Battinson Guest Starring on TV Shows
SO
For someone who holds the title of Richest Man in the World, Bruce doesn’t do a lot of traveling.
Which is to say he does a LOT of traveling, but he always tries to find a way out of it.
(Are there bat-related reasons for this? Are there people-related reasons for this? Are there anxiety-related reasons for this? Who knows?)
But partners and sponsors aren’t always going to tolerate his hermit-like tendencies. So once every month or so, Alfred wrangles Bruce into a private jet and sends him off to who knows where so he can represent the company.
Usually, it’s somewhere close on the East Coast, maybe it’s across the pond, even Asia isn’t off the table, but the rarest place to spot Bruce Wayne is actually the West Coast of the US.
One day, it is announced that Bruce Wayne will be spending two (count ‘em, 2) consecutive weeks in California with his kids for some grand business convention.
The West Coast media goes feral with the news, ESPECIALLY interviewers. And because Bruce kicks up such a fuss this time, Alfred has the gall to sign him up for FOUR TV appearances.
Here are these appearances :)
RuPaul’s Drag Race
Drag Queens, especially Drag Race all-stars, contribute to a wide variety of charities
So on a new episode, the queens are challenged to design and shoot a promotional ad for their own charity
And who better to act as a guest judge for this episode than the show’s largest benefactor, CEO of the Wayne Foundation, Bruce Wayne?!
Physically? He’s older than half of the contestants. But spiritually? He screams Baby Gay.
Fifteen minutes into the episode, Bruce is welcomed into the werkroom where he gives them pointers on their campaign. He’s in his cute little three-piece suit (Alfred’s idea) with the intention of looking put-together and knowledgeable. But that’s not the only outcome.
They all flirt with him. Everyone, single or taken. The confessionals are so thirsty.
“He’s lucky the cameras are on. Otherwise, I’d eat him up faster than a bachelorette party in a buffet line.”
“My celebrity crush is talking to me, and all I can focus on are his gorgeous eyes. How am I supposed to know what he's saying?”
Of course, they shoot their shot, but most of it is joking since they don't know he's bi yet.
“Are you single, honey?” Bruce blushes. “It’s complicated.” “Well, I’ll make it simple for you.”
We all know this man can't handle being flirted with. We saw how he froze when Selina did it. It’s like he mentally bluescreens when someone calls him a pet name.
Only THEN do they learn he's bi
One of the queens jokingly asks him, “Ever been with a man before?” thinking it would be a firm no, but Bruce says, “Actually, yes.” “Oh shit, really?” And to Bruce’s embarrassment, the whole room hears him.
The flirting is thus taken up a notch.
On the main stage, Bruce has a lot of great constructive criticism. He talks about how to find the right audience, the importance of a good slogan, and even goes on a little rant about logo design.
(You cannot convince me that Bruce hasn’t hyperfixated on the business of charity work before. Or the science of marketing. They’re his favorite business topics.)
After about three minutes of him complimenting one contestant for their Drag Library pitch, he stops himself mid-sentence and says, “Oh sorry, am I talking too much?” “No, please! Keep talking, sweetheart.” Bruce covers his face to hide his blush. “Why is everyone flirting with me?” “Baby, have you seen yourself?”
While the judges deliberate, RuPaul mentions Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent. Bruce nods along for a while then suddenly just blurts out, “Wait, does it spell ****?”
The judges pause then burst out laughing. “Oh no, we’ve traumatized him!" Bruce is blushing up a storm. “I just never thought about it like that!” “Sweet, innocent Bruce. We’re so sorry.”
It’s later revealed that Bruce offered to help some of the queens launch their charity projects through the Wayne Foundation.
It’s v cute 🥰
Nailed It!
I love Nicole Byer.
She is Mother.
In all seriousness, she’s so fucking funny and she’s personable enough to pull Bruce out of his shell a bit.
The theme for this episode is Found Family. Three pairs of family members compete together—a gay father and his adopted son, an aunt who adopted her niece, and a stepfather and stepdaughter.
Because Bruce Wayne famously adopted two children, he is invited to guest judge.
So Nicole opens the episode with a zinger, the contestants are introduced, and Bruce is welcomed onto the judge’s panel beside Nicole and Jacques.
(Yes, Bruce does speak French. Yes, Nicole makes a joke about it being hot.)
Nicole: “We were surprised you accepted our invitation, Mr. Wayne. You’re notorious for staying on the East Coast. What brought you to the Nailed It! Studio?” Bruce: “My children love this show. They always tell me I should be on it since I’m so bad at baking.” Nicole: “Really? Maybe we should do a celebrity season of Nailed It! and have you compete.” Bruce: “No, you should not.”
Nicole: “So, Bruce, I know you have a butler at home who bakes for you. But what’s the grossest thing you’ve eaten? Escargot? Bad caviar?” Bruce: “I drank olive oil straight from the bottle once.” Nicole: “…What?”
The problem for Bruce is he can’t say anything bad. It just feels mean :(
(And he would rather jump into oncoming traffic than gamble with a social interaction)
For the first challenge, the contestants make cake pops. But when Bruce tries the first one, there is a sickening crunch. Bruce’s eyes widen for a second and he slowly chews.
Nicole: “What was that? Bruce, are you okay?” Bruce, clearly struggling: “It’s…good.”
“Bruce, you can spit it out. It’s okay.” “I already swallowed it.” “Oh, you poor thing.” Bruce chokes for a second, and Nicole pats his back. “Please don’t die. We can’t afford it.”
For the big challenge, production has a surprise in store for Bruce.
Dick (9) and Jason (7) run onto the set and smother Bruce with a hug.
It’s adorable. Bruce no longer cares about paying attention, okay? His kids are here :D
The two boys read from cue cards to announce the second challenge: a three-tiered Gotcha Day cake. And as per tradition, the winner of the first challenge gets a leg-up.
This time, it’s a Helping Hands Button. When they hit the button, Dick and Jason will run over and help them for three minutes. (While being supervised, of course.)
As the contestants bake, Nicole says hello to Dick and Jason, who are clambering all over Bruce like a jungle gym. They both shake her hand and talk about how they love the show.
Nicole looks pointedly at the two empty chairs beside Bruce. “You know, we brought these chairs for you two to sit in.” Dick, on Bruce’s shoulders: “We’re fine, Ms. Byer!” Nicole: “Ms. Byer? Oh, you’re a cutie, aren’t you?”
Just ten minutes before the challenge is over, the Helping Hands button is pressed, and Dick and Jason are given stools so they can help the aunt and niece stack their cake tiers.
Two minutes in, the aunt instructs them to let go of the cake. But the moment Jason pulls his hands away, the cake topples over and covers him in frosting. Jason, whispering: “Oh f*ck.” Bruce: “Jason!” Jason: “I didn’t say that! Dick did!” Nicole: *cackling as Bruce buried his face in his hands*
Jason gets cleaned up, and Dick helps them stack what can still be salvaged.
When Wes brings out the trophy, he’s dressed as Batman. Dick and Jason gets a kick out of that.
Celebrity Family Feud
Bruce was invited to the show after his SNL skit went viral a few months ago
This episode, the teams are split up by cities they grew up in. Gotham v. Star City. Naturally, his team is playing for the Wayne Foundation.
It’s a pretty odd cast of people, most of them having moved to LA or Hollywood. Bruce is the only one to still live in Gotham.
They have fun, though, despite their limited common ground. The audience has a few good laughs.
(Some at Bruce's expense)
Harvey: You're a very wealthy man, Mr. Wayne. What do you really do in that tower all day? Bruce: I, uh…business? Harvey: …You business. Bruce: ……Wait-
All in good fun. Bruce just vibes in his little corner until he needs to answer a question. It's pretty chill.
For exactly half of the episode.
Then it happens.
Steve Harvey takes two people from each team up to the buzzer and says, “We asked 100 people: Name something your parents always told you as a kid.”
What the production failed to consider is how this particular question might be a sensitive topic for some contestants.
Bruce’s team gets the question, and Steve saunters up to Bruce, completely oblivious.
“Alright, Bruce Wayne!” Bruce nods awkwardly. “Hi, Steve.” “Bruce, what’s wrong? You’re looking a bit uncomfortable.” “…I don’t like this question, Steve.” “Why not?” Bruce just gives him a desperate look, and it clicks. “Oh! Oh my gosh!”
Let’s be real. Bruce is awkward enough, but Steve Harvey cannot save an awkward moment for his life either.
But he tries his best anyway and asks, “Are you okay with answering this question, or would you like to pass?” Bruce nods frantically. “I can answer. ‘I love you.’” “I love you too, Mr. Wayne.” “No, uh, my answer is ‘I love you.’” “Oh! That’s a good one.”
Thankfully, the audience erupts in laughter. That little interaction cuts the tension, and Bruce’s answer ends up on the board.
And by god, the memes
“I love you too, Mr. Wayne” is the new “Enjoy your meal.” “You too.”
The audio clip of “I don’t like this question, Steve” goes viral on TikTok
Someone gets a pic of Bruce and Steve looking at each other with palpable fear in their eyes, and it makes its rounds all over Twitter
10/10 never again
Running Wild with Bear Grylls
Now this is the most challenging. Not because it’s difficult, of course. But because Bruce has to look stupid enough to maintain his Brucie Wayne persona but smart enough to keep himself safe.
For this episode, Bear takes Bruce to the California desert.
“How much do you know about survival, Bruce?” Bear asks. Bruce nods carefully. “I did some survival training once with a friend from boarding school.” “Oh really, how did you do?” “Fine, I think.”
This is, of course, his way of saying I trained with a league of assassins for years, but Bear can’t know that! And that’s how most of the episode goes.
Thank god Bruce's fear of being caught is mistaken for being scared of the physical challenge because every time Bear points out how well he’s doing, he breaks into a sweat.
Bear: For a businessman, you’re surprisingly fit. Bruce, sweating bullets: Oh, this is all just for show.
Bear: Wow, you’re a natural. Are you sure you’ve never set up a zip-line before? Bruce, gripping his equipment so tight he gets rope burn: I think it’s just the survival instincts.
Of course, he pretends to be out of breath a few times. The Drama.
Bruce, pretending to slip and fall: Ouch! Who knew the outdoors were so dangerous? Bear, you are crazy. Bruce, internally: How much longer are we doing this?
Bruce being a vegetarian is actually a point of contention. You see, Bear always makes their celebrity guests do something crazy for food like skin a snake or eat a mouse. Scavenging for berries just doesn’t grab the audience’s attention.
But do you know what is vegetarian?
Bear: Now, in extreme cases of survival, it’s not rare for humans to resort to drinking their own pee. That’s what we’ll be doing in a moment. Are you up for it? Bruce, visibly repulsed: I’ve had Gotham tap water. I’ll be fine.
How on God’s Green Earth did Alfred convince him to do this?
To get to the extraction point, Bear takes Bruce down a cliffside.
Bear shows Bruce the meticulous process of properly belaying from the top of a cliff, and Bruce, who has done this over 100 times is like, “Wow that’s so dangerous :( Will we be okay?”
He really tries to ramp up his acting skills this time.
(Little does he know that’s not necessary.)
Bruce goes down first as Bear belays with a cameraman filming from the top. Halfway down, Bruce hears a scuffle, and the cameraman yells, “F*ck!”
Bruce looks up, arms already out for protection, and he sees a small disk falling towards him. It’s the lens cap. He catches it on instinct.
For a second, he thinks, “Shit, was that too skilled? That’s not enough to make people think I’m Batman, right? I just caught it in midair while dangling from a cliff. That’s totally not weird and suspicious. Normal people do that—“
Then Bear yells, “Bruce, drop it!” Bruce looks up at Bear, confused. “Why?” “There's a scorpion!” That’s when Bruce looks at the lens cap and sees a black scorpion perched on top with its tail ready to strike.
They don’t have those in Gotham.
Bruce jumps in his harness and flings the cap at the rocky cliffside. He hears a crunch, and the scorpion and cap tumble to the ground. Bruce frowns. Can a scorpion survive that drop?
“You just killed a scorpion, mate!” Bear cries. Bruce looks up in horror. “I killed it?!” “Hell yeah!” Bruce’s face falls. “No!”
Because oh. shit.
Bruce just killed something. The sad, orphaned vegetarian just killed a scorpion.
Bruce has a meltdown.
He didn’t mean to kill it!!!! Oh no, he just killed an innocent little creature. Yeah, he punches people for fun sometimes, and he definitely put a few violent criminals in the hospital, but he’s never committed MURDER!!
This poor little scorpion died due to his own negligence, and he feels so so so bad about it.
Bruce is a mess as he climbs the rest of the way down.
Bruce, cradling the scorpion’s body: I don’t know how to perform CPR on a scorpion! Bear: Bruce, you took its head clean off. Bruce: *sad noises*
Legit inconsolable. To him, it’s like he just murdered a puppy
Once they're out, Bear is trying to cheer him up. Bless him.
Bear: We’ve conquered the wild! Haven’t we, Bruce? Bruce, head between his legs, still mourning the scorpion: I’m never going outside again.
Yeah, no one’s going to think he’s Batman after that.
And that's all four of Bruce's TV appearances from the West Coast :) Dick and Jason never let him live any of it down. Alfred is almost sorry. (He is not sorry.)
Let me know your thoughts! What other TV shows do you think Battinson would appear on as a guest?
Okie dokie :D Love y'all! Have a good day <3

