Jack Harlow x Reader : LATE NIGHT LIVES
After a long day of school meetings and running errands, the kids were showered and in bed. You and Jack had just finished watching a movie and now you were just in bed scrolling through your phone.
You usually don’t do live streams but tonight seemed like a good idea just to get you a little tired.
“Babe don’t say or do anything nasty. I’m going to go live on instagram.” You warn him, as you sit up against the headboard.
“But I wanted to get nasty with you.” He pouts.
You roll your eyes, “See, don’t say anything like that.” you start the live stream and wait for people to join.
“Hi guys, it’s been a while.” You say, looking at the chat. “Oh, I have a story for you guys about something that happened today. So let’s wait for more people to join.”
“What story? What happened today?” Jack asks you, placing his phone on the bedside table.
You smile, shaking your head. “Go back to texting your fans. Let me talk to mine.”
Jack scoffs,“Babe, tell me.”
“You’ll hear it when I tell them, just wait.” You read the chat real quick and laugh, nodding.
He groans, “Let me go get something to drink first.”
“Can you bring me something too please? And not Phocus, I want actual water.”
He turns around quickly gaping at you. “Wow, not you bashing my brand.”
You roll your eyes, “Stop being so dramatic.”
He heads towards the door. “Don’t start the story without me.”
“Then hurry up.” You warn and smirk seeing him run out.
“This is going to be funny you guys.” You turn to your phone and focus on the live and start reading comments.
“Yes he really is so dramatic and unserious.” You laugh. “But that’s my man, and I’m going to stick by him.”
“Okay, I’m back.” He announces and jumps on the bed. “Here.” He hands you a can of Phocus. “We ran out of your water.”
“I know what you’re doing.” You grab the can and pop it open, making sure to take a sip in camera view. “I’m sending Neelam the invoice for this”
“I’m not doing anything.” He smirks, leaning against the headboard.
“Mhmm.” You look down at your phone. “Okay guys, story time.” You smile. “Today I went to get waxed, you know, down there.”
“What kind of story is this?” Jack asks.
“It’s a funny one so don’t interrupt, I’m telling the girlies.”
“Not what I was expecting.” Jack lays down completely on the bed, pulls the covers over his body and grabs his phone.
You roll your eyes. “My usual waxer was out today, so I had to let someone else look down there and wax me. I was shy, but HE made me feel comfortable.”
“HE?!!!!” Jack quickly turns his head towards you, throwing the covers off of him.
“Yes he.” You roll your eyes. “Anyway, he was so gentle, he was so good. I honestly didn’t feel a thing. The way he put the wax, I felt kind of- I don't know, hot?”
“Are you kidding?” He sits up. “Is he gay?”
“Jack, why would I be kidding about getting my kitty waxed? And no, he’s not gay.”
“Y/N, you just said you got horny from it.”
“Don’t put words in my mouth, I said I got hot.” You’re smirking.
“Same thing.”
You read a comment from the chat and nod, “Yes, I’m definitely going back with him. He actually gave me his personal number and he told me he even does housecalls.”
“What the fuck?”
You smile, “Okay guys, I think I’m going to let y’all go. I need to sleep.” You quickly end the live, plug your phone into the charge and place it on your side table.
You lay down and notice Jack is sitting, staring at you. “What?”
“Why didn’t you tell me a guy waxed you, a straight guy at that.”
“Babe, it doesn’t matter. He was doing his job.”
“Yeah but it’s something I would've liked to know.” He mumbled out.
“Baby, are you jealous?”
“It’s not about jealousy, it’s about making sure you’re safe and comfortable.”
“Aww baby.” You push him back so he can lay down and you straddle him. “Didn’t you hear? He was very respectful, and comforting. He rubbed me the right way.” You smirk.
“You’re fucking joking huh?” He looks up at you.
You start laughing “I am.”
Jack quickly takes a hold of your waist and flips you two over so he’s now hovering over you. “That wasn’t funny, I was ready to go on YouTube and learn how to wax so I could do it for you.”
You laugh at that. “No way they show that on YouTube babe.”
“Don’t play with me again, talking about you got hot and he rubbed you the right way, what does that even mean?”
You shrug, “I don’t know, I was just reading the comments and saying them.”
He pinches one of your nipples, “No more going live late at night.”
He kneels between your legs, “Now open these up, let me see if you need waxing or not.”
“Shut up.” You laugh, but do as he says.
“Mhmm, so pretty.” He runs his finger on your bud. “I can definitely wax this myself.”

You were excited to do an Interview with Matt after such a long time. You’d done a couple talk shows spontaneously over the years, but this was formally about a project you were both so enthralled by.
In a way, the mood was different. You were now a married couple who had two beautiful kids, and had been friends for over ten years. Time really flew by.
As the interview began you were sitting next to your husband, a bowl full of papers in front of you.
“I am Matt Smith,” You started, looking at Matt expectantly.
