ogfoofodoxx thinking about how the most defining character trait of haymitch is how protective he is. not in the sense it's the most obvious, but how all of his actions are fueled by this desire to protect. how hard he works at keeping katniss alive in the first games, him fighting to keep them from augmenting katniss's body, him yelling at plutarch to keep finnick from having to share his trauma, him being so involved in peeta's recovery and being the one to bring katniss home. him holding mayslee's hand as she died, fighting for plutarch to stay and rescue peeta, being the one to find katniss and finnick when johanna had an episode, begging coin to believe peeta's warning. it being heavily implied or either outright stated that he was one of the people who fought to protect effie.

makes me physically ill because no one does that for him. everyone who would of, died.

Hi friend!! I’ve missed you.

Okay so. I am holding onto hope that:

1- The first half of the season (if that rumor of the first part being episode 1-9 are true) will be when the blip happened and during the blip, which would give the excuse and reason for Foggy and Karen NOT being there. It’s now seeming like Matt never got snapped away- which I would LOVE to see how they do that with his senses cuz that shit would be so so tragic in Matt’s pov having no idea what’s happening and nothing he can do to do stop it- so Matt doesn’t get snapped, but Karen and Foggy do- so their firm….is also gone. It would be too painful for Matt to continue that business without them.

Due to these reasons and pain and guilt and PAIN and Matt, because he’s Matt, will somehow blame himself for not helping in a battle he had no idea was happening and stopping it. He may go into a depression again, maybe this is where and when he meets Kirsten or something. But during the 5 years of the blip, he decides to work for/with another firm, or start a new one again.

2- Again if the rumor is true and the second part of the season is episodes 10-18, maybe that’s when End Game happens and everyone comes back. (I don’t think Born Again was even close to finising that first half of filming before the WGA Strike so reaaalllyyy, maybe there’s wiggle room here once selfish studios pay writers and actors what they deserve and more and filing starts again whenever that will be)

But my theory and some other fans theories, that the second part will be AFTER the Blip, and they can do a little time jump if they want or flashbacks or something idk. Let’s not forget in She-Hulk Matt actually looked and seemed happy, in a good place, at times lighthearted and having fun and THE SAME WITTY CHARMING ASS (i say fondly) HE IS (that didn’t change) with Jen and he even says “we” talking about his firm and Matt has always kinda been against bigger/giant law firms because most of the lawyers that work at those places tend to be more corrupt and not have the clients best interests at heart. Maybe if he joined a bigger firm during the blip there would be some conflict there.

And after, this would be A great reason and opportunity to bring back Foggy and Karen and could potentially start up their business again, or at least get Foggy to join the firm, OR they have a little branch under the bigger firm. The point is, they could use the second part of the season to bring back Nelson and Page.

And Matt’s words to Jen sounds more like he has Foggy back in his life and he’s still in a pretty good place. You don’t think Foggy would get an absolute kick out of Matt having a one night stand with She-Hulk!? He’s be so proud and cracking joke’s because “she literally spanked your ass twice” 😂 (Kevin if you’re reading this…)

3- After seeing Charlie Cox at two cons and meeting him twice, I firmly and 100% believe he has somewhat of a voice in some decisions for Born Again. The studio KNOWS this show or “reboot” or continuation wouldn’t be possible or the same without Charlie. Kevin knew that. And the reaction Charlie/Matt got in NHW PROVED how much the entire fandom loves him as Daredevil. So, I feel like his input and opinions are valued. Which makes me hopefully guess/theorize that Charlie has at least spoken to someone about bringing back Elden and Deborah. And I know Vincent really loved Deborah as Karen too, and I feel like he would also have a say because you just can’t change him as Fisk either. Same with Jon as the Punisher.

So again, I am holding out for being hopeful and not truly believing anything until it’s in the actual episodes I watch. It’s marvel, we have to remember that, they lie and gaslight fans all the time and try to convince the fans what’s not true and what is. So a twitter account from “sources” is a little harder to believe.

I have nothing against Deborah Ann-Woll or her as Karen because I actually loved Karen. But 99% of the heart in Daredevil was Foggy and his relationship with Matt. To not have AT LEAST Foggy be in the show at some point is utterly ridiculous. Matt’s not suddenly going to have a new best friend who truly gets and understands every single side of him and knows his past and martyr tendencies like Foggy. Matt isn’t just gonna straight up trust others and tell them he’s also Daredevil (Jen literally just ripped his mask off but he had no intention of telling her know)

And honestly, just as no one else but Charlie Cox could play and be Matt/Daredevil, no one else but Elden Henson can be and play Foggy. I just don’t think that amazing heart of Foggy’s can be the same without Elden.