The Current Timeline of Wild Kratts:
Remember 3 years ago during the hiatus when I made that detailed post explaining the chronological lore of Wild Kratts and analyzed its timeline of a decade's worth of episode with a dash of my own HC involved in it and posted it onto the Wild Kratts fandom subreddit?
Yeah, I promised updates to it when the new episodes arrived, and here I am almost a damn year later with four episodes already released, and four more on their way (with two of them already having been leaked!) Not to mention there were people who messaged me about legitimate errors I made that I accepted humbly, but didn't actually fix. Not to mention the crossovers that I completely ignored.
Well, much like in 2021, I had wayy too much free time on my hands and decided to go back and finally update that timeline. Unfortunately, Reddit's character limit prevented me from getting the edited version posted so I grit my teeth and decided to bring this fucker to Tumblr via copy and paste. Yeah, I'm not even kidding. So if you've ALSO got enough free time on your hands or are someone who read the original post who was desperately searching for an update, you've got it.
Full post underneath the cut: Warning, shit gets crazy down there.
The PBS Kids original animated show “Wild Kratts” has turned a decade old in the 2020's. Within that time, an autobiography, a 200 episode milestone, and a theatrical film based on the series is confirmed to be in development.
With new episodes of the show coming out, I figured that I’d analyze the show by making an analysis for its timeline. Like many shows, it does have continuity, but Wild Kratts is one of those shows which apparently has an extremely open universe where events happen within that universe, but they don’t seem to have a coherent timeline or any serialization. Many episodes are aired out of order and it’s hard to find a passage of time in a show which doesn’t rely on over-serialization in order to tell its own story.
I partly blame this on production errors as well as strict scheduling as well as the network focusing on releasing episodes in order of when they were produced as opposed to the intended date.
I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt that it doesn’t just rehash its timeline over and over again (unlike some other shows I know cough cough Arthur & Family Guy cough cough). Continuity does exist. It’s just figuring out how it falls in line that is the hard part.
I’ll update this post every time a new episode comes out. My plan is to analyze every single episode until the series finale so that we can determine how much time passes in the show. The way I'll order the timeline is by chronological order first. If there exists an episode or a group of episodes that do not contradict the order, but is not stated to go within this order, I will place them by original air-date and not production order.
I had found a website that lists every Wild Kratts episode (minus the hour-long specials) in order by air-date, unlike the Wild Kratts wiki & Wikipedia. Now, I did find some errors, as it claims that the first 2 episode aired on December 31st and not January 3rd, however I can forgive that as that has been a misconception for years and it got only the date wrong and not the order of episodes. So I was able to use that as a reliable source, more so than the fandom wiki. I am also running off of vivid memory based on my viewing experience as a kid, since I grew up with the show and have come to realize how much info I've retained from the universe of my hyperfixation and how I can use that to this post's advantage. Let's get into it.
Activate Analysis Powers!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
SEASON 1:
Let’s start with the very first 2 episodes to be released: Mom of a Croc and Whale of a Squid.
In that episode, we see that the Kratt Brothers are already familiar with what’s around them. They’re familiar with the Minaturizer, their Creature Power Suits and Disks, and adventuring with the coolest creatures from oceans to trees (sorry, had to squeeze that reference in).
We see that some animals and inventions are introduced into this episode like the Hippo Sub, Crocodilla, and her daughters. However, let’s focus on things which aren’t introduced in this episode.
Most notably, the Gharial Power Disks and the Miniaturizer. Let’s focus on the disks first.
Near the climax of the episode, the Kratt Brothers use the Gharial Power Disks to substitute for Crocodile Powers since they did not have a disk. Gharials and Nile Crocodiles are both in the order Crocodillia, but were not in the same species nor family. That, along with different designs, makes gharials and crocodiles in general very different animals, which is why the activation didn’t hold up (I hope to god they actually make an episode around gharials in the next season).
Many people assume that this episode only takes place after Kerhonk since Chris uses Gharial Crocodile Power, but this is actually false. Listen closely to what Chris is saying.
“Ha! Crocodile. And a gharial is a type of crocodile!”
Now we’ve already established that a gharial is NOT a crocodile despite being a crocodillian, but let’s get to the important part. Chris is saying that as he pulls out his Crocodile Disk for the Creature Power Suit. Now here is the thing. He doesn’t pull out a Gharial Disk. He uses the Croc Disk to activate Gharial Power, but he doesn’t use a gharial disk to activate the corresponding power suit.
So if Aviva did invent Gharial Power by the events of Kerhonk, Chris would’ve used that instead of using the Crocodile Disk as a substitute. And assuming that episode predates Mom of a Croc, the Kratt Brothers would’ve obviously used the Crocodile Disk since they have used it before.
So that means there was some off-screen adventure where Aviva made Gharial Powers which took place before Kerhonk.
...But that would mean Chris would already have a Gharial Power Disk by the events of Kerhonk and Mom of a Croc. One of 2 things is likely the case. Either Chris didn’t have access to the disk and used Crocodile Power as a last resort (as we see, the disk holder doesn’t exist until Season 2, so he probably stuffs them in his pockets), or that episode exists in an alternate timeline, which we know isn’t the case since that episode’s continuity is brought up later (we will see soon).
So we’ve established that Kerhonk takes place after Mom of a Croc, which takes place after an unseen series of events that predate the series itself as we know it.
Now onto the Miniaturizer. We see it in this episode, but 4 episodes later in Mystery of the Squirmy Wormy, the miniaturizer is invented. That leads me to believe that the episode takes place before Mom of a Croc. However, if you look in the background, you can see that the Walrus Power Suit is in the background with a harness and strap over it. This debunks my original theory of this episode predating the invention of the Creature Power Disks.
With the Walrus Power Suit in mind, it has a harness and strap over it, which brings up the question of why?
My answer would be that the harness and strap was meant for the Walrus Suit after it was damaged in Polar Bears Don’t Dance.
So now we’re at the original pilot episode, the first piece of Wild Kratts media produced by PBS Kids (excluding the Flash games that came out a month prior and were removed 9 years later, *sobs*). Here, the operation of the suits is different. Here, Aviva modified the suits for arctic survival and all it takes is for them to touch the animals with the gloves and then press the button. In many episodes, the modification occurs with the existence of a Creature Power Disc, or the disk is seen off-screen.
But the more I see into it, the more it makes sense. Ever wonder why we don’t see some creature power disks of creature powers in the earlier episodes? Maybe it could be the same reason why we don’t see the Polar Bear and Walrus Disk for the Creature Power Suit.
Aviva pre-programs the Creature Power Suits into the animal that the user can activate into not because she prefers this over making discs, or because the discs are already inserted into the suit, but because this was before she began making Creature Power Discs. This explains why in many Season 1 episodes, we don’t see the disc itself because the power is preprogrammed into the suit.
So at what point does this end and Aviva starts making discs? Any could be. All we know is that this would soon become the norm over preprogramming the power into the suits.
Polar Bears Don’t Dance could possibly chronologically take place around the earliest in the Wild Kratts timeline.
In Mystery of the Weird Looking Walrus, Aviva talks about upgrading features into the Walrus Power Suit. Maybe she isn’t talking about inventing the suits, but modifying the suits, which is fitting considering the walrus suit somehow malfunctioned and got jammed (which was presumably due to the cold arctic ice).
In the same episode, Zach and Donita’s interactions appear to be as if they had met recently, with Donita referring to Zach as the one who “vomitted from clams under the table.” So already we’re forming a coherent timeline with these episodes and we’re not even half-way through Season 1.
There would be one inconsistency. In this episode, Aviva says Jimmy’s controller is waterproof (along with food-proof) but in Seasquatch, 16 episodes later, Jimmy’s controller is protected by a shrink-wrap, indicating that it isn’t safe from the environment. Well, here’s the thing.
That episode shows a second appearance of the Squid Power Suit and Bumper the Sperm Whale from the episode Whale of a Squid which aired alongside Mom of a Croc on the premiere date of the series.
There’s no reason not to believe that the whale episode takes place after Mom of a Croc, which we have already established, takes place long after Polar Bears Don’t Dance. With that, my only explanation is that Jimmy’s controller wasn’t 100% waterproof since salty water can actually be very damaging to technology.
In Octopus WildKratticus Koki lists down many Creature Powers shown. This includes Honey Badgers, Polar Bears, and Octopi. This indeed indicates that these episodes where these powers debut are placed before this episode (some say it’s a retcon, but I disagree since Martin could’ve activated Honey Badger Power after the events of Honey Seekers).
Now let’s address the continuity in the series.
In Season 1, the Kratt Brothers have 2 adventures in the Australian Outback: Ones with kangaroos and koalas. In the koala episode, Chris mentions Aviva inventing Thorny Devil Disks for the Creature Power Suits the last time they were there. Considering that the kangaroo episode was 2 episodes prior to this one, I’m making it count.
Mimic is a sequel to Cheetah Racer, which takes place after Falcon City. In Mimic, the Cheetah Power Disk is invented, which is later used in Caracal Minton.
A Huge Orange Problem takes place after Kerhonk since Schnozzle (I think that is his name appears and Chris and Martin refer to him by that name.) This means that Kerhonk is in the official timeline of WK, meaning the only explanation as to why the Kratt Brothers had little access to either the Gharial and Crocodile Power Disc is that they physically had no access to it due to misorganization.
The Food Chain Game introduces new Creature Powers treated as familiar powers, which indicates that they were already invented off-screen. No episodes introduce these Creature Powers so that means the episode can't be out of order.
In Masked Bandits, Chris and Martin originally intend to use Wolf Power as costumes for their Halloween party, but instead Raccoon Powers are activated and Wolf Power is instead invented in Little Howler.
Ok so let’s go over the established time-line so far. When listing down the time-line, I’ll first do the episodes that chronologically fit together, then I’ll list episodes through air-date if there’s no connection or contradiction between them, then I will go back to chronology if I need to.
Polar Bears Don’t Dance → The Mystery of the Squirmy Wormy → The Mystery of the Weird Looking Walrus→ Unnamed Gharial Crocodile Adventure Episode → Mom of a Croc → Whale of a Squid → Aardvark Town → Flight of the Draco → Platypus Cafe → Bass Class → Build it Beaver → Voyage of the Butterflier XT → Honey Seekers → Fireflies → Tazzy Chris → Octopus Wildkratticus → Walk on the Wetside → Elephant in the Room → Let the Rhinos Roll → Kickin’ it with the Roos → Koala Balloon → The Blue and the Grey → Falcon City → Cheetah Racer → Mimic → Kerhonk → A Huge Orange Problem → Caracal Minton Zig-Zagged → Seasquatch → The Food Chain Game → Masked Bandits → Little Howler → The Gecko Effect → Flight of the Pollinators → Birds of a Feather → Googly Eye: The Night Guru → Stuck on Sharks → A Bat in the Brownies → Raptor Roundup → Quillbur's Birthday Present
And that’s the end of the S1 timeline
Season 2:
Now already, we can see that Season 2 is a continuation of Season 1. The Tortuga HQ has an upgraded design, most likely from Aviva, which foreshadows the events of “Tortuga Tune Up.”
For the sake of things, I will put Speaking Dolphinese and Blowfish Blowout at the start of the S2 timeline because we don’t see the Tortuga so there’s a high possibility of it retaining its original design from S1 (I’m not including Lost at Sea because that was a terrible special that did nothing but combine 2 unrelated episodes into a movie).
The Seahorse Rodeo takes place afterwards since in Tortuga Tune Up, we see Blimpy (who is now an adult) and Ocean Pony.
Next we have Tortuga Tune Up, which shows Aviva modifying the Tortuga for swimming mode. Obviously I like to think the Tortuga’s redesign was an attempt to fix it, until Aviva had realized something was amiss.
Rocket Jaw: Rescuer of the Reef is a part of the Coral Reef saga of episodes so I count it at the beginning of S2.
Then we have Bad Hair Day, Race for the Hippo Disc, Creature Power Challenge, and Termites Versus Tongues, all of which are the first 4 ep. of S2 and take place in Africa. I consider those 3 chronologically connected. Plus, Zach recalls stealing the Creature Power Disc in one episode.
Happy Turkey Day is a Thanksgiving-related episode but I can easily consider it to be in the timeline.
Bugs or Monkeys serves as the first installment of the Central American Rainforest/Coral Reef saga. Followed by Shadow: The Black Jaguar, Rainforest Stew, Secrets of the Spider's Web, and To Touch a Hummingbird.
Then we get a bunch of episodes taking place in the Sonoran Desert. First we have Rattlesnake Crystal, which introduces the Sonoran Desert. I include this directly after the hummingbird episode because here, Aviva modifies Eyelash Viper Power for Rattlesnake Powers.
In the episode “Roadrunner” Chris and Martin say they have only JUST arrived at the Sonoran Desert. That episode’s plot is focused around the Tortuga getting a resupply, which is fitting considering they just recently crashed.
I would put “Skunked” after Roadrunner since it appears that they have enough resources by now. Then we’d get “Gila Monster Under My House,” then “Desert Elves”
Aqua Frog would come next I assume, I see no reason not to.
Groundhog Wakeup Call and Journey to the Subnivian zone have little ties to other episodes so I can place them in order of air-date. Since Attack of the Tree Eating Aliens takes place in the spring, we can have them come after those episodes.
So the Season 2 timeline goes like this:
Speaking Dolphinese → Blowfish Blowout → Rocket Jaw: Rescuer of the Reef → Seahorse Rodeo → Tortuga Tune Up → Bad Hair Day → Race for the Hippo Disc → Creature Power Challenge → Termites V. Tongues → Neck and Neck → Happy Turkey Day → Bugs or Monkeys → Shadow: The Black Jaguar → Rainforest Stew → Secret of the Spider's Web → To Touch a Hummingbird → Rattlesnake Crystal → Roadrunner → Skunked → Gila Monster Under My House → Desert Elves → Unnamed Burrowing Owl Disc Creation Episode → Aqua Frog → Journey to the Subnivian Zone → Snow Runners! → Groundhog Wakeup Call → Attack of the Tree Eating Aliens
Season 3:
Now, a lot of misconceptions have been made around Season 3 in terms of both continuity and air-date. My stance? Don’t believe a goddamn word that Google, Wikipedia, or the Wild Kratts wiki says. They have been getting the episode air-dates wrong since the very beginning, which is the reason I have to organize them.
As a longtime fan of the show who has been there since the beginning, I pretty much know the air-dates of the episodes by heart and the order.
The first episode is Hermit Crab Shell Exchange, second is Where the Bison Roam, third is Bandito: The Black Footed Ferret, fourth is When Fish Fly, fifth is Osprey. All 7 of these episodes premiered from April 7th to April 11th, 2014 as a part of PBS Kids' Wild Kratts Week, celebrating the show returning for its 3rd season.
The episode to air after that is the double-length episode, Back in Creature Time, which despite popular belief is NOT the Season 3 finale. The last episodes of Season 3 were centered around Madagascar. But before that, we see some adventures in the cypress swamp and the prairie.
Now that we’ve cleared up the misconceptions that people have had about Season 3’s episode order for the past 7 years (yeah a BIG fuck you to Wikipedia for that shit) let’s address the order continuity wise.
The first 7 episodes aired from April 7-11th as part of PBS Kids’ Wild Kratts Week! Celebrating the show’s renewal of S3. All but one would likely remain at their place. All except for Where the Bison Roam and Bandito since it introduces the prairie arc.
Back in Creature Time was after a LONG hiatus. Just to give you a good idea as to how long it was, the first 7 episodes of S3 aired in April when I was still in school, then the Back in Creature Time special aired months later long after I had moved into a different house during summer vacation.
The first episode to air after Back in Creature Time was Mosquito Dragon and Crocogator Contest (they were aired together as part of a special called “Swamp Things” but that special sucked for the same reasons why Lost at Sea did).
Now, this is something I noticed. Mosquito Bots were already invented by the time of Back in Creature Time, meaning that episode takes place after Mosquito Dragon.
And if we’re to include the cypress swamp saga, that means that Back in Creature Time comes in around the middle of the S3 timeline chronologically. That’s not even including the prairie episodes.
There were also Madagascar episodes. I consider Lemur Legs is chronologically the first of the order since the Kratts enter Madagascar here, and the finale of this arc is Golden Bamboo Lemur
This will be hard to crack, but I might be able to do it.
A thing that I noticed was that the Dragonfly Power Suits got redesigns frequently in S3. In Osprey and Mosquito Dragon, it has basket legs, resembling its S1 counterpart, but in Florida Panther and Back in Creature Time, they look completely different. In-universe, this can be credited to Aviva redesigning the suit, so I tried to arrange the episodes in a way that would make the suit's metamorphosis (pun not intended) feel less jarring than if you were watching the episodes in production order or viewing order.
So the S3 timeline is
Hermit Crab Shell Exchange → When Fish Fly → Osprey → Crocogator Contest → Mosquito Dragon → The Search for the Florida Panther → Opossum in My Pocket → Slider: The Otter → Back in Creature Time → Where the Bison Roam → Bandito: The Black Footed Ferret → The Amazing Creature Race → Prairie Who → Mystery on the Prarie → Under Frozen Pond → Capture the Fishmobiles → Praying Mantis → Lemur Legs → Chameleons on Target → Aye-Aye → Lemur Stink Fight → Tenrec Treasure Hunt → Fossa Palooza → Mini Madagascar → Golden Bamboo Lemur
Season 4:
Once again, this season was distributed out of order and the years that have passed since its release, however, as someone who, once again, watched every episode the day they aired, I can correct the misconceptions.
Firstly, the first episode of S4 was The Last Largest Lobster, and the last episode was Musk Ox Mania. The 3rd episode was A Creature Christmas, followed by 5 additional episodes, one of which introduced Paisley Paver and Rex into the show.
Now the confusion is that A Creatire Christmas aired as the 3rd episode of S4, yet animals and Creature Powers in that episode wouldn’t be introduced until later. So I’ll list down all of the episodes that come before the Christmas special.
The Last Largest Lobster comes before Stars of the Tide (they literally aired back-to-back).
Panda Power Up comes first in the China-located episodes. Next up comes Golden Snub Nosed Monkey Man. Red Panda Rescue features both Giant Panda and Snub Nosed Monkey Power, so I imagine it comes next. At the end of that episode, Aviva alludes to Red Panda Power, which is present in “The Colors of China”
Pangolin Rescue follows that (remember, all of these take place before A Creature Christmas). Along with the Two-Tusked Narwhal Adventure, the Snowy Owl Invasion, the Puffin adventure, the Other Martins, and This Orca Likes Sharks.
At this point, we’ve covered all of the pre-Christmas episodes. Now let’s do the ones we have left.
Liturgusa Krattorum, Eel-lectric!, Sea Otter Swim, Box Turtled In!, Animals Who Live to be 100 years old, Archerfish School, and many others.
Something to note is that Aviva narrates how the villains have never before teamed-up. Ignoring the fact that it is not true, that episode would have to come before Krattorum.
Here’s the timeline of S4:
The Last Largest Lobster → Stars of the Tides → Box Turtled In → The Other Martins → Sea Otter Swim → Animals who Live to be 100 Years Old → Spirit Bear → Panda Power Up → Snowy Owl Invasion → Golden Snub Nosed Monkey Man → Red Panda Rescue → The Colors of China → Pangolin Rescue → Archerfish School → Musk Ox Mania → Baby Tooth & Kid Musky → Puffin Rescue→ Mystery of the Two Horned Narwhal → This Orca Likes Sharks → A Creature Christmas → Cheetah Adopted → Eel-lectric → Liturgusa Krattorum → Creatures of the Deep Sea
Season 5:
I’m gonna throw in my personal opinion… This is my least favorite season of the show. The premiere episode, Alaska: Hero’s Journey was pretty cool and in my opinion, jumped the shark for Wild Kratts as we know it. Not only did it establish continuity with previous adventures and use it as a key-factor for the episode’s story, but it introduced a Creature Power Suit for Koki and had a very mature theme and an awesome message.
And then it went downhill from there. A lot of episodes, whilst enjoyable, felt pretty weak. Some were forgettable, and it felt like it talked down to its audience more, and there were just a lot of things that I felt didn’t work. This is where I think the show began a heavy seasonal rot and I know I'm not alone in this.
Ok, opinions aside, the time-line of this season is a lot easier to decipher than the earlier ones because there were less episodes.
Even though Alaska: Hero’s Journey was the first episode of S5 to be aired, the Bald Eagle Power Suit was shown, yet it wouldn’t be invented until The Fourth Bald Eagle.
Many listings show Mystery of the North Pole Penguins as the S5 premiere. And given that there are no continuity errors in that episode, I can see it being the start of Season 5’s storyline.
In the next episode, Temple of the Tigers, Martin and Chris head to India to adventure with tigers. A majority of S5 takes place in India, including the episode where Paisley Paver and Rex return, so I view the tiger episode as the start of the “India” arc.
There are also several episodes centered in Europe, as part of what I like to call, the “Europe” arc.
Creepy Creatures would go near the end of this timeline, as we see many S5 Creature Powers and animals by then.
So here’s the timeline for S5
Mystery of the North Pole Penguins? → Temple of the Tigers → The Dhole Duplicator → The Cobra King → Sloth Bear Suction → Elephant Brains → Cheeks the Hamster → Fire Salamander → Komodo Dragon → Wild Ponies ---> City Hoppers! → Blue Heron → Choose your Swordfish → The Erminator → Hercules: The Giant Beetle → Creepy Creatures! → The Fourth Bald Eagle → Alaska: Hero’s Journey
Season 6:
This season in my opinion, was a slight step up from the 5th season, since we get to see more interesting animals, and the writing feels a lot more breathable. The color palette, I specifically would go without, because it just looks weird. What I do like is how they recasted Koki, a character of color, to be voiced by a woman of color, and I'm glad this change is permanent.
Instantly, we get an instance of a continuity error: Martin is shown to have a Jackrabbit Power Disc in the 2nd episode of S6, yet he doesn’t get it until the Easter special, In Search of the Easter Bunny. There’s actually a reason behind this. The original title for the episode focusing on bunnies was titled “Spring Bunnies” and was listed as the Season 6 premiere, however this was cut and the bunny episode was released almost a year later. My working theory is that because of tight schedules, “Spots in the Desert” was released before the introduction of the Jackrabbit Power Disc.
We return to the Amazon once again with the double-length episode, Amazin’ Amazon Adventure and we get some newer amazon episodes after that.
In a promotional video for Hero’s Journey, the Kratt Brothers said that Season 5 would have at least 23 episodes. My guess is that they had to cut down the last 5 episodes because of COVID or something.
There are two things that stand out the most to me in this season's timeline. For starters, in the Hammerheads episodes, we see that the brothers have an Antelope Disc for the Creature Power Suit despite there being no episode centered around those creatures or introducing a Power Disc. Much like the Burrowing Owl and Gharial Discs, we're to assume that there was an adventure focusing around that animal/an invention of that Creature Power Disc that was not televised, and thus is part of this season's lineup.
The second was how in one of the first episodes of Season 7, Chris expresses a desire to adventure with wolverines, despite that happening in the previous season. So in a rare case, this has to go in a different season's timeline to remain consistent.
Anyways, let’s go onto the timeline of the most recent season. I’ll be going off of habitat here just to be consistent.
In Search of the Easter Bunny → Mystery of the Flamingo’s Pink → Spots in the Desrt → Wolf Hawks → Deer Buckaroo → Unnamed Antelope Adventure Episode → Hammerheads → The Vanishing Stingray → The Real Ant Farm → Mystery of the Mini Monkey Models → Amazin’ Amazon Adventure → The Great Froggyback Ride → Parrot Power → The Race to Goat Mountain → Iron Wolverine → Adapto the Coyote → Tartigrade Xtreme → Uh Oh-Ostrich! → The Great Creature Tail Fail → Cats and Dogs →
Season 7:
The long-awaited Season 7 has arrived as of 2023, marking the return of the show to PBS Kids after two years of a hiatus. With four episodes having been released in May of 2023 to generally positive reception from critics and audiences alike, four more episodes + a TV movie releasing in April of 2024, and the 200th episode milestone airing in S7, fans have a lot to hope for. And thankfully it means new fodder for my timeline list.
As I've said before, The Race to Goat Mountain cannot be a part of Season 7's timeline since it has to take place before their actual wolverine adventure. Until further notice, the new episodes scheduled to air next month will be ordered as they should air, it'll be less confusing to fans who are currently yet to/unable to/unwilling to see the VPN leaks.
This in of itself is purely subjective but I like to imagine that Clever the Raven would be the first episode of S7. For a few reasons. One, it was the first episode of the season to be confirmed (in an interview with Jane Goodall). Secondly, compared to Outfoxed, it felt more like a season premiere. With the fanservice-callbacks, the villains returning, the simple-structure of the plot with no rising or falling action and the episode's overall writing, it basically marks off a check-list of everything in the show that you were missing out on for 2 years and everything that you're coming back to after such a long break. Plus it's my favorite out of all of the S7 premiere episodes. Call me biased, but this one's going first.
Timeline of Season 7:
Clever the Raven → Outfoxed → Owl Odyssey → Our Blue and Green World → No Name Dream → Backpack the Camel → Fish Out of Water
CROSSOVERS:
There are three shows that Wild Kratts has crossed over with. One of which came out after I made this post, two of which before, but I decided to add them here just for the fun of it and to commit to the lore-dump of the timeline. Whether or not I'll extrapolate that into forming a huge novel about the expanded universe of PBS Kids, only time will tell.
Night Shift: (Odd Squad)
This was the first crossover the brothers had done with another show, Odd Squad, a live action math-based cartoon that is set to air its fourth season in 2024. The Kratt Brothers have their traditional live-action opening that is interrupted by Otis and Olympia solving their 'odd problem' a running gag with various different characters throughout the series as a 'cold opener.' The reason there is such a massive overlap between the two fandoms is because of that scene in the episode.
How to fit it into the canon? Well, since this is shot similarly to a Wild Kratts live action opener segment, then we can equate it with the "what if!?" element of the show. It should be noted that the Kratts are following a white-tail-deer, an animal they would later adventure with in Season 6. So you could have this episode take place directly before the "what-if?!" section of that episode that transitions into the animated story.
Wild Batts: (Nature Cat)
In 2015, PBS Kids launched a new nature based show known as "Nature Cat" featuring the titular cat and his gang of animals exploring nature. This special aired directly after Wild Kratts: A Creature Christmas, so PBS Kids often marketed both the WK Christmas special and the Nature Cat premiere, so much so that at the end of the Christmas episode, the Kratt Brothers themselves promoted the new Nature Cat special. It only made sense that these nature brothers from another mother teamed up! And thus we had Wild Batts! In this episode, Chris and Martin "Batt" have to find a new home, after their old one is destroyed, challening Nature Cat and Ronald's fear of bats in the process and learning more all about them. Several references to the Kratt's show are made, such as the classic "Living free and in the wild!"
How to fit it into the canon? In the episode's context they are literally bats, but in the context of the show itself, they would probably be in Creature Power Suits. And one thing interesting is that Chris and Martin are said to be Indiana bats, an endangered species of North American bats. We know that there is no singular Creature Power Suit for a generalized species as we've seen with the crocodillian, owl, and snake-based Power Suits. So it's possible that Aviva modified the Little Brown Bat/Vampire Bat programing with Indiana Bat Power. So this would probably take place post-Season 1. I have it take place in Season 6 since Wild Batts aired around the same time that Season 6 just started airing, ironic ain't it?
Oh, and the episode also makes bat references to other PBS Kids characters, such as Peg + Bat (Peg + Cat), George the Curious Bat (Curious George) Daniel Bat (Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood) and the Bat/Cat in the Hat. Now, the logical man within me says that these are easy puns to laugh at and not look into. However, the sick twisted fuck that is me says, connect that shit together. Since we've already established Odd Squad, we can probably say that there was an 'odd problem' turning these random PBS Kids characters into bats (probably including the Kratt Brothers if you don't buy the idea that they're in very convincing Creature Power Suits) and that the Odd Squad is able to save them with a reverse-bat-inator and they all go their separate ways, never to meet each other again until their grand return in PBS: Endgame (ok maybe I'm going too far into it but just a funny thought, also yes that is the one MCU reference I decided to cash in).
Cry Wolf: Molly of Denali
The 3rd of the Wild Kratts crossovers, airing in summer of 2022. This was a massive thing in the WK fandom, mainly because around that time, news had come out that the show would not air any new episodes until 2023, which was a massive low blow. This crossover between Wild Kratts and Molly of Denali, while not enough... at least damaged this blow and is an okay entry point to Molly of Denali, another pretty damn good PBS Kids show.
The Kratt Brothers help Molly and her dad track a missing pack of endangered wolves, learning more about them on the way. In the episode it's established that Molly is a huge fan of Wild Kratts, referencing their show a lot, implying that the Kratts we see here are 2D representations of their IRL selves rather than their 2D-in-universe selves. Still, I came here to overanalyze, and overanalyze I shall! Since the Kratts did their whole "what-if!?" skit in Odd Squad, then I could see the same happening here, just not being necessary for the episode's plot. I'll suspend my disbelief again because what the hell.
How to fit it into the canon? I'd have it come between Season 6 and 7. It aired around that time, and again, it was almost certainly done so as compensation for making fans wait 2 years for the new season to drop. Plus it lines up with my headcanon of Clever the Raven being the first in S7's timeline, since the brothers would still be in the mood to adventure with wolves.
So to conclude, all of these crossovers I see as very recent in the show, you could cut them out and lose nothing, but add them in and get more of something, which is what I'm doing. In terms of timeline to the crossovers specifically, here it goes.
Wild Batts → Night-Shift → Cry Wolf
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

