Incredibly disappointed and Really grossed out by the mass media and the public not respecting Catherine Princess of Wales' normal request to let her recover from a planned surgery within the time frame they specifically gave.
She asked you to leave her alone. They told you how long it would be exactly. And you all still hounded her and wouldn't leave her alone.
And now this has forced her to reveal more personal information that is nobody's business a whole week before she was due to originally return.
You hounded her so much that she has had to reveal something personal, private, traumatic that she, her husband and her children are only just still dealing with.
She's a real human being, not a robot. You should have just left her alone. Now she needs more time for her preventative treatment, and to recover from that too. Will you leave her alone, and her children alone this time? Will you genuinely respect their privacy this time?
Will you understand that public figures are human beings too who deserve respect and space ? Who are not answerable to you about their personal private information?
Is this really the state of humanity? That you didn't even respect a very well liked figure when she specifically asked you to respect her space and privacy in recovery? With the exact amount of time given?
Was it really so hard just to respect her?

Being a compassionate person tip:
If someone comes to you and says, “I’m very hurt because it seems like you’re not considering my feelings in this situation.”
Don’t then say, “Well, try to think about my side…”
Just…
Don’t.

the whole kit conner and gaylor situation just goes to show how entitled the lgbt community and stan culture has become. let me be the first to tell you that parasocial relationships with REAL LIFE PEOPLE will have consequences. harassing REAL LIFE PEOPLE with your projections and overinflated ego will only hurt the people you care about. do not do this. just because they sing a song or play a character that you deeply identify with does not mean they owe you something. there are other celebrities, artists, and pop culture figures out there who are open about their sexuality and/or identity that will benefit from your support. go stan them. i am so disappointed that a child has to suffer because of these unfortunate circumstances.

Incredibly frustrating when someone is causing problems and then claims “if there’s a problem just talk to me” like doing so won’t at best get you passive excuses about how their behavior isn’t their fault and most likely will get you ignored/make the problems worse

this comes one day after he vetoed a ceasefire at the security council.
who was it who is in need of HUMANITARIAN AID at the moment? is it not gaza? where you continue to allow and fund literal war crimes to protect your own interests?
interesting stance on human rights from the US government this weekend.

Today is January 27th, which is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, and I'd like to get some stuff off my chest.
First, I'd like to take a minute to point out that it is not Yom HaShoah, which is the day Israel (and by extension large portions of the Jewish diaspora population) uses as Holocaust Remembrance day. Yom HaShoah is on the 27th of Nisan, a date that was selected to commemorate the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, centering Jewish resistance in our own story. That date was selected nearly five decades before the UN picked January 27th, which was selected to center our white saviors who came to liberate Auschwitz. This is utter bullshit. And no excuses for not being able to handle a moving date on the Gregorian calendar - April 19th would be the Gregorian equivalent, and it was not selected.
Having said that, given how many infographics I've seen over the last four months about how people are increasingly denying or doubting the Holocaust, I figure any day that acknowledges it is a good thing, so yeah, let's take two days to remember. I think it's worth it.
So given that this is the Holocaust Remembrance Day that centers our goyishe friends, let's talk about how our goyishe friends should observe the day.
1. It is likely that you never learned a lot of details about the Holocaust. Holocaust education usually boils down to, "and the Nazis put Jews in camps in order to kill them, and a lot of Jews were killed in gas chambers, and about 6 million died in all." Go learn some details. Read or watch an account from a survivor.  Learn about the medical experiments, or the death marches. Learn some details about what the gas chambers were actually like. Try to understand the horror. Learn about the SS St. Louis or the Evian conference in 1938 where almost every country on Earth decided it was better to let the Jews die in Germany than to allow them into their own countries.
2. On that note, take the time to understand that anti-semitism neither began nor ended with the Nazis, and that even the "good guys" were incredibly antisemitic.Try to recognize that the antisemitism that was present where you live right now in the 1930s didn't just disappear, it just went into hiding. Think about where it might be hiding now.
Basically, because this is the Holocaust Remembrance Day for the goyim, I want to focus our remembrance of what happened on the goyim. What did they do? What could they have done to help? Why didn't they? We can come back in May for more Jewish focused learning, but the Holocaust could not have happened without A LOT of willing goyim, and I think we should spend the day remembering them and their actions.
And as a side note: if you happen to read this and you've chosen to spend the day engaging in Holocaust denial or Holocaust inversion, then know that my hope for you is that something happens in your life to teach you empathy and basic human decency. And I hope it isn't pleasant for you.

