I’ve been seeing some stuff in the Good Omen’s tag regarding the book that I find Distressing 

The Good Omens book is really good and really funny, however, it is not perfect. I cannot stress this enough. The book was written eight years before I was even born and is VERY MUCH a product of its time. Certain parts of it have aged poorly, as all comedy has a tendency to age poorly. The main thing I keep seeing people comment on is Aziraphale is in fact called the F-slur by a girl at Warlock’s birthday party. This does happen but is said exactly once by a bratty kid you are not supposed to like. That does not excuse the joke, but I feel the context is important as I keep seeing this brought up. 

Just- have some critical thinking. For the love of god. Neil Gaiman is a good man who writes good books and has learned and changed in the last 30 years, don’t forget he wrote the show, everything that you love about it was included by him. I’ve been involved in fandom for close to nine years and fans turning on the creators of their media for petty reasons is the first step into becoming toxic, and I do not want to see Good Omens go down that road.

oh man im actually not up to date with all of this drama but the gist of it, by my understanding, is that they have some sort of fight, neil gaiman decides to dip on his kid and takes an impromptu flight to move back to the UK from new zealand. following this his wife, amanda palmer, notorious drama hound, posts about it on her patreon saying theyre getting a divorce, and apparently the divorce part is news to gaiman
