//Floaroma Admin here! Thank you so much, kind anon! I've honestly been really unsure of returning to regular posting, and this has helped tremendously. I love Beau and the little world I've been making for him and the friends I've made along the way. I hope to see you around in the wilds of Pokémon IRL!

hello! any bug-types in here?
Hello, hello!
I apologize for the late response as my hiatus has lasted a little longer than I was planning (hoping) for. We do have some wonderful Bug-types waiting on their forever homes! We currently have a Frosmoth and a Scatterbug with adoption spotlights posted, but we do have more. I did received your other ask as well, and I have never heard of a Hug-type? All Pokémon are huggable if you try hard enough, in my opinion!

Hello! Would you happen to have any Pokemon in your shelter that might make a good guard Pokemon? I've been searching for a companion that can keep me safe while I am traveling
Hello, hello!
It really depends on your specific needs. Would this Pokémon be used for any formal battles? Are they specifically meant to be a guard/companion Pokémon? Is there a specific size or type of Pokémon you'd prefer?
You're welcome to shoot me a message, and I'd love to give you a hand with this!

Hello, hello!
As you all have probably noticed, my blog has not been active. The Sanctuary is temporarily closed for the holiday season. We don't do adoptions around this time of year in general due to the problems with gifting adoptions, but I really need to focus on my family right now and on the current expansion we are doing with the Sanctuary grounds.
Thank you, everyone, for the love and support you have shown Floaroma Sanctuary this year. We hope to have many new adventures with you in the new year!
Happy holidays!
Beaumont Rosalba
Hello!
This is Floaroma Admin! Floaroma Sanctuary is currently on an unexpected hiatus at least until after the new year. I have been too focused on irl things to think of my Pokemon IRL blog. I love the community and will hopefully return soon.
Thank you for your patience in this time. If you are currently waiting on a Pokemon, please consider them yours! Just shoot me a message, and I'll take them off my current adoption list. Thank you!

Adoption Spotlight!
Thunder Thursday is bringing I think an unintentional theme. Summertime always brings more people on the water, which, unfortunately, means more Water-types being brought in for one reason or another. Today's spotlight is an absolute dear! Leora the Chinchou!
Leora came to us as an injured, presumably abandoned Pokémon. Chinchou already do not have the greatest of vision, but her eyes were damaged by what we assume as a larger, more aggressive Pokémon. She is blind, but she retains light perception. She's otherwise very happy, healthy, and young.
Leora does not do well at all with battling, which is one reason we believe she was abandoned. She likes the lights flashing at contests, but that's about it. For the most part, she's pretty content being able to swim around and spend time with the people she likes.
Despite her blindness, we are not requiring experience with blindness for her future adopter. We do ask that she be kept as a companion Pokémon and spoiled rotten though! We also recommend attending some of our classes on caring for your disabled Pokémon.
Leora LOVES water, even for a Water-type. She has a favorite disco ball toy that flashes lights and plays music that will be adopted with her, and she loves moving it around in her tank and in the river that runs through the Sanctuary. Anything that flashes and plays music and can survive the water is her jam!
Leora is required to have free access to enough water for her to submerge herself and move around comfortably. She does alright on land, but she would need to be monitored for any signs of dehydration. Chinchou are naturally a deep sea Pokémon and are not as accustomed to dry land, even the captive bred ones.
If Leora is lighting up your heart, contact Floaroma Sanctuary at this blog or stop in anytime Monday-Friday, 8 am to 7 pm, or Saturday, noon to 5 pm.

Congratulations, @montymolefromunderground, on your new family member!!
Adoption Spotlight!
We’re changing gears this Saturday with our Steely Saturday! Our steely-nerved star is Chartreuse the Shieldon!
Chartreuse is an incredible little girl. She came to us as a surrender from a Pokémon lab. Their funding to research the fossil Pokémon was cut (research was entirely ethical, no worries! Just standard budget cuts), and many of the Pokémon had nowhere to go. Chartreuse is one of the last few with us from the lab, and she’s been such a patient Pokémon waiting for her forever home!
Chartreuse would do amazing in anything she does! Battling, contests, or just being your best friend. She’s very versatile and lives to please!
Chartreuse is very food driven! She LOVES poffins! Honestly, I haven’t found a food she DOESN’T like because she will eat anything. And I do mean ANYTHING. We’ve worked her away from eating non-food items, and she does very well with it. She may relapse a little when she is adopted, but we will go over the methods you can utilize to curb this behavior before her adoption.
While Chartreuse loves to play with both people and Pokémon, she’s largely very independent. She has a blanket that she adores that will be adopted with her. She also loves adventures and has been one of the Pokémon who has excelled at every adoption and socialization event I’ve brought her to.
Chartreuse, as a Steel-type, needs a special kind of brush called a “dry wash” brush. She has one that will also be adopted with her. It simply keeps her nice and clean without her getting her wet, which can cause discomfort. It also helps keep her naturally cool!
If you’d like to bring home this lovely little prehistoric lady home, feel free to reach out to this blog or stop on in anytime Monday-Friday, 8 am to 7 pm, or Saturday, noon to 5 pm.

