spencer reid x fem reader
spencer asks you to marry him and you get married in a quick ceremony (set in like season 11 in my mind)
a little short but silly and fun and i love happy spencer he deserves it
Tumblr media
his ass looks so juicy here
—————
Spencer had been nervously shaking all morning. You were really worried about him. Why is he acting so strangely? You wondered while drinking your own coffee.
“Spence, anything the matter love?” You ask softly as you set his mug of coffee down on the table in front of him.
He just lifts his head and reaches into his pocket nervously. He slowly gets down on one knee in front of you. You realize where this is going and gasp. He pulls out a small black velvet box in the shape of a heart.
When he opens it carefully, there sits your dream ring. It’s absolutely beautiful.
“Will you marry me?” Spencer asked tears flowing from his eyes.
“Yes! Of course I will Spencer!” You jump excitedly.
“I know a pastor that can marry us in an hour if you’d like.”
“But I don’t wanna marry a pastor, I wanna marry you!” You pout.
“What? No that’s not what-,” Spencer starts confused.
“I’m kidding! Of course I want to marry you now!! Let’s go!!” You race to grab your phone and call the closest thing Spencer’s got to a real family. The BAU team.
The team was going to meet you down at the church. You had just snagged a wedding dress quickly from a bridal shop. It was beautiful and exactly what you wanted. You were now in an antique shop.
“Ok so your necklace is the something old, your dress is the something new. All that’s left is something blue and a penny in your shoe.”
You lift your heel so he can slip the penny in your shoe.
“What can we find that’s blue?” You keep looking and find nice cufflinks for Spencer to wear. He was currently looking at vintage suits.
“What do you think?” He holds up a dark blue suit.
“Honey I don’t think you can be my something blue.”
“I just happen like the color though.” He pouts.
“Then it looks very nice. Hey what about this?” You hold up a beautiful antique tiara littered with blue jewels.
“Beautiful. Let’s get it.” You both race to the church and change. The girls help you with your hair and makeup.
Spencer goes ahead to meet the pastor at the altar while you wait at the end of the aisle. The BAU team and a few of your friends are waiting there cheering you both on. The organist plays the wedding march and Rossi takes your arm and walks you down the aisle.
JJ’s son follows as the ring bearer.
You’re crying, Spencer’s crying, Rossi’s crying, everyone’s crying. Even Morgan.
You thank Rossi and step up. Emily, JJ, Tara, and some of your friends are bridesmaids and Penelope, being your maid of honor, lifts your dress’s train and adjusts it. Spencer’s best man is Morgan. Hotch and Will are up there with him.
Spencer takes your hand and you speak your quickly written vows. Then the pastor.
“Do you Dr. Spencer Reid, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
“I do.” Tears are streaming down his face.
“(y/n) do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
“I do.” You’re smiling at him and squeezing his hands.
“You may now kiss the bride.” The pastor smiles proudly.
Spencer kisses you passionately. Then you throw your bouquet to the bridesmaids, Penelope catches it excitedly. Emily doesn’t even try to catch it.
Hotch throws some rice at you guys while laughing. JJ and Will are also throwing some.
Morgan shouts after you guys as you try to escape, “They’re excited to get started on the honeymoon!!”
After you guys leave he turns to Penelope, “Can’t believe the kid finally got hitched!”
That’s just what you guys did, hopped on a flight to anywhere you’ve always dreamed of going, got the biggest honeymoon suite the hotels offered, and enjoyed yourselves.
They lived happily ever after!
The End💘

i hope this was even a little bit fun to read, please let me know if you enjoyed.

[ 23:58pm ] — i love you. remember that.
you and haechan were polar opposites. he was sociable, outgoing, popular, and charmed every person he crosses paths with. he was very ambitious and hardworking and was probably voted most likely to succeed in high school. you, on the other hand, preferred to keep to yourself most of the time, essentially satisfied with mediocrity, and an overall one’s usual plain jane.
you never understood why he liked you in the first place.
the insecurities in your relationship with haechan rarely clog your mind, but when they do, they hit you like a truck. you tended to distance yourself from your boyfriend, wallowing in your own self-pity until he maybe notices and coaxes you out of it.
you wonder how long until his patience with your negativity runs out and leaves you for someone else. someone better.
“you ok?” haechan’s voice snaps you out of your downward spiral. you blinked a few times out of shock, then responded curtly. “yeah, i’m alright.”
haechan narrowed his eyes at you, obviously not believing a word you’re saying. “penny for your thoughts?”
“it’s nothing, hyuck. go back to playing.”
you used his real name. haechan let out a quiet sigh, took off his headphones and squeezed himself next to you on the bed. you swore you could hear jaemin and jeno yelling at him through his headphones for being afk, but before you could point it out, haechan already has you locked in, his arms snaking around your waist and his legs tangled above yours.
“have i ever told you that you’re pretty?” he whispered.
“sometimes.” you hummed.
“maybe i should be saying it more.” he quietly chuckled.
“you don’t have to.”
haechan scooted almost impossibly closer to you, his breath fanning your neck, the distance between your bodies disappearing.
“have i ever told you that i love you?”
you pause for a moment, guilt creeping into your system. “always.” your boyfriend was one who never shyed away from expressing his feelings. he made sure you felt loved, you hear that you’re loved. his one question was a message to you – ‘i love you, yet why do you feel that way?’ why do you feel so insecure in your relationship when he has never failed to appreciate you? to love you?
“i love the way your forehead scrunches up when you focus.” he started, his fingers softly touching and gliding over your bare arms.
“i love the way you get excited when i come home with cheesecake.” he lightly laughed at the thought as his hands travelled up to your face, cupping your cheeks and making you face him. “i love the way you’re so goddamn bad at valorant, yet you play with me when i ask you to.”
“i think about you all the time. your smile, your hands, your face, your laugh. i think about you before i sleep, the moment i wake up, everytime i eat. it’s you that i see. you’re running through my mind all day it’s . . “ he let out a somewhat exasperated sigh. “you’re the only person who makes me this insane, y/n. really.”
“i love you, y/n. you and only you, just the way you are. forever and always.” his voice was much quieter now and his grip around your waist tightened.
“i’m sorry.” was all you could croak out
“it’s okay. i love you. remember that.”
the two of you were silent for a moment. the guilt in your system slowly subsided into feelings of gratefulness – you were thankful he noticed something’s wrong with you quickly, and you were also thankful he knew how to snap yourself out of it.
“wanna watch a movie?” you suggested.
“i’d like that.” he giggled. he slowly snaked himself away from you to get the tv remote, but his movement halted when you called out his name.
“donghyuck?”
his real name. again. he turned back to face you once more.
“i love you, too. forever and always.”
he grinned, moved closer to you and gave you a light peck on the lips.
“i know.”

A Moment | Mick Schumacher x Reader
Tumblr media
summary: what’s going on in Mick’s mind and you meet a little of his world.
author’s note: i found this written in a old notebook and decided to rewrite. there’s no beginning or end, it’s truly just a piece of moment between you too. english isn’t my first language, so please be nice!
warnings: none
Mick Schumacher was something.
He had that smile that could sweep you off your feet. His voice was soft and he loved to show how much he loves you whenever he can. He was a private person, always leaving more questions than answers to the curious ones.
He was your boyfriend. And he could easily be the love of your life.
“Are you coming today?” He asked you, his voice muffled by the shirt he was putting on.
“You want me to?” You raised your voice for him to hear you from the bathroom.
Mick doesn't often invite you to the races. In fact, he doesn’t often invite you to anything that requires any sort of public or social gathering that goes beyond your families. At first, right at the beginning of the relationship, your friends were skeptical of it, trying to open your eyes on how weird it was that your boyfriend never seemed interested in taking you anywhere people could see that he had a girlfriend.
You never gave much thought to it. You trust Mick. You had already noticed how uncomfortable he can get around too many people, or how he looked annoyed with some questions from the journalists or even fans.
“Of course” he made his way towards you, hugging your waist from behind and resting his chin on your shoulder. Ocean blue eyes meeting yours through the mirror.
You tried, but the excitement smile appeared on your face when you saw he truly meant it, “Give me five minutes”
He smiled at your reaction, spinning you to face him. His hands ran through your hair.
“Don’t worry, we have more than five minutes” he gave you forehead a quick kiss.
“Wait, what am I gonna wear?”
“Anything you want, ich liebe dich so wie du bist. You can wear pajamas and would still look beautiful”
Mick smiled and left you alone to get ready. He lied down on bed, following each one of your movements. He found amusing how you tried to do everything at once, mumbling to yourself a full conversation.
He loved these little things about you.
Sometimes, Mick could be found wondering if he was enough for you. When he mentioned this insecurity to his friends, they said he was going crazy, you’re Mick Schumacher, how could you not be enough? they said as if it was clear. As if he, being who he was, meant something.
Then, when alone, trapped inside of his mind (which he knows is always a dangerous thing), he can’t help to think that’s the problem of it all. That if he had a different last name, a different story, things would be easier.
He knows how it’s like to be harassed by the media, treated like a machine or a piece of meat on display for the vultures to eat. Mick grew up like that, having to learn how to talk, walk and act. All the eyes were on him and his family, even before his father’s accident.
Mick wondered if he was selfish by pulling you into his mess. Everyone on his life faced all the bad things a public person, or being related to one, can face: cars chasing them, people camping in front of their house trying to find something to publish about, to create rumors, get information on his private life, on his dad.
Just the thought of something occurring to you was enough to send a shiver down his spine.
“Mick?” you snapped your fingers in front of his face, sitting beside him and caressing his leg. “You’re ok?”
“Just thinking”
“A penny for your thoughts?”
“Not that important” he pulled you to a tight hug.
“You think I look good?”
“I think you look like the bane of my existence and object of my desires” he dramatized, winning a genuine laugh.
“I should never have watched Bridgerton with you” you shook your head and got up, adjusting your outfit. “Now let’s go, big boy! Your team has a race to win!”
“Yes, ma’am!” he pretended to salute you.
The paddock was… energetic, to say at least. You knew that there were gonna be hundreds of people but you never actually managed to get a hold of how many. Part of you were glad Mick hadn't left your side and always kept touching you somewhere, making his presence known. When he went to give some interviews, he had you at his eyesight.
Questions about you popped up now and there, the more respectful ones didn’t ask anything personal and only said they were happy for us. Mick answered everything like he was taught to: answer without exactly answering. But anyone could see the happiness and passion on his face.
Mick introduced you to everyone and you thought how funny and sweet it was that the older ones acted more protectively, like older brothers. And when you got to the Mereces garage, Lewis stole you faster than Mick could notice. He and George were side by side, showing everything to you while your boyfriend took the opportunity to discuss something with the mechanics.
“And Toto and Susie are like his race week mom and dad, when Corinna isn’t here. Gina becomes a little sister too” George explained. You were loving every second of it. For the first time in months, you were completely part of Mick’s world.
“Mick can be very private, we didn’t actually think he would bring you” Lewis admitted, closing half of his jumpsuit and leaving it hanging on his waist.
“I was surprised too, believe me” You turned around to see Mick, unintentionally mimicking his serious frown face. You smiled. God, you truly loved him.
George and Lewis shared a known and amused glance.
A few weeks prior, they found out Mick was in a serious relationship and annoyed the younger one until he opened his mouth and told them everything. Of course George shared it with Carmen. Ocon also started to pick on him on why he hadn't told them anything. And Mick was honest in his answer: he was afraid. It was understandable, everyone has been in that position, sharing the same fears - and they knew it could be trickier to Mick due to his personal reasons.
“He wants to protect you” George smiled “That’s why he doesn’t show you off”
“That and because he’s afraid you’ll notice he’s not that big of a deal” Lewis said playfully and louder for Mick to hear.
“Yeah, I figured” you shrugged. “Not noticing he’s not a big deal, but the protection thing. He worries too much sometimes”
The other two drivers adjusted their posture when noticing their reserve driver was approaching them.
“So… Do you have any siblings or cousins who are as beautiful and nice as you for this guy?” George pointed towards Lewis, who let out a loud and surprised gasp.
“None that are single, sorry Lewis” you laughed, feeling Mick’s arm around your shoulder. You hugged his waist, pulling him closer to your side.
“I’m not a jealous person, so everything should be fine”
“Oh God, shut up” George rolled his eyes and said his goodbyes. Lewis did the same, going to get properly ready.
You could still hear the two discussing something.
“You have a great family here” you comment, looking up to your boyfriend.
“And now you are part of it, so it got a thousand times better” he kissed you.
“You know that I love you, right?”
“But?”
“But now I see how everyone falls for Lewis, like… Wow” you laughed and so did he, remembering a conversation you two had a few nights ago, about how Lewis was the most beautiful driver on the grid “I mean, I knew he was pretty but in person? He’s literally a god!”
“Do I need to be worried or something?” He was facing you now. You tried not to laugh at his attempt to pretend to be angry.
“I mean… do you look hot as he does with the jumpsuit hanging?”
“Wait for tonight and I'll show you, alright?” he whispered in your ear, hugging you closer.
“I think I’m gonna prefer you without it” you whispered back, biting his ear lobe quickly so no one could see it.
“Please, respect the elders!” Toto’s thick accent made you jump in surprise.
“And the single ones!” The social media added.
Mick Schumacher was more than something: he was everything. Your everything.