Thanks for plugging your Until Dawn poll, I looove polls! Some of your Qs got me thinking though and I'm curious about your thoughts:

About the group's relationships with their parents: Ranked from best to worst, how do you personally feel each member gets along with their parents? One reason I ask is because I've always wondered how that conversation went down between each character and their parent(s) about Josh inviting them back up to the same lodge with the same group where tragedy struck (from their own poor choices) only one year ago? Granted, the group are all legally adults by this point and can make their own decisions, but I believe that doesn't mean their parents were all clueless/uncaring about the matter or had no input about it.

So essentially what I'd love to pick your brain about is this: of the 8 playable characters, which of the 8 do you believe 1) confided to their parents about the invitation (or possibly concealed it), and 2) who valued their parents' advice and who did not?

Here’s what think for each :)

Ashley: I think she loves her parents and often gets along with them, but they also get into fights where everyone is just like glaring and sighing at each other for days until it fizzles out. Ash can hold a grudge. She explained where she was going, and her parents weren’t pleased about it. It took her a bit to convince them.

Chris: IDK why but I think he has a good relationship with his mom. Not a bad one with his dad, but a closer one with his mom. They’re protective of him and won’t let him do certain things, but they aren’t helicopter parents either. I think his mom talked him through returning to the lodge and brought up lots of concerns, but Chris framed returning as wanting to be there for Josh, and she felt guilty. She told him to be careful at night and everything.

Emily: She’s snarky with her parents but she also takes care of herself and her grades and is efficient around the house, so there are some spats but also an equilibrium. Additionally, she keeps to her room when she’s in a bad mood. She probably vented about this (especially how Mike and Jess would be there) to her parents. They suggested she don’t go, but didn’t worry too much when she decided to.

Jess: She’s very teenagery with her parents and they can bicker and tease each other. She’s very “ugh!” towards them sometimes and they still cut off stuff like financial help and phone payments when she’s being bratty (I’m thinking about when she loses her phone and is worried her parents are going to be mad). She either begged until they let her or straight up lied about where she was going.

Matt: I honestly have such a hard time sensing background info about Matt. But I think his parents raised him to be polite. They were probably mad at him after the first trip (“You were involved in what happened to that girl? Matthew, we taught you better!!!”). He may have just lied and said he was traveling for football (and gotten his teammates in on it!). If he didn’t lie, his parents had a firm talk with him about it.

Josh: Strained relationship with his parents due to his medical history and the twins’ deaths. They definitely had a great family relationship at some point because Josh has good memories of them going up to the lodge and playing games together. Now, I think they feel sorry for him and have tried to help but are starting to be at a loss of what to do. He clearly hid stuff about the trip and lied about things. He likely pulled the same thing he did with his friends like: “I just want closure.”

Mike: Really independent. He doesn’t have a bad relationship with his parents, but does his own thing a lot. He didn’t even tell them about this. They think he’s still at his university while the events of the game are going on.

Sam: She’s similar to Mike. She has a good relationship with her parents, but is very independent as well. She mentioned the trip to them so they’d know where she was, and they were like “okay,” not thinking much more of it.

5. the stupidest part of LO is if rachel actually read the eros and psyche myth she'd realize its actually a priestess to apollo (who in turn is basically the mouthpiece to apollo himself) who makes psyche and eros get together. hes literally the reason theyre a thing!

6. How many times has Persephone's hair changed in this whole trial arc? I swear it looks like it changes from panel to panel

7.TBH i don't even blame the editor(s) at WT for what a shitshow LO is. Just off what other creators have said the editors only do what they ask of them, so it's up to the creators if they want the editors to help them with the plot, characters, etc. It's pretty well known Rachel cannot stand critique and input so it's very likely her third (?) editor doesn't get to help at all and instead just posts the episodes. It's p safe to bet every issue with LO is literally all on Rachel and her alone.

8. is there any part of this story where persephone actually choses anything? she doesnt get to choose to join the maidens, to stay with artemis, to kill the villagers, to meet hades, to have sex, where she works, where she lives, and now who she tells her trauma to? hera and psyche already took that from her & now hades too. im waiting to see where the consent and agency this story so desperately claims its about will finally show up, because we're heading into year 4 with none of that in sight.

