(this is literally also canon with the sealing, flashbacks and basically everything that happened with geto, and what not). so like, realistically the best option would have been yuki if they were attracted to each other. i suspect gojo keeps most people out either consciously to keep a distance or because he has emotionally just developed that way and unconsciously keeps an emotional distance. hence the playboy appearance but i don't think that's him being an actual playboy, just personally. it feels more like he doesn't go much further than light-hearted banter and flirting, and it's pretty clear to anyone that he's not emotionally attached (if we're talking short term relationships/dating or something like flings even. he's not breaking hearts by being deceptive, if he's breaking hearts it's because people want him but can't have him. just what it seems like to me personally)

If we disregard any of those things and give gojo a little bit of a nicer hc world to live in where things didn't go as wrong, it seems like geto was basically the only person he ever learned to rely on for anything, someone to share his burdens, and he was the only person who got to him as a person, not the strongest, not a weapon, not the power ceiling size eyes user but as simply satoru. he probably learned to be emotionally vulnerable for the first time ever with geto because geto was strong and capable of taking care of himself , but also saw satoru as the lost and lonely teenager he was (look how serious/scary he seemed as a kid. that kid saw and knew too much. the "fun" personality he developed is probably a result of some kind of nihilism to deal with the reality that he would be carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders). so no matter what the nature of their relationship was, it was likely gojo's strongest bond and the one that had the most impact on him. and then he couldn't save geto, despite being the strongest, which made him question what that power was even good for if he couldn't even save the people closest to him. he decided he needed allies that would be just as strong if not stronger than him. because then he wouldn't have to keep saving or losing people alone.

[as an aside, personally, power dynamics in a (romantic) relationship, ie one person having significantly more power over the other person in a relationship, is my personal biggest nightmare/pet peeve. i hate unequal relationships. if the person with power isn't a narcissistic manipulative asshole, then the relationship sucks for both people. sure you can probably learn a lot but there are other ways to do that]

anyway, I'm glad we get to discuss some of the emotional and relational aspects of jjk because there's so much subtext. most people in the story have heavy heavy trauma in their lives. more than half of the cast don't even have a family or, well, anyone other than the people at jujutech to rely on. and it was understood from the character dialogues that a lot of them (aside from gojo's students, who are specifically being taken in a different direction) choose to keep their distance from other sorcerers so they don't have to keep mourning the deaths of their friends and peers all the time. so yeah.

ok so, I think I will divide this in topics if you don't mind just so I can organize it well inside my head OIFJASOIFJ

mitsumi

strengths: her heart is one of my favorite things about her. I think mitsumi is someone who can look at the bright side of things without having that naive or infantilized look to it. her positivity is something that inspires me a lot and her mindset of always coming back up after a fall is something that I wish I could add to my life.

weaknesses: I think she needs to be a little more incisive with her desires and voice them more. I do think she's getting better and better with this, but I know that she's bottling up a lot of feelings that she's too afraid to say it out loud. I want her to be a little more selfish and think about herself, put herself first.

shima

strengths: I really think shima has a lot of kindness inside him. I think he might be a little clumsy with the way he acts, but I do think he's trying very hard to always show kindness to people. I also admire how he's trying hard to fight his past ghosts and how he's resilient.

weaknesses: I think it's the obvious one, in the end: shima still needs to learn how to trust people and how to act on his own and not the way people want him to act. in this point of the story, I think he's like way better than he was before, but there's still a long way to go. he's also a little impulsive sometimes and I wish he would stop and think more before speaking in moments of anger.

what I love about their dynamic is how they are a safe space for each other. even that shima can't completely open up to mitsumi, he does feel like she's someone he can trust and someone he loves a lot, which is one of the reasons why he's always so scared of losing her. I love how their friendship started to grow little by little and how they were curious about each other, wanting to get to know each other without any second reasons.

I think their platonic relationship is beautiful. both are very worried about each other and respect each other a lot. I also like how shima let himself go a little and let his silly side shine when he's with mitsumi and I love how she's always so open and so comfortable around him.

love how mitsumi is respectful and understand that shima needs his space, doesn't force him to do anything and even after the breakup, she urges the girls to now call him out and respects his space a lot.

idk I think I could be here for a long time but I feel like this answer is already huge!! I just love these two dorks and I'm happy to see their friendship growing more and more. can't wait to see what sensei's planning!!

