You groaned as you continued walking. What would have been a beautiful day for anyone else felt awful for you, nearly 2 weeks overdue. The sun was shining brightly- which was making you hot and sweaty. There was a breeze- which wasn't strong enough to cool you down. The birds were singing- just more noise to piss you off.

"Come on, honey. Keep going, almost back home," Jaehyun smiled at you while his hands gripped your forearm.

You glared at him, fury in your gaze, "you better not be lying to me like the last lap around the block Jung Jaehyun."

Being nearly 2 weeks overdue was a major pain in the- everywhere. You back ached, you couldn't sleep, you felt every movement of the human inside you, you were hot, cranky, tired, swollen everywhere, and sore. You had spent hours bouncing on a yoga ball, eaten spicy food, chugged various teas, ate viral salads, and here you were, going on your- you lost count- walk since your due date. One foot remained on the curb of the sidewalk while the other stepped on the road for uneven steps to "really open your pelvis." Jaehyun was very supportive, maybe even a little too supportive, in helping you during this tough period. It was him that encouraged all this excessive movement! Lovely!

As much as you grumbled about it now, he truly had been such an angel your whole pregnancy. He had painted the nursery 4 times when you couldn't decide on a shade only to end up choosing the first color he had painted! He never complained about waking up to get you your fast food cravings in the middle of the night and even tried your weird combinations.

Finally your familiar front door came into view and you left Jaehyun's hold in favor of making your way back to your favorite spot on the couch. You sighed in relief as you settled into the cushions of the couch, the air conditioning quickly cooling you off.

"More raspberry leaf tea, honey? A date or some pineapple?" Jaehyun asked.

You sighed tiredly, your eyes falling shut. "Can I just get some peace and quiet please?" You asked quietly.

"Do you want a snack for your quiet time?"

You felt yourself getting overwhelmed, hot tears filling your eyes. You breathed deeply, trying to get yourself to calm down, but all you felt was your body temperature rise all over again as your feelings rose. Your breath trembled as you repeated, "Can I please just get some peace and quiet?"

Jaehyun scrambled over to you in a panic, "Honey! What's wrong?!"

You felt your shoulders shake as you cried harder. "I feel terrible! This baby was supposed to be out like 2 weeks ago. I feel like a hippo, I can't do anything by myself. I'm tired of raspberry tea and salads and dates and pineapple. And you always want me to be active and I hate it! It takes a lot of work for me move the way I used to with my center of gravity thrown off and an extra 30 pounds to move. I always feel the baby moving and even when I want to be alone, I'm not! I can't ever have any peace!" You ranted while hot tears streamed down your cheeks, "And every time we go to the doctor she always mentions that this kid has gotten you big ass head- do you have any idea how much damage a head the size of yours will do to my body?!"

Jaehyun looked at you in pure shock. His eyes were wide and lips pursed. "I-I-I don't know what to say." He didn't dare mention that the doctor had mentioned the high likelihood of a c-section.

"Because it's not happening to you! You don't get it and you want me to do everything the way I used to but I can't! And I really, really feel like if you try to touch me in any way for the next 3 days I will hire someone to kick you in the balls since I can't get my legs that high," you add while exhaling shakily, using the backs of your hands to wipe away at your tears.

Jaehyun cleared his throat with a decisive nod, "I'm gonna go shower. I'm closing the windows and turning down the air for you. Then I'm going to draw you a bath with your favorite bubbles. Can I get you anything else before I give you your peace and quiet?"

"I want an iced coffee, please."

Jaehyun opened his mouth to argue- you were supposed to be limiting your caffeine! Then he remembered the rant from a minute ago and decided not to. He disappeared into the kitchen, whipping up your coffee and setting it beside you along with the TV remote.

"Honey?" Jaehyun started almost nervously, "I love you."

You sipped your coffee happily, "I love you too!"

Jaehyun wasn't sure he'd get used to the mood swings that came with you being pregnant, but luckily they wouldn't last that much longer since you went into labor just 5 hours later. This of course brought a whole new wave of you cursing him and screams- but at least at the end of it all he got to welcome your beautiful baby girl.