HOMECOMING
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey, I thought I would try my hand at writing a story about Jake Seresin. Hope you enjoy it.
Pairing: Jake 'Hangman' Seresin x Female reader
Warning: No warnings just fluff.
Word count: 896
A/N: I give no permission for my work to be copied, translated and or posted anywhere else online.
God I can’t believe it is finally happening. After five long months my husband, the one and only Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin, is about to meet his little girl. This has been the hardest deployment yet. Saying goodbye to your husband when you’re seven months pregnant was downright cruel but not as cruel as watching the agony on Jake’s face as he watches me give birth to our baby girl through a computer screen. But in less than ten minutes my family will be whole.
I look around the hanger at all the families waiting for their loved ones to arrive. Children running around the the decorated hanger in their Sunday best. Their mother yelling out for them not get dirty, that daddy will be here soon. I lock eyes with Penny and Mav as I look anywhere but the closed hanger doors because I know if I do I’m going to start crying. God that was meant to stop once I had my little girl. Fuck I ha to blink a couple of times to stop the tears from falling. Penny gives me a big smile as she and Mav walk over to me. “How you doing mama” she asks. “Excited, nervous for some reason. God I can’t wait to Jake holding our little girl” I reply with a watery smile. “Not long now” Mav tells me “Hangman is going to be the first one to land” he informs me “but I don’t tell you that” he says with a wink. I can’t help but laugh at Mav.
Just then I can hear the roaring engines of the jets as they fly closer. As the jets move towards the hangar the noise rises waking the baby up. She lets out a loud annoyed cry that she has been woken up. God she is just like her father who is also grumpy when he is woken up. “Hey now pumpkin, you’re ok. Daddy’s almost here” I tell her as I pick up my eight week old daughter. Rocking her until she stops crying and blinks up at me with her blue eyes that have started to change to her father’s beautiful green colour. “God she is so beautiful” Penny says as she looks down at her “but it’s no wonder when you look at who her parents are”.
I start laughing as I rearrange my sweet baby so I can pick up the sign I had made. A sign that says ‘Welcome home, Daddy. I've waited my whole life to meet you.' “Jake will definitely have his hands full when she gets older” I reply as we walk through the crowd towards to open hanger doors, “ain’t that the truth?” Mav laughs. Just as we get to the doors we see the jets start their descent. Holding my breath as I always do when I watch them start to land. Once they are on the ground I let out my breath. I watch as the pilots start hopping down from their planes.
Tumblr media
As soon as Cyclone gives the all clear I take off running towards Jake. Who when he sees me coming hands off his helmet and running towards us. As we meet in the middle of the tarmac I start crying as his arms wrap around us. I feel safe and complete as his kisses me. “God I missed you sweetheart” he tells me as he presses his lips to my forehead. Just then a little squeak sounds out letting us know that she is doesn’t appreciate being squished between us. “Oh I’m sorry baby girl” I tell her as I move her in my arm. When I look back up at Jake his eyes are on the little girl in my arms. “Come baby girl, let’s introduce you to your daddy” I tell her “Jake I would like to introduce you to your daughter Addison Marie Seresin” I tell him as I place her into his arms. Tears start streaming down his cheeks as he holds her to his chest. He pulls me into him, tucking me into his side as he kisses Addy’s head. “Thank you” he whispers. “You and Addison are the best things that have ever happened to me. I love you Mrs Seresin”. “You’re welcome Mr Seresin. We love you too” I reply with a big smile on my face.
We stay like this in each other’s arms for what feels like eternity before heading back to the hangar where the Navy has put on a welcome home afternoon tea. As we walk up to a familiar group of people Jake calls out “ Guys I would like to introduce you to the newest member of the dagger squad Addison Marie Seresin”. Jake berms with pride as they all fawn over Addy telling us about cute she is. “Hangman your lucky she takes after her mother instead of your ugly mug” Rooster tells him as he give Jake a manly side hug.
I watch my husband and our friends fight over how pretty he is and how our daughter takes after both of us. I can’t believe this is my life now, a husband who I love beyond all belief, even when he is being a dick and a beautiful daughter who I can’t even begin to describe how much I love. I’m the luckiest girl in the world

How Much?!?!
Im wide awake so I’m posting a quick blurb on this really funny TikTok trend I’ve been seeing. I feel like Jack would freak out 🤭
“Baby, can you help me with my hair?” Jack walked into the nursery, fresh out of the shower, his curls still wet. He took a sip from the can of Phocus in his hand. You looked behind you as you propped your phone up on the dresser. “Yes, I just need five minutes to film this TikTok video.”
You pressed record, backing up so your belly was in view as you stood next to a stroller. “Hey guys, it’s Y/N. I am officially eight months pregnant today so I thought I would show you guys some of the things we got for baby girl and her nursery.”
Jack walked out of frame, standing in the doorway, watching you as you recorded.
“The thing I’m most excited about is this $20,000 stroller that I picked out.“
“$20K?!?” Jack choked on his drink as he registered the price, sending him into a coughing fit. “Can you repeat that price again? I don’t think I heard you right.”
“Jack, I’m trying to record a video.” You rolled your eyes, pretending to be annoyed at his interruption, before turning back to the camera. You hadn’t even spent close to that amount on the stroller, but you loved to see his blood pressure rise when you pranked him.
“I don’t care. What the hell is so special about that stroller that it costs that much money?” His voice raised an octave and you could see his face start to flush red with anger.
“Well, it has leather and you can change the seat so you can use it as the baby gets older. It’s really an investment piece.” You cleared your throat in hopes of stifling your laughter.
“At that price it better raise the baby too! We can save money on a nanny.” Jack tan his fingers through his hair, trying to calm his breathing. “Why did you spend that much money on a stroller?”
“I’m sorry, it just really made me happy. I’ve been through so much, carrying your baby for the last eight months”, you sniffled, turning on the water works.
Jack’s face softened as he saw you grow upset. “Ok, don’t cry. If it makes you happy, then I don’t care what the price is.” He swallowed, hoping that he was convincing.
“Thank you, baby.” You puckered your lips, giving him a quick kiss.
“It really is a nice stroller.” Jack admitted, not sure if it was to reassure you or himself. “Everyone go out and buy Phocus, it’s going to fund my wife’s shopping habits.” Jack let out a humorless laugh, turning the can in front of the camera so the brand name was revealed.
“Ok, that’s enough. It was a joke, Jack.” He looked at you with narrowed eyes, not sure if he should believe you. “I can show you the receipt, I would never spend that much money on a stroller.” You chuckled, rubbing your belly.
“Not funny, mama. You know I don’t like saying no to you, but $20K is ridiculous for a stroller.” He walked over to you, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“I know. I’m sorry. Like I said, I would never spend that much money on a stroller. Now $30K for this crib, that was worth every penny.” You giggled as Jack spit out his drink across the room.

