if you're wondering why I kind of abandoned this blog, there's several reasons (fandom just doesn't feel fun anymore, I'm trying to cut back on screen time, I've been feeling like my faith is in contradiction to what I see/read/interact with on here is for years and years now) but the final straw has been what I see on my dash every day about Israel/Palestine.
I keep seeing people I used to interact with and used to like now peddling conspiracy theories, debunked claims, inflammatory headlines, and even bloodthirsty rhetoric with tens of thousands of notes (when corrections of those posts get ~500 notes at best), and reacting to nuanced conversations like they're calls for hatred, all while turning a blind eye to the very literal vicious hatred or sheer ignorance in many of those big posts. The level of black-and-white thinking is so strong that we are wayyyy past 'us-vs-them,' we're in the kind of discourse where even 'know thy enemy' (being interested in understanding the opposing arguments even just so you can dismantle them) is considered hatred - people can't be bothered to know what they're arguing for or against, nothing short of plugging your ears and screaming for the death of the Bad People is enough. This is a wave of just about the most hypocritical, callous and uninformed 'activism' this website has ever been guilty of and it's too much. I'm done with this.
And yes, this is about antisemitism. You can all shout 'not antisemitic, just anti-zionist' all day long but you have done jack shit to prove you don't hate Jews beside chanting 'punch a nazi' in the same breath you use KKK slurs and cheer for groups that have 'curse the Jews' in their slogan. I trust none of you anymore.

Quick question do you hate Israel cause you’re saying that the indian anon is racist? Aren’t you also guilty since you’re condemning Israel which includes innocent people and defending Palestine? I get and feel pity at the injustice that the people of Palestine are experiencing right now… slaughtering of children and women but it doesn’t mean that Israel hasn’t suffered. Sorry that this may come negative but I just am tired to see people hating on all of Israel and invalidate their suffering because at the end of the day both nations have lost lives, children died, both sides loses. I blame both HAMAS and the corrupt and Xenophobic politicians of Israel that took advantage.
*sigh* I hope you don't take it too badly.... but you're so stupid. And ignorant. And stupid a couple more times.
I'm not even gonna try to defend myself against your false accusations, or even argue because I'm so dead tired of yall trying to think that there's ANYWAY to defend Israel rn when IDF is literally killing children, bombing hospitals, SNIPING KIDS AND ELDERLY.
Anyone who still thinks what Israel government is doing to Palestine because of its "right to defend itself/vengeance against HaMas" bullshit, yall do realise that if they can do it to Palestine in front of the ENTIRE WORLD, you bet your ass they can do it to you as well. You think they won't kill your kids, wipe out the existence of your entire families, make fucking tiktoks over your demise, ruins and dead?
Do you have any idea how idiotic you sound when you say "well, Israel suffered (whether you're referring to Holocaust or recently), um so Palestine should also suffer"?? By your logic, should we let all hell break lose and let the entire world go for ww3 because pretty much every country has suffered at one point or another.
What Israel government and the majority of its own people doing to Palestine is so bad is because Israel has suffered a genocide... and yet are committing one, at a much faster and worse rate??????

SxF Chapter 91: Perspective, History, Empathy
Let me start by saying that I didn't think this chapter would make me so emotional. Was it the same for you?
A small side character like Millie, who we saw only as one of Yor's annoying co-workers, turned out to have a very sad backstory and gave us a glimpse of how things are for young people in Ostania.
Tumblr media
This chapter talks a lot about people understanding and misunderstanding each other. Millie was just talking about her own experience and feelings, she was explaining why it was so difficult for her to help during an event like this, and that lady felt personally attacked because she saw things from her own point of view and her sufferings.
In no way the story discards any of those ladies' sufferings; what they went through during the war was very difficult, I'm sure. Nevertheless, comparing their sufferings and demanding Millie to act the same way just because they were able to do it, it's not right.
Tumblr media
They both had different experiences because their circumstances were different, so they face life in their own way. That's exactly Yor's point.
Here, Yor demonstrates her best quality (and one of the many reasons why her husband fell in love with her): Emotional strength.
I've said it before and I'll say it again; Yor is a very emotionally intelligent character. The way she stood up for Millie displayed all her emotional strength. She called out that woman in such a smart way!! She wasn't rude but her words were true and very wise.
Tumblr media
One of the most important things Yor mentions is that we cannot bear the same load because we're different. And I couldn't agree more👏
Tumblr media
Also, if we take it as a metaphor, Yor is such a strong person because she carried a very heavy load: as a child and an orphan, she had to take care of her brother. Because of this, a naturally kind person like her had to learn to murder in order to survive.
Tumblr media
It was a beautiful chapter. On top of everything, we learned a few important things:
1.Yor did lose her parents during the war and because of the war.
2.Donovan Desmond did NOT start the war. But plenty of young people like Millie don't know that, so it's possible that since he was Prime Minister during most of the war, he gets blamed for starting it.
3.Donovan Desmond is hated by many. That's probably the reason why he's no longer in office. And it also wouldn't be surprising that the majority of people in Ostania who voted against him want to move on from the war.
3.Melinda still wears her wedding ring and, even though she's separated from her husband, she still counts him as an important person for her. I guess, you can hate a person's actions and opinions, hate what they have become, but care about them at the same time...their marriage is complicated.
4.Not only Yor and Twilight fear the SSS because of their jobs. The general population do too because they know rich and powerful people can make them disappear regardless whether they are spies or not. That means arrests and disappearences of innocent people are common.
Tumblr media
5.There was a repression during war time. This means the state controls and restricts certain rights of its citizens. When war happens, the state may determine it's necessary to protect their country and citizens. Chances are that policing of others started then and Ostanians got used to living like that.
Tumblr media
And now some questions:
Was Melinda being sincere? In my opinion yes (for the most part). Melinda is no longer campaigning for her husband. In fact, she's going there incognito. Since her husband is no longer the Prime Minister and they don't have any elections to win, she doesn't have to support this types of events. If you think about it, once a politician retires from the public eye, their spouse generally goes back to their normal life.
Something that caught my attention was that it was mentioned Melinda has a lot of enemies; probably because her husband has a lot of enemies too. If that's the case, it would be easier for Melinda to move abroad, where she could have a care-free life, yet, she has chosen to stay in Ostania. Why?
Melinda is still a very mysterious character. We don't know her plans or intentions. We don't know why she separated from her husband. My only guess is that she's suffered a great deal and that's why she's able to empathize with Millie, even though their experiences are different.
What do you think?
Bonus (to end on a light note):
Tumblr media
This is the Sxf when we see Yor 😄

