i’m not good with tips or writing tbh, like one day I just started this blog and started writing and now I’m here I guess 😭 (funfact i acc ran an IT fanfiction blog back when I was like 11 this is not my proudest moment I shouldn’t have even been on this app)

i’m a big fan of english literature and always have been, im taking higher english next year for s5 and I’ve learned quite a bit tbh that I think can help!

1. my teacher always tells me to not repeat the same words over and over again. like for example :

“character watches s/o walk into the room with their bright smile and bright eyes”

instead, you could say :

“character watches s/o walk into the room with their beaming smile and bright eyes”

personally in my opinion repetition is good for both writing and poetry but using more adapted words can really elevate your writing. but that’s just my opinion on what it does for me and i try my best not to repeat the same words consistently. if you struggle to think of more advanced words you can use google because that’s quite literally what i do but you can also use a thesaurus, they’re quite helpful i used to use them in primary school for writing :)

2. another tip i can think of is using techniques of writing, this also goes for poetry too (as im currently having to study for my english exam on poetry). there’s a few techniques you can use in writing fanfiction such as

- metaphors (an implied comparison eg. “my mum has a heart of gold” - meaning my mum is a kind hearted woman. she is)

- similes (similar to a metaphor but it’s a direct comparison, typically used in the forms of “like a” or “as” eg. “she was as cold as ice” - meaning that her personality and demeanour is rather cold and stern.)

- personification (similar to a metaphor also but this connects human characteristics such as personalities or emotions to a non living thing eg. “the trees danced in the wind” - trees cant dance like a human can, but the way they bristle in the wind can make it seem like they’re dancing)

i know some of these people would’ve already heard about but i thought I’d add in the examples and explanations just to clarify it for people who are confused and want to learn about it

this isn’t a MUST you have to include in your writing or anything but these are just tips on ways you can elevate your writing and personification is specifically good for describing scenery so the reader can feel more engaged within the story :). these are only a few of the techniques i use so if you wish to hear about more please do feel free to shoot me an ask.

3. one last tip that comes from me in my experience of writing is actually educating yourself by reading some writings you’re interested in. one thing I’ve learned about writing is that you can gain experience by becoming influenced by other people’s writings on any part of the internet. not like plagiarism of course but i mean you can become inspired by the way they write and adapt your own writing style.

i’ve learned so much from my beautiful and amazing moots and they’re all just so talented, im forever grateful and proud for each and one of them :)

To my beloved monbebes🤍

I'm not really sure how to start... Just taking out this paper and writing "To." makes me feel excited and overwhelmed, but I'll fill this letter with everything I wanted to share with you. First of all, Salute!, Recruit number 52 Lee. Joo. Heon. I know how you all had been doing from reading all the monbebes' internet letters and hand written letters. Whenever I have a little bit of time, I would take the letters and read them. They give me and keeps giving me so much courage and strength.

There are some monbebes who send me pictures of the sky, but in fact, this place is only surrounded of mountains and sky. As I mentioned in the fan concert, I continue to look up at the sky and think of monbebes. Also, it makes me so happy to imagine the mountains as monbebes and this military ground as a stage. It reminds me of the concert.. ^^ Oh! and when I read monbebes letters there's a common theme that makes me a bit disappointed~? The usual sentence is "I'm not worried since Joohoen will do great there" ahahahha.. I do agree I will do great but I'd also appreciate some worries too :) Of course I know you guys do worry, I just wanted to be whiny..

As you all know, I currently am 2nd company's company Commander Trainee. I think my powerful vocals somewhat played a role, but the kind of vocals skills they require here is quite different from those who singers use.However, after the tests including drills etc.. I was chosen for the role.As it requires a tremendous amount of responsibility, I actively collaborate with dorm peers and others trainees to do my best.

I think about monbebes daily, especially when I want to share my day with someone and, at the beginning, the day felt so long. But now it's slowly getting better, especially during meal time (I think this division serves the best meals). There has been moments where I forgot about monbebes as I was too busy eating my food. Sorry hehehe

I enjoy looking out of the window on my designated seat after I take a shower every night. When I see cloud on pinkish sky and smell the warm scent of grass, I once again feel alive in a different way compared to my past busy days. Of course my biggest healing time is reading monbebes letters!! I'm doing really well and will successfully complete the rest of my trainee days🤍 As a Republic of Korea's soldier and monbebes' pride, I will so my best to fulfill my military duty!! Love you my people, monbebes🤍

@fairyhaos -- hydrangea. theres something so royal in them. and in you too, like yena u radiate this amazing energy i canr explain it lmao?? but they have diff meanings based on colot, like blue - understanding, white - purity + grace, purple - royalty etc etc and u have it all. a real angel fr!! they r just so soft and amazing <3

@wheeboo -- lavender. it may be bc of your purple theme idk LMAO but i really love lavender :D it has amazing smell, color oml i love their color and not to mention their multi-properties. and rania, u r so diverse when it comes eg to writing. i cant help but stare (read) in awe each time i pass them (stumble on my dash)

