Well, that was that. The elder gent allows himself to lean back and pry his focus away from the layering and stacking of cards he'd only just been set on. Cards scattering and spilling where they may. Ah, well, at least it entertained the kid for as long as it had, that was the whole point of the make-shift project anyway. His eyes slowly fall over onto the tiny cherub, the gambler takes note of the sheer joy from chaos that the small angel seems to be experiencing; an appetite for mayhem if he ever saw one.. Yup. This one was gonna go pretty damned far. Takes a certain type and fortune was smiling on the kid, for now.

Husk reaches for his trusted bottle of booze; gives it a swirl once it's in hand. "And that's the way the cookie crumbles." He mumbles before thowing back the bottle for a swig.

oh!! i also think it's very in character that katarina, while in combat, is prone to taunting her oponents. this isn't purely arrogance — it is also strategy. she knows (and has a lot of firsthand experience in that sense) how emotions might make one prone to mistakes and openings. i'm certain, whether she likes it or not, this is something she learned while being trained by marcus. when fighting someone she doesn't know, the taunts would likely be more broadly directed to their skill or standing, which are easier targets. a lot of it is trial and error, but she is good at reading people (she bet on trying to taunt garen using lux being a mage, only to confirm he already knew; but she also bet he'd be pissed that his sister had any interest in sylas, which does work to make him angry to an extent). some people, like her dad, are obviously well in control of their emotions, enough this alone wouldn't be enough to throw them off balance. but sometimes the split second distraction is all one needs to get an opening.

which is to say, katarina is definitely purposefully annoying while fighting. she'll talk and taunt and try to rile up oponents. and hey, if she has fun doing that, that's only a bonus.

Just a tip to artists (from the cheap unprofessional bad artist I am) draw purposefully bad art, like don't even try, make it crappy, make it cringe.

It's cathartic and frees you to have fun and put out ideas before you lose them to your self-doubt, and you can always go back and redraw them better.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
