i think one reason that i get so annoyed/upset with people de-aging milf and dilf characters in fanart is that it perpetuates the stereotype that life ends at 25, and it doesn't. not at all. i don't know if that's an american thing, a western thing, or just a thing in general, but it has bothered me for a long time, even more so as i've gotten older and reached the age where my own aging is becoming visible.

there's nothing wrong with growing older. life does not end at 25. life does not end at 35. at 45. at 55. you are not less of a person because of some arbitrary number, and i'm really tired of society acting like that's the case.

i want to see characters with wrinkles and laugh lines and frown lines and eye bags. i want to see characters that look their age. it's okay to age. the whole obsession with youth is dangerous, as it makes people feel like once they hit a certain age, they don't deserve to enjoy life. or like they are "old" because they have a few wrinkles (or a lot) or gray hair (like I have since I was in my late teens).

the world is hard enough as it is. we don't need to add to it by imposing ridiculous standards on ourselves.

Leaving Elain and Azriel out of art with Nesta and Feyre and Cassian and Rhys just makes me so sad. Elain is literally an Archeron sister and Azriel is one of the batboy brothers. Even if you don't ship them, to exclude them from pieces with their siblings is just... Really sad. I feel like Elain gets left out of the family pieces more than Azriel (even as some have Gwyn... who is just Nesta's friend, while Elain is one of the sisters....) and really... The absence is glaring. Like her or not, she's an Archeron, and if her sisters are there... She should be too.

I really hope her book resolves all this. The fact that the 'shipwar' between a canon ship and a crack ship has gotten to the point of artists leaving Elain and Azriel out of pictures with their family members to avoid 'controversy' is just... It's really sad.

Look. I loved LOVED lucifer series in general and I absolutely onboard with s6 deckerstar daughter and time travels cause I adore both this tropes, but the way it was handled....... that was unnecessary cruel and poor. I love good time loop ouroboros terminator style written tragedies that you can't avoid to happen, but that didn't make sense in lucifer. First of all RORY HAD WINGS ALL HER LIFE. If she was so angry at Lucifer and wanted revenge/answers so bad that she literally involuntary time traveled to get it, why couldn't she JUST FLY TO HELL AND CONFRONT HER DAD AT ANY POINT OF CHLOE'S LIFETIME? Makes no sense she didn't try to find him in her own timeline at least once, he's not hard to find, he's not hiding, Lucifer is literally in the first place you would go look for him - in HELL. No need to time travel for that, girl.

More than that, if they couldn't stop the time loop, they def could STAGE all her acts in it in order to have a good life together and still keep the story happening. Like, Lucifer would work part-time in hell (like Ame in heaven) an spend half of the time with his family on earth, and tell Rory what happened in s6 and what she did, so Rory would KNOW about her future and learn to control her powers sooner with her dad's help. Then when it's time Rory could time traveled back and simply ACT angry, so her parents would believe the story she told, how she never knew her father and how he just vanished and all of that (that is not true anymore or never ever was true at all). Yes, all of this is a little messed up, but it is still more logical and satisfying than the fact that Rory basically ruined her parents' and her own happy life on earth together for her character development arc, that she wouldn't need at the first place if she didn't do it.

There's a lot tragic about the scene at Guanyin Temple but I was thinking about it again today and just... The bit where Jiang Cheng is talking about how Wei WuXian had said they'd be together forever, would be the Twin Prides of Yunmeng, and rebuild Lotus Pier together is especially bad because WWX kinda... was there for that? Like, obviously not in person --- first because of the Wens, and subsequently because of the whole falling-off-a-cliff/being-torn-apart-by-fierce-corpses bit --- but Jiang Cheng always (literally) had a piece of his brother inside him, and it never left (even when WWX died), and it was a large part of why Lotus Pier could be rebuilt, and just. In a nutshell, everything hurts

Backrooms

The Backrooms became super popular a while back and just became discount SCP with “unimaginable horrors” lurking there chasing all who ventured in.

but that’s not the true horror of the backrooms. There’s no demon lurking in the shadows, no mysterious grime leaking from the ceiling, no, the true horror of the backrooms are the backrooms themselves.

The Backrooms are an immense, infinite maze of rooms; each one comprised of occasionally flickering fluorescent lights, off-white wallpaper of differing- but uniform- designs, and slightly soggy off-white carpeting.

The Backrooms are seemingly abandoned, almost as if the people who once lived or worked there vanished or left, leaving only the lights on. Sometimes, the carpet is packed down in such a way it looks like a heavy desk or shelf once stood there. 

The Backrooms are quiet. Quiet in such a way that what background noise there is makes it even quieter. The sounds of air rushing through the vents, of fans spinning forever in place, of air conditioners turning on and off, of hidden pipes rattling with unseen contents, of fluorescent lights humming and flickering.

The Backrooms never end, each new room, each wall passed, always different from the last. Never the same, not even going backwards would the rooms stay the same. Minor differences, the wallpaper changing, the carpet a different shade of off-white, the ceiling tiles in different patterns, all look the same, they blend together, as if they were all one room.

The true horror of The Backrooms isn’t what’s there, it’s what isn’t there. It’s the things long forgotten and unremembered, the things that tickle memory, the things that give pause, the things that make eyes wander, that make ears perk, the things that make the heart stop. The things that make you want to explore, that make you fear.

There are no monsters in The Backrooms.
