respond, “Finn.”
“Jack will always have a piece of her heart because that’s Finn’s dad.  She wants things to work.  But she’s playing the game like Jack did.  One foot in and one foot out.”
“Our friends suck,” Cal looks over at the woman that TJ had pointed out, and nods his head at her.  “If Jack plays his cards right…”
“No, you watch, he won’t be going home with her.  I think she really meant it when she said she wasn’t going to sleep with him,” Cal points over towards you and Jack, and you were laughing at whatever he was saying.  Your hand finding any excuse to touch him.  “She’s had a few beers.  And a couple of shots.”
“Twenty bucks says he goes home with her.”
“Thirty bucks says he just gets a kiss,” TJ puts his hand in front of Cal, and they both shake on it.  Going their separate ways with their prospective partners for the evening while you giggle again at Jack.
Grabbing at his hips, you tell him to loosen up.  “Have fun!”
“This is so fun.  So very fun,” he responds sarcastically, and you throw your head back laughing, but grab his hand to place on your hips.
“Feel the beat.  Or just feel me,” he gulps, as he tries to dance around with you.  He was definitely feeling you.  Had your undivided attention, and you were ignoring the DJ and only looking at him.  Your eyes were shining up at him, and the two of you were laughing.  You weren’t just Finn’s parents at this moment.  You were two people enjoying each other.
“That’s better,” you giggle, turning around, and his hands pull you closer to his body, “Oh, we’re going back to the good ole days, huh?”
“Remind me of how good you can dance,” circling your hips, you lean forward a bit, starting to grind on him.  Even he gets into dancing.  Relaxing enough to enjoy the beat of the music, but mostly your ass on his crotch.  You close your eyes, and forget about the past.  Push aside everything that has happened, and will yourself to live only in this moment.
Your hand goes behind you, and you hold onto his neck.  Jack takes a chance, and leans forward, softly kissing on the column of your neck.  With your first whimper, he nibbles on your skin.  Kissing up your neck, before he comes to your face, and you were looking at him through your lashes.  Your pupils a deep sea of lust.  Your fingers wiggle around on him, urging him closer.
His eyes flash down to your lips, and you pull him even closer.  Inching closer and closer, so slowly, before his petal pink lips touch your own.  The moment he touches your mouth, your body spins around, so you can deepen the kiss.  Granting his tongue access quickly.  It was muscle memory, but it was so full of passion.  You hadn’t kissed him like this in so long.  Hadn’t felt him like this for years.
Jack’s hand starts coasting up your side, and his thumb brushes over your nipple, and you yip on his mouth, and he pulls you closer.  Starting to walk backwards, and get you somewhere private.  A heated moment between two old lovers.  He starts kissing down your neck, looking around the crowded club, and you blink your eyes open.
Purple haze surrounded you; intoxicating you.  Those thick fingers caress your soft curves, and you hear a scratch of the record, and realize where you were.  Remember just who was sucking on your neck, and you push him off you, “I can’t do this.”
“Sharkie, wait.”
“I’m not some hookup, Jack.  I can’t,” he grabs at your hand, pulling you back to him, “I can’t.  I can’t give you that.”
“Let’s just leave then,” there was so much sincerity in his face that it hurt.  A deep rooted pain fills in your gut, and you hated the way it was making you feel.  “We don’t even have to do anything.  Let’s just go home,” you shake your head no.  Your vision goes blurry as your eyes fill up with tears.  “Why?”
“I can’t do that with you.  I don’t trust myself with you.”
“Why?”
“Because I always fall,” you pull his hand off your own and start to walk away.  Getting closer to the stage, while Jack spins on his heel, and marches out of the club.  Screaming the minute he gets out, and Cal and TJ look at each other from across the way.
You were already waving your hand to Mickey, who calls another man to take his place, sinking deeper away from the crowd ready for some privacy.  Cal walks outside to Jack who was sitting on the curb, “What happened?”
“We kissed,” his foot toes the ground, but his eyes stare blankly at nothing.  “Not just a little peck, but a real kiss.  It felt like the beginning of our relationship again.  Everything was fine.”
“You were trying to fuck her in there, weren’t you?”
“I don’t know.  She thinks that’s what it was.  I don’t know.  I really don’t know.  I wanted somewhere more private, but we could have left, and just snuggled on the couch.  It doesn’t always have to be sexual.  But I know that’s what she thought it was.  I know she sees me looking at her as an easy way to get my dick wet, and that’s my fault.  Robyn got the sweet flirty side of me, and she got only my dick,” he throws his body back on the pavement looking at the sky.
“Get up off the disgusting ground.”
“I deserve to be down here.”
Cal sits down on the curb with him, nodding his head.  “I really did cheat on her, didn’t I?  Like me giving the best parts to Robyn, even when I was living with my family.  She told me there was no passion in our love making anymore.  I just used her to get my dick wet.  She was supposed to be my everything.  I was with Robyn when my son was in the hospital.  My son was unconscious and my wife was alone.  Scared about our son, and worried about where I was.  And I was drinking coffee with another woman,” Jack starts laughing, closing his eyes, and slams his hands over them.
“I would leave me, too.  I love her.  And I hate that it took all of this to see that.  But I felt it, and I know she did, too.  I know that she felt that spark the moment that our lips touched.  She could feel this passion that we hadn’t had in years.  It was just like old times sake.  And here I was just wanting to get away from the noise, and she took it as using her for her pussy.  Because that’s how I made her feel.  I made her feel like she wasn’t worth anything besides what sits in between her thighs.  And she’s running from what she really feels because I’m dumb.  I wanna drink.  I just want to drink my sorrows away.”
“You’ve got a movie date with them tomorrow.  You can have one more beer.  You’re not drinking your sorrows away.  You’re going to the movies.  You will be Finn’s parents.  Finn needs the both of you.  Monday, you’re marching in and telling Winchester to leave your kid out of his former relationship,” Jack whispers okay, and Cal stands, giving him a hand.
“She loves me, though,” he smiles up at Callum.  “She can’t fake passion.  I knew at the end it was just sex between us.  That though…that kiss had sparks.  Had desperation and need.  Because my wife still loves me.”
“Come on lover boy.”
Tumblr media
TJ opens the door where he had seen you and Mickey run off to, and you were sitting on top of him.  Ass exposed as you bounce over him.  “I’m gonna lock this door,” he says as he closes it quickly.
Your arms wrap around Mickey’s neck, letting him kiss all over your skin.  You were just going through the motions.  But he was enjoying himself.  Deep panting breaths as he sucks bruises on you.  His long fingers cupping your ass and slamming you down harder on his length.