Why Me? - Part 5
Pairing: Bob Floyd x Mitchell! Female Reader (Callsign Mantis)
Warnings: Cursing, insecurities, pining, mommy/daddy issues, dirty jokes, mentions of death, mentions of being drunk/drinking, angst, forbidden relationship, Rooster (he's gonna be his own warning from now on)
Word Count: 5141
Summary: You can't get enough of Bob, and it seems he can't get enough of you either. You finally get to meet Phoenix's girlfriend, all while trying to sort out your own complicated feelings for each other.
A/N: I am loving all the reblogs and likes, and I apologize this took me so long! Things are starting to get a little more angsty, but I am SO excited for the next part so please stay tuned! I should have that one out a lot sooner than it took me to get this one out.
Masterlist
You scrunch your eyebrows, taking a look around the parking lot and back to Bob’s heaving form. “Brunch?”
“Yeah”, he breathes, “Phoenix was thinking of getting together so I thought-”
“Ok.” You cut him off. He raises his eyebrows at you.
“Really?”
“Yeah”, you smile. “Just as long as Phoenix is ok with me coming.” Bob continues to rest his hands in the window of your car as you grip your steering wheel tighter so as to not reach out and touch him like you so desperately want to. This man should really cover his hands in public, it’s indecent.
“Of course.” He takes a second just to look at you and that small smile on your face. It was much better than the look you had when Penny stopped by your table. Realizing he’d been staring for too long he clears his throat. “Yeah, so I’ll- I’ll text you later and then- then see you tomorrow.”
“Sounds great”, you smile. Throwing caution to the wind you pat his hand, “Thanks Bobby.” You say it with sincerity, hoping he’ll notice just how thankful you are for him.
Bob’s resolve immediately melts at your name for him as he feels the tension leave his shoulders, “No problem”, he barely makes out. And then you’re finally out on the road, driving home. Watching you leave, he makes a call to Phoenix. He’s smiling as he does so, the last time you called him Bobby was last night when he was falling asleep next to you, your hand resting on his chest-
“Bob, what’s up?” Phoenix's voice breaks him out of his memory.
“Hey, is it alright if Mantis comes to brunch with us tomorrow?”
“Really?” “Yeah”, he begins fiddling with the side mirror of his truck hoping she’ll say ‘yes’. “I mean I kind of already invited her, and she’s all alone this weekend.”
“I mean, I was gonna introduce her to Rachel anyway, but when I made these plans you couldn’t even look her in the eye. Let alone have a conversation with her.” Even though Phoenix can’t see him, she knows he’s feeling embarrassed. “But I guess after sharing a bed together-”
“Is that a yes?” He cuts her off.
“Yes, Floyd. Now I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“See ya’.” Well perfect, now he can see you again tomorrow. And then everyday at work after that. Where he promised to not ghost you. How could he possibly stop talking to you now? It was like you turned on a faucet, you got him started and he can’t stop. But now he had to text you, not right now obviously. He didn’t want to seem too eager, he’ll just have to drive home, wait the appropriate amount of time to make it seem like he was calling Phoenix, and then text you.
It was about an hour after you got home that Bob texted you to let you know everything was good for tomorrow. You couldn’t help but feel a little giddy that he wanted to spend more time with you so soon. And you very quickly attempted to tamp that feeling down. This was a nice budding friendship, best not to ruin it with your feelings about him and how hot he looks in jeans and a t-shirt (or anything really). Or how his eyes sparkle up close, or how you want to map out each and every freckle on his face- no, you weren’t going to think about that.
That was until you were getting ready to go to sleep and you found the sweatpants you had lent him. Still neatly folded and clean, just the way he gave them back to you. You run your hand over the soft material, as if he were still in them. Drawing your hand back, you take them off the pillow and bring them to your nose. Thank goodness, they still smelled like him. Staring down to the pillow they were just sitting on, you lean forward and take a sniff of that as well. Oh dear lord that smells like him, too.
Ok maybe that’s a problem. Shaking your head, sweatpants in hand, you take them to your dresser and put them away. You climb under the sheets and face his pillow. It didn’t matter what you did now to try and make his scent go away, it was always going to be his pillow. The one he slept on after you begged him to stay. After he made sure you were home safe. You slide your hand out from under your comforter and lay it on the pillow. Taking in a deep breath, you close your eyes as your mind wanders. Whether you want it to or not.
The next morning you spend a little extra time getting ready. You pin it all on the fact that you haven’t been out a lot lately, and any excuse to wear a sundress is a good one. You and Bob decide to meet Phoenix at the restaurant, you still feel bad he was practically your chauffeur the past two days. You swipe on some mascara before you run out the door, making your way to the restaurant. Phoenix had told you a little bit about the girl she was seeing, not wanting to make a big deal out of it before it was something serious. You could tell by the way she talked about her that she was down bad. When she was vulnerable, Phoenix liked to hide behind a facade, but there was no way she could hide how much she liked Rachel.
It’s a busy Sunday as you find a place to park and make your way to the building. Bob texted to let you know he was waiting outside for you, and even through the line of people it’s not hard to spot him from behind. He’s wearing a pair of light khaki pants, with a blue button up shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his forearms. Oh god those forearms. That’s going to be a problem. You shake your head, walking up to him and tapping his broad shoulder. He turns and smiles, his eyes widening once he glances up and down your form, fitted underneath the floral dress you chose. The blue flowers almost a perfect match for the color of his shirt. His mouth remains slightly open as he gazes at your attire, “Wow.”
“Is it too much?” You ask. Concerned, you stare down at the outfit you chose today. Maybe you had overdressed for the occasion.
“No”, he responds immediately, “not at all. It’s perfect- you look amazing.” You avoid his gaze again, hoping he doesn’t see the flush you feel dusting your cheeks.
“Thanks, you don’t look too bad yourself. I’m glad you got the memo about wearing blue today.” He looks down at his shirt, smiling to himself.
“Yeah, I didn’t want to feel left out.” He looks back up with a crooked smile as you mirror his expression. “Anyway, Phoenix and Rachel should be here soon, I’ve already got us a table reserved, they just needed more than one person to seat us.”
“Lead the way.” Bob ushers you inside, opening the door like the true gentleman he is. And when the waitress leads you to your table his hand hovers behind your lower back, never touching. He even goes so far as to pull out your chair for you, tucking you back into the table once you’re sat. You begin to look over the menus together as Bob’s hand sits on the back of your chair. You’re not sure if he’s fully aware of what he’s doing, but you aren’t going to mention it, afraid that if you do he’ll pull away. “So how’s Sylvia doing?”, you ask, taking a sip from your water. Bob looks up and smiles at the fact you remembered the name of his precious baby, despite having learned it almost a week ago in a fleeting conversation.
“She’s doing good, still a little skittish around new people, but we’re working on that.”
“Sounds like her dad”, you respond. He lets out a small laugh and scratches the back of his neck with the hand that was previously on your chair.
“What can I say? It must be genetic.” You laugh through your nose as his hand returns right behind your back.
“Well, if she’s anything like you, once you get through the initial shyness, there is no turning back.”
“Really, no turning back?”
“Nope.” You respond, popping the ‘p’.
Just looking at you in the morning light makes Bob want to tell you how much the last couple days have meant to him. The fact that you set time aside especially for him on Friday, and then continued to want to get to know him makes him feel special. You make him feel special, and he hopes he does the same for you. It’s not even the first time now as you tell him you’re not going anywhere, that he’s wanted to confess. Since being assigned to the initial mission, every time that you’ve gone out of your way to try and talk to him he thought it was out of pity, or obligation. But he’s now realizing you did it because you’re a nice person, a good person who wanted to get to know him. Bob hasn’t come across that kind of pure intention a lot in his lifetime. Learning to put up walls to keep himself safe. But you make him feel safe, like he could tell you anything. Well, almost anything.
You’ve since looked back down at the menu, but his eyes have stayed on you. He’s trying to be discreet about it, but it’s hard when you look absolutely stunning. It’s the first time he’s seen you in a dress, but he’s certainly hoping it’s not the last. Bob never went to a high-school dance, and now as you sit before him he can’t help but imagine taking you to one. You’d probably been to all of them, with a handsome date hanging on your arm. He wishes he could have met you when he was younger, saved him from being ditched by Mandy Harrison. But he doesn’t like to think about her. He’s with you, and as he looks up at the door behind your head he realizes he’s also with Phoenix and Rachel. He waves them over as you look up from your menu to greet them.
Rachel is just as gorgeous as Phoenix described, only a couple inches shorter, with flowing ginger hair. The two of them donne sundresses as well, making you smile even wider at their arrival. You stand to greet the two, hugging Phoenix while trying to discreetly whisper in her ear, “Well done.” She laughs as you move on to Rachel who already has her arms open to greet you as if you were already friends.
“You must be Mantis, it’s so nice to meet you!”
“You as well!” you say as you break apart, “I’d say you’re even more beautiful than Phoenix described, but you live up to the expectations of ‘the most gorgeous woman to ever walk the earth’” Rachel blushes as Phoenix gives you a playful glare.
“And you of course must be Bob”
“Must be”, Bob lets out as he accepts his own hug. He seemed surprised to say the least, but not unwelcome. As you sit back down, Bob tucks your chair back in for you as you look back and give him a small thank you. “Any time”, he says just loud enough for you to hear.
You look back to the menu, trying with all your might to not notice that Bob’s hand is still on the back of your chair.
“So how long have you two worked with Nat, or Phoenix as I should say?” Rachel asks.
“Well, Nat and I actually went to the Academy together. She was a year ahead of me, but she made my time there a lot more interesting.” You respond with a small laugh.
“Hey, I’m not the one who got absolutely wasted on her 21st birthday and had to sneak back into her bunk.” Phoenix retaliates with a playful glare.
“And who’s idea was it to go out in the first place? Huh?” She surrenders as her arms go up, giving you a small smile. You remember Your 21st birthday quite well. Once again your dad was deployed, still believing you were attending UVA rather than the Naval Academy. He had always promised to take you out for your first drink, so when Nat found you in your dorm wiping away tears, she vowed to make your birthday one you would never forget. Turns out you did forget a lot of it, blacking out about halfway through the night, waking up the next morning not sure how you got back in your room. Still, she made you feel important on a day you were expecting to wallow in your room alone.
“I wasn’t about to let you spend the night of your 21st alone in your room, crying.” Bob furrows his brow as you send an indignant smile over to Phoenix.
“Why were you crying?” Bob asks as you turn back to him.
“Oh, it was nothing. Just- my dad always said he would take me out for my first drink, but he was in the middle of the Pacific at the time.”
“I’m sorry” Bob gives you. And even though it was something he had no control over, and he didn’t even know you at the time, his apology is so genuine. As if he was the one who made you cry.
“I’m fine, it was like a million years ago, and Nat made my night better.” As Bob smiles and nods, you give him one final look before glancing back at the couple.
Rachel gives you a smile before kissing her cheek, “I’m not surprised she would do that. She’s always making my day better, too.” You can’t help but notice the small blush that creeps up her cheeks at the sentiment. It’s nice to see her a little less serious, more comfortable being a little vulnerable. “Anyway, Bob, how long have you known Nat?”
“I met her when this detachment started, a few months now. I didn’t know anybody in our squad actually”
“But we got to know each other real quick”, Phoenix chimes in, “You have to place a lot of trust in each other when you’re operating the same plane.” The waitress makes her way back over as she grabs your orders and menus from you, leaving once more.
“So you two hadn’t met each other before this detachment?” Rachel asks as she points between you and Bob.
“No”, you laugh as you look at Bob, “And I feel like I’m just barely getting to know him.”
“Yeah, this weekend definitely served as a bonding experience” Bob smiles right alongside you.
“Oh yeah”, Phoenix smirks, “I heard about your little ‘sleep-over’”. Your eyes snap from Bob’s to hers, as she eyes you from over the rim of her glass. He moves to take a large sip of his water to avoid tripping over his own words. But as you’re opening your mouth to say something Rachel pipes up from beside Phoenix.
“Oh! Are you two dating?”, she asks excitedly.
“What?”  Your eyes widen at her as Bob chokes on his water, immediately garnering all your attention. He begins to cough as you pat at his back, Bob waves you off, once he catches his breath. Realizing you’re still rubbing at his back you immediately withdraw your hand and look back to Rachel. “No, no. We are not dating”, you reiterate. “Bob drove me home because I was drunk, and stayed the night to make sure I was ok because otherwise I would have been alone.” You know you’re explaining this to Rachel as she nods at your explanation, but you can’t help but try to understand your own words in the back of your head. Bob only stayed because he’s a good person and your friend. That is it. And that’s all he’s ever going to be.
“I was just joking around”, Phoenix tells her girlfriend, “Mantis’ dad happens to be our Captain and I was giving Bob a hard time about it yesterday.” In all the commotion Bob’s hand left your chair, and now both sit in his lap as he stares down at them. Right in the nick of time, the waitress brings out everyone’s food diverging the previous conversation. It isn’t until everyone has had time to eat a couple bites that Phoenix starts talking again. “Besides, dating or ‘fraternization’ as the Navy loves to call it, is strictly frowned upon. If anyone in our squad broke that rule, they’d be out in a second flat.” You force yourself to swallow the bite of french toast in your mouth, pushing it down into the pit that had become your stomach. You nervously glance out of the corner of your eye to see Bob’s fork full of food that he has not yet brought to his mouth. He sits there for a good few seconds before finally deciding to take a drink of water instead.
The rest of your meal isn’t as chaotic as you talk to Rachel about how she and Phoenix met (Rachel nearly ran her over while roller blading at Mission Beach). Bob speaks when necessary, but the two of you don’t say much. Especially not to each other. There was a definitive shift in the energy, one that you’re not sure if you’re responsible for. Phoenix doesn’t mention it if she notices, you’re hoping she doesn’t as she focuses her attention back to Rachel and smiles.
It’s only when your half of the bill comes that Bob picks it up immediately. There’s not even enough time to find your purse before he places his card inside and hands it back to the waitress.
“Hey-” You start
“I told you I’d get the next one.” Your brows are furrowed as he looks at your expression. He knows you want to be mad at him, but he can’t help but smile at the look of determination on your face.
“Fine” you relent. The previous conversation doesn’t loom so large over your heads now. It’s just you and Bob. Best friends apparently. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! You’re glad to call Bob your friend. He’s smart, funny, kind, insightful, cute, quite possibly the most handsome man you have ever met- You shut your eyes, hard. Trying to visibly shake the thoughts from your mind.
Your thoughts are broken by the sound of chairs scraping the floor. You get up and follow the rest of your party to the entrance, Bob following shortly behind you, hands still at his sides. You bid the couple goodbye, letting Rachel know how wonderful it was to meet her. They walk back to their car, leaving you and Bob at the front of the restaurant.
“Thanks for the meal, and the invite”, you tell Bob. Feeling a little uncomfortable in your own skin at the moment.
“You’re welcome, I’m glad you could come”, he gives you a shy smile as he stuffs his hands in his pockets.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then?”
“Yeah, see ya tomorrow” You both turn to walk your separate ways, only making it a few more feet before you turn around and yell.
“Hey Floyd?” He turns around at your call, “Don’t ghost me tomorrow.” He gives you a slight smile and nods before you move to walk to your car.
“Hey Mitchell?” You stop at the sound of his voice, “I already promised I wouldn’t. And I don’t break my promises.” Both of you give each other one last smile before you’re off.
True to his word, when you arrive on base the next day Bob greets you with a smile as you take a seat behind him. He turns toward you, asking how your weekend was as if he wasn’t with you the entire time. It’s only when Rooster walks in that you decide to take the conversation in a separate direction. Whether it be the fact that him and your dad went out yet again without inviting you, or just the fact that you can’t stand to look at him, you were going to ruffle his feathers. “My weekend was pretty good, beat this chump in pool.” You’re speaking a little louder now, hoping that he’ll hear you. And by the fact that he turns his head in your direction once he sits down you know he has. “It’s alright though, he learned his lesson.”
You can hear Rooster huff as he shakes his head. “At least I can hold my liquor.” You turn completely in his direction as he glares at you.
“Oh yeah? Is that why you lost?” He shakes his head again as he starts flipping through his papers.
“You just don’t know when to quit, do you?” More of the squad who had yet to arrive begin filtering through the door as your conversation gains an audience.
“Haven’t quit yet, might explain why I also haven’t lost yet either.” There’s a glint of something in his eyes, as if he knows what he’s about to say next will push you over the edge. Hopefully rendering you speechless for once. He knows it’s going to hurt, and that’s exactly why he’s going to say it.
“Is that why you didn’t fly on our last mission?” It hits you exactly where he intended it to. You square your jaw as the ghost of a smirk takes over his face. His eyes are still set on yours as if he’s daring you to say something else. You can hear the snickers of others as Hangman lets out a low whistle.
“Maybe if I did, everyone would have made it back to the carrier the first time around.” You grit the statement out as you watch Rooster’s nostrils flare. He sets down whatever reports he was about to start working on and stands, heading to your seat. You stand as he gets closer, not allowing him to look down at you anymore than he already has. “If it wasn’t for me your dad would be rotting in enemy territory.”
“If it wasn’t for you and your shitty flying he wouldn’t have been shot down in the first place.” The silence in the room is palpable, you could almost hear everyone’s eyes flick between you and Rooster. Waiting to see what would happen next. Any sense of messing around is lost on your faces as you square off. This was getting personal, and it was getting personal fast. “I’m surprised you didn’t just leave him behind again.” You move to sit down, noticing Bob has been standing behind you the entire time. “That’s the one thing you’re good at.” You look to the folder of your upcoming flight maneuvers in your hands, not even giving Rooster the decency of giving him your full attention as he scoffs. Before he’s even able to give you a comeback, your dad waltzes up to his podium with a smile on his face until he notices the energy in the room. He stops and takes a look around, noticing Rooster with a stormy look on his face, one that he is all but used to.
“Everything alright?”, he asks, completely oblivious once again.
“Just peachy”, you respond, not looking up from your papers. Rooster and the rest of the team make their way back to their seats as Bob turns around.
“Hey, are you ok?” You take in a deep breath and look up at his concerned face.
“I’m great, ready to kick some ass.”
“Seems like you already did.” He mutters with a small smile, turning to face your father. You let a breath out of your nose as you try to hold back your own small smile.
It’s hard not to be happy when he looks at you. Wide blue eyes and his own crooked smile. It’s dangerous, you think, how often you’ve been close to getting lost in them. And now they’re staring back at you a lot more. As you’re lost in your own thoughts of the blue-eyed beauty in front of you, you can’t feel the pair of brown eyes watching you from under a furrowed brow.
“Alright aviators”, your dad begins, “We are going to be trying out some new maneuvers this week if the weather permits. A supposed hurricane should be blowing in the next few weeks, that means we’re going to start them and execute as soon as we can. Am I understood?”
A chorus of “Yes, sir” is heard as he moves on.
The rest of the week goes off without a hitch. You’ve been flying at your best with the new maneuvers Mav assigned, and you’ve spoken to Bob every single day. He’s stayed when you sat down with Phoenix during lunch. He might be talking to Fanboy, but you catch each other's eyes every single time. He’s even started saving a seat for you right next to him, but you didn’t need to know that.
“Hey can I sit here”, Fanboy asks him as he kicks the seat next to him. Bob looks up with a slight grimace.
“Actually, I’m saving that for Mantis. You can pull up a chair though.”
“Are you serious?” Fanboy huffs out a laugh.
“What?”
“You could barely even talk to her two weeks ago. And now you’re saving her a seat?” Bob rubs the back of his neck as he looks around to find an empty seat for Mickey.
“Here, I’ll go grab one for you.” Fanboy simply nudges him to sit back down.
“Nah, it’s fine. If you wanted to get on Mav’s good side you could've just told me.” He laughs. As he walks away Bob’s brain starts running a mile a minute. Is that what everyone thought? That he was only your friend because he wanted to get on Mav’s good side? That’s not the reason at all. The reason he wanted to be your friend is because you are someone he likes to be around. In fact, he doesn’t even think about your dad anymore, he tries his darndest not to. Especially when he’s thinking about how he wants to kiss you and-
“Hey”, you say as you take the seat next to him. “Everything alright?” Without unfurrowing his brow he stares at you and lets his thoughts bubble out.
“I don’t want you to think that I’m your friend because I want to be on your dad’s good side.” Your sandwich stops halfway to your mouth as you stare at him. “Apparently that’s what some people think, but I want you to know that’s not the case.” You set your food down, reaching out to rest your hand on top of his.
“I believe you.” Bob lets out a breath of relief at your admission. He blinks a couple of times as he looks at you with a soft smile. It wasn’t just the fact that you seemed to have a sort of blind faith in him, but he felt he had one toward you as well. It felt good to be able to share that sort of trust with someone. He obviously shares some with Phoenix, as they have to rely on each other to fly a jet, but with you it felt more… intimate. He didn’t even know you completely as a person, and yet he would trust you with his entire life and more. He instinctively squeezes the hand you laid on top of his, and looks down at it. It feels right. That is until Phoenix and Rooster plop their trays of food down at the table. Your hand immediately leaves his as you go back to poking your sandwich. You don’t even look up as they drag their own chairs over to sit at your table.
Bob gladly smiles at Phoenix, while begrudgingly doing the same to Rooster. He never had anything against the man until this weekend. Now he couldn’t stand to look at him, but he still had manners. He notices you stop attempting to eat your food, now just picking at the bread at this point. As if Rooster’s appearance made you lose your appetite.
“Hey”, he quietly asks, trying to get your attention, “Are you doing anything later?”
“No”, you whisper back, “Why?”
“Well, Sylvia’s been asking to meet you.” This causes you to crack a smile as you nod in serious consideration.
“Have you been telling her about me?” Even though Bob knows you’re joking, you don’t know that there is some truth behind your question.
“Maybe. I had to tell her why I didn’t come home last Friday night and now you’re all she can talk about.” You try to hide your smile by staring down at your feet, but Bob can see right through it.
“She’s been thinking about me a lot then?” You glance a peak at Bob as he holds your gaze.
“Yeah”, he breathes out, “In fact, you’re all she’s been able to think about.” Bob can feel his heart speed up as you lift your head to give him your full attention, even if you’re still trying to hide your beautiful smile.
“I’ve been thinking about her a lot, too.” And even though he knows he’s not talking about his dog, he only wishes you weren’t either.
“You wanna come over today and meet her then?”
“Yeah, that’d be great.” You’re resting your face in your chin as you bite your cheek in an attempt to stifle your smile. Bob wishes you’d allow yourself to smile fully, but he still thinks you’re just as cute like this.
“Hey Bob”, he flicks his gaze over to Phoenix as Rooster watches the two of you with an indifferent gaze. “You been on any dates lately?”, she asks, taking him completely by surprise as he lets out a small snort.
“Uh, no. No I have not.”
“Listen, I’m throwing a little get-together-
“Party”, Rooster coughs out.
“Get-together”, she emphasizes, “next weekend, and Rachel has a friend that she thinks would be perfect for you.”
“For me?”, Bob asks with wide eyes.
“Yeah you.” Bob can’t help but look over as you begin to pick at your nails, not too interested in the conversation at the table before you.“I don’t know Phoenix-” “Listen, she’ll be at the party. Nothing has to happen, but I just thought it would be a good opportunity for you to meet her.” He looks between Phoenix and Rooster, watching as Rooster leans back in his seat, eyes still glued to you. “Just think about it.”