“And I’m Y/N Smith.” He continues, a victorious smile on both of your faces. The multiple failed takes definitely made its way into both of your minds.
“And we’re here to react to your tweets about ‘House of the Dragon’!” You both say in unison, high fiving each other as you let out a laugh.

“We were told you guys many things to say about the show when it's not even out!” Your voice was amused, while Matt looked at you with a small smile.
“The internet is truly surprising” Matt lets out, making you shake your head.
“Okay, so here’s the deal. We’ll both be reading some things you’ve posted, and we’ll react on the spot.”
“No judgment on our side.” You shot Matt a look, “Maybe just a little.”
“Can I go first, please?” You ask, slightly pouting so he would say yes. You knew he could never truly refuse you if you made that face.
“Of course, my love.” The grin on your face at his words was all Matt would ever need in return.
You reach for the bowl and shake it, “So nobody can say we cheated!” You tell the camera, pointing your finger like you would when warning your children about something.
“Nobody’s going to say that now, Y/N.” Your husband says amusedly, finding it adorable that your tendencies as a mother made its way into other moments.
“@/ynmywife says “Whoever casted Y/N as a Targaryen in the show, will have my therapy bills delivered to their house😭” and then there’s a crying emoji.” You then roll the paper and throw it in a basket below the table.
“First off, I’m her husband so she’s not your wife,” Matt points out, jokingly placing his arm around your shoulder to show off his ‘dominance’, “Secondly, I agree with that statement.”
“You don’t even go to therapy!” You exclaim, looking bewildered by his words.
“The point still stands, but seriously, how did being cast feel?” He turns the conversation around, trying to bring back some seriousness, his arms still placed around you.
“It was surreal. I actually hadn’t auditioned to be a Targaryen, but I guess my vibes were those.” You started your answer, “My agent called and said I got the role of Valenya Targaryen, I remember being so shocked but I accepted instantly because I knew the experience would be amazing, and it was!”
“My story for being cast is much more boring compared to yours.” Matt murmurs, a small laugh leaving his lips as he reaches for the next paper in the bowl.
“I’m sure it's not.” You tell him, kissing his cheek.
“@/valyrianbiatch says “Are we gonna talk about how hot Daemon and Valenya look in those teaser pics???” with three question marks, it seems like they really want some answers.”
“We should talk about it more, tell us Matt, how does it feel to be married to such a hot person?” You teasingly say.
“It feels amazing.” Matt responds, as you make an “aw” sound that some of the crew backstage copies. He just places his hands in a way that is supposed to show you off, like he doesn’t need to further explain his answer.
“I think Daemon and Valenya exude this badass energy, which instantly makes them attractive to the eye.” Your words are slightly more serious, trying to actually get the interview somewhat correctly done. But you’re sure the fans will only concentrate on the more unserious bits.
“Plus they’re interpreted by stunning people, what’s not to like about that?”
“Exactly!” You exclaim, taking another paper from the bowl.
“@/dracaryss_ says “It feels illegal to watch HOTD knowing Matt and Y/N were casted as siblings!!” with two exclamation marks at the end.” You read out the paper, playing with it while thinking of a good answer.
“It’s definitely less weird now, the Targaryen family tree really is a circle of incestous people.” Matt answers jokingly.
“I feel like we’ve been in this job long enough to separate our actual lives from fiction, which I feel everyone should be able to do.” You say, looking at Matt after.
“That’s also very vital to the process, and they don’t really behave like siblings so most of the time it wasn’t as awkward.” He ends with a laugh, as you smile in return.
“The show may not be to everyone’s taste, so please be cautious while watching!” While you speak Matt reaches for another paper.
“Let 's see… @/lannisterlions says “And when I faint from the beauty of the Targaryens? Then what?””
“I would recommend some water, some ibuprofen even.” You were being sarcastic, but your voice had a motherly edge to it which made Matt almost melt in his seat.
“I fear they’ll be fainting a lot, they’re the stars of the show.”
“That too.” You agree, chuckling slightly.

You’ve already responded to a couple of tweets, some responses more serious than others in which you’ve just taken the piss out of their silly comments.
“I feel like I’ve answered tweets for a lifetime now.” You let out, your head resting on the shoulder of your husband, his arm wrapped around your waist.
“I know I have.” Matt tells the camera, nodding slightly at his own words.
“It was very fun, though.” You add while smiling.
“We had a blast, thank you for all of the amazing tweets.”
“And don’t forget to tune in every sunday for a new episode of ‘House of the Dragon’ available on HBO.” You end, blowing some kisses to the camera as Matt waves his hand.
The video ends with Matt whispering something inaudible to your ears, making you throw your head back in laughter as the video fades to black.

Chapter 217: Bath, part 2—Cursed Lover: Introduction to the Psychology of Romantic Love 101
Cursed lovey-dovey JJK Sunday!
I know this chapter in specific has had polarizing reactions but I personally loved how unserious it is and I LOVE YOROZU! crazy bitch I love her
There are no coincidences in this world, what is there is hitsuzen 必然. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been re-visiting the Psychology of Romantic Love. So when this chapter dropped with its implications of one-sided love, I couldn’t not write about it.