Mickey was just as touch starved as you, and he made sure to touch and kiss every part of your body.  Even though this didn’t mean a damn thing, he makes you feel like you were the only one.  He was touching you in all the right places.  Kissing all over your body, not neglecting any exposed skin, but he couldn’t stop returning to your mouth.  Swallowing all your moans was becoming an addiction and his favorite flavor.  You wanted to forget, but in the twenty minutes you are with him, it felt like for just that time, you were in love again.  If only for these precious few minutes.
You didn’t do this anymore, and yet here you were having the most meaningless sex with someone you barely knew.  Didn’t even know his last name.  But TJ had armed you with condoms, and you were pissed.  Mad at yourself for allowing your vulnerability with Jack to sneak out.  You let him know just how fragile you were when it came to him.
And now here you were taking some man you just met.  Was balls deep, and between his vocal performance and your squelching sounds, the two of you were quite a pair.  Letting the pleasure seep its way to your own throat, you moan as you get closer.  Hoping that he cums quickly, because you didn’t know if you could go for more.
Now you just wanted to go to sleep.  Couldn’t properly enjoy a good fuck because it was making you feel disgusted.  Both his hands cup your face, and he swallows every whimpering mewl as your walls clench down tight around him.  Squeaking out his own pleasure, before his head throws back, “That was amazing,” he pants.  Holding onto your hips when you try to get off.
“Where are you doing?” He was a pretty little thing, but there was no way that you could see this lasting.  Had no desire to bring him around your son.
“Can we do this again?”
“Not likely,” he snorts, finally letting go of you, allowing you to stand up.  You shimmy your dress back over your hips and thighs.  Going to reach for your panties, but he grabs them up off the floor, “You’re keeping my panties?”
“Well, since I don’t get to feel that tight pussy again, it only seems fair that I get to jerk off into these pretty lacy things.  Looks like I made you cream before you ever even pulled me back here,” you nod your head, letting him think he was the reason for your ruined panties.  It was easier for yourself to admit that.
Jack terrified you.  Made you realize that you fell so hard, fast, and easy with him.  And you weren’t sure you could ever give yourself to someone like that again.  “Good luck with the music, Mickey.”
“Yeah, if ever you’re needing a quick lay, I’m here.  I know it’s not serious.”
“You just caught me at a bad time in my life.”
“Even divorced mother’s need sex,” you give him an odd look, and his head flicks towards your hand, “There’s a tanline on your finger.  Mothers are usually pretty guarded.  You protect yourself to protect your child.  It’s not that deep,” he grunts, pulling the soiled condom off, and stuffs his dick back in his pants.  “I hope you find your happiness.  Everyone deserves that.”
“Thanks,” you whisper, giving him a kiss to the cheek.  You walk out, and TJ pouts on the opposite wall, holding his hands out to give you a big hug, “Can you sleep with me tonight?”
“Not like that, right?  Like you got a good fill?  I don’t think I could get it hard for you,” you pinch his butt.  Keeping your head leaned over on his shoulder as the two of you walk out.  “How do you feel?”
“Like shit,” he hands over your phone, and gives you a big smile.  “What?”
“Who’s Frank?”
“Shut up.”
“Who is Frank?  I clicked out of that picture so fast.  I didn’t see anything, but a hairy chest, and those deep v’s on hips.  You two sending nudes?  Is he your next victim?”
“No!” You shout, slamming yourself into the backseat of the Uber.  “No, Frank is different.”
“But you’re sending pictures?”
“That just started,” TJ gives you an almost sad smile, and you lay your head back on his shoulder.  Wrapping both your arms around his one.  “I don’t want to rush into things with Frank.  He’s never been married.  He’s a professor.  He wants kids.  Knows that I have a kid.  And he scares me.”
“Why?” He leans over giving you a quick kiss to your head.  Your eyes blink close as a single tear falls down your face.
“Because, these other ones I’m talking to, I’m not really connecting with them, you know?  I’m talking to them, setting up dates, knowing it won’t be much.  Frank I talk to.  Frank I like.  Frank I don’t want just sex with.  But…what if he’s not Jack?”
“You won’t know, until you know.”
“You think I should make it work with Jack?”
“Make it work?  No.  That forcing bullshit never worked in the past.  I think you should let things progress with Jack the way they are.  Integrate him more with Finn.  Have your family dinner nights.  Don’t deny what’s happening with Frank or whoever else.  But let things grow organically with Jack.  He’s a good dad.  He’s a great guy.  He wasn’t the best husband.  I love Jack.  But he had his flaws, just like you should have been honest with him about what you knew and what you wanted from him.  You shouldn’t have asked for a baby to save your relationship.  There’s not a perfect timeline for you and Jack.  Grow in the way that your fast asses didn’t allow in the beginning.  Two months.  Pregnant.  Three months.  Married.  You guys didn’t know how to take things slow.  Take it slow now.”
“You’re right,” TJ usually was.  “It feels…comforting having Jack be with me and Finn.”
“That’s his dad.”
“Yeah.”
“But you still want him as your partner?” You nod your head, ready to cry on his chest.  “It’s okay to want it, and to be scared of it, and want to explore other options.  Don’t feel guilty about needing to make sure that Jack is who you want.”
“What if he doesn’t want to wait on me to decide?”
“Then,” he says, opening his door.  “He really isn't who you were supposed to be with.  For what it’s worth, I’m pretty sure Jack is set on making things work.  But unless you're willing to forgive everything that happened in the past.  Push it back and let it go, don’t go there, okay?  Now Oreos and milk?”
“Please,” you pout as he drags you in the house.  Stopping in the kitchen, while you strip out of your clothes on the way to the bedroom.  Tossing aside your heels, and you grab one of Jack’s shirts and some clean panties.  Jumping in the bed, and TJ appears with a pack of Double Stuf Oreos and a glass of milk to share.  Stripping down to nothing but his boxer briefs.
He doesn’t make a comment about the shirt that you’re wearing.  Never says anything about how it smells like Jack’s smoky cologne.  He is just there for you.  Letting you cling tight to him when you’ve had your fill of cookies.  TJ was such a good friend, he didn’t make a comment about the tears you were spilling on his chest, and trying not to make a sound.  He knew you were hurting and conflicted.  So he was just there.

Jack leaves his son's side quickly to go into the interrogation room.  This was not at all what he signed on for.  Robyn knew the rules.  She was never to come here to see him under any circumstance.  And of course she would show up on a day that you were going to be here any minute, and a day that Finn was here.