@malarign -- hyacinth. i found a lot of diverse meanings of this flower but lets focus on those happy ones lmao. tbh joo u r pure ball of sunshine, happiness (n a liiiittle bit of chaos) and one of the meanings ive found r happiness and joy :D which is literally u ?! besides, i really like them (even tho the smell makes my head hurt like crazy but welp love requires commitments ... i also like the petals like idk they r so funky n goofy like u hehehe

@mirxzii -- poppy. um idk why those r flowers that grow here ,, like a lot so i just have a nice memory of them and they are unique, i think. like u <3 and also while writing this i just realised they uhhh sometimes are used to make illegal substantions aha.... ha.... so um yeah lowkey suits too bc u are crazy (affectionate)

We‘ve done it! We’ve finally reached the end of this lil ask game and also the end of 2023! 🥳 Thank you so much for joining in on this, I truly appreciate it so much 🫶! I wish you a wonderful start into the new year and that all your hopes and dreams for 2024 will come true! ✨💞

But, since the year isn’t quite over yet, I thought this might be a nice time to reminisce a little bit. Therefore, the final question of the Smoshblr December Asks Game:

What are your favourite smosh-related memories of 2023? 💖

My favorite Smosh-related memory? Well, idk, I read a really great fanfic, but it was a bit out there, a bit too sentimental and unrealistic... it goes like this:

Friendship always wins

The sun scorched the suburbs of Sacramento. The neighborhood looked like if a stock photo had a heroine problem. Bored out of their minds, two sixth graders got grouped together for a school project.

"Here, let me draw some turds on the trash pile."

"I'll add flies."

"Hehehe, yeah that looks better."

The two kids, Ian and Anthony, connected through their shared humor, which ranged from Beavis and Butthead to Home Alone to Southpark, and to whatever was on the internet in that godforsaken time pre-2005.

The oldest one, Anthony, came from a broken home. He had to grow up fast and take care of his siblings and mom. The only times he could really be a kid and fuck around, was with his best friend Ian. Feeling nurtured by Ian's mom and dad, and constantly laughing at Ian's jokes, his happiness was there, with Ian. He could get through working hard, as long as he had Ian to go back to and have fun.

Their nerdy friend group were all into internet humor and Anthony came up with the idea of having a forum for them all to shitpost on and share their creations and collaborate.

But then he got sick. Really sick. He couldn't go to school, had to stay home for six months. He felt so isolated, not seeing his friends, most of all Ian. But Ian showed up at his house with a get well soon card. It was signed by everyone from his class. He could cry, he was so happy with this symbol of friendship. It kept him going the rest of the months. He put his time and energy into coding and learning how to do graphic design.

Smosh was born and it took off. First the website was just for them; Ian, Anthony, and their friends. It had stuff like articles, memes and videos. But soon the whole school was frequenting the site. News traveled outside the school even, and before they knew it, Smosh was an internet phenomenon. After they graduated, Ian and Anthony chose to keep the website going. Just for fun. And they got some money from merch they would distribute themselves.

One day, they saw that one of their videos was pirated and hosted on some new platform: YouTube. That gave them an idea: why not host all their videos there? It was free after all. Being at the right place at the right time, with the right kind of humor and the right kind of raw talent, Smosh was propelled to be one of the biggest YouTube channels there were. They even became the biggest one. However, with success also comes vultures, ready to take everything from you...

A company introduced themselves to Ian and Anthony and promised them the world: give Smosh to us, and you will only have to worry about making videos. We will take care of everything else. It sounded too good to be true. And sadly, it was. For even though at first, Ian and Anthony had more fun than ever, coming up with bigger and funnier videos than ever, they soon found out they were not in control anymore.

Anthony, who had always fought to stay in control of things; his family, his health, his whole life... it was very hard to see his creation being contorted and mutilated into something he didn't want it to be. And he grew to hate it. That hate spread everywhere, even towards his best friend, who kept trying to tell him "man, let's take the losses and be happy we have this job, we could have still been in Sacramento with nowhere to go."

But Anthony had had it.

"Ian, come with me, let's start a new channel, just the two of us."

"Anthony... I can't. It doesn't make any sense business wise. I know it's not ideal, but please, Anthony, stay?"

After years and years of putting his all into the company, Anthony couldn't do it anymore. He quit Smosh, and a shockwave went through the entire fandom that had built around it.

Smosh was still going. But you see, money and power got involved, and Ian and Anthony had lost sight of each other... they tried to hold on, you could see it clear as day, but they were ripped apart by the greed of the soulless company, which is a tautology, if you think about it.

Both guys were heartbroken. Still sneaking glances at each other, but not able to speak. Too much had happened between them.

And then the company went bankrupt and Smosh was in mortal danger. Ian, who had fought to keep the brand alive ever since Anthony left, fought as hard as he could to find someone to buy it, who wouldn't just sell it off for parts like an old car. Luckily, a YouTuber duo who knew Smosh from afar, stepped in and saved the day. Thanks to them and to Ian, Smosh survived. But was it really still Smosh? What was Smosh if it wasn't Ian and Anthony?

In the meantime, Anthony had rebooted his personal YouTube channel and through trial and error found success. Nothing like Smosh, of course, but impressive nonetheless.

