My dogs my beloved dogs!! The first line of beastial spirit vine soldiers from my LoK AU. Created by Baatar when during experimentation, he discovered the spirit energy after being condensed causes the vines to react strangely to machinery and processed material. Turning the inorganic to organic.

These soldiers are comprised of spirit vines that have mutated in reaction to the condensed activated spirit energy and adhered themselves to the suits. Similar to "mimics" in a way, they can conceal their mouths fully so they're indistinguishable from human soldiers, though very astute earthbenders may notice they neither breathe nor have a heartbeat.

the whole Miles being an anomaly bc he was bitten by a spider from another universe got me thinking... Miles from 1610 was bitten by the 42 spider... and yet he is fine? you’re telling me he got alternate universe spider venom shot into his veins and that in itself is fine?? It did not fuck him up even a little bit? he is stable?? should he not be glitching on the principle of having alternate dimension spider gunk running in his veins???

That machine that sent things back to their correct universes by reading their dna read Miles 1610 dna and saw the 42 spider dna in him... how can those two things co-exist when beings from different universes glitch when in an universe that is not their own??? shouldn’t that have potentially out right killed him??

another day DOWN! and oh boy this one took something out of me dkfgdg. its a pretty heavy scene i wrote, but i'm past it and now we're almost done with king's chapter--i'll finish it off tomorrow and its time for the collector again! much as i love king i adore writing the collector, they've got such a fun voice and it comes really easily to me.

i'd compare them to kris, actually. the both of them are characters that see the world in very specific ways, and have certain ways of phrasing their thoughts, so that it's really fun for me to write from their eyes. it would be hard if i couldnt slip so easily into their voices!

my favorite part of what i wrote today:

King’s used Dust before. It is magic: every time he draws a glyph and presses it into the world, it calls on the ambient magic, those patterns that drift through the world, around and around and around again, life in the same way the growing of plants is life, the skittering of animals. There’s not so much of that here. It’s all the rigid walls The Collector has put up, Dust kept in boxes. But not King. King has Dust, and he can see it, can reach out his paw and watch himself through himself, the sprawl of thoughts wanting something to latch onto. Once, he must’ve had The Owl House: had Eda and Firefly, Luz and Mari, and everyone else. Once he had his dad, as the very land itself, and the river of thoughts, endless through the sky. Now he has none of that. Now he only has himself. “Okay.” King breathes out. “Focus. The Collector just sort of—grabs. Surely I can do that too, right? I mean, I’m a Titan. People came from Titans.” The last time a sigil broke Hunter and Flapjack nearly died. The last time there was palistrom wood, and connections: Luz and Mari reaching out. This time there’s just him. All the palistrom trees have been killed, destroyed, or are otherwise in another realm, bits of plant matter stuck to his sister and whatever Hunter-Flapjack is to her. Titan, King reminds himself, and he begins.

Out of all the leftover characters and remnants from Barbara’s time as Spidey, Black Cat is the only one she doesn’t mind. Granted, he’s still a pain in the ass. But, he also doesn’t try to kill her. Maim? Maybe, if she gets on his bad side. Use as a cat scratcher? Thinkin bout my isat au now, I don't have much of an idea on it cuz tbf I barely changed anything other than well-- Odile is in pain now. Just thinking more bout scenarios that'd differ during the uhh... new loop+?????? How'd I even go about calling that new set of loops now?

Just that the most visible change would be on Odile who's now waaay more tired looking and a lil more slower than usual. So in a way her battle style becomes a lil bit like a glass cannon in that she hits HARD but takes time for her to get a hit in now. And as the loops go on, she becomes weaker on the defense department so she truly be a glass cannon. Odile also doesn't "level up" in this au too since she had already maxed her experience out, it's just that she's also slowly dying so to be fair-- Her exp is fine but her hp isn't and her lvl is being treated like a timer of her slowly approaching doom. So even if her levels lower, it won't really affect her experience and the spells she had already unlocked. To the Universe, she's still as experienced as a lvl 99 person, it's just that now she's becoming as fragile as someone lower leveled.

She retains her more powerful spells but using those spells would backfire on her and result in a recoil that ALSO hurts her, not as much as she damages the enemies, but a significant of her hp gets taken away still.