He slings the door open, and stands staring at her with his hands on his hips, “Jack, I, uh…why are you angry?”
“The correct question is why are you here?”
“I wanted to see you.  I thought…”
“Look,” Jack starts.  He looks out of the room to see that Cal’s massive body was blocking Finn’s view.  “I don’t know what you think this is, but…it’s not what you’re thinking.”
“What am I thinking?” Robyn asks.  Her mouth turns up to a devilish smirk.  “What exactly am I thinking Jackie?”
“I asked you never to call me that.  I asked you not to show up at my place of work.  You know that my son is here, and that my wife,” Robyn, makes a gasp looking up at him, “Yes, my wife.  You know she comes here to pick him up.  You are not to be here.”
“So I’m your dirty little secret?”
“What secret?”
“We’re dating.”
“No, we’re not,” Robyn nods her head a few times, and Jack slaps his hand on the desk.  “We’re not dating.  My wife and I are working through some things.”
“Then why the fuck are you calling me?  Why do we go out to eat when it’s not your weekend?  Why do you…”
“I get fucking lonely, okay?  And this was a mistake.  Of all people, it shouldn’t have been you I turned to, and I’m the fool for that.  But dating?  We haven’t even held hands, or kissed, and I’ve never even slept with you.  You’ve never stayed at my apartment.”
“Because anytime I ask, you tell me that you’ve got Finn, and I know for a fact you don’t.”
Jack stands up straighter, and takes a step back from her.  “How do you know?  You do not involve my child.”
“Maybe that’s why your wife is leaving you, Jack.  You want everything.  Want to fuck her, but you have better conversations with me.  You said that she always wanted something more from you.  Always wanted you to be at home when sometimes you wanted to be out with the guys.  I’d allow you to do that.  But you need to get a grip on reality, she’s leaving you.”
“I want you out of here.  I don’t want you to call me.  I don’t want you to show up at my work, and I want you to keep my wife and son out of your mouth.  They are no concern to you.  I let this go on for too long, knowing I never wanted to fuck you.  There’s the door.”
She walks to the door, and stops to turn around to look at him, “When she leaves you, do not come running to me for a wet place to put your dick.”
“Get.  Out!”
She walks out of the precinct, heading down the stairs when she spots you.  Looking up she gives you a quick smirk, and pulls her phone up to her ear, “Yeah, I’ll see you tonight since you won’t have the kid.”
You try to keep your head held high as you walk into the station.  Trying to ignore the fact that you were pretty sure she was the girl.  And if Jack was seeing her, then he could keep seeing her.  But to have her around your son, you couldn’t tolerate, and you wouldn’t.
Tumblr media
Callum flicks the back of his partner’s head.  Jack groans briefly, but doesn’t move.  His friend sits at his desk beside him, staring at Jack, “Don’t say I told you so.”
“What happened?  She finally leave your sorry ass?”  Jack holds his hand up, and quickly shoots Callum a bird.  “Jack, that woman was where your son was.”
“I didn’t ask her to be here.”
“That woman was where your wife was going to be,” Jack sits up, and kicks his feet on the desk, turning his face to glare at Callum.  “Okay, let’s play devil’s advocate here.  Say you went into her salon, and she’s cutting some guy’s hair.”
“She always does that.”
“But say Finn is sitting in the break room, and the man whose hair she’s cutting is the man that she has been dating.  And try to deny it, Jack.  She’s dating someone.  Fowler is already trying to get in her pants, but she is genuinely having fun with a man that isn’t you.  But that man is sitting in her chair, and…”
“I’m not dating Robyn.  I was never dating Robyn.  That was never my intention with her.  She worked at the DA’s office, and it was easy to talk to her about work.”
“You should have been doing that with your wife,” Jack dramatically rolls his eyes, slamming his face back down on the desk.  “Jack, you turned to another woman with your problems.  Don’t you think that your wife would have wanted to hear that?  Listen to that?  She loved you.  And she’s trying to make sense of this.  Trying to find herself, and who knows what she thinks happened.  What she does know, is you put someone else first before her and Finn.  That woman was here, and she saw her.  It doesn’t matter about what happened, because what did happen was enough, and it hurt her.”
The two sit in silence for a moment, before Jack lifts his phone up.  He reads the text slowly, before he narrows his eyes at Cal.  He gives the man a once over, before sending a text back.  “Why are we texting?”
“Because, instead of finding a woman to hover over, you’re dating me.  The fair is in town this weekend, and it's your weekend to have my little buddy.  So, we’re going to get out, you’re going to have a good time.  And you’re not going to think about how that might have been the end of your marriage,” Jack throws a wadded piece of paper over towards Cal, who sticks his foot out, and pushes his chair back.  “Maybe you won’t screw our dates up.”
Tumblr media
“You know I don’t have Finn with me, right?” You ask as Dean pulls into the fairgrounds.  “Like honestly, the last time I went to the fair without my son was…”
“With me, huh?” He gives you that boyish sweet smile, and you nod over at him.  “It’ll be fun.  We can go on the Ferris wheel, and the boat, and there’s the fun house, and we’ll eat disgusting but still delicious fair food, and I’m going to win you a huge stuffed bear.”
“Okay, fine.  I’ll make the most of this as long as you promise we can go back to your place afterwards, and watch Netflix or something,” you hope that he was understanding what you were implying, and he nods excitedly.
“Yes!  There’s a new movie on there I’ve really been wanting to watch,” you hoped Dean wasn’t as oblivious as you were now believing, but you were sure getting him alone at his place would make things easy to be hot and heavy.
You actually enjoy walking through the fair with him.  You felt like you were in high school again, and even the way he timidly put his hand in yours made you look quickly down at the two of you.  It seriously was just like highschool.  Getting to the games, you drop his hand for him to throw baseballs at a target.
“You’re not eighteen anymore, Dean.”
“I still got it,” he throws a ball right in the center, but the target doesn’t fall back.  “That’s a bunch of horse shit.  I hit that.”
“Congratulations.  Here’s a toy,” the operator gives him the most adorable small bear, and he holds it out to you with a frown.
“It’s perfect,” you giggle at him.  He pulls you along to the Ferris wheel, his arms wrapped around your shoulders, while he rests his chin on your head.  Waddling up to the bucket before they help the two of you get it.
His arm goes around you quickly, and he pulls you in close.  Waiting until they stop you at the top when those candy apple green eyes turn to look at you, “What do you think of the view up here?”