Apart from each other, Ian and Anthony persevered. But they were still heartbroken and in need of something. That something was each other of course. And finally, years later, they met again. And they were both surprised. They had both healed and grown enough to see each other and talk freely, like adults. And they were surprised to see how well they still clicked.

It was like they were the same friends they had been all those years ago, but eve better. The slogan they had come up with all those years, finally rang true again, more than it had ever done. Friendship always wins.

And as they reconnected more and more, one faithful day, one of them said..

"what if we bought Smosh?"

And at that moment, their family was no longer broken, they were reunited and Anthony suddenly had a lot more 'kids' to take care of. But he was so happy, so happy to be with Ian again. He was finally fulfilled.

Honestly as a virgin I am more than just a little confused what defines a top and a bottom in cis sapphic relationships cause like... if you're the top what kind of sexual touch do you get before you're classified as the bottom? O.o

okay so. i am by no means an Expert lol, i can speak from my own experience only. i am not super well versed in certain terminology, but i can offer my understanding of it and how i see it myself. that being said!!! ->

on tumblr dot com (and the internet in general, but here especially) you will find a lot of the top/bottom, dom/sub terminology. now, the dom/sub thing goes more into the bdsm direction, but people sometimes use top/bottom, dom/sub thing interchangeably, even though they are not the same thing. to return to the top/bottom thing -> it's actually terminology that comes from cis gay men to mean like, who is the one penetrating and who is being penetrated, which is a dynamic in which that term actually makes any sort of real sense haha. other queer people have adopted the term (even straight people have), twisting its meaning and applying it how they feel works for their own sexual habits (not a bad thing per se, but it's good to know where the term originated). nowadays i think people use it mostly to mean like, who is more dominant, who is more submissive (venturing into that dom/sub territory, but not in an intense way like if you went the super kinky bdsm route), and what that even means is honestly up to interpretation of anyone engaging in any sort of sexual act. but yeah, if we are talking about cis sapphic relationships the term can't be used in its original meaning, obviously. for one, sex between two women doesn't have to involve penetration at all, so who is the one being penetrated hardly matters, plus why would being penetrated even mean you are more submissive?? when you start to really deconstruct this shit it sorta gives you a headache lol. so what *does* it mean in sapphic sex, then? well, the unhelpful answer is that it kinda means what you want it to mean. how i personally use it is like, if my relationship has some sort of sexual power dynamic (in terms of like, who is the one initiating, taking charge or guiding where the sexual encounter sorta goes, if there is any sort of dom/sub dynamic we want to engage in for fun or pleasure), or i sometimes use the term in the context of like, i am the one providing pleasure for the other person and maybe i am not letting the other person reciprocate. HOWEVER!!!!!!! big disclaimer now!!!!

this top/bottom shit is stuff you hear from people on tumblr dot com lol (and a lot of them are like chronically online, into some super niche sexual shit, or super inexperienced, not that there's something necessarily wrong with that, but they lack the perspective real life offers you haha, so if you use their advice and worldview irl you probs won't get very far). in most people's lives, in most healthy relationships, there is not like this top/bottom, dom/sub dynamic going on at all times, or at all. there doesn't have to be a top and a bottom in a sexual relationship.

i thought the Drama(TM) in my inbox about whether i am dominant or submissive was very entertaining, and if asked i will definitely describe myself as more dominant, but honestly that's not a way i think about my sexuality. i don't like.... go around the world thinking hehe yes i am a Top(TM) and don't like pursue women being like hehehe i am a top looking for a bottom i Must Dominate someone or i will Combust. i just like. enjoy kinky sex sometimes and that sometimes includes some sort of top/bottom dynamic, and if it comes to that you know which one i am lol. i have ALSO spent a lot of my younger years fucking around in my slutty phase with the mindset of like, there *has* to be a power dynamic in sex and that has led me to like engage in certain things i guess. however, BIG DISCLAIMER, that was really not a great period of my life -> i am a person who has a complicated relationship to sex, and if was often times very unhealthy.

so yeah, sapphic sex definitely does not need to include any sort of top/bottom dynamics. if you want, you can experiment with that, see what you're comfortable with and think about what being a top or a bottom would even mean to you personally. also a lot of women just use top/bottom to mean who is doing the pleasuring and who is being pleasured, so maybe that's something you vibe with, maybe not. irl, things just sort of happen. you just like, find a girl you like, you want to make her feel good. when i like a woman, i like lose my mind if she kisses my hand or smth. the last thing on my mind is like 'how will i Dominate Her' lol. you just sorta go with the flow, see what feels good for her, show her what feels good for you, you share something together, moments of intimacy, passion and connection. you don't think about who is a top or who is a bottom. if that is something you are both into, you can explore some kinkier stuff. maybe she's like oh i like to be pinned down and fucked and you're like GREAT would love to do that for ya, that would turn me on and i'd enjoy it, ya know. so you venture into that top/bottom dynamic and shit. but it's not something that *has* to happen, that's only if you're into that. do it bc (or if!) it's fun and bc you enjoy it and bc you like to see your partner enjoy herself, it's not a must.

okay i think i said most things i wanted to say. sorry this is so long, i just felt the need to offer advice no one has offered me when i was a virgin haha. don't stress, when you find someone you like and trust enough to have sex with, you can experiment with things you are interested in and see how you vibe. maybe top/bottom dynamic will not apply to your sexual experience!

