Hiya! I’m just getting into m!ik manga and you mentioned there was a spin off?? What’s it called?
Heyy!! Omg I always love seeing new people joining the m!ik train!
Currently m!ik has 4 side manga/spin off's:
After School! Iruma-kun, Mairimashita! Iruma-kun Official Anthology - Basically an anthology of various artists compiled with small m!ik stories with the main cast (various chapters)
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun: If Episode of Mafia - The newest spin off where it's the main cast in a mafia AU setting (only 2 chapters so far)
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun: Kalego Gaiden - More canon compliment, its the backstory of Kalego, Opera and Balam (2 chapters, another coming soon I think?)
We Are the Main Characters of the Demon World! - A spin off with a completely different cast in the Misfit Academy and Demon world. People usually sleep on this one and its definitely less serious but I love it!! (70+ episodes out so far I think)
The only one currently adapted into the anime is the main story and some parts from Kalego's

Rambling Essay on Sir Pentious and Alastor as Narrative Foils
Okay so, as a Christian myself, I like to apply the Jack Saint Test when analyzing stories about heaven, hell, and the afterlife.
The original version of Mr. Saint’s test goes thus: whenever a story involves talking animals, it is either a story about animals, a thinly veiled story about humans, or a work that sends mixed messages and muddies its metaphors.
For example, Shark Tale is a story about people. If all the characters were replaced with humans, the story would still make sense, as an odd couple buddy film about lying to the mafia (possibly a cannibal mafia, but I’ve seen weirder).
Whereas something like Bambi would be difficult to transpose onto humans without a number of questions being raised. Such as why a hunter is killing a human mother, why the kid matures to an adult over the course of a single year, etc.
And I’d say that the Land Before Time movies sent mixed messages and confused the hell out of me as a child. Anything where both the predators and prey were sapient and morally neutral freaked me out, tbh.
Anyway, the religious version of the Jack Saint Test would be phrased thus: stories which involve heaven, hell, and the afterlife are either stories about Religion, stories about Morality, or stories using a particular Aesthetic.
The Chronicles of Narnia are stories about Religion, specifically Christianity, complete with Lion Jesus and Bird Satan. Even if C.S. Lewis was using allegory, he was trying to convey information that was true in his worldview.
The Good Place is a story about Morality. It doesn’t care in the slightest about what the afterlife might actually look like, or even if one exists. It merely uses the framework as a method for taking the audience along for a philosophic ride about the true nature of good and evil.
Mairimashita! Iruma Kun is a story which uses religion as an aesthetic. It uses hell as a backdrop for an isekai story about making a found family out of demons. Superb, 10/10 would cry again. Not much to do with real-world religion, but it has some interesting notes on xeno-psychology, specifically on how morality might develop in sapient extremophiles.
Hazbin Hotel straddles the line between Aesthetics and Morality. Specifically about judgment, punishment, and redemption, taking place in heaven and hell as conceived by pop culture.
So yeah, St Peter as a blond white guy, demons being able to buy and sell souls like in Faust, or redemption being something possible to earn—none of those bother me, because this is clearly a story about the way that humans judge other humans in our mortal lives. It’s a modern myth, and a character-driven one at that.
That being said, I am certainly grateful that they seem to be taking the veggietales route, and are trying to avoid depicting Furry Jesus, or God the Furry. It is an interesting detail that though ‘God’ and ‘Jesus Christ’ are used as expletives in-universe, Charlie mentions neither in her opening monologue in episode 1, she even avoids mentioning God by saying that the angels worship ‘good.’
Honestly, there might not be a God in this universe, and that would be a fascinating choice from a worldbuilding perspective. Although they might simply be going with the ‘clockwork creator’ route, since the angels were the ones who created Adam, Eve, and Lillith.
Jesus not being mentioned in a story about redemption is kind of weird. Obviously, Charlie is the Christ-figure of the story. Or Anti-Christ figure as the case may be. But if the crucifixion happened, why is forgiveness a foreign concept to the angels? If it didn’t, why is ‘Jesus Christ’ a swear in universe? Is it a myth? A plot hole?