“It’s beautiful,” you whisper, but never look at the view, just at him in front of you.  “Dean,” his hand tightens around your shoulder, and he brings you in for a bruising kiss.  Your hands card through his hair, while his other hand steadily moves up your thigh.  Forgetting the outside world, while you enjoy this moment.
His tongue rubs over your lips, and you hungrily invite him in.  The tangy lemonade still lingering on his tongue, and you didn’t think it was possible, but he pulls you even closer.  Nearly on top of him when Jack looks up at the ride gawking.
“What are you…uh!” Cal shouts, moving to stand in front of Finn and his friend.  “I did not ever expect you to have front row seats to her date.”
“That’s the gym teacher!  Winchester,” Jack grunts out, and looks back at Finn who was just talking up a storm to his friend.  “That’s who she’s dating?  A Gym teacher?”
“Wait, the one that you met at the school when Finn had a bloody nose?”  Jack brings his thumb and forefinger up to his temple needing to think for a moment.  He wanted to think about a lot of things, and none of which involved Dean basically groping you in front of a crowd.  His hand sliding up and down your thigh, and dipping in between your legs.
“Could he not?” Jack says as the ride goes back up. Dean’s hand sliding completely up against your core, and you lean even more into him. “I don’t like this. I wanna go home.”
“We just got here. From the looks of it, they’re not staying much longer,” Jack’s body turns to face Callum, and the bigger man grabs his stomach laughing. “I shouldn’t make fun of your misery, but your wife is a catch. Isn’t he an ex?”
“Unfortunately.”
“Makes sense. It’s easier to rebound with someone you’ve already slept with.”
“What?” Jack’s voice goes up an octave, “What is that supposed to mean?”
“Jack, come on man.  That woman thinks you’ve been sleeping with Robyn.  She needs to feel good again.  Not sappy crying good, but someone that makes her feel she’s the only one on the roster.”
“She was,” Jack looks back at Finn, just to make sure that he and his friend were still there, but to see if they had noticed you on the ride.  They were both deep in conversation about some Pokémon or other, and paying no mind.  “She was it.”
“Quit lying to yourself, bud.  You brought this on yourself.  Let her figure out what she wants to do in her time.  So she sleeps with him,” your estranged husband rolls his eyes, and then turns to glare back at you freely giving yourself to Dean.  “You’re not together, she’s cut you off.  Or she goes after Nick, Ow,” Cal grabs his arm after Jack hits him.  “Foul.  Don’t hit.”
“That’s not even funny.”
“Let it go.  This is your own undoing.  The bigger question is how are you going to keep the little man from seeing his mom all flustered and panting from his gym teacher?”
The ride stops, and you bite your lip, looking up at Dean, “Can we leave?”
“Yep,” his voice was raw as he holds your hand stepping off the Ferris wheel.  “We’ll go wherever…”
“Mom?” You stop in your tracks, trying to get past the line, but there your beautiful son was, and your equally handsome soon to be ex husband.  “What are you doing here?  And with Coach Winchester?”
“I’m not here with Coach Winchester.  I came here with Susan, and she ditched me, and I really wanted to ride the Ferris wheel, and Dean was here,” Jack can’t even meet your eyes.  He saw you, and it only made you stand taller.  “Dean, it was very nice to see you out, but maybe I’ll see you at school.”
“Right,” he smiles nodding his head, “Finn, I’ll see you Monday,” he walks away from you, and you start to leave as well, but Jack grabs your arm.
“You’re a terrible liar.”
“At least I don’t pretend to be in love with you, while sleeping with another woman.”
“I wasn’t and have not slept with her.”
“Then maybe you should call her up next weekend.  Or maybe she only likes taken men.  Good luck with that,” you push his hand off you, and give Finn a quick hug before stomping off to find Dean, hoping that his place wasn’t far from here.
“Jack, I don’t even want to hear it.  I want to get on this ride with you, and pretend that this didn't happen.  I warned you.  She warned you, hell, your mom warned you.  I hope she has fun tonight.”
“I hate you.”
“Not as much as she hates you right now.  You gave her fuel to…”
“Shut up!  The last thing I need is an image of my wife having angry sex with the gym teacher,” Cal gives him a smile as he sits in the bucket.  Giving the seat a little tap for Jack to join him.  “She’s with the gym teacher, and I’m stuck with you.”
“You know, all those nights you were stuck with me, while she was in bed alone should have prepared you for this,” Jack spots you quickly, wanting to look away, but he can’t.  He’s sure that it isn’t love that you were feeling for Dean, but there was definitely an animalistic attraction.  The ride on the Ferris wheel showed him exactly what was going to happen, but he hated himself.  Not you.
“She’s really gone isn’t she?”
“You’re judging this because of the gym teacher?” Jack nods his head.  His eyes following you towards the fairground exit.  “She’s not going to marry that man.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Oldest saying in the book.  The best way to get over a man is to get under another.  Meet her another.  She may end up regretting it.  He’s more into her than she is him, but honestly, he’s just an idiot.  She’s still married, and he thinks he’s going to marry her or have a lasting relationship.  It honestly is what it is.  You need to worry about the storm that comes after him,” Jack turns to look at him with wide eyes, “Oh, come on.  She thinks you cheated on her.  She’s getting out there, and she’s either going to find someone, or she’s going to realize that you are worth putting up with.”
“I’m not.”
“Then, I’d say get ready for a long winter.  A long cold one, but then again, sometimes Santa Claus makes Christmas miracles happen.”
“Well, if you see him, tell him I want my wife back for Christmas.  I’ll do anything.  Whatever she wanted,” Jack follows you and Dean all the way out to his car, and Callum can’t help but smile.  His eye twinkles for a moment, and he hopes that Jack means what he says he means, because life can be funny sometimes.
Tumblr media
You push Dean past his door, your lips connecting to any part of his body.  Both of your fingers begin a near fight to see who could get clothes off fastest.  Getting an article of clothing off only for your bodies to push back up against each other.  Your fingers push off his shirt, and you run your hands up his chest, but he pushes you off him.
“My god, you still look amazing.  Better.  You’re curvier.”
“Shh,” you tell him quickly as you undo his button.  “Where’s the bedroom?” Dean wraps his hands around your ass, before lifting you up.  Letting your covered core feel his bulge, and your body searches for any type of relief.  Hunching on him as he carries you into the room.  “Condom?”
“Yeah, I got you,” he tosses you on the bed, and while he reaches for the rubber, you shimmy out of your panties, and he stops, staring at your naked body.  Your swollen folds slippery and glistening.