Want to be a part of an Indi animated show??

yep, that's right! I'm working with some friends on an indi animated show inspired by all those who came before! The concept has been building for around a year now and we've decided to start looking for some more artists and writers!

The show is called ZOMBIECORE!

ZOMBIECORE is a horror mystery show about a zombie bunny in a city of cannibal demons! Follow her as she searches for her killer through the 5 districts of Ghastown!

this role could also evolve into you helping out with backgrounds, storyboards, or animations when we get further along!

Writers will be:

- planning the episodes - writing the scripts

Learning that T.S Eliot most likely had a romantic relationship with John Verdenal is literally insane. It gives so much more meaning to his evangelical poetry. Like, reading The Journey of The Magi from a queer perspective?? Sublime. This man was so fruity he went to live in a flat with 4 men because he was trying to escape his first wife. With this wife, he also made a vow of celibacy WHEN they were married???!!! That is literally insane. Also, have u seen the dedication he left for Verdenal in his poetry collection Prufrock and Other Observations, after Verdenal died at Gallipoli and Eliot was depressed?? Bro fr said

Which translates to:

"Now can you understand the quality of love that warms me towards you, so that I forget our vanity, and treat the shadows like the solid thing".

It is also said that the Wasteland can be interpreted as:

At some previous time, the speaker has fallen completely (perhaps the right word is 'irretrievably') in love.

The object of this love was a young man who soon afterward met his death, it would seem by drowning. (Which is how Eliot thought that Verdenal drowned???)

Enough time has now elapsed since his death for the speaker to have realized that the focus for affection that he once provided is irreplaceable.

The monologue which, in effect, the poem presents is a meditation upon this deprivation, upon the speaker's stunned and horrified reactions to it, and on the picture which, as seen through its all but insupportable bleakness, the world presents.

And this :"Poetry is not a turning loose of expression, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality"?????

Like omfg? Using Poetry as a method to escape the shame and "immorality" of queer love and feelings. Escaping your own mind and personality because you cannot live with the feelings that your God does not allow you to have??

But I think what gets me the most is how any time he got queer accusations he would burn his letters between Verndal and him as well as any other evidence of him being in a queer romance??

Anyway moral of the story is that T.S Eliot's poetry embodies queer yearning and the wish for normalcy in a world that condemns individuality.

Putting this behind a read more for the SGB peeps

So there's this post here with tags saying that either we're purists or don't realize it, and that some of the cast has died + they're prepubescent teens what do you except??

I went to their blog hoping for an explanation and turns out they also said that they think the work "sexualization" is now a buzzword here and should be taken away....

*inhales* oh boy. If this is a response to people reacting to the fics out there about the kids well, buddy, congrats! That's the worst way anyone has put it!

They're all 14-15 as of right now, so they're not prepubescent my dude, and can drive (a bit), but even then, even then it's still weird to write a fic about what could potentially happen in a tango between minors. I personally have not come across anything but @girlscoutbrownies @b3achysurfur @planetarymesss @astronautica-ss @@itstivan have talked about how it's just not okay.

I am personally fine with sex in media but if it's between two minors I am out, that is not something that needs to be in there. Consenting adults are alright, certain themes of abuse can be added (if they are handled properly), and you can read/watch it all you want, I don't care. Just..... yeah no.

Overlooked Gabriel & Annalise Moment - TBSATDH Spoilers

A scene I don't really see people talk about in regards to Annalise and Gabriel's relationship in The Bastard Son and The Devil Himself is the one in Ep. 8 when the boys reunite with her. Gabriel gets to her first, she looks to him first, and she seeks comfort from him first.

Gabriel and Annalise's bond tends to be overlooked and downplayed a bit within the fandom space, and I can understand why. Their bond is probably the most subtle of the three and also the only one that hasn't included any kissing. It’s also the least developed and it's closer to a deep platonic or queerplatonic dynamic.

But in this moment they both look at each other so intensely. The screenshots I took can't really capture it, but Annalise was practically clawing at Gabriel for physical comfort in that scene. And that makes sense to me, given the dynamic we've seen between the three before.