I found a very interesting detail or "hint" regarding Utahime's CT, it's named after a song about forbidden zone and the lyrics is very peculiar and interesting to say the list, i recommend you check it out if you want! but onto the point here, if you follow the lyrics, you'll notice that singer is talking about one sided love, where she has these feelings for a masked man but he does not reconcile, yet she still continues to have these feelings and remains confused at the same time. now, some of my friends that ship gjhm shared their opinion with me that it could be Utahime having feelings for Gojo but he's not returning them? It's interesting even though i don't personally agree as i don't know for certain if Gege-sensei named her CT solely for that reason or it was just a fun thing because of a known song that has an album called Utahime/

another thing they share with me is that Waka Inoue aka the wallpaper Gojo had as a teen shares some similarities to Utahime BUT also to Shoko too, like they're the same height, they enjoy sport albeit Waka prefers golf etc etc, so they tell me that maybe Utahime was based of on Waka, but the thing is Inoue was a popular gravure model back in 2000s more notably 2006, so this to me makes me believe that he threw her there more for that reason rather than to compare to Uta or Shoko. And that's iiiit, idk i think these theroies/headcanons are cute if you're a shipper but me who likes to read this more critically, especially if the bit about her CT is true, then the ship is kinda debunked? Chapter 18: max makes a bet with rei that's "going to be an easy win", then proceeds to lose the bet 50 chapters later

i've always enjoyed including the detail that giancarlo has taught max to sneak out of the house. because gianni does it in canon. it's just perfect and i can't believe these two prob don't even talk to each other once in canon

and now max is starting to roast ralf too but also, nice foreshadowing there

so like, about the first 1-on-1 interaction in person between takao and kai that they ever have, is this:

yeah this is the point with double takao chapters! this is my own story where i'm the one who did the decisions yet i keep imagining this being like a wrestling match between rei and takao where they fight which one is the protag---

this chapter is really just description of cherrywood and the garden. the highlight is takao deciding he needs to try if the triangles on kai's face are paint or not

i wasn't very good at describing things in these chapters, i remember struggling with that and rewriting things a hundred times actually. well, the good news is that it comes easier to me now so clearly something has improved.

oh these are exams administered not by the school itself but uh. by a company. who charges like 90 dollars per exam. that you statistically will probably not pass. and everyone buys into it because at least taking the course shows you try hard. which helps you get into a good university. better if you scored a 4 or 5, which then again you need to pay to report to Each School You Apply To

yeah im taking calc ab which is like. calc 1? and calc bc is calc 1 and 2 in the same amt of time? maybe its bcs all the smart kids go into calc bc is prob why the pass rate is good

oh yeah uh, the grading goes like ... this. they have very strict guidelines on how to grade. so for frq (free response question) if like any of x, x, or x are true, score whatever number it tells you to. if the response gets past those and if any of x x or x are true, score a 6 or smth. and whether the response reached that, depends on the ap graders, who are stuck into this huge place in like idk minnesota and they just grade all day. all day. like they have a quota of like 200 or 300 exams to go through and grade. for mcq its either right or wrong the computer can grade that they prob just scan it all in the scantron

for language yeah it depends on the teacher and how they prepare you for the test over the years you learn the language idk if you did the STAMP test or whatever but i got like one of the top scores in the class for speaking, a 5 5 6 7 (reading, writing, listening, speaking) so technically i have a good chance at ap japanese exam but am i going to sit through sensei's class for another year? hell the fuck no.

i have no idea where they got that, because i was like "tf is happening" this entire year. so like i don't know. but i passed.

favorite thing about them —he's like a bomb ready to go off at any minute, and he is daring you to light the fuse. he is taunting you to light the fuse. he is actively encouraging you to take that match and light the fuse and make his fucking day. i find this compelling in a character.

least favorite thing about them —i wish we got to see him like. need his friends a little bit more. he seems to tolerate them more than he depends on them, and while that makes sense given that he never wants to be forced to be dependent on anyone, it's like. he has to be. at some point. nobody is an island etc etc and his friends are sooooo ready and willing to love and support him. i wish we got to see that more?