I am deeply saddened, but not surprised. Israel timed their massacre in Rafah to coincide with their bullshit Super Bowl commercial. Why? How does that help anyone, how does that keep safe any IOF soldier involved in the massacre? The answer is, it doesn’t. There was no military reason for coordinating this. It’s just more unnecessarily cruel, evil, inhumane, jingoistic bullshit.
Look, people keep saying, “But what about Hamas and the hostages?” and Oh My Fucking God, why do we have to keep explaining basic concepts like empathy, compassion, humanity and basic human decency?
FFS, this is such a basic ass concept that it’s a “bad guy” foreshadowing trope used in comic books and movies—even Padmé Amidala recognized that Anakin murdering an entire race (genocide!) in retaliation for killing his mother was wrong. Thor Odinson, notorious for his hatred of Frost Giants, refused to let Loki completely destroy the realm of Jotunheim, because Thor understood that genocide is wrong.
It sounds really silly using Star Wars and Marvel movies to explain why what Israel is doing is wrong, doesn’t it? But I’m Black, and I’ve seen how wayyy too many white people will be depressed and cry about the death of imaginary characters but then turn right around and not give a single fuck about actual living breathing, non-white people being systematically oppressed and methodically murdered.
Israel is committing ethnic cleansing, war crimes and genocide against Palestinians. They have already murdered nearly 30,000 noncombatant civilians, a full third of whom were small children.

When will Israel’s barbaric, uncontrollable desire to kill Palestinians end? When is it going to be enough?

what if we say america should be wiped out all the map
I think if your politics have gotten to “wipe them off the map” levels then you should take a minute to reevaluate what the fuck you even stand for. There are a lot of things to criticize the US for but. There are 74 million children in the country. US Americans give a billion dollars a day to charity on average a year. The US exports 10% of the global food supply.
You wanna wipe all that off the map? You wanna kill or displace over 300 million people? All the black people living there? All the gay people? All the Jews? All the Muslims? All the Indigenous Americans? If you answered yes to any of these questions, seek therapy, because you’ve got a problem with generating basic human decency and empathy.
If your political take is “I don’t like the way a government works so I want to kill all the people who live there” you can fuck off my blog. Any political take which prioritizes death, hatred, and destruction over positive practical solutions for change has no place here.

Just came across this. I'm more appalled when people dismiss others for expressing any sympathies to Israel. In fact, I recall a fanartist who, in reaction of a voice actor Rob Paulsen expressing sympathy for Israel and the hostages, denounced him as a Zionist and drew Donnie supporting Palestine.
Tumblr media
When Jews or Israelis express their pain, if the reaction is to start making number-based comparisons, as if that resolves the entire question of "who do we get to feel for" (like we can't feel for innocents on both sides), it's just self-exposing people as lacking any real human empathy, or care about all human life.
It's as if you told someone you're hurting because your mom died, and their reaction would be, "Who cares? You should are more about your neighbor's pain, who just lost FIVE cousins. Not just one realtive, but FIVE! So that's the only thing we should all care about, yourself included!"
That is NOT a normal reaction, it IS devoid of empathy and basic human decency, and it IS mind boggling that this even has to be explained to people.
...Not to mention that if we really wanted to try and make the metaphor work in terms of context as well, then it would be like if you were being told that you should care more about your neighbor's pain over losing five cousins than about your own mom's death, when two of the cousins are known to be responsible for having murdered your mom, and it's very likely someone in that family is exaggerating about how many cousins have died, and that same relative also keeps promising that soon enough, they'd murder you, too.
I hope you're okay and taking care of yourself, lovely! xoxox

Feeling grateful for my mom today. 10 years ago I came out to her and she had no idea what asexual/aromantic meant, but she said, "Are you happy? Do your friends support you? Oh, you have friends like that, wonderful! As long as you're happy, I'm happy for you."
Just instinctive kindness, even toward something she didn't understand. Looking at the unknown with empathy instead of fear or annoyance or "Ugh, kids these days." That's the sort of person I want to be, too.
(She also got kicked out of a church 50 years ago for supporting gay rights. But I only found out about this later, in passing, because she didn't think what she did was anything special - just basic human decency.)
You won't always know the right words to say, or the current issues, or the answers to those issues. We're all ignorant or mistaken sometimes. But you can always try to be kind, and that alone can take you pretty damn far.