Annalise comforts Nathan:

Of course, there has also been times when all three of them drew comfort from each other:

And Gabriel did comfort Nathan in this scene, though it was more akin to “snapping Nathan out of his guilt and trauma response to the situation,” since there wasn’t really time for comfort.

But the most common dynamic we’ve seen, and when looking at their one-on-one interactions, Annalise comforts Nathan, but rarely vice versa. So it makes sense that she looked to Gabriel for comfort first, then turned to Nathan. 

I really feel like that Episode 5 scene, when Gabriel and Annalise held hands and gave each other comfort during the Ceremony, is when their dynamic started to shift and change a bit. In the sense of getting more intimate and intense, though not necessarily romantic or sexual. 

If the series wanted to pursue that route in a (hopeful) second season, I wouldn’t necessarily object to it. Granted it is handled well, especially because I can see how it could potentially tie into the implied trauma Gabriel experienced from Mercury (she had no qualms with kissing Nathan when she was possessing his gran’s body, and her words and actions to and with Gabriel imply possible sexual trauma and abuse, in the below image she says, “So hard to say no to such perfection” while looking at him and touching him in a very sexualized way). 

The set up that Season 1 left off with seems to heavily imply that Jessica and Mercury will be the big bad duo of a potential Season 2, which would work perfectly with the hanging plotline of the boy Gabriel promised he would come back for at Mercury’s. And all of that would tie in nicely with a deeper exploration of Gabriel, his sexuality, his past and traumas, and his bonds with both Nathan and Annalise.

As someone who is aroace though, I would also be perfectly fine with Gabriel and Annalise’s relationship continuing to deepen but still staying in this space of deeply platonic and/or queerplatonic, since I feel we could always do with more representation like that, especially for poly ships.

Anyway, wrapping all of this up: That Ep. 8 scene speaks volumes about Annalise and Gabriel’s bond and I love it! It shows how they’ve grown a lot closer to each other than a lot of the fandom thinks they have, and possibly even more than either of them had fully realized in-series until that moment.

Can I ask some advice. I was pro choice for years but recently became pro life but now I’m struggling with the realization that all my pro choice friends have really hateful attitudes towards babies and even disabled people that I didn’t notice when I was pro choice. I want to say something but doing so would admit that I changed my mind and I’m afraid they won’t want to be friends with me; they don’t have nice thoughts on prolifers and I don’t want them dismissing me as a brainwashed prude

Hello, thank you so much for your ask! Also, in case nobody else has told you, welcome to being pro life! It is extremely brave of you to make that change when everyone around you has a different view point. As far as advice for talking to them, it is definitely really tough, and I don’t have all of the answers.

My number one piece of advice is to come at it with love and remind them to do the same. A lot of times people who feel very strongly about something feel attacked when they are confronted about it, and it’s important to state out loud that even if you disagree with them, you still love them.

As someone who has been in similar situations regarding different beliefs, if you do feel like you need to speak up about it, you don’t necessarily have to start a debate doing it. A lot of times I’ll say something like “Hey, that’s a human person you’re talking about there” or “That’s not cool, how would you feel if someone said that about you,” which tends to get them to drop the topic.

As far as having a conversation about it, let them come to you and be genuine about it. Explain your points using science-- don’t use religion to convince them if they aren’t religious. Remind them (and remember) that both sides are usually coming at this out of a desire to help women, so we can agree on a lot of concrete solutions that aren’t abortion, such as crisis pregnancy centers and better care for moms. You could also point out that in a lot of ways, abortion is extremely misogynistic and does much more to hurt women-- for example, it’s much cheaper to pay for an abortion than it is to pay for the support the mother will need, so many in society would rather do that then provide women with what they need. 

Another thing to remember is that a lot of pro choice woman have had abortions, and in today’s society, people tend to judge their self worth based off of the actions they have done. So if they have done something “bad” they consider themselves “bad” and they can’t fix that. It means that a lot of those women are going to be more resistant to pro life arguments because they don’t want to be bad, and because if they admit that the unborn are humans, then it means they killed their baby.