random headcanon —i think gai sensei may have straight up offered to adopt neji when he found out abt the hyūga clan situation at home and neji had such a bad reaction to that they never bring it up to discuss it again. it's not that he doesn't like gai, it's that he didn't feel this would have solved any of the problems with the hyūga family, and if anything it possibly put neji at greater risk of backlash, and would bring gai under fire too. it just kind of frustrated him more, and made him feel even more trapped in his situation. and also a little like gai did not understand him when he spoke about it. this said, he still thinks about it sometimes. and like, what his life would've been like if he had the ability to say "yes, get me out of here" without fearing the repercussions. he doesn't know how to imagine the kind of person that situation would have created.

unpopular opinion —is this an unpopular opinion? i don't think he's a prettyboy simply because he has long hair. nothing about him seems to be all that concerned with looks, he is simply a very serious little guy, with very long hair. this also seems to be the case with most hyūga men, at least in the main branches of the family...indicating, i think, that this is less about his personal concern with his looks, and more about adhering to tradition. saying this makes me feel like the like. the hair-cut-symbolism police or something because i also generally read yamato's long hair as being more a symbol of him being forced to assume the role of knockoff-hashirama, instead of him having fun with gender and being pretty, but also...i don't know...the context around these characters in both of these cases leads me to my assumptions!

Okay, I feel like I'm losing my mind here.

So in season 5 Kai has his little hydrophobic plot, and I posted a video like, hey, in season 2 he willingly just walks into the ocean in an attempt to get back to ninjago. Haha, funny continuity error. Ninjago's such a mess, lol.

But then I get a bunch of comments like "Yeah, Kai was so brave in that moment, overcoming his greatest fear, he’s such a strong character." And like... no? That's not at all how that moment reads? And if they wanted that to be the impact, they would have to introduce the hydrophobic thing BEFORE this moment happened. It takes him a solid minute to work up the nerve to save Lloyd, but he just walks into the ocean unprompted? NO! This doesn't make sense! You can't convince me this makes sense!

And some people are trying to tell me that this moment may have been the one which CAUSED his water anxiety, and like... no. What do you think happened in this scene? Plus, we don't have any other events in the series that could have caused it, and it’s like a REALLY severe fear in season 5, so it 100% comes out of nowhere.

In all fairness, they do try to justify it. He says he's scared because he can't make a fire dragon anymore. But like... he's only been able to make one for a few episodes at this point. So that's kind of a non sequitur. He also says it's because he doesn't have his powers. But Kai's been without his powers before. And at what point would you feel more powerless than the literal end of the world?! Sensei Wu says flat out that evil has won. He's scared cuz Lloyd is possessed? Same exact situation with Nya in season 2!

But, even if Kai had a tramatic water related event off screen that was never mentioned, his plan is to swim back to ninjago, and we learn in season 5 that he CAN'T SWIM, so like... what? He unlearned how to swim between seasons 2 and 5? I posted a second video pointing this out, and people still seem insistent that Kai was just SO brave he was willing try even though he knew he couldn't swim.

...I'm sorry. WHAT?!

Even if he's ridiculously hyped up by Lloyd’s speech, why would anyone that can't swim volunteer and immediately act on (and I can't stress this enough) WITHOUT PROMPTING the idea to swim across the ENTIRE OCEAN. If anything, Jay’s 'floaties' line implies that HE can't swim more than ANYTHING Kai is doing!

Idk. It just really bothers me that everyone seems so insistent this doesn't confuse his character at all. Like, I know we all joke about Kai being dumb, but like... running into the ocean to drown dumb? Really? That's what you're going with?!

You can feel it coming out. The one thing you wanted to keep secret from 1-A was coming out, just before lunch no less!

You're d e f i n i t e l y fucked.

You had called in sick a day ago because of a fever from carelessness. While it was fun to have a break from the ever-busy school's classes, it would be hard for you to catch up on lessons if you were not to attend again. You had a reputation to uphold as not only one of the strongest but also smartest of the class and only God knows how terrible it would be if Bakugou overcame your record because a silly sickness held you back.

Recalling the last time you surpassed him in academics and the way sparky boom boom man almost murdered you from his looks alone, you shivered. You definitely didn't want that.

So, on the second day of your cold, you decided to go to class with only a mask to cover half of your pitiful face.

"Woah! Why is 1-A's resident fox dressed like an idol?" Ashido pointed out as soon as you entered earlier this morning. She only got a grunt in return.

Whatever conversation Iida, Uraraka, and Midoriya had has come to a stop. They all stared you down.

"You look like shit," Bakugou quipped, vocalizing what the Dekusquad wanted to tell you. too blunt for their liking, but same sentiments nontheless

"Thanks," was your only reply.