9. I have the horrible feeling, esp with the most recent episodes implying it, that Rachel is going to use Leto as the actual person behind the assault and use it as some hamfisted way to not technically write an important god like Apollo out of the mythology but still give the fans a sort of "justice" in seeing someone suffer. Leto is against Hera too so the fans would extra love to see her sufferr. If we have to see another woman be thrown under the bus in this "feminist" story ill lose it 🤡

10. (FP//) I'm disgusted by the comments. Hades reacts how one should to finding out someone he cares about was sexually assaulted, yet the comments called HIM out for reacting as a normal person and now claiming this "isn't how sexual assault should be handled"? This is the ONLY time it's been handled correctly, yet they got mad at HIM for his reaction? So they were perfectly fine he ripped out a teenager's EYEBALL for taking pap photos, being upset his partner was assaulted is now "toxic"?? wtf??

Virgil could only watch with fear and sadness as Logan sunk out.

The conversation between the group was nowhere near over, but Logan took that second as his time to leave.

In truth, the logical side thought that he should have left earlier. Or, maybe he should’ve never attended the meeting. It’s not like they’d listen anyway.

But Virgil was now more anxious than usual. He was scared, even. This discussion no longer had the embodiment of Thomas’ voice of reason. Logan wasn’t even on Virgil’s side in this discussion (at least, not completely), but he still didn’t want Logan to leave. In Virgil’s past experiences, Logan was usually right. And, him leaving normally made things worse.

Virgil couldn’t help but wonder if Logan’s opinion was the one they should have gone with. Obviously, his was safer, but Logan’s....

The anxious side impatiently waited for the end of the conversation.

When it did eventually end, he immediately sunk out with the explanation of needing to take a nap.

He appeared outside Logan’s door, knocking as soon as it came into view. He had been waiting to be able to speak to the logical side for a while at this point and was done with patience.

Virgil heard someone close a book behind the door. Nothing else, though, so Virgil knocked again.

“Open up, Pocket Protector,” he said impatiently.

“I do not wish to be in the presence of others at this time,” Logan spoke softly.

Virgil rolled his eyes despite his heart cooing at the delicacy of Logan’s voice. “Too bad. As long as you're not like, indecent or anything, I’m coming in.”

Virgil didn’t hear a response to his statement so he swung the door open. His eyes scanned the room until they fell on Logan, humbly sitting at his desk with a book in his lap. His arms rested on top of the paperback novel.

Virgil’s eyes narrowed on the smart side and he made his way over to the well-used desk. He leaned against it, crossing his arms across his chest and giving Logan a stern look.

“Why’d you leave?” Virgil asked.

Logan didn’t meet Virgil’s gaze and didn’t answer immediately.

“I haven’t got all day, nerd,” Virgil said. “It may be refreshing to see your face but I still need a damn good explanation for your departure.”

Logan was surprised by the first half of his final statement, but decided to speak. “You know why.”

“Do I?”

“No one in there cares about me or what I say. They don’t listen-”

“Hey-” Virgil was nowhere near surprised by this statement, but that didn’t mean it didn’t concern him.

“And it’s not like Thomas will do what I suggest anyway.”

“Logan...”

Logan met his gaze, a hard glare in his eyes. Virgil nearly flinched at the intensity.

“Don’t say it isn’t true, because you know it is.”

“It isn’t.”

Logan rolled his eyes.

“It isn’t!” Virgil repeated defiantly. “Everyone in that living room today cares about you.”

“No they don’t,” Logan disagreed, crossing his arms like Virgil. “They rarely acknowledged I said anything, and when they did, they insulted me. If they do care, they don’t show it well.”

Virgil nodded. Logan had a point. “We show it terribly, you’re right. But that doesn’t mean we don’t care about you or want you around.”

“No one noticed my departure.”

“I literally tried to stop you.”

“You’re not everyone, V.”

Virgil couldn’t help the small smile tug at his face. Logan had never called him that before. He liked it very much. It went well with Virgil calling Logan ‘L’.

“I-I’m sorry, the nic-”

“I know I’m not,” Virgil interrupted, continuing the conversation so Logan couldn’t denounce the nickname or swear to never use it again. “But if I care for you, you can’t claim no one cares for you.”

“That may be true, however-”

“I know we’re really bad at showing our care and love for you-”

“Wait, who said anything about love-?”

“I did. As I was saying, we need to get better at showing our care and love for you. I need to get better. I’m sorry for that.”

“Virgil...”

“I know I’ve been mean in the past—threatening, even. I apologize. That time where I threatened you when Thomas first met Remus? I was scared. I was really scared about what might happen if you were to continue. I shouldn’t have said that. I’m sorry.”

Logan stared at Virgil for a long second, surprised and in thought. Virgil was the anxious side—a dark side as well. His actions followed in accordance with his function.

“I accept your apology, Virgil.”

Logan figured that Virgil wasn’t as actively focused on not letting Logan speak as often as the other sides. At least, he was making an effort to do better. Accepting his apology made sense to Logan at that moment.