This is really tough to deal with, and there is no good answer to it outside of the Sacraments. But I would take the time to remind them that just because you do something wrong, it doesn’t make you a bad person. Yes, there is nothing we can do to undo that mistake, but that doesn’t mean that saying it isn’t a mistake is the right answer. Remind them that you love them (and if they are religious, remind them that God loves them and that they can and will be forgiven).

That's a pretty big compliment, thx! Yeah what I love about them is how bad they are as partners. Rufioh has his obvious flaws, but wanting to leave a relationship with someone he's fallen out of love with isn't one of them. Horuss is also flawed, one of the more notable traits being his selfishness and how that affects his relationship. Horuss continues to elongate something that should've ended sweeps ago, and Rufioh's feeble attempts at ending things is a great recipe for a (admittedly tame) disastrous matespritship. It seems like communication is an entirely foreign concept to them, and Horuss' new behavioral change (thanks to his moirail who he's not even truly pale for) just makes it worse. Rufioh avoids conflict and confrontation like the plague, and Horuss pretends everything is just peachy. It's great, honestly.

To sum up how crappy Horuss is at romance (quoted from a blog whose url I can't remember please forgive me): "Horuss is so "rarely able to maintain close relationships so any time he manages to bond with someone he gets overly attached to the point where the stability of his mental state is dependent on that relationship" coded. This ties in nicely with his very explicit "lacks a sense of identity (largely due to issues relating to his also-very-blatant dissociative disorder but that's a topic for another post) so he obsesses over his relationships with other people to make himself feel more 'complete' without actually making any effort into those relationships beyond a performative surface level" storyline"

Rufioh, on the other hand, is a good example of what a manchild is. He takes no responsibility for his actions and is actively terrible to the people closest to him behind their backs (in a very bland, douchebag-ey way). He's obviously very flippant, and his methods of keeping things peaceful without rocking the boat aren't always a good thing. He literally just rolls over on his back and lets shit happen because he refuses to put his foot down (interestingly enough both guys have an issue with acknowledging things. Surely this isn't bad for the relationship...)

So yeah, together, they're pretty awful lmfao, but nothing is ever black and white. Neither of them are innocent in this, and they're both to blame, but that's why I enjoy it so much.

But then again, all the dancestors are bad people and they're only friends with each other because no one else likes them (they don't even like each other), so even if Rufioh and Horuss broke up and sought out another romantic partner within their friend group, I doubt it'd turn out well I'm still going to ship rufuss and croruss though idc

man. This is something that transcends fandom, media, etc. their are people who just won’t listen, who refuse to look inward and at least try to hear someone out. It’s nearly impossible to get them to address their internalized racism + anti blackness if they themselves refuse to acknowledge it.

It’s frustrating and exhausting and I’ve yet to find a way that doesn’t end up like your speaking with a wall.

Frankly, I just tell people their perception and treatment of Wyll makes me uncomfortable and echoes a lot of anti-black and racist sentiments. At that point, if they’re receptive, you can dive deeper. If not, well, they can sit with that information and you can only hope they’ll try to learn and change. Blocking is my go-to as well.

-elq and luzu are possessed by two different entities so that explains the obsolete there is no reason to give them something

-etoiles and mouse are very strong mentally. Etoils took the code and made it work for him, and mouse is the queen of hell

-failed implied that they were given something, but the effect was not what was desired.

-of the four issued - Bagi, jaiden, cellbit, and baghera all four have some tie with the feds.

-personally I think the feds have been administoring some treatment and it's linked to the mental state and the strength of their constitutions

I will make an exception in replying as yes, there was a part I forgot to add, which is additional evidence to prove that all your accusations in the comments below are completely false. Allow me to address them one by one.

At the end, I will include some follow-up questions to add additional context for other users.

THE ACCUSATIONS

I do not have a Tumblr. This account is made by someone else, posting on my behalf. But if you really are confident that it’s me reblogging these posts and sending harassing anons, post the blog and the anons. If you don’t know for sure, why did you post this? 

“You literally just… didn’t want me included because I wouldn't let you ship your OC with Ibara.”

As seen here, this claim is completely false. I explicitly mentioned that I had no problems with the pairing, but asked them to let me know prior next time to ensure the RP is consistent. I may have vaguely talked about an original story I was writing with my OC and Ibara outside of RP, but within the context of the RP, I have clearly stated that I was fine with the direction Lolthia wanted. 