Tarots with Utena, an amateuristic analysis of RGU through Tarot imagery (and fanart)

Part 1: The Lovers

Disclaimer: I highly recommend you read this after you've watched the series and while being in mood for searching all the little symbols that it contains. There are so many amazing analysis pieces floating around the internet, but all these (including mine) contain heavy heavy spoilers. Also, unrelated but i'm a bit self concious about giving you my train of thought heheh.

Some kind of prologue

I really love RGU, always coming back to it no mattter what i'm currently fixating on, to find more and more meanings, symbols, theories on this complex piece. Fanart is processing and I am processing hard right now, combining the tarots too (another favorite way of understanding the world+myself).

This analysis is based on other pieces I read online, hours of talks with fellow fans and on the intentions I set while choosing the specific tarot cards and depicting them. I used the Rider Waite deck, and I can always link some articles/blogs etc. I'm based on. The discourse online is huge! Original text was in greek but in the end here's the translation, for accessibility reasons. >.<

The Lovers

Utena and Anthy are the perfect Lovers. Often, they are compared to Gemini, two sides of the same coin, complementary to each other. The Lovers is the card of Gemini.

Talking about the imagery of the card itself, on the first level we have our main characters: Utena (Adam), Anthy (Eve) and the Prince (Angel). The three of them are all linked.

Canonically, Utena is taller than Anthy, though here they seem about the same height. Both of them are wearing their dueling outfits, at the time that Utena is about to fight for Anthy's hand once again (even though she doesn't really understand that her driving force is love, she's oblivious after all, a pink brick etc etc).

Utena, even though seemingly ready to fight, looks a bit lost in her feelings, looking for the receiver of her love. Her eyes on Anthy, sword in hand loosely, the white rose to signify her pure heart and nobility. She's not sad, just a bit disoriented. What to do when suddenly you are to fill the shoes of a Prince, a (Clueless) Hero? How all these could make easily sense through her poor girlhood? Her only way through, is coming closer to her supposed lover. A wind blow makes the rose petals travel to Anthy.

On the other hand, Anthy, despite being in the archetypical position of receiving and giving back love and care, has her eyes somewhere else. She remains a mirror for Utena's love, (actually a mirror for each character's feelings, but more on that on other cards probably). Right now we don't know a lot about her. After all, the Lovers is No6 in the tarot, chronologically it is very early for us to know, we can only feel and observe for now. She knows so much more and in this card she's daring to give us a glimpse. while looking at that higher power, the Angel. They are similar in some ways.

The Angel over their head, is no other than the Prince. Dios gives the kiss of power to Utena, almost everytime she's duelling for her love. The power to revolutionize the world. In the card, he's dressed exactly as the Angel depicted in the Rider Waite, not only keeping similar color scheme, but holding his whole role of the entity that protects, supports and blesses. The enigma of his identity stays strong in that way, the light against darkness.

The light of the Αngel, helps us give a better look at the surroundings of our card: Eden is truly real, we see it especially in the first episodes of the series, the calming colours of Ohtori Academy, the green grass, the blue skies without clouds, the classical buildings of the Academy. Blissful! We see in the distance the Academy itself, the bridge, the buildings the phallic tower. Our lovers are standing far away from this institution, they don't need the phallic imagery, everything is real but not here yet, (does this feel menacing?)

In Rider Waite, we see that behind Eve we have the tree with the snake, and behind Adam a tree with flame-like fruits, a symbol of his passion and longing for her. In the RGU universe, the rose is the symbol of love. Before the duels, the transformation sequence of Anthy features a rose tree in different stages of growth, symbolizing the way our character'S feelings grow for the other one (for silly Utena!). We have the tree growing through Anthy's school uniform, then having rosebuds which bloom into beautiful roses, a whole garden of them. We realise that Anthy was fully aware of her feelings since early in the series, unlike someone else <.<

Back to our card, I really wanted to play with the sense of time here, in order to shed some light to Anthy's concerns about all this situation, trying to resolve the enigma of her character. So I decided to show her emotional progression going slower than Utena's, resulting the paradox of having an Anthy of the past, having her first feels for Utena, unable yet to take her eyes away from the holy figure. At the same time Utena of the future, with a fully fledged love and desire, is reaching for her loved one, to bring her to the present (again the rose petals).

The card's space is limited and our characters are trapped in it, tragically unaware of their figurine-like self, even our so-called angel. Their feelings though, are limitless.

Guys.... I don't know who else needs to hear this. Or who else is also suffering like I am right now... But can we STOP with the reliance on computers!!!! Just..... *Sighs* bad language and lots of rage under the cut...

I'm not talking about technology, would be hypocritical, I mean keyboard and mouse, full package material computers. Why am I beyond fucking pissed right now? Well I'll tell you.

Yesterday I mentioned how I discovered Yu-Gi-Oh Tag Force was a thing. Today, I discovered that all 6 can be downloaded onto a PSP emulator. And that said emulator is easily installed through the app store. So far so great right? Oh no. What's the first thing that pops up when you click "where do I get games?" It takes you to your phone/tablets browser and essentially goes. "If you're on Android, download the file on your computer and transfer it to your device."