“Also, I’m sorry if I made it seem like I don’t care about what you say, or that I don’t want to listen. You made some very good points today; you always do. What you say often interests me. I don’t mean to make it seem otherwise.”

Logan nodded. “It’s alright, Virgil.”

“No, it’s not.” Virgil disagreed. “It’s gotten so bad that you don’t think we love you.”

Logan shrugged. “You don’t. It’s okay. Thomas doesn’t need me, anyway. He doesn’t listen to me and he’s not dead yet so that’s clear. I...” Logan trailed off, looking back into Virgil’s eyes. He paused for a minute, frowning. “Why did you come here?”

The question threw Virgil off. “What?”

“Why did you come here?” Logan repeated. “I listened in; you said you were going to nap but instead you came here. No one else did. You could have napped. It was just a normal conversation. Why did you pursue this?”

Virgil stated at him for a long second, thinking of a response. “I don’t like it when you leave. It heightens my anxiety.”

“I apologize that that happens, but I can assure you it makes no difference whether I’m there or not. No one cares. It doesn’t matte-”

“See, Logan? Stop,” Virgil interrupted. “It’s really scary for me when you do things like this.”

“Like what?”

“Like leaving!” Virgil exclaimed. “Like saying you don’t matter when you’re Logic; something so crucial to every human being. Like saying we don’t care, that we don’t love you! Why do you think I came here? You fucking scare me, L! That kind of thinking can convince you to do the most terrible things that I shudder to even think about. I don’t want those lies to take hold of you!”

Logan had a pained look in his eye, torn between telling Virgil to dismiss his fears or apologize for causing them.

“I apologize for scaring you, but you shouldn’t care. Thomas doesn’t-”

“I am done with that excuse!” Virgil said strictly, standing straighter. “You don’t get to use it anymore. I don’t care whether Thomas needs you or not. Why? ‘Cause he does. Whether you or he knows it. But it doesn’t matter to me. You know what does matter to me?”

“What?”

“You. So listen here, Teach,” Virgil said sternly, leaning over him. “The others care about you.”

“No, they-”

“And even if they don’t, I do.” He took a deep breath. “Because of that, you can’t say that no one here cares for you or loves you. You’d have to kill me first, and even then, you have the others.”

“But they-”

“All that matters right now is that I want you to stay in our conversations. I want you to know that you matter, goddammit. You not being there scares me. I value your input and I savor your presence. I want you there. I care about you.”

Logan shook his head. “You shouldn’t.”

“Yes I should!” Virgil pulled Logan to his feet by the tie.

He stared into Logan’s eyes intensely, eyes narrowing and body hunching just a little to get closer to Logan’s face.

“But even if it was true that I shouldn’t, I would,” he continued. “I will get it through your thick, determined skull that you are cared for. And, I will listen to you. I will come to your room every night and you’re gonna tell me about some cool thing you learned, hmm?”

Logan hummed in return, but was still somewhat scared by the angry side in front of him.

“Because I am done panicking over your absences! Okay?”

Logan nodded.

“Now turn on the TV and fucking cuddle me, you loveable bitch.”

Logan could only chuckle at the fact that the words Virgil said varied immensely from his tone. He did as instructed, sitting criss-cross on the bed as he scrolled through Netflix.

He smiled at Virgil as the anxious side trudged over to the bed, looking like he was calming himself down. He sat on the bed, leaning back against the pillows lying against the headboard. He pulled the logical side back from where he was sitting and against his chest. Logan almost squeaked.

“I gotta prove I love you somehow, Pocket Protector,” Virgil grumbled, tightening his hold on the now blushing side.