I Thought I’d Lost You
Pairing: Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin x Reader
This is my first ever Top Gun fic so I’m really excited to see what you guys think of it. Please feel free to let me know what you think or any improvements and as always requests are always open.
Summary: Hangman has been in love with you for years but has never wanted to admit it. After a near fateful accident however he realise he needs to live everyday like his last. Your call sign is Rebel.
Tumblr media
“So when are you gonna tell her.” Rooster smiled, leaning back in his deckchair. You were standing chatting to Phoenix and Coyote further down the beach. You had your hair pulled back into a ponytail and it swayed as you laughed, throwing your head back at something Phoenix had said.
“Tell who what?” Jake laughed, looking down into his beer bottle. “What are you on about Rooster.” He knew exactly who Rooster was talking about and he watched you spray the sun cream up your arm. He watched as it glistened over your tanned skin.
“You know damn well what I’m on about. Don’t give me that look. You follow her round like a lost puppy, you’re so in love with her and you just won’t admit it will you?”
“Who Rebel?” Hangman asked in mock shock. “I am not in love with Rebel. We’re just friends. Ok.” He glared at Rooster.
“Ok. Ok.” Rooster put his hands up in surrender, standing up from his deck chair. “Your gonna have to tell her at some point man. You can’t hide your feelings forever.”
………………………………………………………………………………….
Later that evening Jake offered to walk you home, it was only a 20-minute walk from the bar but he had insisted. Phoenix had already dropped off Bob and Coyote, Fanboy and Payback had left earlier and Rooster was hanging out with Maverick at the bar.
The evening air was cool as you left the warm glow of the Hard Deck behind and made your way out into the gloomy car park. You walked together in silence for most of the journey, occasionally commenting on what happened in training that day or your friend's antics that evening. You could feel the butterflies fluttering around your stomach every time you swung your arm, gently brushing your fingertips together. You could feel the sweat trickling down your forehead as your mind racing at a million miles an hour. Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin was walking you home. This man was a chiselled god and he was walking you home.
Jake kept looking down at you and when you caught his gaze he smiled sweetly, the corners of his eyes wrinkling slightly. His tanned skin glowed in the dim light of the street lamps.
Jake couldn’t believe his luck, the girl he had been in love with since the first day he met her was letting him walk her home. For once he didn’t mean anything by it, no hidden agenda. He just wanted you to get home safe and the little alone time was a bonus.
“Well, this is me”. You said, pointing towards your rental unit. It was plain and white and identical to all the others in this row, except for the flowers outside. “Thanks for walking me back. I didn’t want to have to wait for Mav to give me a ride. I think he has plans with Penny anyway.”
“No problem. I wasn’t gonna leave a lovely lady such as yourself stranded.” He flirted shamelessly with you. Laughing you began to make your way up the steps.
“Goodnight Jake. I’ll see you tomorrow”
“Night (y/n).”
He watched as you walked up the steps, opening the door and closing it softly behind you. At that moment, Jake knew he was done for. He had never walked a girl home before without going inside. Maybe Rooster was right. Maybe he was in love with you.
………………………………………………………………………………….
“I think you need to tell him,” Phoenix said, slamming the door to her locker rather abruptly and grabbing her helmet off the bench.
“Tell him what Phoenix, there nothing to tell. He’s my friend and that’s all it will ever be ok.” You said rather more harshly than you would have liked to.
Phoenix looked at you sadly. “I hate to see you wallowing in your feelings (y/n). You’re like a completely different person with him, so bright and happy. I want you to be happy all the time, you’re my best friend and you have fawned over Jake Seresin for 5 years. It’s time to get a piece of that fine ass of his. Don’t think I haven’t noticed you looking at it.” You both laughed and you couldn’t help but picture Jake that day on the beach playing dogfight football.
“You are my best friend (y/n) and I love you and I’ll support whatever you do ok. And just know if he breaks your heart I will kill him.”
“Thanks, Nat.” You pulled your fellow pilot into a tight hug. Maybe she was right, maybe you should just step up and tell Jake how you felt.
“Come on Mav will be waiting for us and I swear to god if I have to do 200 push-ups again I think I might die.”
“Yeah me too. God, I still ache from yesterday.”
You made your way out of the locker room and down the hall toward the hangers. Once outside you could see the boys all lined up waiting for you. Maverick was giving them some kind of pep talk. Jake turned when he saw you coming and smiled brightly at you. You smiled back.
“Just think,” Phoenix whispered in your ear, “If you finally tell hangman how you feel maybe he’ll give you a nice massage after your 200 push-ups.” She smirked mischievously at you and evaded your arms as you swatted at her.
“Phoenix. Rebel. Nice of you to finally join us.” Maverick said as they all turned to look at you.
Oh boy, here we go again.
………………………………………………………………………………….
Training had been going well so far. Everyone had been flying better and Mav seemed in a relatively good mood. You were teamed up with Phoenix and Bob today and the banter was flying between you. Even Bob joined in. Everything had gone to plan until the bird strike. Your left engine had been hit and was now on fire. “Turning off left engine. Igniting fire.” You spoke into your mask. That’s when the right engine went up in flames. You did the same as you had with the left before trying to restart them. By this point, your plane was plummeting towards the ground.
‘ALTITUDE!ALTITUDE! PULL UP! PULL UP!‘ it repeated. You remembered the control plane became a flame with warning lights.
“REBEL YOU CANT SAVE THIS! EJECT! EJECT!” Maverick was shouting in your ear. Without a second thought, you grabbed the ejection handle beneath your seat and went hurtling out the top of the plane. Your landing was rough and you hit the ground hard. You distinctly remember someone shouting in your ear before everything went dark.
………………………………………………………………………………….
“Mav tell me what happened? Is she ok? She has to be ok. I can't… I can't.” Jake's eyes welled with tears. He couldn’t think straight, his mind spinning out of control. As soon as he saw Phoenix and Bob land with no sign of you he knew something was wrong. Once Maverick opened the canopy of his plane, Jake had set about rambling incoherently.
Maverick had managed to get him back to the hangers and sat him down.
“There was a bird strike. Rebel’s plane was hit and she had to eject. Her landing was pretty rough. The med evacuation team picked her up and she has be taken to the on-base hospital. They said that her condition is currently stable although she did sustain trauma to her head and she’ll be grounded for a while. Hey Hangman… Jake, you ok?” Maverick waved his arm in Jake’s face as he blinked slowly.
“Umm, I think so. Can I see her?” Maverick could see the tears waiting to overflow in the young man’s eyes, his face pale and his knee bouncing anxiously under the table.
“Yeah, course you can. Take the rest of the day off ok. I’ll let Cyclone know.”
“Thank you, Sir.” He stood up slowly, making his way toward the hospital.
“And Hangman.” Maverick's voice called after him.
“Yes Sir.” Jake whipped around quickly.
“Tell her you’re in love with her for Christ's sake. I can’t stand much more of that pitiful look you give her. I also have a bet going with Rooster and if you tell her by the end of the week he owes me 50 bucks.”
“Hang you bet on us. What the… you know what I don’t even care right now. Tell Rooster he owes you Mav.”
………………………………………………………………………………….
The first thing Jake noticed as he entered the hospital was the smell. It hit him as soon as he walked through the doors. Clinical. He remembered it from when he visited his grandparents when he was little and he hated hospitals ever since. Your room was easy to find. Most of the nurses knew him from his endless flirting and were happy to assist him, although their faces did drop when they realised it was a girl he was here to see. Jake wasn’t in the mood to flirt with them, he only had you on his mind and so thanked them quietly when they left him at your door.
He stood there for a good 5 minutes contemplating whether to open it or not.
‘Come on Jake you got this. Just go in there and confess your undying love to the girl of your dreams. What could go wrong.’ With that, he abruptly opened the door and sent it flying back on its hinges with a loud bang.
You jumped slightly from your position on your bed, tucked up amongst the white sheets.
You smiled at him as he glanced around the room, looking a little shocked.
“You always did know how to make an entrance Seresin.” You laughed as you watched his bewildered expression, before racing towards your bed and engulfing you in a bear hug.
“God I thought I’d lost you.” He sobbed into your hair. You could feel his strong body shaking against you as you wrapped your arms around his back, rubbing gently.
“It’s ok shh. I’m ok.” You sat like this for a while as Jake’s sobs slowly became quiet whimpers. You were shocked, to say the least, you knew Jake liked you, and you guys got on well as friends but this reaction was something else. Maybe your feelings weren’t so unrequited.
“Jake,” you said slowly, easing him slowly back and peeling his arms off you, taking his hands into your lap. “Jake,” you repeated, placing your fingers gently under his quivering chin so he’d look at you. “Are you ok?”
He laughed harshly, wiping snot from his nose, “You're asking me if I’m ok. (Y/n) you’re the one that had to eject from your plane. You’re the one who’s in hospital and you’re worried about me. God, I love you.” He snapped his jaw shut so quickly it clicked. Your face slowly contorted into a look of shock as the information sunk it. ‘He what!’
Jake realising that he had just blurted out his biggest secret ever, slowly lent back from you bringing his hand up and running it furiously through his blonde hair.
“God (y/n)… I’m…” but you cut him off, crashing your lips to his. Slinging your hand around his neck dragging him closer and grabbing a handful of his blonde hair. Jake was still above you, completely in shock. Your lips felt so soft against his, moving so passionately but why wasn’t he kissing you back? His brain kicked into action and he began to move his lips against yours, moulding perfectly. Your mouths fought for dominance but Jake’s ultimately won and he forced his tongue into your mouth. The kiss was heated as you both poured all your feelings from the past 5 years into it. All those nervous glances and gentle touches, all those times of ‘what if’ had finally come down to this moment. Reluctantly you pulled away from him gasping for air.
“God how hard did I hit my head.” You asked, rubbing the bandage that was wrapped around it.
“No darling you're not dreaming.” His texas drawl came through as he caressed the side of your face.
“I love you (y/n). I have ever since we met 5 years ago at…”
“… the Hard Deck when I beat you at the pool.”
“Yes, darling. Ever since then and I’ve loved you every day since. I’m so sorry it took me so long to tell you and after today, when I thought I’d lost you I…”
“I love you too.” He looked down at you stunned, looking for any kind of lie in your blue eyes but he saw none, they just looked at him, so full of love that he felt his heart squeeze in his chest.
“I… it’s…”
“Just shut up and kiss me Seresin.” And that was all it took for Jake to wrap his arms around your small frame, careful to avoid any bruises. His lips pressed firmly to yours, softer this time, pouring all the emotions of the day into it. His hand knotted in your hair as you pulled him down toward you on the bed. Both were too preoccupied to notice the other visitors at the door.
“Well damn.” Rooster said, “I guess I do owe Mav.”
“And me. Hand it over Bradshaw,” Phoenix clicked her fingers impatiently at her fellow aviator.
He handed her over the money groaning. “If Hangman could’ve kept it in his pants for another month I’d have been home and dry.”
“Well, I think after today’s events he’s decided to live each day like his last,” Bob said, sliding his hand into Phoenix’s as she gave him a soft smile.
“God! You guys too. Now I owe Coyote money.” The pair laughed at him, turning away from your room and making their way down the corridor.
“Hey wait up!” Rooster called, running after them. “Do you guys think you could give me a ride to an ATM?”

