Going off with another ask because the brain worms are moving and I need to share this with the world.
How competitive do you think Roma and Feli get for Carnevale? Both brothers have world famous parades and events for it but do you think they'd like. Personally try to one up eachother on them?
they sure do! and anyone with a sibling can understand why :)
i think it is more of a "light teasing" between the two, since they're trying to rekindle their relationship in recent times. but nonetheless carnival here is taken as a serious thing!
however, while the carnival of Acireale is very dear to Romano, carnival is Feli's roman empire if we have to dwell on it. he has far far more parades (Venice, Viareggio, Ivrea) and history that is tied with this festivity. so if the two ever fight about it, it is just dumb teasing about "what parade is actually the oldest".
there have been some instances in some years where romano ACTUALLY traveled up north to his bro and celebrated carnival with him. can you imagine these two throwing oranges at eachother in Ivrea's very famous "Orange Battle"?

I just finished reading Keep The Light Shining by @c-l-y-d-e and ohmygosh what an amazing story! I wanted to create something for the fic and while I was playing my RAV the other day after reading the scene where Slipher comes after Yugi I played this! (or well, something similar. It's hard to replicate improvisation for a recording haha!)
Now to ramble about what I was thinking when playing! SPOILERS for the fic tho so watch out!! -
Recently, I've been trying to express more with my RAV Vast playing, I have the scale B Onoleo which offers both minor and major scales with it's 9 notes. I often play light/calm music, but for this I wanted to explore something more dramatic.
At the start, I'm running my hands over the drum to replicate the sound of the ocean, I try to keep this up throughout the song along with the beat (which I sometimes mess up since I get nervous when recording but I think that adds to the way Yugi was feeling). The start is when Pegasus sends Yugi off into the water, it's scarily calm for too short a time. The beat starts to pick up when Slipher starts to show itself, reaching it's loudest when he finally appears from the water and Yugi is fighting to keep alive. Everything starts to calm near the end when Atem arrives to help him.
Or something like that :p
Some audio processing to make it sound better! Tongue drums are hard to record (>.<;) Hope people enjoy this! And I highly recommend reading Keep The Light Shining!!!

Billy was sitting at the kitchen table— one hand being used to hold open the book he was skimming for the fifth time, the other trapped in a loose thumb war with Steve. He wasn’t sure what Steve was doing— but he started winning any time it distracted him. He wasn’t sure when he had stopped worrying about his father coming home— but he’d pay for that later.
Hushed whispers sounded in the doorway. Billy tensed for half a second before relaxing when he saw Max and El out the corner of his eye. Then he heard the all too familiar sound of Max’s polaroid camera going off.
“I bought that for you two months ago and I’m already regretting it,” Billy groaned, placing his bookmark— that was actually just an old receipt— into his book then letting it fall shut.
“Come on, Billy,” El teased. “You look pretty!”
“Well then, let’s see it.”
Max reached out with the photo in hand. Billy abandoned his thumb war with Steve to grab it— which caused Steve to realize other people were in the room with them. “See what?” he asked, using his now free hand to push up his glasses.
Billy looked at the photo— his face forming into a slight frown. “Why do I look like that?”
Max raised an eyebrow at him. “Happy?”