If someone claims to be an advocate or ally for a cause or community yet people have to constantly be wondering what they’re actually doing to the point of actually having to research then something isn’t adding up. Take Taylor’s feminism for example. In 2014 Taylor made it a big deal to portray herself as a feminist with the girl group and stuff she said in interviews yet it took her until this year to give a woman a full verse on any of her songs while men have constantly been featured in her music, all while she almost exclusively surrounds herself with men and white cishet ones in her creative process. I’m not talking about backup dancers and mv extras. That has gotten better this year with Blake now being director of IBYTAM but the thing is it took her until this year 2021 and she’s been claiming to be a feminist for years. Then with being an lgbtq ally. She makes this huge deal about positioning herself as an ally then puts out a music video and makes herself the center of those pride celebrations. She made so much of the focus on her that randos were wondering if she was signaling that she’s queer. If Taylor is straight she overstepped and rather than being an ally to a marginilized community profited off of them which I think is worse than doing nothing at all. Allyship is consistency, it’s continuously educating yourself and trying to do better and taking you cues from the people you’re trying to advocate for. If you make a misstep and say ok I’m done advocating instead of figuring out where you went wrong and trying to do better then how much did you actually even care to begin with. While I do think Taylor has good intentions I think what would help is her educating herself beyond the surface level, superficial stuff and surrounding herself with people who can help her on that journey and not hinder her. Like look at who she surrounds herself with Lena , an example of peak white feminism and who is problematic and then Todrick Hall, who helped her with YNTCD and as a gay man didn’t have the good sense to tell her not to don a bi flag wig and center the whole mv around herself .That tells me all I need to know about the value of his input. It doesn’t help that he’s also problematic. Your friends and your mentors help inform your ideals and when you look at whose supposedly Taylor’s close friends, rich white cishet men and problematic people, well of course people will wonder about her ideals. No one wants to believe that the artist they love and maybe idolize doesn’t care about the things that affect them. That’s why people are like is she a feminist, does she support BLM, does she support the lgbtq community? Taylor said it best herself the fact that Todrick had to wonder if she’d be okay if she had a gay son meant she was not being clear enough or vocal enough about where she stood on the issue. Imagine Todrick Hall of all people questioning your values, that’s rock bottom right there. Apply that same logic to everything else. People just want to know where she stands, no one wants to be guessing. I hate the excuse that Taylor doesn’t do this or that because of criticism because it says a lot about a person if they continue to advocate even if they misstep and continue even when criticized because if you truly care about an issue you would want to get better and advocate in a way that actually helps and not that just helps your image and bank account.

These are fair points and I just want to add Todrick didn’t help her with the MV really he just got his friends to be in it. A straight white man directed it with Taylor. Like ya. That’s what happened there. She pushed the Todrick involvement but that was PURE pinkwashing lmao he did fuck all he’s an executive producer who made phone calls to friends and had his name slapped on it to avoid her being dragged more than she was.

But also like idk I think her fans and antis are often unfair on her - to use an example, I know where Adele stands on LGBTQ issues. She dedicated a show to the victims of the Orlando shooting. “Y/N!”

The familiar, stern voice of your older brother, Viserys, booming through the hallways, sent chills down your spine. Indeed he was your brother, and essentially the only living family you had left, as the both of you were the only existing members of your dying house, house Targaryen, and yet it was he who frightened you the most. You had grown to understand, that he was a man of bad character: he was never mindful of you, never considerate of your feelings nor your worth, was too invasive and extremely controlling…To the point where he made the sole decision to arrange you for marriage: without a single word from you, or any sort of input, you’d become a bride to be and there simply was no way of arguing your way out.

“I promised him a wife, and he promised me an army, a crown and the throne. He promised us a position in the sanctuary. You know that since we lost our rule, our reign and all our treasures we can’t buy our way in. This is our only chance to live, sweet sister. Now, do as I say, for the sake of our family’s legacy…Because Y/n, we are the last Targaryens, the rightful heirs. Do it for the sake of who we are.”

Yet much to your unfortune, your husband had arranged a day to meet you, to see you face to face, for him to make the final judgement as to whether he wanted to marry you or not…Still you had no say in your own future. You hadn’t known much about him nor how he looked, despite knowing that he was in fact a man of wealth, of strength and of great power, from the rumours you’d heard…And today was the day you’d finally meet.

And the only other thing you knew of him, was that of his name…Michael Langdon.  

“There’s our bride to be!” Viserys called, holding what seemed to be a beautiful, silk violet dress. Having interfered your thoughts, of you remiscining the precise moment you’d been told you were to sold off, you hesitantly tore your attention from the serene view of the city, and immediately walked over to Viserys.

“It’s a gift, from the Cooperative...Go on touch it. I want you to wear it for today.”

Mesmerised by the fabric, you instinctively reach your hand out to touch it. Your fingers gently stroking through the dress, satisfied by its smooth texture, amazed by the gesture of the gift, despite not yet meeting your husband to be.

“I need you to be perfect today…Can you do that for me?

“You don’t want to wake the dragon, do you?”

“No” You silently uttered, no more than a whisper. You’d always spoken this way, you simply grew accustomed to being dubious, submitting yourself to fear and fright, enticed by your superiors. To them you were just a pawn.

Dissonant sounds of chattering, and the whistling of the light breeze was all that filled the silence and the tension. You both awaited for Michael and his companions to arrive, standing in between behind your Viserys and you your landlord, Illyrio Mopatis.

“Where is he?” Viserys questioned, sensing his growing frustration as his impatience as per usual ran thin all too quickly.