Hehehe.... Heres a crazy thought? If all it needs is a .iso file? Which it does. And those files are easily downloaded through the same browser you just opened up.... Which they are.... And, I can't stress this enough, if you're going to make an emulator available on Android devices.... WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU TELL ME TO USE MY COMPUTER!!!

Seriously! Don't you think that if I had the ability to open these files on a computer that I would... Oh I don't know.... USE THE EMULATOR ON THE FUCKING COMPUTER!!! There's one available, I saw the link right above the description of what to do on Android.

"But blog owner?" I hear you ask, "didn't you say you could download the files on your phone anyway?" Indeed I did. "Well then what's the problem?"

Very good question my friends. You see... There wouldn't be a problem. Files downloaded fine, emulator runs them fine (well unless it's a USA based file instead of a Europe one... Not sure what the issue with that was and didn't really have time to look into it before I got mad at the other problem.) But here's the thing... Yu-Gi-Oh Tag Force? Suffers from this little issue I label "English speakers are either cheap. Or stupid."

You see. Tag Force has these wonderful little cuts everytime your opponent sets a card or draws or gets attacked. Lovely little immersion bits. However... When the review I watched said "They even got the Japanese voice actors, too bad they couldn't do the same for English." I assumed, like most probably would, that they DIDN'T get the GX voice actors to record those lines.... And well... They didn't.... They didn't get ANYONE to record those lines! So here I am, speeding through the duels because all I'm hearing is clicks and explosion like sound effects while reading, as if I turned off the voice volume somehow.

But okay, that's fine, no biggie. I'll just use the Japanese voices... Oh wait. I can't. Because, instead of letting the players listen to SOMETHING while reading the translations, they just coded the voice volume at zero... And here... Here's where I got even more pissed. Because there are fixes for this online, of course there is it's the internet. Even ones that are extra helpful and include the program you need to do the patching yourself so I'll just tap on that and.... Oh yeah. It's a .exe file. Android can't run executable files.

Putting aside WHY we need an OS to rub a single type of file, when most phones now are capable of running games that required multiple discs 10 years ago, not a single person. Not a one. Ever considered how you'd do this on an Android device. Even putting the word android into the search engine didn't help! Which wouldnt be so bad... If, as I JUST said, it weren't for the fact IT EXISTS ON THE FUCKING APP STORE!

But again... That'd be fine... Quick search to see if there's anything on the app store thatd run these files and... Oh would you look at that? I already have it installed. So, I decide to make things as easy for me as possible. Download all the .iso for all the games. Download all the patches to turn the voices on, as well as a translation for the game that wasn't released outside Japan, and I spend the better part of an hour or two waiting for the files to download. Extracting the files. Patching the files. Deleting the non patched files and the downloaded zip folders so it's not a complete mess. And then I open the first game again. It opens fine. Runs like before. Overwrite the old save data, enter my name again and.... The character models are now black squares.

At that point I deleted everything. Said fuck it all and permanently erased it, emptied the bin, everything. Now... Should I have only done it one game at a time? Probably. Should I have taken it slow and saw if it worked? Yes. But... And I can't stress this enough... When theres an app that exists (that you can buy an upgrade for btw, didnt even bother checking what that includes) and is known as the ONLY emulator that works for PSP games. And all these files need is to be downloaded... And ran... I don't think I'm at fault for assuming it would work...

Even if I'm not on A FUCKING COMPUTER THAT I SHOULDNT FUCKING NEED FOR SOMETHING THIS FUCKING SIMPLE!!!!

So.. About That Hickey..

I think I’m still processing all of this and reminding myself I’m not dreaming 🤣 I seriously only got 3 hours of sleep last night and when I woke up the first thing I did was check twitter to be sure this “drunk bridal-style spinning hickey neck biting proudly showing off” moment actually happened!!

.. I hate the way my brain works though. I was so happy that it took me forever to fall asleep, spent all day on cloud 9 despite being tired, .. and then my old nemesis, anxiety, stepped in. Well kind of. TBH if all of the MOTS ON:E Jikook moments we got happened with Jimin/anyone else or Jungkook/anyone else.. I would seriously be sitting here saying “well fuck.. I believe they WERE a couple, but looking at all of this it seems they are no longer together.” So really, this just confirmed what I already knew about Jimin and Jungkook: they’re a couple. My anxiety is over.. why? Why show us this? If they can cover all of JK’s tattoos, a hickey/bite mark/whatever we’re calling it should be super easy to hide. Sure it was just rehearsal.. but it was rehearsal with cameras rolling with every intention of releasing what was being filmed as future content. It could have (and some might argue should have) been covered.