You smirk at him, and run your hand over your slit, biting at your lip, “Dean, I promise you it’s much better from the inside.  Just put the condom on.”
He puts the packet in between his teeth, ripping an opening.  Pulling the latex out, he slowly rolls it on his length.  You weren’t the only one that had changed in all those years.  Dean was now a man, and he knew how attractive he was.  Still had that rugged boyish charm, but that deep gravelly voice traveled straight to your pussy, “Dean, I’m waiting.”
He grabs at your ankle, and jerks you down the bed.  Flipping your body around, and lifts you up to your knees.  Flattening his hand out, he gives your pussy a few slaps.  Hitting it over and over again, before one abrupt push has him balls deep into your cunt, and you mewl in desperation.
It had been so long since you had anyone else’s cock, that this felt foreign.  He was thick.  While he was deep, it was comfortable.  He slowly pulls himself out, before snapping his hips back into you.  Letting your fingers cling to the blanket, and you turn to look back at him.  He was only staring at where the two of you connected.
Watches every time that he pulls out, and your walls hug him so tightly.  Pounding into your ass harshly, and he grabs at your hips.  Going even harder with the added leverage.  There was nothing he loved more than your hands trying to find something to grip to.  You were arching yourself more, wanting him to hit every part of you.
This was not the sweet love making from years past, this was manic and hard.  Even the way he wrapped an arm around you to play with your clit.  Moaning when your juices drip onto his palm.  “Did I make you that wet, honey, or is your cunt that needy?  Fuuck! You’re squeezing me so tight.  You missed me didn’t you?”
You just wanted to feel the pleasure.  Wanted to ignore anything he was saying.  “I knew it.  We were meant to be,” what?  “It’s like the universe brought us back together.  And perfect timing.”
“Dean…”
“It’s okay.  I feel it.”
“That’s just my cunt because I’m about to cum.”
“No.  I feel the warmth radiating off of you.”
“Again…my cunt.  Dean, fuck me harder.”
“Ugh,” he grunts as he slams into you even harder.  Your arousal leaks onto the bed, and you let out a pornographic scream.  Arching your back as complete euphoria takes over your body.  Bliss settles over you, and he starts to change his pace.
This wasn’t going to work out.  You push and pull yourself on his cock instead.  Getting the perfect angle and speed.  Slamming your cunt onto his cock, and you start to see stars.  You were pissed.  Pissed at Jack for trying to ruin your evening.  Pissed at Dean for making this more than it was, and pissed at yourself for thinking your first love was going to be the answer.
Whimpering out in your anger and pleasure, your legs start trembling as you gush over his cock, “Dammit,” you scream.  Crawling off of him, you grab his hand and yank him on the bed.  You were a grown woman and knew how to take control.  You settle over his cock.  Riding him with your face pointing at the ceiling.  This wasn’t how you wanted the evening to go.
You wanted to be fucked.  Face down on the pillow.  Fucked so hard you went stupid.  And now you were having to do all the work.  Your thoughts run rampant in your mind, because Jack had to plant that little seed in your brain.  You still loved him, and that pissed you off.  It pissed you off because you knew you deserved better than a man that would run around on you.  A man that would have his mistress at his work and around his son.  Pissed because this was hard, and it sucked.
“Right there.  Right there, baby.  I wanna fill you up.  Never did that.  Let me do it.”
“Shut up!” You scream at Dean, still unable to look at him.  You cry through your anger.  Your tears only provoke another orgasm.  Dean’s own head tilts back, and he chirps as he lets himself go.  You slow your bounces to a steady grind before you come down from your high.  Looking down at Dean somehow made this worse.  You could never give him all that he was wanting.  You didn’t work out with him for a reason.  You just wanted an easy lay.
Crawling off of him, you go to gather your clothes, “Where are you going?”
“Home.”
“What?  Why?  You’ll be there alone.”
“I need to be alone right now,” he starts to say something, but you push your finger up against his mouth.  “Don’t go chasing after me.  I can’t do this.  I don’t want what we had when we were kids.  I don’t want to go in reverse, or visit the past.”
“We’ve had fun these past few weeks.”
“Dean, I can’t be the woman you want me to be.  You understand that, right?  I can’t pretend that I’m not angry and hurt by Jack.  I don’t want to be that vulnerable with you.  This lovesick moment you cooked up in your head, can’t happen with me.”
“But you're my girl.”
You give him a soft smile, and lean down to kiss his lips gently.  “I’ll always be your girl.  But that girl grew up, and she’s now a woman.  With a child and a divorce on the horizon.  I’m not who I used to be, and I’m not apologizing for my growth, because I’ll continue to grow, and so will you.  You deserve someone that will be this submissive wife to you.  That doesn’t have the baggage I have.  And one day, you’ll have that.”
“I could have it with you,” his pouty face always got you, and you had to look away shaking your head.  “I could.”
“That’s not me anymore, Dean.  Take care of yourself, and don’t take this out on my son.  Everything I do always has to benefit him.  You’re not just dating me, you’ll eventually date him, and you have never asked about him.  Never talked about him.  You get snippy if I have to leave to get him.  He is my everything.  And one day, when a woman gives you that, you’ll understand.  But I can’t have someone look at Finn as an annoyance.  Take this for what it was.  Two people who were once in love fuck one last time.  And it felt good.”
You give him one more final kiss before booking you a ride.  You hated that you had to possibly hurt someone to spread your wings, but you never gave Dean any indication that you wanted anything serious.  He still didn’t fulfill your need for just hard pounding sex.  You pull out your phone, and send a message to Nick, ‘Two weeks from today, I could use a night.’
One night?
‘That’s all I want.’
I can provide that.
You look at your other messages, but click off to text Frank.  He was the only one that you gave your personal number to.  ‘Vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be?’
Puerto Rico.  Good food.  Sun.  Don’t need a passport.  And could spend all day doing nothing.  Or drinking.  Or eating.  There’s water, and boats, complete fun.  You?
‘I like your answer.’
If you had to live anywhere else in the world where would it be?
‘Somewhere out west in the middle of nowhere so I didn’t have anyone to bother me.  You?’
Anywhere where I could be in the middle of nowhere is fine with me.
You click out of the message to send one to TJ, ‘I need wine!’
The dick not that good?
‘He thought we were going to get back together.’
I’m bringing pizza and caramel M&Ms.  Also bringing Nutella and Biscoffs.
‘I love you Teej.’
Did he at least wear something?  I don’t want another oopsie baby even if I love Finn with all my heart.  Next baby I want you to be completely in love.