“The Cooperative are not known for their punctuality.”

All to coincidentally, the distant sound of hooves stomping against the solid concrete ground followed by the heavy wheels of a carriage being pulled grew louder, and much more closer. You felt your body tense, by the second, the inevitability of this arrangement and the unpredictability of its outcome began taking its toll on you.

Many times before, you’d tried convincing yourself that this situation in its entirety was all simply a dream, that it was all just a nightmare far to vivid for you to awake. Yet once the black carriage had come into view, trying best to pinch yourself on the arm, thinking that would do the trick, you knew better than to remain in denial. This was happening, and there was no way of escaping it.

When the horses stood afront of you all, the carriage coming to a halt behind, instantly you felt your heart leaping from your chest, this gut-wrench feeling wavering through your body.

As its door swung open, 3 men each walked out, all wearing similar black suits which you felt instinctively couldn’t have been Michael, with a tiny, middle-aged woman, with short black hair yet again in a similar black suit exit through: in pairs each standing on either side of the carriage.

Finally, there he stood.

The least to say, you were breath taken: he was gorgeous. Wearing a red, velvet suit, luscious, long golden hair flowing just past his broad shoulders, with a towering height compared to the rest, his eyes this light blue colour that were ever so piercing, yet ever so mesmerising. His features all too accentuated, exemplified his age, his maturity you felt.

“Welcome, my honoured guests! May I present to you, Viserys of House Targaryen, the third of his name, the rightful king of the Andals and the first men. And his sister, Y/N of House Targaryen.”

Before your thoughts could roam any further, you’d remembered that Illyrio insisted you walked down and greet your fellow and yet potential husband to be. Out of respect that you assumed was the reason for this, although Illyrio simply clarified, that Michael was a man not to be taken lightly, and was definitely not to be kept waiting. So, before you had the chance to even speak a word to him, you were certain you did not at all want to upset him and began to gradually walk, as Illyrio continued greeting his guests.

Instantly you felt your body being aggressively pulled, your arm tugged back as Viserys held on, preventing you from walking down the steps to greet Michael. Your eyes were fixated on him, just as his were when he exited the carriage: you felt giddy, yet still most fearful. A part of you wanted him to say no, in that way you’d have your freedom for now, until perhaps Viserys struck up another bargain with a powerful figure. Yet for now, your fate was held in the hands of a complete stranger.

“Do you see his stature and those fellow companions?  Michael Langdon has never been defeated, in anything. He gets what he wants, when he wants. He’s the Antichrist of course, one of the most influential people alive…And you will be his Queen.”

The whisper of his words, left you senseless, paralysed by fear. You were potentially going to wed a monster, or worse you were currently face to face with him. You’d never felt this terrified ever, not even Viserys startled you this much.

“Come forward my dear” Illyrio had shouted, his eyes widening with impatience, as he gestured you to walk…It seemed you had kept them waiting.

You felt your breath hitch in your throat, you mind trying hard to comprehend the news that Michael was essentially the son of Satan… How was it even possible? Surely he was just pure evil, worse than Viserys, and you’d believed no one could have ever been more worse than him…

Walking down the final step, coming face to face with Michael: you were much shorter than him. His towering figure overlooking you, every inch of your body exposed for him to see, for him to torment. The dress was no help either… It’s silk fabric was ever so thin, that your nipples were on display for all to see, the breeze hardening them, causing them to look perkier than usual. The fabric tight, hugging your body, just enough to reveal your curves: your eyes still locked on his, watching him examining you, those piercing blue eyes travelling up and down your body. Stepping forward, just inches apart, he began circling you: like a predator hungry for its prey, you felt helpless, before returning to his original position.

Hesitantly, tearing his gaze apart from you, to Illyrio, giving him a swift nod of assurance, did he only then return to seat himself in the carriage. His companions following behind shortly, the horses continued riding on.

Puzzled you were, though a part of you had an inkling, knowing most likely what his decision had been.

“Where is he going?” Viserys shouted, his voice drenched in confusion as he hastily ran to stand beside Illyrio, wanting answers.

“The ceremony is over.”

“Well, he didn’t say anything. Did he like her?”

“Trust me, your Grace, if he didn’t like her, we’d know…”

Days had passed since you last saw Michael, since you’d last spent your time as a ‘free’ woman. Today was the wedding…

According to the words of your servants, as news travelled immensely fast, Michael insisted on having the wedding immediately: just as Illyrio said, he wasn’t a man to be kept waiting.