happy may!! you know what that means…
kit9 progress report #5
this time, we get these two images:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
brand new andrew sprite!! clearly something is wrong. it isn’t out of the question to assume that this andrew is probably possessed. i don’t think andrew would be making that face while talking to himself about camping of all things. he’s on his own, somewhere, with a perfectly good demon-summoning setup right there! i wonder where ashley is?
and, speaking of ashley, we have the… kind of intense second picture. yeah, i know, cannibalism and incest game and i find her crying to be intense. but, we’ve never seen ashley cry before. we’ve seen her shout whine and pout, and we’ve seen her hysterical, but we’ve never seen her full-on sobbing. she looks so defeated :( her makeup is messy, her eyes are flat, and she just generally doesn’t look like she’s having a nice time. i’ve seen people assume that she’s thinking about andrew here, and i agree! who else could make ashley feel so bad??
(poor girl…)
next, we have a new video!!
youtube
here are some screenshots:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
lots to dissect here!!
i think this place is the same abandoned place we saw in the previous devlog! which is, of course, the abandoned factory that we know they played at as kids. we don’t see much of the building from the flashbacks with nina in episodes one and two, but the implication is there.
second, andrew accidentally summoned a demon!! as an adult, he’s proud of ashely for doing the same thing. well, hers was on purpose, even if she got there accidentally. anyway, i wonder what kind of “deal” actually happened, because i don’t think this demon hated vegetables like carrots and broccoli. this post proposes that the term “vegetables” has something to do with cannibalism…
…i hope it’s not as ableist as it sounds, but… maybe…?
andy wakes up some time later, laying in the circle when he wasn’t before, and is covered in red flowers. we see these same red flowers in ashley’s demon-dreams. the summoning circle is different than the ones we’ve seen so far, but we learned with andrew and ashley’s parents that the layout of the circle and pentagrams don’t exactly matter when summoning demons. it can be an oval, there could be any number of smaller pentagrams, it’s whatever. that may be because of the trinket ashley has, but lord unknown was able to be summoned instead of ashley’s demon, so who knows!
andy questions how he passed out, and says that he “thought [he] ate enough at lunch.” we already know the graves’ parents aren’t the best, and we know that they severely neglected ashley. we also know that mr. graves neglected andrew, and couldn’t even remember his name. it wouldn’t surprise me if andy and leyley went without food sometimes, or even frequently, or more often than not. and, it wouldn’t surprise me if andrew prioritized ashley eating over himself eating, too. it’s something that i’ll keep in mind going in to episode three!!
we see leyley scream in the video, and the player as andy rushes to her. the youtube video cuts off before andy leaves this room, but it makes me wonder: what would make leyley scream? she isn’t yelling, either at someone or something, and we’ve seen that she’s pretty unimpressed with stuff that’d usually make kids upset (abandoned buildings, dead bodies, murder, horror movies, and more). so, what happened? did she see something? hear something? who or what would make leyley scream?
hmm…
also, a workaround has been found for the technical issues mentioned last devlog, which i’m happy about! they’re now focusing on enhancing the editor tools to hopefully get back on track to “make up for lost time,” as they said. i’m still super excited for episode three!!!