Tumblr media
When Y/N had first arrived at Penny's house she allowed herself to breathe deeply for the first time since the funeral.
She didn't think that she would ever understand why everyone thought it was a good idea to crowd the family of the deceased during the course of the funeral. But, sure enough, the entire time she'd had to entertain strangers and acquaintances as they told Y/N how amazing her mother was or how much they would miss her.
Penny was and always had been a safe person for Y/N to be around. She'd been best friends with her mom for Y/N's entire life, both of them being daughters of Admiral's and she became more like an Aunt to her.
The night she'd arrived, Amelia and Penny had given her tight hugs. They'd spent the evening laughing and talking, reminescing on the wild spirit that her mom was. Penny had closed the Hard Deck early and they'd made her mom's favorite, with Amelia's help.
She was going to be staying in the spare room that was on the very top floor and over-looked the beautiful beach that Penny's house sat on. She sighed and let her eyes fall shut, completely relaxed in a home that reminded her so much of her mom.
The next morning came early and Y/N woke up excited as she reached for her running shoes. It was her routine to run first thing every morning, it was a way for her to clear her head and exhausted her just enough that she always fell asleep the following evening instead of staying up to overthink.
She walked down the wooden stairs and greeted Penny with a smile as she filled a water bottle.
"Going for a run?" Penny asked her.
Y/N nodded, "That's the plan."
Penny pursed her lips, "It's pretty early so I'd recommend following the beach trail. It's generally pretty safe and it's right along the base so there's constantly people watching."
"Ok, sounds good," Y/n said as she pulled her hair back into a tight ponytail, "Will you be here when I get back?"
Penny rolled her eyes as she sipped from her coffee, "I wish. I've got to drop Amelia off and then I've got to go do inventory at the bar. Are you planning on come by this evening?"
Y/N rolled out her ankles as she clutched to the countertop, "I don't know. I'm not sure that I'm ready to "people" yet, you know."
Penny reached out to grab her hand, comfortingly. "Take all the time you need, I'm not judging. I just wanted to know if I should save you a seat."
Y/N squeezed her hand, "Thank you, Pen."
"Anytime," She said, softly. "Hey Y/N," Penny called as she had started to move towards the door, " The second you're ready, I'll put your first night of drinks on the house."
Y/N let out a loud laugh, "I'll hold you to it."
The sun had only just started to come up, casting the sky in brilliant soft pink and blue. The ocean was calm as it's waves gently washed up on the sandy shore.
She put her headphones in and started jogging down the coastline. She didn't have any plans for how far she wanted to go or even where she was going. Y/N just wanted some time where she didn't have to think about the real world.
She'd gone just over a mile when the road met an intersection and a blonde man with a Navy shirt turned to run along the same street that she was running on but on the opposite side of the road. They acknowledged each other with a brief head nod but Y/N quickly focused her attention from the attractive man back to the shore. She wouldn't want anyone checking her out while she was running, she figured.
They didn't run together very long as the road that led back to the base approached quickly and he returned to it. Y/N watched him for a minute as he ran through the gate, wondering what he did or what his position was.
She turned around to head back to Penny's and wrapped up her run at a total of 3 miles. The house was quiet as she walked in and she quickly took a shower as she got ready for the day.
Y/N ended up picking Amelia up from school and they hung out together for the rest of the evening.
As much as Y/N's day's varied over the next week and a half, the blonde man on her morning runs remained a constant. They got used to seeing each other and their greetings became friendlier, he began to wave at her as he turned back to the base, and the one day she missed her run to take Amelia to school he'd teased her for the next day.
He'd called out, "You're such a slacker!" As he ran past her, causing her to let out a loud laugh. She had picked up her pace and they raced each other back to the base.
He had stopped just before the gates, resting his hands on his knees.
"Who's the slacker now?" She teased as she turned around to head back to Penny's.
He had smirked and shook his head at her before he was out of her sight.
She was content in her routine - was, until he stopped showing up for three days. Y/N hadn't realized how much she'd looked forward to seeing him until he was gone.
"I know it seems stupid," she vented to Penny, "I've don't even know his name. But, I really liked our time together and I feel like he's just ditched me."
Penny had rested her head in her hands as she leaned against the kitchen table. She perked up, "You know, the Hard Deck is a popular Navy spot. I may or may not have heard a certain aviator talking about a beautiful girl that he ran with in the mornings. I could point him out to you?"
Y/N gaped, "You've known this whole time?"
Penny chuckled, "Yeah. He saw you with Amelia one day and asked how I knew you. He's a respectful, gentlemen - well, as respectful as an aviator really can be."
Y/N leaned back in her chair as she processed the information.
"I don't want him to think I'm like stalking him or something, he stopped showing up for a reason and what if it's because I like freaked him out or something?" Y/N asked.
Penny shook her head, "That's not what I've heard. From his perspective, he thinks you're insanely beautiful (which of course you are), he thinks you're funny, and he likes that you're content with yourself. He was telling one of the other pilots after he'd had a few drinks earlier this week.
"And, if what I've heard from the rumor mill, as well as from Mav, there's a big mission that they were training for that was supposed to happen soon. It could be why he's been MIA with you."
Y/N stared at her for a minute, "This isn't a ploy to get me out of the house?"
Penny rolled her eyes, "Y/N, you could be a permanant hermit for the rest of your life and I'd fully support you. But, if you want to see him, this is your best chance."
"How do you even know that they'll be back?" Y/N spluttered in a last ditch effort as the nerves at seeing her aviator again.
Amelia voice sounded from behind her, "Because Maverick called an hour ago asking if he could see her tonight after the Hard Deck closed."
Penny blushed but didn't deny it and Y/N couldn't stop herself from laughing at the bashful look on her face.
Y/N stood outside of the Hard Deck twisting her her hands nervously. Loud music and cheerful voices seemed to spill out from the seems of the old building. The air around her seemed to vibrate with the energy.
She'd meant to get there at the start of the night but had gotten distracted while chatting with Amelia. By now, the evening was well underway and while she knew that Penny would make room for her at the bar, the idea of going in to see him almost had her turning around to head back to the house.
"Hey," a voice said from behind her, "You're Pen's neice right?"
She turned around to see Maverick who was giving her a hesitant smile.
She returned his smile with one of her own, "The closest thing to one that she has. I'm Y/N, it's nice to meet you."
He shook her hand, "Maverick or Pete, whichever you'd rather. Why are you staring at the bar? You know, it hasn't exactly been known to bite anyone."
She laughed nervousely, "I know, I guess- Well, I just don't know anyone other than Penny inside."
He nodded in understanding, "Ah, well now you know me too. Would you like to get a drink while I wait on Penny?"
Y/N agreed and followed Penny's semi-boyfriend inside. If the building was electric on the outside, it was on-fire inside. It was packed to max capacity and she was grateful that she was walking in with Maverick because people seemed to move out of the way for him, so she didn't get stepped on.
Penny's face lit up when she saw them, "Y/N! You made it!"
"Yeah, Maverick walked me in, " she said, hoping to do him a favor in Penny's books since he did one for her.
"Did he now?" Penny asked, turning to give him a flirtacious look.
"He did indeed," Maverick responded, taking the beer she was holding out to him.
Penny smiled and turned back to her, "Your pilot's over in the corner playing pool."
Y/N blushed as Maverick turned to look at her.
"Rooster?" He asked.
Penny's nod was all it took for Maverick's face to turn into a shit-eating grin.
"He won't shut up about you," he told her. "He's taken a lot of heat from everyone else because he hasn't worked up the courage to ask you out. I didn't know that you were the girl he was talking about or I would've introduced you."
Y/N looked at Penny in confusion.
"He's the instructor and team lead for the last mission," she explained.
"Oh, that's cool. I still don't know who we're talking about though," Y/N said looking between the two.
Maverick was the one who spoke, "He's the son of my late wingman, Goose. He's kind of like a son to me."
She looked in the direction of where he'd tipped his glass to see the familiar blonde man that she'd developed a crush on. He was playing pool with 3 other people and was laughing at something that someone had said.
The girl that was playing with them spotted Maverick and pointed her drink in his direction. Y/N looked down before he caught her staring at him as the whole group of people turned to see who she had tipped her drink to.
Loud whistles and the sounds of teasing filled the air.
"I think he's spotted you," Penny said in a singsong voice.
Y/N just rolled her eyes and stared down into the glass she was holding.
"Hey, " Penny whispered, "Is this too much right now?"
Y/N shook her head, "No, not in that way. I'm just nervous."
Penny laughed, "Well in that case, I think it's time for me to grab some of the overstock from the back. Could I ask you for some assistance Pete?"
"Of course, who would I be if not the helper of a woman in need," Maverick teased.
Y/N watched them leave with a fond smile. She was happy that Penny was finally getting her own happy ending.
"Umm hi," Y/N turned around to see the girl from the pool table. "I'm Phoenix and I was tasked with coming over here to see if you would like to join us."
Y/N laughed at Phoenix's obviously forced and bored tone. She wasn't happy at being the person they sent over. Y/N peeked over at the group to see the men pretending to be very invested in what the pool table was made of.
"I'm Y/N. It's nice to mee you, aren't pilots supposed to be like overly confident?"
Phoenix laughed, "They normally are, I don't know what wrong with them tonight, but if you help me kick their ass in pool it'll make this weird exchange worth it."
"Deal," she said, following Phoenix over to the pool table.
"Guys," Phoenix said as a way of attention, "This is Y/N. Y/N this is Bob, Hangman, and Rooster."
Y/N let her eyes linger on Rooster for a minute but looked away when he went to meet her gaze.
"Nice to meet you," she offered.
"Right, Y/N's on my team. Rooster you get Phoenix and Bob you can play next round," Hangman stated as he handed her a stick.
Rooster glared at him but didn't say anything, instead walking around the table and starting the game.
Y/N stood next to Bob as Rooster and Hangman seemed to bicker quietly to each other as Phoenix rolled her eyes between them.
"Are they always like that?" She asked Bob.
He seemed surprised that she was acknowledging him but quickly responded, "Yeah, they don't always like each other but they always defend each other."
"Interesting," she commented.
She and Bob chatted as the game was put on pause. Phoenix quickly came over to join them and she learned all about their time in Top Gun.
"There's nothing like it, you know. Nothing even compares," Phoenix was explaining. She was invested and leaning over the table.
"Oh yeah, sitting in the back of a plane while you have zero control over what's going on is wonderful," Bob said, his sarcasm bleeding into his words.
Y/N laughed as Phoenix swatted at his arm. Hangman and Rooster finally finished their discussion and walked over to join them.
"Sorry kids, the real competition's leaving," Hangman told them.
"Oh no, what a shame," Bob whispered.
Rooster came to sit beside her and cast a quick glance at the piano before Y/N finally gathered her courage.
"If I hear you call me a slacker one more time after you missed three days without a word, I'm picking a new running route," she mock-threatened.
Rooster seemed surprised but laughed, "Yes ma'am. Sorry about that, I guess that would've been pretty sudden."
Y/N nodded, "I guess I can forgive you, but it's going to cost you."
Rooster raised his eyebrow, a growing smirk on his face, "Oh?"
"Mhm, I'm thinking like at least 20 pushups for 3 days," She said.
Phoenix leaned over, "You gotta do more than 20, make him work for it."
"Make it 100," Bob added.
Rooster groaned and rubbed a hand across his face, looking at her throught the cracks of his fingers.
"Would you really do 100 pushups?" She asked, incredulously.
He nodded slowly, "If that's what it takes to earn your forgiveness. It's not like I haven't done worse."
Y/N pretended to think about it for a minute, "I'll make a 100 pushups for three days but I'll take half of them."
He looked at her amused, "Why?"
She shrugged, "I've been meaning to work on my arm muscles."
His eyes left her face to trail down her body, "I don't think you really need to work on anything."
Y/N blushed, "I try."
They sat looking out at all of the patrons in the bar for a few minutes. Rooster's voice cut through the noise, "Hey Y/N, how many pushups would I need to do to get you to agree to a date with me?"
Y/N smirked, taking a long drink as she stared into his eyes enjoying the sensation of his complete attention.
She shrugged, trying to play coy. "I guess you'll have to wait and find out."