So just a heads up, in the spirit of chasing after my own love-induced delusions, I went on the usual massive tangent and wrote about LOVE under the cut.
Thing is... and this is just a theory but... love is the most twisted curse of them all.

So anyways...
And yes... this is also a Depth Psychology lecture.
That said...
Welcome to Introduction to the Psychology of Romantic Love 101.
Drunk in love
First, I’m not going to do an in-depth exploration of the Psychology of Romantic love here because I am saving that for a different essay that I am working on. So what you’ll find is more of a brief introduction to this complex subject.
Second, DESPITE the impression you might get from reading this, I am actually a romantic who willingly and perhaps rather foolishly loves/hates to get drunk in love.
Third, music is perhaps one of the best ways to convey something as indescribable such as love. So you’ll find I drop specific lyrics and song titles for reference. Feel free to listen to, skip or ignore.
That said, I’ll also admit that since I started re-visiting the Psychology of Romantic Love, I’ve literally been looking for the right opportunity to drop these two song titles: Lovefool by The Cardigans, and Drunk in Love by Béyonce and her babydaddy, Jay-Z.
And while Lovefool is more appropriate for a one-sided obsession (I think we’ve long since left “crush” territory) such as Yorozu’s...
So I cry and I pray and I beg
Love me love me
Say that you love me
Fool me fool me
Go on and fool me
Love me love me
Pretend that you love me
Leave me leave me
The idea of being drunk in love also applies quite well. In the Psychology of Romantic Love, this is known as “drinking the love potion” by Depth Psychologists.
Boy, I'm drinking, get my brain right
In drinking the love potion, the lover (aka the one doing the loving) is privy to experiencing the magic realms of the heart--the beauty of love itself. This is what is described as the usual symptoms of being in love, like butterflies in your chest or stomach and having an overall dreamy temperament.
The problem with drinking the love potion often lies in the delusions that are inherent to being drunk in love. At their best, these delusions are nothing more than an overall feeling of pleasantness, sort of like seeing the world through rose-colored glasses. But at their worse, these delusions can alter how the lover perceives reality itself.
But don’t take my word for it, when it comes to describing what it’s like to observe someone who is drunk in love from drinking the love potion, Fuel said it best in their song Shimmer:
She dreams a champagne dream
Strawberry surprise
Pink linen on white paper
Lavender and cream
Fields of butterflies
Reality escapes her
What I love most about Yorozu being completely out of touch with reality is that her version of “lavender and cream” and “fields of butterflies” is more akin to destroying 3 villages and writing haiku about the decapitated head of the most handsome man in each of those villages.

Tainted love
Also, can we stop and appreciate how comical this whole page is?
Gege, of course, uses the Sakura trees in full bloom in the panel above (cut off) as well as Sakura blossoms raining down on Yorozu and Sukuna--a trope commonly used to emphasize the ephemeral nature of beauty that can also evoke romantic undertones.
If you’ve ever had the privilege of visiting Japan during Hanami season and gotten to see Sakura blossoms falling, its undeniable how poetic and beautiful such a mundane spectacle is.
But, just as I am exploring the darker side of love in this ramble, you can be sure there is shadow side to the Sakura trees.
What if there was a more sinister reason as to why the cherry blossoms are pink?
Just the way Gege is exploring corrupted and twisted love through Yorozu, In Tokyo Babylon, CLAMP uses cherry blossoms as a corrupted symbol of love--tainted love that corrupts (cue Marilyn Manson’s version of Tainted Love).

From the pain you drive into the heart of me
Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I run from you
This tainted love you've given
That's what I meant when I shared how I would have liked to see what it means for the King of Curses, Sukuna, to “love” or have a one-sided crush. Basically I headcanon Sukuna’s love language is inflicting pain.
But Sukuna isn’t necessarily running from Yorozu because he’s not digging the pain she dishes with her tainted love but more because... well... she’s so delusional she annoys him. I can see why Kenny asked Sukuna why he’d go see her.
But since Yorozu is the one dishing pain with her tainted love, I loved that her love language is basically to die in the name of the Beloved--whether she’s the one who dies or its Sukuna.
In German, liebstod is a word for a kind of love that is so unreal and so Divine, that it can only be achieved in death.
“I want you to be the one to kill me...
I want you to be the one who hurts me...
... as the ultimate expression of my love for you.”

To quote Jungian Analyst, Jim Hollis, “to love the Other, with all the Other’s presumed power to hurt us, requires a substantial amplitude of soul, an enlargement of one’s sense of self”.
Not me using a quote from Dr. Hollis to write about JJK because he talks about the sense of self.
After all, is there a greater form of showing one’s devotion for the Beloved than by baring our bleeding heart and offering it on a silver platter to say “I trust you”? that or maybe I’m just twisted af too. like... is that why I'm still single? bahaha
Absolute love corrupts absolutely.