Tom Disventure Camp needs a time out >_>
I made a post before DCAS started about Jake where I pretty much said, to sum it up, ‘Sure he’s a mess but he’s a justified mess 😊’ now that All Stars has started airing… I have some thoughts 😓. I’ll get to Jake another time. Maybe 😊. This is about Tom. Because I have a bone to pick with Officer Tom <_<
Let’s start with a flashback to Season 1. I cover the gist of what happened between him and Jake in the aforementioned Jake post. But what I didn’t mention is at the END of Disventure Camp season 1, Tom and Jake have a final conversation and they agree that they while they both still have feelings for each other, they shouldn’t get back together yet because they’re both pretty messed up. Jake asks if he’ll still talk to him and Tom says “I think we should take some time and grow as people. We are on the right path, but starting anything could ruin that. We’ll see where we are later in 🙂” and earlier in the finale he’d promised to keep in touch with Miriam. Sounds promising no? :3
Come All Stars, we find out Tom hasn’t talked to Jake OR Miriam at all in the last two years! ._. Now, listen, Jake and Tom’s relationship was… tumultuous. To say the least. And Tom DID say they should take some time apart. But he did NOT say… ‘Hey let’s go out of our way to avoid each other like the plague’ 😶 All Jake wants is clarity on where they stand. Are they friends? Are there still feelings between them? Is there even a chance they can reconcile at all? That’s all Jake wants.
If Tom can’t give him that, he should just say that. If Tom doesn’t want to be Jake’s friend, he should just say that. If Tom has moved on with someone else, say it with me now, he should just SAY that ._. And the kicker is… Tom was the one who got onto Jake so hard about communication in season one! .-. Now, Jake is TRYING to get Tom to talk to him and nothing .-. It’s understandable if Tom is still hurt over what happened in their season. All Stars has shown he can still hold a grudge with Ellie. But if he IS hurt… You know the pattern 😊 He should just say that >_>
Oh ho, and I’m not done. It gets worse. On top of avoiding Jake like the plague… He’s also being a massive hypocrite in regards to Jake 😶 In episode 4 the challenge is to get a sandbag and bring it back to the starting point, and the other players can use any means necessary to get the bag from you. Tom takes and throws Ally’s glasses then ALSO trips Grett later on. When Jake tackles Aiden to get the bag he has and gets the point, Tom gets petty and says ‘Wow! Real nice Jake 🙄’ .-. Tom… come on now ._. You know you’re being a dumb ass 😶
Episode 6, our latest episode, Ellie insists for their performance the two couples, her and Gabbie and Aiden and Tom, HAVE to kiss at the end of the song. Now… I don’t think I have to hold your hand and explain to you why that’s fucked up 😶 Especially because she EXPLICITLY said the only reason she did it was to psychologically fuck with Jake .-. Ugh >_> Sorry, this ain’t about Ellie, this is about Tom <_<. Tom, in a confessional, says “I haven’t talked to Jake yet and this kiss with Aiden will make it even weirder between us than it already is (who’s fault is that Tom >_>). What should I do? >_<“ And it’s like… Gee Tom… I dunno. Maybe you should TALK TO JAKE! ._. And yes, I know they’re on different teams. But Alec pulled someone from both of the other teams to form the villain alliance soooo… not like it’s impossible to talk to people from other teams .-.
In conclusion: Tom is pissing me off >_> Jake is on the rise, and I love to see it as a Jake lover and defender :3… Okay Jake has had his annoying moments too >_> but lately? Tom is the more annoying one 😶

I just don’t like Violet from Wordgirl. To be honest, I think she’s a bad friend.
I’d like to say: Violet is not a bad character. Some people may find her annoying, but I really don’t! Violet is fudging hilarious, her delivery is perfect and the show wouldn’t be the same without her.
But I don’t think she’s a good friend.
To clarify, this is an opinion! It’s not fact! I think early season Violet is a sweetheart and deteriorated later on. If you disagree? Great! Opinions are awesome!
Also, I know they’re ten haha, so don’t take this too seriously. I hold Violet to much different standards than I would an actual 10-year-old.
Also: I know Becky isn’t perfect! She has her off moments, but I think we see consistent effort from her to be as good a friend as she can.
I think there’s more to this story than just the events of “Rhyme and Reason”, but I think they’re worth acknowledging.
She reacts poorly, getting upset, offended, etc….but she isn’t the only one to go through this.
Scoops finds out about her secret identity as well, and expresses that he’s offended by it- but he does not go through the same guilt-tripping theatrics that Violet does. Yes, Violet and Becky are closer friends than Scoops and Becky, but it’s worth acknowledging.
I’ll elaborate more on Rhyme and Reason later. There’s another episode that I think displays some issues with Violet as a friend.
In “Too Loud Crew”, Becky- after avoiding being truthful- admits that she doesn’t feel comfortable at Violet’s house. Violet immediately takes offense to this- “Well, maybe I don’t feel comfortable at YOUR house!”- storming off, etc.. We see why Becky is uncomfortable at her house (the singing stone and things of the sort), and even while she’s trying to apologize Violet insists that she has to follow the house rules.
In the end, Violet says “just tell me how you feel next time”….and she did! This line wouod be more understandable if she overheard Becky complaining about Violet’s house to someone else, but Becky did tell her how she felt. Yes, this is nitpicky, I realize that…..for me, another example of something that I wouldn’t get mad at if there weren’t so many other things I was made at.
It’s sad, because I don’t think Violet was always a bad friend. Especially in the early Birthday Girl episodes (I.e. The Birthday Girl and Slumber Party Pooper) she seems much more genuine and does much more for Becky’s sake.
Upon watching “Slumper Party Pooper”, (an episode where Violet accidentally tells Eileen about Wordgirl’s slumber party, and she comes to disrupt it) @skwangly-fingers and I joked that if this were a later episode, Violet would be mad that Becky was ruining Eileen’s birthday. Though we were joking, we do think there’s a sharp decline in Violet’s overall “good-friend-ness”.
Something else that rubs me the wrong way is that Violet wins who matter what. I don’t think this in itself makes her a bad person and would be funny to me if it didn’t feel like she always gets whatever she wants.
For example, in “A Vote for Becky” she wins the class election without even running. This is played as a joke, and isn’t really Violet’s fault- but I think how often she gets things she didn’t even ask for has not helped my resentment towards this child.
Art’s Parts is an episode I think is worth mentioning. It displays negative traits from both Becky and Violet….and I think my main issue with it is that the argument of “which is more powerful, art or words?” only ends with Becky realizing art is powerful, not both sides learning to understand each other…..which (this could be incorrect) feels like a theme in the show. Becky always seems to bend to fit Violet’s wants, but barely vice versa.
I think Violet gets much more upset during their argument than necessary, but so does Becky. The argument is here at 2:15 https://youtu.be/clKDbs6XqrQ?si=De4XZwaObUuHJIN8. This scene I felt was important to include.
I just think as the series goes on, she becomes more ignorant to Becky’s feelings.
Now, onto everyone’s talking point: Rhyme and Reason.
I would like to point out that evidence finding out Wordgirl is Becky, Violet seemed to really look up to Wordgirl, at least early on. She makes some less than flattering remarks, but we have to remind ourselves that Violet did not realize she was talking to Wordgirl herself when she said them.
I think Violet’s theatrics when she discovers Becky’s identity don’t paint her in a very flattering light. Yes, I understand that it’s there to build suspense, and I think it’s very good writing! But keeping some of her other behavior in mind, it can really come across like Violet is playing mind games with her.
“All you’ve ever done is lie to me.” I understand that she is emotional, and that could be causing her to say some things she doesn’t truly mean, but this line especially rubs me the wrong way, especially because Violet never apologizes, nor is she ever implied to be in the wrong, when I’d argue that she is for at least some of what she says.
I think it’s the difference between “Have you ever meant anything you’ve said?” and “All you’ve ever done is lie to me.” One is a genuine question born out of emotion, one feels more as though it comes from a place of bitterness.
Again, I think the moment is masterfully written, but I don’t think it’s very flattering to Violet. And again, I don’t think this scene would bother me so much if Violet herself didn’t do so much outside of it to provoke me.
I think Athena P puts her opinions very well. I don’t agree with everything she says, but I think it’s important to include (also, Athena P is one of my favorite YouTubers. Very based. Pog, if you will. Go watch her, she has some spicy takes but is very entertaining and is the person who got me into the show.)
ATHENA P: “So at first I thought Violet infuriated me because she gets everything she wants. She’s dating Scoops- the guy Becky likes-, she was the lead in the school play, she even won class president despite her not even running. But what really threw me over the edge was the Halloween episode where she’s just eating up that everyone thinks she’s Wordgirl……
But what really gets me, the real reason I am beefing with this ten year old, is her entitlement.
In Too Loud Crew, Becky tries expressing to Violet that she just feels uncomfortable in Violet’s house. So instead of Violet hearing out her friend, she immediately jumps to defensiveness. Why don’t you want to come over to my house? Oh, you’re uncomfortable? I always hang out at your house! So Becky, as always, tries to compromise, she goes over to Violet’s house and tries to make herself comfortable until Violet points out that Becky is holding the SINGING stone which means that Becky has to sing her feelings- actually, it was even stupider…”
“I really think that they wrote her to be annoying. So if anyone feels otherwise I’m sorry but this is my video. This leads me to the two-part series finale where Violet realizes that Becky is Wordgirl. This earth-shattering realization leads Violet to say that they can’t be friends anymore and she doubts they were ever friends to begin with- Violet, you are not the first person to realize that Becky is Wordgirl and no one has reacted this mellow-dramatically.
I understand the use of the “I feel lied and deceived” trope, I understand that it builds tension and makes people feel like they weren’t let in on an important part of their important friend’s life. That being said, it’s also just stupid. I’m sorry. I think they dropped the ball in the finale. I don’t think they’re realized it was gonna be a series finale, ‘cause it was a fine season finale.
I also don’t blame Becky for not telling Violet when Violet couldn’t even keep her mouth shut about Becky’s first sleepover to the only person Becky didn’t want to invite! …. My theory is that Violet isn’t used to her friend being the exceptional one.
She’s used to her friend being a word nerd but not THE word nerd. She even says something along the lines of, “but you’re not just Becky! You’re Wordgirl, you’re so much more” which if I were Becky I’d be very insulted by.”
If you have any disagreements or anything you think I should add to this post, please let me know! All I ask is that you’re respectful….I wouldn’t hold real ten-year-olds to the standard I hold Violet to, haha!
Again, this is my opinion, if you like Violet, great! Again, I think she’s charming and funny, I just think she’s not the greatest friend.