Rossi x Daughter!reader - reckless and brave
Tumblr media
Heyo!!! So, this is random, but I saw this on my tiktok, and thought of young reader (Rossis daughter) doing this and the team watching and absolutely having heart attacks about it! I would love to read your take on it, if that's ok? 💓💓 xx She's a massive dare devil, obviously encouraged by Garcia and Emily, JJ and Hotch silently panicking, Reid staying facts no one asks for (he's rambling) and Rossi is just used to it by now - @casserole-from-dads-asserole 💜
A/N: since I wasn’t able to see the video that was sent with it my lovely friend has said I can make smth up 😌💜
Your dad was away in a case, and while the case was finished due to the bad weather in the state they were in, he wasn’t able to come back home for a few days and was locked up in his hotel.
You were sat in top of a skateboard ramp when your phone started ringing and you set your drink down to look at who was calling and with a grin you answered the FaceTime.
“Dad! Hi!”
“Hey sweetheart, how you doing? Where are you?”
You flipped the camera to show him the skatepark and turned it back around.
“I’m out with Andy, Mary and Ethan. I’m good! I ate all your popcorn though so you might wanna get more, how’re you? Where’s the rest of the team?!”
Rossi chuckled, getting up he left his hotel room and started to walk down the hallways.
“I’m good, we may be stuck here a few more days I’m sorry.”
“Nah it’s cool, nothing you can do about it. Plus I’m old enough to look after myself!”
“That your way of saying you don’t need me?” He teased.
“No! You’re my dad you moron, I love you but I’m also loving having the house to myself.” You grinned.
He laughed and knocked on another door, and he was let in.
Once he was in the room he told everyone to say hi to you, and you noticed Garica was also on FaceTime with Derek and your eyes lit up with excitement.
“Penny are you still here?!”
“Yes my lovely!”
Grinned you asked her if she wanted to come to the skatepark to get out of the office since there was nothing for her to do and she quickly agreed.
The others laughed and you stayed talking to them for a little bit and Emily popped into the screen.
“What’re you doing?” She asked.
“Oh I was skating, we have to wait though.”
“Why?”
You slid down the ramp and got up, walking to the far edge of the park, you showed them what was currently going on.
“We’ll someone found these old planks and stuff, and no we’re making a new ramp.”
“(Y/N) that’s not safe.” Rossi scolded.
Ethan walked over, popping his face next to yours.
“Don’t worry, I’m testing it first.” He grinned.
“Absolutely not I am!” You huffed.
You guys bickered for a moment and Mary came over with your skateboard, handing it over to you.
“They’ll be done soon.” She grinned.
Grinning back, you sat down with your friends and carried on talking to your family.
“Do you really have to do this?” Derek asked.
“It’s a matter of pride Derek morgan. If I don’t then what am I really?”
“Smart?” Emily pipped up.
“Boring! I’m boring! I’ve gotta do it! Wanna see some not dangerous things?”
“Show us what you got kiddo.” Hotch smiled.
You wondered where he was, but guess by the fact he was holding his phone you assumed he was on the phone to his son.
You handed your phone to Mary so she could show them you on the normal, not dangerous ramps and everyone smiled as they watched.
As you were coming down one, you saw your favourite tech woman walking up and you grinned, swerving away from the ramp, past your friends and on to the grass you broke out into a run and jumped at her.
“Hi! I’ve missed you!” She giggled.
“I’ve missed you too Pen! You should come here more often come in!”
Grabbing her hand you dragged her over and picked up your board along the way and made your way to your friends again.
They were used to seeing FBI agents at this point, having spent a lot of time around your house or out and about they knew them all.
“Hey! Hey it’s done!” Someone yelled.
“Done what?”
“New ramp.” Ethan grinned madly.
You guys all walked over, and you looked at the way the wood was badly screwed together.
It was simple looking, at the base of the tallest ramp, curving a little with the idea to send you flying around the curved ramp and another leading directly into the bowl ramp in the ground where you should be able to get enough speed to go flying out.
“That really doesn’t look safe at all.” Reid said.
“Come on, it’s fine!” You laughed.
You grabbed your board and ran up to the top of the tallest ramp, and with the help of some older teens, they pulled you up and steadied you.
“Sure you wanna be the first one on this thing?”
“Hell yeah.” You grinned.
They smirked and you heard Garica shout your name, now she was holding your phone.
“You go!” She beamed.
You could hear JJ, Derek, Emily all cheering your name over the phone.
The whole team was crowded around anxiously watching, cheering for you.
“You know only 5% of skateboarding injuries bare severe, and most of those are from being hit by moving vehicles.” Reid said.
“Still doesn’t make this any safer.” Hotch said.
He was panicking, he should be used to your reckless and care free nature by now, but having a son of his own he felt the need to protect you and keep you safe.
He looked at Rossi who didn’t seem to phased, but he could tell his friend was worried about your safety.
“Either way, we both know that she’s going to do this, she’s just wait till we’re off FaceTime.” Rossi sighed.
They watched you line yourself up with the new ramp, and in a tense moment you were gone, flying down.
You went over the dodgy ramp which creaked under the speed and sudden weight and flew around the next ramp making your way over to the final makeshift one.
You got on it and it broke, sending you tumbling down and everyone quickly jumped into action.
“Garcia what’s going on?!” Rossi asked.
“Hold on, hold on, hold on!”
She looked down into the bowl shaped ramp to see you sitting up, some older kids helping pull you to your feet and climb out and you sat in front of Garica.
“Are you okay?!” She rushed out.
Looking at her, you nodded.
“Yeah! That was hella cool! Scraped my arms a little bit that fine.”
You showed them the damage which wasn’t that bad at all and stood up.
“Let’s go again!”
Everyone laughed and cheered including your dads team but when you heard Rossi say your name you took the phone and turned it to face you.
“I know you’re going to do it again, but please not while we’re on FaceTime, so I can at least pretend you’re not doing it.”
You laughed and nodded your head, sitting to talk to him for a bit instead before hanging up and immediately going back to what you were doing.
Since it was summer you spent every day at the park, and a few days later you all found a new way to entertain yourselves.
You didn’t know your dad was already back, and that he and his team were coming to the skatepark to surprise you with Will, Henry and Jack as well.
You were standing on the roof of a building talking to the same older boys from the other day.
“Do you think we can make that jump?” Mary asked.
“No idea.” Jason shrugged.
“Well, why not asked the cops? They’re here because of that crazy old woman anyways, may as well see if they can measure it.” A boy shrugged.
You all nodded and walked over to the edge, laying down on your stomach, you grabbed a stick and poked the police officer stood below you.
“Can I help you?” She laughed.
“So, what you doing?”
“Well because of that ladies reports, we need to stay here to keep an eye on you lot. You’re not doing anything illegal, but for safety reasons just for a little while until she goes.”
You nodded your head and gestured to the bowl ramp.
“So, can you measure the gap between this building and that hole in the ground?”
“Sure, but I shouldn’t be condoning this behaviour you know.”
“Come on you’re cool! You two are here every other week!” Mary pouted.
“Yeah! Plus if we know we can’t jump it we won’t.”
The two others nodded and took careful steps, counting how many until they reached the edge.
“Okay, so if there was people laying down how many people would fill that space.”
“About five.” The male officer nodded.
“Oh we can do that, we’ve jumped over more people that that. Thanks!”
You got up and you guys spoke a bit more and the older boys decided to go first, to test how safe it really was so you all stood at the edge watching.
They did and you got lined up to do you jump when you heard people chanting your name you walked back over to have a look.
“Dad!”
“You got this sweetheart!” He called back.
You were buzzing with excitement, hearing your family cheer your name and cheer you on you got ready and went for it.
Skating as fast as you could from one side to the other, you jumped over the little ledge and soared through the air, heading straight for the smooth concrete of the ramp you landed a little wobbly but you landed and appeared on the other side.
There was a whole lot of cheering, and you ran over to your dad, dropping your skateboard you hugged him tightly as people started to cheer for Mary.
Rossi held you tightly, kissing the top of your head he pulled away and looked at your injuries from the other day.
“You’re so reckless.” He sighed.
“I know, it’s great!” You beamed.
He laughed and pushed you over to the team and you hugged them all, happy to have you family around you.
They decided to spend the day here and you would carry on with your reckless behaviour without a fear in the world with them cheering you on and sometimes Hotch or Rossi trying to talk you out of it but you still did it.
You were a little daredevil.
They’re little daredevil and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Rossi definitely wouldn’t, you were his little rebel, his little girl and as long as you were safe and happy he’d cheer you on at every stupid and reckless stunt you wanted to do

Ok so I saw this (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMF5bYbN5/) on TikTok and I can just imagine this is how reader tells spencer she’s expecting 😍 the whole team would already know, and they are playing scrabble on the jet, and everyone’s watching his reaction but he’s just not getting it, until she pulls out the test and then the penny drops and ahhhhhh I NEED this 🙈 please can you write something along these lines? You’re the best Reid writer ever!! Xxx
link, i love this, and thank you, and thinking about his reaction is just mwah
You know Spencer's in need of a pick-me-up when you get on the jet. It's been a long case, and he's been unknowingly doing his job as a soon-to-be-dad by holding up your hair while you were sick in the mornings.
So you break out the scrabble board, earning smiles from everyone as they know what you're about to do. He goes to get you tea first, and you use the opportunity to take the letters you need, putting some on his slider so he doesn't get suspicious.
"I bet you cheated." He accuses you, scowling at you playfully.
"Promise I didn't." You claim, holding your hands up in defense.
"I hope you're putting down a word like cat then." He scoffs, nudging your feet under the table.
That is definitely not the phrase you plan on putting down. Secretively, you put all your letters on the board and bank on Spencer's focus being on his own letters, no doubt trying to think up the most complicated word while you arrange the letters.
There's no doubt the only times you win are when he lets you.
You eagerly wait for him to read your word, heart thumping with anticipation for his reaction. He's been talking about having a baby for years and you know he's going to be elated.
It's an edge-of-your-seat event for the rest of the jet, as well, all excited for what his reaction's going to be. JJ's got her phone out, subtly filming it for you to keep the treasured memory, and so Penelope can see it when you get home.
"Y/n." He shakes his head, looking at you like your an idiot. But you're doing the same thing. For someone so intelligent, he is not getting it. "One, you can't have ten letters, and two, you can only have one word. Pregnant wouldn't even be okay. With those letters, you can have pigment for 16 before any double scores, but you can't cheat. You have to redraw."
Behind him, you can see Morgan, JJ, Rossi, and Emily laughing. There's even a smirk on Hotch's lips.
You bite down a smile. "Spence, read it out loud." You try.
"I'm pregnant." He repeats what's written on the board. Morgan and Emily can't contain their giggles, highly amused by your husband's obliviousness. "You still can't have it. I'll let you get away with knowing my letters, but that's worth at least 20 points."
"You're a genius, right?" You question.
He frowns again. "Provably."
"Okay, so what does that mean?" You prompt, trying to help him make the connection.
He's struggling, still completely baffled about why you would need a basic middle school biology lesson. "Being pregnant? When there's an embryo that turns into a fetus growing in someone's uterus."
Even you can't bite down your laughter that time. You realize you're going to have to ditch the original plan of him deciphering the board, and take the test out of your bag.
His eyes widen as he reads the same word as was on the board. Then he looks back up at you, slightly teary-eyed as the connection sticks. "You're pregnant." He says with deep realization.
You nod, still waiting for a reaction that wasn't him stating a fact. He quickly gets out of his seat, buzzing with excitement as he drags you up and wraps his arms so tightly around you that he can pick you up and spin you around.
"I'm an idiot." He shakes his head when he puts you down, holding you tightly in a hug.
"I know." You agree with a laugh, pulling away to kiss him in a rare public display of affection.
When you're done, there's a round of hugs and congratulations from the team, all equally thrilled for you two to be embarking on the next step in your lives together.