As I said, the Doylist explanation is very obviously that they’re trying to avoid stirring up too much controversy (in the first season, at least). But considering the Watsonian one is a fascinating thought exercise. (“In 10,000 years you’re the first to change this town”? If there was a resurrection, it did nothing to change hell? I will just throw that thought into the corner and ignore it).
Anyway, moving on from what the story didn’t say, what it did have to say is fascinating.
Other people have already pointed out that comparing Hazbin Hotel to Helluva Boss, the Sinners seem to sink deeper into evil than the Hellborn, comparing Rosie to Beelzebub, Valentino to Asmodeus, and Alastor to Lucifer.
And yeah, that’s a fair point. The angels and demons mostly just seem to be Normal Guys, doing their best. They have the expectation of living possibly forever unless killed, so they seem to place a greater value on stability of personality (most of them, at least). Whereas many of the humans died at the rock bottom of a self-destructive spiral and then continued to dig themselves deeper as demons.
But the two characters I find most fascinating to compare are Alastor and Sir Pentious. I was not expecting those two to be foils, and was delighted at the contrast.
I’m Ace myself, and I’m very used to the less ‘fuckable’ characters getting shoved into ‘redemption equals death,’ so I was feeling pretty cynical when Pentious’ ship got vaporized. Especially when Alastor had already survived.
And then I thought, ‘wait, there was no narrative need for both of them to face death going up against Adam, not unless the story was making a point about it.’
And then I started noticing more similarities.
Even in the pilot, the two of them clashed, with Alastor considering Sir Pentious to be beneath his notice until the other demon ripped his coat.
In terms of similarities, both are ambitious, with Alastor desiring power and freedom, and Pentious longing for recognition and accomplishment.
Both make deals in pursuit of power. Alastor gathering the souls of those with less power than he has, and Pentious spying for Vox and building war machines for conquest.
Their strengths and weaknesses, however, are different. Alastor is cold and competent, but allergic to trust and sincerity. Pentious is creative and sincere, though hot-blooded and pompous.
Now, the series is far from over, but in the first season at least, it was humility that saved Pentious and pride that damned Alastor.
Pentious is a buffoon. He’s not charismatic, at least not at first, but he’s not afraid to put his whole heart into anything he’s doing. He fails as a spy, fails as a paramour, fails as a hero. But he didn’t fail as a friend.
Alastor succeeds at infiltrating the Hotel and gaining Charlie’s regard, as well as a very literal favor from Hell’s Princess. He succeeds as an overlord. He succeeds in surviving his fight with Adam.
But he failed to redeem himself.
Now, don’t get me wrong, “I acknowledge that you are my friends, but I won’t die for you,” is huge progress. If Alastor didn’t want to be redeemed, he should have killed Charlie before she adopted him. She will never give up on him now, and Alastor is already as good as doomed.
...saved, I meant saved.
Ahem.
But—see, here’s the thing.
Alastor was so CLOSE.
Alastor the manipulator, the dealmaker, hedged his bets and took steps towards obtaining what he wants more than anything else right now: freedom and power. That’s what all his scheming and plotting is aiming for.
But he’s only working towards it. He doesn’t have anything to show for it yet.
Sir Pentious, pure of heart, dumb of ass, gave his life for his friends, the ultimate act of love. (“Greater love hath no man than this: that he give up his life for his friends.”)
And do you know what Sir Pentious has now?
Power and Freedom.
He’s quite possibly a Seraph, so he might even be third in heaven’s hierarchy? Certainly, Emily was thrilled to meet him, and the more sincere heaven-born and the heaven-bound humans will no doubt flock to support him in any efforts he makes to save his friends.
(I wouldn’t be shocked if the egg boys have been spawning as stupid but well-intentioned cherubs for years now, so he might very well have friends already. If nothing else, I’m hoping that Dazzle makes it to heaven.)
It’s just, after I had already separated this story from Christianity in my head, it hits me with a quite literal version of, “He who seeks to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.” (Not that Pentious literally died for Jesus, but “whatever you have done for the least of these, you have done for me.” Emotionally, it resonates the same.)
So yeah, Hazbin Hotel sometimes blends Aesthetic, Morality, and Religion, somewhat muddying the metaphorical water in the process.
But mostly, it’s still a character-driven myth.
