International Pokémon Care and Adoption Exhibition (IPCAE)

Event dates: August 28th-September 3rd. Location: Veilstone Convention Center, Veilstone City, Sinnoh. Run by: @floaroma-sanctuary Details: This event is aimed at Pokémon sanctuaries, rescues, daycares, adoption centers, shelters, etc. to come together and share knowledge and make connections as well as an exhibition of any Pokémon they may have available for adoption. It's also meant to educate the public as well and will have several different lectures, hopefully targeting different age groups.

The event is "officially" hosted by the Pokémon Care Collective, an international Pokémon care union that coordinates communication between different facilities and with authorities like the Rangers Union, and it standardizes care practices and education to make it accessible.

Needed: - General Attendees - Lecturers - Runners of Pokémon Care blogs!!!

Stakes: NO STAKES! It's supposed to be a fun, light-hearted event that hopefully opens up the floor for connecting with other blogs with similar concepts or adoption storylines.

No planning Discord, but you're welcome to contact the blog above if you have any questions or ideas to add! It's a looser format, so feel free to run wild. Just keep in mind it is focused on Pokémon care! It's a completely open event, so anyone can participate!

It's only day two, and I've already had to decline someone adoption over them clearly being only in it for getting a rare variant that's also shiny, not actually caring about the needs of the pokemon. A major red flag with people trying to adopt Unown is when they insist on calling them 'wall decals'.

It is so difficult to be at the IPCAE and know that I cannot adopt any of these Pokemon... I already have far too many, and would not be able to give a good home to any more, but it still takes self control. There are so many and they are all so wonderful :(

Long time no post! Hello! Do you guys remember me? My name's Reena! It's pronounced like Renae! I haven't posted here in so long. I have to show you guys the recording of the contest I did later.

But right now, I'm at the Pokecare Exhibition with Jazz.

I'm at the Pokebug care lecture. We're waiting for it to start! I was gonna go to the disabled one but I don't think Jazz is disabled. His tail is just really weird. Maybe I'll stop by the next one though. I'm kind of curious about it.

Are any of you guys here too? I saw some friends from school here earlier so we hung out! I think mom said she was going to teach but then she changed her mine and said, she's not sure what to really teach. ^^;

Rotomblr hello! How long has it been since I've posted again? Sorry about that, I've been taking a break to give Victory a lot of love and care and spoiling her. She's gotten used to her wheelchair! She of course has to take it off when she's sleeping.

At the moment she's sleeping beside my chair as we wait for the Care for Disabled Pokemon lecture. Honestly, I kind of didn't expect that to be a thing? I don't know why, I just haven't seen many other people here on Rotomblr who have disabled Pokemon.

There are more people showing up too so I'm kind of glad I'm not alone in all of this. I don't regret it though. Victory's amazing and cuddly and playful and happy and I love her to death! ^_^

P.s. by the C4 tastes horrible I mean it tastes worse than Thiamine which didn't know aas even possible lol

So yeah congrats, whoever made IPCA-escitalopram, on concocting the world most unbelievably revolting unswallowable pill in the world lol

I know I'm raving on about it but it's just a huge blow for me that the previous brand's pill I loved isn't funded anymore, cos it was like my most easily swallowable and small pill I get aside from the capsule ones.

And now I am condemned for the foreseeable future to have to chew that mess every single morning on top of the two Thiamine I had only just gotten desensitized to the taste of 😭

Please lemme know if you have struggled with these things like meds that are difficult to take and don't just say I'm lucky meds are even funded here bc i know that and that the US healthcare system is atrocious but I still feel like these are important issues when you consider that we (if we're lucky enough in the first place to have proper access to our meds) are having to take these meds every day for the rest of our lives. We shouldn't have to just "take what we get" when we deserve more (and allow me to get preemptively defensive here 😅: saying "other people have it worse" in the face of someone's trauma is ALWAYS a bad take so if you're considering making it all about the US problems to knock me while I'm down and diminish my struggles, just don't. cos the rest of the world is allowed to exist on the WORLD Wide Web and we have our own problems thank u 😊 but other than that please share your experiences, without belittling mine)