‘Yes.  Now bring me junk food.’
Tumblr media
Jack peeks into his son’s bedroom to find him and his friend passed out, and trash was everywhere.  One look at him was the only confirmation he needed to prove that once upon a time you and Jack truly loved each other.  He thinks about when you and him were the happiest.  Had learned to make a few hookups, turned family work out.
He gathers up the trash out of the floor, throwing a blanket on each boy, before he leaves.  Checking his phone to only see desperate texts from Robyn.  He clicks on her info before blocking the number all together.  He didn’t care what you were going through right now, he would prove that he could be both the father and husband that you deserved.  No matter what.
You were made for him, and he was made for you.  He didn’t care if it took until the divorce was final for you to realize that.  He was going to be the partner he should have been all along.  Seeing you with Dean had hurt him more than anything he could realize.  You looked awkward and foreign in his arms, and he finally understood the pain he caused you when you had to see the calls and texts that were being sent to Robyn.  You wouldn’t be seeing them anymore, and that was a promise.  And one he would keep.

“Hey?” You hear TJ’s voice, but you continue mindlessly loading the dishwasher.  The events of that day hadn’t left your mind.  They were so fresh, and still so real.
“Hello?” It wasn’t just the chase which had scared you into deleting that fucking app, but it was afterwards.  You had tried to push aside the feelings you had for Jack.  Didn’t want to give him that kind of power over you yet.  But seeing him be openly supportive of you, never questioning your motives, never making you feel guilty, and even standing up to his mother; it was something you didn’t think you would ever see.
TJ says your full name, and you stop your motions, staring at him, but he was all blurry.  It was like looking at him through a filter, so you blink your eyes a few times, and fully focus on him.  “You okay?”
“I’m fine.  I am fine.  Yeah, I’m fine.”
“That sounded like someone that was fine,” TJ answers sarcastically, curling his nose up, looking at you.  “Hey, what’s going on through your pretty little head?”
You shrug, going back into that weird halfway awake world.  A world you can go through the motions, but you aren't fully alert.  “What are we doing today?” TJ hisses through his teeth and you whine a moment, “What?”
“We aren’t doing anything?”
“Why?”
“You know why.  This is the annual men’s shopping day.
You roll your eyes starting to walk back into your bedroom, “It’s fucking October.  Do it another day.”
“Can’t.  Your baby daddy and Cal suck at buying gifts.  So Teej is there to help them.”
You know it’s wrong to do, but you pout up at him, trying to get tears to fill your eyes, and he actually laughs, “But you’re my best friend.”
“We’ve been doing this since you were pregnant with Finn.  They suck at gifts.  I had to help them.  Besides, Finn looks forward to this, too.  And We’re taking Brody.”
“You guys are mean.  I wanted to drink beer and watch movies with you.”
“Come with us then,” you shake your head no.  Not that you didn’t want to go, but because TJ helped them with gifts every year, and it had became their thing.  Even when Finn couldn’t talk, those three always went shopping with a baby.  Taking turns carrying him on the chest while he giggled, squealed, and sometimes cried.  Even if you had to get him because he needed his mama.  They never missed this.  They tried to get it done earlier, in case they had to go again at a later date.  Plus, seeing Jack in that familiar setting again was going to make the feelings swirling around you that much worse, and you were already struggling to set that boundary.  “You don’t have to fight it.”
“Ugh,” you start to protest, but thankfully the doorbell has you going back to the front door, with TJ right on your tail.  Since that day, he hadn’t let you do anything alone anymore.  Ready to say something else to you, but you sling the door open, and look the large man up and down.  “Silas?  Sylvester?”
“Syverson,” he says, putting his hand out for you to shake, “Sy is fine, too.”
“Why are you here, and how did you know where I lived?” He pulls out your tiny little card wallet that you had on you. Your ID and debit card still stuck in there, it must have fallen out in his backseat when he drove you and Jack to the station.  Reaching out to grab it, you thank him quickly.  “I should seriously thank you for what you did.  Buy you a coffee or something,” TJ clears his throat, and you elbow him in the stomach.  “I mean, you did save my life.”
“Uh,” he looks between you and TJ and nods his head, “Okay.  We’ll go get some coffee.  What about him?”
“He’s going shopping with my son, ex, and his best friend.  Teej,” he gives you two solid blinks, and you look back at Sy, “You want to drive or me?  Or meet?”
“How about we just meet there?  It’ll give you more sense of control.”
“I’m going to grab my coat,” you say walking back towards your room.  Leaving Sy out of the porch when TJ corners you.
“What are you doing?”
“Coffee.”
“You’re going on a date with the big man,” You laugh, shaking your head even more.  “Keep your locations on.  Head to the coffee shop by the mall, we’ll be there just in case.  Do not leave with him.  And for Christ sake keep it in your pants.”
“I didn’t sleep with Jax.”
“When did you have time?”
“I don’t want to have sex,” TJ smirks at you, and you nudge his arm.  “Stop that.”
“You don’t want to have sex, because you’re waiting on Jack’s thick cock to rail into you,” you give him another nudge on his arm, and start to walk away.  “It’s okay.  Make him jealous.  Do what you need to do, but that man is in it now.  If you want his cock that bad, you could have it.  You’ve got him simping for you now.  I’ll lock up.  Enjoy your coffee with that giant man.”
Tumblr media
This is not a date, you send to TJ.  Smiling over at Sy.  He was a precious man, but this was no date.
What?  How is it not a date?  Details woman!  DETAILS!!!!!!
Thanking him had given Sy the ability to be open and honest with you.  It was like his words were pouring out of his mouth before he realized what he was even saying.  He wasn’t sure why he felt comfortable with you, possibly the whole saving your life, but he did.
“I don’t know who that man was, but there was something there.  And it made me think of my relationship,” someone was always bringing up that there was something there between you and Jack.  Like you didn’t know there was.  Like you couldn’t feel it.  But they didn’t know how you felt during those dark days.  They didn’t know how you felt like just a common whore for him to use.
“So you got a fiance?  Girlfriend?” You give him a kind smile, sipping your coffee, anything to move the direction away from Jack.
“Girlfriend.  A few years actually.  She…She’s been amazing during my tours.  Waited for me until I got back, and I only give her part of me.  Never all that she deserves.”
“Why?”
He rolls his fingers on the table before scratching at his beard.  Leaning back more into the seat as he looks up at you, “Army man.  I always leave.”
“I feel if she’s been with you for a few years she knows this about you.  She wants something more serious, and you’re holding back?”