None of what they had mentioned was communicated to me at all before the start of the RP. They didn’t even acknowledge what I said, just responding with ‘well I figured it would be obvious’.

Lolthia’s behaviour here is consistent with their stated intention in the previous post: to RP not because they want to collaborate, but because they want other writers to expend time and effort to fulfil their self-ship fantasies, without giving as much in return. Therefore, they didn’t bother giving context, let alone asking if their RP partners were okay with it.

“You even stopped our RP after getting mad about me dating Ibara.”

Lolthia stopped the RP themselves after I confronted them for ranting on their public blog about a communication issue they were unhappy with in this server.

Someone alerted me that they were talking about their RP server on their blog. I was concerned about those in the server who were on Tumblr. As their RP partner, I requested that they delete it and talk to us first in the future. We then had the following conversation.

The conversation ended with this rude remark and Lolthia proceeded to be inactive for a long time before starting the argument in the previous post.

“I got tired of constant pings asking me for stuff”/ “I… asked to stop being pinged because I was going through enough”

I need you to understand that you are the admin of the server. We needed your help to create threads to hold our RPs in. Instead of not saying anything when we pinged you only to throw a tantrum about it, why didn’t you pass the permissions or moderator roles to someone else, or at least notify us that you’d be inactive for a certain amount of time?

In the post where we were planning an RP and pinged you - If your interpretation of ‘maybe they can come in later to keep the narrative consistent’ is us excluding you, that’s honestly a you problem, mate.

TO LOLTHIA/JADE

Only one of the claims you have made against me is correct. Yes - presently, I do not like you. But it’s not because you are whatever you identify as, or that you ship with a specific character.

I do not like you because you vagued your own server members, including myself, on your public blog. When I found out and asked you to edit out the mention of our server at minimum, you still had the gall to try to convince me it didn’t affect anyone but yourself.

I do not like you for insulting my friends and I as writers by saying we were ‘just an alternative to character.AI’ all along. And as people, by comparing us to the hate anons who had sent you death threats when we did nothing of the sort. Then, twisting the above into these accusations, without a shred of proof to go with them. 

I am a ROLEPLAYER. Ibara to me is no more than a character and piece of intellectual property.

You: 

Explicitly conveyed that your position was to use us to help you get validation for your alleged ‘relationships’ in a similar way to Character.AI.

Took out your jealousy towards other fandom members onto us, even getting emotional when we merely talked about and shared screenshots of characters you liked. 

When we didn’t give you attention to your liking, accused us of ostracising you and wanting you dead.

Threw a tantrum at us for pinging you for basic admin duties as the server owner, because it wasn’t attention or praise.

The only irrational one here is not myself, but you, and the hard evidence in these two posts is overwhelming.

No, these posts are follow-ups to the document containing evidence, made by a different person. 

Q: Why did you feel the need to engage them rather than leave the server?

We had already talked only amongst ourselves, ignored any vents they had and began our own server long before these events.

Engaging them was at first a personal choice to defend my friends, who had done nothing wrong. At the time, I was not aware that this was common behaviour for them.

The comparison between us and the death threat anons, which could affect my friends’ reputations, was the most compelling reason for me to attempt straightening this out.

Q: Why has this post been made almost a year later?

Yes, I do agree that from the looks of it, Lolthia’s actions are old news. After I was informed, I personally did not want anything to do with them, and decided to let it go.

However, recently, my friends in the same fandom spaces have not had the luxury of curating their own online experiences because according to them, they are constantly remaking blogs. i think this is a good example of the situation(tm) with spain and fascism and how it's very different to other european countries like italy or germany.

this news article says that the government pays more than 9000€ per year to mantain franco's tomb (and by the government it means, well, the taxpayers). for those who don't know, francisco franco was a fascist dictator (friend of hitler and mussolini) that ruled spain from 1939 til 1975. he died peacefully. in his bed. after 4 decades of ruling. this is one of the key points regarding all of this.