The Demon Lover
There’s also something to be said about how Yorozu’s tainted love is also a reflection of her psychoemotional development as an individual--which is an interesting thing to say given her vessel is a teenager with a history of childhood neglect and abandonment.
Now, part of what is so comical about Yorozu is that everything from her reactions, her behavior, and her obsession with Sukuna are, quite literally, so infantile.
That’s because Yorozu’s love appears to be stuck in a level of ego development that objectifies the “object of her affection”, Sukuna, and sees it as something to be claimed and owned. She sees it as her duty to the Beloved to subdue him with her power.
Ironically, as Jung himself used to say, “where love rules, there is no will to power; and where power predominates, there love is lacking. The one is the shadow of the other.”
Jungian Analyst, John Haule further tells us that “the goal of love appears to be nothing less than a loss of ego.”
He adds that the Demon Lover archetype is often constellated in romantic relationships when the lover lacks the psychoemotional maturity to see the delusions caused by the love potion as a projection of one’s shadow onto the Beloved.
Instead, we are invited to consider that this kind of love is more like an addiction.
Or in the words of Børns’ Electric Love...
Drown me (drown me), you make my heart beat like the rain
Surround me (oh), hold me deep beneath your waves
Baby, you're like lightning in a bottle
I can't let you go now that I got it
And all I need is to be struck
By your electric love
Which, thematically, is so perfect for a story like Jujutsu Kaisen where selfishly prioritizing satisfying the hedonistic and fleeting desires of the ego sense of self is what drives the strongest sorcerers.

I cannot believe this silly little wee woo unserious gay fire fighter show finally got me.
In no particular order:
I’m irrationally upset that it’s only now being called the gay firefighter show when it’s??? Apparently??? Been CANONICALLY gay since day one? Idk why I’m surprised every fandom continues to be racist as shit because Black lesbians apparently don’t count!!!!
Speaking of: I love Hen. Hen is the character of all time. She is the main to ME, right along with Athena and then Chim. They’re so interesting and fun and complicated and what do you MEAN people demonize them all the time are you kidding!!!
I binge watched the show in a weekend and am all caught up and I’m sorry to say, I simply do not see the vision between the main guys that everyone lost their shit for. I don’t! The chemistry isn’t chemistrying for me!
It probably doesn’t help that I personally think both Buck and Maddie are as annoying as fuck and that both the plot and the characters act as if the world revolves around them sorry I simply do not give a fuck
Athena,,, my love,,, thee most woman. The wigs they put her in are a hate crime but perhaps that’s the only way our televisions could withstand the power of weekly Angela Bassett.
The found fambly of it all got to me I can’t lie. And ACTUAL found family. Not just glorified coworkers people like to pretend are family. Despite the writing being lackluster in terms of Consequences to almost anything, the BOND is there and i see the vision for the Fambly.
I wrote Bobby/Athena because for the first time in my entire time in fandom, I wanted to take them OUT of situations. Let Athena have a honeymoon! She deserves it. Bobby is There too I guess.
Currently writing Chim & Hen in a canon divergence where Maddie doesn’t actually say yes to the proposal. I do not like her character at all but I refuse to belittle her in the same way I’ve seen fandom do to Chim AND Hen in all of 2 days I’ve been here. Not on my watch! i am so sorry i saved this ask to be a reward for me after work yesterday and then completely forgot about it.
20. Have your ocs helped you in self discovery? How?
yes!!! a lot actually!! all in very individual and unique ways. i mean i literally went by tucker as a name for a time because of how much tucker influenced me lol. it’s actually funny because you can always tell when i’m going through some sort of identity crisis because one of my ocs will just get a dramatic overhaul or like intense deep dive into their character.
in terms of queerness specifically… tucker is the whole reason why i discovered how werewolves and wolves connect to my masculinity and my gender. that’s something that i still carry very close to me and probably my first baby steps into butchness before i even fully understood it. hes a very old monsterhearts character that i made him at the beginning of the pandemic when i was in this weird limbo space of my transition and how my neurodiversity played into that. he definitely represented who i wanted to be/look like at the time. and over time his identity has changed to reflect mine- from being a gay man to bisexual to a butch dyke to all three at the same time. tucker tends to reflect me the closest but i think i also just change him whenever i’ve Already discovered smth about myself.
xanders gender presentation has given me a much higher respect for drag and Gender Weirdness in general. not to say i didn’t have it before but it feels a lot more personal now. he’s just so fun to play around with in ways that i’m not comfortable experimenting with my own gender url but are still experiences i like to explore if that makes sense. he was also definitely my bisexual awakening when i was in denial for like 6 months. like when i finally accepted that i thought xander was a hot guy AND A HOT GIRL was when i finally accepted that i liked men and women lol. it’s also when i decided xander would be bigender as opposed to a feminine man LMFAO.