No comeback, no angry retort, not even a roll of an eye. Everyone was taken aback by the scene that had unfold. You never backed down from any comment Bakugou threw your way. Never was there a quiet moment when the two of you were in the same room. To see this, the class' dear kitsune not even attempting at sending a piercing jab, certainly shook them to the core.

That brings us to now, you were having mental breakdown because it was hard to keep it in. You never wanted anyone to find out this side of yours. But holy shit, life's a bitch. If anyone were to find out, you'd be done for.

No more intimidating kitsune. No more tough guy act.

Ah shit.

Here it comes.

You wanted to die.

Nobody seemed to notice your turmoil, honestly. Everyone was just waiting for lunch to come because class ended a tad bit earlier and everyone was talking without a care.

Cooes and “aw Y/N”s were heard from the entire room. Heck, even Shoji’s eyes were sparkling because who knew that their scary guy can be this cute. Their weird noises grew tenfold this time around because of your new form.

“Shut the fuck up,” You grumbled, though no one found it intimidating because you looked so cuddly right now.

“You look as scary as a marshmallow,” Bakugou snorted (but like,,, is that a small blush on his face or—)

Aizawa-sensei, who had long since retreated to his caterpillar phase, was also taking interest in your embarrassment. He’s trying his best to hide it though by simply peeking at the commotion from his cocoon.

Maybe you should’ve stayed at the dorms...

Your train of thought was cut off by Todoroki quietly walking towards your desk. All eyes were on him, wary of what he might say or do. But no one was prepared enough for the next few words he’ll utter.

“Can I… pet you?”

Hugging Kakashi

Idk, man. People liked my Yamato hugs, so I wanted to write a Kakashi one too. It didn’t come out the way I planned. I just have a lot of Kakashi feelings & want to hug all the pain out of him 25/8, okay?

Hugs with Kakashi are different every time. He adapts depending on the people watching, the reason for the hug, etc.

I’m gonna focus on one instance, though because I have a lot of Kakashi feelings right now.

It’s when he finds himself at your door one night. His face says it all.

You don’t know if it was a nightmare, a trigger, or just a bad day where he couldn’t forget. All you knew is he hated himself for everything he blamed himself for.

You step aside, and he steps inside silently. He just stands there in the entryway while you close the door. He’s hard to read, but you see right through him, so while he’s got that hundred-mile stare, you shut your door.

Then, you walk around him and take him in your arms slowly and gently. It’s almost like you have some subconscious fear that he’ll push you away if you touch him with too much force too fast.

He doesn’t automatically hug you back, but he moves to allow you to hug him, and he leans into your touch. You breathe deeply, hoping he’ll note your steady breath and mimic the action. He gradually wraps his arms around you too, and buries his face in your neck, finally allowing his body to relax some.

Once a long moment has past, you start murmuring to him.

“Kakashi… I know you aren’t going to believe me right now, but I don’t care…”

“You are so good…”

“You’re brilliant…”

“You are a wonderful person…”

“You are enough. You are so much more than enough.”

“I don’t know what I did to deserve someone so amazing in my life…”

“You’re so unbelievably loved…”

“I’m so glad you’re here in my life…”

“I love hugging you. You give better hugs than you think you do.”

“You always know how to make everyone smile. Nobody makes me smile like you do…”

“You have such a handsome smile…”

“You’re so brave…”

“You’re the best sensei. Your students told me so themselves.”

And you start reminiscing about happy memories

“Remember that time we tried to sneak Pakkun into the movies with us to see Icha Icha?”

“Oh! What about that time where you and Gai nearly tore up the town with one of your challenges?”

You stroke his back while you laugh a little at the memories you remember.

He smiles a little into your neck. It doesn’t meet his eyes, but it’s a start. He feels a little better.

So, you keep going, reminding him of all the times he was brave, funny, brilliant, wonderful, etc.

Somehow, he feels small in your arms, and you want nothing more than to build him back up again.

You know it’s silly, but while you talk, you try to force the love out of your body and into his because, god, this man deserves it.

“God, I cannot even begin to explain how much you mean to me, Kakashi. You make me so happy.”

You start going off about a time where you two were messing with Yamato when he finally speaks.

“Thank you.”

You pause. “Huh?”

Kakashi pulls away from the hug, and you cup his cheek. You pray your gesture conveys how much you wish you could shoulder his pain instead of him. If you could, you would take every single ounce of hurt if it meant he didn’t have to.