You were assisted in wearing this beautiful, white gown. Similar to the silk one you’d worn to your first meeting with Michael, one he had also gifted and insisted that you wear. Perhaps for sentimental value, you’d hope, searching for a bit of good in him, knowing well it probably wasn’t a natural occurrence of his.

Now you sat beside him, ever so still, ever so silently. Not much to your surprise, he looked as handsome as ever. Wearing a similar velvet suit, more maroon than before, with a long black coat, and red leather clothes, you both contrasted with the other yet still looked as though you both synchronised with one another. His hair still looked just as luscious the first time, he looked impeccable.

The ceremony was unique, held outdoors, in a private venue, overlooking the sea, with many esteemed guests that had been invited, all that you had not known. Many wore silver masks, or masquerades that completely hid their identities: perhaps it was the way of the Cooperative. All of whom were in debt to Michael. Yet it frightened you still.

The giving and receiving of gifts had began, as you sat beside your husband. Still the both of you hadn’t said a word to one another: Michael having many times tried to spark a conversation though was always interrupted by his guests coming to congratulate their ‘Lord’ on the marriage. And now, you felt at any moment, he try again, although you’ been to distracted by the most unusual, most shocking of gifts. One of the gifts you’d been most intrigued about, one that you felt ignited a feeling within you that you’d never felt before, the moment they had been laid in front of you…Dragon eggs, three of them in fact, just like the sigil of your house. Gifted by Michael himself, “from the Shadow Lands beyond Asshai…frozen in time.” Lifting one up, holding it in your bare hands, you felt empowered, like you never had before.

“My gift to you.”

“Th-Thank you” You stuttered, still staring at the egg grasped in your hand, observing its every fine detail.

Although, soon following them, laid before you two, the hissing sounds of a pit of snakes had startled your attention. Lowering the egg, returning it to its casket, looking over towards the snakes in complete fright, it was perhaps the most bizarre of all the gifts, yet you knew precisely of its significance to Michael. Despite not having had a proper, consistent education, having been on the run for so long, you were familiar with the traditions of the gods. Sneakily diverting your attention unto Michael, you’d noticed a small smirk growing on his face. Almost, as though it had been instinctively, as though he felt your eyes on him, he turned towards you, shooting you a heartfelt smile, that you immediately thought was a simple act of deceit. Immediately you’d pretended you hadn’t even seen him at all, and looked onwards towards the crowd of guests, dining, dancing and chattering away. It was your wedding yet a part of you felt like a complete foreigner.

“I’m sorry about before, having left you in the dark, you not knowing what was to come. I was simply just savouring the moment till I foun the best possible moment we could talk...Privately.”

His words interfered with your thoughts and growing concerns, yet he hadn’t startled you as you’d predicted. His tone was sincere, it felt soothing to hear.

“T-That’s alright, I understand, my Lord.”

“Michael, just call me Michael, Y/N. Please, I insist, since we’re bounded together for life and death.”

Nodding to his instruction, you wanted nothing more than to sit in silence, hoping that your shy behaviour would simply do the trick…Wrong.

“You look beautiful, can’t help but feel incredibly lucky” He interrupted, his words triggering you to instantly snap your head in his direction. It definitely wasn’t something you’d been expecting to hear, a compliment escaping his lips…Outrageous you thought, yet optimism ignited within you.

“Th-Thank you, Michael.”

A small smile brewing on your face, wanting to reassure to him that you were most thankful for his kind words, or perhaps for this marriage…You didn’t want to upset him in anyway possible, that may have shown his true colours. This Michael would do for now.

“The ceremony should be coming to an end soon. If you want we could just leave now? Our time perhaps could be spent more wisely, getting to know one another, than with these people.”

Instantly, he stood himself from his seat, his long hair flowing perfectly in time with the breeze. His hand reaching out to you, waiting for you to take it, and without any further hesitation, a part of you agreeing to his words willingly, you took it.

You felt yourself being pulled with ease, as he stood awaiting for you to ensure your dress was perfectly placed, before you looked up at him, nodding to signal that you were prepared.

“Thank you honoured guests, for joining us on this special evening. But I must inform you all that Y/N and I will be leaving now.”

“Hail Satan!” The crowd roared in unison, cheering to their Lord, as you both walked through the crowd, Michael leading the way as his hand continued to hold yours, gripping you tightly, as though to not lose you. You felt completely intimidated, feeling the stares of his followers burning through your skin, despite not actually witnessing their faces, you simply knew.

Finally having reached a breach in the crowd: you noticed Michael standing in front of the black carriage, he’d arrived with initially.