“Yeah.  She started talking about babies, and marriage, and I want that.  But she deserves more than me.  Our kids would deserve more than me.  I love her.  But when is love enough?  What if she finds someone else, while I’m on tour.  Or if I get killed.  I left her and a kid behind.”
“Hmm, you’ve thought about kids with her?” He nods his head.  He was precious.  He was asking the right questions, and clearly wanted a woman’s perspective without talking to his girlfriend, even though it involved her.  “I think, if she didn’t understand those risks, she wouldn’t have hung around.  I think her mentioning kids and marriage is because she wants the long run with you, come what may.  I’m not going to pretend to understand the ins and outs of dating someone military, but if a woman has stayed with you through that while dating, she’s made her decision.  Can you see her having that with someone else?”
His eyes darken, and he lets out a bit of a grunting no, “Then why are you punishing her and yourself?”
Tumblr media
Jack stops in his tracks, looking over the parking lot.  He had studied you enough to know that it was you sitting with that man.  He gives his head a scratch, looking back at Finn and Brody as they take an arcade break. The two boys were playing some racing game, “How the hell did she find him?”
“Who?  What?  Is that?” Cal squints his eyes looking over to the two of you, and Sy grabs your cup, standing up with it, while the both of you walk back inside.  “He’s a giant.  He’s bigger than me.  She comes up to right here on me,” he taps his arm below his shoulder, making sure that Jack saw him.  Noting how you were even shorter compared to Sy.
“It’s not a date.”
“That’s not even her type.  Clearly my wife has a type.  We all look the same.”
Cal’s eyes roam up and down Jack’s body.  Laughing because he just couldn’t take his eyes off you.  Trying to see if you were touching him, you were not.  See if you were laughing, no, but you were smiling.  Seeing if you did that thing where you leaned into his body, no you weren’t.
“Yeah, basic white man that wears a bunch of clothes.  A bit scruffy, and a bit of messy hair.”
“It’s not a date,” TJ groans again, only looking at the two boys.  Getting annoyed at Jack’s constant need to punish himself by watching you anytime he saw you with another man.  “She deleted the app.”
“I can’t compete with that.  He also has an accent.”
“He probably thinks you have an accent,” Cal reminds him.  The two of you emerge from the coffee shop with more coffee in tow, and even an extra cup, and pastries.  “He likes coffee.”
“It’s because it’s not a date.  His girlfriend is about to join them.”
“What?” Jack finally says looking towards TJ, “What do you know?”
“I know that he returned her ID and debit card.  She offered coffee.  She texted and said this wasn’t a date, that the man was having a crisis with his girlfriend.  Oop,” he looks down at his phone, but chooses not to divulge that information.  Anyone around you and Jack knew that you two were completely and madly in love.  And the conversations with Sy had made you feel that even more.
“What?”
“Nope.  Best friend confidentiality.  Jack.  Your phone is going off again,” Jack looks down at his phone, but shoves it back in his pocket.  His eyes dart around the arcade, spotting his son before he lets out a dramatic sigh.  “Jack?”
“We can’t let Finn and Brody out of our sight.”
“I haven't’ looked away from them.  We’ve been told we’ll be castrated if anything happens to Finn.  Who is texting you?” TJ tries to grab at Jack’s phone, but he swats his hand away.  “Jack?”
“Robyn.  She won’t fucking leave me alone.  I block her number only for her to get a new one.  I told her we were through.  She didn’t take it well.  And since she saw Sharkie at the precinct and left with me, and saw that I didn’t leave our house, it’s gotten worse.”
“She saw you.  At your house.  That you and your wife share.  And she knows you didn’t leave.  Give me the phone,” Jack shakes his head no, and TJ holds out his hand, “Give it to me.”
“Why?”
“Harassment and stalking are illegal.  And why are you saying that we need to watch the boys?  Is she threatening our son?  I’m using the word our, because if you mess with Finn, you get more than just you, but you get TJ and Cal.  Give me the damn phone,” Jack hands him his phone, and TJ flips through the back to back messages.  Checking to see how many numbers Jack had blocked.  “She works at the DA’s office?”
“Yep.”
“Hmm, maybe it’s time for good ole Judge Hammond to make an appearance.  Mom was talking the other day of how she misses her only grandson since me and Dougie won’t give her any,” Jack shakes his head no, mentioning something about losing her job.  “She’s here and she’s watching Finn.  Oh lookie there, another message about how she sees your ‘cunt wife with another man because she’s a psycho whore’.  She doesn’t deserve that job.  She’s standing around watching us.  My mom can allude to charges, if she doesn’t go away quietly.  This bitch could ruin your marriage for good.”
“You can’t use your mom and dad to do your evil deeds,” Cal smiles, nodding his head because he knew that Elaine Hammond would do anything to protect Finn.
“But having a prolific family that has claimed Finn as their own grandchild has its perks.  He’s right Jack,” Cal looks over their surroundings.  Seeing if he could spot the bitch herself, “This woman is crazy.  She’s escalating because you’re ignoring her.  Let Elaine make an appearance at the office with you and Finn. Robyn will understand how protected you guys are.  I would assume she knows that Bud is a senator, too.  Everyone knows Judge Hammond.”
“Yeah, fine,” Jack says as he walks over to the boys.  Telling them that time was up, and they needed to continue on their shopping trip.  Looking back quickly to your table, and can’t help, but smile.  There you were standing up hugging some woman before she sits down beside Sy.  Her hand resting on his thigh, while the other rubs on his back.  This wasn’t a date.  And now he could leave without the doom that covered his head with each date.
Tumblr media
“And he just pulled you off that motorcycle?” The second you nod your head, Chelsea was turning to look up at her boyfriend with her eyes glowing.  “Babe, I knew it was good to have you around,” there was something that was so precious about watching her and him constantly have their hands on each other.
She completely ignores her coffee and pastry as she rubs over his thigh and back.  His own mitt sized hand on the thigh that was furthest away from him, pulling her body closer to his.  Even with his fears of leaving her behind, he didn’t want her far away from him.  Leaning into her body to kiss right behind her ear, and you look down at the table to give them privacy.
“So what’s your story?” She asks excitedly after having to push him away.  “You knew the cops that were chasing the motorcycle?”
“Yeah, he’s my…estranged husband.  Divorce hasn’t been finalized yet.”
“Oh,” Chelsea looks up at Sy confused.  “I thought…I didn’t know, I’m sorry.”
“We’re on good terms,” you feel your mood start to change, but there was something cathartic about talking to strangers about your relationship, or lack there of.  “I’ve been dating around, but…I keep searching for him.  They have one quality of him.  The look, the passion, but they’re never him.  We’re just…not good.  We’ve been better since the split.  He’s a great father.”
“Oh! A kid!  How old?” Chelsea looks up at Sy, her eyes grow a bit distant, and leans over on his shoulder.  “I love kids.  Kindergarten teacher.  I can’t help it,” her caressing of his thigh slows down, before completely stopping, “I want kids,” Sy clears his throat, whispering something in her ear.
“What was that?” Not that they owed you an explanation on what was being said, but you were of course curious.  The more children issue was always one of yours and Jack’s biggest.
“We’re talking about you.  How old is your kid?”
“He’s seven,” you loved your son.  Would have loved to have more just like him.  Your sweetest baby was not much of a baby anymore.  Growing up too fast.  “Almost eight.  He’s the reason we got married.  Jack — he didn’t want to tell his mom we were expecting, and not married.  So we had a shotgun wedding.”
She pulls a hand off Sy, extending it over the table, “You still love him though,” there was no question to it.  She was making a clear statement.  “I see it in your eyes.  So you’re dating around, why?”
“Chels.”
“No, I feel like when someone saves your life, you’re bound together forever.  And seeing how we are bound together, too, well, we’re all connected.  Why are you refusing to date your husband?”
You take a slow sip of your coffee, trying to find the best way to articulate your feelings.  It definitely wasn’t that you didn’t want to be with Jack.  Hell, each day that passed you wanted to be with him more than ever.  “You’re afraid he’s going to hurt you again?”
“Yeah, and I need to know that is who I want.  In a moment of vulnerability we’re great.  He’s great, but there are times I remember the ugly.  Times that I remember how low I felt.  I would rather things be like this between me and him, and my child not having to hear us argue.  The only thing he wishes is that Jack was there in the mornings, or that I was at his dad’s in the morning.  It’s not just me I’m looking out for.  Even in dating.  I did the stupid dates that I knew wouldn’t work.  They couldn’t be what I needed and Finn needed.  Now, if I date, they’re going to have to be genuine, and I need them to want me and my son.  And deal with an ex-husband.  But back to you guys. How did you two meet?”
Tumblr media
“Miss Stone,” Elaine emphasizes ‘miss’ as she walks up to Robyn’s desk.  “I asked you to gather some files for me.  Did you happen to get them,” Robyn puts on her sickeningly sweet smile as she hands over the files to Elaine.  She never liked Robyn.  After a phone call from her son, she liked her even less.  She knew there was something off and cloying about her.
Elaine’s perfectly manicured hands tap on the counter, looking at her annoyed with how slow she was going, “TJ!” She squeals as her son walks into the office.  “Finny!” The little boy runs up to her, hugging her around her waist.  Robyn looks up from her desk at Jack, before she nervously looks back down.
“Jack, how’s your little problem going?  You need me to point you in the right direction of a lawyer?  Stalking and harassment are serious charges,” Robyn clears her throat, before standing and walking towards the break room, “Is everything okay Miss Stone?”
“Yeah,” she squeaks out.  “Everything is fine, Judge Hammond.  I”m just going to take an early break.”
“You do that, dear.  Finny, how about your handsome dad and beautiful uncle TJ take your Yiyi to work?”
“I can say your name now, Yiyi.”
“Please don’t.  When you make yourself older, I feel older,” she winks up at Jack, pulling the man closer to her as TJ chases Finn out to the car.  “If she makes one more call or text to your phone, or you see her near my grandson and your wife again, I’ll get Andy to slap every charge on her that I can.  You got yourself into a mess with a crazy one.  But I applaud you for blocking her.  It’s never easy to get rid of the crazy ones.  She saw you coming, Jack.  She played you a fool, and it’s costing you your marriage.  But you can fix it.  There is still time for my favorite love birds, plus, you kinda make these beautiful kids, and I’m not getting any younger, and my boys aren’t giving me any kids, and neither is Cal, so make this work.  And give us all a baby.”
Jack smiles sheepishly, stuttering as they walk out of the building, “Jackson O’Malley, don’t you want to fully be able to enjoy a pregnancy?  See her swollen with your child, and you get to enjoy every minute of it?  Have her cutting men’s hair with you growing inside of her?  You can deny it, but as much as you love your son, you telling me you haven’t ever thought about another one?”
“I’ve always been afraid I’d screw them up,” Elaine scoffs, looking at Jack.  Rolling her eyes, and then she looks back at Finn laughing as TJ tries to tickle him.
“You and her made a happy baby.  One that has remained pretty happy despite everything that was going on.  That kid — he’s a product of the two of you.  And your village, and I am so happy to be a part of that village.  Jack, we all screw our kids up in some way.  But that’s life.  We just help them learn how to navigate those difficult times, and somehow you two have managed to do that with Finn.  You have made this separation as smooth as possible for him.  But there’s still hope for you two.  I’m not saying my adopted daughter is finished with dating.  I’m saying she’s going to date until she finds someone that she thinks could replace you.  That’s why they’ve failed.  Head high.  Keep reminding her of why she fell in love.  And let’s go eat.”
“Thanks, Elaine,” Jack was sincere in his words.  Elaine was a mother to all of them, and always had the most sound advice.  She never let her emotions get too involved.  She spoke diplomatically, and if she believed that it could work out.  It could.  “And besides, Santa Cal will be coming in a few months.  Finn is convinced that Cal actually knows Santa.”
“Hmm,” Elaine shrugs her shoulders.  “Maybe.  How about, you tell Cal to meet us for lunch.  And just feed me.  I’m getting hungry and have a meeting in an hour.  If I’m hungry, I’m angry.  I’d really hate to see your mistake when I’m angry.  I won’t wait for her to text or call.”
Jack shoots a quick text to Cal before yelling to Finn and TJ.  He opens the door for Elaine, before walking to the other side.  He wasn’t sure why, possibly the finality of Robyn’s harassment, or the fact he did believe that the two of you had a chance, but he had a calm surrounding him.  Had thoughts of renewing your vows, maybe even getting a real wedding this time.  Thoughts of bringing up the subject of kids to you — if you were both aware you were back together.
He looks back at Finn in the mirror quickly, he really was an awesome kid.  He had to take some credit in that, even if you were the one that deserved most the credit.  Knowing that you had deleted the dating app, made him feel more comfortable with your safety, but also in knowing you were just about over the dating, or so he hoped.
