I had contemplated doing this post for awhile , because quite frankly I wasn't sure what I was trying to accomplish and even now I am not sure what my goal is. I just know that I don't want to scream into the void . I want to be heard.

Some of you might be aware of one of the most recent tw confession blogs . In one of their more recent posts a very interesting discussion occurred.

One of my mutuals pointed out a collection of fics that are labelled as "101 ways to kill Scott McCall". At first I didn't even notice this , because idk. Maybe I just glazed over it , however when more people began interacting with the publication I SAW IT and I just had to check for myself .

One of said fics is called "Kill-a-Character Bingo - Scott McCall" which is a fanfiction of 26 chapters in which Scott is killed in various grotesque and humiliating ways.This is one of the chapters:

Outside of feeling gross , disillusioned and honestly sick to my stomach , I was also beyond perplexed . It is one thing to dislike a character . To be so annoyed by them that you just want them gone by any means necessary . I can even understand killing them in your own fic as a "treat" . I can't say I am on board with that , but still I can put myself in your shoes...sort of. Writing a fanfiction in which your main focus is a character you loathe , on the other hand, is ...confusing to say the least.

I can already hear some of you saying "It is not like I wrote this" and you are right , but what about the people supporting it .

115+ people apparently consider this good , entertaining . Gave the "author" their silent encouragement to keep going .

To be fair this fic is from the end of 2023 so the kudos are not that much so let's look at their most recent work with the "Dead Scott McCall" tag -"Compare" which was written at the beginning of February 2024

Over 100 kudos in the span of 3 months . Not too shabby for ao3.How much is too much ? How much longer can you use the "just a few rotten apples" argument?

If you are wondering how Scott's life ends in this story , one of the readers was more than happy to inform us.

I am going to avoid name-calling ,okay. I know that realistically not all of you are like this (thank god). I just want to ask. Do you think this is healthy? Do you think that is a fulfilling way for someone to spend their free time? Are you going to be comfortable being near this person and their fans knowing this is one of their "hobbies"? I don't know about you , but I would definitely be keeping my distance.

Again, I have no clue what is the point of this . I don't want you to attack the user . They would most likely just double down on doing what they know best . Maybe some of you would understand why people from my side of the fandom are so willing to accuse you of certain things instead of getting butthurt . Though that is most likely also asking for too much.

I am a little heartbroken I'm not going to finish that fic actually.

I really wanted to commit to a longer fic and I had a lot of great ideas for it. It was going to be a really fun one.

I had a feeling I was going to fall out of love with the fandom or the ship but what actually ended up happening was so much worse. I know it's such a insignificant side affect of the whole bullshit situation with dream but it genuinely ruined my experience with the fandom and characters.

Maybe one day I'll make the story my own and create original characters for it, but I'm just upset that I couldn't finish it as is. It was a fun one.

#im not trying to paint myself as some kind of victim of this situation mind you #im just complaining #and im just upset that i cant bring myself to write about a story i really enjoyed because i cant write about those characters #yes i can seperate the characters from the creators but i genuinely hate even writing dream or any of their names #so to try and write them as very prominent characters in the story is impossible for me lol #it just sucks man #sorry to vent #dream mention #dream situation #ramblings

Also I hate the fact that I can already very much see the picture that’s gonna come as a result of this. Daniel replaces him, Daniel fans* celebrate and fight regular F1 fans about him deserving the seat and Nyck being bad (which is ironic considering the mclaren argument), Liam fans* fight Daniel fans cause they think their fave deserves the seat instead and we all go in one circle forgetting that at the end of the day ANOTHER driver and ANOTHER career have been catastrophically fucked over by the same organisation we’re wanting the drivers to be a part of.

Don’t you love it when petty bitches make complaints to your supervisor

#a chick I used to work with at a previous place complained today to my supervisor about me #apparently I didn't acknowledge her #and I was rude #my supervisor was just like ???#and literally told her 'I've never had any problems with Julisa's customer service'#but obviously given that it was a customer complaint she had to follow it up #which is understandable #it just shits me off cause this chick came through my register one other day recently-ish #and she made no indication of recognising me #so I treated her as I would treat any other customer #I have no idea what I ever did to her to warrant the grudge she seems to hold against me #I've always thought she disliked me cause when she and I worked at the same place I never let her tell me what to do #cause I had been there much longer than she had #so I think that rubbed her the wrong way #especially since I am much younger than her #it just sucks man #I just wonder what her aim was?#like is she that petty that she wants me to lose my job?#I don't understand #on the plus side she apparently told my supervisor that my mum is lovely lmao #which is true #real life shenanigans #julisa.txt

Yes, Greece still exists, we didn't all die 2000 years ago. Yes, people speak Greek. You people are so fucking stupid for real. So many of you claim to love ancient shit but can't even acknowledge the actual living culture of the people whose mythology and classics you romanticize. You keep leaving annoying comments about how you just forget Greek people still exist, thinking you're being quirky because you love ancient stuff soooo much that you forgot about the people it came from. You think about it so little you don't even realize that an actual Greek person has to read this shit, making it clear how little you actually care about the culture beyond the romanticized (and westernized) mythology. Don't claim you love Greece, don't use our mythology anymore if you can't acknowledge that we're still around without making it about how little you think about us. It's mind boggling that you'd think a Greek person would read this and think you're anything but obnoxious. Explode.

It's so fucking stupid but like im so tired of trying so hard to get close to people because every single fucking time something bad happens. Im so tired of it man, im tired of being betrayed by every guy i fucking talk to. My last boyfriend was fucking borderline abusive, the last guy i talked to disappeared and was talking to a bunch of other guys, and now the most recent one lied to me about everything about him. like what the fuck man? whatd i do? is it really to much to ask that there just be one guy out there that isnt out to get me?