Opening the door, waiting by its side, just as you were about to enter, you felt his hand gripping your arm gently, as though not wanting to cause you pain, though wanting to stop you from entering. Gazing up at him, despite the watchful crowd, you felt the intimacy between you two growing immensely, and a part of you, as though instinct, wanting nothing more than to kiss. Just as though he’d read your thoughts, he began to edge closer to you, feeling his hands grip around your waist, pulling your body closer towards his chest, as your hands gripped his large biceps.

The feeling of his lips crushing down against yours, giving yourself into his affection, most willingly felt right and pure. His lips slightly parting, feeling a small smirk growing on his face as you looked up to find it was indeed a smile, he utters:

“My angel.”

Omg so we have this new manager at my work. He’s been here since July but one of the other managers (the one I worked mostly with) quit a little over one month ago and so the new guy took over his projects and I have been working almost exclusively with him ever since.

Idk what his job was before this but I can’t imagine it involved a lot of teamwork and project management/delegation because this guy just constantly does stuff without telling me what or why which is a big issue because then either I miss a whole lot or we end up working on the same thing and obviously that messes things up because not only is it inefficient but then we also have to take time to reconcile the differences between the documents.

He also treats me like an intern, constantly asking me to do little tasks while he hogs the other tasks (still a mystery because he never shares what he’s working on or what his game plan is). And willl just message me here and there and leave out important details when necessary and add superfuous details when it’s not. That last thing really gets to me, every time he adds super obvious instructions, I feel insulted, as if I wouldn’t know. Here’s an actual example of something that happened today:

Ex not enough detail Manager: Please calculate a growth rate for me from 2015-2019

Me: Okay. The growth rate of what?

*radio silence* 

I literally got no answer from him even after asking him a second time so I spent way too much time calculating multiple growth rates hoping that one of them was the one he was looking for.

Ex insulting amount of detail Manager: Will you double check and make sure the GDP numbers we used are the most recent? I think they might have released the second quarter for this year

Me: Ok, one sec

Manager: The GDP for Canada

Manager: For this year, so 1st and 2nd quarter

Also, I have told him multiple times that I’m a hardcore planner. I am constantly thinking about my to-do list, updating it, prioritizing things, etc. I have a hard time working if I don’t have a sense for what is most important, how long it will take and when is it needed. Plenty of this information I can fill in myself but not all of it and so I ask him all the time if he has a game plan, or if he has an idea for a deadline for this or that, and nothing. I told him that I understand if he doesn’t work that way, but as often as possible if he could try and give me even the roughest estimates when asked, I will be able to work so much better. And he hasn’t done that at all.

Finally, he can absolutely not take criticism. And not only am I very good at giving criticism in a constructive, non judgemental and positive way, a lot of what I have to say is regarding how we do things at the company so it’s more of training/onboarding than anything else. One time we received feedback from the boss, I hadn’t seen the final version of the document my manager handed in, and stylistically it was rough. The feedback didn’t mention the formatting, however, I immediately reached out to my manager and told him that I would take the first pass at the feedback since I would also need to work on the formatting. Then I told him that generally, anything we hand in to the boss has to be “client ready” i.e. formatting has to be perfect, that way, the boss only has to look over the content and if there’s little to change, he can do that right away and send it off. My manager should have said “oh that’s right, thanks for reminding me,” or “Oh I didn’t realize, thanks for letting me know!” Instead, he vehemently defended himself (despite me never commenting negatively on his work or his choices) told me that it shouldn’t matter because it was not a final report and that who cares because the content was all there, looks don’t matter. I calmly told him that it takes a few months to get used to our formatting and that for the time being I would look over all his documents before handing them in to double check the formatting, something that others did for me when I started. I told him that eventually, he’d get used to it and would start to get the formatting done while creating content but until then, I’m here to help. He didn’t respond....

On multiple occasions with me, or other people, when given advice he immediately goes on the defensive, refuses to see things from our point of view and reiterates that he is smart and has experience. It’s exhausting. Today, I lost my cool a little bit and I told him honestly that his tendancy to be closed to advice, to share as little as possible with me and to constantly insist on his own work as being the last word and that I should always just do exactly as he tells me and never stray; that that gives me the impression that he doesn’t value my advice or my intuition. Whether that’s the case or not, that it how it comes off. I told him that I trust his input, but that even though he holds a higher position than I do, he should never discount my input. We are a team, we are supposed to collaborate, I will give him the last word but that does not mean that mine are of no value. 

I’ll probably end up talking to him again, and also our boss....evaluations are coming up. 

Anyway so that’s been my life for the past month and a half. This manager honestly makes me want to quit but I’m going to stick with it because there’s a possibility that things will change once we’re done with this stupid project that he and I are on together.
