hii! if ur requests are open, can i request a cove holden x gn reader that doesn’t express themselves that well? like to everybody they seem very.. emotionless, when in reality they have a lot of thoughts and definitely feel emotions, they just have difficulties expressing them.

COVE WITH AN INEXPRESSIVE READER

gn!reader | You're Real and so so valid. i get like this a bit actually

after knowing you for years, he's one of the best people to guess what you're feeling accurately. he's had time to figure out emotional cues

^ seriously knows all the ins and outs—the difference between you replying with "that's fine" or "yes please," how you go quiet when you're thinking about what to say or something has upset you, etc

it's a learning curve for step 1 cove—he probably asks outright about it the first time he takes notice, you know how it is o(-( so it takes time but he does his best

^ i can imagine him nonchalantly pointing something out about how he knows you're happy because of so-and-so, and your families being pleasantly surprised :') he takes pride in knowing you well

cove can be,, very visibly emotional himself,, so sometimes your families talk about how you guys are so different, yet seem to understand each other better than anyone else

and like, let's be honest, cove can struggle with a similar thing!! sometimes he can't find the words to express his feelings and he knows how frustrating it can be, as a personal barrier and as something people comment on.

if you ever feel guilty for not being expressive, he frowns and reminds you that you don't have to be; he wants you to be comfortable and yourself, whatever that means for you !!

but if you want to be more expressive and it helps, he'll suggest different things for you to build on—like starting the conversation you know? asking how you feel about the situation, if something's made you upset, how long you've been looking forward to do something, etc etc

^ he takes the time to look up different ways to help and his search history is a bit wonky for a while (like that step 3 dlc moment o)-( )

never takes it personally if you don't react super strong to a gift or compliment. he does it because he wants to make you happy and to let you know he loves you !! he'd actually be more upset if you tried to force a reaction

if something upsetting has happened, it's not uncommon for people to underestimate the impact on you. cove finds the time to talk to you alone to see how you're doing and will do whatever you'd like to feel better (like the step 3 moment where you're split up at the market sort of deal)

the second anyone wants to rudely comments on your "emotionless" attitude cove is there. he won't make a huge scene, especially if you say it's fine, but he will remember and at least tell them that they shouldn't just assume things

cove is happy the times you're expressive because he knows that means you trust and feel comfortable around him !! he'll also take note of what exactly makes you super happy so he can do it in the future

when it's something where your opinion is super important he always takes the extra time to talk with you about it. you can show up late or take a few minutes to think things through—your feelings are the most important thing at the end of the day

all in all he doesn't mind as long as you don't! you're his world and endearing in your own ways. cove would never make you change just to please other people and he'll always remind you of that

・❥・so when illumi just pulls up with "hisoka and i are dating" in the most unemotional tone known to man, silva's brain doesn't really process it right off. he sits there for like ten seconds straight in silence with an intimidatingly blank stare. imagine the little "loading..." thing over his head

・❥・and she really wasn't with the gay thing anyway. she would have lots of perfectly eligible murdery women meet illumi in hopes that they would get together and bear a Zoldyck child. but here he is. kikyo just cannot understand it.

・❥・although, it's a tiny bit less about the gay stuff than it is about the fact that it's hisoka. hisoka. him of all people. why? his aura is repulsive, he runs around in crop tops, heels, waist trainers, makeup, and pink hair. illumi had already been poisoned, kikyo could tell, when he started with the crop tops as well. but it had been worse than she had thought. now here they were, the disgusting clown and her perfect illumi saying they were dating.

・❥・it was enough to make her burst into tears- and cry she did. the second illumi finished his sentence, the waterworks began. now it was too late.

・❥・and when illumi joined the phantom troupe "per hisoka's request," and when he spoke of an "engagement ring" and "prenup" despite there being other less fruity terms he could have used to describe the contract- kalluto was almost 100 percent sure.

・❥・ the kicker, though, was when kalluto found out that they had contracted each other to kill... each other. they both shared the same twisted idea of "romance" and "friendship," and this basically set kalluto's suspicions in stone.