Toph was forced into joining Team Avatar more than she chose to do so[Toph meta]
Team Avatar didn’t intend this to happen, but their actions inadvertently led to this situation.
Before I begin, I would like to note that the conventional narrative surrounding Toph’s decision to join with the Gaang usually amounts to something like “Toph joined up because she was unhappy with her life with her parents and wanted a life of adventure.” At least, that’s what I thought until I happened to have a moment of insight recently. I happened to see a post which reminded me of this exchange from “The Chase”:
Katara: Ever since joining us you've been nothing but selfish and unhelpful. Toph: What? (Doing a half turn and pointing at Katara again.) Look here, sugar queen, (Drops arm and continues, Katara makes a gesture like she wants to interject.) I gave up everything I had so that I could teach Aang earthbending, so don't you talk to me about being selfish!
This didn’t exactly correspond to the conventional wisdom on why she joined Team Avatar. As we shall see, it doesn’t exactly correspond with the reality of what happened, either, yet it’s easy to see why Toph feels that way.
In “The Blind Bandit,” Toph’s introductory episode, Team Avatar try to recruit Toph since Aang thinks she’s destined to be his earthbending teacher. Their first real exchange goes like this:
Aang: (airbending himself to his feet) Well, a crazy king told me I had to find an earthbender who listens to the earth. And then I had a vision in a magic swamp and... Katara: (cutting Aang off) What Aang is trying to say is, he's the Avatar, and if he doesn't master earthbending soon he won't be able to defeat the Fire Lord. (The Bandit sticks her open hand in Katara's face, who looks taken aback.) Toph: Not my problem. Now get out of here or I'll call the guards. Sokka: Look, we all have to do our part to win this war. And yours is to teach Aang earthbending. (Cut to a shot of the Bandit's back as Sokka speaks. When he concludes, she turns around, looking distraught.) Toph: Guards! Guards, help!
Toph declines the offer to join, while demonstrating she doesn’t care that much about the war or regard it as her job to help lead the Earth Kingdom to victory.
Later on, Aang and Toph have a more substantial exchange:
Toph: Even though I was born blind, I've never had a problem seeing. (They reach the end of the bridge and she jumps off the guardrail and lands on the ground.) Toph: I see with earthbending. It's kind of like seeing with my feet. I can feel the vibrations in the earth, and I can see where everything is. You, that tree, even those ants. (The screen zooms backward three times as Toph speaks, each time showing a wider overhead shot of the pair. At the mention of the ants, cut to a shot from ground level showing Aang and Toph in the background. In the foreground, some ants are silhouetted waling across over a mound of dirt. Aang looks around, but is unable to see that ants that Toph is talking about. He finally turns to her with a smile.) Aang: That's amazing. Toph: (frustrated) My parents don't understand. They've always treated me like I was helpless. Aang: Is that why you became The Blind Bandit? Toph: Yeah. Aang: Then why stay here where you're not happy? Toph: They're my parents. Where else am I supposed to go? Aang: (pause, then with a smile) You could come with us. Toph: Yeah. You guys get to go wherever you want. No one telling you what to do, that's the life. It's just not my life. (The camera slowly zooms in on Toph as she speaks. When she concludes, her head turns suddenly as she senses something amiss. She drops to her knees and places a hand on the ground.)
Toph emphasizes that she feels the allure of the Gaang’s lifestyle and freedom, but also that she wants to remain home with her parents, even though she has to hide who she is from them and they don’t understand her.  Although this isn’t directly stated, a huge issue here is that she deeply loves them and doesn’t want to leave them. Her real wish is that her parents would not only love her but understand her and allow her openly live the kind of active life she loves.
Obviously, Toph and Aang soon get kidnapped, and Toph has to step up to save Aang in front of her parents and show them the other side of her to their disbelieving eyes.
Katara: Toph, there's too many of them. We need an earthbender. We need you! (Toph, Lao and Yu turn to look backwards, then cut to a shot of Lao.) Lao: (angry) My daughter is blind. (camera pans down and to the left to reveal Toph, holding her father's hand) She is blind and tiny and helpless and fragile. (Toph closes her eyes) She cannot help you. (Toph snaps her hand back from her father's.) Toph: Yes, I can.
Note, however, that she never says anything in this scene which amounts to a commitment to join Team Avatar.
Soon Toph has defeated her opponents, and she, her parents, and Team Avatar sit down for a chat.
Toph: Dad, I know it's hard for you to see me this way, but the obedient little helpless blind girl that you think I am just isn't me. I love fighting. I love being an earthbender. And I'm really, really good at it. I know I've kept my life secret from you, but you were keeping me secret from the whole world. You were doing it to protect me. But I'm twelve years old and I've never had a real friend. So now that you see who I really am, I hope it doesn't change the way you feel about me. Lao: Of course it doesn't change the way I feel about you, Toph. It's made me realize something. Toph: (hopeful) It has? Lao: Yes. I've let you have far too much freedom. From now on, you will be cared for and guarded 24 hours a day. Toph: But dad! Mrs. Bei Fong: We are doing this for your own good, Toph.
Note that Toph does not actually ask for her parent’s permission to join Team Avatar. She doesn’t even mention the possibility, nor does she say anything which amounts to her agreeing to do so if her parents give her permission. In fact, from what we’ve seen in this episode, it’s not clear if anyone has ever actually unambiguously articulated the fact that Team Avatar wants Toph to join them as Aang’s earthbending teacher to Toph’s parents.
Instead, what Toph asks her parents to do is accept her as who she is.  She wants their acceptance of who she really is more than anything. It seems like what she wants to do is to be able to live an active lifestyle while staying with her parents, wants them to love her for who she is while allowing her to combine her lives. She doesn’t want to leave with Team Avatar, she wants to stay at home and live a free life with loving, understanding parents. It’s not clear if Team Avatar understands that this is what she’s asking for, though.
Of course, Toph’s parents reject this, and instead tell her that they will do everything they can to control her, eliminate her double life, and prevent from being active at all. Hence the following exchange:
Aang: I'm sorry, Toph. Toph: I'm sorry, too. Goodbye, Aang.
This is just about the only lines in the episode you could plausibly read as evidence Toph had already decided she wanted to join Team Avatar.
When Team Avatar first arrived, Toph had a choice:  she could either continue to live her double life even though she felt unhappy since her parents didn’t accept the real her, or she could leave them behind for a life of adventure. She choose the former. Due to the unintended consequences of Team Avatar’s actions, she no longer had that choice by the end of the episode. She could only choose between becoming nothing more than her parent’s perfect, controlled, doll, or joining the Gaang. Both what she really wanted(her parents’ acceptance of the real her) and the compromise she could live with were gone. Hence the following scene:
Cut to a shot of the bushes behind them. Toph runs through them, breathing heavily. Aang's turns to see her with a look of wonder.) Aang: Toph! What are you doing here? Toph: My dad changed his mind. He said I was free to travel the world. Sokka: (he and Katara look at each quickly) Well, we'd better get out of here - before your dad changes his mind again. Toph: Good idea. Aang: You're gonna be a great teacher, Toph. Toph: (slyly) Speaking of which, I want to show you something. Aang: Okay. (Aang airbends himself out of Appa's driver's seat. As he lands in front of Toph, she taps the ground with her foot and a rock erupts from the ground, throwing Aang out of the frame. Cut to a shot from the branches of a nearby tree. Aang hangs from one of them by his feet.) Toph: Now we're even.
This makes it understand why Toph was carrying around so much resentment in the next episode she appears in “The Chase,” and why she was so willing to leave the Gaang behind then.

My thoughts for what I think the new Helluva episode is ganna be like:
- Probably more Moxxie’s a wimp jokes/crude pegging jokes regarding Millie and how his wife takes charge in the relationship
- Crimson is either just going to be a jerk or actually evil with an evil plan that kicks off the fight scene later.
- More Blitz being a dick yet slightly supportive of Moxxie so they can show that he also “cares”.
- Maybe another “Moxxie’s fat” joke since the writers are obsessed with that joke for some reason.
- Millie does nothing throughout the entire episode besides stand there, yell and be aggressive at Chaz and only then moves once the epic shark mafia fight scene happens, which will probably take up the majority of the last few minutes of the episode.
- Bonus points if Crimson and Blitz end up having this weird sexual tension like Blitz and Striker did.
- More Moxxie going through the same damn arc of learning he’s enough the way he is but his bad boi daddy berates him. I’m expecting a “bad ass” moment of Moxxie standing up for himself and pointing the gun at his father to one up him.
- Definitely more mlm fetishization and a hyper sexual Chaz with many dick jokes and gay jokes because we already know he’s going to sing a song about how much he wants to bone Moxxie.
- The episode will probably be about 22 minutes like the previous one and yet I have the feeling most of it will be the characters just sitting around until the fight scene happens, aka I feel like most of this is ganna be pointless filler.
- Either Crimson is ganna stay evil by the end or they’ll pull another abusive ass lesson of “I was just tryna toughen you up” at an attempt for an emotional heartfelt scene.
- Stolas will probably not be in this episode but he might be mentioned once so the fans can get their daily Stolitz fanservice, unless the episode is ganna act like the previous one never happened and portray Blitz as sad again. Bonus points if they actually DO cram Stolas in here since I know Viv can’t go one second without shoving him into every episode.
- This episode will probably be better animation wise but fast paced.
- Blitz honestly seems like he doesn’t need to be in this episode at all unless they’re doing the same thing they did in episode 5 where they PAINT it as another character’s episode but then turn it into a Blitz episode.
- I’m expecting another “Uwu pity Blitz” scene, maybe Crimson tries to manipulate him or just spew cliche hurtful things but either way I feel like they’ll find a way to have Blitz be the main star for the episode.
- The episode will probably get revolved and end in another rushed half assed way.
And that’s all I got. Again I’m not watching the episode but I can’t wait to see what other critic blogs think, and once I read the events of what happened, I’ll just go off from that.

