so...i got some more giftless grandkids thoughts here, written in bullet points because my brain just kept going AHAHHAHA

I’m currently listening to the vocal mashup of the grandkids of waiting on a miracle while im going through the giftless grandkids tag as im taking a break from other aus, it’s very fun and sets the mood somehow AHHAHHA

I’m really glad they have each other and are thriving even without their gifts, and they likely already got used to not having gifts and wouldn’t care, and that’s so real of them

The mashup is making me think of some things tho, ngl AHHAHAH

But anyway, yes, I currently have many thoughts

Was thinking about the reasons for why Casita would crack and fall, considering the kids are close with each other here and the adults (minus Alma oof) are all there supporting them, Bruno included since he never went to the walls

And as I read some of your posts and think about it more, it makes sense

There are several main things that would make Casita crack here—aka the family themselves cracking—would be:

Ofc, there’s still Alma’s pressure on the triplets and her confusion and unintentional hurt towards the grandkids

Most likely how Julieta is hiding the big secret on why they didn’t get their gifts and also their doorknobs

Another is how Pepa and Bruno are also hiding the vision tablet from everyone but specifically Julieta

Still trying to think of other reasons, but those are the main ones, I think

In canon, Bruno had been patching up the cracks, which definitely helped Casita stay up longer, but he never went to the walls here, so how would Casita and the family last until a little after Antonio’s ceremony (assuming we’re still going with something similar to canon timeline)?

Here is where the kids’ good relationships come in, their love and care are helping hold things together, even without Bruno repairing the cracks

The process of Casita cracking would be slower here compared to canon

So what happens when the kids—the main reasons for Casita still being able stand—are faced with the revelation that they could have gotten their gifts back then? Could have possibly avoided a lot of heartache and ridicule and disappointment from the people around them? And the reason they didn’t are because of the adults? Because of Julieta?

They hyperfocus on the bad parts, overshadowing the good parts because its an intense and shocking moment and revelation for them, I think

In the moment of the revelation, that’s likely going to upset them, maybe even break them a little, because why? Why did they—? 

Of course, they’ll later have the full realization that they grew up happier without the gifts, but again, that’s later

Also, pretty sure they focus more on the fact that it seemed like the adults they trusted lied and deceived them in a sense, almost like a betrayal (except ofc its not)

This, too, would connect to how Julieta says in that one giftless grandkids art of yours, “I didn’t want to hurt them—to hurt anyone.”

And then, with the love faltering for a moment, that’s how Casita falls apart

Also, why am I imagining the kids finding the vision tablet that Pepa and Bruno are likely hiding, making them realize what Julieta is hiding, which then starts the realizations, arguments, and full-on cracking of Casita?

This would then parallel canon with Bruno’s vision too

This means we get to see all the kids trying to figure things out together too

After everything, I can really see Julieta and the rest of the adults gifting the kids their doorknobs again as a surprise—which they will later use to get their gifts too AHAHHAHA YEAHHH

ANYWAY. Y'all might not now, but Mic here as been helping me in world building for this au 🤭🤭 its gonna be one of the next fics I do, since Mamabel and Werewolf are finished (will be updating today after I finish Mama Isa. And if my wifi will let me <\\\3)

ANYWAY THESE IDEAS?? ARE SO RAD...Triplets being in the spotlight because the grandkids have no gifts, its so sad. But honestly, Alma is just pushing them because she needs to prove that the miracle is ok. Implying that the kids did something. Subtle, but whatever.

Also, the kids are like Mirabel in canon, constantly trying to prove themselves and helping out around town. Meanwhile there's a certain group of villagera who don't even like them. Not all the villagers, but definitely a good chunk. There may or may not be a rather crude mural somewhere in town out of the way. But there :(

But anyway. The kids do have hobbies relating to their gifts! The husbands, feeling guilty, gave the kids presents, gifts to give them something to do since Alma couldn't "assign" them anything (which they were grateful for).

Isabela got some gardening gloves and tools, and is really into gardening and farming, and is always tending to her garden or helping out with the farmers in town. She also tends to all the plants in Casita. Dolores loves to play music, and after Félix gave her first guitar, she was hooked. She has tons of instruments, and actually taught Mirabel to play the accordion; she helps with entertainment, like Camilo. Agustín got Luisa some dumb bells, she actually asked for them. She wanted to strong and still help out, and regulating exercises and mostly helps out with packing and loading or at the quarry.