Hello, I recently sent this question to @/newgrowthspaest and they pointed me in your direction. My inquiry has been copied below for simplicity:
'Hello, recent events have brought this to mind so, I wanted to broach the subject with you.
I have two service Pokémon from my childhood, currently 'soft retired' in a PC box as I am no longer in need of them both and they are a bonded pair. But they are quite long living Pokémon and require the mental stimulation of working 'Mons, not to mention, I'm quite certain they're unsatisfied with their retirement.
I was wondering if, as a service Pokémon trainer, you might be the person to ask about finding someone to rehome them?
They're a Passimian Physical Assistant Pokémon named Court, and an Oranguru Emotional Support and Medical Alert Pokémon by the name of Marshall. They're both around 50, so they should be able to work for another 30 odd years or so.
Sorry if this question is a bit difficult to address, and thank you for your time!'
Thank you in advance!
Hello, hello!
I am absolutely very experienced in rehoming service Pokémon. This is actually more common than you think. People are constantly changing, and it’s hard for service Pokémon to keep up with often growing or changing needs.
I have a few service Pokémon waiting for their new homes at my Sanctuary. If you were wanting to surrender them, I’d be happy to find them a new home, or I can put some feelers out if anyone is looking for service Pokémon with these skills and connect you to them.
I know how hard it can be to say good-bye, especially to Pokémon that can feel like extensions of yourself. I’d love to talk with you more about this and find out exactly what you’re wanting.

Congratulations @bowser-is-the-best on your brand new family member!!! May you have many happy years together!
Adoption Spotlight!
Thunder Thursday is here with a lovely young Pokémon! Thor the Pichu!
Thor was abandoned on our grounds, sick and emaciated. He has made a full recovery now, and he's as happy and healthy as any other Pichu his age. We believe he is very young and may have been within a few weeks of hatching when he was abandoned.
Thor has had some difficulties with femme-presenting people. We're not sure why, but he has been doing incredible with my mom. She has even been fostering him. We do request that he be around primarily masculine-presenting people for a little while as he settles and that this be continuously worked on in his new home. He does not have the same reservations with other Pokémon and actually prefers female Pokémon!
Thor has loved our mock battles and contests, but he's still very young and just prefers playing. He loves to play with other Pokémon and his person/people, and he constantly getting into things. He may need some time to grow up before he joins these things, but he may just be a companion Pokémon for the rest of his life. It all depends on how he grows and the enrichment and training his potential adopter gives him.
Thor honestly loves being out in the garden. He loves helping out in the dirt and plants. While flowers so far are his favorite, particularly roses, he LOVES Berries, vegetables, and fruits. Especially tomatoes!! The same is not said for Tamato Berries. Thor will have a static-reducing brush adopted with him as well as the tomato plant he personally planted in a pot. It's getting ready to have the first ripe tomatoes, and he's VERY excited for it.
If Thor lights a spark in you, contact Floaroma Sanctuary at this blog or stop in anytime from Monday-Friday, 8 am to 7 pm, or Saturday, noon to 5 pm.

Cannot agree more! We had a Houndoom named Kerberos (who has been adopted to a wonderful family!), and he was incredibly sweet and caring. He was incredibly gentle with everyone he met, but he had the typical protective streak. He was especially careful with young children & little Pokémon, and I even would have recommended him as a nanny-assistive Pokémon.
Species should be considered, but it truly matters the temperament and training of a Pokémon. A failure of a Pokémon is more often than not a failure on the trainer and the training (or lack of) the Pokémon has received.
Tumblr media
Houndooms are not usually the first thing that comes to mind when thinking 'bout working mons, but they can be just as good as Bolthunds!
They're not recommended for herding 'mons smaller than Wooloos 'cause of their high prey drive, but they can be great taking care of Girafarigs and other Psychic 'mons due to the type advantage and their size!

Maybe you should put some of that glass film on it? Like the kind that makes it all rainbow-y. That way they can differentiate where there is something in the way.
My rapidash keeps trying to walk through this glass door. It's been over a month.

Hello, hello!
Leora is an absolute sweetheart! She loves to cuddle and play with her people. She also absolutely LOVES vegetables. The greener and leafier, the better. She has these little salted seaweed snacks that are her absolute favorite, cannot get enough of them! She will do anything to get them. I make them but will give you the recipe if you choose to adopt her. Her favorite kind of music is anything upbeat, especially dancing sort of music. She doesn’t really have a favorite genre of music or favorite instrument. Her favorite volume is LOUD though! Would you like me to send over our pre-adoption questions and set up a time for you to meet her?

Hello, hello! I’ll send over our pre-adoption questions. I have a friend visiting Alola tomorrow, if that is soon enough for you? He’ll be there for a few days. Regardless, we’ll make this meeting work!!
Same anon as the one who inquired about Thor, we are not currently in Sinnoh but have someone willing to pick them up if this works out. Please do not be scared by the blog we use so the details you require can be sent.
I absolutely do not judge people on the content of their blog, only on what information they give me for my questions and how the Pokémon interacts with them upon meeting. I can also have a proxy meet you wherever you are if that makes it any easier for you!

Hello, hello! Sorry about the radio silence, all! I've been getting inundated with surrenders, and I haven't had time to process them all yet. Several surrenders from parents who decided their Pokémon were too much work with the school year. Each one has really hurt my heart, and I've been doing my best to give each new resident love and affection. Some ranger surrenders, including one breeding mill and one underground fighting ring.
I am stretched thin, but I'm trying to force myself to be okay with only focusing on what's most important right now. Which is all of the Pokémon in my care and their needs.
We WILL be hosting Read to an Adoptable Pokémon event both Friday and Saturday, 8 am to 5 pm. This will take precedence over our Friday Poffin Classes. It's a great way to meet our adoptable Pokémon and also have some fun reading/snuggling time! Happy Book Month!!