and you might be thinking... well, the right wing party must be the ruling party for this to happen! lol no. we are currently under a pretty left-leaning government (this will probably change next month btw, there's general elections on april 28th). this is the government who passed the so-called trans law. and, most importantly, this government exhumated franco's body from his monumental funerary monument to a normal cemetery.

this is the monument in question, btw, it's called valle de los caídos (valley of the fallen) and it was built by the people franco sent to concentration camps throughout the country.

and yes, you read that well. franco's body was here until 2019. the monument was visited (and still is visited) by tons of fascists, who would do the nazi salute, fly the francoist flag, and chant francoist chants. all while the police was just there (but that's no surprise, isn't it). now, those people just go to the new location of franco's tomb.

oh, btw, on april 24th 2023 (4 days ago as i'm writing this post) there was another exhumation in the valley of the fallen (i just found out that since 2022 its name officially changed to 'cuelgamuros valley'. sure), this time of josé antonio primo de rivera, son of the dictator of spain from 1923-1930, and founder of the falange española, a fascist organization that became the only political party during the franco regime (yes. this is the equivalent to the nazi party) that btw still exists as a political party. so that's also lovely. this shouldn't come as a surprise, as la legión española, the military faction most closely allied to franco before, during, and after the civil war, still exists and they parade sometimes. you've probably seen these guys, there's a weird thing where people thirst over them on twitter:

anyways, this all boils down to the continuist nature of fascism in this country. fascist symbols are not banned, and neither is the flag or the hymn. i heard so many times the cara al sol (the francoist anthem) in high school sung by the kids who thought being a fascist was cool. again, franco's body wasn't exhumated until 2019 and with tons of polemics, delays and protests (protests!!!!). primo de rivera's wasn't exhumated until this very year (also with protests). and, meanwhile, there's more than 1000 mass graves still unearthed in spain, most of them filled by republicans who either were killed during the war, or right after it. one of them is the poet federico garcía lorca, considered one of (if not the best) writer in spanish history, and killed for his sexuality in 1936 by francoist soldiers. and, with him, thousands of people have been lost to time. in 2022 (83 years after the war ended) the government opened a 'mass grave searcher' on the ministry website, in order to look if your lost relative had been discovered.

i've talked about this before, but as another example, my great-grand father was unjustly sent to prisioner in 1939 for being a republican. he even spent some years in death row before being released after 5 years. he was officially pardoned by the government in 2017. he died in 1989.

also, something that has been particularly evident during this government, is that fascists are very much alive and have a ton of power. and politicians are either one of them or scared of them. keep in mind that spain has had multiple military and fascist uprisings and coup de états in the 20th century, it's very recent history. that, summed with the terrible job done during the transition period of not divorcing themselves with the francoists or just banning everything to do with them (that 'terrible job' happened because well. there were a lot of fascists there), makes for fascism being painfully present in spain all throughout the 20th and 21st century, so it's always been here, and very obviously so, and that's why it's so fundamentally different from other european regions.

this is what happens when fascists win and fuck up everything. spain is a perfect example of it. i love maps, but everytime i see alternative history maps (and there's a ton of them) that are like 'europe but hitler won ww2' i get the irk because 1) the person making that post is probably a nazi, and 2) that's just what happened in spain. the 'nazis won au' is just 20th century spain. and the consequences of that still ooze to this date. so yeah. that's all i have to say i think.

First of all, I just want to say that a lot of trans men and transmascs feel like this, that they don't want to be a guy because "all guys are bad." So, just know that you are not alone in that.

Second, not all guys are bad! In fact, I would say that good guys far outnumber the bad guys in this world.

I'll give an example: my own brother! He's cishet but he's the kindest, sweetest guy ever. He's sensitive and caring, very supportive of the queer community, and respects people's pronouns. He's the kind of friend you can rely on.

And he's not the only sweet guy out there! So many other men are also kind and caring. And you could add to that number!

I guess what I'm trying to say is this: try not to listen to the man haters. You can recognize that men can be bad while also recognizing that men can be good. You don't need to fear being a man.