I went into Ruth expecting a dreary read. How could a Victorian "fallen woman" story be anything other than dark and depressing? So I was shocked right from the beginning to find a sweet, gentle, romantic story. The dressmaker's apprentice who sits in the coldest, darkest part of the workroom because that's where there's a panel painted with flowers that remind her of her country home? How could I not adopt her as a favorite character? Ruth's innocent, romantic outlook on life gave us some beautiful descriptions of the scenery of both city and countryside, and my imagination went on overdrive to create very vivid images of the story. Even the love story, which we know is going to go very wrong, starts out sweet, with a kind, charming love interest who only shows flashes of just how wrong his character is going to go.
Even after Ruth's fall, the story is so gentle, putting Ruth among kind people who are willing to risk and sacrifice a lot to help her. And then the story gets almost too gentle--after some initial struggles with depression, Ruth resolves to bear her troubles patiently and work toward virtue, and her sweet, too-innocent character gets flattened out into someone who's just Good. Life just goes on, with things generally going well, and every potential turn toward drama results in someone deciding to be reasonable, which can make the story drag.
But, in a story like this, the lack of drama becomes the plot twist! It is refreshing to see characters who don't always jump to the worst conclusion or take the worst action, who pause and consider the whole story and act like decent human beings.
And in the places when the drama does kick in, it's good drama. Painful drama. It's also (especially in the last section of the story) melodrama. There were sections of the book where I was rolling my eyes at the cookie-cutter Victorian path the story was taking--but then there'd be one line or one moment that would just stab me in the chest because of how beautifully specific it was to this story. Just enough to elevate it from something bland to something unique and fascinating.
I often had the thought that this book could be about a third of its length without losing anything--yet it should also be just as long as it was. If the story cut all its repetitive musings about Ruth's regret, and used that space to develop the side characters and and show the plot instead of telling us about it, it would be a much deeper story. I found myself wishing Gaskell had reworked this one later in her career--the way that North and South was a more skillful reworking of the issues explored in Mary Barton. In a way, she sort of did in Wives and Daughters, with the story of Molly the quiet innocent getting tangled up in the intrigues surrounding her headstrong, flirtatious stepsister Cynthia serving as a more layered, personality-flipped version of the story where headstrong, sheltered Jemima gets tangled in the story of quiet, sweet Ruth and her past romantic intrigues. (The doctor at the end of the story also feels like a proto-Mr. Gibson).
Yet I'm still fascinated by the themes specific to this story. Contrary to expectation, this "fallen woman" story isn't about sex, or gender, or how unfairly women are treated (though it does touch on that in the end). It's about sin. It's not questioning why Ruth's behavior is considered a sin or looking to dismantle the society saying that it's a sin. It comes from the Christian perspective of saying that sin is real and harms people--so how are we going to deal with that?
The story shows lots of people struggling with temptation, failing, and dealing with the consequences (or harming others with the consequences). Sin is always a case of either not caring enough to do the more difficult, good thing, or a case of "the ends justify the means", where people rationalize their bad behavior as something necessary in this specific case. It always leads to harm, but some people--and some sins--suffer greater consequences in the eyes of the world, whether or not they deserve it. I wish the story had developed and resolved this theme better in places, but the raw material there is fascinating food for thought.
This book is Gaskell at her preachiest, but also Gaskell at her kindest. It explores deep, difficult issues in a very loving way. As a story, there are ways it could be better, but I'm very glad I read it. Perhaps I'm making a point to be kinder to it because I know it's the type of story that today's readers tend to judge harshly. But amid my issues with the story, there are some lovely images, some great messages, and some wonderful characters that going to be living in my heart for a long time.

My mom was telling me she remembers from her childhood that they were still receiving American condensed milk rations post WWII, and her younger brother was only just a little too young to remember that before it got phased out. They really pushed in public schools at the time to "finish your plate or you don't go home", which now is considered almost fiendish, but at the time, where a country had just barely survived and was doing it's best to avoid mass starvation, it was law that probably saved more than hindered.
It just reminded me personally as someone who is lucky enough to be outside of war that I think we forget how difficult life is even after recovery; the country and its people are still there, still growing and living and trying to get back to a sense of normalcy, even after being exposed to the deepest depths of human cruelty and suffering. War feels like the blade that keeps cutting away, even after it's over, yet we all have to deal with the consequences of the choices of people who may no longer even be alive anymore. And it's not like my mom is super old either, it was just how things were, especially in rural Japan where a new house on the block was considered a big event.
Recovery simply just doesn't happen overnight, it happens in each generation with what we give and take, and also with what we choose to leave behind. If we only choose to carry the burdens of the past to lay at the feet of the future, expecting them to carry it, where are we going but only towards a future where children will always bear the responsibility of our cruelty and evil? Is this really the path towards a future where we raise up and support the human experience to a much grander scale, where we minimize the suffering of all innocent people and work together towards something better than what we had prior? I want to believe in our vast interconnectedness, people find each other closer than they ever did before on an unprecedented scale and this is what will raise us up as a human race, simply communicating with each other as the necessary step towards real peace... And I really haven't changed my mind, even with everything going on, with the lies, the propaganda, the control of information... People still actively choose not to pass on hate as their sole inheritance, even when hurt beyond understanding, there is deep resolve and courage in those who continue to choose love when the rest of the world permits otherwise.
This ramble really didn't have a purpose in mind, just thoughts rotating in my brain, and I suppose putting clearly to words why I'm grateful as a hafu that both sides of my family chose love when they easily could've blamed each other given the circumstances. And I know some people will always believe and vocalize that my family made the wrong choice in the grand scheme of things, but for me, the simple happiness of being here today, having the time to just exist alongside my husband and my children, is a joy that keeps stoking the fire to a thankful heart.

this is not fiction related. I have been seeing news about the ongoing israel-palestine war. I know its been a while since it blew out on news outlets. I'm surely not a very political person and honestly from a country with so much issues too. But the news is devastating and inhumane. The civilians from both countries are suffering the consequences. Greed of people with power. Its not countries that are at war, its greedy people with power vs those who are in the way of that gain. Its always the civilians and innocent people who doesn't even get to give their cents on the matter who suffer when things dont work out. Im no expert neither have research enough to point fingers.  Regardless, no one should die or get hurt for whatever dispute or gains people are fighting for. I have no where else to put this. I'm sorry if im dropping it here, to you. Its frustrating not being able to do anything for those victims. Except pray this war end soon. For whatever religion, race and differences people has is not an excuse to be choosing sides now. 💔💔
you sound very uneducated on the topic so imma try to say this as nice as possible, there are two sides.
you have the oppressed and the oppressor, and if you don’t choose a side after seeing how israel has completely terrorised palestine then i think you should take a look into your own morals. palestinians don’t get to ‘choose a side’ that is a privilege to YOU which is so pathetic honestly i’m sick of people coming into my inbox thinking it’s a safe place to be ‘not involved’ or ‘not choosing any sides’ when i’ve stated so many times that i hate and will forever hate israel’s and zionist alike. if you’re not educated enough to ‘pick a side’ on a topic where there is clearly a victim and an aggressor idk what to tell you except shut up and keep ur opinion to urself cause it’s so lacking empathy and js sounds like a first world problem that i don’t really give a fuck about😁
this isn’t a governmental issue on both sides, it’s the israeli and us and all the other fuck off govs bombing and murdering innocent civilians of PALESTINE with no place to go. israelis are fucking comfortable on their ass and can easily go ‘im scared lemme move to the us for good🤓’ like genuinely kys.