ummm tucker and jordan’s relationship pushed me to think a lot more about my queerness growing up and how my experiences growing up as a Queer Girl influenced my Current identity. their whole relationship is like. very personal to me and the queerness of their childhood is such an important part of the story and Why They’re Like That. like idk Queer Childhoods are a very prevalent theme in wolfsbane and i guess i don’t really Discover anything when talking about/working through their backstory but i definitely reflect a lot on myself and my own experiences and it’s just made me a lot more Aware of my childhood.
jordan is actually my oldest character of the bunch that i made back when i was transitioning in high school and was definitely me sorting through some Gay Repressed Emotions but his backstory was just so different back then that it’s hard to relate to it. jordan’s queerness is such a diff experience from i mine though that i can definitely say for certain that he has helped me with self discovery in other ways way more than in terms of queerness. his relationship to his body (less in a trans sense and more in a psychosis sense) and reality are like. the big things i sorta project onto him.
konami reflects a lot of my gender apathy and “unseriousness” about queerness and while i haven’t thought about it much before he definitely represents a future i wish i had for myself of being raised in a communal queer space so like. he’s my inner child in a way :3c i think they also represent like. how my queerness was influenced by the internet and digital spaces but like that was as close as i got to having a queer community growing up so it still relates back to that first point about queer upbringing!
but yeah my characters are always very clear reflections of me and my experiences it’s very intentional. you can definitely tell how i perceive myself and my identity at the time based on which of the four im hyperfixated on the most. i will literally change my entire wardrobe when i decide to delve into one of my characters more. we sorta grow in tandem though sometimes my love for them changes my identity/i subconsciously project things onto them first and other times i realize something about myself and then add it to their characters. we’re very connected though!

i think this article has a lot of important things to say but does a bad job of saying them
I think something I find very weird about this article is the fact that its titled the way it is. like why is AJN in the title? It’s clickbaity and a little unprofessional. And I don’t even disagree with 99% of what it’s saying, the likelihood that 90% of the story is true is quite high. However, there are so few sources that can actually be traced back. There’s some very unneeded speculation. Alexander J Newall being targeted only in the title with nothing in the article really blaming him for anything is just weird. he's the ceo, yes, but you have placed your (named) blame within the article almost entirely on this one callum dougherty.
The fact that it was retweeted by a former TMA voice actor is pretty compelling. And the fact that former people who worked with Rusty Quill whether as volunteers or staff can attest to their poor communication. And bad practices in general. I mean I pretty much do believe a lot of it. Just I find the lack of concrete evidence within the article and the lack of good journalistic practice to detract a lot from the message of the article.
Also names of characters in TMA as pseudonyms feels very unserious. When I reached the bit that was talking about Georgie and Melanie I was like come on please be for real. like this is serious business😭. also I’m seeing the author does a freelancing work with another podcasting company and it’s been argued that they were only freelancing so it’s not that big of a deal. But I don’t know I don’t like that.
Either way the people we really need to think about other people affected by rqs bad practices. I think it really is just incompetence. But they could really really really do better. Also the fact of the author is blocking anyone with any criticism on Twitter??? I don’t think that proves anything other than that they do not know how to make their article look good. That coupled with the weird journalistic choices and the caption they put on their Twitter ("make your statement face your fear" LMFAO?! how unnecessary! again, be serious!) it really does make them look less credible even though in reality the article has legs.
at the end of the day i think it just needed more time. i get the point of releasing this as soon as possible to give fans much needed info on what their fav company is doing in the midst of their kickstarter (lmfao idk i find that quite funny) just… it wasn't done very well or with much thought as to how to actually deal with people who disagree. and by “well” i mean you cannot release an article full of unverifiable info with your (admittedly not TOO damning) background and not one first hand verifiable quote and expect no “hmmm…”s. cuz the author is out here blocking people lmfao. not for disagreeing with the points in the article but for saying “hey i'm not sure you have put much thought into how you wrote this!”
i also think it's very annoying the way people are in the comments of podcasters working under rusty quill talking about the article saying "but u can't say other people didn't experience this!!!' they're not saying that brother. they're responding directly to the “podcasters under rq won't say anything bc theyre not allowed!!!!!” portion of it which i would respond to, too, like don't be silly. like fuck u niggas no one can fucking gag me dont say that😭. again again again… i am very very VERY inclined to believe almost everything in said article. i just find its release into the world and its writing to be a little… subpar. better than nothing i guess. tho is it? people have literally been saying everything here about rq for a while. save the suing and contract stuff i think and even then, you cannot bring up something as serious as SUING and not elaborate lmao! good concept bad execution imo. anywaysssss

TLDR; this article has a lot of important things to say about rusty quill's bad practices but it does it in ways that are very unprofessional. Speculation and the clickbaity title and the lack of concrete sources and twitter caption and the author whose freelance work may or may not be relevant to disclose in an article about their ex-clients competition and the substitution of anonymous names with characters from the Magnus archives. They all paint a picture of a very inexperienced writer whose work amounts mostly to an opinion piece. However I am inclined to believe the allegations made in said article for the reason that there have been a lot of people who previously worked with rusty quill saying the same thing. or mostly the same thing. I just think this article uncovered very little new information and something about it seems mean-spirited, almost as if it was for something that isn’t just the betterment of the affected peoples conditions. But that’s just speculation 😛and honestly just my feelings, not backed up by anything. For me this is more an exercise in analysing an article in general than it is analysing the situation at hand. “the bottom rankings have been like a home to me, a home i haven’t really been able to escape” he lets out a giggle. “i’ve gotten scolded a lot, after the my turn scolding i had kind of just guessed i’d be going home soon, but somehow i didn’t, somehow i really made it to the finals”. he looks around “wow…” he gives a smile to the camera “is this real? maybe i’m having a really long dream? or maybe this is some kind of awful and way too long prank?” he lets out a quick laugh. “if i’m honest… i have to be careful i don’t end up crying at the finals” … “or now”.