Camilo was give some costumes and puppies, and he's been into performances and theater since. He also performs for the kids, and plays alongside Dolores often. Mirabel was given new sewing stuff. Instead of Alma teaching her most of what she knew, Agustín helped her, since he knew some, and she kept the fashion and crafts hobby up. She helps repair things around town, and does the occasional clothing repair. Antonio still is finding his hobby, but the grandkids know he really loves animals. They actually suggested Félix get him a pet. So what does he get him? A parrot. Antonio loves that parrot like no other, and he's always around him, trailing behind Luisa.

DESIGNS 🌚🙏🙏 I'll post the family tree later, and maybe draw the triplets because their designs changed but me and Mic are still working in them. But the kids❗❗ Their clothes are very plain and dull, because the seamstress refused to make their clothes any fun. Even Mirabel can only embroider so much, and she rarely has time to do so cause she's so busy helping. But there's some subtle designs <33

Julieta really did and does mean well in this au, but drastic actions really do cause drastic results in some cases. Her pull those doorknobs was definitely drastic. While the kids are happier and aren't nearly as pressured, they feel inadequate, and like something is missing :(( And then there's vision tablet (that's like over 40 years old 💀), but that's a whole other can of worms.

Another day, another migraine.

John winced as he unlocked the door to his apartment. Lately he's been worked to the bone, stressful days and nights of expelling dark beings from earth aren't easy on the soul. He has substances like cigars and alcohol for when things get too hard on him; though at times like these his splitting headache would only worsen if he indulged in them. Luckily he has one other thing that can weaken the pulsating pain in his head, his boyfriend.

Opening his bedroom door he noticed you standing by the side of your shared bed, folding clothes. You had your earphones in, humming the tune of your favorite song. He took a second, despite wanting to do more than crash in your arms he had to take a minute to admire you. His half lidded eyes scanned over your dark skin, a small smile gracing his lips as he appreciated every detail until his eyes hit your face. You looked so peaceful and comfortable, a smile was on your lips as your head bopped to the music he could only faintly hear through your earphones. Suddenly, your eyes met his and you jumped slightly in shock at the sight of John. A smile quickly replaced your look of shock as you removed your earphones from your ears. Pausing your music, you started walking towards John who was now standing properly. You immediately ingulfed him in a hug, smiling at the feeling of him nuzzling into you. "I didn't hear you come in," you said, pulling back from the embrace just enough to look at his face. It was then that you noticed the large bags that rested underneath his eyes. Kissing his cheek, you rubbed his back as he mumbled something you couldn't make out. He quite literally became puddy in your hands the seconds you hugged him. "Cuddles?" You asked him as you kissed his forehead. He nodded and you let him go, noticing how he attempted to chase after your touch. You let out chuckled as you walked to your bed to remove the half folded laundry. John undressed as you did so, tossing his discarded clothes in a random corner of the room.

You both got into the bed, John immediately grabbing you once you laid down. "How's your head love?" He groaned, "feels like I downed a whole bottle of whiskey then got hit by a bloody bus." You chuckled at his wording, running your hands through his slightly tangled blonde hair. "Maybe you should cut back on the cigarettes and alcohol hun." He only grumbled in response to that. Either he disagreed with you, or your scalp massage was making him sleepy. 'Honestly it's probably both' you think to yourself as you watch John cuddle into you. He always loved to held by you, opting to be little spoon whenever and wherever he could. With how stressful his day to day life is you don't mind comforting your boyfriend whenever he needs it. You often called him your cuddle-bug because of it. He acted like he hated the nickname though with the way he's snuggling up to you right now you think it's rather fitting.

marsh the zoroark is my fave pokemon oc basically. i adore her. “what if you got a zorua or zoroark that was just weird and not like the rest” that’s her.

she was stuck alone in an ice cave for an unknown amount of time as a zorua and as such readily latches onto akari for companionship, thus creating her bias in favor of humans (others of her own kind didn’t do jack SHIT for her she owes them NOTHING). she then proceeds to fixate on trying to attack akari’s shoes, but only while she’s actively moving. like a fluffy little ghost puppy pouncing and biting at her soles and people are initially like oh my god a zorua but she’s just a cute lil thing pawing at loose leaves and grass and getting knocked over when she gets overconfident with her shoe hunting and akari accidentally bops her

her friendliness prevented her from evolving for a long time, and not evolving meant she wasn’t strong enough to take out and seriously train, all looping around endlessly until that whole banishing incident. akari handles it like a goddamn champ but marshie is Fucking Pissed and gets so overwhelmed by sheer, scathing loathing for kamado and his goons, and betrayal on behalf of her bestie and trainer, that she evolves into a zoroark instantly. it takes her a bit to calm down enough to let others near akari, with some exceptions (rei and laventon being the obvious ones), and by the time akari goes back to the village with the red chain, marshie is settled into herself and doesn’t immediately turn hostile in the presence of anyone who talked shit about her trainer. she no longer has a thing for biting shoes. that was her embarrassing middle school phase