Guys... I’m confused. And concerned. ❗❗❗ TW for drama, hate, homophobia, the usual anti issues

That “official” explanation.. again.. why? I’m assuming Jimin and Jungkook were asked and allowed to explain because of the chance of it being spotted and armys freaking out, so BH (or possibly even Jikook) thought to get ahead of the speculation by just being up front about it all.. but THAT explanation? I suppose it works for covering up the army panic of “Jungkook has a girlfriend?! *insert fangirl sobbing*” .. but that’s literally all it does (and only barely if you go looking at some of the anti’s reactions to it all). Really, all it did was draw even more attention and speculation. I mean.. this is, essentially, what we were told: Jimin and Jungkook were together the night before drinking, apparently without the other members as they didn’t seem to know all of this already (and they would have if they had been there), somehow hanging out and having drinks turns into Jungkook picking Jimin up bridal style (random but some of the k-army reactions on twitter were translating through google into “princess style” and I just think that’s so cute 🥰), spinning ensues, Jimin gets dizzy and wants Jungkook to put him down, ... and so he proceeds to do the only logical thing that any of us would have done in that situation... biting Jungkook’s neck? And hard enough to leave a mark the next day?? And instead of being peeved about it (like most of us would have been if our friend bit the crap out of us), Jungkook looks happy?? proud even???

And they arrived together the next day and continue to be cute and playful?

I just.. I mean.. come on. First of all.. that’s a hickey. A bite leaves teeth marks. And one would assume a wild, drunken “let me down” chomp would be something that happens suddenly and ends very quickly. I know I for sure would drop someone on their ass if they decided to take a bite out of my neck (assuming I was even picking up and spinning around with one of my friends like that to begin with.. but let’s not even get into why that was going on at this point) .. but the way this bruised? Yeah. There were no teeth involved (at least not hard enough to leave indentations) and this took more than a couple of seconds of mouth-to-neck contact to still be that visible the next day. So.. in short. Jungkook arrives with a hickey, JK decides to not cover it up (or he would have shown up with it hidden and we see him get out of the car that morning with it clearly visible), BH staff sees it and also decides to not have it covered up and actually have it explained... and the explanation is “oh yeah Jimin just bit him, you know.. no big deal hehehe isn’t that funny?” 🤯 WHAT?! Yeah.. that’s totally normal, platonic behavior between adults...

I’m not saying Jimin and Jungkook are lying btw. I have no doubt it played out more or less exactly as they said with the exception of what they’re calling the end result. Jimin and Jungkook are fine.. I mean, what were they supposed to say? They’re not going to show up saying Jimin was sucking on Jungkook’s neck the night before. We’ll probably never know why Jungkook decided to not cover it up before arriving, but it’s his body and he gets to decide. It’s BH that has me so puzzled. Other than antis and people who refuse to see what’s literally right in front of their faces when it comes to Jikook.. who were BH expecting to believe the bite thing? Just among staff and the other members, it’s a laughable but safe “oh of course *wink wink*” explanation that allows everyone to carry on like normal. But to the public who don’t know them personally, don’t know their usual behavior and patterns, and who don’t have something like a non-disclosure agreement or professional courtesy preventing them from openly speculating.. it doesn’t fly. Pretty much everyone teen and up knows what a hickey looks like (either from having gotten/given one or at least seeing one on someone else in person or online). It’s immediately obvious what it is. And even if there was some uncertainty.. that it’s on his neck (instead of other easily accessible and less sensitive/stimulating locations) and just so happens to be right near his mole as it Jimin were aiming for it? Just another “too many coincidences” thing when it comes to Jikook.

Even antis on twitter couldn’t deny what it was and, so, had to resort to the “well I do that with my sibling and my uncle’s pet raccoon all the time it’s just family things” excuse and/or the “yeah well someone ELSE in the group (or a girlfriend) gave him that and they’re just covering by saying it was Jimin.” Oh. And the same old “it’s just fan service” excuse (as if Jungkook would let someone bruise his neck for the purposes of fanservice which, again, BTS has never done or needed to do. Forever pissed off that so many in this fandom act like Jungkook is a puppet doing whatever the “evil company” tells him to do regardless of his personal feelings or boundaries. The man has tattoos covering nearly every inch of his arm despite that being looked down on in Korea. At this point he can do whatever the fuck he wants). So.. why?? Seriously, why? This all could have easily been avoided with simple makeup.

When they’re doing official content they’re all literally followed around by a flurry of staff fixing hair, dabbing sweat, touching up makeup, etc. Even though it was rehearsal, staff were everywhere in the footage that’s made its way online. If they were worried that it would be seen in the background and “taken the wrong way,” just have the staff occasionally touch up the makeup. “Easy peasy lemon squeezy.” But instead of doing the obvious, BH decides to: not cover it, draw attention to it by asking about it and letting them continue to talk about it, go out of their way to get a camera on it, and then include it in the final cut of the content they sent out?

BTS is literally the most popular group in the world right now and BH has become a behemoth of a company that runs like a well-oiled machine. They’re not stupid; this was not a mistake. For some reason they wanted us to see this and, one would assume based on the lack of a more believable explanation, they wanted us to come to the conclusion that we all have: Jimin gave Jungkook a hickey. You know they have teams dedicated to monitoring reactions to content on social media. You know they know the dialog surrounding Rosebowl, Black Swan MMA, the Memories 2020 “almost kiss,” etc. etc. All of this got “jikook,” “hickey” and variations of their names trending for HOURS (in multiple countries and worldwide).