・❥・so kalluto half-heartedly played dumb when Illumi announced their official status as a couple- but long story short, he wasn't surprised. he isn't really fond of hisoka, but he sees no point in messing with the relationship, so he doesn't care much overall.

Personality Headcanons:

-Uh oh some kind of mental health issue. Some people think Kokichi may have some kind of secret anxiety, Nagito has severe depression & trauma. So, Nagichi might have both of those.

-Kokichi’s true self is unknown, so some parts of Nagichi’s personality may be hidden from the public.

-Nagichi will act unhinged (NAGITO KOKICHI SO YEAH)

-Maybe he also has a secret soft spot inside, but that wouldn’t cancel out his villian tendencies (since pregame Kokichi might’ve been like that & Nagito has something like that sometimes where he’s lonely)

Dating headcanons:

-Get to that soft spot to seduce them. I thought of that bc I think Nagito might secretly be a bit subby so just let Nagichi rest his head on ur chest & let him cry it out bc of that mental health thingy also mentioned

I think if I put aside like, the poltical and hateful aspect of it, part of the reason people react so strongly and are so frightened of me when I’m in public is because of horror. Like. Their immediete association with a faceless human shaped figure draped in all black is more like

like straight up im pretty sure if you asked people on campus they would have a “ghost story” of their experience seeing a terrifying ghost but in reality it was just me like, getting some mail or working at night. its interesting how peoples brains in my experience jump to “holy fuck a ghost” and start screaming as being the most logical interpretation of seeing me instead of “hey maybe its a muslim woman”.

Anyways this is all to say if I saw a shadow demon or grim reaper i would probably be psyched and say “Assalam alaikum” and then go about my day.

ik “blorbo from my shows” is a meme, but the heart of it (tagging a post with a character/fandom thing) has been an issue since for so long. I remember seeing people tag shit about religious discrimination with like voltron characters, seeing people use real life tragedies as prompts for fandom things, tagging posts about activism or struggles as a minority by bringing up your favourite fandom character. in that same wheelhouse there’s been people who write OTP prompts who come up with shit like “imagine character A sees someones hijab ripped off and--” or “imagine character A (a PoC) is pulled over by police and character B--”. like. can we just acknowledge how massively fucked up it all is? how someone’s post about activism or their experience with racism will get tagged with “omg this is JUST like [fictional character]”? how people will see someone’s traumatic experience being assulted because of their religion and turn it into some fun fandom thing? can we step back and realize this is fucked up and not normal behavior?

i started shipping in 2017 after watching season two! i didn't, like... actively ship-ship anything, but i did think they were super cute. i clocked how special and distinct their relationship was from their other connections with the party, especially and specifically in mike's case, and i thought there was something there. not exactly, like... explicitly romantic just yet, but "something" as in there's potential between these two characters for something big. mike was Exhibiting Behaviors in my eyes, but i felt like he wasn't mature enough yet to realize exactly what makes their relationship so special to him. additionally, i knew will was gay, but i didn't think that he had feelings for mike yet lmao (edit: i saw him as in the beginning stages of a crush / not yet at mike’s level). if you've been following me for some time then you already know this, but you can imagine the fucking whiplash i got once season three came out lmaooooo. twas brutal.

hm... this is tough. i really like the rain fight, because that and the shed scene are the true basis for byler i think. shed scene because mike confirms his relationship with will is the best thing he's ever done and the memories he tells will show that he views him as a hero that has saved them all. rain fight because i felt that was when will "realized" his feelings were unrequited and that's why he's pulled away from mike so much, and mike realized how badly he'd fucked up and it makes him go back (as much as he can) to how he was with will before and made him realize that their friendship was just as important to will, too. mike learns that will doesn't want to lose him in s3 and will learns that mike doesn't want to lose him (again) in s4 either. it's validation earned in the most painful way lmao. i also like the rink-o-mania fight, because it fascinates me how:

mike felt that will not talking to him sabotaged his day, even though his girlfriend literally just got harassed by everyone in the rink. and he's hurt because he feels like if will had just picked up the phone and talked to him then this never would've happened. bc will always tells him things! will never lies to him! and he's been trying to be better after the rain fight but in his eyes at that point it was like will gave up and now everything is shit because they're not talking anymore.