He seems to understand, placing his palm atop of yours and turning his masked face to press a kiss to your palm through the fabric covering his lips.

“Hey, you catch his attention, “Why don’t we get something to eat? What do you feel like? I can make us something or we can get something delivered.”

“You don’t have to–”

“Hush and pick something.”

“Alright… Thank you. You’re an angel.”

And then you eat and laugh and he probably stays over and you guys have a fun sleepover.

A Wild Sheep Chase: Chapter 2 of Choujin X!

It's here! I've gushed about the chapter over at my Twitter, but like I said in my previous post, I want to see how the story progresses and keep a log about it. So here it goes!

Background info on Ely Otsuta

So before we delve into Chapter 2 which almost exclusively featured Ely... Let's take note of the new things we learned about Ely:

She's from a rural prefecture. I think she lives in the mountainside specifically since that's where she grows her tomatoes.

She's a greenthumb (we already kinda knew this from the previous chapter but we learn more about her life pre-Choujin X). I understand that even if the soil is infertile, she's able to grow tomatoes so nutritious and plump. So plump, they resemble butts, hence, "bumbums!" It appears she uses advanced equipment for her farming stuff. So yeah, based on these, it's established Ely has a green thumb!

Oh, and it appears that it's clarified that her "Grandpapi" whom she talks about in the 1st chapter is an adoptive grandfather (not biological, hence, maybe in the future we'd know her parents and learn why Ely is special).

It's just me but I get the impression that Ely is being introduced as some sort of "fertility" choujin, since she also dreams of having 9 kids. Haha!

It's kinda weird though why the burning tomato has a face. Was it just from her dream, since after plucking a bumbum - she woke up? Hmm, after some thought, I think the burning tomato with a face is just from her dream.

Ely Wakes Up from Reality

When Ely woke up, she finds herself in the South Yamato prefecture. Okay, so I think this leaning tower of some sort has a significance to the story.

It's featured in every spread with the title "Choujin X" and also in the last chapter. Can you see it? Maybe it has something to do with how the powers are made, like pollution-related or a botched experiment. Dunno. Just my wild speculation.

A Wild Sheep Chase

This is the exciting part. So when Ely wakes up, Chandra Hume offers to "escort" her, but really it appears he wants to kidnap her. And from, *checks the manga* page 10 to 40, we have Ely running away from Chandra until she fell in what looks like a similar area where Tokio and Azuma fought Johnny Kiyoshi Takeyama.

The chase sequence consisting of 30 pages were so fun and I was smiling all the while I was reading! Ely is so cute trying to parkour her way through the buildings (kinda reminds me of Touka?? I miss Touka!). Chandra looks really cool, he seemed to be flying too, using his powers (more on that later)!

But not to be outdone, Ely borrows a "Roller Boy Yay-Yay" which basically is a scooter with something that resembles a driver's wheel. Its literal translation of ローラーBOYイェイ・イェイ -- which, checking Twitter and in Ishida's latest live stream, I think the locals found it hilarious too. Ishida is just unleashing his crazy here, I love it!

After that sequence, we get the tractor and sheep chase. Ah! I love it.. So what happened is that, Chandra and Ely fall off from their Roller Boy Yay-Yay. Ely who just claimed she can outrun Chandra if she were riding a tractor, suddenly found one right in front of her! Then Chandra lands near a gang... or should I say, a flock of sheep-bikers. They're all wearing these Kanji-printed tracksuits and basically look like they're a bunch of delinquents? They even describe themselves as "cryptid bikers"... Cryptid supposedly means mysterious? Idk why the weird choice of words for the translation though.

Funnily, I was just reading Haruki Murakami's A Wild Sheep Chase (羊をめぐる冒険 --- Hitsuji o meguru bōken or literally An Adventure Surrounding Sheep). I wonder if this scene something to do with this book?

Anyway, Chandra entices the sheep to help hip capture Ely by bribing them with a Docomo flip phone. I don't know why a flip phone - could mean the following: (a) the sheep are so poor, a flip phone is cool; (b) maybe flip phones are a status symbol in that universe; (c) maybe the setting is in the 2000s when the flip phones really were all the rage.

So they all chase Ely, but Chandra suddenly has a car too. Someone on Twitter said it's a Porsche? But I can't tell, though Chandra said his car is a four-wheel drive... Heh? Idk what to do with this info.