she disguises herself as akari to wander through the village and wears the baneful fox mask to differentiate them and also bc her and akari thought it was funny. at no point does she pretend to BE her trainer tho and sometimes the both of them would run errands and get a lot of alarmed double-takes. just a girl and her zoroark. she also does this to approach people easier (rei) so they don’t spook and freak out (rei again) and then when they’re like oh it’s marsh she drops the illusion. she doesn’t like pretending to be human but doesn’t like them being scared of her more

when she first evolved she looked the same as any other hisuian zoroark, but over time her lack of violent hatred closed the wounds across her body, giving her an unmarred, fluffy coat with the typical red and brighter white markings. it’s another way to identify her, along with the ugly scarves. akari frequently reminds others that there’s a daaammnnn good reason she isn’t constantly covered in wounds like her kin (it’s great evidence that she’s a good fox best friend)

besides akari, her favorite people are rei (funny and easily startled child with a pikachu so full of sass for such a small pokemon), prof laventon (was always extremely kind to her and akari and showered marshie with praise from day one), and ingo (also extremely kind to the both of them and talks to her like her trainer does: all friendly conversation and genuine interest. also accidentally taught her about travel safety regulations, whatever that is). marshie is remarkably nosy on top of social and invites herself over to the various wardens’ areas at times. thankfully she was already introduced to them during her traveling with akari as a zorua, so it’s less of a shock. except for iscan, who spooks every time, and so marshie hasn’t been able to approach him without using illusions. he’s very nice however so she tolerates it and even volunteers to scare off any other ghost types who get too close to his camp

Ash is distant from his s/o, it’s a miracle he has an s/o.

Anyway, because he’s distant from her she doesn’t know much about him.

I’m honestly confused as to how he get a s/o. But fuck it, he’s got an s/o that’s ok with his distant self.

You know who doesn’t understand? Kong and bones, those two,(along with everyone else) noticed that sometimes ash walks around with a girl, whose the girl? Who knows.

Sadly kong and bones seem to be the only two that care about the mystery girl that hangs with ash. Alex is too busy helping ash handle the gang.

So kong and bones follow around the girl, only problem is they not the best at sneaking, which is freaking ash s/o out, two guys are following her where ever she goes and it’s creeping her out.

So she goes to tell ash this, ash is pissed cause he thinks it’s people from another gang that found out about his s/o, or worse gonzine men.

He goes to reluctantly tell the gang this, which cause bones and kong to panic cause omg we are the creepy guys following boss s/o around.

They tell him it was actually them following her around cause they were curious about the girl ash is hanging out with.

They get bopped on the head by ash. They then are taken by ash to apologize to ash s/o for freaking her out.

This reveals to s/o that ash is part of a gang and the reason he didn’t tell her was cause she be in danger if she knew.

S/o a little pissed cause ash puts himself in danger but frankly can’t do anything about it. The end.

Cain-

Ok so, cain s/o would probably be let known that he’s part of a gang but not let known about anything else then he’s part of a gang. He wants to keep it separate for safety reasons.

But let’s say his s/o never was let known cause of circumstances.

Cain been dealing with a stubborn enemy gang that keeps killing his men. That’s a problem for him.

The enemy gang on the other hand, knows he has a s/o which means a weak spot.

They decide they were gonna kidnap her and hold her for ransom or something.

So, they kidnapped her, she scared out her wits cause honestly it’s scary.

Everyone hears gunshots outside the hideout, then Cain and his men break down the door and bullets are being shot everywhere, men are falling down left and right.

Cain grabs his crying s/o and runs to the car, his men drive away once s/o is safe.

Cain has to confess he’s actually the leader of a gang, and apologize to s/o for getting her dragged in it.

Shorter-

Shorter has had plenty of girlfriends throughout the years, but he was completely heartbroken by his last one that cheated on him with someone else.

He decided to take a year off from dating

When he met you he fell in love again, of course shorter being a simp, it’s easy for his heart to get broken.

Sing knew that, seeing how miserable he was after his last girlfriend he wanted to make sure you weren’t like the last one.

So basically sing stalked you, which might have be creepy, but it’s some kid that keeps following you around.

Sing actually good that keeping out of sight, so it takes a while for you to notice.

When you do you just ignore it thinking it’s some random kid.

Eventually it gets annoying and you’d confront him.

Sing is shocked you would confront him. But he reveals he making sure you won’t break boss’s heart like the last girl did.