Omg, that fic with Baxter, mc, Penny and James was adorable! I'm curious one,how would Cove and Cliff react to James being named after them and two, how would uncle Cove be with James? Like, would he help teach them surfing or other water sports? Thanks, your fics and hcs are amazing!!
Thank you!!! I could write Daddy Baxter all day long I swear lol, i love him so much!
You'd given birth to James in the evening, so by the time you'd both been checked out and tucked away into a new hospital room, it was late. Baxter let your friends and family know to hold off visits until the next day.
Your moms came first with Penny in tow. all excited to meet the newest member of the family. Derek, early bird that he was, was next. He'd brought a stuffed animal for the baby and flowers for you.
Then came Cove and Cliff, your best friend and your father figure. And finally all three men whose names you'd given to your son were together.
Cliff was quick to snatch James up, snuggling him in his arms and cooing at him. Cove made his way to your bed and gave you a smile.
"How's it going?" he asked.
"Ask a different question," you told him, eager to get to the good part.
He looked at you, confused. You were ready to let him keep going, but then Baxter suggested he look at the little name card attached to the bassinet the hospital had provided.
Cove bent over to look at it, but apparently skipped over the pertinent information because he looked back at you, his eyebrows still raised.
"What's the little guy's name?" Cliff asked with a laugh, having figured out Baxter's clue.
Cove looked at the card again, then back at you, eyes wide.
"You named him James?"
He launched himself at you -- well, in a gentle way, considering you'd just given birth not too long ago. He hugged you as hard as he could without hurting you.
"You didn't have to do that," he said quietly in your ear.
"I know. I wanted to."
Cliff was all smiles, still holding the baby, and asked "What about the middle name? Two like big sis?"
"Yes," Baxter answered. "Alexander, my own middle name."
He stopped, then looked at you. You nodded encouraging him to continue -- after all, the middle names were his idea.
"And Clifford."
Cliff had been slowly moving around the room with James, gently swaying him, but when he heard that, he stopped. He looked at Baxter, then to you.
Cove laughed as his father started crying, then moved to take the baby from him. Cliff wiped at his eyes, then went over to hug you.
"When Cove was little, I always thought that no matter what else i did with my life, at least I had one great kid," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "And then I got lucky enough to have another. Thank you, kiddo."
He then straightened himself and turned to Baxter. Your husband held his hand out for a shake, but instead Cliff pulled him into a tight hug.
Over the taller man's shoulder, Baxter winked at you, but you were close enough to see the tears sparkling in his eyes.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Did you remember the lifejackets?"
"Yes."
"The water bottles?"
"Yes."
"The sunscreen?"
"Baxter, yes, I have everything," you said, reaching over to stroke the back of his head as he focused on driving. You then quietly told him, "It's going to be ok."
A little bit of the tension he held left him when you started touching him, but it wasn't all gone. Still, he glanced in the rearview mirror at Penny and James in the backseat, and he managed a smile.
"Who's ready for a beach day?" you asked excitedly.
Everyone but Baxter cheered.
Baxter was still scared of the ocean. He'd gotten better about it, once he'd even gone in up to his waist, but he still wasn't a big fan. Now that you had children, an extra layer of fear was added on. He loved his kids a million times more than he loved himself, even on his best day. So while he was frightened about what the water might do to him, it was nothing compared to what he feared for them.
These issues were an ongoing conversation, especially now that James had gotten older and expressed an interest in learning how to surf. But lucky for everyone, he had an uncle that was more than able to help him out.
That's where the family was headed that day -- you were going to your old neighborhood beach in Sunset Bird so Cove could take James surfing.
"Can you do us a favor and try not to get eaten by a shark?" Penny asked her little brother, not bothering to look up from her book. "It would really put a damper on Family Beach Day."
"Penny," you warned. She cackled, but didn't say anything else.
Beside you, Baxter finally had a real smile, but he bit it back. James may have had interests with which he couldn't necessarily relate, but Penny was his child, through and through.
When you got to the beach, Cove was there waiting. He'd already stripped down to his swim trunks, and he'd brought two surf boards.
You greeted him with a hug, and Baxter shook his hand. Penny gave him a fist bump, and James just smiled at him in anticipation.
"Ready?" Cove asked.
"Yes!" your son told him.
And they were off. Well, after Baxter made sure James had on a solid layer of sunscreen and, of course, his lifejacket.
Family beach days usually all went the same -- you were more comfortable in the water, and James loved being in it, so you kept up with him. Penny was 16 now, eight years older than James, and she went back and forth between lounging in the sun and splashing around in the waves. Baxter waded in sometimes, but for the most part he kept watch on the beach.
This time though, Cove had James. Penny was still reading, laid out on her towel, so you took the opportunity to take a seat next to your husband.
He smiled as you sat next to him and threaded his fingers through yours. You slipped into a comfortable silence as you watched Cove with your son -- they looked like they were having fun together, as they always did, and despite the bulky lifejacket, James seemed to be learning the basics.
"It doesn't bother you, does it?" you asked. "That he's doing this with Cove and not you?"
Baxter laughed, apparently finding the idea that there was even the remote possibility that he could teach James how to surf amusing. But when he looked at you, he saw you were serious.
"No, darling, of course not," he said, giving your hand a squeeze. "I'm glad he has Cove. I'm glad he has everyone in his life that can help teach him whatever he needs to know. I'd never be bothered by our children being surrounded by so much love. I think it's beautiful."
You didn't say anything to that -- you didn't have to. You loved him so much, you always had, but you were so incredibly proud of the man and father he'd grown to be.
While you were in the middle of your moment, you didn't realize that Penny had snuck up behind you. She stuck her head between yours and Baxter's and started dramatically humming the "Jaws" theme song, looking out at Cove and James.
"Penny, please."

Oh ooo ok
So imagine Yuu/the reader has/had a twin back in their world that they havent talked about but miss dearly and they find comfort in being around the tweels
Eventually they confide this in Floyd and Jade and the two basically go "well I guess we have to adopt you now."
God I am a sucker for found family. Yk how it is.
So sorry for the late reply❗I was going through a huge burnout but not to fret I'm back! (Atleast I hope so) thank you for the request dear annon!!
Platonic
A fish of family
Tumblr media
Having been in a whole other universe wasn't all just adventure and wonder, it also tugged you away from your family and friends such as being your twin, growing up with a twin always was exciting and never lonely, always having a friend close by but that all faded when you got transported to another universe, worse part was it being a school and you having to worry about schoolwork rather than how to get back to your world and to your family.
"____ come on were gonna be late and it's gonna be off with our heads so hurry up" ace called out standing next to deuce impatiently awaiting
"give me a minute to put the shoes on" you replied annoyed as you stood up ready to go.
Sure being in NRC wasn't boring, and luckily it helped to take your mind off of your twin so you would've have to grieve all the time. during your stay in NRC you came across the Tweels, 2 inhumanly tall clinically insane twins. Of course they gave you the goosebumps too but when they reminded you of you and your twin you couldn't help but let the worries fall away and form a small smile at the memories that flooded within you, you never told them, of course, there wasn't exactly a reason to but you did grow closer to them as they were too intrigued by your "not triggered by them" demeanour.
Floyd was drying glass clean with a cloth standing behind the counter with Jade, as he looked up he spotted you a smile formed on his face
"ahh look Jade it's shrimpyy" "oh? Indeed they are, good eye floyd", the taller eel put the glass down not paying attention to jade's comment started skipping towards your table.
You had decided to go to the mostro lounge to try and keep your mind off of your twin thinking being in that beautiful place would keep your worries away. As you sat down and absorbed the menu you saw a dish that looked like the one you and your twin used to enjoy, you grimaced and your eyebrows knitted at that "ughh great I thought I'd get away from the thoughts but it's just coming to me"
Flipping to the next page trying not to think about it, tho that failed as all you could do was think about the fun times you spent with your twin, tears started to form in your eyes as you got mad that you couldn't keep them in, soon you heard heavy footsteps approaching you to which you panicked trying to wipe the tears from your face as fast as possible
"Little shrimpp~ your backk how are you doing?" He asked as you tilted your head up to him forcing a smile, he's own smile faded at that as his eyes widened"Shrimpy are you crying?" "Huh? No I'm not I just have allergies you know how it is, I've been sneezing the whole day" you replied as to which he frowned "yeah you can trick your dumb friends with that but I can tell lies, i work with azul shrimp" you groaned and put your head on your arms, soon the other twin approached "What's going on here? Did you make the prefect cry Floyd?" Jade raised a brow to Floyd "Ehh? no! I just walked up to them and noticed they were cryin about something" he replied "a penny for your thoughts prefect?" "It's nothing just family stuff" "you have a kid?-" "NO OF COURSE NOT" you yelled at Floyd at that assumption, "*sigh* sorry for the outburst I'm just overwhelmed is all, really you should go back to your duties so that Azul won't rip his hair out again" you said chuckling a bit at the end, "Oh please we have plenty of time to spare, things do get quite boring and who's Azul if he doesn't lose it once in a while?" Jade said looking at his brother who smiled and nodded at you, you chuckled and jade and Floyd sat Infront of you "Now, do tell us what's troubling you prefect"
You told them about your twin and how it's been tough to keep remembering about the memories, to your surprise jade and Floyd listened and actually looked like they felt bad? Jade took your hand "I had no idea you had a twin, and I'm terribly sorry about your situation I can't imagine what it's like to be far from your twin"
"Yeah! I mean I get bored and ticked off when me and jade don't have classes with eachother more than twice so being far from your twin for more than thatm.m sheesh" he shivered and hugged your side
"thanks for understanding, really, I needed to get this out" you smiled, jade and Floyd shared a look then smiled "I see well then, me and Floyd have to go now, we'll see you soon, till tomorrow prefect" jade said as he got up waiting for Floyd, "see ya shrimpp" Floyd said as he waved he's hand.
You sat there deciding to order something and leave soon so you could sleep early.
The next day you were going to chemistry class but soon stopped when 2 tall eels stood in your way "oh hi guys" you looked up "hellp prefect/ahoy shrimp" "we got you something" jade said as he holded his hand out to Floyd, Floyd put a box in his palm and jade turned to you giving the box to you. "What's this?" You asked "open it and you'll see" jade answered smiling
You raised a brow and opened the box, in the box you saw one earring, similar to the one Floyd and jade wore. "Oh wow this is very generous of you but, why?" "You're part of the family now shrimp" Floyd said grinning "indeed, the earrings we wear symbolises family, and from now on you're part of it jade replied smiling at you with closed eyes. You started sniffing and you brought an arm up to hold the tears in
"shrimp? Why're you crying?" "Prefect, is everything alright" they asked worried
"actually it's better than okay, thank you both so much, this means a lot for me, thank you" you said smiling at them Floyd laughed out of happiness and squeezed you as jade hugged you as well "Hehe we have a triplet now Jade" "seems that we do Floyd"
Tumblr media
The end
This was so adorable I can't🤧 literally thank you for this request it was amazing, have a good week dear annon 🫶