‘what was the greatest challenge during this mission?’
“that it’s the last? after this there are no more chances, whatever result comes out of this is the final. sure the other missions could’ve been the final, i wasn’t sure if i would make it or if i’d get eliminated, but at last then i knew there was a chance of another next performance” he runs a hand through his hair. “i’m not sure of the outcome of this, but practicing for realize was honestly scary… i’ve often felt like i didn’t deserve to be on the show, like everyone is far far better than me… with realize i’ve really wanted to prove that i was and am worthy of being here, not just to the judges and viewers, not just to the other participants, but to everyone, myself included”. he looks down, a single tear being shed, and he wipes it away as he looks up again “sorry about getting emotional… it’s just been” … … “tough”. “i want to give the best performance i’ve yet to give, and i’m scared of messing up”.
‘was there another participant who was especially helpful?’
“me and junho actually know each other from outside the show… we haven’t done any missions together, but he scolded me during my turn practice. i was really shocked at the moment, almost thinking, wow he’s taking this too seriously, but the truth was i was the one taking it too unseriously. for my turn i didn’t just get scolded from junho but from the judges too, it made me realize i should’ve listened to junho… so for this time around i took everything junho told me seriously, anything he had pointed out i listened to carefully, junho isn’t just a friend, but i find him to be one of the best on the show. i’m thankful to be on the same team as him where i’m actually taking everything seriously, i’m thankful to be able to perform with him”. he hums before continuing “of course the other members on my team we’re a great help too, so i must mention a thank you to nayoung, cameron and kou too, thank you for helping me learn the dance, to practice singing and rapping with me” he gives a smile.
‘do you feel confident in your performance?’
“i feel nervous, realize is my last performance on the show”.
“but”
“but yes, i feel confident. there might be better dancers, singers and rappers than me on the show, but i’ve improved a lot. i used to get scolded, people was disappointed to be teamed up with me, but i’ve made it to the finals, so… there must be something good about me, my performances can’t be completely bad when i’ve made it so far, yeah? i’m nervous of course, but i’m confident in that i can show the viewers a performance where they’ll question if i’m really the same guy as from the first episodes. i’ve improved a lot, i’ve learned a lot, i can give a performance that others will enjoy too, i’m confident in that”.
“and next gen? thank you for it all” he shows a smile.

No powers AU where kaito works part time as a suit actor for zenkaiser. Established relationship. Sorry for being attracted to the kaiser suits all the time.
Kaito likes to think he feels perfectly secure in his relationship.
He is very in love with his boyfriend, and Zox has never given him any reason to think the reverse is any less true. They spend lots of quality time together, and make an effort to include one another in their lives. They also participate in each others' hobbies: Kaito would go to comiket with his boyfriend, and Zox would come watch his hero shows.
And of course Kaito is overjoyed that Zox seems to be interested in his work! Especially something like tokusatsu, which is often seen as childish or unserious! Zox is very supportive, which makes Kaito feel very happy! Zox also might be a little too supportive, which makes Kaito feel a bit complicated, if he’s being honest. And he knows it’s silly, but he can’t help but feel… jealous?? sometimes.
“It’s literally you in that suit, Kaito. You know that, right?” Zox says when Kaito confronts- no, wait, that’s too strong a word. Let’s go with “inquire”. Right- when Kaito inquires about his phone’s lock screen, which is a two-shot taken at a Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger meet and greet event of Zox himself and Zenkaiser, the leader of the team. “You complain about my lock screen not being a picture of us when it’s literally a picture of us.”
“It’s a picture of you and Zenkaiser!” Kaito insists. “And I’m not complaining! I’m… making an observation!”
Because Zox likes Zenkaiser so much better than Kaito first anticipated, going beyond regular encouragement and actually actively collecting merchandise of Kaito’s first part time suit: charms and plushies and action figures and such. And it started out being flattering, but there are times when Kaito isn’t so sure anymore. The other day he stayed over, and he could not reach his boyfriend on this regular-sized double bed due to the giant blockage in the way.