I’m confused as to why so many people on Tumblr (and elsewhere) see this as situation where you have to pick a side. It’s possible to think that two groups are both doing bad things to innocent people, to varying degrees at various times. The people losing in this conflict are the civilians of *both* countries who are at the whims of their governments and bear the brunt of the poor (and sometimes horrific) decisions made by those governments. This “Good Guys” versus “Bad Guys” mentality is not sufficient for a conflict as long and complicated as this one and, again, the people who will suffer from that mentality are the civilians they claim to be standing up for.
Maybe the reason I like history is that if you follow a story for long enough it gets very hard to define anything that happens as 100% good or bad. The reasons for a war, how a war is fought and how a peace is made can all be - independently - better or worse.
This war is being fought because Hamas took hostages. A lot of hostages. Too many to ignore. And that was a strategically good for them because it gave Israel no options, just dilemmas. But for everyone chanting for a ceasefire, they need to remember that this war didn't need to start, and could be stopped, at any moment by returning those hostages. All this terrible, pointless death is on Hamas' hands. Israel's best hope at this point is to truly root out Hamas, but even then finding peace will be a difficult task.
But that's the proximate cause for the war. There are also bigger wars being fought.
Islamists form the majority of the world's extremists right now. I can name a dozen major Islamist movements happening, and this war unlocked a huge victory in their PR strategy that works better on the Western audience than live beheadings. As long as you make white people feel bad about colonialism, and say the rights words like 'liberate' and 'decolonize', you will be able to manipulate millions of useful idiots to make apologizes on your behalf and support your naked grab for power. Hamas invaded Israel 3 times in the last 8 years, but only now got the attention it craves to stay relevant in the 21st century. I hope everyone really enjoys watching mass murder, suicide bombings and terrorist tactics, because there's plenty more where that comes from and now they know the right words to say to appease you while they do it. Prepare to be amazed just how many ground invasions, property seizures and destruction, kidnappings, mass murders and violent suppressionare actshually acts of liberation resistance that empower freedom-loving indigenous people to resist neocolonial oppression - even if not a shred of that is believable. I'm serious. This is one of those times when peace ceasefire movements are actually creating the perfect conditions for everlasting war.
This is also a non-nuclear nuclear war. The U.S. doesn't normally announce where they have sent its nuclear submarines but it notified the world that it sent 4 of them to the Red Sea in November. It's part of deterrence to have these beasts in undisclosed locations and able to quickly response to any attacks. Move them close and the response in even quicker - a clear message. Eliminating the advantage of a surprise attack really is important in holding off nuclear war because of mutually assured destruction (MAD). One problem with MAD is that it assumes that the attacking party don't want to die which... if you watch even a little jihadist propaganda you might get worried about how the death cult vibes undercut that deterrence. Now... as unmanned rockets get better and smarter and faster without those pesky human pilots, it's raising concerns about whether countries like Iran can develop its nuclear capability. Even if they can build a warhead, delivering it to its destination has always been a limiting factor, this is why the US dropped them from planes in WW2. In this war, Iran is (getting the Houthis as their proxy) testing out their latest weapon developments. The Houthis/Iran tried to attack Israel with a ballistic missile (it didn't have a nuclear warhead but is the kind of missile that could be equipped with one), which prompted Israel to test drive their brand new and unproven missile defence system called Arrow. It shot the Iranian missile out of the sky. This is huge. I can't stress this enough - technically speaking, humanity's first space battle has just been fought and Israel won. This is what Reagan's 'Star Wars' program was all about - essentially stopping a bullet by shooting it with another bullet. Because this favors defence (if your surprise attack might not penetrate the defenses but you still find yourself on the receiving end of a nuclear counter attack - you are less likely to want to strike) much more thoroughly than mere mutually assured destruction. It means an attacker will face the risk of being turned into carbon while their enemy yet survives - not easy for even the most dedicated fanatic to swallow.
On top of that, Israel has also developed a laser beam - as yet untested in this conflict - that could potentially address the ammunition supply and reloading problems that plague air defense systems. To overwhelm Israel's Iron Dome on Oct 7, Hamas fired 3,000 rockets in about 20 minutes. There are simply limitations to how quickly a defence system can target, fire and reload a physical rocket, plus they are disproportionately expensive compared to the homemade rockets that Hamas fires (that didn't cost anything except redirecting international aid that was supposed to be for water pipes and fertilizer, because civilians dying of thirst and hunger doesn't appear to be an issue for Hamas). A laser beam will speed everything up immensely. You see, when the Soviet Union fractured and collapsed, about a million Jews fled to Israel and since Jews are very experienced with the fleeing-the-country routine, they brought with them the greatest of riches - knowledge. Those Jewish scientists and engineers brought the electronic warfare and rocket development capabilities of the Soviets into the development pipeline of western military doctrine. This is a good, good thing not just for the West but for everyone. The war in Ukraine was demonstrating that lifting the fog of war was absolutely deadly - good communication platforms like drones means that targets well behind the front line are in view and within reach of missile and drone attacks. The only way, it seemed, to win a war was a surprise attack because once the defence was mobilized, any ground assault would be pinned down to a stalemate on the battlefield. Effective air defence turns the tables on the effectiveness of that first strike advantage. The odds of human survival have possibly extended beyond my lifetime again, and I'm grateful for that.
This is also a global local war. We've seen interest in the Russia-Ukraine war ebb away as a younger, hotter war emerges. But what about a war between Venezuela and Guayana? If the US gets involved in one, two, is that three different conflicts... can it cope with that? How are Taiwan's defenses going to hold with 1/3 or 1/4 of American military support? Israel doesn't need help of the U.S. to win this conventional war, although the U.S. could potentially help create a winnable peace to follow this, but Iran and its allies would love to drag the U.S. more directly into the conflict. So far, it's resisted.
But I don't know how this conflict evolves, that part of the story is not yet written. I pray for more good, and less bad, to come and hope peace can be found in time.

I can’t believe you are with Israel I am fan of you from 2017 when the war happened with Ukraine i was praying and thinking of you and your country and people because I know the feeling of fear and death from the day i was porn how many people i lost your writing was with me in the dark days i feel betrayed why is no one with us they have been killing us they stole our country I can’t even leave my country their prime minister sent video in twitter bombing us and killing people and no one care
Believe me, I care. Watching Gaza being bombed horrifies and sickens me, to the point where I start wondering if maybe the sudden end of the world is the best outcome for our planet. I'm with the innocent victims regardless of what side they represent, regardless of whether there is a majority or minority of them.
I honestly don't know the details and nuances of the conflict between Israel and Palestine, I just have general information that needs fact-checking, but what I saw the morning of October 7 was terrible. The terrorists who mass-attacked civilians, who raped, tortured, and murdered them, who defiled their bodies while filming it with screams "God is great" are monsters whose actions just brought even more suffering and horror to both sides. I assure you, if I saw Ukrainians gang-rape Russian women while spitting on their broken bodies, I'd be disgusted and appalled, and I'd call them monsters, too.
I'm not supporting Israel as a state or approving of its politics. I'm supporting innocent people who didn't deserve what happened to them - and yes, people on both sides, absolutely. This is a nightmare for everyone.
I don't know what to do. I feel hopeless and depressed. Like I said in the other post, the world is such a beautiful place, but it seems like there are legions of people who just want suffering and war and who don't care about how many others suffer with them.
Please hold on... as much as you can... I'm trying to hold on, too, even though Russia continues to destroy my country. Right now, I see no hope for the future - for anyone, to be honest, but maybe it'll pass. Maybe there are better days ahead. Who knows...

I finally stopped following Marina today. I'm sick and tired of her saying nothing in defense to the innocent people who were raped, kidnapped and murdered Oct 7. She only sympathizes with Gaza and Palestine. Not a single word for the Israeli women who were brutally raped or murdered. Not a word on all the Israeli children slaughtered and burned alive. Not a single word on any of the victims of Oct 7. It's literally everyday she posts about this and not a sympathetic word for Israeli children, women and all who suffered on Oct 7. She's suppose to be a feminist. 🙄 I think I'm done posting about Marina on my page. These are her recent posts. Sexy pictures while defending one side of the war and ignoring the other. No neutrality. Loudly anti-Semitic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am so disappointed by a lot of people this year (who showed their true colors) but none more then Marina.
I understand people have their opinions and whatever, but when your opinion is so grossly wrong...and you insist in that grossly wrong opinion daily...like come on.
I stopped paying attention to Marina. I stopped like a month ago. Her posts on IG was a daily dose of "cease fire" , "save the poor children of Gaza", "help Palestine"...etc. without a single mention of the atrocities Israel went through. Nothing on the Israeli babies placed in ovens and tortured to death. Nothing on bringing home the hostages. Nothing on all the little girls and women who were raped then executed. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Talk about a feminist. Yeah right.
Tumblr media
The same thing goes with Shirley Manson. Not a single thing about what Israeli people have gone through, the horrible rapes, the hostages....all about saving Palestine and Palestinian children. What about Israeli children? Then Shirley goes on a rage when anyone brings up why she leaves out any sympathy for Israel's children.
The weapon here is children. And don't get me wrong, Palestinian children are innocent and as well as victims of Hamas and this war, but ignoring Israel and their children? What about the raped little girls and women? There were teenage girls literally raped and sodomized at that festival ground. Women too. One woman was decapitated and had her breast cut off. This was all on film. Why no sympathy for them? Or the hostages? Some of the young female hostages that were released are finally talking. Many of them were raped by their captors. Any sympathy from Marina or Shirley? No.
That's why if you noticed, Garbage's official IG has lost some followers these past few months. Shirley's the only one posting under the Garbage IG. The other guys are too old to give a shit about social media.
Marina's follower count is stuck in 1 million. It's been like that for the past 2 years. Stagnant, which tells me she doesn't get much follows.
You can smell a closeted antisemitic person just by what they post every damn day.
I remember when Lana signed that cease fire petition. That is all she did and she never promoted it on her social media. I don't agree with that petition at all, but Lana isn't badgering her followers every damn day about saving this country or that or opinionating about the war. That's why I'm still interested in her music.
Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes) posted only one time about saving Palestinian children. That was months ago. That was her only post. She's not badgering people daily. That's why I'm still interested in her music.
I took Marina and Garbage off my music library. I have physical CD's of them I plan on giving away for FREE. Like, these two women are basically dead to me. It saddens me because I was a fan of both for years. I have thousands of posts on my Tumblr site going back to 2011. If I had the time and energy, I would delete them all.
However, I don't have to pay them any mind or support their closeted antisemitic asses anymore.
Tumblr media
On a side note, thank God Lana is no longer friends with Marina.
Marina was the one who fled and stopped following Lana after that Culture essay Lana wrote.
What a blessing it is that Marina isn't loyal to anyone.

Why are you anti-Israel as a Jew? genuine question, I'm just curious as a non-Jewish person bc all my irl Jewish friends are pro-Israel
Okay so normally I don't really,,check my inbox so sorry for the late response anon, but thank you for the genuine curiosity! I'm glad you're coming to the table with an open mind.
I am going to put a disclaimer here, however: Jewish people are not the only people impacted by Israel's actions. We're not even the most impacted. I am going to give my perspective because it was asked for, but my biggest suggestion is to listen to Palestinian voices the most before you draw any conclusions, as they are the real victims in the center of Israel's actions.
As for my opinion, however - quite frankly, my dislike of the Israeli state comes from a few places. Yes, it is true that Jewish people lived in Israel in the past, and yes, it is a holy land - but I genuinely do not believe that the Israeli government has Jewish interests in heart. The common narrative that I've heard in a lot of spaces is that Israel is a safe place should the world turn against us again, but quite frankly...it's unrealistic. Not every Jew in the world can move to Israel. Only the wealthy Jews (and I can tell you, many Jews are not wealthy at all) would be able to flee, and the rest of us would be stuck where we are.
And that would be if Israel was not already filled with Palestinians. A phrase I and other Jews have used is "Not in our name".
The Israeli state is breaking international laws - yes, Hamas has also been condemned for breaking international laws, but the Israeli government is also a state. It is a government. A government that has a history of committing genocide - so much that South Africa is trying to sue them for war crimes.
And, to be frank, and I will admit my language is about to be very harsh - please know my anger is directed at the Israeli government, anon, and not you - but I do not want a fucking genocide in my name. I do not want other peoples to suffer because my people have in the past - Israel is not the answer, fighting real, actual antisemitism is. Making the entire world safe is the answer. I also hate that the government is claiming any criticism of Israel is antisemitic - I've spoken out against antisemitism in the past, consistently. I've written in concerns that people will use criticism of Israel in a way where they simply attack Jewish people, which is absolutely antisemitism, but holding a state responsible for their actions is not bigotry.
And, one more point - I do not think the allies of Israel are the allies of Jews. I can only speak as a US citizen, and not for any other country - but I do not, and have never, believed that my country is an ally of the Jewish people. I am constantly hearing antisemitic conspiracy theories being spread by politicians, and I heard the president claim that Israel would be the only safe place for Jews - supporting another genocidal country over the citizens he's supposed to be protecting, by suggesting the only place we will be safe is far away from America.
So, I don't support Israel. I don't support the murder of innocent Palestinians, the killing of journalists and children. I don't support the removal of people from their homes - and I'm frankly disgusted at those who would imply that I must run from my own home to be safe, because they refuse to be the change to keep my people safe.
I hope I explained my position well, anon. I really appreciate it when people, especially people not in the groups centered in a conversation, try to speak to both sides to at least understand all of the issue - though, don't just listen to me. As I said at the beginning, listen to Palestinian voices, as well - listen to the people living through these horrors. While Jews are centered in the conversation, it's important to remember that there are other victims here, who deserve to be listened to a whole hell of a lot more than me.

Spy x Family #67.1 · Side effects
· · Alert: This contains spoiler · ·
This review is quite long, so prepare for a lot of text xD
Today's chapter was quite daily, funny moments and with a rather dramatic and surprising twist. So, I will begin by giving my opinion and future impressions on the route that Loid Forger/Twilight's life is taking
Anya is growing, but problems too:
Lately I see Endo striving to make Anya's facial expressions more mature. Gone from being more ingenious and taking advantage of the circumstances around them. Agent Starlight Anya is becoming aware of the world around her and in favor of the Mission (as her dad would say) is playing her own cards. Although at first he perceived his mom's encounter with Sy-on Boy's mom as something negative, it turned the issue around:
Tumblr media
Obviously, Anya still retains her nature, unpredictable, adventurous and adorable. But now she understands more the world around her and seeks how to support her dad by longing for the family she has to be preserved
I'm glad to see another side of Damiand. He may be the son of one of the greatest political figures in his country, he may be hateful and conflicted, but deep down he is a vulnerable child like everyone, with his funny moments and full of clumsiness, embarrassing and funny memories… just like anyone else.
Tumblr media
Anya also likes gossip!
I know many people don't like Damiand for being an annoying and capricious child. But they forget it's just a child drawing attention, something he doesn't have from his own parents.
But… but… but.
Everything has consequences
There's one side of the coin Anya's not seeing. We could say Anya is following "the spy's path," just like her dad, Twilight. But she ignores, the collateral damage left by spies.
Twilight has had to manipulate and use many people (some criminals, some innocent) to reach his goals. Leaving damage to those people he has manipulated (as couples he has fallen in love with and abandoned for another moment) We understand that he is a spy, that is what his work is about, using unscrupulous methods.
But Anya and Damiand are children…
Damiand is a victim of all the unfavorable circumstances of his life. Having parents who do not give him the slightest show of affection and attention he needs, living under the shadow of the name Desmond and receiving the crumbs of attention he receives for flattery that superficial people give him. The only ones he has are his friends He knows that all of his classmates and everything he gets is due to the stance his parents have in society, and he is very clear, that people approach him with double intentions and not because they are really genuine people.
Hence his enormous disappointment with Anya
Tumblr media
The reason he feels that attraction to her is because Anya was perhaps the first child to face him. She didn't care who he was, his status or his last name. About to hit him in the face on the first day. She treated him like one more child.
(Anya defended herself from him, although she knows he's on a mission) But for Damiand, Anya was someone who treated him differently.
Damiand likes how authentic Anya is. She is clumsy, naive, distracted, makes moves of a shonen (XD) and wants to approach him (for the mission), while he was falling in love. But realizing that she wants to be around him for his parents represents that he is "just interested" and she is just… one of so many people who's just using it.
It is sad to think that in the future, whether Donovan or Melinda, or both fall for justice and their war plans are real. Damiand's the one who's going to suffer the most. And somehow, Anya is contributing to this.
I know Anya does all this to get the love of her parents, she has suffered a lot, and wants to preserve what little she has managed to get. But that doesn't take away the risk of her accidentally hurting Damiand for the mission. And even though they have a complicated relationship, and they're still kids… she has perceived that Damiand is someone with real and vulnerable feelings
If Anya and Twilight will have to learn about the side effects of these lies "for their mission" they have. Just as lies exist to preserve peace, lies also hurt many innocent people. Is it worth ruining someone's life for a greater good? Maybe if, or maybe not… It's the dark side of a spy's life.
Past with Twilight:
We saw another facet of labor envy. While Yor, who is an unsociable person is mistreated by Camila and her friends, Loid is the opposite
Tumblr media
Someone sociable, kind, loved by all, popular with women and friend of all men. Generating hatred for a resentful man who detests that another person is overcome by having better dowries, and because he is in love with Fiona.
It's great to see another facet of Loid's character. Who in his desire to scale in his work, has built positive relationships in his work to quash suspicions, and in particular, rise from hierarchy. So Loid spends considerable time in the hospital when he's not a spy. It seems confirmed that Loid/Twilight spends considerable time with Fiona/Nightfall every day when they work (This woman counts the seconds she talks to him xDD)
The plan regarding Melinda
I see that as expected Fiona will once again demerit Yor. And well, Twilight just ignores this because really undermining on that subject with her is not like it makes a lot of sense. After all, he is blind to the love nightfall has for him, assuming it is lack of control and desire to excel as a spy. In addition she will always look for a way to demerit/insult Yor to look for a little bend and see if it causes divorce from them. Although Yor almost annihilated her last time
As expected, Twilight is generating a backup plan now that it has a connection with Melinda, but there are points to note:
Tumblr media
I understand that from Twilight's perspective it may sound like a good idea…. but… I think he's ignoring the flaws in this same plan: Yor is not a spy, so she doesn't know she's on a mission. So she's not with Melinda to figure out war plans. That's why he thinks infiltrating Fiona is a good idea…. But, there are details that seem to me to be risky:
The Fiona and Yoru relationship: You don't have to be a genius to know that they don't get along. Yoru is kind but insecure, and Fiona's presence can devastate her, especially in the same environment. Obviously, Fiona doesn't have the slightest chance to be friends with Yor, let alone change her mind, both of which are seen as a threat. Therefore, Fiona will look to make Yor feel bad all the time, she messes with Yor even in front of Loid, being alone is much worse. And Yoru may feel depressed, and jealous to see Loid spend time with her and try and include her more (for the mission)
Assuming Fiona uses a new identity, one that Yoru completely ignores. Even as she tries to sabotage Yor, Nightfall has no self-control when it comes to "competing" for Twilight. And acting with another identity along with Melinda and her friends, she'll try to compete with Yor. Sabotaging the mission and sabotaging Yoru. I know Yoru is perfectly capable of taking care of herself, but she is emotionally very sensitive. She is clearly affected when someone shows up and tries to make her feel insecure, Yoru still doesn't do well with the idea of being friends with Melinda, now that her rival (or officer) gets in the way, complicates the whole thing
Melinda doesn't accept anyone in her group. It was made clear that she never let anyone join her group. All her old friends are from before she was "the first lady." The Yor thing was something special, and although Nightfall is very athletic to be included in a sports game…. I don't know if she reacts like that with anyone… In fact, I think Melinda's interest in Yor is for "something special…" (Whether you have a hidden reason or not)
I know Twilight doesn't know, but… Melinda looks like she's an intelligent woman. And I think she can easily suspect. And if Nightfall approaches, it can trigger all alarms. Besides, Melinda's not the kind of person to "tell everything about her." In fact, the look he gave Yor for the children's issue is very strange.
I don't know if I'm letting myself be blinded by my personal taste, since I love Yoru. But, I think Endo plays with ironies, the more they force themselves to discover the Desmond the more the gap closes. I think Yor, without being a spy, can go a lot further with Melinda than she can get to do Nightfall/Fiona. Although, we will have to wait if in the future this plan is realized or not
Regarding Fiona…
I haven't done a Nightfall analysis (Do you think I should?) But, her feelings for Twilight cause me… a conflict.
On the one hand I don't feel bad about the character, in fact, I don't blame her for being in love with him. No one can control and decide who falls in love or not…. But the way she "demonstrates her love," far from making her grow as a person… makes her look more selfish and exploited… I understand she's used to using tricks to get what she wants (She's a spy) But… sometimes it manages to be painful.
I know that she is good at her job (most of the time), and I see that they have a good relationship as colleagues. Twilight respects and appreciates her, like every teacher who had a pupil, plus they spend time together and help him on his deck as a psychiatrist.
Tumblr media
But most of the time, I feel "sorry for Fiona" and her feelings. And I'll make a personal confession: "I don't like feeling sorry for a character." I like to empathize with them, watch them fall and learn in the process.
But feeling sorry for characters trapped in love triangles, and especially when that relationship has no future, it makes me sad. I feel bad for her every time she feels genuinely bad because Twilight is so blind… but at the same time, I get a little irritation from his insistence (≖_≖ )
[I think like Yoru, it also makes me a little jealous to see her with Twilight. I know he has no romantic interest in Fiona, he sees her as a colleague and companion. But seeing Twilight be so, but so blind, caught up in his denial for accepting his family becomes so frustrating. Especially when these two women melt for him, in front of his own face and he just doesn't find out) (Yoru is not only inexperienced, she feels threatened because she doesn't know what "place" she occupies in Loid (Twilight) She only believes that he appreciates her because she agreed to be a "wife, fake mother." While Fiona is living off a frustrating fantasy, yearned for approval and romantic love she may never get
Sometimes I wish that like the Bond-Man chapter, they all come together as a team and that Twilight gets a good punch in the face, if he stops being blind!!] (ง︡'-'︠)ง (`▿´) 👊
....Sorry, I'm getting off the subject
… I return to the chapter ☜(ˆ▿ˆc)
I love seeing Twilight in his plan to "Make Loid Forger look like a fool." But divine justice makes being a fool, shameful people alike worship him xDDD
Tumblr media
Well, envious sir, I showed up out of nowhere. The world is not fair and kind and attractive subjects end up winning. xDDDD Even Loid can't make himself look bad so… your much less!!!
…. Now, let's talk about what's important…
Tumblr media
I guess I'm not the only one who fell, got back up and fell back when I saw this last panel, right?
First the shopkeeper... and not now the SSS? Twilight is ignoring a lot of things around him (that he doesn't have to know about) Before Fiona warned him, Twilight didn't realize that this guy was hating him... Which is weird, because he usually picks up on hateful looks, and suspicious towards him... Perhaps if he is letting his guard down a bit? Although... well, it's impossible to control everything
What could happen in the future?
I've heard many talk about Yuri showing up and I'll say I agree 100%. It seems likely to me that Yuri finds out about this:
Yuri sees that he is recognized within the SSS for his work hunting down spies and traitors of the country, he has gained recognition very quickly and the appreciation of his bosses.
It is obvious that if Yuri finds out that someone suspects that Loid is a spy, this man is going to go crazy. It's the perfect opportunity to find a divorce pretext for his sister
However, there are no clues and Yuri does not work alone. His closest colleague from the SSS always calls him to calm down and look for evidence. As we have seen in extra chapters about Yuri, they will very surely place microphones, and they will intervene the entire hospital to be able to detect Loid if he does something strange.
Obviously Fiona and Twilight will surely realize they're being watched. So their work as spies will surely be hampered to the extreme having to act totally normal.
Are Yuri and Fiona going to meet? It is very probable. In fact, it would make sense. We are getting closer to the crazy, obsessive and highly unstable of this series.... this is literally a bomb xD
Assuming that Twilight realizes that the SSS, especially Yuri, is watching him like a predator to prey, he will surely have to warn Fiona and if he tells her that he is her brother-in-law (Yor's brother). This woman, in her eagerness to win Twilight's heart and keep Yor Briar away, I think she was looking for a way to protect her identity and keep him from suspicion. Will she directly approach the policeman acting as a simple secretary? Will Yuri approach to inquire into Loid's life?
If Yuri finds out that Fiona hates her sister? Fiona realizes that Yuri hates loid... this is going to get highly explosive... I see those two crazy people in an action battle
Twilight's water is reaching his neck. And I see a lot of Forger side effects happening around him
These episodes are being WAKU WAKU!!!
.
what do you think about it?

The Very Evil Guide on How to Find and Keep Fellow Emotional Manipulators for Mutually Evil Purposes.
Introduction
Friends.
The word conjures up an image of fellow humanoids holding each others hands under a bright sky filled with white clouds and rainbows. Together, they skip upon lush, green fields towards the future, knowing that whatever life throws at them, they will face it together.
Pathetic.
The reality is that these people will throw you under the carriage at the first sign of trouble. When life hands you incriminating evidence of your wrongdoings, despite being perfectly innocent, they will always follow the path of ‘law and order’ and inevitably betray you. The system is not your friend. The system is a method of control. The system is there to keep those at the top in power and they are willing to sacrifice anything and everything of yours to keep it that way.
But that's why you've picked up this book, isn't it? You've realised that the classic way of making ‘friends’ doesn't work for you. It's hard to know who to trust and who to allow into the inner circle of your confidence.
Spoiler: it's nobody.
No. This is the Very Evil Book on How to Find and Keep Fellow Emotional Manipulators for Mutually Evil Purposes. Friends are for people who don't know any better. You want a confidante. A co-conspirator. A Fellow Schemer. Most of all, you want someone who will deny the ‘truth’ that the Good Guys so desperately want you to believe. Someone who will have your back when the going gets tough and who, if they aren't already in jail with you, has already set in motion the plan to break you out for you to live the rest of your days in some other country under the guise of a different persona. Someone who will help you enact your sweet, sweet revenge on those who have wronged you.
Of course, Evil comes in many flavours. Ultimately, it's about doing what you want. To allow and nurture the selfish desires within yourself. How you actually act upon them is up to you.
Some choose to build Constructs of Death without any foresight about how they could be used.
Some choose to wage extreme war upon those who could potentially do harm in order to show off their talent for healing.
Some mix themselves into society to empower it from within, showing them how, together, they have more power than they realise and should they ever join as a group, they could topple any system of government that wishes only to provide ‘security and stability’.
Others, instead, choose not to get involved at all. Preferring to turn a blind eye to the suffering of others or even reap the benefits of being in a position of privilege.
There are many other ways. I'm sure you could think of some yourself. The point being, how you choose to enact your evilness is a personal choice but it is your choice.
In this book, we’ll discuss many issues on how to find your partner(s) in crime.
We will start with how you view yourself. From the insane reason as to why you wanted friends in the first place, to discussing what kind of person you are, before laying out the groundwork of what it actually means to be the villain of your own story and how it differs from being the hero.
Next, we’ll utilise tips and tricks that Emotional Manipulators use and test them on the best subject there is (you) in order to understand how these methods work from both sides.
Finally, we’ll start developing the skills you will need to be the best villain you possibly can be.
Don't forget to destroy all notes you may keep along the journey. We don't want to leave any incriminating evidence for any Heroes to use against you now, do we?

Chapter 16 of Nona the Ninth
So I'm realizing now that these John chapters are occurring during times when Nona falls asleep in the story, so they may be Nona's dreams. But Nona has to describe her dreams to Camilla every morning, and so far she's only talked about dreaming about the pool scene, she doesn't talk about having these dreams about John, so I'm not sure they're actually her dreams, or if there's something going on here where Harrow and Nona are both in the same body and are having different dreams, like what happened in the last book, but I don't know
Tumblr media
I wonder if she had some telepathic sense of Honesty getting all upset on the other side of the door
Tumblr media
Well, I don't think that would really have inconvenienced Ianthe that much, but it would have been inconvenient to actually be down with the crowd during that, so
Tumblr media
So they do think that necromancers are the same walking dead bodies, or that the register the same way to those kinds of tests?
Tumblr media
I was going to wonder why someone would specifically breed a dog to have six legs, but honestly, people specifically breed dogs to have a lot of random features purely to match someone's aesthetic idea of the The Ideal Dog, so sure, I can believe there's a breed of dog in this universe that was bred specifically to have six legs
Tumblr media
It's interesting, because Hot Sauce could totally have let Honesty come with them and also go see the broadcast, but she didn't. I wonder if she sees the other kids as too young, but doesn't see Nona that way even though Nona is a lot more innocent than Honesty and Hot Sauce even specifically told her not to go to the park earlier, when she brought everyone else there except Kevin. Or maybe she just thought she had a better chance of coercing Nona into letting her go or coming with her if Honesty wasn't there?
Tumblr media
I wonder what she means by that
Tumblr media
If this is meant to be from one of the other books somewhere, I wasn't able to find it, and I don't remember it appearing, either. It also doesn't seem to be anywhere else in this book
Tumblr media
So she does seem to know House genuinely, at least a little bit, and doesn't need whatever telepathy thing to understand it, but it's just a broadcast and Ianthe isn't actually there, and she doesn't mention having trouble again after this. Maybe there is something about seeing someone that ties into this power somehow? But the way Nona describes it doesn't really make sense without something supernatural happening
Tumblr media
I wonder what kind of history New Rho has that there are 17 official languages. The only two real countries with more than 11 official languages are Bolivia and India, Bolivia having that number due to officially recognizing a large number of indigenous languages, and India having that many because there are like 700 different languages spoken in India, so only 22 of them being official is actually relatively conservative (and the country with 11 official languages is South Africa, which obviously also has colonial history). But I was under the impression here that most of the linguistic diversity of New Rho was due to people being temporarily resettled from other planets, there's basically no way that those languages would be official languages in this context. So is this then saying that there were 17 widely spoken local languages in New Rho before all the resettlement happened? Or does the fact that it's called New Rho mean that it has some colonial history (I mean, independently from whatever colonial history it has with the Nine Houses), and therefore was in the same situation as Bolivia and South Africa? If there are any indigenous people in this city, Nona hasn't made any comment about it
Earlier, it seemed like We Suffer thought that the negotiator was coming to negotiate with BOE specifically, Ianthe, or, I guess, John, seems willing to negotiate only with the local government, and even then, this agreement that she is suggesting seems to be designed to be broken instantly so that John can then do whatever he wants as punishment for that. Was there actually planned to be negotiation with BOE? Or does John not yet know what happened to the Sixth House and BOE are hoping they can force a negotiation with that info?
I also have to wonder how she's avoiding issues caused by the resurrection beast. I don't think it's someone pretending to be Ianthe, because she has the right eyes, and there isn't realistically anyone else who could have arrived in the shuttle
Tumblr media
That's very much not a description of Ianthe's hair. Is she wearing a wig? Did she create different hair for herself with necromancy? The idea that Ianthe's natural hair was not aesthetically pleasing enough for this broadcast and had to be replaced is actually quite funny
Tumblr media
I wonder if this is like, they know about the Sixth House and are hoping that they'll just be able to show up somehow, or if they know they left of their own volition and think they might be here for some reason but don't know that they're kind of being held hostage by BOE, or if this is just a general kind of thing they say when trying to reclaim old territory
Tumblr media
So Ianthe has adopted Cytherea's name scheme, I guess
I still have no idea how they use European royal titles in the Nine Houses. Before becoming a Lyctor, Ianthe was a princess, now she is a prince. What is the difference between a prince and a princess in this context? Certainly not gender. Is prince a higher title than princess? It's not clear
Tumblr media
Is... is she still dead? Did John not actually resurrect her? Are we doing more Weekend at Bernie's where he's just parading around her never-rotting corpse and being like, yo, what's up, this is my daughter?
Or maybe, if she's actually alive because it's not possible for her to die, but just still missing her soul, John can't actually do anything about that?
Anyway, I'm sure if Gideon were actually alive she would have things to say here, and those things would probably be "what the fuck Ianthe" and she therefore wouldn't be part of the broadcast
Anyway anyway, I guess that's what happened to Gideon's body. I imagine John probably sees other people having possession of it as a national security risk at the very least, since it can be used to undo his blood wards
Tumblr media
Confirmed I guess that John just doesn't have any clue that Gaius and Gaia are not in fact related
Apparently Kiriona is actually just the Maori equivalent of "Gideon", I can see how that would work out if there's no /g d/ and r is a rolled r or a tap. But you'd think that if John wanted to preserve the Maori language in some way he would have actually done that 10,000 years ago instead of, I guess we're supposed to take away, having everyone speak NZ English?
Also, John seems to be labeling her his heir, which is odd even aside from the fact that she doesn't seem to be alive, since John hasn't had an heir for 10,000 years and probably doesn't expect to ever die. I guess maybe after two people tried to kill him and one almost succeeded in the last book he is starting to feel a little more mortal? Only, to actually be his heir, I think Gideon has to be alive first
Tumblr media
So, as previously mentioned, there have so far been zero towers in this story, so I can't imagine what the significance of "Tower Prince" is
Tumblr media
I do not know what the poison cats are a reference to
Tumblr media
I mean, doesn't Hot Sauce have history fighting necromancers? Whatever else she thinks they are, she should definitely know they're real
I couldn't make much of the conversation with the Angel in the car, she seems probably involved in some stuff, but exactly what stuff, it's not clear. But then
Tumblr media
So when she said she was "sort of" a doctor, did she mean she was a vet?
Tumblr media
Honestly, at this point I think it's equally likely (maybe more likely!) that this was meant in "multiple people in the same body" sense rather than the "gender-neutral" sense. But it really should be "them" in this context, the way that "her" in the previous paragraph in the same context is also a object pronoun, and the way that we usually say "it is me" and not "it is I" like you're fucking Dracula or something
Tumblr media
Wouldn't Camilla have gone out to pick up Nona and figure out what happened to Pyrrha before this? I can understand if she didn't want to go out when the broadcast was happening, but I don't get the impression that the Building is that far from the school - if Pyrrha left before noon to get Nona and then didn't come back for a couple hours, wouldn't Camilla go looking for her at that point?
But I wonder if she somehow wound up at the barracks and is now being asked to give the Emperor's Evidence, whatever that is

ugh, okay I really didn't want to say anything about the Isrela/Palestine conflict but it's really breaking my heart and my family is always talking about it so if you're easily offended and going to leave hate, just leave.
THIS IS A COMPLICATED ISSUE(and also not)
This conflict has been going on for hundreds of years, like it dates back to Roman times or something. Both sides have done good and bad.
Israel was created after THE HOLOCAUST to give Jews a country to go to. The U.N. took land from the Gaza Strip to give to them. The Palestinian people understandably got upset that their land was taken away. They responded with violence, and Isreal fought back.
Israel took a lot of unnecessary land from the Palestinians. I do not support this. but Israel wants land. Hammas want to kill all the Jews and get rid of Israel entirely. Palestine people can live in Israel just fine. Jewish/Israeli people are persecuted in Gaza(also Palestine isn't even a place, more of a people).
Hammas launched a HUGE missile strike on Israel. They killed, kidnapped, and raped innocent people. I'm not saying it was unprovoked but it was violent and terrible. Israel is just responding to the equivalent of their 9-11.
Israel should not have cut off their water and electricity. Not at all. That is inhumane and cruel. But I support them fighting back against this attack. Because what does #FreePalestine look like? The Jews just letting themselves die and be attacked until they don't have a country anymore?
A lot of people are saying that Israel wants to commit genocide. I don't think that's true but even if it is, what does Palestine want? DO they not want Israel to not be a country? Just as much as people getting out of Palentine IS AN ISSUE, SO IS WHERE THE JEWS WILL GO IF ISRAEL IS ERASED.
What happened to NEVER FORGET? NEVER AGAIN? I'm not saying that Palestine wants another Holocaust but I've seen videos of people chanting "Gas the Jews! Fuck the Jews!"
Israel has offered Palestine it's own independent state multiple times before, but they denied because they want nothing but the total illimitation of Isreal. Just, what?
Also Hammas kidnapped a bunch of people, and the babies were too much trouble so they LITERALLY BEHEADED ANDYONE UNDER THEY AGE OF 2 AND RECORDED IT AND RELEASED THE TAPE.
And Israel gave warning before their attack, Hammas did not.
I'm pro-Israel, yes, but I do not deny the incredible suffering of the Palestinian people. Innocent people are dying on both sides. This is political but the people are the ones suffering. I hate seeing people who are devoted to either side. No, each side had done wrong. Each side has children dying.
Also, even though I support Israel I don't think all Palestinians are bad people. I'm sure most of them are wonderful and my heart goes out to goes who are suffering. I just don't support violence and genocide.
Help the people not the countries.
Also I fully acknowledge that I don't know everything about this topic and could very well be misinformed or influenced, especially by propaganda or fake news.