As for Ely, she is really good with the tractor as she said. The hilarity of outrunning motorcycles and what could be a Porsche. That tractor prowess! Later on, Chandra and the other sheep figure into an accident with a "safety-loving" truck (oh the irony, lol). Chandra flew off the car and so did his fancy shoes...

Ely didn't exactly come out unscathed. Ishida allocated 4 double spreads for this epic fall. Some of the sheep definitely should have died from that spectacular accident.

At first, Ely was smug about escaping the sheep. But then, I think she was moved by compassion and I think she hurt herself in order to revive the sheep. I just wonder though, how she learned to do that?

Then we get another awesome double spread of her transformation, similar to Tokio's. Augh Ishida-sensei. These are soooo good!!!!

Because of her transformation, the whole area was engulfed with smoked and I think the sheep were effectively revived. It appears Chandra saw all this (while he was regenerating... so we now know choujins or at least smoke choujins like Chandra has regenerative powers), hence he marveled at Ely's newfound power. It was kinda confirmed that Ely was responsible for keeping the casualties to a minimum. Specifically he said Ely possesses: quick judgment, though resolve, persistence... making her a human with the makings of a choujin... while also kinda noting Ely's silliness.

Here we go again with Chandra's "fancy gentleman" facade... Even the way he talks is fancy ("I am well-acquainted with the roads here") but more than that... he's self-important. I talked about my other views on his character on Reddit. I get the impression he's something of a "Choujin supremacist", you know what I mean? So, he wants to kinda recruit Ely into his organization or whatever.

Ely is righteous

So we see that Ely is further introduced as a good character, standing up against Chandra and rejecting his offer to be his pupil or something. Ely was clearly upset about the grandma getting hurt (did she die? I hope she didn't) and made it clear she would never join him. Chandra takes offense at this rejection, especially when Ely said Chandra is worse than a turd.

As Chandra tries to inflict pain on Ely (something about marking her on the face), she recalls her resolve from Chapter 1: drones for farming, a greenhouse, her grandpappy, a mansion, the big dog, paying back the kid for his roller boy yay-yay, the Goldilocks hubbie, nine kids... But just before we can see if she can fight Chandra off...

The most handsome man of all Sui Ishida's works (haha!)

This buff mysterious man with a bandana reminiscent of the Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles seemed to have blown Chandra and Ely (also the cars and motorcycles) away by a mere clap of his hands. It appears even Chandra is afraid of this guy and recognizes him... he leaves the scene using his smoke powers before the guy can do serious damage. I think his power has something to do with wind since there was like a little hint with all the ventilation stuff in the setting.

The guy manages to create a circle of protection around Ely. He tells Ely that Chandra's modus is to target "people with aptitude like Ely". He helpfully mends Ely's punctured hand with his bandana.... And when Ely looks up at his face, what do you know? Haha!

Our girl Ely has a love interest! Haha.

Tokio's Gregor Samsa moment

I've observed from the manga I've read that characters with transformation abilities always, always go through this adjustment period with the power. Gregor Samsa, Peter Parker, our boy Kaneki... Anyway, it seems Tokio doesn't know or can't turn back into a normal-looking person. But the last panel sure is interesting because we have them experiencing this transformation at the same time. Also, since it reminds me of Touka and Ayato's volume cover. I hope they find each other soon though!

Types of Choujins and initial premises on the Power of Choujins

So there are 3 confirmed types so far: Flexi (Johnny), Bestial (our boy Tokio), and Smoke. It seems that pretty boy Hoshi doesn't have a category yet, but like I said I think his has something to do with air or ventilation lol.

We learned that Chandra is a Smoke Choujin, and Ely is now one too and she was may have been somehow infected by Chandra's smoke/fumes. It appears now that there are 2 ways to become a choujin: injection and inhalation. Chandra wonders if Ely was infected with his power... But I'm thinking the infection theory might not be that accurate. After all, it seems Ely has a green thumb.

But, I think as Chandra said, only some people have an aptitude for this. So, Ely and Tokio are examples. I wonder if Azuma also has choujin powers or did it not manifest yet? Is the aptitude inherent or something you can acquire? If so, what does Tokio have that Azuma doesn't, especially since everyone thinks Azuma is "better" than Tokio in all aspects?

We'll find out in Chapter 3 more or less!! I'm sorry for any grammar mistakes! I'd like to hear your thoughts or comments if any :)