Ah yes. Kaito, his boyfriend, and his boyfriend’s 1.8 meter Zenkaiser dakimakura.
And he knows it’s so silly and childish, but is he allowed to at least feel a teensy weensy lonely? Kaito pokes at the B side face of the Zenkaiser printed on the body pillow case and feels something twist sourly in his stomach.
Zox snorts, but humors him anyway with the observation claim, because he's sweet like that. “Okay, well that doesn’t change the fact that the observation is false. Zenkaiser is you, Kaito. This,” he taps at the screen. “is you. Or are you telling me you skipped work that day? Can’t be. I walked you there.”
“Zenkaiser isn’t me.” Kaito huffs. “It’s basic professionalism to keep the work life separate from the home life, you know, Zox? The kids didn’t come to see Goshikida Kaito, they came to see Zenkaiser! So Zenkaiser isn’t me. Zenkaiser is Zenkaiser.” He reasons. “If anyone, Zenkaiser is Kiichan.” Kaito lets the thought swirl around his skull for roughly two and a half laps before it dawns him. “Oh no! Am I losing to Kiichan?”
“Kaito.” Zox takes his hands gently. “Komagine Kiita is a fictional character.” Which is an extremely weak argument for an otaku like him! When have they ever let the line between 2D and 3D stop them before!
“You can still like him better than me, and it would be so understandable! He’s such a good guy!!” Kaito whines, slumping over the table. “How am I supposed to compete against a hero!”
Zox rolls his eyes. “Honestly Kaito, don’t you like Kiita better than me? What’s with the affectionate nickname?”
“It’s because Kiichan is really cute.” Kaito says.
“And would you like him better than me, as a romantic partner?”
Kaito shakes his head.
“So would I like him better than you when you like him more than I do?”
Kaito shakes his head again.
“And you collect Zenkaiser merch all the time too.”
Kaito nods.
“This is just like that. Except I wouldn’t even think to collect Zenkaiser merch if he weren’t your role, Kaito.”
“I only work part-time at events.” Kaito says quietly, embarrassment catching up to him slowly.
“Doesn’t matter, it’s your first gig.” Zox raises his eyebrows, like he’s challenging any other retorts that Kaito dares utter. “And you better get ready for even more merch of your first major role. I’m going to fill the whole fucking room and there’s not a thing you can do to stop me from supporting the shit out of you.”
“Wow!” Kaito answers a little dizzily. “Do you like me that much?”
“Stupid question to ask, Kaito.” his boyfriend scoffs. “Obviously. I don’t date anyone unless I like him a whole lot.”
“Zox~!” Kaito can feel his eyes watering. “I like you a whole lot too! A whole whole lot!!” He spreads his arms out wide to demonstrate that it’s thiiiiiis whole whole lot! That’s how much! Then Zox chuckles and he thinks that he needs longer arms, much much longer arms if he ever wants to accurately showcase just how much.
“Yeah, yeah, I know.” Zox says, smiling fondly in the way that makes Kaito’s heart race too fast. “And? Are you finally going to tell me what brought this up in the first place?”
“Well.” Dang it! It’s a silly and childish thing! Kaito is so going to get laughed at! But maybe he deserves a little being laughed at. Besides, he likes making his boyfriend laugh. So braving the mortification, Kaito says, “The……dakimakura.”
And Zox’s eyes widen so expectantly so quickly, even more efficient than the amused curl of his mouth. “What about it?”
“It’s very tall.” Kaito explains, playing with his thumbs. “And I was thinking, what? I can’t hug my boyfriend with this in the way!”
“Kaito, Kaito.” Zox says, and Kaito appreciates him for keeping it in despite the shaking shoulders giving him away. “You can ask.”
“I didn’t want to wake you!” He protests weakly. And fine, maybe a small irrational part of him is worried he’d be dismissed.
“Alright, I get it now. C’mere.” Zox waves him over, and Kaito obliges, confused, when he is yanked by the hand and then caught smoothly in his boyfriend’s arms in an easy slide. “There you go.” His cheek is itchy where Zox’s hair brushes against his face. “Happy with your hug now?”
He fastens his hands around Zox’s back tightly, and squeezes, and it’s so secure here- the hug, that is, so there’s really no other answer than- “Perfectly!”