mike didn't back down from, hesitate, or flinch at the romantic connotation of will's "and us?" after he says el is his girlfriend. repeating "we're friends! we're friends." with such emphasis is so telling, too. who are you trying to convince? why did your mind go there? why are you not... idk, taken aback at all whatsoever? (and is that why you couldn't hug him and have been watching him the whole time?) these are perfectly normal and straight things to do with your boy bestie who you know doesn't like girls, who you can't touch anymore without your breath catching, and who you've been calling nonstop for six months in 80s small town indiana despite him never reaching out first. very normal, heterosexual, and platonic behavior especially when paired with the fact that you haven't ever told your girlfriend that you love her lol not even in ur letters or with valentines day cards.

mike wrote a "book of letters" to el and he says they're romantic and thus not for friends, but he only ever signed them with "from, mike" which led el to believe he doesn't love her romantically anymore. so he goes from not being able to be romantic with el anymore to then having romantically charged conversations and tension with will that entire season.. lol.

mike tells will "that's just not true" when will says he doesn't care about anything he has to say and doesn't reveal that he tried calling him all the time and even complained to dustin about the busy tone. why? why not tell him? and why not send him a letter if he never picked up? is it because then he'd find that he can say "love, mike" in his letters to will but not el's?

and i thought it was interesting how in the car he looks at will but not el, his girlfriend who again just got harassed in front of everyone and needs support lol.... and then he makes a passive aggressive comment about what she did at dinner. like, ok, mike. way to make ur feelings super clear today.

like... yeah, their tender scenes are great, but their fight scenes (and how they make up after them) are so revealing it's insane. it's also very easy to show your love when all is well, but it's so hard to show it and more impactful to witness as a viewer when it comes out in fight scenes even when they're both upset, withholding things, and hurt. mike is only ever vulnerable with will, even and perhaps especially when they fight. he does not do this with anyone else, including his own girlfriend. he treats will better every single time in every single fucking scenario lmao. so they definitely take the cake for me, because the proof is in the pudding and all that. rain fight + rink-o-mania fight solo every other byler scene 100% in my eyes.

my favorite part of byler tumblr is thankfully having found people who are very kind, funny, and intelligent and who share that with us all on these e-streets. it's always a treat to read different analyses and i love people who point out things that have been hidden in plain sight. i also LOVE the memes n shit posts! my dash consistently makes me laugh multiple times a day lol. and it's really cool to see people who are just as passionate as i can be hehe. :^)

This is VERY self insert but enjoy!

Thank you @johnsrevelation for helping me and being an editor. Im more of a drawer than writer, lol.

I sit nervously in the chair as he does his usual set up with black latex gloves,the packaged needle,piercing tongs and the bar.

He gives me mouthwash to swish around, along with a cup to spit into.

“Say ‘ah’ “ he smiles, sticking out my tongue he marks it gently with an ink pen.

He gets the tongs ready, lining up the needle. “On three, we will breath in and out, got it?” I look up at him, making eye contact nodding.

His breath catches, as he tries to focus on his job,”One... two... three,” he breaths in with me and lets it go as he sticks the needle through.

I whimper at the sharp pain, tears rolling down my cheeks as i squeeze my eyes tightly shut,”good job, little one...” he whispers to me as he finishes putting in the bar.

“All done. Take a look,” he hands me a small mirror after cleaning his space.

I wipe my eyes and look at my tongue, smiling i thank him and pay; later on after i make an appointment with Sukuna, Toji asks to “check on the piercing.”

Part 6! Of rereading Lore Olympus. Ep 51-60

On these next few parts i really just kept ranting oops. Also I just keep getting busier and forgetting to read more, but I haven't caught up with what I've read yet and that's the only thing keeping me going. Does anyone read these? Last part:
