Dethvanity is really funny to me conceptually as an episode because you can see how little they had to make the characters insecure about for the bit. They swing for obvious lowblow choices with Pickle' baldness and Nathan's weight and even those require some suspension of disbelief because ok. Sure. Nathan '(said extremely proudly) never skipped a meal in my life!' Explosion is insecure about being a big man now. Nathan *guy who everyone thinks is smoking hot 99% of the time* Explosion is a tiny bit larger than usual and is insecure about it now. Lol. Lmao even.

But anyway then we hit Skwisgaar and Toki and there's like NOTHING to swing for, you can see them going uhhh ok Skwis doesn't sleep he probably drinks a lot of coffee, and Toki? i think a reason unrelated to the story or gameplay that soma is such a comfort game for me is that the sound design is just really relaxing - not the monsters screeching horribly obviously - but like the passive underwater noises, the regulation of our scuba gear/breathing, the doors sliding open with their pleasant little chimes, the pressure rooms in between parts where you're in and out of underwater sections filling or emptying with water - not to mention all the little things you can just interact with throughout the game - it just makes for a very soothing experience personally despite all the scary bits 😂

ohh i love this one........ as many people as i like to pair childe with, zhongchi will always reign superior at the end of the day. and yes exactly!!! i feel like childe is such a 'hospitality as a love language' guy, but especially when it comes to food; so anybody who's a big eater is instantly giving him butterflies or more (plus it makes things easier for him - the way to somebody's heart is through their stomach after all.) i like that zhongli is very particular, picking up on and deeply appreciating all the tiny things that go otherwise unnoticed by everybody else. pointing out and praising the small details in not only how he prepares his dishes, but how he presents them and being able to discern every flavour and taste in what he cooked, would just send childe over the moon ~~

which, vice versa for the second one; zhongli finally meeting somebody who is also deeply passionate about liyue culture!! even if he shows it through slightly messy actions rather than educational rambles, i can picture zhongli just leaning on his palm and sighing at the sight of childe enjoying his country's food so deeply.

which may i add,,,, interesting thought. zhongli is most definitely attracted to his competitive side. which i never considered could land him in such a predicament,,,, especially given thoma's inclinations with food. i Will be shelving this one for further thought and introspection