A Blessing from Arcues (Koraidon with the Hero/Heroine of Hisui Trainer Reader)
Summary: Being in Hisui for two years then being whooshed back to the present isn’t easy. You think about how you changed after returning, and how Koraidon has helped you with them being from the past and coming to the present.
“C’mon, you have to let me battle that other Koraidon!” Nemona said with hands clasped in a pleading manner. “I bet Koraidon would love to battle!”
You hummed hesitantly. Koraidon still didn’t listen to all your commands yet and would often tear into battle. His violent way of battling made you worry for the safety of the domesticated Pokémon. You didn’t want them to get seriously injured or killed. A few of your Hisuian team members got killed in battle and you didn’t want that pain on anyone else.
“I would rather you not fight my Koraidon. He’s vicious in battle and doesn’t listen to me fully yet. I don’t want to risk you or your Pokémon’s safety. Why don’t you battle your neighbor’s Koraidon instead.”
“Yeah, I could, but yours is a tougher opponent.” Nemona said, before sighing a few seconds later. “When your Koraidon listens to you more can I battle it then?”
You were thinking of saying no, but if you knew there wasn’t a risk of people or Pokémon getting hurt to a large degree, there was no reason Nemona couldn’t battle Koraidon. If you battled Nemona it could also show Koraidon you had a level of trust in them, and that was needed in a good trainer and Pokémon combo.
“You can battle them then, yes.”
“Alright!” Nemona said, while punching the air.
You gave a small smile at Nemona’s excitement. It was refreshing to see someone so excited, as well as someone that loved Pokémon. It made you so happy to see people and Pokémon living together after two years of being in a time where people and Pokémon were afraid of each other, and hardly worked together.
“Hey! Do you want to hang out with me, Arvin, Penny, and (player character name)?” Nemona asked. “You’ll be good in our group, especially with how you caught your Koraidon.”
“That sounds nice Nemona, but I planned on training Koraidon, and there’s no time like the present.”
“Oh, ok. Well maybe we can all hang out some other time.”
“Maybe,” you said.
You didn’t want to hang out with Nemona and her friends. You didn’t have anything against them, they seemed nice, but you weren’t ready to hang out with people outside of class yet. You hated to admit it, but you developed trust issues. You bent over backwards to gain the trust of Jubalife Village, just for Kamado to throw you out without listening to what you had to say, the citizens of the village turned their back on you after all you did for them, and then Volo, one of your closest friends, betrayed you. At times you wondered if he was ever your friend or if it was just an act for him to get close and use you. If Volo, Kamado, and the majority of Jubalife turned on you so easily, why wouldn’t others? Your own mother didn’t help this stance either, she just sent you off to Naranja Academy when you became too much. You didn’t care what she said, you didn’t believe her when she said, ‘this will be good for you’ or ‘that it would help you’.
Pokémon were the ones that truly stood by you. Modern or past they were with you through good times and bad. It was your Hisuian partner that broke free from their ball to block Garatina’s attack after Volo ordered the legendary to strike you down. Throughout all the struggles and good times in Hisui your Pokémon were always with you. In the tough times you faced with being back in the modern time, your Pokémon never abandoned you, they didn’t care that you sometimes spoke in the old Sinnoh language, had a variety of scars, flinched at tamed Pokémon, and didn’t care if electronics were tricky for you.
After saying farewell to Nemona, you went to find a place where you could let Koraidon out.
You were careful where you let Koraidon out. You knew they were from the distant past and you wanted to introduce them to modern times slowly and help them to adjust. Nemona told you your Koraidon has probably been in this time for a while but hasn’t been out of Area Zero for long. To play it safe you decided to act as if the rampage on the school was the first time they were out.
You didn’t know how Koraidon escaped from Area Zero, but you were kind of glad they did. You felt out of place ever since your return, and started to feel like you didn’t belong in this school or time. No one but Warden Ingo could understand your position, but then Koraidon appeared. They looked like a Pokémon you’d see in Hisui and their rampage reminded you of the times the Nobles were frenzied and you had to quell them. Calming Koraidon was difficult without balms, but you threw pieces of the sandwich you got for lunch at them, until you thought you could throw Pokéballs at them. It took you awhile and your whole team to be able to get Koraidon to a spot where they could finally be caught, but they were now officially your Pokémon. You thought that they might be like the Hisuian Pokémon in terms of training with how they looked and fought, hard to train and gain their trust. The thought was right as you would find out, and in a few ways, Koraidon was harder to train than the Husuian Pokémon, but you knew you could train them.
Director Clavell was hesitant to allow you to keep Koraidon with how they attacked the school, and knowing just how violent this one could be. It took some work, but you convinced him to let you keep Koraidon by telling him you could tame them and promised you wouldn’t let them attack the school.
When you learned how this Koraidon was brought from the ancient past by a time machine and normally stayed in Area Zero, it made you think that Arcues saw your struggle and sent you Koraidon. They were from the past with little knowledge of the present time, outcasts, and not trusted by others. You were from modern times, got sent to the past, then got whisked back, you had to relearn the modern time, felt like an outcast, had a hard time trusting people and sometimes thought if it would’ve been better to have not returned at all. With these similarities it made you feel connected to Koraidon, and that maybe they understood your situation.
Koraidon made a growl when you let them out on top a hill in a grassy area.
“Hey Koraidon,” you said, slowly stretching out your hand to pat them on the head.
Koraidon huffed but let you pat their head.
You were silent for a few minutes just petting Koraidon.
“Do you ever want to go back to the past?” You asked Koraidon.
Koraidon hummed in a tone that you couldn’t pick up on.
You waited for a moment or two in order to know that Koraidon was finished with his reply before you spoke. “Sometimes, I think it would’ve been best if I stayed in Hisui. I didn’t fit in there but in the end, I fit in there better than I do here. In Hisui I had Professor Laventon and Rei, in Hisui I was someone, I did stuff there, but I don’t have any people here for me, I’m no one now, and I can’t seem to do anything productive. I know me not having any people friends is because I’m afraid to try, but how about the other two things? Is that me too or is it something else?”
Koraidon hummed in a tone that sounded like he was unsure.
“You don’t know either. At least we have each other so we’re not going through this alone. Our experiences in the past are different as well as our experiences in the present, but we know a little of what the other is going through.” After saying that you went through your backpack to get out the sandwich ingredients.
Koraidon perked up at the ingredients then let out a happy roar to the sky. The roar spooked you and made you take a few steps back, fearing Koraidon was angered or about to attack.
Koraidon tilted their head with a small hum at your distance and odd stance. Sensing your nervousness Koraidon realized their excited roar was the cause. Wanting to make you more comfortable Koraidon got on all fours and turned out of their true form. They slowly walked towards you then sniffed you. They tried to make the quiet roar they heard the weaker Koraidon do when they addressed their trainer. Seeing your stance go back to normal and you give a small smile Koraidon knew they succeeded.
Koraidon gestured their head to the sandwich ingredients making you chuckle. The ancient Pokémon gave their best attempt at a smile.
They watched you make the sandwich then handed one to them. “Slow, don’t snap it from me.” You said.
Koraidon roared happily and was about to snap it from you but paused. The last time he snapped it from you, you almost lost a finger and scolded them. You gave them food, and weren’t an enemy of theirs, so hurting you didn’t make much since, in fact it might have you not give them sandwiches or berries anymore.
Koraidon took the sandwich and quickly ate it.
“Good Koraidon,” you said then handed another sandwich to them.
They happily roared before eating it.
You made yourself a sandwich then sat against a tree to eat it. As you were eating it Koraidon came next to you and sniffed your sandwich.
“This is mine.”
“Giah,” Koraidon put his neck back. They thought about growling and demanding you give them the sandwich but growling never worked with you. They did see the weaker Koraidon get droopy and sad when their trainer didn’t give them the sandwich and they were rewarded with the sandwich afterwards. Koraidon didn’t like to copy the weaker one but seeing as the delicious sandwich was involved, maybe they could copy them one more time. Koraidon slumped down a little and tried to look sad. “Giaaawn.”
“No, mine.”
“Giaaawn.” The ancient Pokémon went down further.
You shook your head adamant that you would not give in no matter how sad he looked. This was your food.
“Giaaaawn.” Koraidon looked into your eyes.
The two had a staring contest, but finally you sighed. “Ok, ok, you can have half of my sandwich.”
Koraidon perked up instantly then ate the half you held out. They didn’t care to listen to you very much, but you did give delicious food, and cleaned them when they got dirty. You were actually good company, much better than the Professor Sadas. They got lost with some of the things you say about Hisui but with how you talked about it, it sounded like a place they would like. If Koraidon was there with you they would like it, think about all the Pokémon he could beat up, and all the people he could scare by just walking up to them. They could steal that potato mochi you talked about, and maybe, just maybe, they would let you ride on them and take you all across Hisui. You wouldn’t have to rely on the Nobles then, Koraidon could do everything for you, and in return you would give them food, pet them, and let them beat up the Nobles you faced. They would be calm after Koraidon was finished with them.
Perhaps if they were with you, you wouldn’t feel so sad now. You tried to hide your sadness at the school or around people, but Koraidon saw it when you were alone. When no people were around that seemed to be the worst time for you, but the worst days were when you told them about your time in Hisui. Those days seemed to be the days you were the weakest on, and Koraidon hated those days, they hated weakness, especially with you, you were the strongest person Koraidon knew. No other Human stood up against them like you did, nor did any Human dodge their attacks. Koraidon respected you for how you stood against them. Their respect for you and how you fed and cleaned them made them start to like you, even when you became weak, or told them what to do when you did something called ‘training’ with them.
Koraidon wanted to help you, but liked being known as the toughest Koraidon; if they tried to help you would that make them like the weaker Koraidon? They could just help you when no one was around so their tough image could still be intact.
That sounded good.
Koraidon went around in a circle then laid down next to you. They noticed you got a little better when one of your Pokémon were next to you, so lying beside you was a good start.
When you saw Koraidon lying next to you, you smiled then gently petted his head.
You knew you needed to feed the rest of your team but for a few minutes you just wanted it to be you and Koraidon.

I'm tired of watching creators get stepped on (with a clarified statement regarding the forum poster)
I don't frequent this forum - I went here to investigate pirating. Several people have insisted that the person going by the COG founder's name is not actually him, so here's my updated post. I retract that it's Dan but not what else I said. I still stand by what I said.
Hi, it's me, your friendly Vi with something on my mind. Unfollow if you will but I gotta speak my mind on behalf of the authors who spend countless hours creating the games that bring you joy. Sure, I've been away from Tumblr so I'm probably late to this but oh well. Still decided to post this.
I moved my game to Twine in August because I don't want to be associated with Choice of Games (COG). Here's a great example of why...
People in a forum asking for and sharing pirated content from indie creators' Patreons.
The author saw it and responded:
Tumblr media
[ID: A snippet of what the text reads. Please take this down. This is just...really not cool guys. My hands are trembling as I right this, because I'm both hurt and stunned that someone would take *everything* from my Patreon and post it. If you ever want - redacted game name - to get finished, then try not to do things that will cause me to have a breakdown. Please. /ID]
Here's the response from someone going by COG's founder's name (per screenshots below - apparently it's not him but I do wonder why he lets someone use his name or isn't aware?):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know this image is small, so here's what it reads:
"Let me tell you something, those who haven't subscribed to your patreon isn't magically gonna subscribe if they don't get stories elsewhere, and those who have already did that means they care about you and I'm pretty damn sure they aren't gonna unsubscribe anytime soon. If something anything changes due to the leaks then it's your popularity, readers are gonna be more interested in your titles and perhaps once they have enough money then they can even subscribe and donate that money to you, right now many members of this forum don't have enough resources to purchase things online such as patreon subscription, hence they had to rely on leaks to sate their excitement of reading the stories. Do think about it, from their perspective and if you can then try to make old stories and demo available for public this way they may not needs to rely on leaks and will read from official source.
Sincerely, Dan Fabulich"
What I said originally when I thought it was Dan: The guy is probably a millionaire (or, at the very least, well off compared to most indie creators) and he has the nerve to create an entitled response like this to an INDIE AUTHOR who uses choicescript.... wow. To an author who yes, has a pretty good following but is spending 1000s of hours creating for the enjoyment of others.
New statement: It's still fucking the way this person is speaking to an indie author. Still seems odd to allow a forum to use your name (and also basically insinuate it is supported by your company)...I would certainly be angry. But then again, I'm not rich and living off indie authors' work.
He (still) has more money than most of us indie authors ever have in his pocket from creating a company that pays pennies to the writers who make it money. People who just rely on passion to create these stories. Even if you make money on Patreon, most people cannot be sustained full-time. Most of the pirated content is not from bigger authors (but some is).
And before anyone says anything, yes, I am aware that many people can't afford Patreon and "don't want to wait." I get it. I promise you, I know the struggle. But like, it's fucking entitled to think you deserve to read someone's work without their permission.
And it's fucking entitled to throw the authors that pay for your lifestyle under the bus. (I still believe the company does this).
I am SO grateful to the majority of you out there who are kind, supportive, and overall amazing. But this is not okay!
Vi, out.
P.S. as an anon suggested, I will try to contact Dan to see if he's aware of this person using his name to make statements like this

Headcanons for (if your ok with it.) Jack,Noah,Hlokk, and Heracles if the reader showed them the movie Sweeney Todd: demon barber of Fleet Street the one with Johnny Depp. I just bought the soundtrack and figured this ask would be perfect for the month of Halloween.
Pretty sure the original story of Sweeney Todd was published in the dreadful penny or something before Jack was born.
I like it a loooot! The tv serie "Penny Dreadful" mentions the stage play of Sweeney Tood (and even Jack The Ripper) in London, so it is perfection. Let's start!
ROR CHARACTERS WATCHING THE MOVIE SWEENEY TODD (WITH: NOAH, JACK, HLOKK, HERACLES)
Tumblr media
Warnings: mention of violence, suggestive
Noah
He has never watched the movie but always wanted to do it, so he gladly accepts your invitation to do it together
In the end, he loves it with all his heart
Every scene is perfection to him: he really, really enjoys every frame, every dialogue, staring at the screen with big starry eyes and seeing himself in Sweeney Todd
Your presence next to him only makes him happier
If you are scared about some scenes, Noah hugs you tightly whispering sweet nothings to you, trying (and managing) to calm you down
But Noah is also amused by your reactions, and sometimes he can pinch your sides in the most unexpected moments to make you scream and jolt
He is so excited that he cannot reach the end of the movie to jump on you, pin you against the couch and start to making out, tearing your clothes as he undresses you
He finishes to watch the movie after hours of love making, with you asleep in his arms and pressed against his chest
Of course, from now on, there will be other movie evenings like this...
And obviously the movie is watched with the lights turned off.
Tumblr media
Jack the Ripper
Jack has already seen the stage play of Sweeney Todd and liked it a lot
So, when he hears your proposal about watching the movie together, he accepts in no time
This man keeps on making elegant comments during the whole movie
Jack giggles at every death, except for the ones where the victims are innocent
Sometimes his voice tone increases, as soon as he encourages Sweeney to keep on his intentions
"Your taste in movies is... worthy of special attention"
He doesn't touch you because he is too respectful, but if you are unease during a scene he caresses your hands until you are calmer
Every now and then he glances at you with a sweet smile on his face
When the movie ends, he applauds
He really love the evening and kindly thanks you to have inviting him
He would love to see other horror and macabre movies with you, but if you don't want to no worries, he adapts to your wishes
Tumblr media
Hlokk
WHAT THE FUCK
NO NO NO
HOW RUDE
She screams during all the movie and keeps complaining about how much blood and violence there is
+ Acid comments every second
In the end you have to stop because it is impossible to keep on with the mess she is making
"The first time I will be in charge of the movie!"
She doesn't like the evening, but in the end she recognizes it isn't your fault, so she decides to give you another opportunity
BUT this time she is the one who decides everything, and you can't help obeying
Tumblr media
Heracles
Half and half. He is not so amused by the movie but keeps on watching to make you happy
Still, he asks you about your movie tastes...
And why do you choose especially this movie to watch together
He doesn't judge, he wants only know
He ends up liking some scenes, but he won't watch the movie a second time
Even if he would have loved a different evening, he doesn't complain and politely asks you out for another evening
This time no movies - especially not the macabre ones -