I just want to say I am absolutely obsessed w all your sincerely me posts. You do such a good job breaking them down and identifying all the little details that go into that scene as well as analyzing what they mean about Jared and Evan separately and ofc their relationship as a whole. Wonderful stuff! Also the compilation of Will doing The Laugh added 10 years to my life so thank u
oh thank you lmao i always enjoy people enjoying those posts, and there’s always so much to dig into with that scene, but i think plenty of times i think people can just sort of let the scene wash over as a “oh, the point of this is just that it’s fun” sort of surface level, very straightforward element of the show, and part of the point surely is that it Is fun, but everything about this song is about evan and jared’s interaction / dynamic / relationship here, and the levity and humor doesn’t mean there’s nothing here to Take Seriously, which is certainly true re: jared in general, rather than him being Jokes Boy with no real feelings or anything (i know i’m already preaching to the choir here with all this “here’s what sincerely me is Really About / what deserves more appreciation re: jared” lmao but the ted talks just Occur)
like, here’s the high point of the whole show for jared, and this moment with evan which is so enjoyable and satisfying that he’s going to keep hanging on to evan’s runaway train in the hopes of getting more of this, particularly in act 2 where that’s truly like 100% of his motivation (vs that in act 1 he’s at least also having some degree of an earnest response to the idea behind tcp along with evan and alana, even if it’s still plenty about doing this With Evan) and like, it’s especially a tragedy re: the album where you Only get jared’s vocals, & have less of his dialogue, so it’s easier to forget he’s there or what his part in this is and that, you know, this wouldn’t be a song if it wasn’t about His And Evan’s relationship, and it’s like 98% the case that “connor” in this song just Is jared
and that yeah like we’ve been recently posting lol how there’s actually really just these endless Layers to this material, a mille feuille of Relationship Analysis that’s getting folded over again and again, where it’s jared and evan for real, but pretending to be other people, and making things up, but trying to make it seem Real, and both taking the other’s feedback into their own writing / working off of the other’s contributions, and evan could be seeing “connor” through the lens of what little he knows about actual connor, or projecting himself onto someone he realizes was similar to him in ways, or being informed about Friendship via his own relationship with / perception of jared, who’s in a similar position here re: what’s behind his Inspiration or Interpretation, which roles are Him, or Evan, or ostensibly connor, and what all projection or wish fulfillment or Interpreting is going on around here, not to mention that these two Real People’s Real Dynamic is unfolding right in front of us and is very directly what’s going Into these created emails (which do, apparently, seem like the record of an amazing friendship according to cynthia and then like, a bunch of other people) because this whole writing session is this collaborative back and forth which wouldn’t be happening in the first place if evan didn’t turn to jared for input/help with anything and if jared didn’t want to be involved in evan’s life and be someone evan Wants to seek out like this and you know, how delighted jared is to have evan’s attention, even if as he starts giving evan what he’s actually after here, evan’s attention seemingly shifts over to “connor,” even though that’s jared.....still not a direct Win for jared there, see: him in the reprise, trying to put a “jared” into the story as well, since evan’s invented relationship with jared!connor isn’t actually translating into evan being closer / more interested in actual jared....what about jared!jared......now i’m even thinking about jared getting that highest note harmony at the end of sincerely me.....pay attention to Him
thinking allllllways about how jared completely invents the chorus himself, expecting evan to approve, and with no input from evan, just that Approval, and it comes on the heels of also-approved writing for connor about Trying To Be More....Nice.....i’ll turn it around, wait and see...........just about to lie down about the fact that this, on top of what evan’s already made up in for forever, is about trying to make this Hopeful story, because that’s what evan wants for himself, and what he thinks cynthia would find comforting re: connor, and here’s jared like, okay, so your Supposed relationship didn’t look that warm & amazing from the outside, but how about if it just had a lot of Potential, like, HMM!!! lots to consider there!! but then Oof at the fact inevitably the story falls apart and so does jared’s hopes for his relationship with evan, even though like, connor died & never had that friendship with evan, & jared is probably still alive & Did have a connection with him & is presumably still out there, able to be talked to, maybe try reinventing and giving things attention, you know
just that Yeah lmao the tl;dr here is people mostly going like wow lol what a fun song, &/or a gay song, & it’s like, well sure but for one thing, all of that is completely due to Jared & his and evan’s dynamic & relationship, but that once you realize that that’s what the song is actually about, there’s just so much to consider and analyze in what might otherwise be overlooked as a song that has nothing to to say besides what’s most straightforwardly there, even though, you know, these are characters who have so much trouble saying what they mean or feel or want, but who are able to Reveal more about themselves in that way through this pretense/artifice which is sort of displacing their usual defense mechanisms. been Thinking About It many times and i’m still pondering aspects of it afresh / having new Insights, and anyone else can be too lmao, lots going on here & lots to say based on what anyone’s experienced / taken note of.....wtaw is of course v different as a song, more outright dramatic & desperate, whereas sincerely me is presented as more comedic & light, and it Is these two friends having some fun here rather than the protagonist having this crisis before homeroom at the start of the show, but here sincerely me is as another song about Trying and Wanting and some hopefulness that has to remain ultimately inconclusive, because connor still died.....lots going on, of course the tone is different b/c jared is a part of it, but people also completely overlook Other moments as jared you know, not having as genuine or deep or real Feelings as evan b/c jared’s front involves acting unbothered and being clever and funny, but obviously that doesn’t mean his feelings aren’t there and there aren’t stakes to them, and just because this song involving jared just seems lighthearted and unserious doesn’t mean that again, things aren’t Real and Important for jared.....augh
and yes lmfao the laugh is very good, i’m glad to compile it for our health