Out of curiosity, I decided to check the trends at the time of writing this. As of 3 AM CST (about 24 hours AFTER the clips started showing up online), there was still a hashtag trending related to all of this: #FREEJUNGKOOK.. and the tweets being directed toward BH are.. disturbing to say the least:

While I agree that the boys should trend more often based on their talents and music.. what’s going on right now is a homophobic 💩 show accusing BH of “scripting” interactions (rather than.. you know.. Jungkook interacting with whoever he wants however he wants.. the usual “mindless puppet JK” narrative), trying to coordinate the mass sending of angry emails, trying to get people to stop buying paid content, accusing BH of taking advantage of the members.. I mean it goes on and on. And BH know what’s going on right now. They’re seeing the reactions... the good and the extremely negative. And still they let this out. And this is all not even CONSIDERING the mountain of other moments that made the cut on MOTS ON:E.

(side note, the above pic just oozes happiness and it’s so cute I love it!! 😭)

So.. even though I’ve said it dozens of times already... WHY? W H Y? I’m an anxious person by nature and not very trusting. I believe Jimin and Jungkook and I don’t think they’ve been lying and pretending for “fanservice” all of these years. I respect them both too much as individuals and artists to believe that they would stoop to such tactics just to generate a little more “interest” and revenue. I’m suspicious of BH. BTS doesn’t need fanservice to get attention; literally all of 2020 and 2021 so far has proven that beyond a doubt. Even if they suddenly made the decision to do fs.. why not go with the most popular ship (taekook) or at least one that isn’t so hotly debated on social media (remove Jimin, Jungkook and Tae from the equation and you still have four members to “play” with who have much less potential to have fs devolve into a toxic crap show all over the internet). Showing us this will do nothing to help BTS as a group or Jimin and Jungkook at this point. In fact.. all it can do is hurt. Hurt BH, hurt the group, and hurt the individual members, heck.. even potentially hurt other BH/HYBE groups. I’ve already seen people on twitter saying they’re “done” spending money on anything BH or BTS puts out because they’re “sick of jikook in their faces and just two of the seven hogging all of the screen time.” Whether or not that “spending freeze” actually materializes into anything noticeable remains to be seen of course.. but the threat is there and always has been. What is the motive? And why now? As much as my “hopeless romantic” heart would like to believe they’re preparing us for Jikook to be “out” .. I seriously don’t think that is ever going to happen. Certainly not now at the height of the group’s fame, with them being given Presidential honors and ambassador status, and with military service still looming over them all. And let’s not forget... Korea is NOT a safe place for a queer couple. Letting us see and know what they did through what was released has the potential to put Jimin and Jungkook (and the other members by proxy) in danger. Sure.. BTS has never been hardline rule followers and have been breaking molds and shattering norms from the start, so “officially” having an openly gay couple in the group wouldn’t be impossible.. just... highly highly improbable. Especially right now... and I’m concerned. I don’t want to sound like the creeps I posted a screenshot of above throwing blame at the company. The boys chose to renew their contracts with the for a reason so we have to trust their judgement as a group... but still, I’m worried and I’m questioning what the purpose was here.

Today I had two new additions to my small collection of Alice in Wonderland editions 🥺

I mostly collect Italian translations of it, but I have a few English editions, and an illustrated Japanese one.

Since I have no one at hand to gush over them to, here I am claiming space on ur dashboards hehehe.

These are the ones I have except for the two illustrated editions I added today (need to build up the tension 😌).

In the future I want to get more annotated editions :) I love reading what people read into this book.

On the top left, there's a Penguin Books edition. The annotations aren't really extensive, but it has the text of Alice's Adventures Under Ground, which was the more or less first version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Then, there is the most expensive of this collection—the 150th anniversary edition.

It's, in fact, The Annotated Alice (the third, "definitive" version), with the annotation work of the late Martin Gardner (here expanded by Burstein), possibly the most known annotated edition of Alice in Wonderland.

It's a gorgeous edition, with colour illustrations in addition to the classic Tenniel ones.

The next one is actually the Italian edition of the definitive version (but not the expanded one) of The Annotated Alice, translated by Masolino d'Amico (whose translation is used in several editions).

This edition was published around the time Tim Burton's movie came out, which probably explains the odd choice of cover lol. More recent reprints, in fact, have a completely different, more sober cover.

Then there's a Japanese edition of the illustrated edition by Lisbeth Zwerger. It was gifted to me while I was studying in Japan by someone who had no idea I'm obsessed with the book 😂

In the bottom row, there are several Italian editions, each by a different translator, including an audiobook: Francesca Benini, Andrea Càsoli, Milli Graffi, Masolino d'Amico (the same one as The Annotated Alice), and finally the oldest (and copyright-free) one, in form of audiobook, by Teodorico Pietrocola Rossetti, who was a friend of Lewis Carroll.

In particular, the edition with Benini's translation is illustrated by Andrea Rauch, with colour illustrations created by deforming and recreating Tenniel's illustrations:

Milli Graffi's version is my favourite: it's a compact but very insightful annotated edition; the translations of the poems flow really well in Italian (I rank my favourite translations based on how much I like their version of 'You are old, father William', in chapter 5 😂), and it's also the first edition of Alice in Wonderland I ever read, when I was 13 (after someone recommended to me to read an annotated edition on a 'Nabari no ou'-focused internet forum, of all places).