The Visual Genius Behind UY2022 [Animation]- An Analysis 🧐 (Long Post)
Hai there, hope you’re having a great day! Today on ‘Yuca Analyzes Silly Things (For No Reason)’, we’ll be talking the next half about how the remake uses different methods and techniques to achieve the fun aesthetic it’s known for as well as analyzing colors!
Note: There’s a lot to talk about when it comes to this topic, so I might not be able to cover ‘everything’, So I’m only analyzing sub- topics which comes to mind. And all of my sayings are merely observations based on what is shown and is not canonical fact in how the series was made (there’s the chance that a different approach was used as well after all). They are not confirmed unless specifically mentioned.
You can read Part 1 here!
And with all of that aside, let’s begin!
Tumblr media
First, We’ll divide the analysis into sections to make it easier to understand and explain, for this part we’ll be talking about:
But, first…
Colors, colors and colors!
Smooth and Fun Animation
Miscellaneous
Conclusion
But, first… …I want to talk about something I missed previously, which I was reminded by the notes in one of the reblogs, which is.. The shape of Lum’s eyes (I’ve thought of this before but I forgot to write about it). Lum’s eyes in the remake are a bit different to how it is in the later parts of the manga. There, it shares the same shape as Shinobu’s eyes for example, but here it looks more like her earlier eye design:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why this? I’ve though about it and I was reminded of a RT interview I had read where she said:
Tumblr media
Of course, Lum’s eyes changed as time went because of her artistic evolution, but I think this might be one of the reasons her ‘slanted’ eyes were kept, as in to pay homage to the early art style. It could also be because they wanted to give her more unique eye shape compared to the other girls…
Colors, colors and colors! Now onto one of my favorite things in general….
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
…Color Palettes (and monochrome colors as well, but we’ll include that in this for now because I don’t want to create a separate section for that one)!! I absolutely love the remake’s use of colors!! In general they make scenes even more eye catching than they normally would, but there are cases where the use of color palettes are complete genius, which I will prove with a few examples…
Tumblr media
Our first example is from episode 1, when Ataru meets Lum’s dad. When the scenes swaps from Lum’s dad’s greeting to Ataru screaming “ONIII!!” The background with Mr. Invader (Not his actual name, but I’m calling him that because it’s easier) gets color paletted (I’m pretty sure that’s not a word but whatever…). If you look closely and if you’re familiar with Japanese mythology, you can see that Lum’s dad is colored red with light yellow horns…. Just like the actual Oni from the myths…
Tumblr media
I also love how well colors are used to elevate extreme emotions, most often shock or surprise…
Tumblr media
(Lmao, I just realized both siblings had the exact same SHOCK sequence… I do have to note that the duplicating method adds to the sequence as well…)
Tumblr media
That’s all the images I’ll show since these are pretty easy to find… The aspect that makes this better is the fact that since in the 80’s cell animation couldn’t have stuff like blending modes and special effects and stuff that digital animation has nowadays, they had to rely on color usage like this as well…
Tumblr media
So at the same time it’s like a nice little shout out to cell animation in general…
And also a moment of appreciation of how this scene was handled…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since the manga is in black and white, you can’t tell the difference between ink and blood since they’re both colored black. It’s a bait which is difficult to convey into anime because it’s in color and blood and ink are suddenly no longer alike because of the colors, the remake manages to convey it with the power of color palettes and monochrome colors it had in the first place as shown above for a well done bait joke… And finally, it’s just outright pretty…
Tumblr media
Smooth and Fun Animation Now to talk about the animation itself! First up we have a small detail I like. Do you know about the method used to make the animation extra fluid and kinda cartoony by drawing in something that doesn’t seem right in the frame but helps in the animation overall (I don’t know what it’s called)? Well, this particular method results in a frame or two in a scene to look like:
Tumblr media
It’s a method the original anime used A LOT for it’s characters, even for that particular era. Since most modern anime aren’t doesn’t have a cartoony style like UY, they don’t use it (they use other methods instead). So what about the remake???
Tumblr media
Yup, the remake has it’s moments as well.. The animation in general is like most modern anime with some cartoonish movements from more cartoony characters like Ataru (pictured above and) and Rei (Cow-Pig form). I also love how beautiful the animation is in the second half of episode 5 and 10, most of the details are pretty obvious there so I won’t talk about it, but here’s one of the smaller details I like…
Tumblr media
GIF by Kedyanime
I love how the clouds move slowly, like how it naturally would, like they didn’t have to do that yet they did it anyway and that’s quite the effort and it adds to the scene overall…
Miscellaneous This section is more about the miscellaneous aspects, or to be specific ,three other things I noted which also contributes to the animation aspect. First up, SFX. SFX is what you call the Japanese Onomatopoeia (or sound effects) which is written on screen. It’s mostly used in manga than anime because manga isn’t an audible type of media, unlike anime, which is. Because of that, not many anime uses it and only a certain do, which includes the UY remake. Not only does it add a bit more to the scene, but it also makes it more enjoyable because of the voice acting since the voice actors read every SFX out, where it sounds silly enough (in Japanese at least, the English dub is on a whole different level). Next up, Backgrounds. Okay, so when I started the remake’s first episode I was in awe as to how the backgrounds for the scenes look, like it’s very pastel compared to the saturated colors of everything else, not to mention, very detailed…
Tumblr media
Also, let’s appreciate how beautiful the backgrounds for outer space looks…
Tumblr media
Another thing I like is the stock backgrounds, stock backgrounds are pretty common in anime, but I love how the remake uses it to play up and convey the character’s emotion by making the stock lines move according to how their expressions elevate…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moving on, Can we appreciate how retro and traditional it looks when they color like this (this is actually based on a method of coloring from the 80’s after all)??
Tumblr media
And finally appreciation for the beautiful lighting…
Tumblr media
Conclusion And that is All! The remake is absolutely stunning with very beautiful details which I can’t help but love and you can really see a lot of love was put into it. This ended up being more of an appreciation post than an analysis, lol 😅. Anyways, I apologize if I’ve overlooked anything or made any mistakes. If you have any doubts or questions about this analysis feel free to send an ask and if you want me to do an analysis about other characters, feel free to send an ask for that as well. You can check out my other analysis on my analysis tag.  And finally, likes are appreciated and reblogs are even more appreciated (seriously, please reblog this so more people can see this post, since I spent a lot of time on this!!). Hope you have a great day ahead!! :)

Tokyo Mew Mew New Ep 18 Toughts
Again this episode left me without words, i don’t know how or where to start. Guess I’ll start by saying what i liked the most
Number one gotta be kid Ryou playing scientist in his dad lab. not that the original depection of him was bad but this time I feel like he’s really into science, his father steps, the mew project everything
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The original japanese subs said UMA which stands for Unidentified Mysterious Animal
Tumblr media
ACTUAL SCIENCE AND UMA DNA LET’S GOOOOOO
Tumblr media
From Keiichiro biography card,
Tumblr media
this confirms his adoptation into the Shirogane family
The foreshadowing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ryo’s father acknolodging his a must better scientist and researcher than him
Knowing the burdens Ryou will have if he continues the follow his foosteps
Aoyama nightmares continue, everything is under this blueish grey atmosphere, Darkness and ugly thoughts are consuming his mind
The Chimeras
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They appeared cause Ryou was researching UMA? Or where the aliens already stablished on Earth? I hope we get answers to this
They have a gem, so it’s probably they were infused with an alien parasite by either the aliens or whatever Ryou was researching had escaped the lab
Family
Tumblr media
Even though the shirogane family interaction with Keiichiro was short, i loved it, somehow I felt like he was a cared for member of their family and because of that the outcome was more emotional.
Tumblr media
THANKS GOD, NEW DIDN’T MADE IT LOOK LIKE A SUICIDE LIKE IN THE MANGA OR A RANDOM FIRE STARTING LIKE IN THE ORIGINAL. She tried ... :( Mew Project The rest develops like in the manga and the original with Ryou having memorized everything but this time we get a glimpse into the research
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They went to every spot that had the RDA they needed for research, based. We also see this two characters growing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I never about this because how cat Ryou looks in the original, but IS HE SUPPOSED TO BE A BLUE RUSSIAN?
Tumblr media
Having Ichigo mention us, the mews, just  confirms what I’ve been saying, he cares for all the same way
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A bit of character development on Ichigo side, she’s feeling guilty for the way she treats him, despite him caring for their safety even if its his fault that they’re in this situation, what a loop.
Tumblr media
I love that they keep focusing on green enviromental solutions, more care for the enviroment, animals, plants, etc like we’d seen at the end of every TMM volume with WWF, this is the basic idea of TMM.
Tumblr media
Nice plot idea for the aliens
Tumblr media
It’s still a enemy of the day kinda of plot but with some truth behind its actions I LOVE IT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Can confirm this, I live near a river (Rio Tejo) and since the waters are more clean now every year we get visits from a dolphin family (will share videos later)
Confrontations
Tumblr media Tumblr media
More Pie x Lettuce confrontation, YES YES YES, let’s develop this please, I want them to have a debate with each other
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lettuce stepping up, Ryou worried with her safety,, all it took was for her to stand firm in her belives, she was the best Mew for the job and she belives she can handle it then she’ll try no matter what, I know its hard to see but when Ryou’s looking at the red sea we can see a white thing moving, its Lettuce and Masha being swept away, that’s why Ryou says this line
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love how she relied on everyone trusting her to find the courage to keep going.
Tumblr media
Preverance wins
Tumblr media
The rainbow detail, thanks to the (mew) aqua and being sunny :’)
Tumblr media
MVP, and the day is saved
Tumblr media
Having the Nlue Knight not wanting Ichigo to fight anymore and only protecting her keeps following like the manga, I’ll share my thoughts when the reveal episode is released, to avoid spoilers for non-manga readers.
Tumblr media
I loved Ryou’s reaction, as far as they all know, he can’t be trusted, he might be a manipulative character. Altough..... this leave little space to Ichigo wondering his identidy, because RYOU AND KEIICHIRO ARE RIGHT THERE
Tumblr media
<3, Ichigo seeing her teammates are evolving, its so sweet
Tumblr media
Aoyama ruining the mood XD but after what he witnessned on TV is normal for him to think that way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I intreperted Ichigo line to what Aoyama said before, she’s not wondering about her relationship with him she said she’s happy being near him, she’s wondering about the planet’s conditions
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This reverts back to episode 1, what can she do to protect the planet
I wonder what kind of approach will TMMN take to make Ichigo mind at ease, will it end with the final Mew Aqua, will it continue and develop to A La Mode? If she decides to follow alongside Aoyama’s dream, I hope they give us  a glimpse into A La Mode story.

Everything you need to know about Hello Charlotte: Delirium!
I played delirium ages ago and, between the short length and non-canonical status, forgot about it :( It definitely has less to offer than the other main games in the series, but there is absolutely some worthwhile stuff in it.
Firstly: Delirium was released in 2017, right between ep2 and ep3. It does not exist within the main timeline, and is instead an AU, where Seth (and puppeteers as a whole) does not exist. It takes place shortly after the events of ep1, and follows a Charlotte who lacks her usual morality and kindness.
Just like the first game, this one is a little tricky to analyze in the main continuity because of it’s AU status. However, looking at the time it was released, it’s safe to assume ep3 was in development and that this is at least mostly in-line with the world and mechanics of ep3 and all it entails (in regards to Charles, mother, etc etc)
I’ll point out the most important takeaways here, but keep an eye out for future posts where I will comment on some specific lines/screenshots :)
As far as we can tell, all of the same rules of the House apply in this world. While  it’s never specified, I would read this as a random channel, spotlighting one of the many Charlottes made by Mother. She’s likely a defective vessel, like Q84, and for that reason doesn’t have a puppeteer.
She probably also doesn’t have the parasite, as she (again, like q84) shows no inclination to fit the expected proper behavior. (Once again, a lot of speculation. Sadly, that's the brunt of what I’ll have to say on this game.)
What we do know is that:
the tenants exist (unlike in ep2, where Scarlotte made them into delusions) and Charlotte is on good terms with them.
Charlotte has the oracle, and unlike Scarlotte, does not seem to have trouble using its power.
Charlotte has the best relationship with Anri (they’re dating!) and interestingly, Anri’s design is the most different from her true realm design, even though the other characters look relatively the same.
Charlotte has some level of self-awareness in regards to Scarlett, the endless/repeating nature of the House and the “god of this world”. more on this later.
As mentioned above that Charlotte has the Oracle’s power, she uses this to transport to “another world”. For now, I would picture this as a different channel, like the ones Charlotte goes through in the first episode.
Charlotte is either functionally or completely immortal. She shows no averse reaction to both being experimented on by the workers, nor by losing her hand, which immediately grows back. (It’s interesting that she heals rather than switching to new bodies like Q84, but I don’t know if that actually has any significance.) I assume she can’t die until her story in “finished”.
We have a new character to the series, in Osiris. He doesn’t appear in any other game (due to Charlotte finding him in in the new world) and liek many other characters, has a symbolic name. Osiris is the Egyptian god of the underworld. I currently haven’t found any significance for the choice of name except that at the end of the game he controls and destroys the mechanical network, reminiscent of a reaper-like figure.
This Charlotte cannot rewind- most likely due to the absence of Seth, but it also raises questions as to whether or not she has a soul cube. In it’s place as the save file is “memory”. This probably ties to the earlier point about her immortality!
Like most of ane’s games, it dips into commentary about consumption, technology, and capitalism. This game the most out of the three brings technology into the discussion, especially with Osiris who is an AI and the constant presence of Binary as the main language in the other world. This is definitely a concept that will earn a post of it’s own, but the world constant unsuccessful attempts at creating life that ends up being little more than moving meat is definitely connected to an important theme of HC; creation, godhood, and the meaning of sentience and souls. (Think about Felix, Vincent, basically everything in the house.)
Sadly, I couldn’t find any more books in delirium to add to my list, but it was worth the replay. I recommend giving it a go! It’s pay-what-you-want on itch.io!!