wait so are Inko and Hisashi still together in the genie au? It would be really funny if after Izuku was born and Hisashi was wished free, he stayed with Inko. Like Hisashi just going about his daily life but holding a huge grudge against All Might for trapping him inside his lamp all that time. Double so if Izuku is his son.
Hisashi: NEVER trust All Might son, you hear me?
Izuku: Okay dad I know that he impri-
Hisashi: IMPRISIONED me just for the sin of TRYING to find a way to become free, ALL because my human form HAPPENED to go missing. ME, who has singlehandedly been granting the wishes AND helping their countries advancement for CENTURIES with barely a THANK YOU and he decides to LOCK up an innocent genie without so much as PROOF? DON'T tell him you're a genie either. I'll tell you, that big oaf better stay away from you OR ELSE-
Needless to say, if it's a possibility, Izuku is lucky he's allowed to go to the capital at all.
This probably wouldn't be feasible as canon for the au, so I'm just gonna call the the Genie husband headcanon.
Hisashi might see it as a form of "betrayal" from the people of the capital. You mentioned before he took on many identities so as a genie gathering information for hundreds of years he probably ended up as a lot of really smart historical figures over time with his human forms. So that along with the wish granting thing means he's been helping humanity/the one city move along scientifically for generations. But once All Might does the lamp thing? Boom. Gone. You get no more scientific advancement capital :) suffer.
The capital isn't exactly suffering, but it's more than clear they're going through a bit of an advancement stint.
I can imagine a small memorial was put up over Midoriya Hisashi's "death" thanking him for all his inventions and discoveries. Hisashi finds it once and just stares at it for 20 minutes, not sure if he should be flattered or enraged. (It leans more towards enraged after he finds out All Might was one of the people who helped put it together).
If Izuku and Inko live more towards the countryside, Hisashi would most likely take the form of a farmer. Mostly since (if he's like the genie from Aladdin who got freed) Hisashi still has his powers and can make the crops flourish easily. Despite his newfound hatred towards the heroes of the city, he still secretly makes sure the city doesn't fall. If it's dry season and the city hasn't had any water in a while, he'll send some rain over just for a bit.
When he was newly freed, Hisashi ABSOLUTELY wanted to go and get revenge on All Might, but Inko stopped him by pointing out that Izuku might also be found out, and neither of them know what people of the capital really think about knowing genies personally so they keep it secret.
In fact, Izuku might not even know his half heritage until he's about 10 to 12. By then he's already figured out his dad is magic, and mightve even realized how powerful he is. After they sit him down and tell him, he pesters Hisashi about it a lot, but stops when he realizes his dad is growing a bit uncomfortable because of how much it reminded him of when people used to find his lamp and request things.
Izuku realizes that Hisashi truly wants to move on from his genie days. He doesn't mind having the power to make it rain during droughts or make the fire burn long after everyone is asleep, but he needs a good long break from being all powerful. And just being Inko's husband will do that for him.
Hisashi doesn't necessarily agree with Izuku's decision to go to the capital. But he eventually relents under two conditions. One that he better not listen to anything all Might says ("ALWAYS make sure you know both sides of the story" "okay dad...") and Two that he not reveal his half genie origin. Because in this scenario Genies are one of the most powerful things in existence having the ability to make anything happen at someone's request.
Above all I just really like the idea of Hisashi settling down and hiding as a farmer while secretly loathing All Might and being a good father to Izuku. (Because so help him he swears if his son gets hurt they will see the wrath of ancient cosmic powers barreling towards the capital at full speed).
Hah sorry to clog your inbox. I'm gonna call this little spin off the "Genie Husband" one.
They are still together in a sense. I'm thinking of making Hisashi/Afo binds to his lamp a bit different than how most genies work. He was forcefully sealed or cursed to reside in the lamp with little chance to escape, making the requirements for freedom more than a simple wish.
However since Inko did wish for the genie to do as he pleases he can spend short periods of time outside of the lamp before being pulled back in. So he can't spend very long with his family for any extended periods of time, which is why he holds a lot of resentment for All Might. It also takes a while for Afo to confess to Inko that he is her husband, mostly because of shame and guilt for leaving her all alone for so long.
Inko is just happy he is alive and saddened that someone would trap such a kind and loving person.
Izuku rarely sees Hisashi growing up because of the limited time he can spend with them. Thinking that his father is still an explorer when he's away and a simple farmer/caretaker when he is home a few days a month. It isn't until he's older that he is told the truth and uses it as a lesson of not to trust too easily with telling others his heritage. Because others are quick to judge and may entrap him too if they find out.
But that still doesn't stop him from wanting to be a hero and adventurer. However he is more cautious.

Reading your post comparing Ronen posting in support of Israel to supporting the cops during BLM protests, I think something that’s really getting lost from the conversation is that he wasn’t posting in support of Israel or about innocent lives on both sides in response to Israel dropping bombs or in response to Free Palestine protests. These posts were in response to over 1000 Jews being brutally killed in Israel. It’s not some centrist view to acknowledge and mourn that.
Also, the donation fund Ronen had up was supporting medical aid, not for the Israeli government. Caring about people who are living in a country doing shitty things is not the same things as supporting the actions of that country.
I don’t agree with everything he posted and usually would never be out here playing PR for some celebrity, but it’s been a really rough time to be Jewish on the internet and see people focusing their energy on attacking a liberal Jew who posted about Israel after a deadly attack there, one which has been really traumatic for the Jewish community, instead of focusing that vitriol on the people actually supporting Palestinian genocide.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are the posts that really stuck with me, and I think really stuck with a lot of people, and in my opinion it is fair to say that these posts communicate support of Israel in its ongoing occupation of Palestine. If he wants to explain that he didn’t mean that I would listen, but for myself, I’m not going to pretend that these aren’t problematic just because I am a fan of him. I don't want to sort of mince words on either side of this, I'm never going to be someone accusing him of literally calling for genocide because he is very much not doing that but I'm also not willing to pretend it's not valid for people to be upset at what he has said, and upset by his silence in the last few weeks after having so much to say about the killing on one side.
But I agree very strongly with you on everything else you said. I know it's a really horrible time to be Jewish especially on the internet, seeing people dismissing your pain, saying that the citizens Hamas killed had it coming, acting like the internal struggle and resistance within Israel by brave and devoted activists doesn't exist at all. This is exactly where my empathy for his position comes from.
This is a really well written article from a leftist Israeli that I encourage people to read, it explains far better than I ever could the way that Jewish people are suffering right now.