It's also the only one that wasn't either bought nor gifted to me (the gifts being that Japanese edition and the 150th anniversary one).

WIP ask game

I have a VERY MESSY, general outline for this, but it could change at any time. mostly just going where the gaang takes me!

the story is set 7 years post-war. yes, this is done so that toph can say "what up I'm toph, 19, and I never fuckin learned how to read." that's the only reason.

Sokka, Teo, and the Mechanist have invented phones, electricity, the Internet, search engines, and social media apps in those seven years. (if you like keeping your brain intact, you should definitely not think about the logicality of this story.) Iroh often helped generate electricity until the factories could sustain themselves and Toph was the one to create gadgets suitable for people who are blind.

on the seventh anniversary of the war's end, they unveil the phones to the public. the devices are available to everyone and there's no social inequity because this is my fic and what I say goes

they have Tumblr, but Toph insisted that they name it Rumblr. there is also Kohbook (haha get it like Facebook) that is used exclusively by the White Lotus, Kanna, Aunt Wu, and, for some reason, Bosco. cue ALL the facebook memes. we have them typing in capslock randomly, using all the wrong emojis at the worst time, shit-talking Pakku publicly because they forgot how to open HawkMessenger, praising their children/grandchildren/students to the skies and then ending with a really embarrassing anecdote...it's a fun time

idk a good name for the ATLA Twitter app (if you guys have ideas, help) BUT do you guys know that one account that pretended to be other people? I think the handle was jaboukie? they pretended to be other people by changing their username and profile picture, and then tweeted embarrassing things?? hopefully that rings a bell,, anyway - toph is going to do that. she likes the chaos.

uhh okay as for the actual plot, we start with an oblivious zuko and deep in denial katara. we also have suki and sokka who have to be separated for now, and there's a lot they're realizing they don't know about each other, so they have a bumpy road ahead. and then there's aang and toph who aren't even thinking of each other that way, but they will. they will

zuko is actually dating mai at the start of the story. that goes as well as can be expected from a zk story. as their relationship deteriorates, suki and toph are busy pulling katara out of denial, which culminates in the last snippet from this link

aang and toph development fhjkdsahf i still have to figure this out. never written them before so this will be a challenge

suki and sokka talk about how war has affected them. maybe they decide to take a break? look i really cannot write angst-less stories

iroh decides, after a few months of seeing zuko be mopey and face 107 assassination attempts, that he needs a wife. he arranges a whole partner selection thing without zuko's knowledge, and zuko, for all his Fire Lordy powers, doesn't know how to get out of this or refuse his uncle anything

katara is not included in the pool of possible wives, because everyone knows putting her name in a hat like that would piss her off. interestingly enough, she's pissed off anyway! it's anyone's guess why...

Well, as you know, I haven’t seen many spy movies (or like...movies), but I have done some googling and fallen down a very strange internet rabbit hole.

Here is what I have learned.

Apparently, James Bond has an Aston Martin that is both bulletproof and shoots laser beams. Are all our boy’s cars already bulletproof? Certainly. That’s one of the first things he modified. But do they shoot laser beams?! Look, I think he’s working on it. He’s maybe not there yet, but if anyone can figure it out, he’s the one.

It seems that lots of spies in movies have cars that self-destruct—and yes, I am quite sure Saeyoung has done this to at least one of his cars. He says he did it for safety reasons (what kind of safety requires getting blown up?!), but actually he just thought it was cool. SE Saeran really wants to test this feature—you know, for science—but even if there’s no one in the car, Saeyoung doesn’t actually want any of his babies to explode.

I have also discovered that there are spy movies where cars are controlled from afar with your phone. This also sounds like something Saeyoung would do. He’s great at building apps (obviously), and like...why play with a remote controlled toy car when you can play with a remote controlled actual BMW?

Apparently there are invisible cars and flying cars and underwater cars, too. This, I don’t think even our beloved spaceboy could figure out (though he sure would like to).

Another popular spy car mod is a tracking devise, apparently—which made me giggle, cause Saeyoung apparently owns enough tracking devices to put them on all of your outfits. So there’s no question he’s got ‘em in his cars.

Another James Bond thing is—apparently—rotating license plates that are valid in all countries. (It seems that this is a really famous thing. I don’t know. I’m really clueless when it comes to Bond movies.) First of all, how cool is that? Second of all, Saeyoung would definitely do something like this. I don’t think he used all of his cars for agency work—some of them were just, like, his pets. But there were certainly one or two that he used for work (the one he takes you to Magenta in included), and they’ve definitely got gadgets like this.

Later, though? Once he has met you, and he doesn’t have to use his cars to stay alive anymore?

He’ll put anything on ‘em that you want. A snack dispenser? He’s on it! A music system that only responds to the sound of your voice? Easy. A GPS that sings the directions to the tune of popular songs? Listen. If you want it, Saeyoung will make sure you have it. He’s never had anyone to dote on before—now, he’ll do anything just to see you smile.