Thoughts on the latest episode of BUCCHIGIRI?! aka it’s going to be intense
WARNING: *Spoilers for Episode 8*
- Wow… this episode really put Matakara through the wringer huh? ☹️
- So episode starts off with baby Matakara and Mitsukuni visiting the Honki Temple. From there, we see baby Matakara witnessing a moving shadow within the picture of Ichiya (don’t worry I’ll get there soon). Matakara hid behind Mitsukuni to which the latter says that the moving shadow senses people with a weak heart and gave Matakara an advice: To become Honki people, one must not run away.
- After the opening, we see Mahoro just gleefully swiping pictures of Marito in fanservicey positions but the moment Arajin calls out to her she’s like 😒
Tumblr media
- Anyways, when Arajin started to yap his mouth about wanting to take over Siguma for the sake of winning Mahoro’s heart, girl just up and left lol.
- Oh but before that Mahoro took a slight glimpse of Arajin’s bento box before she turned her back.
- But as soon as she’s leaving, Matakara appears and greeted Mahoro but she also ignored him.
- Arajin was pissed at that but soon both he and Matakara are sitting next to each other. Matakara then begin to discuss about Mirsukuni’s release from juvie and asked Arajin if they can use the restaurant to celebrate his return. Arajin begrudgingly said yes to it which got Matakara excited.
- From there, we see the puppy boi going around asking Minato Kai from his friends to Kenichiro if they’re attending, to which all of them said yes. (What a happy bunch)
Tumblr media
- While walking home, Arajin asked Senya why he is so insistent on merging with him to which Senya jokingly replies that he wants to start a family. Along the conversation, Senya inquires about Mitsukuni to which Arajin say that the latter is much stronger than Kenichiro himself which of course excited Senya.
- In the restaurant, Arajin told his mum about Mitsukuni’s return and Matakara happened to come by. Matakara also revealed that Mitsukuni is now 21, the same age as Kenichiro.
- We also have Arajin/Matakara bonding moments in the kitchen where Matakara tries to badly make gyoza. He also revealed that neither he nor Mitsukuni can cook.
- Another detail I’ve noticed: Matakara also reveals that he wants to save up enough money to buy an apartment for both him and his brother with no mention of his parents around.
- The next day, Matakara is seen cleaning the Honki temple when he came across the members of NG Boys beating up Akutaro. Of course, witnessing it made Matakara to confront them which causes those guys to run.
- Matakara saw Akutaro lying on the ground and proceed to help him despite what has happened back in the Gang War arc.
- Akutaro then proceeded to secretly out Senya before he backed off a little by giving a mix of ‘Just kidding’ and ‘I won’t tell you’ expression. Much later, it is heavily implied that Akutaro set up the scene because Ichiya told him and also to plan his revenge on Kenichiro as well.
- The next day, we have Matakara planning to go to the juvie hall to pick up his brother and we also have a montage of Minato Kai and Arajin setting up the welcome party. Overall, it’s a cute and sweet moment for the whole of Minato Kai.
- Also I find it funny how Zabu has an artistic side lol.
- While Matakara is waiting for Mitsukuni to come out, a person began to walk out with an umbrella which excited Matakara because it’s his brother- Wait no. It’s a prison guard and asked if Matakara is his relative and delivered the most heartbreaking news which caused Mata to drop the umbrella meant for his brother.
- The next day, we see Zabu and Komao, searching high and low for Matakara even asking the lady (who I presume is his aunt or caretaker) if she knew his whereabouts to which she says no.
- Komao as always is funny and kept cawing back at the crow
- Arajin and his mum at the restaurant wondering where Matakara is and why he didn’t show up to the surprise party to which the former replied that he doesn’t know.
- At school, Arajin approached Mahoro, while the latter is still disinterested in him, who is about to give her a new soapstone. But just then, Zabu and Komao approached him and brought him to a corner to ask about the whereabouts of Matakara.
- Zabu and Komao also delivered the news about what happened to Mitsukuni: Apparently, some juvie mates are fighting and Mitsukuni in a futile attempt to stop the fighting got stabbed and was sent to the hospital, with heavy implications that he won’t make it.
- Arajin obviously doesn’t know and asked if the two of them know where Matakara is considering both Zabu and Komao are closer to him to which Zabu lashed out at him at his dickheaded behaviour (understandably so).
Tumblr media
- And of course, Arajin then retorted that he doesn’t care about Matakara in the slightest which angered Zabu enough that he and Komao left him.
- On the school rooftop, Arajin expected to meet Mahoro on top but she wasn’t there (probably because she learns that going there meant seeing him) and as soon as he opened up his lunch, he saw the badly made gyoza’s that Matakara made 🥺
- But back to Matakara, we now see him at a park, cradling himself helplessly at the news of losing his brother (who I assume is his only family). Then all of a sudden, he kept seeing a shadow creeping over and oh boy. He screamed at the sight of it and ran away as fast as he can.
- The mysterious shadow kept following poor Matakara and the poor boi just kept trying to outrun it all the while being tired from running from it.
Tumblr media
- The next scene we have Matakara appearing next to the restaurant in which Mrs Tomoshibi appeared and answered the door. Mata asked if Arajin is home, seemingly trying to recover from shock and that he went to the Tomoshibi’s because it’s a safe place for him.
- Matakara went up to Arajin’s room and sat right next to his bedside while the latter is sleeping, having a relieved expression.
- Unfortunately, one strand of Arajin’s hair revealed the metal bullet that held Senya. Out of curiousity, he pressed on it which popped out Senya with a menacing expression on his face. Matakara again ran and screamed, waking up Arajin in the process of what’s happening.
- Just as Matakara is running away from the restaurant, Akutaro appeared out of nowhere and then starts delivering cold hard truths about Arajin and how he has Senya with him. Matakara kept screaming in denial about his views of Arajin.
- And oh boy, just as Matakara ran away again, Akutaro belted out an evil laugh with Ichiya’s shadow behind him, implying that both Akutaro and Ichiya masterminded the whole thing so that the latter can merge with him.
- Later, we have Arajin and Senya walking out of town to search for Matakara. (I presume that Yayako must have told Ara about Mata’s visit and that she saw him running away) While searching, Senya asked if there is a place that Matakara is at that holds significance to which Arajin realizes it’s the temple.
- At the temple, Matakara is back in the cradling position trying to calm himself down. Arajin approached him and Matakara has an expression where he has a glimmer of hope that with Arajin would comfort him and such.
- But nope. Arajin started to confess everything: He ran away and abandoned Matakara, he confessed that he was a weak coward for doing so, using Senya for power ups and that he never wanted to be a Honki Person to begin with.
- This confession has shattered Matakara so much so that he tried to deny it but Arajin was having none of it and that all Matakara is doing is just projecting something the he is not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- And with that, Arajin just left leaving Matakara to process the truth of everything.
- The last scene has him and Senya walking back home with Senya slapping him on the back asking Arajin if he felt better about it, Arajin has an expression that more or less implies that maybe he does feel a little bit guilty for telling him the truth of everything that has happened but at the same time knew it was inevitable.
- The last scene has Akutaro walking up to the shrine, opening up the temple door to see Matakara huddling, clearly shattered from everything.
- Akutaro later throw a gun and prod Matakara to shot at it, with clear implications that he wants Mata to fuse with Senya.
- Matakara would then shoot and would be knocked out.
Tumblr media
- When he awoke, he noticed something in between his chest which is a bullet, he pressed on it and lo and behold! OUT CAME ICHIYA!!
Tumblr media
- And then the episode ends in a cliffhanger.
- Ok so overall thoughts, I struggled with this review because of how downright heartwrenching the whole entire episode is for Matakara. Like being informed of the death of his brother, being chased by a mysterious shadow and then his childhood best friend outing the truth. Boi it’s going to be a rough time for Mata.

Granblue Fantasy F/F List
Decided to finally put together a list of most of the F/F content in the game after spending so much of my time on this game. I got into gbf because several of my friends were playing it at the time and recommended it to me so I gave it a shot but found myself a little overwhelmed in the beginning since it was all so massive. I just wanted to make this list in case anyone else felt the same as me back then.
This is not meant to be a comprehensive list because I don’t have everyone nor have I seen every event so I will miss some things. I mainly want to just have this as a small guide to help people get straight into the content either because they’re interested in the characters but don’t want to play the game or aren’t there yet in their progression.
I’ll try to find youtube links to fate episodes and events because the great thing about gbf is that almost everything is voiced save for the R/SR versions but some of these are a little bit older than when the game got a localization so not every fate episode or event has a video link. With that said, all transcripts are also up on the wiki.
Some further background info for those new: In GBF, characters go through character development either through events and/or their fate episodes so later versions of the same character may reference back to a previous point (ex. Silva’s later versions after her Water SSR assume that the events of Water Silva’s 100 uncap/Song’s 100 uncap have happened). Alternately, an older version of a character might have gotten their 5* uncap that continues their development from their latest version (water socie and grand vira...) I’ve tried to put things into what I believe is chronological order but there are some I’m not too sure on. I just wanted to explain this because the development of Vira is all over the place and also weaves some of the MSQ into it because of Katalina.
There’s no particular order to this list other than the first few are the biggest ones that the game likes to tease I should have put megmari should’ve been at the top tbh
1. Katalina and Vira
Friends who went to the military school of Albion together, Vira grew attached to Katalina to the point of obsession. Vira became Lord Commander of Albion while Katalina left and they don’t meet again until years later.
Main Story Quest - Chapter 17 (this section is also covered in season two of the gbf anime as well with some extra context)

Grand Vira’s fate episodes
Wind Vira’s fate episodes
Fire (Promo) Vira’s fate episodes
Main Story Quest - Chapter 126 - 127 - 128

Grand Vira’s uncap episodes
Both Katalina and Vira are playable in Granblue Versus (GBVS), the fighting game spin-off where they have many unique lines against each other and Vira also has a special CG if she wins against Katalina (can be seen in her character trailer release)
by default, Ares and Albion should also be mentioned here
they also feature in Lowain bro’s daydream events where they’re making up stories but your mileage may vary on them (Water Vira with Katapiller is part of this so I didn’t include them, and nothing I read seemed notable anyway)
they have battle banter with each other

(Water) Silva’s uncap episode
Song’s level 100 uncap episodes - uncap at 80 / 5* episodes
Note: Silva and Song’s uncap episodes are essentially the same outcome but they play out in different perspectives (the crew and other Eternals are involved in Song’s version, Silva and her family are more involved with no mention of the crew in Silva’s, and the way Song is portrayed is very different between the two [later writing leans toward Song’s version being the canon event])

Childhood friends and schoolmates. Meg’s dream is to have fun at Auguste but through a series of escalating events that may or may not be caused by the presence of our crew, Meg ends up becoming skyfarer material and joins the crew of the Grandcypher. Note
I absolutely LOVED your expanded thoughts on the Foyet arc with the earlyseasons!reader AU I’m gonna give you my playout of the arc in my head lol cause i’d love to see what you think :) i’ll spilt this into two asks boxes one before the altercation episode and then another for the actual episode with Foyet Altercation so its not so long!
Ok starting when Aaron gets back from the pig farm case, in my AU reader and Jack aren’t there because they went out of state to visit reader’s family and during the time Aaron is being tortured they’re being driven back to their shared home by a trusted neighbor.
Reader walks into the home through the front door with Jack in her arms and see’s the scene in front of her, panics and drops off Jack with the trusted neighbor and comes back to the scene to try and figure out what happens. When she’s left stumped she calls up Emily and from there everything is the same other than the small detail that when reader finds out Aaron is in the hospital she picks up Jack instead of Morgan and Jennifer doing so.
Everything in the hospital plays out the same they say they’re tragic goodbyes (I headcanon that when both reader and Jack walk out the room Aaron either has to send everyone away to cry or he almost has panic attack 🥺). NOW TO SPICE THINGS UP reader is in the early stages of pregnancy when she and Jack are sent into the witness protection program, i’m thinking maybe 3-5 weeks, like she doesn’t know until a little bit later after cutting contact with Hotch. Now idk how long went by since Jack was actually placed in the witness protection program in this arc but for this AU reader is barely even showing (maybe they’re there for four months tops until the altercation)
cw; discussions of pregnancy, stress, mentions of violence, fem!reader
okay first, i love everything about this, and two, the concept of reader finding out she's pregnant?!?!?!!? omg omg omg i need to elaborate on this
i've always headcannoned something similar- like in s12 when they all go into witness protection due to scratch, reader finds out she's pregnant then, but i kinda like this concept more?!?!
can you just imagine all the mixed emotions reader would be feeling😭 first to name, obviously the stress of being put into hiding without aaron, and the last time seeing him being in a hospital bed? like the man was stabbed nine times, he's extremely lucky to be alive, and then within a day being sent away like that? obviously there's the worry for his state in terms of recovering, like yes he was awake, but that doesn't mean a complication still can't arise out of nowhere. then, there's the idea of something happening to aaron while being gone. like yes, reader and jack are being targeted and that's the main focus, but so is aaron?!? who's to say aaron is not being constantly stalked by foyet, or foyet could turn the tables and go after him again. then obviously there's the worry for jack and reader's state :( jack is too young to understand, so he's asking so many questions reader can't answer without scaring him :( he's constantly asking where his daddy is :( if he's feeling better, because again, the last time he saw him was at the hospital, and just the stray of questions pertaining to normal routine? why can't he play with his toys at home, or have his favorite plushy with him since they couldn't stop at home beforehand, why can't he go to preschool, things like that. it would just make reader so :((( because she has to make up different reasons.
and the hospital discussion about them going into hiding :( aaron would be putting a brave face on, as he normally does, but reader can see right through it :( she knows he's hurting, but he doesn't want jack, and reader, to get scared :( even when reader gets weepy, aaron is forcing himself not to cry too :( so i second that he would have to send everyone away to cry :( like watching reader and jack leave??!!? it would ruin him :( there's the impending danger, and he knows what foyet is capable of. like with shaunessy, it was ten years. given the bau is the bau and they tend to resolve things quicker, aaron knows this probably won't last that long, but part of him worries it will be :( and don't get me started about the guilt he feels about not making the deal :( of course, he fully believes he made the right decision of not taking it, because he's him and he refuses to play foyet's game, but yet he feels guilty because he put the whole family in danger :( and that's the one thing he can't particularly forgive himself for.
and then reader finding out about her pregnancy?!?!? again, a complete mix of emotions. first, the happiness of bringing a new life into the world with the man she loves 🥹 they've been talking about having a new baby and have been trying for a while, but finding out under these circumstances :( now yet another little one is in danger, not being able to tell aaron at all- he has no idea he's officially the dad of another baby :(, and going through the tough, early stages of pregnancy without him. like maybe when reader was pregnant with jack (given haley is nonexistent), morning sickness was awful, she was constantly nauseous, etc., but aaron was always there to provide comfort, and this time, he's not :( and also, reader is sad about aaron potentially missing out on the entire pregnancy :( like when she was pregnant with jack, it was so exciting when she first started showing, felt kicks for the first time- the two of them were so so happy and couldn't wait for him to arrive, it was such a special time :((( but this time around, that won't be the case. and reader is definitely worried about giving birth without him. again- there's no telling how long this is for, and it's terrifying. part two