Your confused on who boss is, and sing reveals its shorter, your shorter, the goofball that does stupid things to make you laugh.

Finding out that shorter is boss of the Chinatown gang is shocking cause you honestly never thought your sweet, lovable, goofball could be the boss of a bunch of hoodlum kids. (Is hoodlum the right word?)

You confront shorter about this and he spills the secret that what sing said is true.

Your mad at him for keeping it a secret, but when he explains it’s to keep you safe you forgive him.

Sing still doesn’t trust you tho.

One of his favorite things to do was sitting by your side while you played so you could cover a ballad together late at night. It made feel safe, loved and in love as it made him even more, but subtly, aware of your presence.

So he knew you were good. But aside from a great voice and the piano skills you wrote songs? And you wrote him a song? He was amazed already just knowing the song was yours.

You don't even need to tell him you wrote the song, he just can tell from the start. There's so much of you over every single note and he loves it. He know you that well and he know the feeling because he feels the same way.

Smiling like an idiot in love from the moment you sit down on the piano, shocked the exact moment the song starts and bouncing his legs feeling giddy after that. He starts playing with his hands and looking around the room to try to calm down but he's on cloud 9 and you sound so nice. He tries to be sweet and places his hands softly on top of yours to follow your movements.

He's only trying containing his energy for a few seconds, tho. He's probably very soon jumping over you from your right to give you kisses all over your face while cupping your cheeks to bring you closer as you try to keep on singing.

He constantly bragged about having a talented and hardworking S/O because no one just magically plays the piano and he loves everything you do. He's extremely proud and makes sure to let you know and compliment your results.

He composes rap himself so he would get more involved in that, trying to get to know you better through what inspired you and what you focused on more. Always willing to help and listen.

Whether you were straight forward about it or even if you just handed him the lyrics hidden behind some "can you check something I've been working on?", he would cry.

Like, actually cry. He liked to stand in front of you at the other side of the piano whenever you played so he could look at your face (and sometimes talk about your day) but this time he would regret it and bent over while covering his face for a couple of seconds. Then he would stop being shy since it's just you and ran to hug from behind while whispering "I love you"s into your hair.

He would probably calm down fastly. He was just overwhelmed. You were so cute, the act was so lovely and you looked at him with so much love in your eyes that he genuinely felt he didn't deserve you for a second.

"I love you, I love you. I love you. I love it, you're so good." "You didn't have to, sweetheart. I'll give you something cheesy back, give me time."

He plays the piano too and since he ain't that confident in his (singing and dancing) skills (he should know he's great TT), playing together and sharing music with you would help him. You would cutely bond over improving and hyping each other while covering your favorite songs.

He definitely was not expecting that. He thought he knew you better than you did, and for the most part it was true, but when you started practicing on your own he couldn't understand why. So he was happy just by the fact that you wanted him to hear you again and when you start singing something you wrote for him he freezes with a soft smile.

You do get to finish the song because no matter how much he wants to just jump over you he can't find it in himself to interrupt you when you look so focused, so cute and so into the music.

He just stares in awe moving his hands nervously to try and let his excitement out before reaching out to pat your back while staring at the floor and blushing.

Once you're done, his first reaction is to tell you he loves you because he just realized he'd love to hear your voice everyday even speaking and he knows he's whipped but then he starts blushing more because he didn't mean it to be that simple right after you sang him a whole bop your heart out so prettily.

"I'm also so in love with you... I didn't want to... No, I mean, I meant it when I said I love you, it's just... I didn't want to say it like that."

Moonbin

He plays the piano since he was really young but he was always amazed at how good you were. He'd help you out if he was better or he'd get you to help him if you were more experienced, he just liked to spend time with you, that close, and to sneakily start hugging you.

He could tell you were hiding something from him and he knew you weren't guiltily nervous but just shy. He wanted to help you in your project but you were so possessive over your notes. He honestly just thought it was cute, how excited and energetic you were about it.

Gets so lost in the fluffy feeling inside his chest because of your voice and the beautiful notes you're playing he kind of completely misses your point. He knows the lyrics are cute and sweet but so are you so it's only natural and he's focusing on trying to remember the moment.

He's swaying his arms to the music while smiling at you, without closing his eyes not to miss anything since he's wanting to never leave your side again even if he knows he'll have to. And then gives you a big warm hug telling you how good it was once you're done.

When you tell him the song was for him he falls back on the chair dramatically holding his chest to look up at you with eyes full of love and ask again, just to make sure. Thinking about the song again makes him realize how lucky he is to have someone who loves him that much but it also makes him shy to think about how much he loves you so he just hugs you even tighter as he plays with your hair.