Sorry this took a minute to reply to, I've been trying to figure out how I wanted to respond. For me, a lot of questions about how I do certain things are kind of tricky bc generally the answer is 'idk I just try things and tweak it until it feels right' and I don't really feel qualified to give art advice bc most of the time I'm just making stuff up as I go, but I know that's not really a helpful answer 😭

My art style tends to lean towards simple and stylized, so for scars I try to limit them to three colors at most, less if I feel like I can get away with it. It also depends a lot on the scar since there are different types of scars. Usually how I pick the colors I use is: one color darker than than the skin tone (shading), one slightly lighter than the skin tone for the injured flesh and occasionally an even lighter color for highlights. I'll include some examples under the cut. But please please please keep in mind wrt scars 99.9% of the time I'm just winging it and going off of what I think looks cool, I don't know anything about the science behind how people scar so please do your own research if you want to be accurate.

I'd say when approaching/researching scars you need to consider a few things:

Skin color of the person- Scars look different on different skin colors and different people scar differently. I think this is one of the biggest things to remember! Color pick for the scar based off of the character's skin tone and shade. The color you use for scar tissue on a person w/ light skin is going to look unrealistic and out of place on person with dark skin, doubly so if the undertone of their skin is different (ie. warm vs neutral vs cool undertones). It's so important to look up references because everyone scars differently and skin type can make a huge difference on how a person scars.

Color of the person's blood- same vibe as with blushing/lip color/etc. if your character has blue blood, the scar likely isn't going to be pink. This probably isn't something you're going to have to keep in mind a lot, but just in case. This also kind of ties into the first one because if a character has a non-human skin tone, like blue, and red blood then the scar is probably going to be more of a purple tone, for example.

Type of scar- think about the injury and what kind of scar would result from it. I'm not a doctor so idk how scarring works and generally go off of vibes, but if you want to make it as accurate as possible, I'd suggest looking up images of scars from whatever type of injury you want your character to have. I used to work with dogs and I scar easily so I have a lot of bite/scratch scars. Some of them are lighter than my skin and raised while others that were less deep are darker and on the surface of the skin (aka no texture). My brother has a very deep dog bite scar that's left a dent in his skin and light, pink and shiny scar tissue. Basically, if you know you have the stomach for it, I 100% suggest looking up examples of the type of injury you're thinking of so you can see how that injury tends to scar. Is it hypertrophic? Atrophic? Keloid?

How was it treated and how old is the scar?- is it a burn scar that received skin grafts? is it a surgical scar? stitches? did it heal well or was there infection? All of these things can change how a wound heals and scars. New scars are going to be much more stark, especially if they're still healing, and most scars fade over time. Examples under the cut...

Hello! Back again haha, thank you for giving such a clear and education answer, I really appreciate it- and also did not expect bucks and does to attempt to breed through the wire.

Now I am here to ask about butchering and the salt brine, because I plan to put my rabbits in the brine before anything else happens. But people say you have to refrigerate them- can I put them in a cooler instead? I wanna plan to get a small fridge to place in the barn but for now we don't really have the space for that.

Personally, I've only brined rabbit meat once. It's only a vaguely necessary step if you intend to try to cook an older rabbit in any way that isn't either a soup/stew or any other 'low and slow' method. The only time I've ever felt the need to brine was when I was using meat from an 8 month old doe, and I intended to pan fry the meat. Even then, I only did a simple salt and vinegar brine for about an hour, and the meat turned out great - not too dry at all.

When you're butchering, generally all you need to do is give the carcass a good rinse with cold water and then submerge it in ice water until you're finished with all the rabbits you're butchering that day. If you're only doing one rabbit, you can just give it a good rinse in cold water, pat it dry, and then either put it in a bag in the fridge where it should last a few days raw, or put it in the freezer where it can last at least a year. Otherwise, once you're done with all the ones you need to do, take the carcasses out of the ice water and do the same thing I said with the one rabbit - pat it dry, bag it (take as much of the air out as possible! vacuum seal or special heat sealing poultry bags are great, but a standard freezer bag will be ok too), and stick it in the fridge to last a few days or freezer for at least a year.

If you do intend to brine before you use them, do so just before you intend to use them. If your rabbit is frozen make sure it gets thawed in the refrigerator before you stick it in your brine, but if it was just refrigerated you can immediately stick it in the brine, and then let it sit in the brine in your refrigerator for (in my opinion) no more than 24 hours.