Colors in Ep11 🌈
(+ VP’s Phases of Intensity)
Back with what’s shaping up to be my weekly post about the lovely colors in KinnPorsche, and there is A LOT to work with in this episode. Many amazing posts have already hit the main points, but I’ll try to offer up some of what I noticed in the way of prominent colors, notable shots, and repetitive schemes. This episode also gives a major hint for how these colors could progress in the future.
From a cinematic/aesthetic perspective, I will just note right off the bat that this episode is near the top of my list. It’s truly amazing how carefully they have crafted the evolution of VegasPete’s color scheme(s) and the severity of these colors. It coincides with the progression of their relationship in a way that is apparent but still subtle. It’s hard to define generally without getting into specifics, so here we go...
Red & Green
For the purposes of this post, I will go ahead and make some color groupings. Red and green stand out because they both represent themes of ⚠️ danger ⚠️ --in this case, the type of danger that Vegas elicits. Red is attributed to Vegas a bit more than green, but they’re both clearly tethered to him. The first few VP scenes serve as a continuation of the torture scene in Ep10, as the setting and colors indicate:
Tumblr media
The color red is not only present, it’s brutally apparent. As I mentioned in my post about color/cinematography in Ep10, the environment itself is well-adapted to color. It’s dark, it’s dank, it’s gloomy. It’s enclosed with minimal exits. The oppressiveness makes the colors stand out all the more, because without them, what do we have visually? I believe they chose this space because of it’s simplicity. Our attention is drawn to these colors because they are such vital mood setters.
(It could be easy to mix up pink and red here, but while I do see pink shining through the back of this scene, I do think red is the notable color because pink is really just an alternate shade of red. More on pink later.)
Tumblr media
While red (and lighter shades) dominates this torture scene, green often shines in the back to offer an additional bit of foreshadowing. I still find it interesting that green has been tied to themes of danger, as it’s primary positive connotations include growth and rebirth. That would seem to be the opposite of what we get in this scene, but I do think green’s positive correlations could carry some weight further into the episode. For now, green represents danger but also possessiveness. Vegas wants to hold onto Pete for as long as he can, because he’s someone he can call his—someone he can control when his father is so intent on ripping away his sense of agency.
But moving on to later scenes...
Tumblr media
The three main colors here are red, green, and gold/yellow (separate colors, but they’re blended quite a bit in this shot). I’ve dissected all three already, so I won’t go into much detail, but I do think the change in scenery is most notable because it does not permit such a vibrant display. In the first torture scenes, we cannot escape the color, but here it is a bit easier to overlook. There’s also a certain domesticity to this scene that makes everything less brutal. Pete is still in danger, he’s still a victim, but it no longer feels so intimately oppressive. In keeping with this notion, we have our danger colors shining in the back rather dimly, and their color is mostly contained to the wall behind Pete. The only times the colors really caught my attention on Vegas are (understandably) during the torture scene at the safehouse, where Vegas lashes Pete with his belt, and the scene where Vegas frantically shouts Pete’s name. But in general, while we do see more substantial flares of color in shots like this--
Tumblr media
--it’s still nowhere near as prominent as in the first torture scenes. I’ve also noticed how the colors are almost always more noticeable on Pete, likely to show how he is the subject of the danger. But, and this seems to be the most important part, as the intensity of the colors goes down, so does the toxic intensity of VP’s relationship. This is leaning *somewhat* into prediction territory, but I’m fairly certain we will see three phases of intensity...
Phases of Intensity
1) Torture Intensity - I think we’re already passed this, for the most part. Torture intensity refers to the tension of their relationship when they are at their most estranged: the oppressor and the oppressed. This dynamic pervades the episode up until VP’s final few scenes. Red and green are the main characters in this phase.
2) Minimal Intensity - "Minimal” might not be the best word, but I think this phase is what we see at the end of Ep11. VP have reached a level of vulnerability after Vegas heals Pete’s wounds and Pete admits to a similar experience with his own father. Vegas’s tender kiss is also one of Pete’s first real indicators that the intensity is lessening. The oppressor/oppressed dynamic is not gone, but it’s lessened significantly--putting VP closer to equal than we’ve ever seen them. Gold and yellow are the main characters in this phase.
3) Romantic/Sexual Intensity - I think it’s necessary to pair the words “romantic” and “sexual” together, because I would say we’ve already seen a little bit of sexual intensity in the “Torture Intensity” phase of VP’s plot line but not romantic intensity. The instigation of any kind of sexual action has been all one-sided from Vegas, but while I think Vegas will be the one to instigate more next episode, Pete will likely return the intensity. This is what will turn their sexual intensity into romantic intensity. Pink and purple are the main characters in this phase. I also think we could see a return of hot pink to lean into VP’s more mutual erotic energy when the time comes.
I suppose you could also refer to these “phases” as VP growing closer emotionally, which then allows for a different kind of intensity in their relationship. A mutual intensity, you could say. I’ve talked about positive and negative tension before in regards to KP’s relationship, but this is a similar idea. The colors are almost always a direct reflection of the state of the characters’ relationships.
Tumblr media
When Vegas is healing Pete’s wounds, the red is almost entirely gone, and the green shines minimally; only faint traces of it can be seen on the chain by Pete’s head and on the sheets surrounding them. The prominent color from here on out comes from the gold/yellow light shining above them...
Gold & Yellow
I’ve said before that gold has been associated with the mafia as a whole. This would imply that it’s connotations are negative, but like Kinn and Porsche, I think it becomes something positive this episode. Gold has a metallic shine on it, but this is much more orange/yellow in comparison. Negatively, gold often represents greed. Positively, it represents prosperity. Both of these representations are materialistic in nature. Yellow, however, is typically associated with freshness, positivity, clarity, optimism, and enlightenment. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that an enlightening color shines so prominently during a scene of enlightenment for Vegas.
I also want to point out how closely the coloring in the final VP scenes of Ep11 relates to the coloring in this KP scene:
Tumblr media
The color here appears more gold than yellow, but the point still stands that in both cases, gold shifts from something negative to more positive. The addition of yellow in the VP scenes only contributes to this positivity.
Pink & Purple 💗💜
As mentioned above, hot pink is pretty apparent in these early torture scenes. I think it’s meant to muddle our perceptions a bit, because as others have pointed out, without context, some shots make it a bit difficult to assess the toxic nature of Vegas and Pete’s relationship. These next ones certainly do NOT, however:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(This isn’t the point of this post, but I can’t help but commend Build’s acting during this phone call because it completely ripped my heart out. The effort to keep his voice light and jovial while he’s in such a vulnerable state...💔)
Someone on Twitter referred to pink and purple as VegasPete’s “new colors,” and I think they do represent a softening in the relationship. In this post about the color pink, I mention how pink not only has sweeter, positive connotations, but it is also a subdued version of red. It’s like Pete’s presence in Vegas’s life mutes that bloody crimson into something more breathable—something tender and inviting rather than domineering and oppressive.
If pink is so positive, why then is it such an integral part of the first torture scene? Well, as I said, it is hot pink, not to be confused with a lighter shade of pink, what I’ll call blush pink until I can find a better match. It’s the shade we have seen behind Porsche at times to represent his tender feelings of love, and--most notably--behind both Vegas and Pete in the preview for Ep12:
Tumblr media
We can compare their physical actions to the shades as well. In the torture scene, Vegas has no reservations pushing Pete around. Any tenderness he shows is part of the game, designed to make Pete uncomfortable--to reassert who is in the seat of power. But in the preview, his delicacy is emotional. There’s a change in Vegas’s softness because he himself is showing vulnerability. It’s driven by pure feeling rather than dominance and control...and if it’s not--if Vegas really is just playing with Pete’s emotions, I really will call Vegas a master unhinged-manipulator. Because to me, this is about as real as it gets.
Am I saying it’s real because I want it to be real? Probably. But contrast how Vegas acts with Pete here to how he acts with Tawan in the flashback. It’s hard to pinpoint what, exactly, is different, but no matter how tender Vegas is with Tawan, his movements seem calculated. I reckon there will be more evidence to work with in Ep12, but for now, I’m just going to go with the overall vibes I get from VegasPete as opposed to VegasTawan or VegasPorsche.
The preview shows two primary colors: pink and purple. But there’s a blend between them with hints of blue behind Pete. Coincidence? Blue is Pete’s color, so I don’t think so. But the main attraction here for me is the purplish blend in the middle, because it represents a combination of Vegas’s red and Pete’s blue. I don’t think I need to get into the poeticism of merging each character’s symbolic colors, so I’ll just leave it at that.
There is something to be said about the placement of these colors. The purple is closest to Pete while the pink is closest to Vegas. I already mentioned how pink is just a lighter shade of red, so in a way, both Vegas and Pete are standing in the light of their respective colors. The purple spot between them is between them to represent the point of intersection, where Vegas and Pete can become VegasPete if and only if they both lean into it.
I mentioned the Phases of Intensity already, but I want to conclude by comparing that more specifically to phases of color.
Phases of Color 🎨
Red/Green ⏩  Gold/Yellow  ⏩  Pink/Purple
This doesn’t mean that red/green won’t show up in the future, but I do think that these phases represent which main colors we will see. Unsurprisingly, we are entering the pink/purple phase now, so we’ll see how their interactions coincide with that.
Alright, that’s all on color for now. Let me know your thoughts! :)

I just got done watching Out of the Past and I don’t think I’ll ever recover omg
I cried like 5 times and it took me an hour to get through cause I had to keep pausing to freak out and compose myself
That episode…GOD THAT EPISODE
I wanna ramble so spoilers below the cut since it’s like, actually a lot
So much in that episode got revealed it’s making me insane
Aja and Shana being the first Starlight Girls makes me so insane. Idk if they had ever mentioned that before and I just didn’t notice or forgot, but GOD that adds sm to the whole band’s bond. As well as adding to them working at Starlight too. They didn’t just work there because they agreed with the dream Jacqui stood for, Aja and Shana WERE the dream. That makes me sooooo crazy TEEHEEHEE
Also the reveal of how their mom died…ough
It explains a lot about Jerrica’s whole character to me tbh. Throughout the whole series so far I’ve been here thinking, “Wow, Jerrica is awfully patient and understanding with people. She’s barely ever mad at or super upset with people she cares about, and if she is it’s not for long”
and like…after learning that YEAH, Of course she’s like that! The last time she saw her mother she acted awful to her
What if she gets upset with someone and that’s the last time she ever sees them? It makes so much sense to me and makes what was seemingly a “flat and almost always perfect” type of character a lot more compelling. Not to say I didn’t like her before, I fuckin adore Jerrica, but that layer of extra complexity adds a LOT to her.
Speaking of Jerrica I loved seeing her grieve more. Both her and Kimber both seemed to have delayed reactions to each of their parents deaths, and sure that may have been accidental (most likely was), I think it’s interesting that big events and happenstances cause these emotions to bubble up later on. It’s gives a grounded layer of realism to their characters and I like that!
I also like that Jerrica used to kinda be a brat when she was younger. She wasn’t ALWAYS so thoughtful and acted like any kid and teen would to stuff happening around her, which again I like. It’s a realistic layer to her that adds a lot for me.
Onto talking about her mom more, the insight on both parents makes me nuts. Synergy being made with Jacqui’s voice and such drives me up the wall, that reveal floored me. But I like that it doesn’t change the fact Synergy is still her own separate being, she’s not Jacqui herself, only similar.
And the earrings being the last thing their father made…ohh makes me crazy. He wanted to give them to Jerrica personally…OOOH MAKES ME CRAZY….HE KNEW HE WAS DYING AND SPENT HIS LAST DAYS GETTING THINGS READY FOR HIS FAMILY…...OOOOHHHH MAKES ME CRAZY
And Eric Raymond…Eric when I catch you Eric. I’m going to kill that man I SWEAR DJJSHX Like I knew he was fucked up but OH MY GOD DUDE
Burning them in front of her!? Knowing it’s all she really has left of her mom voice!?
Slap was DESERVED. Her crying for her mom over the fire, her straight up reaching INTO the fire!? Should’ve beaten his ass.
Side note I fuckin love how much they slap men in this show. It’s not so much it loses its shock and impact when it happens, but enough to where you can say “yeah they slap guys a lot” and it’s true.
I also really like that The Misfits aren’t really active antagonists in this episode either. For multiple reasons.
The most they do is help Eric look for those tapes, and they don’t even know why they’re so important. Even after asking, and Eric is the one that finds them anyways so they don’t ever find out. And they’re left at that, no other appearance.
The Misfit’s rivalry with Jem is very petty and spiteful, as much as it may feel personal for them, it’s really not. It’s simply a band rivalry, an extreme one, but it’s formed out of very juvenile motivation.
Eric’s rivalry is not, his beef with Jerrica is IMMENSELY more personal not only because he used to be part of the company, but because he used to be a friend of the family. He knew this girl ever since she was a teenager, and she was ALWAYS a threat to him having full company control. And once she managed to kick him out the door any nice facade with her was over. She’s the reason he lost so much and depends so heavily on a band that treats him like shit (haha).
Their rivalry is infinitely more personal, and for such a personal conflict involving Jerrica’s dead mother, the woman that started Starlight, it only makes sense this would be a battle for him and him alone.
Additionally,, I just don’t think even The Misfits would go that far. Hell even Raymond with anyone else, but because it was Jerrica Benton specifically he had no issue burning her mother’s tapes right in front of her.