And I’m looking forward to season 2.

22. Rant on.
oh hehehehe
I just read the marimashita iruma kun mafia au manga and there are changes to characters that I think are very silly (I'm also just obsessed with this mangakas art) the story is basically like the original story but it's a mafia setting rather than the demon school.
The mangaka keeps Iruma being a very nice person who struggles to say no because of how he was raised a thing. They do the same with Sullivan who is still a dangerous but doting grandfather who just kinda picks up Iruma some how some way.
Somethings that I do find very interesting that aren't bad things are that (1) Iruma got adopted by Sullivan when he was 5 rather than 14, I think this change is because the mafia setting would be a harder one for someone to adjust to necessarily while still keeping the main story happening while Iruma is 14. It also allows him to not be completely clueless on the situation he's in during the manga.
(2) Opera was kinda a jerk in the og manga (kinda just cuz they likes messing with Kalego) but they're much more of a jerk in this one. The fact that they made Opera become part of the mafia when Iruma did is a cool change compared to how obedient they are in the og manga. (They did keep them being non-binary which I'm not surprised by but I'm happy about it) Though Opera is still obedient they're less composed and definitely weren't in the beginning of the manga.
(3) the love trio themselves (Iruma, Clara, and Alice) they have a much different starting relationship than the original manga. To start Alice is an undercover cop who is investigating the mafia. If og Alice knew he would be working against Iruma he'd go insane. The fact that the mangaka made such a difference in their relationship this time around is really silly. I like it, Alice in the og manga respects and idolizes Iruma while this time Alice is simply doing this out of the fact he wants justice and it's his job. Iruma still respects Alice and thinks highly of him in a way but the feeling isn't mutual this time around.
Then Clara, they made her a clown and I adore clowns!! I also love her she's so silly. Something that is very different about this au though is that Clara has been separated from her family. In the manga it's obvious how loving and family oriented she is, and she still is. Just said family is not there and it makes me very sad. I do love clowns but I hate hate hateee circuses.
Tumblr media
they put the silly in a cageee :((
Clara is still Clara but she's a lot more violent ig. Perfect change for a mafia au and I wouldn't really know how this change will change her relationship with Alice or Iruma this time around but I really want to see!!!!!!
They all look super cool this time around
Tumblr media
the sillies I love them. I'ma take less time being a nerd about the art in this manga but I am obsessed with it fyi
Tumblr media
the mangaka uses perspective so well and this au is done so beautifully it makes me go insane.
Tumblr media
Even is marimashita iruma kun they still have great poses and beautifully done linework/shading it helps show off emotion so much in the og manga and I'm going silly for it <3
Tumblr media
LIKE LOOK AT HOW DYNAMIC THIS IS!!! Everything is so flowy and the lighting gives it such a good feel, the perspective is amazing!!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHVISBVIAS I love clara so much ofvaskbvak
This au only has like 5 chapters that I know of so I wouldn't classify any of this as spoilers necessarily. At least it's not as bad as where I am in the og manga. :3

REVIEW | "Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story" | B3 - Boston Bastard Brigade
Tumblr media
Picture this: golf has become the biggest underground racketeering game in the world. The mafia use the game to settle all things big and small, with some having state-of-the-art course builders. One player seeks to play big in order to not just make money, but also protect their family. As the stakes are raised, more colorful characters appear to cause all sorts of chaos on our hero’s game.
Alas, I am not describing the long-awaited sequel to Happy Gilmore. In reality, this is the premise of the brand-spanking-new and fully original anime Birdie Wing: Golf Girls’ Story, which is brought to us via Bandai Namco Pictures (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun). Yet despite its focus being on one of the most boring sports in the world, Birdie Wing manages to deliver more excitement than said sport rightfully deserves!
Tumblr media
Birdie Wing follows Eve (Akari Kito), an underground golf player who uses unique styles on her swing. She makes money by playing some of the richest and dirtiest business associates around, with her friend Lily (Akira Sekine) serving as caddy. While on the job, Eve’s skills grabs the attention of Aoi Amawashi (Asami Seto), who challenges Eve to a game. And for the first time in a while, Eve feels excited to play golf.
Her need to play Aoi again is assisted by Rose Aleon (Toa Yukinari) a go-between who promises Eve another round with Aoi. However, in order to earn that game, she must start playing with the mafia’s best, including the serpent-like woman Vipere (Kaori Nazuka). Eve agrees, as any money she makes goes back to helping Lily’s sister Klein (Sayaka Kinoshita) and their three orphan immigrant kids. Fortunately, when Eve goes up to the tee, she’s got a rainbow of bullets to send her golf ball to its home.

70/100 (9th of August 2021)
I would like to note that Obey Me! is driven more than anything else by my thirst regardless that it’s all SFW (◠‿◠✿) (◠‿◠✿) (◠‿◠✿) I am not trying to tell realistic stories and I am not excepting criticism.
Obey me vampire AU 9.8.21 All the Obey Me! demons are vampires, MC is still human, Diavolo x MC, angst / hurt/comfort, Diavolo needs a hug. Possible surprise Iruma-kun crossover.
Obey me slave au 9.8.21 Demons are slaves to humans, Diavolo is a demon masquerading as a human and Lucifer is his slave. Mc will of course be discovering this fact.
Obey me Mafia AU 9.8.21 I say mafia I mean yakuza. Diavolo is the head of a powerful yakuza group, Diavolo x MC, Diavolo angst. Tattoos yum 🥰🥰🥰
The search 9.8.21 Iruma-kun/Obey Me! crossover, more Obey Me! rules than I usually use, much Diavolo angst, Sullivan has the same/similar powers to Barbatos(Obey Me!)

i'm very curious about your selfship :000 and i'm looking for something to watch, maybe,, a top 5 anime would be sweet ! hope it's not to much, i'll keep the birthday wishes to later 💗
Ohhhhh okay! Thank you for asking anon also tell me about your top 5 animes too!
Let me tell you my top 5 anime and then about my selfship then  (≧◡≦) For the top 5 I’M going to pick normal length anime’s (like i love one piece but it’s like 900 episodes and I feel like suggesting that would be cruel but if you’re up for the challenge to it xD)
Self ship stuff under the cut!
Also keep in mind my top 5 always changes but if you want to watch something new these will be fun!
Birthday event: Alphabet and Interactions
Top 5 Anime
1. Black Clover (Episode count 157 - ongoing)
Tumblr media
Okay if you want something action packed + fighting the system made up by asshole royals this is for you.
Basically to give you a summary in this world magic is everything, everyone can use it except for Asta. Asta and his brother Yuno want to become magic knights and travel to the capital and participate in the magick knight exame, Asta gets picked for the worst squad and Yuno the best one, their adventure starts from there.
Animation very good, story, in my humble opinion, good. So yeah go watch it before this too gets to like a 900 episodes xD
2. Toilet Bound Hanako-kun! (Episode Count 12 one season but there probably will be more)
Tumblr media
I just watched this and fell in love with it enough to start the manga because I can’t wait for season 2 to come out :’D The animation is very pretty and you just want to learn more about the characters, highly recommend! so here’s what 9anime’s summary about it:
“The famous "Seven Wonders" that every school seems to have are a staple of Japanese urban legends. One of the most well-known of these tales is that of Hanako-san: the ghost of a young girl who haunts the school's bathrooms. Kamome Academy has its own version of Hanako-san's legend. Rumors claim that if one successfully manages to summon Hanako-san, she will grant her summoner any wish. Lured by the gossip, many people have tried to call upon her, yet every attempt has failed. However, when Nene Yashiro, a girl hoping for romantic fortune, dares to summon Hanako-san, she discovers that the rumored "girl" is actually a boy! After a series of unfortunate events involving Nene's romantic desires, she is unwillingly entangled in the world of the supernatural, becoming Hanako-kun's assistant. Soon, she finds out about Hanako-kun's lesser-known duty: maintaining the fragile balance between mortals and apparitions.“
3. Haikyuu! (There’s four seasons but I don’t know how many episodes and I’m too lazy to count sorry :’D)
Tumblr media
I’m sure you’ve heard of Haikyuu, basically it’s a sports anime about volleyball. I was one of those skeptics saying that I wouldn’t enjoy sports anime but here we are.
The animation and learning about each individual characters story really gets you hooked so if you haven’t check this out yet you totally should!
4. Jujutsu Kaisen (Episode Count 12 - Ongoing)
Tumblr media
Ah yes the ever famous Jujutsu Kaisen, there’s a reason why everyone’s talking about it, it’s because it’s very very good. If you like your hero stuff with angst and interesting worldview philosophies I highly recommend! Here’s what 9anime says:
“Idly indulging in baseless paranormal activities with the Occult Club, high schooler Yuuji Itadori spends his days at either the clubroom or the hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this leisurely lifestyle soon takes a turn for the strange when he unknowingly encounters a cursed item. Triggering a chain of supernatural occurrences, Yuuji finds himself suddenly thrust into the world of Curses—dreadful beings formed from human malice and negativity—after swallowing the said item, revealed to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the "King of Curses." Yuuji experiences first-hand the threat these Curses pose to society as he discovers his own newfound powers. Introduced to the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, he begins to walk down a path from which he cannot return—the path of a Jujutsu sorcerer. “
I also, of course, have a jujutsu blog if anyone’s interested it’s @sassystarlightgojo !
5. Banana Fish (Episode count 24 - Complete)
Tumblr media
I’m not gonna say much about this other then I still think about it, also this has mature themes and again I won’t say much but it’s angst but it also has its cute moments! highly recommend! Also if you do start watching do not look up ANYTHING about it!
“Ash Lynx, was a runaway picked off the streets of New York City and raised by the infamous godfather of the mafia, Dino Golzine. Now 17 years old and the boss of his own gang, Ash gets his hands on a mysterious drug called "Banana Fish"—the same two words his older brother, Griffin, has muttered since his return from the Iraq War. However, his investigation is hindered when Dino sends his men to retrieve the drug from Ash at an underground bar he uses as a hideout. At the bar, Skip, Ash's friend, introduces him to Shunichi Ibe and his assistant, Eiji Okumura, who are Japanese photographers reporting on American street gangs.”
Honorable mentions: Fire Force (beautiful animation great story watch it), Given,  Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign, Ouran Highschool host club
Now on to my Selfship!
Okay I won’t keep this super long (I do want to post some selfship stuff but honestly I’m not sure anyone would want to read those xD) I ship myself in a poly relationship with both Dazai and Chuuya.
In canon world I also joined the port mafia pretty much at the same time as Dazai, we already had somewhat of a relationship but Dazai, as we all know, was a bit too intense back then but when Chuuya joined I realized that I like them both and slowly out relationship starts to bloom. Chuuya is quicky to realize he might have a bit of feelings for Dazai too and even if he never told him, in order to understand himself better he rolls with it.
But when Dazai decides he’s going to leave I try to stop him but then end up going with him, leaving Chuuya a letter before we go.
So that’s pretty much the gist of it xD I didn’t write much of the relationship dynamics because I just thought it would be too long of a post buuuuut if anyone is interested feel free to ask!

Mairimashita! Iruma-Kun reminds me so much of Katekyo Hitman Reborn and I love it. I need to write like a paper on why but basically they have similar plots and tropes that I am a sucker for.
Basically they’re similar because:
There is found family
The main character’s dilemma and personality and literally everything
Personalities of characters in the story (Asmodeus = Gokudera, Clara = Haru/Yamamoto, Iruma = Tsuna, etc etc)
Arcs (villain to friend arcs specifically)
There are also things different from them like:
Demons vs Mafia
Difference in characters (how they are connected to each other)
Style and jokes
Classroom focus vs non classroom focus
And the whole classroom thing makes me want to connect Iruma-Kun to Assassination Classroom too!
This is all I can think of now but sweet Jesus let me tell you about my new trifecta of favorite anime please.
I beg of you.
Be enticed.
I swear one day I will explain but fuck am I a fool for this anime now.

This could not be better. This is brilliant. The fucking juxtaposition of darkness surrounding Opera as he's warning Iruma not to trust demons(people) and the pure, kind white glow around Iruma as he asks if it's 'bad to be a demon'. Just... It's so good, everyone should read the mafia AU. Iruma-kun is just so, so good in everything.