Hope this was vaguely helpful and not super confusing. Biggest thing is, a cooler for your barn would be great so you can put ice water in it and keep the carcasses you've already finished processing in their while you work on the rest. You don't need a refrigerator for your barn, but definitely make sure you have plenty of freezer and fridge space at home because if things go well, you might end up with more meat than you know what to do with!

#this isnt the be-all-end-all advice btw - this is just what I've been taught and what I've always done #so far its worked out great for me but i cant vouch for if it's the best way of doing things or not #if anyone else has other advice or anything please add on!

I think the best way I can sum up French conservatives' mindset is what I call "the Enlightenment complex".

There's this feeling of pride that's engrained in our little french brains since we are kids- through our schools, the media, or just our interactions with others- about the fact that many philosophers from the Age of Enlightenment stemmed from our country, and that we were the first european nation to have its revolution. This leads many to form an idealized version of France in their minds, a France which can do no wrong because it's supposedly always been so visionnary, in which individual freedoms have always been upheld and respected, in which the police has always been a force of good, blablabla.

Obviously, that's bullshit. One only needs look at the way the media and our politicians treated Nahel's murder by the french police to see how flawed that picture is and how many underlying issues they've been sweeping under the rug. But conservatives refuse to even acknowledge the existence of said issues, or any systemic issue for that matter.

That's because to them, the problems can only come from the exterior, or from anyone who doesn't fit their subjective shitty definition of what a French person should be (you guessed it: white, cishet, obeying to traditional gender norms, etc). "These woke snowflakes are actually a cult who don't care about the individual and constantly think they're the victims of a non-existent systemic oppression, it's really white cishet males whose existence is threatened by them", "all of our problems stem from immigration and not us", and so on. It's similar, but not exactly the same as american white christian nationalism. For instance, most of them justify their blatant islamophobia by screaming about how islam is "being pushed down their throats" because muslim people supposedly have "no respect for laicity, which is the cornerstone of our country"...

......... While the right wing is campaining to have "France stems from Christian values" written in our constitution.

Blood Buddies Stuff :p pt.1: Nica

making a few general posts about the alterations to canon I made in my chucky au which I'll go into more depth about eventually :) keep in mind some of my au's big changes were made before the series was out so I'm still rewriting and changing things in the series to make sense in the new context but using the films as a blueprint this is just some context for my characterization of chucky and what nica means to my au:

- I don't think chucky should hate kids, I love how he just accepted that he had a kid in seed and I hate that don wrote him to be an ass to his kids. I like to think that charles had a baby doll as a child that he was rather fond of and got separated with after the murder of his parents

- he also never murdered his mom like he did in the show, as he said killing has been a family tradition for years and unfortunately marsha and peter were killed in their home when the police came to confront them about their suspected serial killings

- I changed how charles knows nica's family, in my au nica is chucky's biological daughter, this goes two ways considering I can see chucky being a cis or a trans man but for now I'll describe the cis au, he met sarah before the movie implies and he still has that cringe scene with sarah the night he's killed where in his anger over the police being called he figures if he can't have his baby then no one will

- chucky is woken up after the events of seed on the twins' 5th birthday, chaos happens as he takes the role of fatherhood but after 4 years go by chucky is bored and decides to go after people he has unfinished business with, the first person he goes after being sarah since he can't find mike norris' contact information lmao

- to his surprise his kid is alive so instead of trying to kill nica he's trying to take her back, he tries to get her to kill during cult the way he does with glen during seed because he wants to see if she's got it in her to kill

- since his powers are blood based he takes nica from the asylum by possessing her through their shared blood, he doesn't do anything cringe in her body and when he comes out to greet tiffany by the car she's like 'holy shit I guess she is your daughter... huh'

- tiffany didn't know about sarah/nica until cult's plot (I imagine when she called to rat him out she just gave the location of his apartment not knowing what he was hiding there) so I imagine chucky was getting the twins to help him track sarah/nica down through the internet because I know that bitch can NOT use a laptop

- nica absolutely does not have that shit from the season 1 finale happen to her that was fucked up :)