"First of all, I love your music. Second of all, thank you, for everything, really. Lastly, you're what I cherish the most in this world, you know that, right?"

Rocky

Another one that would probably brag nonstop about any skills you have. Like, constantly, even more in front of the members. He'll make sure everyone knows you're talented and will probably ask you to play for him every time you have to be far from each other.

When you start playing he comfortably lays down on a couch behind you but when he realizes your playing your very own love song as he sees your handwritten sheets he gets up to rest his head on top of yours and hug your shoulders as he tries to stop you from hearing his fast heartbeat.

He knows the song is for him from the start but he doesn't want to seem full of himself in case it was just a normal love song so he tries to simply compliment your masterpiece and (not as subtly as he thinks) ask about the inspiration behind.

Even when he tries to play it cool he's giggling as he pulls you on his lap to look into your eyes and make sure you tell him the truth about what got you suddenly so cheesy.

When you say it's because of him since the song is for him his smile grows wider as he says you should have made it clear, not to him but including both your names on the song for the world to know. But he'll whine and trap you against the floor or something like that if you say yes 'cause he's embarrassed since the boys wouldn't let him live.

"What if someone thought the song was for anyone else? Huh? Wait, no, you don't have to... I just love the song as it is. The same way I love just as you are, mhm?"

Sanha

He gets so energetic every time you offer to play for him. Your company gets him charged so he's not longer sleepy, but you offering to do stuff together makes him want to run a marathon just to be together.

He'd be so excited he'd probably even offer to get something you wrote in their album because he's the most supportive baby and working on something together and showing you off is 12/10.

He is sitting right by your side, his head resting on your shoulder and he's able to clearly see and read the notes and lyrics as you start playing so he blushes. You can feel his grip on your waist getting tighter but that could mean he's getting sleepy.

But stills when you looked down to check on him he's staring at you so he hides his face on the crook of your neck and chuckles at his shy self before getting you on his lap so he'll be out of your sight.

He'd ask you to do it again immediately after you finish, with the excuse that he'll be far when on tour and miss you a lot, saying a recording would help him. But he accidentally didn't hit record so he asks you to repeat it for the third time. Laughing louder and enjoying it more and more shamelessly with each passing second.

"I could listen to you for hours. No, don't push yourself too hard, it's okay to get tired. Come here, let's go to bed, hon."

Yeah that’s fair, I’m not picky about my protective equipment (except my gloves cause I need my hands , and my skates if they count but they’re more they gotta be comfy ) there are some bits I don’t like (like my helmet cause it squishes my head or the Jill just cause it never sits right and u can’t adjust it in a game cause it would look weird). My stick tho holy, I got a new one last month and it was the exact same model as the old one but a new curve and I refused to use it for like 3 games cause I wasn’t used to it and didn’t wanna use it and then mess up a shot that would be important. Also I bought it off a mate and she was like want it before your game or after the game at training and I was like after cause I’m not playing with it lol. (They’ve also stopped making the sticks so I’m praying these two (three if you include the one with the different curve) never break cause I love it😂)- sorry for the rant there lmao I love my hockey sticks they are like my children.

like you can see it, there’s a thin sliver of skin between the whites of his eyes and his eyelashes. It makes it look like he’s wearing both fake eyelashes and eyeliner. Very cute

Ramuda doesn’t seem like the type of person to think of that type of thing. I think some part of Ramuda does value Jakurai, seeing as the doctor was the first to not only acknowledge that Ramuda was putting up a front, but to also validate his feelings and his anger, not demean it and call him defective for it. While there does seem to be some tension, Ramuda’s mainly stems from the fact that he’s working for the Party of Words, not because he hates Jakurai. So I don’t see a reason why Ramuda would come to the conclusion of “If I don’t get to live than he doesn’t either” kind of thinking. While it does fit with his “defy Chuuoku” agenda, it just. doesn’t feel right.

Doppo’s first rap seems... awkward, stilted, and weak. Which seems interesting considering that he was the one to suggest the bomb-rush first

Ah yes, Jakurai’s god status of being the healer. The heaven imagery is interesting but I dislike how it had a lot of xtian imagery of heaven. It makes sense considering that the MTR naming theme is shinto gods but maybe stick with the shinto god theme instead of switching it around to xtianity? Shintoism has very unique ideas of heaven and it could have been used in interesting ways

and with the trippy credits came the end of the movie! the only help i’ll be needing is why it was more weird than yellow sub but i had such a fun time with it (especially the snow scene and ‘i need you’)! what a great movie! :D
